Starting point is 00:02:14 Look at it go. Oh man. I can't even see it. Hi Joelle. How are you? I'm so good. Is this, it's our show now? We own it? It's our show now. Oh yeah. Yeah. They're, they're, they're off doing something else. It's our show now. Hello everybody. I am DJ Daniel, and with me is the ever, this way, is the ever-talented, wonderful Joelle Monique. Thunderous applause in the chat for Joelle Monique one time. Joelle, how are you doing right now? Listen, today has been one of those days where I'm just so anxious and excited, and I had to smoke a bowl way early this morning to calm down and really get the leisure focus in there. But I'm so excited. It's going to be so much fun.
Starting point is 00:02:49 You guys, we have so much. You're not prepared for the amount of stuff we're about to jam pack in the next two hours. We got some stuff. Yes, we definitely have two hours of a lot of fun to do today. Before we start that, we want to draw your attention to some straw polls. Joelle, do you want to tell them how the straw polls are going to work yes okay so we created a test straw poll for you guys so our question our opening question to you guys is do you watch the scrub show while you listen to the recap podcast so you can just jump to this link right now and let us know and we're going to
Starting point is 00:03:21 cover these results later but of course the main, the main reason for this season is because y'all are going to pick a date for me tonight. It's going to be really exciting. It's going to be so much fun. I'm thinking. I'm stoked. Listen, but obviously we're bearing the lead here. You guys came here to see the two kings. Us.
Starting point is 00:03:40 To see our lords and saviors. Sorry, my bad. Yes, that's right. Should we give them a proper introduction? Yeah, let's do this. Zach is the king of emotion. He will direct
Starting point is 00:03:53 the hell out of a movie. He's going to make your gut split with laughter and fun times. Donald is going to sin to you sexually. He's going to bring his Hershey Kisses nipples in here. He's going to send to you sexually. He's going to bring his Hershey Kisses nipples in here. He's going to stun us all
Starting point is 00:04:09 with his amazing, just vivacious energy. I want y'all to get hyped. That's fantastic. Well, I guess, ladies and gentlemen, all folks and friends of the Fake Doctors podcast, make some noise for the legends themselves, zach graff and
Starting point is 00:04:25 donald faze on keep it going what's up oh my god it's good man oh my god i can't believe this is happening you guys i have not wiped been able to wipe this smile off my face all day i'm excited i'm nervous i can't believe we actually did this there's a lot of nervous energy going on with me right now like i got i got goosebumps man like i i've been thinking about this all day joelle i heard an intro that you smoked a bowl do you want to tell them all I tried to FaceTime all y'all and get y'all in on a session, but none of y'all wanted to join me? I was the only one who picked up.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Casey was in the background going, I told him not to. And I was like, not too much because we can't edit this. There's no clipping or cutting around things. I know. We had a whole conversation. We had a whole conversation with Donald. Like, look, there's no editing. So, like, let's talk about the level of how high you should be.
Starting point is 00:05:30 But my whole thing was I haven't been sober once doing this as far as weed goes. I haven't been. And so I'm not going to be this time. I did smoke a bowl earlier. Okay, good. You had your medicine. Hey, everybody. We're so glad you're here.
Starting point is 00:05:44 We had talked about, you know, if you've listened to the show, as I imagine you do, we had talked right off the bat, as you know, joking about like, oh, we're going on a world tour once the pandemic's over. How cool. Donald and I will finally live our dream to be like touring rock musicians in a tour bus. And then the pandemic. So then we said, oh, maybe we'll do it virtually. We never were able to do it. And I just feel so grateful that we're here. And I'm so grateful that you are here and that you came.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And we're going to give you the best show ever. We have put work into this. We're not fucking around. Right, Donald? No, we're not messing around. This is real deal Holyfield. Listen, the energy that it took. I've been watching this episode for like, I've seen it like four times already.
Starting point is 00:06:26 That's the most I've watched the scrubs episode ever. Ever. Just ever. Look, I'm really excited for this one. We got great guests. We've got a good list. Don't give anything away. Don't give any secrets away.
Starting point is 00:06:38 You guys have pages of notes. Like this is a real, you know, when we do the podcast, we watch the show. But this is a live show across the globe. We've done homework. We have guests. We have a joy. Let me talk about what's going to happen. Get into it.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Let's start it. Okay. So we're going to recap my quarantine for you guys. Okay. That's the episode. Okay. And we have special guest Bill Lawrence, who we're going to bring on in one second. We have Florence Pugh is going to teach you how to make a martini, I believe.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Don't give it away. You just told me not to give it away. And then here you go just starting. You're the biggest snitch ever, man. You're not supposed to talk over this. Well, okay, full disclosure. I think Florence on her socials had said to her people, like, I'm going to be on. I thought I was out there in the zeitgeist.
Starting point is 00:07:30 But, okay, pretend I didn't say that. We've got somebody. You know that thing they use in Men in Black that they hold up and you forget? Yeah. Pretend I'm holding that up, okay? And then most excitingly, of course, we're going to recap the show. And then we're going to do a find Joelle a lover segment, which I'm very excited about.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Look how beautiful you look. You look outstanding. You always look outstanding. No, I know, but I mean. I think we should get a thunderous applause for the queen of all things. I got it, Daniel. The sound powder works. I got it.
Starting point is 00:08:03 You do look beautiful. I'm going to tell you that right now. Thank you. I think this was work. This took time. So I really appreciate the validation. You look really pretty. Wonderful.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And then there's a lot more I don't want to ruin because now Donald made me nervous I'm going to ruin shit. All right. So we have a very special – well, how do you want to 5, 6, 7, 8 this time, Donald? How do you want to – it's your thing. How do you want to launch six seven eight this time donald why how do you want to how do you it's your your thing how do you want to launch into the very special version of the theme song what are you talking about just let's go five six seven eight oh shit here's some story here's some story here's some here's some you do it live welcome to the the show, guys and girls.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Or however you identify. The world is up with us tonight. This shit about to be lit. Y'all throw your lighters in the sky. Here's a story about a show we made. Back in the day when I was young, I wish I was still that age. But some days, I think it's crazy what we did. Like in this episode episode they quarantined the
Starting point is 00:09:05 hospital danny got it right she says star sucks and i agree with her jd got a new girl and he also got jungle fever turk finds out carla went on a date with cox so in his mind carla probably cox doug and ted fight for the right to sim for danny nurse roberts has a face cake and it's wanted by so many but she's so freaking stingy, she said nobody can have any. And Mick has reversed cow, girl, you're welcome, send me. There's so much to discuss. There's so much to discuss. There's only one rule.
Starting point is 00:09:32 That's have fun and it's a must. If you can't do that, then you can't fuck with us. Fake doctors, real friends, it's about to bust. All up on your dick like a... Oh my God. I went too far, i digress on this yo start it up five six seven eight here's some stories about a show we made about So gather round to hear our, gather round to hear our Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald. Mmm.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Radio! Wow. Radio! Brilliant. Wow. So much to say, but first let's welcome the legend, the reason we all are here, Mr. Bill Lawrence, Thunderous Appointment. Good to see you guys.
Starting point is 00:10:32 How are you? Good to see you. Sorry, I'm conflating two things. Bill, welcome, but Donald, that rap, holy shit, that was amazing. You're a very nice gentleman and a scholar for saying that. I like how you broke it down, sir. Well, you know, I'm going to say this. I will say this.
