Starting point is 00:01:25 And I know I was one of those girls that thought hypnotherapy and mind-esely. said was hokey until I experienced it. And until I saw breakthroughs, financial breakthroughs, in a couple of our colleagues' lives in our mastermind people, in our world, when I finally started to see that and I asked what had transpired, it all came back to the same thing. So last week we had Kathy Pidwell on our show and I asked her to come back to share real deep insight on accessing the subconscious mind, your mindset around money, and how to make a difference for you. So without further ado, Cappy is joining us again. Kathy, how are you today?
Starting point is 00:02:13 And can you hear me? I can hear you. I'm doing wonderful. Thank you. Oh, I'm so glad you decided to join us again. Last week was powerful. And the only reason I'm saying that it was powerful is because of the feedback that I got. Now, this show is about real estate investing, and Turnkey Tuesday is specifically about creating
Starting point is 00:02:36 passive income in your world. But I guess your message last week truly resonated with my listener because the feedback was phenomenal. So having said that, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join me again. And this is going to be all about my listener. So let's dive in right where we left off last week. Let's talk a little bit about mindset and money mindset. And then I want you to help my listeners specifically.
Starting point is 00:03:09 So can you give us a little snapshot of just money and mindset in general? I love it. Well, first off, thank you for having me back. And thanks to all your listeners for tuning in because I know that this journey, in addition to everything you're already teaching the Mercedes, is going to just contribute to their journey and help them have those breakthroughs and get the results that they want. And that's why we're both here.
Starting point is 00:03:34 And I love partnering with people like yourself because when people learn from experts, I always say when you deal with the inner and the outer game and you get two experts coming to you today to share our wealth of knowledge and wisdom, it will benefit every single person who's here. So I want to thank them for their time as well. So with all that being said, because I speak to people on this topic so much, I get a lot of questions where people are just so curious, like, how do I personally get that breakthrough? So I want to give your listeners some steps and some
Starting point is 00:04:08 really powerful ways that I can help them explore their personal money mindset. Because if you remember last week, I said, everybody's different and everybody's in a different place. There's no wrong place or right place. It's your place. So I want to help them identify where they are and understand that their personal relationship can change, no matter what their programming has been, no matter what they believe or think or have fear of or whatever, which we talked about last week. There are ways to change that to get new outcomes. So let's do a few easy processes. And then I'll stop and you can ask any questions. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:50 So one of the first things I like to tell my. audiences and my listeners is that when you think about money, I want you who are every single listener individually, so I'm saying you to everyone, I want you to think about. And if you have a pen and paper in front of you, it's always good to write because we're in our heads so much. It's very good to use the visual part of your modalities as well as your kinesthetic if you're typing or writing. So now you're you're using more of yourself and you actually retain more information that way. So I want you to write down how much money you believe you can make in the next 90 days. So somebody listening, write it down, or think about that number. So the question is,
Starting point is 00:05:36 how much money do you believe you can make in the next 90 days? And your mind will give you the answer, okay? So you write down that number, you think about that number. And then the next step is I want you to double that number and I want you to write the doubled number down or think about the doubled number and then tell yourself you're going to earn the doubled number in the next 90 days. Wow. And what happens in your head? Instantly, you think, how am I going to do that?
Starting point is 00:06:08 Exactly. So here's the key to that simple exercise. My first question is write down how much money you believe you can make in the next 90 days. There's several people that have no idea. So you want to get clear on how much money you want to make. That's number one. Several people know that number and they write it down. And that is where their money mindset is set to.
Starting point is 00:06:31 That's their familiar amount of money that's predictable. They've probably done it or it's around what they've typically done. Then all I said was double the number, right? Write down the doubled number and then tell yourself you're going to earn the doubled number. And then what happened? your mind instantly goes to oh my gosh it's scary how am i going to do it i can do it that's exactly right and this is why the subconscious is so powerful because last week i talked about you have a relationship to money and your relationship to money is that first number or about that that's your money
Starting point is 00:07:08 thermometer if you will so the minute i tell you to tell yourself you're going to earn the double that's where all the doubt and the uncertainty and the how and the yay or the name or whatever happens for you internally. Again, there's no wrong answer. But I want everyone to hear how important it is that that is your subconscious driving your thoughts. Remember last week I said you have 500 words a minute? That thought came from your beliefs based on how much money you've made. That's how powerful you are.
