Nate Dog, how is your Lanny Watkins design? Well, that's the conversation this week, House. I mean, it wasn't 31 under. It was only 30 under. But our buddy Jason Solvill, I think, wrote it right today when he said, you can't control for the weather. And I think there was, I think Scotty was right, which is that there was a way for this course to deliver lower or higher scores in the maybe,

maybe not five to eight under, as he suggested, but maybe in the 10 to 15 under. But man, the weather just did not cooperate. And I think on top of that, you know, we played ball and hand all four days. The drainage wasn't there. They put everybody on the clock. And so you had guys just trying to motor around, even though these greens were so slopy. They needed more. This tournament didn't go quite as everyone planned.

But we had a pretty epic back nine, didn't we house? Yeah. And let me go ahead and if you'll indulge. Let's just sort of talk about, isn't there room in competitive professional golf for a shootout every now? Do we have to dunk on the poor CJ Cuppers? the poor, you know, poor Byron Nelson. How did Byron Nelson end up getting his name associated with something that folks look upon with disfavor and disdain?

That doesn't feel right to me. And, you know, we had two 60s this week. That's kind of exciting. I don't know. The stretch run by Wyndham Clark was extraordinary. Yeah, it was. And, you know, I understand we had the challenge last week. The challenge was the PGA championship.

The challenge was a venue and a geographic place and weather that created all kinds of uncertainty with a leaderboard packed and stacked with, you know, a mix of knowns and unknowns. And by golly, we had something very similar at the end of this week's tournament, more knowns than unknowns at the top of the leaderboard. Anyway. I look, I think if you want to glass half full this, there were guys in the top 10 who putt really well and did some other things just okay. There are guys in the top 10 who hit their irons really well and did everything else just okay.

There's some guys in the top 10 who hit their T shots really well and just did everything else okay. So there were multiple ways to skin the proverbial cat. But for me, we got to talk about Windham for sure. We got to talk about poor Siwu, who finally has, one of, he has his best putting performance in a year. That has been the problem. He finally gets the putter working and Wyndham Clark also finally gets the wind, the putter working, cuts him off. And then we got Scottie Schaeffler who just sort of ho-hum once again delivers a most things are working, but, you know, somebody just nips him at the line. And instead of the second place,

which is what that usually breeds, he fell all the way to third house. Right, right, exactly. Let's do glass half full, glass half empty Wyndham Clark. It was curious to me. Before we do that, I want to just, I want to push you on this because you sent me a text over the weekend. Is now not the time to have this conversation? Let's go ahead and have it. Let's go ahead and have it.

You really asked me a very interesting question that gave me pause, which was, it's a giant state. There's tons of great golfers and love for the sport. is there a good golf course in Texas? It's really bizarre that there isn't an answer that jumps right off the page. Like, oh, of course there is. There's this very famous venue that's hosted this major and that major and the other major. And instead, we have to do this conversation about Memorial Park in Houston that's undergone that renovation. the TPC venue in San Antonio.

Colonial is the answer because colonial, which we would get to see this week, is unique in its history, unique in, you know, it feels like to me the, I don't know, am I crazy? It is like the cornerstone of Texas golf. Isn't it regarded that way?

But then we're going to look at the field this week and you go, why aren't more guys playing it? And some of it is, yes, the memorial is the next week. But some of it is guys don't really like the redesign. So I'm not sure where we stand on some of these courses right now. And the only thing that I'm thinking about is we got PGA Frisco in a year, right, at the PGA championship. And we haven't seen that.

And some of the sweeping views that you saw CBS teasing. The women played there. We got to watch a little bit of it with the women's made. are there last year. Yeah. Just an introduction to it. And it seemed enjoyable. I mean, look, that Byron Nelson was always an outdoor cocktail party.

