The ETF business is now approaching $4 trillion in the United States as more and more investors embrace ETFs over mutual funds. You know, it's a wonderful privilege to be on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for 23 years. When people ask me what it's like, I say to them, what would you give to meet all of your heroes? I've seen housing bubbles. I've seen recessions. I saw 9-11. I saw the great financial crisis. This whole coronavirus epidemic is very difficult to tell people the bad news because I'm very conscious that most of the people watching CNBC have money in the market.

My main job is to just give a 20 to 30,000-foot view of how the market is and what the current sentiment is. Tell people the truth. If it's good news, say it's good news.