Starting point is 00:07:38 So when somebody starts to identify that first number and they go, oh, that's my comfort zone, that's my money zone, right? How then do we get to that double or triple or whatever that number is? and that's by changing the subconscious belief about money. And that's really why I'm an expert at it. I have the products and the systems. That's not just snap your fingers and go, woohoo. You know, I'm a multi-millionaire. Like so many seminars do, they jump around the room and go,
Starting point is 00:08:01 I'm rich and they try to affirm, but then the person sits in the chair and they go, yeah, no, I'm not. Because their internal thermometer is set to that first number. That is incredible that you said that. Okay. Last week you mentioned you had us draw a pie. or a circle, and then you had a pie out a little sliver, which represented five to 10% of your conscious mind. And then the remaining 95% per se was your subconscious mind. So for the average
Starting point is 00:08:37 person that doesn't even understand the topic of conversation, which was me, you know, three weeks ago. How did they begin to tap into that? What has to happen? Because you just had us do this exercise, which, by the way, was genius because I instantly wrote the first number down. I'm doing the exercise with you. And then I double that number, wrote the second number down.
Starting point is 00:09:06 And then you said, tell yourself you're going to make that in 90 days. And my brain instantly went to almost. oh my God, what systems do I have to put into place to double what I'm making? It wasn't like, I can't do it. But if you would have asked Mercedes, the same question 10 years ago, I would have been there's no way in the world I'm going to make that. Today, my response is, okay, I kicked into gear instantly, like panic mode gear. But in a good gear, you know, because I'm like already thinking,
Starting point is 00:09:38 okay, how am I going to make $2 million in like 90 days? Love it. And so that shift happened, and I recognize it just now speaking to you, that shift happened somewhere in my life. And it wasn't, like you said, it doesn't happen overnight. Real estate doesn't happen overnight. Wealth doesn't happen overnight. And changing that subconscious conversation doesn't happen overnight. So where does that baby step start?
Starting point is 00:10:06 What does my listener have to do to start triggering that? Yes, yes. So to identify their personal relationship to money, which again is what we kind of just did, this is a process, right? And that is why I make systems and sessions. And I don't just go, oh, go listen to something and hope that you get rich. How I work with people is I like to consciously coach them. And I often use the analogy, Mercedes, and it's a funny analogy, but I'll use a different one.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I'm going to use a garage. Let's use a garage. So everybody knows when they go out to look at a property or buy something or sometimes you walk into garages and they're just packed full of stuff and you can't even walk through it. Okay. That's kind of how I think of the subconscious. It's packed with old information for most of us. And oftentimes if we open a garage door and we see all that, we're like, oh gosh, I don't want to clean it. I don't want to deal with it.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I'm just going to shut the door. And that's what a lot of people do with mindset. They don't want to look at it. They don't want to deal with it. And that's fine, wherever they are. The other person might look at that stuff and say, okay, I'm going to hire some people to come in and they're going to go through it and they're going to clean it out and organize it. So when that process starts to happen, I'm sure everybody can relate to this. How many times did you open a box and you're like, why did I keep this?