Like, they really, every course that they've been to, there's been just, there's a party vibe on the last part three. This course just doesn't seem, I think they've had a little bit lack of luck with the weather. And it's interesting that they're actually moving this tournament. And we'll talk about that in a second to see, I'm, you know, I'm not sure. that it's going to make a difference. But for whatever reason, every year,

this course just catches a bunch of strays with the rain. And when a tour course like this is soaking wet, I'm sorry. Like, even if you put pins in crazy, slopey spots out on the corners of the greens, like, guys are going to go at those pins. And that's what happened at this tournament. Okay, I mean, it's worth noting that the guys who all were T9

were 11 shots behind the first place, you know, score from Wyndham of 30 under. So it's not like everybody went bananas. There were only a few guys who got into the 20s. But as you mentioned, the quality of this course or of the leaderboard, I think, shows you that the best guys were able to take advantage of it. I just don't know. I mean, I'd love to hear from the birdie buddies at some point.

Like, what are those courses that you are must plays in Texas? because I'd love to see some more memorable visual golf holes than we get through the traditional Texas swing. Yeah, we're going to get, yeah, so the Texas swing now consists of Memorial Park in Houston, the Valero, which is the TPC in San Antonio, and then these two events, the TPC Craig Ranch and Colonial. And we lost what I came to regard and appreciate as just sort of visually interesting, the Austin Country Club where they were conducting the match play for a couple handful of years, as long as Michael Dell was willing to kind of, you know. Yeah, with the bridge and the vistas and Sergio's hole in one.

And the water. Yeah, there were some things that you could sort of latch on to as memorable. But that that course is obviously not needed. use now. Right. So TBD, let's let the, the eagle enthusiasts out there from Texas tell us, you know, something that we're missing. Well, we got to give Wyndham his flowers, don't we? How did you feel about this? Were you rooting for him? No. Well, and the reason is because I bet on Siwu. I mean, I had Sea Wu one and done. And I don't know, honestly, here's the challenge.

I don't feel like Windham's done enough. I don't mind him having the struggle. And, you know, this week was a week where the players were allowed to have their caddies where kind of anything they wanted, any message they wanted on the back of the caddy. And what Wyndham chose was this business that he is pushing that has to do with mental health support. It's called UNL-O-K unlock. And, you know, that's all super reasonable. And I think we're like generally familiar with Wyndham's volatility being ascribable to his own kind of challenges, his own sort of personal demon volatility.

But we haven't had the thing where, like, he says he has been making amends quietly and trying to make amends and he wants to be in good standing with Oakmont. but like the way to have done that and i feel like i'm not alone here is to be big about it like make the statement i was in a bad place um i was down on myself i was down on my game i was wrongheaded i was you know not in my in the in the head space that was going to allow me to to to you know express the appropriate contrition yeah but you need to do do that and you need to like do a thing like it can't be all under the radar you need to go to them and say here's the giant check i'm going to give to the charity that's so important here yes to oakmont and i he's still as far as we know banned from oakmont that can't that doesn't make any

sense yeah i mean did did the um did the sort of extended stay with SVP during the par three contest change anything for you? Or did that sort of further salt the wound a bit because it sounded like he was on a comeback tour having none? And listen, after each of those things, he made statements, but they were short. I don't know what we want from him exactly. I think to your point, it's some large gesture.

Did the par three contest? He'd spent an hour yucking it up with SVP. Did that make a difference? No, no. I mean, the thing that's missing, And it's perfectly fine. Like, think about how generous and gracious the American sporting public can be. Golf fans in particular can be golf fans like a redemption story.

Golf fans are ready to extend grace. You have to do the one big thing that is the blackest mark on your professional career. That needs a fix. It needs a public fix because it was a public harm. It was a public harm to a place that is, you know, held in the highest regard in in all the world of golf always top top tier in terms of the standing that oakmont occupies reputationalally it's is honor and integrity the games they play there the membership how gracious the membership is there you can't violate that and then and then

you know try and be back in in in the public eye and want to be well well regarded without fixing that problem in what to me needs to be a dramatic way. That's that's my complaint. Yeah. I think look, we all understand the source having, you heard, you heard the stories about Wyndham really, really winning first one at Quail Hollow. And certainly through the U.S. Open, you understood the source of what a lot of that pent-up stuff is that he just works through. as anybody who lost their mother in that way would have to deal with. But you also, I think, can expect somebody to act and function as an adult. And it's clear that Wyndham's been doing a lot of work.