Starting point is 00:10:49 It's not my best rap, but it's the happiest rap you've ever gotten on a fake doctor's real friends ever. We'll take that. We've never, we've, I said that to Daniel. I was like, we've always been real like RZA with everything, where it's like Wu-Tang forever. Play it. Very. Oh, sorry. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:11:07 What are you doing? Bro, I've been busy. I never got around to labeling the soundboard. I have to look and then Wu-Tang Forever. Do rehearsal now. No one's watching, Bill. It's fine. On my computer it says 600,000 people.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Oh my God. That's crazy. 600,000 people. Oh my God. 600,000 people. That's bananas. Bill, tell everyone the conversation you witnessed when you came over. Tomorrow, we're
Starting point is 00:11:39 recording the Family Feud. The five of us are going to be on a team for Family Feud. Tell them we're going up again. We're playing Neil Flynn, who plays the janitor's recording the family feud. The five of us are going to be on a team for family feud. Tell me what we're going up against. And we're playing Neil Flynn, who plays the janitor's improv group. Yeah, janitors. And so it's going to be hilarious. And unfortunately, it doesn't air until the summer,
Starting point is 00:11:58 so you'll have to wait, but it's going to be hilarious. Anyway, we all had to get tested. They came over to my house, everyone, so everyone could be tested. And then, Bill tell tell everybody what you overheard the debate about donald remember yeah it's a couple things first joelle you look amazing i'm sorry that zach insinuated that you don't look amazing all the time i know what it sounded like right yeah it's definitely what it sounded like that's the first oh my god she's got the multiple dates and i built by the, it's every day. And then I was waiting for you guys. I went on Twitter, and there's someone named Eleanor Samararo that said – I might get the name wrong, but I don't care because she said Bill Lawrence might be on there,
Starting point is 00:12:34 but I don't care if Zach and Donald are the soul. And so, Eleanor, I know you're watching. She said you're watching. Dead to me. It's ridiculous. I still love you, Eleanor. He's our fans. Hey, the show stops
Starting point is 00:12:49 until Eleanor clicks off, and I can see everybody that's on here. Eleanor, we love you. Eleanor, you stay on. I see. You just came on, and you're kicking out audience members. I got a lot of names that have to go.
Starting point is 00:13:04 This is not a big deal. By the way, I came on second. Was Ryan Reynolds on yet or is he coming on later? No, Ryan Reynolds was not on yet. Don't let down the audience, please. What are you doing? Bill, bring it down and now tell everyone about the conversation. You don't tell me what to do. You don't tell me what to do.
Starting point is 00:13:27 You might not tell me what to do on my podcast. I went over to Zach's house. And where you think two adults would be rehearsing and talking about the tech aspects of the show with Daniel and Joelle, they were arguing as to what level of high Donald could be on their live show. And it made me realize that you two are adults and how proud I am. I think you were doing numerical values, like you'd be like a seven high, but not an 11 high.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Donald was being so earnest because he was like, well, I've always done the show high. I don't want to do it at zero. Like I need to be at four. At least at six. At least at six. Like he was doing it for the show, you mean. Right. Well, listen, man.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Okay, I'm going to be honest with y'all. There was a bit, there's a bit of exaggeration when I said I did the whole thing, run of Scrubstone. Like, it wasn't the whole run. It was like season three, four, like when. It's like 140 out of 180 episodes. Exactly. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Bill, show everyone you're wearing new Ted Lasso swag that isn't even out yet. Everyone's going to want their Ted Lasso swag. You can't buy this yet. By the way, you guys never give me any of your merch. I would wear your merch all the time. We're going to trade merch. I will rock that
Starting point is 00:14:45 Lasso shirt. This will be Zach's. And that will be Oh, Charlotte. Oh, wait. Show us the back of the jersey. What does it say? The back of the jersey says it's pretty solid, man.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I'll get this one for you. Back of the jersey. Boom. Oh, my God. Yes. I need that, Bill. Please. They're not out. Excuse me. They're not out yet. So if you're clamoring for them, when do they come out, Bill?
Starting point is 00:15:11 When does everyone get it? You know what, man? I think it's not up to us, but I bet you Apple releases them and puts them out in different places before the second season premieres. All right. Well, I'm very excited to have one. What about the Charlotte Lawrence? What about the Charlotte Lawrence? What about the Charlotte Lawrence?
Starting point is 00:15:25 Oh, wait, he's got another outfit. Oh, he's got another outfit. Are you going to have another shirt? I do, but I,
Starting point is 00:15:30 by the way, I couldn't fit three shirts on because I got a little fat during quarantine. That was the other shirt. Is that one? Is that all? Hey! Yeah! Bill,
Starting point is 00:15:38 you might not even realize the genius tie-in you're doing because in this episode, my quarantine, it opens with that joke about JD having the different layers of outfits on and they only work all together that's where i got the idea dude okay god you're good i'm just fat i couldn't do four t-shirts i got the t-shirt i'm actually wearing on under this one it's okay it's all gonna be fine well i don't have on my sheet bill i don't have on my sheet bill's strips. The classic Bill Lawrence look. There we go.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Classic Bill Lawrence look. That is, if everyone wants to know where JD did the layered T-shirt, it's all classic Bill. That is how Bill dresses every day, the layered T-shirt. A solid 52 years, yeah, man. All right, well, Joel, why don't we start with our first segment and ask Bill, do you have any questions from the chat? Now, if you're in the chat, do you have any questions for Bill?
Starting point is 00:16:30 You know we like to do Ask Bill. Well, now's your chance. If you're in the audience, is that one for me, Joelle, for Bill? Yeah. Good one. Okay. Bill, do not look at the chat. You are a guest on the show.
Starting point is 00:16:44 This is our chat, dude. We've been through this before. My eyes are very blue. Thank you, whoever that is. That's very cool. No one said that. This is the first question for Bill. Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:16:59 How long did it take you all, this is for all of us, but Bill, you'll start with you, to realize the therapeutic impact Scrubs had on the audience. It's gotten me through a lot of difficult times. And I hear I'm sure you guys hear this all the time. So many people write us very genuinely, not joking at all, saying that it got them through very sad times of their life. And this person saying it got me through difficult times and I could relate on so many levels. It's Stephanie from Montreal, Quebec. So, Bill, at what point did you realize that the show was having a therapeutic effect on people? It was really pulling a lot of people out of shitty times in their life. Just now from Stephanie. No, the, for real, you know, social media was just starting
Starting point is 00:17:38 to be a thing back then. And it was more though there's websites. You guys remember it was like TV without pay and stuff like that. And you can go and read threads. And we were so, you know, genuinely grateful and still are that people cared about the show emotionally, but you guys know you had him on as a guest. I always give props to the real JD because he and his wife,
Starting point is 00:17:57 Dolly, you know, the medical advisors in the show and doctors, it was kind of based on, he had one rule for me. He's like, you can steal any of my stories and you can do anything that you want want but these people always have to give a shit and they always have to be of service and be trying their best to help sick people um and so you know i i think just kind
Starting point is 00:18:16 of seeing that emotional ethos you know on screen it means so much to me that it moves people still sometimes you know yeah me too i i i i'm always taken aback by some of the things people write me um on dms or even in public they'll say like you know so you know a lot of people say hey man love the show and then some people are like no you don't understand like i was in a shitty time of my life and it it really helped me and and uh and just know that we that we that means so much to us and we're're so grateful when you say that stuff. But not just – From people in the medical field also, the amount of gratitude that we've received also, just thanking – just the thanks that we get from them. Like I have a lot of people that come to me.
Starting point is 00:18:58 When I was a medical student, I was – you know, scrubs really got me through school or it really helped me out in the beginning of my internship. And that's always, first of all, how the heck were you able to watch it during your internship with all the hours that you had to work? But like, he just answered back
Starting point is 00:19:19 that person, I'm not that great a doctor. He just said that. He didn't. Well not that great a doctor. You just said doctor. He didn't. He didn't. Well, Donald, that's a good segue into everyone from the medical field who I imagine a lot of people are watching. We, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for being the heroes that you are and for being frontline workers during this insane time.