Starting point is 00:11:24 And it's trash. But at the time, it wasn't. It was important at the time, just like our life journey. At the time when we're learning things or we're going through, you know, how we're programmed and how we're conditioned, it's, that's just part of the process. But oftentimes we look at that stuff and we're like, it's garbage. and then we throw everything out, and that's how I think of the subconscious. I'm kind of the person, if you have a full garage, so to speak, if you have a mindset that's full of doubt or fear or limiting beliefs and all that stuff, and you know how to clear it out,
Starting point is 00:11:52 I'm the person that helps you do that, okay, because it is a process. And also, then we make room to put new boxes in, so to speak. We want to put that new information that's driving the bus and driving your decisions today, not outdated old crap, excuse my French. that isn't serving your success. It isn't building your business. I always say it's not what I'm going to get. The $2 million is there. The $20 million is there. There's millions of dollars everywhere. But what am I coming from? If I'm always coming from abundance, if I'm coming knowing from that's available, I'm going to align myself with that opportunity, that person, that thing, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:12:30 So it's clearing out the subconscious of those old beliefs, those old boxes. That's my, I speak in metaphors all the time, because I like people to visualize that. So if somebody says, yes, I need help with that because I keep producing the same result, my bank account, no matter what I do, looks the same year after year, after year, or about that first number, right? And oftentimes when I tell people the first number, they usually up it a little bit. It's fascinating how human behavior is so predictable. Like, it's just amazing. Yeah. So that process is, number one, you have to be willing like you were you were like hey capy i heard about you i want to do some work with you to experience you and then you know interview you great so you did and you saw the instant
Starting point is 00:13:15 results you shared with me some of the fast results that you got like all my clients get but you have to be willing to do the work if somebody says i don't want to know what's in there i tell him it cracks me up when people say that it's already there that's the secret it's driving your decisions there's nothing to be afraid of. If anything, my first analogy, I use a trash can often. And I say it's like if you walk by a trash can and it has a bunch of trash on it and you try to put more trash on it. And it just spills over. That's how I think of information in a lot of seminars.
Starting point is 00:13:46 People are so full of stuff. More information just can't get in there. It kind of spills over and falls on the floor and they never implement it. So that's how, imagine if I could go in the trash can and pull all the stuff out, empty it, now you've got room to put new information in there. So the mind is remarkable if you know how to program it. And that's what all my systems do. They come with workbooks.
Starting point is 00:14:09 They come with subconscious session. They come with coaching questions. So it's a process for people. Again, it's not just think and hope that you're going to be a millionaire. I mean, affirmations are a thing that eventually if you keep telling yourself, you hope to believe it. That's what an affirmation is. I'm not saying they're bad, but there's a faster way to get there.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So if you do both, you're going to get there faster. God, that's amazing. Your analogies, by the way, are exquisite because, you know, you said, you know, I'm trying to get people to visualize it. Well, I've been in real estate for 15 years. And if you want me to visualize something, put it in a house and I will get it. Yeah. So when you said the garage instantly, you said, you know, if your garage is packed, what would you do? Some people close the garage. In my case, I'd hire somebody to clean out the garage, which is, you know, what I've physically. done in my life, but there's something to say that I'm going somewhere. When you clean out that garage, whether you do it yourself or whether you pay somebody to do it, and now you can park your damn car in the garage where it's not full of crap, it is such a liberating feeling. Speaking of these analogies. And so I'm sharing this because that is exactly why I created a turnkey operation because I was so tired of, you know, the hogwash of when you bought a house and you didn't know what to do with it. It would just sit there empty because you didn't
Starting point is 00:15:37 know what to do with it. And so many people lost money. And so yeah. And then I thought, well, what if I create the systems to make this turnkey operation really become a turnkey operation? And that's what did it. But it didn't happen overnight. And this is what I tell my my clients all the time, you know, building wealth, it happens one property at a time. And to put it in context, it happens one garage at a time. Because, yeah, you're not going to be able to do this overnight. So thank you for sharing that amazing analogy. Okay. You indicated that, you know, my question to you was, how does somebody have a breakthrough with money? How does somebody start changing the conversation that they've been hearing in their mind, that they can't do real
Starting point is 00:16:28 estate, that if they invest in a cash flowing property, what if the tenant doesn't pay rent, or what if the property manager is no good, or, you know, all these conversations in their head. And you said something that really resonated with me. You said, you have to be willing. So I get a lot of people that call me just to see what cash flow savvy is all about. and Mercedes, how did you create your portfolio and, you know, asking me questions and inquiring. And they appear to be willing on the surface, but actions speak louder than words. And I don't hound anybody. But when I follow up with them and then, you know, they ghost me or when I follow up with them and they say, I'm not ready yet, what that willing component of it is huge?