And there was some joy from him that, you know, it feels like in some of the other wins that we've seen from Wyndham, there's been a little bit of surprise and almost rooted in the existing lack of self-confidence that he's been working on, right? Right? Not sure that he was supposed to be there. I think we all felt that about the U.S. Open win. That was one that Ricky almost won.

That was one that Rory could have won, right? Rory should have won. And I think he probably, in a quiet way, lives with that. Not to go too far down the rabbit hole, but there's a great piece that PJ Tour just put out today on Patrick Rogers. It's about 20 minutes of Patrick Rogers who has the longest, streak of starts on tour without a win, talking very openly and directly about that. Patrick Rogers was one of the best amateurs, not ever, but in a class with some of the greatest

that we've seen and came out and just, you know, he won 11 times in college and he's now been up on tour for 11 plus years and hasn't won. And talking about what that feels like with the expectations and how the lack of confidence eats at you. You can imagine that that hangover that Wyndham experienced after the U.S. Open when is real. But at some point, you got a man up and be, you know, be grown up. And I did see from him coming off the green, he's got a new person in his life. He's got, you know, people around him. You hope that he's through the U-shaped part of the curve

and back to sort of a J-shaped curve going up and to the right. Am I being unnecessarily harsh? Am I being a dick? dude, like in demanding the contrition that I want? I don't think so, but I do think Wyndham's approach to this was to put out statements that were short and apologetic and then move on. And I think what the golf community wants. Well, I'm glad that worked for him. Exactly.

No, that's it. And I think he did in the wind talk about how he's really had to do a lot of work, but that it's coming around. And so, you know, I don't think you're wrong of that at all. And I also think, you know, we got to acknowledge, Wyndham Clark was the only player, regular player on the PGA tour this year who had not had at least one round

with two or more shots gained putting. He'd basically been the worst putter on tour this year. And all four rounds, he had more than two shots gained putting this week. So I think to be, what that tells me is, it's been there, and he's been sort of repeat. repeatedly walking into the wall and getting bounced back and not understanding how do I break through this thing because I'm seeing it. I'm just not seeing those results on the course. And that frustration builds.

But I think you're right. I mean, I think he's, I suspect that he will understand the opinion that you just expressed even more in victory. Because I do think this was not a hugely popular win in the golf Twitter sphere, for sure, because I think a lot of those people feel the same way you do. which is that, you know, fool me once, fool me twice, fool me four times and you kick in a locker. And at some point you've really got, as you say, you got work to do to rebuild the trust, that the story of the work on yourself is something more than, you know, a facade.

Yeah. And I mean, the nice thing is the talent speaks for itself. Like you now have these data points that show his ability. I mean, there had been as much. as he was questioning himself. I, you know, we also were wondering out loud, like is this version of,

of Wyndham, you know, was that just a, what's it called? Streaking Star kind of moment. Yeah. You know, yeah, flash in the pan. Right, right, exactly. Other names that caught my attention,

that will have my attention. Like to see Tony Fee now. Like to see Top Ten Tony back. in the mix. And you're going to hear his name again when we talk about our forecast for Colonial. It seems like maybe it's coming back around for him again a little bit. He finally, you know, had an off-the-tee game to go along with an approach game that, you know, he was top 20. He was third off-the-tee, 19th approach and 15th around the green. The putting is the difference between top 10 and, I mean, you know, inside the top 5.

He just shaved a little bit of loss in shots game putting, and he was T6. So this is what we like to see. You're exactly right that it feels like in particular the T game has been the problem for him. He just can't get these rounds started because he's been just wild. And there it was this week. So watch out. It was flat at the truest. So his last two outings have been better than most of what he's put on the board for the last year.