Starting point is 00:19:40 And we hope you know we sort of ceremoniously dedicate this show to all of you because you know, I think Bill's Bill's scripts were, were meant to, to show what, what, what heroic people these are. Little did we know that we'd be going through a time like the last year, but thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of you who happen to be watching. Fondest applause. Don't worry. I got it on the soundboard.
Starting point is 00:20:06 All right, good. Do people know that you keep that active at your house at dinner parties and stuff? Yes. You know, I had to get Daniel finally figured out the tech to have it work on the podcast, but I think now I'm going to have it throughout my house so I can just walk around. We'll work on that. Thank you. Thank you, Daniel. Okay, here's another question. Bill. Yes. If Ted Lasso was a patient at Sacred Heart, why do you think he was admitted and what kind of shenanigans would Turk and JD
Starting point is 00:20:39 get into with him? Look, I mean, look, that's ap apropos at least because the episode we just saw you're so obsessed with lani's mustache and how quickly he was able to grow that thing i mean you would find ted lasso's mustache just glorious yes if i had to write an episode right now it would probably be some kind of mandible or jaw issue that there was a chance you would have to shave that thing off and, and do a story like the way that they used to do stories about whether or not you try to save someone's leg about saving Ted's mustache. You know, and the happy ending would be like, sorry, I'm sorry, Ted, in order to fix the thing in your, ums, we're going to have to remove the mustache.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I will roll the dice with my life before I cut this thing off. That's what Ted would go with, by the way. This is a good one. Jeff Holzer, if you had to create characters for Daniel and Joelle on Scrubs, what characters would you create for them? Very good question, Jeff. All right. By the way.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Daniel, does the question honor you? Don't worry. I got it. I got it on the soundboard, Daniel. You honor me. It's pretty easy. I'd go, Joel, you guys know, is going to be in charge of the hospital. She'd be the only one that Bob Kelsey's afraid of.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yep. He'd be laying down the law. I got to go with Daniel as part of the janitor's brain trust. I'm so down for that. With Troy and Marty. Crazy eyes, Margo.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Crazy eyes, Margo. What name would his character have? Same name. DJ Daniel. DJ Daniel. Because Neil Flynn going, you guys know Crazy Eyes Margo and you know DJ Daniel. Neil Flynn going, you guys know crazy guys Margo and you know DJ Daniel. Awesome. Oh my God, that'd be so
Starting point is 00:22:30 funny. And I can picture him in the egg salad kitty bath with Troy and the janitor. I would love to have seen Joel come in and just fuck some shit up though, man. I would love to have come in and fucked some shit up. Oh my God. Kelso afraid of Joel? It would be fucking hilarious. Yeah, that would shit up. Oh, my God. Kelso afraid of Joelle?
Starting point is 00:22:45 It would be fucking hilarious. Yeah, that would be funny. All right, here's a good one from Max Firstman. Bill, face cake played a big part in this episode. Was it a thing on set before this episode, or did it become a thing? Where did your obsession with face cake come from, Bill? No, that was just the writer's room. Somebody, for one of their birthdays, had a cake with their face on it and i maintain the only thing that makes a birthday cake better is if you get to eat that person's face
Starting point is 00:23:12 that became a writer's room obsession with face cake and as all room bits eventually made their way into the show someone was like everybody in the hospital should be obsessed with face cake. I remember there being one writer in the room would be like, but it doesn't taste any different than normal cake. That's not the point. In this episode, Nurse Roberts is like, it looks like you've got some of my neck.
Starting point is 00:23:38 What is it she says? You've got my face on. You've got my neck on your thumb. Nurse Roberts is able to recognize a piece of her neck on Kelso your thumb. Nurse Roberts is able to recognize a piece of her neck on Kelso's thumb. But to make sure she puts the thumb in her
Starting point is 00:23:52 mouth and sucks it up. This does not end well for you. I love stuff in Scrubs Bill where it's like everyone says a term like face cake, which isn't a term I heard of outside of Scrubs. Everyone knows it.
Starting point is 00:24:09 They're like, is that face cake? That is the only way to make it work is that everyone in the hospital loves face cake. And they knew there was a face cake up there. Otherwise, it's just some idiot. Last question. Last question of this segment. Before the last question. Yeah, go, go, go, go.
Starting point is 00:24:25 I had a question. Okay. This is Simon. Bill, we saw a flash forward of J.D., Elliot, Turk, Carl, and Cox Jordan in the finale. What did the janitor's future look like as a hypothetical narrative in your mind? And don't say he went on to have a family like the middle. Like the middle, yeah. It's too easy.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Gosh, you know, I want to believe. Yeah, well, no, I really do want to believe that the janitor is still. I'll tell you for real that Neil Flynn still wears the wardrobe and roams around Studio City just talking to people. Same as a lot of Starbucks, just living life as that guy. We're going to see him tomorrow on Family Feud. How funny would it be if he came in costume? He's not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Do you guys think his name is, because I answered someone on Twitter, do you think his name is Glenn Matthews? That's the one that, no, but then what does he say? Then someone else walks by walks back he finally says it's glenn matthews and he said that easy and he says you never asked and by the way that's a good easter egg we made sure that jd never once in nine years asked the janitor his name uh and the janitor's like anybody asked me my name, I'll tell them Glenn Matthews, and then DeJounte walked by and he said, hey Tony and he goes, hey
Starting point is 00:25:47 Yeah, but in your mind you just, I think you told me before that that just meant that he to DeJounte's character, like he had lots of different names, right? Yeah, because it was the stuttering guy it was the guy that stuttered, yeah, Ephraim Ephraim
Starting point is 00:26:03 A lot of people have told me he also had to be Neil Flynn because he was in The Fugitive, which is another fake name of the janitors. Right, right. And then we decided his name was Glenn Matthews, and we decided as a writing staff and was an Easter egg, we never gave people hints from, we named him on Clone High, where he also was animated and played the janitor named Glenn.
Starting point is 00:26:25 That's amazing. Okay, so what, in your mind, what is his name? I mean, I feel like no one's ever... His name is Glenn Matthews. All right, it's Glenn Matthews, everyone. You heard it here on the Live Fake Doctors show. Wow. There you go.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Glenn Matthews. Let's see what else I got. Wait, wait, wait. Daniel, this is a timeout. Can we do 5, 6, 7, 8 live ever? No, no, no, no, no. Turn it off, Daniel. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it, this is a timeout. Can we do 5, 6, 7, 8 live ever? No, no, no, no. Turn it off, Daniel. I'm not going to do it.
Starting point is 00:26:48 I'm not going to do it. It's a timeout. But it does work? It works, but we're asking you to obey the rules of the show. I was asking about time in 5, 6, 7, 8. Let's get it done. 5, 6, 7, 8. Daniel.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Come on. It's like I'm programmed. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Did you actually hit it? I didn't even hear it. We were quick to it. We were too quick. Alright. Now we're going to go. Bill, stop it. Bill! Here's some stories! All right. Now we're going to go. Bill, stop it. Bill.
Starting point is 00:27:27 You're so sorry. You're so sorry. Yeah. Yeah. I heard it that time. Oh, my God. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Now we're going to go to a very special thing. I'm going to skip the – Joelle, in my script, I'm going to skip the next segment for a moment and go to – So, guys, the band that wrote our theme song, Laszlo Bain and the lead singer is my friend Chad, and he sent a very special little something something for all of you so
Starting point is 00:28:09 here we go Kyle cue it I can't do this all on my own I need Zach Raff and Donald Faison cause I know that. I love that.