Starting point is 00:17:18 What has to happen so that my listener changes their mindset and they're willing to do the extra work that is required? Well, again, that goes back down to how they feel about success. So if somebody really wants success, but their belief inside, just like the money exercises, I could never have that, they're the people that postpone and put things off. Somebody that's very willing is ready to make those decisions and dive in. And I always say, and I think you're the same way, Mercedes and getting to know you, I am a life learner. I never stop learning. And I love to learn from people smarter than me because I know my stuff really, really well, but there's other things I don't know really, really well.
Starting point is 00:18:04 So I'm going to go look for the person to teach me and help me get to where I want to get. And that's why I'm saying. I always look for those ideal partnerships because I can't teach everything you know. You can't teach everything I know. So if a person's willing, they should find the right people and the right systems and the right teachers because mentors are everything. I've paid mentors and people in the past that have not been great and they've taken a ton of money and a ton of my time and have not delivered the results. So you want to, I would say to anybody, if you're willing, you have to step out of your comfort zone. If you keep doing the same thing, you're going to get the same outcomes.
Starting point is 00:18:37 We already know that. So the subconscious one I help a person, it's helping them have those break. breakthroughs and start to see, change their perception, if you will, just like you did. You shared with me on super, your perception shifted through one session, just like my jaw changed in one session. Now, is there layers to this for different people? Absolutely. But the powerful thing of somebody saying, you know, here's, here's what I do. And I'm going to recommend every single one of your listeners apply this simple strategy. It's so simple. Here's what I tell my people when, of course, we're in COVID right now. But when I did my live events, and like you on stage, everybody comes. and has a million questions afterwards. They kind of, I don't know, I don't know. And you did it. So I've learned very fast to just laser beam. I'm on a scale of 1 to 10.
Starting point is 00:19:22 How important is this to you? If they're a 2, 3, 4, 5, they're probably not going to be ready for my level of learning and teaching. If they're a 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, then I know there's somebody that I'm going to be like, okay, look, if you're here and you want to be here, it's going to take these steps.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I've got the systems. I'm a coach. I've been doing this almost 30 years. And here's my thousands of testimonials, right? So that's the way to do it. If you're ready, let's go. If there are two, three, four, and five, and I would say this again, for everyone that's listening, that's a really good question.
Starting point is 00:19:52 You want to know where people are. If you're going to get a house or find a business partner or get money from someone or you have the money, ask them, hey, on a scale of 1 to 10, where are you? And I would ask you to ask yourself that question. On a scale of 1 to 10, how committed are you to being a successful real estate investor? If you're a 2, they're probably not going to invest. And I can tell you right now, I love everybody, but they don't take a lot of time with the twos until they're willing to do some work and bump themselves up to where they need to be. Then they're going to make that decision and say I'm willing.
Starting point is 00:20:25 But if somebody isn't willing, it's not my job to convince them or like you say, chase them down or go, you have to do this. Nope, if it's not for you, it is not for you. Because let me tell you, there's millions of people out there that need help that want help and that are willing. and that's really, I think, being an entrepreneur, it's our job to align with those people. And there's plenty of everything, you guys. There's no lack of anything. There's plenty of houses. There's plenty of money.