Anything to take away from Scotty's performance? No, I think this is a bit of a mercy F for Scotty playing this tournament. I mean, he and Jordan talked about it. Like they've got pressure that they put on themselves, but also that I'm sure the community wants to see them. These are Texas guys. And so they got to do it. And yeah, this is this the course where he's going to go flat out when we are, you know,

three weeks away from him going after the Grand Slam? I think probably not, right? Especially when you got Jack's place between now and then. But to me, I think there's every reason to think the game is in pretty good place. The number that I saw was eighth in putting on the week. And that that was the number that last go-round, that putter was failing him at the PGA. I mean, he just could not make the shorties. on this course where the putting was weird, like these were new greens and there were guys who

were hitting lines but not reading them correctly to see Scottie have a bunch of putts go in is probably portends very, very well. And I'm very interested to see him at Jack's place because I think I think he all season long has been laser focused on the U.S. Open. After Rory got the grand slam, I think somewhere in the back of Scottie's mind, he wants to be the guy. He's that competitive in his own way, in a humble way, after faith and family. But, you know, what do we, what do we hear from Rory when suddenly he woke up and realized Brooks had more majors than him? Yeah. And that he might not even be the, you know, highest major winner of his generation.

Scotty has got to keep grasping at those things to keep him going out and playing golf and keep driving him. The competition alone, I'm sure, fuels him. But I think there's a few things there that he's holding on to. So I'm excited. excited for this cycle of Scotty. I think all eyes are on the U.S. Open and what we saw this week is good. Well, the difference now is he can't roll out of bed and beat everybody by eight strokes at a venue that, you know,

he's not at that place right now. He played awesome golf and just lost to a couple other guys that are, you know. Windham shot a 60, which is the lowest final round on tour this year, like all props and flowers. Scotty shot six under, nothing to snooze at. but, you know, Wyndham beat him by five on Sunday, and he beat him by five in the tournament. So it's going to get you in those situations.

But I wouldn't expect that this was Scotty, you know, expending a whole lot of mental energy. Another top 20. You said, you mentioned Jordan Speeith. Another top 20 for Jordan. The Saturday 73 is inexplicable. And, you know, depending on your point of view, unforgivable. But it's okay. You know, he's still.

in search of still finding. I feel like I'm going to go ahead and bet him to win at Burkdale. Are you? I feel like I'm going to do it. I do think I'm going to do it. He can't win at Shinnecock. Here is zero percent chance,

and I would love for him to shove it right in my face. He had no chance whatsoever at Shinnecock, but man, I just feel like the vibes and all of it. Maybe it's just me, you know, craving a stupid story. I know. I just want to see four rounds. Four rounds. It's not too much to ask for. We're just not getting four rounds.

And I want to see him be transcendent in one area of the game. And we keep getting, you know. He's hitting the hell out of the ball off the tea now. Yeah, but I mean, you know, he's still finishing 20, 37th tea to green. So it's like that's fine and it's good enough for a top 20. But hey, I hope that people cashed in on the Grazerman top 10. There you go. Good job.

I hope people listen to us about Stephen Yeager. for a top 20. I hope people listened to us about Blades Brown. He in fact did go out and get his special temporary membership. I hope that people listened to us about Eric Van Roy. And for these off weeks, you've got to just pay attention to course history here. Eric Van Royen had done nothing all year, but last year he finished second. And we didn't think he was going to win the Dan Golf tournament.

But with all the junk in the trunk of this tournament, plus 400 was a top 20 bet you got to think about. So remember, momentum and course history makes so much difference for guys that have those streaky peaks, right? We're not talking about the Shefflers of the world. We're not talking about the seawoos of the world. We know what they have to do well. It's for some of these other guys where their odds get really long, there are those little opportunities. Well, another top 15 for our guy, Brooksie, and the most important thing is he's finally positive in strokes game putting. finally.

What is this the third putter of the year? 33rd strokes game putting, but it's a positive number. It's not a negative number for once, Nate, Doug. Yeah, I mean, there was a moment on Thursday where I really thought he was going to go win this tournament. But it became a massive sprint. He still is playing terrific, though. And I expect he dropped out a colonial.

That tells me that I think he feels pretty good about where he stands, working his way back into the points list. And do we suppose, do we presume he's got a sponsor invite into? Has he qualified into the memorial? I don't feel like he has. No, he hasn't. Does he want to play a memorial? He can't at this point.