Starting point is 00:28:46 I think it's a great time to talk about Star Wars now, though. No, no, no, no. Wait, no? Wait, I didn't say this. No, Donald, no. No? But he's such a fan of the podcast, and he listens, and he sent that to me.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I didn't even request it. He said, I love what you guys are doing, and I made you a little special something, and I obviously threw in the Star Wars for you my friend chad i love you did he write that song for the show or when because i remember you telling me about him or did the song exist and then we put it in the show um that song i loved you know chad and i are friends and lazlo bane was a great uh band and um and i said to you um you know i the lyrics of this song are so perfect for already existed. It was it was awesome. I remember you playing it for me.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Yeah, I was like the whole idea of like, I can't do this on my own. I'm no Superman. I need this. You know, it just seemed like the whole the whole show was in that song and you loved it. And and, you know, for those of you who don't know that it's a that it's a full song, obviously, it's not just our intro song. It's called I'm No Superman. And you can – if you actually – if you go on YouTube, I directed the music video for it. So we did it. I wrote the song with Chad.
Starting point is 00:29:53 It's something I'm really, really proud of. Two of us just crushed it. Oh, and there's my girl, Billie, making her first cameo. That dog barks, man. You got to get that dog out of there if that dog starts barking. She's so good. We were there for an hour and she was so sweet and quiet. Billy is a queen.
Starting point is 00:30:11 She's not going to bark. Anyway, so we made a music video that was really fun and if you want, you can find it on YouTube. It's called ... It's probably called Superman.
Starting point is 00:30:26 I think it's called Superman or anything. Anyway, the video is hilarious. Before we recap the series, we're about to have a special guest who's going to come in. Special guest, are you ready? Special guest. Well, um special guest well that was
Starting point is 00:30:47 special guest is still is still setting up let's start to talk about until special guest is ready let's start talking a little bit about this wonderful episode I hope you guys watch oh wait Joelle should we check in with the poll to see what people have answered
Starting point is 00:31:08 on the do they watch live with us thing? Kyle, can you put that up? Okay. Wow. All right. Okay. Okay. Wow.
Starting point is 00:31:19 The majority of people do. Seems like a lot of people do. We need more of you to vote. Okay. Because there's all, you know, let's get some more votes. Dude, it's not going to, but we need more of you to vote. Okay? Let's get some more votes. Dude, it's not going to get to the end of the thing, though, is it? I don't know. Well, anyway, they're voting right now. Oh, look, the votes are coming
Starting point is 00:31:34 in. Okay. It's coming in fast. Kyle, do you want to say hi? This is Kyle, who's in charge of all the video aspect of this. Kyle, do you want to pop on? Kyle is a legend. Kyle? I'll give you a thunderous applause. That's Kyle, everyone is a new member of the live version Of Fake Doctors Real Friends
Starting point is 00:31:55 Whenever we do a live version of Fake Doctors Kyle most likely will be with us What's that? Now it's time for a special guest Daniel I'm going to have to unplug my headphones. I hope that's going to be okay. Is that going to be okay? Cause I, both me and the special guests need to be able to hear.
Starting point is 00:32:10 50 chance. It ends the podcast, but not. We might all explode, but I think it'll be okay. Okay. We're going to try. Oh, Hey now. Hey now.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Hey now. Hey now. Hey now. Hey now. Hey now. She's ready. Hey now. Thunders applause, please. Thunders applause. All right. Now, listen, y'all. You may know that you're going to put it right here, darling.
Starting point is 00:32:37 I'm going to move it. You guys may know that Florence is a really great chef. Well, she's. And down. Florence is on fire. I, she's... I think she's... I think she's... Is she okay? Oh, I like that. Oh, you can't see my amazing cocktail bar.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I'll back up the camera. That's a tray of Friday night right there. Now you are going to have a quick lesson, our guests, on how to make a martini. Okay? No, not just a martini. All right, baby, tell them what they're gonna get. Have Florence likes her martini.
Starting point is 00:33:11 That's the kind of martini that you're learning about. Are you changing the angle? Yeah, I'm backing up a little bit. Okay. All right, so first, you need a good vodka. Your vodka of choice. Am I going to hear like this? Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Am I looking to the audience? Okay, number two. Let's all have bottles of that vodka, Grey Goose, please. Or whoever that is. Show the label so we all get free vodka. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Please give us free vodka. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:39 We love Grey Goose. Grey Goose. Yay. I can make a jingle about Grey Goose. Okay, let's do this. Don't do that. I'm still wearing a suit too. No, I just put a jacket on.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I'm really wearing Radio Rahul on my shirt. Still not in the house. You look good. Oh, cool. That's from Do The Right Thing. And look how beautiful Joelle looks. I know. I've noticed the eye makeup.
Starting point is 00:34:02 That's wonderful. Thank you, Flo. Beautiful eye makeup. Bill, where's your eye eye makeup i'm doing the best i can you guys put on my glasses which is a a gesture that i want to see every little thing that you do here also for a second i thought you were wearing a wedding dress and i panicked and then i put my glasses on no it does look a bit mid-summery, doesn't it? Now that I'm looking at it in the lens. Anyway, Dan, I like your shirt too. Don't worry, I didn't miss you.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Back to a martini, how Florence likes it. Second, you need a good glass. Make sure you have a nice martini glass. Respect the drink. Now, usually I take this out of the freezer just before I pour the vodka in. So instead, I've taken it out of the freezer and put some ice in it so that it's still chilled.
Starting point is 00:34:49 You are going to fill up your cocktail shaker with some ice. With one single ice pick, which will take a long while, but that's okay. I'm going to use my hand, but I'm drinking it so it's technically okay all right and ice is like face cake it's all good then you're going to pour in said amount I'm gonna say that amount fingers crossed that's okay. That sounds good to me. So this is where I imagined music would be playing. Yeah, Daniel, put that song back on. You know what song I like?
Starting point is 00:35:32 Daniel, you know what song I like. Not gonna judge you when you're with somebody else, long as you swear. You don't be pissed when I do it myself. Let's make my nation and say we're good. No, Daniel, the other do a song.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I don't love it. Oh my God. Which do a song? You guys want it at a time. Don't start now, maybe? Yeah, because it's complicated. It's all wacky. Which do a leap of song you want?
Starting point is 00:36:00 The one we entered to just while she's shaking. Some shaking music. I'll go off so that it's a really cool entrance. Okay. You want levitating. You want levitating. Ladies and gentlemen, friends of the Fake Doctors podcast, make some noise for the wonderful, the talented,
Starting point is 00:36:15 Lord Buse! Get it, get it. Wow. Keep going, keep going, keep going. And then you're going to open it. And then you're going to put this little strainy thingy on. Before you do that, you're going to tip your ice out. You're going to wipe the inside of the glass with some lemon peel.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Now, I don't like vermouth in my martini. Apologies. But this is a martini as Florence likes it. And then you're just going to shake your goodness right into there. Wow. I want it. Wow. Good for you. I'm going to tell you something right now that's not fair because I wanted to have
Starting point is 00:37:16 some type of cocktail or some of God's wonderful lettuce. And I wasn't able to do any of that for this podcast because I was ridiculed by Zach. Zach told me not to do it. And freaking, well,
Starting point is 00:37:31 you guys kind of put the you're not supposed to have fun on me situation. Donald, would you like to show everyone how you pack a ball? No. I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:37:49 But technically it's allowed when I have it because I'm not on the podcast, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no one's going to see a tits. All right, thunderous applause, everybody. In your homes for my gal, Florence. And I'm in the room. You now know how I like it.
Starting point is 00:38:05 There we go. That's what's up. I know how to make you a martini. Thanks, baby. I got you. Killed it, baby. Look, that was awesome. And she's the best and cutest and funniest guest star on the planet.