Starting point is 00:20:51 There's plenty of people. You know, we don't walk around in the day and worry about how many breasts we're taking. There's tons of oxygen. Like, that's how I think of air. We are in an abundant world. But if you're not thinking that way, you're not attracting that way. Yeah, that's so much to think. say about that. Just the whole component of willing and in systems and building and just really
Starting point is 00:21:15 understanding that anything you do doesn't happen overnight. And so you said something really interesting. You know, you talked about having the right people, having the right systems in place. How does one determine what is the right system and what is the right system and what is the, you know, right coach or the right mentor for you or what is the right property for you. How does one make that determination? Well, I think it's just like you, you learned along the way and your husband learned along the way. And then like myself, I learned along the way. I didn't jump into, you know, being a coach. I didn't have that word. Back then, a coach was a soccer coach or something, right? So now everybody's a life coach. But back then, you know, when we were, when I was learning and as a lot of
Starting point is 00:22:08 people are learning. You know, I did. I looked for people that knew, like my teacher, I paid her a ton of money. I found the best school. I did, like you say, but I implemented that stuff. I didn't just keep learning and like I said, I'm a life learner, but you have to implement that. You have to say this person. Or then maybe you meet somebody and they say all this stuff and they're all ego and you look at like who they are and their character is icky. I'm not going to give that person a dime. So I think it's just, again, trusting yourself to say, wow, Mercedes has built this amazing system. She's got this whole turnkey process. She's done it herself.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Her husband's done it. They've done it for thousands of people. I want to learn from the best. And I'm going to figure out how to do that. And so that's kind of what I've done. I learn from people smarter than me. And then I love teaching and learning. And I think that if somebody, that's really that willingness.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I don't sit here and say, oh, I know everything. or I don't need help. I think we all, just like you and I, connection, it doesn't mean you're less than or don't know. We're just educating each other with different information, and it's so powerful. And it makes your audience, your listeners, every time you bring more value to them,
Starting point is 00:23:20 it makes them more powerful. And that's really what we're about. So it's finding step one, again, being willing. And then the second step is who has the answers and the resources I need? Because some people might really need my help, but they've got that, or they might just need your help, but go, the mindset's fine.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I just don't know how to do this. So it's really just based on the individual need. And I tell people that. But I've learned, Mercedes, I'll tell you, years ago when I was speaking, when I first started speaking and people would come up to me or like call me and say, can I pick your brain and have a million questions? I used to spend a lot of time with those people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:55 And I don't anymore. And again, not to be mean or rude, but there's systems and products and my website and all the stuff I have. But you have to learn as an entrepreneur and as a business owner where to invest your time. And I would say this to everybody. Invest your time in yourself into things that are going to prosper your life. Don't invest your time and your energy into things that are going to drain you or exhaust you or not get you an outcome. So there's ways to give back to the community and to help people and I, you know, give free resources, you know, my website and there's, you know, stuff available.
Starting point is 00:24:31 COVID came out. I made a free COVID download. There's ways to give to people. So I'm not saying, you know, be rude or inconsiderate because that's not part of it. But I'm very, very conscious of where my attention and energy goes with everybody and everything I do. So I would recommend that to all your listeners is it's very important to manage your energy. And your outcomes will align with that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:54 It's amazing that you said, invest time in the people and the systems that. are going to prosper your life, that are going to have a change in your financial future. And that's exactly why people listen to this show. It's because they're trying to hop into real estate or expand their real estate portfolio or learn another strategy in real estate to get to that next level to prosper their life. So appropriately fitting missing. Kappy, what is the one thing that you would say to that person that is suffering from analysis paralysis or that person that is just, you know, paralyzed with fear because they've been
Starting point is 00:25:38 telling themselves for years that they can't do this or they grew up poor and, you know, they didn't have enough money to pay their rent and maybe they had enough money to eat. Like what would you tell that person how they can get a breakthrough to change that? Well, I would tell them on my website, I have a free money thing that they can go do. Obviously, it's a great place to start is to download my money checklist. And then it comes with a free subconscious session on your money mindset. So that's that willingness and wanting to do the work and learning. And, you know, if, again, if somebody wants to do that on their own,
Starting point is 00:26:18 they're certainly welcome to do it. But here's a key question that are a key answer. I will give to all your listeners today. See, our beliefs live in our subconscious mind. So if you believe that it's going to be hard, hard, you're right. If you believe it's going to be easy, you're right. If you believe that it's going to take two years, you're right. So I want you to understand that your beliefs drive your decisions. So a powerful solution for that is if you're, you know, doing the analysis paralysis and you're
Starting point is 00:26:53 over-analyzing everything, understand that that's just five to 10% of your mind. Okay. So if you tell yourself after you do all the analyzing, all the research, all looking, which is critical and it's very important, sit back for a few minutes and say this sentence to yourself. I'm beginning to believe and then fill in the blank. I'm beginning to believe I can have this. I'm beginning to believe that this is easier than I thought. I'm beginning to believe I can be successful. I'm beginning to believe because see, there's no resistance when you tell your subconscious you're beginning to believe something, it will receive that very easily. And that's why hypnosis is so powerful and I'm a master of NLP because the words we use and the products I make are critical. There's a very big
Starting point is 00:27:39 difference between hypnosis and meditation. Meditation feels good and it's relaxing. Hypnosis is giving your brain and body the right words to get very specific outcomes. So if somebody says, oh, I believe I'm a millionaire and they're not, you can feel that resistance. right? But if they say, I'm beginning to believe that I can actually become a millionaire, do you notice how different that feels? Sounds different, yes. It's different and feels different. My famous quote, Mercedes, you haven't probably heard me say it yet, but my famous quote is what we feel we make real.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Oh, I love that. What we feel we make real. That's a Cappy Pidwell quote. Because I hope people feel very different. See, like when we set goals and we have outcomes, we want the houses or we want the money or we want the stuff in order to feel a certain way, to feel successful, to feel happy, to feel prosperous. But most people don't get it. They're trying to get the stuff to feel that.