Yeah, at this point. Because they still have the sponsor invites. I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think he can get one. I mean, what was. Oh, that's right. That was part of the condition. That's part of his deal is he can't get one.

Right. All right. I know. It was an interesting decision. I thought he might jump into the A on Swing Five because he's not that far out of it if he played this week. But he just, he's not going to do it.

So that's fine. That just tells me he's feeling confident and that he's going to be just fine. Well, I want Byron Nelson to be honored a little bit. We've got to figure out. We have a version of the schedule, Josh Carpenter, Sports Business Journal, on his Twitter right now with a confident prediction of what this tour schedule for 2027 is going to look like.

And it doesn't solve in particular the CJ Cup, Byron Nelson. And I just want to give a shout out again, CJ Cup, to their credit, they were had an event in Korea that the tour was playing. and it made sense there, their brand BBGO, and they to their, I'm telling you, man, I give them a lot of credit for sticking with, you know, this repositioning over to this venue at this weird time of the year. One free suggestion, by the way, tour,

whatever event you have a Memorial Day weekend, finish on Monday. What are we doing? What are we doing? Yesterday would have been great. Of course. Yeah, nobody's paying attention on Sunday, but Monday, everybody's getting their heads back around honoring and what a brilliant opportunity

to show your support for the U.S. Armed Services. And, you know, there is a lot of alignment between the tour and those. And look, it's a freebie. There's nothing else on. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it seemed like an obvious one. There's not much to take from the schedule house, except that herein lies the conundrum

that Brian Rolup has to work with and why he's got to blow some stuff up for 2028 and that the real changes are going to come then. We've moved the Byron Nelson up a little bit. We've moved API to after the players and switched it with Dural. Okay, I assume that's

because the weather gets progressively warmer the further north we go in Florida over time. So you'd rather start in Miami and move your way up to Orlando at API, hoping that the weather gets a little bit better. Maybe that's the the thinking, but there isn't really between the start of the season and the PGA championship,

a whole lot of substantive change, right? Yeah, and we are starting, there's no professional golf unless you are willing to wake up overnight and watch the DP World Tour early season stuff in the desert in the Middle East, which has got its own kind of appeal. I mean, that's fun. You can watch Rory and those boys do that stuff. That's their thing. But no professional golf until the third week.

at January. The kickoff event will be the American Express. We've gotten used to that being a bubble golf event. It's in its own, it's dome golf, right? It's a climate control of the environment basically. Speaking of a birdie fest. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how they designate these elevated events and what the qualification is because now you've only got two events assuming Amex and Tori are not elevated before Pebble and then Phoenix before, Genesis. So it may be that it's kind of a sprint and it's going to be who can play the best at Amex in the desert and then Tori with the rough, you know, the way that it usually is there to get in and get off to a good start. But you mean the handful of guys who could earn their way in.

Well, let me ask you this. You don't think that we're going to be with 120 player fields and and cuts in those events this upcoming season? I think we likely will be, but I think that there's going to be a lot of qualification to get into 71 to 120 still. Okay. Well, that's great. I mean,

that would make those first two events very exciting. You know, especially Tori, you know, a place that's hosted multiple majors. I agree with you that there isn't really much else to talk about. I wondered if they would have the PGA championship over Memorial Day weekend because that honestly would line up.

That would help that tournament with a brand. And that would help that tournament, especially with a Monday finish for that brand. But, you know, those folks are all in charge of their own way of, you know, coming up with how to make their tournaments appealing. And they can land wherever they want to land. It's totally fine. They don't want to finish on a Monday in Frisco, Texas. That's a Memorial Day weekend. Okay, fine.

