Hey, Matt here from Epic Real Estate.
It's time for Financial Freedom Friday with Matt Terrio.
I just got off the phone with one of my all-time favorite students, Parker, Parker Stiles.
I recorded that call. I want to share it with you.
And he's one of my favorites because when I tell people that I was able to escape the rat race in four years,
when I share that story and how I was able to do it without a dime to my name and a terrible credit score when I got started,
I get met with a lot of skepticism. A lot of people have a tough time believing it.
And, you know, it doesn't really bother me because I'm free.
It doesn't affect me one way or the other.
And typically the skeptic that's sharing their doubts with me, they aren't.
So I shrug it off.
I'm going about my business, but I'm always secretly thinking, gosh, do I dare tell them that if I had to do it all over again?
Knowing what I know right now, I could do it twice as fast.
I mean, they'd probably completely lose it if I did.
So instead, what I do is I show people how to do it twice as fast.
And when I showed Parker, he did it four times as fast.
I couldn't believe it.
In just about 12 months, he was able to get the passive income from his rental properties to exceed his and his wife's monthly expenses.
And now they flip properties for their fund money and they use that money also to continue building their income portfolio.
Here, you can hear it directly from him.
I trimmed our conversation down a little bit so you could get to the good stuff quickly.
And then after you hear what Parker has to say and you'd like some help to do the same, I'll share with you how to get it.
All right.
Enjoy.
All right, so I am here joined by actually go ahead and introduce yourself sir
Sure Parker styles live in Atlanta Georgia Mountain Colorado right now until April
Gonna enjoy some ski season weather out here and uh yeah I've been investing since beginning of
2015 full-time so two and a half year or something like that and I'm 26
Parker before we met what did you want to achieve or or what what problem were you
facing? Oh, the problem I was facing, I guess, like just trading time for money was the main
thing that kind of annoyed me having to get up and go do it X, Y, and Z and wearing X, Y, and Z to achieve
X, Y, and Z. It's just kind of, it's like so mundane and I was over that. Never have really been a good
employee. So I wanted to find a way out of that. And as far as what I wanted to achieve financially,
you know, the first goal, I think when we had our first call, way back.
to go in was just to build a passive income stream that met or exceeded my monthly expenses that I had
just so I could kind of lift that, have that weight lifted off my shoulders, where if I needed to go to
work or if I had a job, I could go to work, but I went to that job knowing that I didn't have to,
but because I still wanted to be there, which is a big paradigm shift.
Absolutely. Awesome. So what would it have meant for your business or what would have meant for you
personally if we were able to have accomplished that.
I mean, yeah, it just would have changed, you know, every,
because I did that for a short time and it changed the way I thought about work.
It was, you know, it's doing something because you want to do it,
not because you have to do it.
I mean, it's just a different spot in your head.
But no, I mean, mainly stress is, you know, stress is a huge problem.
And the way I looked at it was I was looking ahead towards marriage and stuff like
that and I realized that the biggest or the most popular problem in marriages or the end of marriages
was financial arguments and just that all that stress that it can be and knowing that I could
have my monthly expenses paid for and in the future you know myself and my wife's expenses paid
for on a monthly basis whether we were doing something or not you know that that kind of just
changes the whole culture inside the house totally right
Very good.
So let me ask you, as far as working with myself and the epic community, what three parts of the system have had the biggest impact for you or made the biggest impact?
Just the online academy for sure.
All the content.
The podcast is great too.
But the online academy just goes a lot more in depth with that.
The one-on-one coaching calls were a huge help.
I mean, there's real estate is just so in depth.
It's not like you can't get all your questions answered by, you know, paying, you know, a few thousand dollars and getting access to an academy.
You get a lot of that stuff answered.
But there's always going to be things that are helpful to, you know, be able to call somebody, pick up the phone and express your situation that you're in and get a custom answer.
So I would say that would be a big part of that as well.
So podcasts, which is free and super helpful.
the epic online academy with all the videos training modules stuff like that and I guess
oh the Facebook page for sure is a big thing because that kind of flows into what I said a second
ago like it doesn't have to be you if it is you that's awesome but the Facebook page you
allowed me to speak with other people that are very seasoned as well and and a part of that
private page and I can private message them and get those questions answered and you know
network at the same time.