Starting point is 00:28:46 And the true secret to all success is you have to feel it first. So I use an analogy sometimes as if you're. If you stand in front of the mirror and you're not happy and you want the reflection to smile, who has to smile first? You. And that's exactly how the universe works. Oh, my God. Your analogies are amazing.
Starting point is 00:29:09 I love them. That was a real estate analogy, but that was a good analogy. That's amazing. Well, everybody can relate, right? So when we're building a business and we're building wealth and we're working hard and we're analyzing, and we're looking at properties and we're talking to people. We have all those tasks. We're still going to do all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:28 But I'm telling you, if you spend five minutes a day with yourself and master your mind and you feel amazing about step, you will align with totally different things. And again, people are looking for the thing. Everything's out there that we need. But if I master me, I'm going to align with that stuff so much faster.
Starting point is 00:29:46 I'm telling you, Stedman Graham endorsed my book. I'm a walking, talking billboard of this stuff. And so I just tell people, people, it's not that it's mad. I've done a lot of work on myself. And I see things first and I feel them first. And I'm telling you miracles happen all the time. And people go, you're so lucky. It's not luck. It's the work I do. Yeah. And so what do you tell that person that is trying to have a financial breakthrough that, you know, they want to have the moment that you had with your book instead, McGrath. How do they have that moment? They start with, again, if they do take five minutes a day,
Starting point is 00:30:21 You don't have to take a long time. Put on some soft music, go get my free money checklist. It asks your conscious what's already stored in your subconscious mind. Do the digging. Do the work. Look at the boxes. Okay. It walks you through those easy questions.
Starting point is 00:30:38 You just answer them. And then it will email you a free subconscious session. It's 10 minutes long. Do it every single day. I'm telling you, you will have amazing breakthroughs in your money mindset. just with that little free experience. Again, if you don't want to do that, you can do all your analysis,
Starting point is 00:30:55 sit back for a few minutes, take a few deep breaths, ask your subconscious. I think of my subconscious like a genie in the bottle. You know, sit with it and just say, what's the best decision I should make today? What, you know, where's the guidance going? Think of the GPS when you plug it in your car.
Starting point is 00:31:08 You just plug it in and you go. You have to kind of think of your subconscious, has so many answers, you guys, and you have to learn to listen and ask. So if you take five minutes, and sit and say to yourself, I'm beginning to believe this is easy. I'm beginning to believe that things are going to work out for me.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I'm beginning to believe that my success is coming to me faster than I ever imagined. Again, you can tell I'm a hypnotherapist because stuff pours out of me. It's very easy to then sit in silence for a few minutes to get your answer and then take action. And I can't emphasize that enough. It's not about massive action. It's about taking the right action. And if sometimes you just clear that clutter, clear that fear, then go make the decision or make the call or invest the money,
Starting point is 00:31:52 you will see amazing different results in everything you do, in everything, your partnerships, your investments, your returns, it's crazy. Yeah, you know, it's funny. You said, you know, I can go on and on. I'm a hypnotherapist, but, you know, this is beyond the hypnotherapist. This is really about, you know, doing something on a level that you really can't explain that just takes a few tweaks, you know, a day, like minutes a day, that potentially change your future.
Starting point is 00:32:27 And that, to me, is mind-boggling that this, you know, verbiage and that you can change these things is really amazing. So I love that you share that, Kappi.