We're still in Texas, dog speaking of texas we're going from mckinney we're still in the greater dallas fort worth area over to colonial um which by history at the beginning of the show we said is what the most prominent of all of the texas venues i mean again i'm begging the parisatmy pals help me out here there you go um but we i like colonial i like the style of golf um i like the the the visual of it i like the demands that it makes, narrow fareways, small greens, a renovation by Gil Hansen and Jim Wagner

in 2024, but it doesn't, I think it was just a modernizing. I don't think that they greatly revamped the routing or any of the basic attributes in terms of. Now, there is this idea. We've seen this. Guys are getting more and more comfortable with trying driver off the T. as opposed to just position playing and there are some dog legs that guys are inclined to take on with with greater frequency but the the you know predominant way of scoring here it's tough to make birdie at this golf course because you're it's positional and you need to just be strategic and it's the trees are still there you know people were complaining about you know wondering out loud at Aronimink, you know, let's see some trees and the guys are asking for trees where we get

plenty of trees. You're getting trees. Yeah. And it's not that dissimilar from like Harbortown and some of the courses that folks point out are similar in addition to Harbourtown. TPC Southwind up in the Greater Hartford area area. Sawgrass has like a corollary kind of thing playing wise. Southwind in Memphis or River Highlands?

Yes. Yes. Pardon me. River Highlands is this. You started thinking about food right away, I could tell. You understand. Yes. Anyway. So as we look at this, it's a decent field. Justin Thomas is playing golf this week at Colonial. Yeah, I mean, it is. It's a weird field, though, isn't it?

There is more at the top than I thought when I first saw the schedule come out or the field release. But there are a lot of guys who aren't playing. And that, I actually wonder how, if it puts a little bit of pressure on a few of these guys who are playing who need something. I mean, Ludwig is sitting there at the top of the odds board. He is. And, you know, the rest of the golf Twitter Adi are locked in to where we are with him, which is, man, you got to hold these leads on Sunday. That's it. Like, it's time to show that you can come in, dominate a golf tournament from start to finish.

So I think it is a lot of eyes on Ludwig right now as we get into the back part of the major season for me. I'm playing too well to not deliver. What do you think? I don't think this is a Ludwig golf course. That's the question. But he could certainly come out and win. And I would gladly drink a big glass of STFU juice, no problem at all. You don't like it.

I mean, you like it. It feels like a JT week, doesn't it? Well, I mean, he has history at this at this place. It feels like a JT week. Yeah, it's comfortable for him. And speaking of guys who, you know, we need four rounds from. He is back from injury. He's just back from injury.

So, you know, we're getting three solid rounds out of him, but not four. He's better off the T thus far this season. Driver's a little more consistent. And we know what he can do, short iron. and wedge-wise. So I just, I think he's coming in T3, 13th, and T-4, and that was at Doral Truest PGA Championship. Big Boyd tournaments with really good players.

He's just getting better each week. Last two weeks, he's basically been positive in all categories on shots gained. So it just, this is, of course, that he's comfortable with. and there's a weak field. I just, it's not that the only reason that I'm not talking myself even more into JT is that everybody's talking about JT, but it really does, it does feel like a JT week to me.

Well, another guy that I see popping up all over the place, everybody is talking about Tony Fienow. Yeah, we'll talk about it. Yeah, he just had that nice finish last week, at the CJ Cup down there in McKinney. And, you know, this is one of those ones where it just feels like maybe he's due. I don't know. I don't have a great, you know, thesis for Tony.

I love the off-the-tee work. It's just that that may not be there with this course, but I hear you. I think Tony's got to get his ass in gear. let's just be clear. Like, I know he wants to, but like, it's time for Tony to deliver. And I do think, like, he just smelled finally where his home is. It's top 10. So I'm with you that we are going to have another resurgence of top 10, Tony, here.

Okay. Well, then he's too good to be where he is. Let's let that be a top 10 pick. I'm going right back to the well with Greiserman. We made the case for him last week. He was, you know, strokes gained across all of the categories at the P.E. championship and then use that as a launch pad right into a nice performance for a top 10 top 20 this week that feels that's that's on my card that's a an auto should be i mean i feel the same way about

yager at plus 250 like he's playing very well this is a weak field plus 250 for a top 10 seems kind of like a no-brainer and then man i mean i saw johnny kefer last week uh top 10 and we have the keeper citing he's plus 310 for a top 20. Kiefer's problem has been the putter. And last week, we got good putting out of Johnny Kiefer. Like when Johnny Kiefer finishes 20th in putting, he was third on approach. So like all he needs and all he has needed this year

with really strong iron play is to figure out the putter. And it felt like on those greens, like maybe he did. So those are, I hear you, but that there is some interesting stuff down card, isn't there? Where there's some guys who just don't seem to quite be getting the respect that you might think based on Tom Hogi had a top 10 last week. Yeah, that's another guy.

