It's time for Financial Freedom Friday with Matt Terrio.
Tony Robbins' simple secret to becoming rich.
I saw this in a tweet last week, and I didn't click the link right away to read the article,
but I did forward the tweet to my email so that I could read it later,
thinking that whatever Tony's secret to becoming rich was would make for a great topic of a financial freedom Friday.
And here we are.
It just happened to be that, a great topic for today.
But it's not really what I was expecting.
You know, most of the article that the link in the tweet led to had to do with what money means to each of us or the meaning that we give to money.
And how we either use money as a tool, a resource, a means for getting what we want, or how money uses us.
You see, money can build and it can destroy.
And the irony is, as I've mentioned many times here on the show, money isn't even what we really want.
It's what we're striving for, but it's not even what we want.
Being rich isn't what we want.
Financial freedom isn't actually what we want, even though it's what we pursue day in and day out.
What we really want are the emotions and the feelings we think being rich will give us.
Feelings of empowerment, feelings of freedom, feelings of security, the ability to help others in
the freedom and the feeling of choice, the feeling of being alive and vibrant.
That's really what we're after.
And something else that I've mentioned here countless times as well as on my do-over podcast,
and perhaps it's because I've been such a fan and a student of Tony Robbins over the years.
I forgot where I learned it.
But what I've mentioned is the best or at least the fastest and most efficient way to change your life
is to find people or even a person who has or have already achieved what you want and then model
their behavior.
I mean, if you want to be rich, find a rich person or a group of rich people and imitate how
they deal with money and you will have found a pathway to becoming rich.
You know, of the many biographies of rich people that I've read over the years and the rich
people that I've interviewed and the rich people within my social circle, most of them think of money
as a game, as a way of keeping score. I mean, why else would anyone work 10 to 12 hours a day
after they've made their riches? I mean, I'm no billionaire, but I've done well for myself,
and I often think the same. I mean, why do I work five to six days a week? I think I worked seven
days last week and why don't work 10 to 12 hours a day? It's a game and it's a game I'm out to win.
It's a game that keeps me from getting bored and it's a game that's rewarding when I do win.
So let me ask you, how would you live your life if you woke up each day knowing there was
enough money coming in to cover not only your basic needs but also your goals and dreams?
How would you live your life if that were the case?
The truth is, a lot of us would keep working because that's just the way we're wired.
But we'd do it from a place of joy and abundance.
Our work would continue.
But the rat race, that thing would end.
We'd work because we want to, not because we have to.
And when I use the phrase financial freedom, I use that phrase frequently.
That's the financial freedom that I'm talking about.
Is it a pipe dream though?
Is it really possible for the average person, more importantly for you to live a financially
free life?
I'll answer that by quoting Tony's simple secret to becoming rich.
Whether you want to live like the 1% or just have the peace of mind of knowing that you
won't outlive your savings, the truth is you can always find a way to make the money
you need.
How?
Well, the secret to wealth is simple.
find a way to do more for others than anyone else does become more valuable do more give more be more
serve more and you will have the opportunity to earn more whether you own the best food truck in
austin texas or you're the top salesperson at your company or even the founder of i don't know
instagram or and this is my addition to tony's quote by the way if you position yourself as the
solution for what ails distressed property owners. Do that, do it consistently, and do it with
persistence, and there's no limit to the riches that can be yours. I'm Matt Terrio of Epic Real Estate,