Starting point is 00:38:18 And I've seen her cook before. She's great at it. But I'm pretty sure that recipe was vodka and ice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it is. It is. That's a bigger conversation. It's literally the first recipe I was able to remember
Starting point is 00:38:31 right after. Hang on a second. Let's have a bigger conversation. A martini is just vodka and ice. Just because you spray a bit of vermouth in it doesn't make it any weaker. It is just vodka over ice. Hey, there's no judgment here. I'm happy that I can remember the rest.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Hey, Bill, do you know how to make a martini? I do. I do. You get a bucket of vodka. You won't be able to hear, though, baby. It's the only thing. Can I have a set of peppers, Shania? Daniel didn't give me another set of peppers.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Fuck the peppers, Daniel. Daniel, will it mess up the sound if I play this just out of my laptop so she can hear? Probably. We may try to work it out. We'll hear it. We'll hear it all through everybody. We'll hear it through the microphone.
Starting point is 00:39:19 It'll be a little bit of the doubling. Who knows how much noise it's going to affect it. Well, we'll see. We tried that. If she plugs headphones into the line out, will that work? Of the A6? Yeah. We should probably do 40 or 45 minutes.
Starting point is 00:39:33 You'd have to change the audio output and the mic. Why do you fuck everything up? No. I think you might only hear saxophone. My day was filled. Did that work or no? You got the kids?
Starting point is 00:39:47 You got Rocco on basketball now? Oh, dude. By the way, how big is he now? Can he actually dribble a ball handle? Is he old enough to do that stuff? Yeah, he's starting to watch basketball on TV, so he likes Anthony Davis and LeBron James. It's the dream come true, man.
Starting point is 00:40:04 You can wake your kid and take him out of bed to watch ESPN or sports with you at night. It's just good. I love it. I love it. It's starting to happen slowly but surely. He's really into soccer, and he's really into basketball. It'll be like when Zach eventually takes his kids out
Starting point is 00:40:20 to a case in Oklahoma and stuff, you know? What's going on? I don't know what they're doing. All right, you guys, let's get into the show. All right, let's do it. We're talking about episode... What's the number, Joelle, from My Quarantine? I think 16. I think it's season
Starting point is 00:40:39 four, episode 16, right? Go with it. The Discord will know. Bill, explain to everyone there's a term in Hollywood called there's Rocco. Say hi, Rocco. Hey, Rocco.
Starting point is 00:40:54 What is up? You like basketball? Yeah. Hey, dude. How you doing? They're asking you questions. I don't know if you can hear me. Hey, Rocco. What's up, man? Hey, dude. How you doing? They're asking you questions. I don't know if you can hear me. Oh, I'm sorry. Hey, Rocco. What's up, man?
Starting point is 00:41:07 Hey, dude. I'm doing good. You're doing good? Mm-hmm. How many does your dad tell you to shoot whenever you touch the ball at basketball? His mom's probably downstairs like this. Rocco, every time you touch the ball in your basketball game, does your dad yell, shoot?
Starting point is 00:41:29 Don't say the shoot. Almost. Yeah. You know where that comes from? What do I like when you do the most? What do I like when you do? Shoot. Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:41:37 That's what I ask you. When I touch a ball, you say shoot. That's right. I wouldn't touch this basketball thing and say, okay, shoot it, please. You just summed up your dad's personality. I love it. Every time you touch a ball, you got to shoot. Shoot the shot.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Well, I never saw a shot I didn't like. You got to go, kid. All right, you got to go. You got to go. We love you. I love you, my godson. You can give me a hug and a kiss. I'll take one. My kids are all older, but as you guys kiss, I bring them to my neighbor's house. You can give me a hug and a kiss. I'll take one.
Starting point is 00:42:05 My kids are all older, but as you guys kiss, I bring them to my neighbor's house. Here comes Wilder. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Get Casey in here. Get Casey in here. You're all saying hi. Hi, Wilder.
Starting point is 00:42:20 Hi. Hi. I love you, but give me a kiss. Bye-bye. You okay? Hi. Okay. Hi. I love you. Bye-bye. You okay? Anyway. Okay, let's get back. Let's refocus.
Starting point is 00:42:31 You know what makes me so sad? Before you go, I just watched that. I got emotional. This is true. My daughter's 20. She's not going to live here. My son is 18, and this is what he did to me last night. You know, I was so excited. I went into the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:42:44 He was in the TV room at 11 o'clock watching television. And all I wanted was for him to be like, come over, watch sports or any of the moments Donald just had. And he looked back at me and I looked at him. I'm like, hey. And he goes, good night. Oh, no. I'm like, no, man. I'm not going to bed. I just said, good night, no. I'm like, no, man. I'm not going to bed.
Starting point is 00:43:07 I just said, good night, man. Meaning this is my space. Peace out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good night. Good night, Dave. I can't do any of the things I'm doing out here if you're here. So, you know, good night.
Starting point is 00:43:20 How about life work? Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words. Hi, this is Shannon Doherty, host of the new podcast, Let's Be Clear with Shannon Doherty. You may know me from, let's see, 90210, Charmed, Mallrats, Heathers. Starting point is 00:44:46 praise and numerous award nominations. In our conversation, Michael really opens up. You're going to love listening to it, and I can't wait for you to check it out. The closest to getting what you want is always the hardest.

This year, we bring a whole new group of guests to answer the same seven questions, including actress and
Starting point is 00:45:40 star of the mega hit sitcom Friends, Courtney Cox. You can't go around it, so you just go through it. This is a roadblock. It's gonna catch you down the road. Go through it. Deal with it. Comedian, writer, and star of the series Catastrophe, Rob Delaney. I shouldn't feel guilty about my son's death. He died of a brain tumor. It's part of what happens when your kid dies. Intellectually, you'll understand that it's not your fault, but you'll still feel guilty. Alt-rock icon, Liz Phair. That personal disaster wrote Guyville. So everything comes out of a dead end.

Listen to Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, let's get into the show. Bill, I thought we'd start by explaining to people the idea of a bottle episode. My bottle episode. So this is, he's going to explain it to you, but we would call this episode that all takes place in the ICU a bottle episode.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Bill, explain a bottle episode. It's a bottle episode. When you're shooting a TV show, you have a budget to make every episode. Some of them can be, you know, I mean, shoot, a lot of shows nowadays and these streaming shows cost like $4 million to $6 million even for a half an hour and even more money for an hour. I believe the morning show on Apple costs $160 million an episode. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:48:01 But what you do occasionally after you said make 10 or 15 shows and a bunch of them were over budget and you're way behind on money. Maybe on the 16th show, you make a bottle show and you go, hey, the easiest way to save money is to eliminate all swing sets, which means sets that we would build or locations we would go to for that episode, which costs money with trucks and travel and shooting, and shoot the entire show in one set so that you could maybe finish it in four days instead of five. And just by doing that, you can usually make up all the money you wasted in the previous 15 episodes. And that's what we did with this one. And I don't think we did another. I can't remember, Bill, but this may have been the only true bottle episode we did, right? We did two things to save money.
Starting point is 00:48:46 We did a bottle show to save money, and this show is so old now, we actually did a clip show to save money. Oh, my God. Wow. If you remember that, you guys kind of narrated the interstitial stuff and then showed clips of everything that had happened. The weirdest thing was that clip show was in our seventh episode, so we only had six episodes to play. It wasn't. It was in our seventh episode. So we only had six episodes to play. It wasn't. It was like after like three years. Wow.
Starting point is 00:49:09 And yeah, so we did it. And so the cameras were just up in that ICU the whole time and we flew through it and just moved all you guys and gals around. And now don't they also, isn't there another term where they call it like trapped in a blank? They used to call it a stuck in a episode.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Stuck in a, I knew that. It'd be like you could put a bunch of people in an elevator for the whole episode and be really funny. And it's only one set. You can shoot it quick. It'd be great. So it's a producer's dream. It's like, hey, we're so over budget.