He's plus 340 to top 20. This is his kind of place. This is his kind of place. The positional golf, ball striking golf. Seventh on approach, 12th in putting last week. Like, that's what we need here at Colonial. Tom Hogi traditionally a really strong ball striker. But like, he's won at Pable.

Like this is a guy who knows how to get something done. Those odds for a guy who seems to have some momentum. Just for a top 20. Yeah. He was. He was fourth in strokes game ball striking at this venue in 2024, Hogi. So that's why you get inside some of these little nuanced numbers. I should have mentioned with Fienau.

He loves this place. I mean, his history here, pre-re renovation and even post is super solid. Tide 35th or better in eight of his nine starts, two top five finishes at Colonial. So that's another. I have two Andrews on my card. I have an Andrew Novak and Andrew Putnam. Now I'm seeing Andrew Putnam gain a lot of acclaim across different of the folks, you know, smart folks out there.

It is the ball striking is the key for him. And then Andrew Novak has a very high rating in strokes gain T to Green on courses that fit the profile of Columbia. you know that this is a this is all a price play um novac it's it's a top 20 um he's not been putting well but he's all over the course of his career like average on on bent grass so you're saying you know if if you have the success teed a green and we get average putting out of him that's the thesis from novac for for a top 20 yeah well i alluded to earlier the last one of my card is Patrick Rogers. You got to watch this video where he talks about his family and how he sort of

framed it. You won't be able to do anything but root for him. And I look, I mean, he's sitting there for top 20 this week. He's sitting there at plus 310. And I look at his results. And you might go, okay, I see because he was T-47 at the Byron Nelson, he was cut at the PGA. I see why people are off him a little bit. But I think it's a hedge for me in the same way that Gary Woodland came out and talked about his struggle. I like this. Two weeks later, he won. Okay. I feel like Patrick talking, because talking about this, because every time he's featured on television, the announcer says, here's Patrick Rogers, who hasn't had a win, longest streak on tour of starts without a win. It sort of has become this thing that's affixed to him. And I know it, because I know who's

number two. He's in my family. But this year, at the truest, Patrick was T-24. At RBC Heritage, he was T-16. At the players, he was T-11. So he's gone into tournaments with these guys and hung in there this year and put out OK results. So I just wonder if there's going to be this sort of release where having talked about this thing publicly, that's the elephant in the room. and, you know, he's a guy who came in so heralded, and that's what's interesting about the story. If that doesn't lighten him up a little bit, and in a field like this, in a year in which he's certainly delivered good results against good fields, if we don't see something come with him this week. That's like Gary Woodland Memorial Hedge.

Well, I want to root for it, and I like it. You mentioned your brother, who was second in the field in strokes gained approach, which I hoped was going to translate into one very specific thing. This will be the closing note on the CJ Cup. Are you aware that they had on offer for anybody that made an ace on what was that whole? 16. What was the short?

17. Yeah. The shortest part three that they encircled with the stand. If anybody made an ace on offer was a $40,000 feast of Korean food. Did Mark Herbert? barbecue. Right. 40,000. Because I would have come. We would have brought everybody.

Everybody, I don't know how much $40,000. How do you get there? Like, how many people have to show up to spend $40,000? Are we having Wagyu? Are we having Korean Wagyu and Korean Caval? We need an immediate emergency call to tell him. Dave Chang, that's exactly right. He asked to tell us how he spent $40,000 in Korea. need to come up with an answer to this.

Jay Chang can figure out how to do that, I'm sure. Well, I mean, the feast that he put on for all of our good friends and family at the Masters last year, and hopefully we'll have a repeat of that in this upcoming 2027 season.