Cool, super.
So what results have you achieved and how has this impacted your life personally?
Results, let's see, speed up to now.
Well, I mentioned I'm in Colorado and the only way that I'd be able to do that
is because I've set up a business that operates virtually, whether I'm there or not.
And that, you know, provides the income that pays the bills for us to be out here and, you know,
have the experiences that we're having.
I've got the monthly expenses paid for with passive income property, which is nice.
So it's kind of, I say passive, you know, a virtual wholesaling business that I've set up in Charleston, it's somewhat passive.
But, you know, if you don't have leads coming in, you don't have profits being made.
So there's an element to that that's not passive, which is where the rental property comes into play that I like even better.
get that mailbox money.
And all that's allowing you to sit there over the winter
and enjoy the winter sports in Colorado
and not really having to work, right?
I don't know if I'd say not having to work yet,
but being able to work here
instead of having to go to the same place over and over again
and having the freedom to hop out and go mountain biking for an hour
and not have to sit at a desk until that clock hits 5 o'clock.
That's the big difference to me.
you know if you're running your own business in my opinion i think most people would agree you you'd
enjoy doing it so perfect uh distinction there is like you've got that spot now where you're working
because you want to and not because you know you absolutely dread it and have to right right
perfect so real quickly can you finish this sentence for me i almost didn't join the epic coaching
because uh i didn't own
Almost join.
Man, that's a hard question for me to answer because I got fired from my job,
and the first thing that I did was call Mercedes when I got home.
There wasn't really a doubt in my mind.
But I would have to say the close doubt or maybe just the uneasy feeling was, you know,
spending the money.
But, I mean, as I could easily tell you now, I mean, it's well worth it.
At the time, it was a lot of money and, you know, it was savings.
It was a lot of money to me and it was savings that I had either worked really hard for or
maybe it was money that was given to me over a long period of time that I had made a lot of
sacrifices, not spending on things that I really wanted to spend it on, but knew something
more important might come along down the line, aka an investment.
And it doesn't always have to be an actual investment property.
It can be an investment in yourself and your education.
and that pays you tenfold
just doesn't happen immediately
and you have to understand that
in order to realize that it's going to be worth it.
All right, last question is
my favorite part of working with Epic is?
Matt's a cool guy.
No, there's a lot of cheesy guys out there now
that I've kind of gotten a good grip
on all the education and all the content
and I would say the best part is just,
it's just no bullshit.
shit just straight to the point stuff that you can go out and use well parker i appreciate you taking away
from your vacation and and thanks for allowing me to casey thank you allow me for taking him away from
you for a minute you guys have fun enjoy the snow and i'll see you guys soon all right appreciate it

life of ultimate options and and on the other side of the country even from where his business
actually runs and where his business runs all by itself on its own. That's what we do
here at REI-A's the badass investor program. We're not necessarily a coaching or a mentoring
program though, although that's included we're a systems and tools program,
where an implementation program that empowers investors to invest their time
where it's most valuable and then let automation and delegation do the rest.
So if you'd like to do what Parker did, if you want to follow in his footsteps to

or fill out the form, I don't know, depending on where you're watching me right now.
Not sure exactly where you're seeing us.
But, or just, you know, keep it simple.
You could just go to rei-a-aise.com and schedule a quick call with one of my top REI-A's development strategists.
We call this an aspiring investor audit.
It's a mouthful.
The audit, at the very least, it's going to help you have three things.
One that's going to help you identify the one thing that's holding you back and you're going to learn how to overcome it.
You're going to receive three strategies to reach your income goal as fast as possible.
and you're going to gain clarity for what there is for you to do next.
And if you'd like some more help even beyond that, I'll show you how to get it.
All right, but the only way to get all of this is by scheduling some time with an REI-A's development strategist.
And you can click the link that you may or may not see on this page, or you can just go straight to rei-a-a-a-aces.com.
Again, glad you found us.
I'm looking forward to talking to you soon.