Starting point is 00:49:32 What if there was an episode where they're all stuck in an elevator? And in this case, the ICU. Now, my first question for you, well, is Krista. And I said this to Florence. We were watching it. Krista's character exits right away. i thought you know what happened bill bill said to krista we're gonna do a bottle episode and she was like oh just so you know my character leaves at the top to be out of that by the way the only good thing of her leaving at the top a by the by the way, I'd forgotten the episode. I'm like, why is she wearing that hat?
Starting point is 00:50:05 And then it was a very lost note. Yeah, but then B is that meant she wasn't there to see the cast of characters all raise their hand having slept with her before, which is probably in my best interests. Yeah, because she would have been like,
Starting point is 00:50:21 my character would not have slept with Nick. It would have stopped, yes. I just want to make a quick reference. That wasn't a Raiders of the Lost Ark reference. It was actually in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, he grabbed his bullwhip.
Starting point is 00:50:38 In Temple of Doom, he grabs his hat. Wow. I mean, props to you for knowing that, Brad Donald. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Huge brain, huge brain. Um, all right.
Starting point is 00:50:52 So let's get into it. Um, it starts with JD trying on all these outfits. I like how you, we brought back the raw outfit. I was about to say, cause when we talked about it, I said it wasn't going to be back again and it didn't make it back.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Yeah. I liked that. I think it was Tad Quill, one of the writers that somebody pitched that we would do that outfits joke just because you keep returning to ship captain. You're never, you always go back to your head. You're like,
Starting point is 00:51:17 can I pull off ship captain? You go back to it like three times. It makes me so happy. And he finally settles on an outfit that only works all together. If, God forbid, you were to peel off the layers, it would be a disaster. Yeah, I'm not sure that that stands up to the
Starting point is 00:51:33 test of time and scrutiny. It was literally just going like, hey, is there a way to get JD in a red half shirt? It was funny It was very funny And I love Turk's reaction to it when they walk into the ICU Outstanding Outstanding
Starting point is 00:51:52 So how did you feel in the shirt? I was very open to Being laughed at On the television show Scrubs So if it was good for the joke I'm down to do it A belly tee, I'm down. Whatever the raw, Eddie Murphy's raw pleather onesie, I'm down.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Dude, you were shirtless and pantsless so many times, man. I was on camera with literally just a sock. And outside with passers-by and holding golf clubs. Golf clubs.
Starting point is 00:52:25 Yes. So, yeah, no real reinforcement. Well, I think you said you put a rubber band on the upper ball side. Yeah, absolutely. To hold it on. That's not anything that anybody needs to know. Well, the fans want to learn trivia. The fans don't want to know what Donald did around his ball side.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Let's go to the – Let's go to a new poll. Let's do a new poll. Fans, where do you want to know how Donald restrained his private area? I'll do the poll for you. Yes, no, or I'm leaving the show. Yes, no, or I'm never listening again.
Starting point is 00:53:04 Joel, please put up a poll. Are you interested in things like, did Donald have a rubber band around his ballpark? Oh, come on. Oh, my way. No, Joel, don't do that. Okay, Joel, don't do it. The answer is yes.
Starting point is 00:53:21 I really, there's a lot of jokes in this show that really made me laugh. You know what? I don't know why it made me laugh so far that you said the most exciting thing about your date was putting the possum to sleep and that wasn't a euphemism what could that mean what do you guys think that really meant like what would that mean putting the possum to sleep that doesn't really sound like a sex thing, but it's close. It's sex adjacent. It sounds like it maybe could be. It could be going to the bathroom
Starting point is 00:53:50 too. That could be like a Tuesday. I laughed when I go, his little hoof is bleeding on the gear shift. The fact that after this many years, you still do Woody Allen. Donald, does he do the Woody Allen voice a lot of the time? Every time. All the time. It's his go-to.
Starting point is 00:54:07 It's his go-to. Well, there's something about the term, the word hoof, used improperly that always makes me laugh. Saying an animal that doesn't have a hoof. Instead of Paul being like his little hoof. And your doctor, too. His little hoof. We your doctor too. His little hoof. We say it way too much, but Sarah Chalk is so good in her journey on her story about her dad
Starting point is 00:54:33 and how she may or may not have been attracted to him when she was 11. Yeah, what is that about, Bill? I was like, did I mishear that? That was the funniest journey I've ever seen because she said it so confidently and then immediately segues into, I mean, that's normal, right? Right? Forget it. And then just the hope on her face that it would never be mentioned again.
Starting point is 00:54:57 It gave me so much joy. And then she's like, yeah, I have complicated feelings about my dad. And I was like, wait, what? No, just for a second. For a second when she was 11, Zach. When she was 11. Okay, now why does Lonnie have such a glorious mustache? I mean, it's gorgeous.
Starting point is 00:55:16 But did he just show up with that? And you were like, yes, that's it. He grew up with something else. He was an actor back then. He's since become a very successful comedy writer. Right. He's a writer now. Mike Hobart.
Starting point is 00:55:27 And back then he was doing some kind of web series that he had to have what he called a porn stash. And he asked if he could keep it. And I said, yeah, but JD is going to mock it or covet it for the rest of your life. I don't know how a hairless kid could grow that because that thing was 100% real. Is he hairless like that? He is hairless like that he is hairless like that yeah there's no waxing going on that's that's straight irish catholic no uh no hair whatsoever on your chest spot right there you're welcome mike somebody try to reach my
Starting point is 00:55:54 covert and tell him we're talking about his body if you can now i love that doug and ted are back to fighting over danny i like that runner that they get the two like least alpha male physical guys really get all charged up when it comes to fighting over Tara Reid. Well, I like I like the fact that she made out with both of them at the same time. And the reason why they. Approached her together was in hopes that that would happen again. Yeah, they might. But maybe we could kiss would happen again. Yeah, they might do it. Maybe we could kiss each other again. The last thing I'm going to do is to make this poignant, but it's been such a
Starting point is 00:56:31 tough time and stuff. When I do this with you guys, I generally, for real, just do it by memory. I watch this one and just seeing Sam and how funny he is still makes me so sad, man. You know what I mean? It just always takes me out of it for a second
Starting point is 00:56:48 because he was such just a gifted comedian, even in just the way he looks at that kid, Doug, who, by the way, is one of my favorite bit players of all time because that dude I don't think ever did anything else. I think he split from acting and moved. Oh, yeah. I wanted to ask you what happened to Johnny Castle. And, Joel, we want to get him on the show because a lot of fans are clamoring to have johnny
Starting point is 00:57:09 castle on who played doug and he you know donald and i watching back have said god he's so funny and then i don't think he worked like did he stop working yeah i think he i think he for real had some of his family that got ill it was either dad or mom or something like that but you should get him on and ask him because i went back and cared for him. You guys remember when Johnny Castle went State Farm and he came back one year jacked, just like Rip City? And, dude, you got to look at certain episodes. He has veins in his arm, biceps, pipe. It cracked us all up as writers.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Wait, what do you mean he went State Farm? What does that mean? Oh, the State Farm guy, according to my sons and daughter, is very, very jacked. That guy. Oh, the new State Farm guy, Jake from State Farm. Jake from State Farm is just rip city. I mean, he's apparently really,
Starting point is 00:57:56 really handsome and jacked up. Do you know that I don't really know who that guy is because I don't watch sports and those ads only play on sports? You don't know who Jake from state farm is. I do now. I saw the Drake one, the new one with Drake.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Yeah. I saw that. Daniel, Joel, Donald, um, every one of us get one shot. The most famous athlete you can name that you think Zach still has not heard
Starting point is 00:58:20 of is a tough one. If Zach's heard of it, if that Zach's heard of him or her, you're out. So it's naming and... I'm going to know famous names. I mean, I know pop culture. Are you?
Starting point is 00:58:34 I know Mike Jeminski. So Dan has... I got my shot. All right, good. I'll go. Bo Jackson. Yeah. He played multiple sports. That's good. There was a whole Nike campaign back in the day.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Bo Don't Know Jack. Was that what it was? Bo knows. You got it right. How about this? Bo knows this, and Bo knows that, but Bo don't know Jack about this and that. No, because Bo don't know that because Bo can't rap. How about the Dittos? Bo knows this, and Bo knows that, but Bo don't know that because Bo can't rap. How about the Ditto?
Starting point is 00:59:05 Bo knows this and Bo knows that, but Bo don't know Jack because Bo can't rap. So what do you know? The Ditto is first up to that. No batteries included and no strings attached. No hold ball. No time to move. No time to move. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:59:20 No respect. That's Phife Dawg, man. I don't have Phife Dawg forever on my sound pad, bro. Here you go right now. Rest in us, Fife Dog, man. I don't have Fife Dog forever on my sound pad, bro. Here you go right now. Rest in power, Fife Dog. Okay, rest in power. All right. Wait, I like this game. I like this game.
Starting point is 00:59:32 Somebody else tried. Bill, come on. Naomi Osaka. That's a tennis player, and she's killing it. I think she's like number one female tennis player right now. How about Richard Todd? That's not a real person. Richard Todd is a real person. That's not a real person. Richard Todd is a real person.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Dick Todd? That's not a real person. I never heard of Dick Todd. Richard Todd. How about this? Tom Chambers. No. Sounds like a banker. How about this? Lamar Jackson.
Starting point is 01:00:03 That's a basketball player. No. You guys are wrong. He just switched. While we've been on this show, he switched over. No. Do you guys remember when Michael Jordan decided he wanted to play baseball? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Well, that's what the guy you just mentioned did. That's not true. That's not a true story. He plays on the Jazz Cabbage. That's what the guy you just mentioned did. It's not true. It's not a true story. It's not true. It didn't happen. He plays on the Jazz Cabbage. By the way, you went very copy of He Didn't Know Everybody Famous and you missed on Lamar Jackson.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Those guys aren't famous. I know like – Right now in the poll, is Lamar Jackson the MVP of the NFL famous? Yeah, he should be the most famous. He's very famous. Very famous. I don't know sports. Yeah. I don't know sports. Yeah, I don't know sports.
Starting point is 01:00:47 Okay, but I think I passed half of your test. All right. No, you did all right. How about Danny Tara Reade smoking in the ICU? I'm pretty sure that's taboo. You know that you can't really show smoking on television anymore? Even streaming shows, period pieces and stuff, they make exceptions, but a lot of them want you
Starting point is 01:01:06 to show the person holding a cigarette but not inhaling. How do you feel about that, by the way? Because I'll be honest that my grandma smoked two packs a day, passed away from lung cancer. I'm going with the comedy the whole time here. And so I don't actually mind
Starting point is 01:01:22 that we don't show smoking on TV as much. Do you know what I mean? It's that everybody says don't glamorize it, but it does. It is always look, it's so cinematic and it looks so cool sometimes. Especially when shut on film and you get the light and it's just like, watch all those like forties noir movies smoking. It does look cool. So I understand the like mentality behind being like, Hey,
Starting point is 01:01:42 let's not like make this look glamorous to children. But it does look glamorous, damn it. I remember that being a rule that you couldn't show. Yeah, I remember being told that. I was directing something, and it was network. And I didn't know if it was streaming. That was the case for streaming. But it was a network thing, and it said, no, they can hold the cigarette, but you can't show them inhaling it.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Streaming still has, they get to make their own rules of whatever their company is and apple for instance um uh you know they they're a family brand and a huge thing so they still have their standards that you kind of have to stick to and the only place we got caught is in on ted lasso is in london flow would be there to tell us this Zach, you know what swear word they use in London that we just simply do not say here? Yes, and you put it on Ted Lasso, that word. I did. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:33 That was no bueno for Apple. And by the way, it's so interesting because it makes you think about language over there. Nobody even cares. It's very casually talked about. So Apple made you take that word that starts with C out of the show? Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:45 Okay. Wow. When I directed Going in Style, there's a scene where Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin all get high, and it was PG-13. So the rule was you can show them, put the joint to their lips, but then you have to cut away, right? And then you could also show them exhaling so i had to do this it was the most bizarre rules but i had to like morgan like takes the joint to his lips and then you cut to a reaction shot and then you can cut back to him with the exhale just weird i thought was so clever what was that topher grace show um
Starting point is 01:03:22 that 70s show that you were always one step behind the joint that was being passed around. I thought that was so incredibly clever. I can't believe they got away with that on network. Wait, do you guys notice anything weird with the signal? It feels like it's getting fuzzy or something. Do you guys notice? I feel like I hear that too. There's a noise now.
Starting point is 01:03:43 What is that? I can't hear what you're saying. Dude, you guys are fucking up the- Oh, too. There's a noise now. What is that? Dude, you guys are fucking up. Well, well, well. If it isn't two of my least favorite people. That's right. Say hello to Hooch, because I've been taking over your podcast. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:03:58 I'm all up in this bitch. That's right. Hooch Jr.'s Hacking for Beginners workshop finally paid off. I knew my girl had skills. That's right, I've been taking it over, and soon I'm gonna take one of your fingers. Y'all think you're gonna do the scrub story without talking about Hooch? There would be no scrubs without Hooch. So just remember, Hooch is crazy. I'm crazy as a motherfucker, and I'm gonna... God damn it, did you try and turn off my lights? Burn for a burn, baby. Burn for a burn.
Starting point is 01:04:28 I'm coming after your ass. That motherfucker's crazy. Who just legit fucking crazy? Yeah, who just crazy, dude? You guys. That was scary. Look how scared Dylan is. That was scary. You don't understand, by the way. Who just crazy? crazy you guys look how scary that was scary
Starting point is 01:04:46 who's crazy I was surprised by that because you guys just told us to act like there was static and stuff but B that gentleman is such a director producer of a TV show that I occasionally work that I work on and I'm like
Starting point is 01:05:03 literally just today I was having a conversation of like oh he's so good and adult and we can count on him to be responsible for everything and I believe he was just threatening all of our lives when I wrote Phil and said uh by the way thank you Phil for uh for pretending to hijack the show and I wrote him and the funny thing about Phil is he's the sweet like like Bill said, he's the sweetest family man you ever met. I was like, I don't even know if Phil's going to want to curse. I was like, it could be funny if you said,
Starting point is 01:05:31 called us motherfuckers at the end. If you don't want to curse, that's fine. Then I get the video. He's like, motherfuckers. Hooch is really crazy. Hooch is crazy. Hooch is crazy. He said to me the most, by the way. I ran away. When people find out I worked on the show, they say, Hooch is crazy. Hooch is fucking crazy. Legit crazy. Said to me the most, by the way. I randomly, when people find out I worked on the show,
Starting point is 01:05:47 they say, Hooch is crazy. I mean, Hooch is really crazy. Phil can't walk down the street without people yelling Hooch is crazy at him. That's the weirdest thing because he's worked so often. Who was talking to me? Oh, Tom Cavanaugh was telling me that at least once a week, walking around, someone will go, hey, little brother.
Starting point is 01:06:03 And Scott Foley tells us that he can't walk two feet or write anything on the internet without someone being like um nobody cares sean nobody yeah but scott foley never tells it in a happy way like the other no but i feel bad for scott like i'll because i follow him on instagram and sometimes i'll be on like just watching his normal account and I'll scroll through the comments and he's just like posted, like sure. Do you love my wife and a beautiful picture of his wife?
Starting point is 01:06:29 And then the comments are like, nobody cares. I've really used it by the way. It's him. Cause it's so cool. You live in Connecticut. He's like, I've really used woodworking and I'm proud of this thing that I did.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Nobody cares. Nobody cares. Let's go back to the show. I like, I love when i'm doing cpr for 10 for 10 cpr on the on the homeless guy and i'm like you're not getting this one lord you know my one of my favorite things that um is i that we got to do on scrubs and and you two are so good but there's so many peripheral characters and actors and actresses that just come out here and they grind and they maybe get little things here and there. And they're just funny and talented.
Starting point is 01:07:13 And one of the things that we got to do, and I was just thinking of that moment, Zach, because that dermatologist, I forget his name, but I remember when you said to him, I need 30 bucks and you have a trust fund. I just said, just make some noise, dude.
Starting point is 01:07:27 And he went, nah. And it made me laugh for like 10 minutes. So that guy was funny. It's my time to shine, baby. Hey, Donald, you're out of focus for some reason. I am. Fix your focus, baby girl. Can Donald make himself out of focus by being high, or is that just for you?
Starting point is 01:07:50 No, no, no. You got too big to now you're out of focus. Oh, it was fixed. It's fixed. There we go. There you go. It's that intelligent auto. It gets you back.
Starting point is 01:07:57 All right. Oh, do you want to take a question? Yeah, let's take another question, Joel. And in the meantime, yeah. So anyway, that thing about Lorde was so funny to me. And then I do it, and I go, JD1, Lorde, zero. Lorde, zero. In the meantime, yeah. So anyway, that thing about Lorde was so funny to me. And then I do it and I go, JD1, Lorde 0. Lorde 0.
Starting point is 01:08:09 I want to get into something because this kind of stuck with me for a minute. And at first I was like, did I dream that? And then I had to watch the show again to make sure. So did Carla and Cox bang? No, no, no, no. he said all he got was a kiss on
Starting point is 01:08:28 the forehead that's as far as it went though he said to you i really liked her and she wasn't down with it and i got the i spent 90 bucks and just got a kiss on the forehead because in the best man movie the kiss on the forehead means something completely different. It means like relations. No, no. It never happened with them. Okay, cool. By the way, I was watching. Then why hide that, though?
Starting point is 01:08:52 Why would they hide that? He gave the three reasons, Donald. Reason number one, because she wasn't into him. Why would he talk about it? And it was embarrassing. Reason number two, she said she maybe she knows you and knows that you're a jealous insane person you know which is kind of that's kind of true i don't remember reason number three but i did like that speech by the way donald in real life if your co-worker
Starting point is 01:09:14 had even kissed your wife on the forehead you would be like have trouble with that did zach ever come clean about hooking up with casey or no No, he never has. He never has. Hold on. Let me find the boo. No, that's the toilet. Excuse me. Here's the bomb. He's going to go. On the left, upset.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Yeah, he left on a huff. He's gone. All right. I like the speech, too, that Cox gave in that whole thing about, you know, you have to accept that the person you're with has a past, you know, and who cares? You had a past, you know, and it took me so long to learn that lesson because I used to get tortured by all Krista's boyfriends in my head. I know. You told everyone the hilarious story in the podcast about Matt Perry. Yes. That is the true story.
Starting point is 01:10:10 Oh, a special visitor, everybody. Oh, look at that. I like that. That makes me happy. Oh, my God. I'm here for Bill. Hey, Casey. How you doing? How are you? Hi, guys. You're talking about your dating life before. And that's on that cue, I'm leaving.
Starting point is 01:10:26 No, no, no. We don't have to talk about that. Casey, say hi to everyone who's visiting us. Hi, everybody. Hi. Casey, your kids are so beautiful, man. It was so cool seeing them both. Thanks, Bill. They're so big. It's nuts. You age through other people's children
Starting point is 01:10:42 and I think of them as babies still and Rocco's just like, nah, I shoot all the time. I this, I that. It's amazing. Yeah, he has short hair now and he's a dude all of a sudden. How do you feel about cutting his hair? You know what? I didn't want to, but the minute we did it, I was like, why did I
Starting point is 01:10:57 wait so long? Yeah, I know. It's so much easier, right? Yeah. We were holding on to it like it's like he's Samson. Yeah, I thought his personality and everything would be gone the minute the hair left. That kid's going to get it, by the way. He is cute and confident.
Starting point is 01:11:15 He has no problems putting that thing on and just talking to it. By the way, it says now for me, 1.3 million people watching this. Congratulations. 1.3 million people watching this. Congratulations. 1.3 Did you say million or billion? Million. You're going to make me feel shit when it's like 500 people, so don't keep making that joke.
Starting point is 01:11:35 Wait, before you move on, I just want to say to Bill, it's that time of the year where I'm so sad that we're not over at your house. I know. I know. That makes me bummed out. Bill does a big Easter party.
Starting point is 01:11:47 A really ridiculously beautiful Easter party. And I have to say, you're not allowed to come if you don't have kids. We were part of we were all family for so long. In 10 years, and I finally said, what do we got to do to get over to this fucking party?
Starting point is 01:12:04 I put a baby in it.? I put a baby in it. So I put a baby in it. I had to birth a child. So you guys only had a baby so you could be invited to Bill's party. That's right. Yeah, it's a big business. We got to make sacrifices here and there, man. It's the Easter party of the year.
Starting point is 01:12:18 It's solid. It is. We miss it. I miss it too. It makes me sad. Next year, guys, you know it. Next year. Don't tell Zach. I'm coming. I'm coming. I'm it too. It makes me sad. Next year, guys. You know it. Don't tell Zach.
Starting point is 01:12:26 I'm coming. I'm going to bring a fake child. What's that? Oh my God. What's going on with these? Yeah, they broke. They're like tape. He insisted that they work. Yeah, they broke. I know, but I think iHeart can get him
Starting point is 01:12:42 some new ones, Daniel. I said I would bring you. All right, let's take a question. Casey, we love you, but give Donald the earphones. Wait, I thought you were asking me about dating or something. Yeah, about our dating life. I'd rather not talk about that. It's always five.
Starting point is 01:12:56 Five is the magic. Got it. Understood. How many people have you been with before, you guys? Just so you know. Oh, okay. It's always five? It's got to be five. How many people have you been with before, you guys? Just so you know. It's always five? It's got to be five.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Are you implying that women that I've dated who said five were lying? No, not at all. Okay, good. Thank you. That's the up and up. Here's a question. Bill, did you play any characters other than Van and the janitor in the season eight finale? If not, what made you want to do it twice at the end?
Starting point is 01:13:30 It sounds a little judgmental. So I'll tell you two things. One is I did it and was just ad-libbing when I was marrying the janitor and lady. And Donald and Zach, and I don't know, one of my favorite pictures, is they were all in the pool, not even doing their coverage. They were just in the pool drinking pina coladas there. And mocking me because I could barely get through it. Maybe I was a little buzzed myself. I just try to make up things as a preacher. And I wanted to be in the end at the last second
Starting point is 01:14:01 because I got very sad and I wanted to say goodbye to the show when Zach kind of says goodbye to me. I thought that was so moving by the way. The fact that you decided to do that and play the janitor who's, who takes down the sheet. I thought that was really, you know, you and I saying goodbye.
Starting point is 01:14:18 I mean, it's obviously you saying goodbye to the show, but also you and I saying goodbye after this incredible time together. I really was moved by that. Can I tell you, I'll tell you my funniest thing on the goodbyes week and Donald will remember this. So there's a great,
Starting point is 01:14:32 lovely background actor on our show that we called Colonel doctor. And we called him Colonel doctor because he may have looked like the Kentucky fried chicken guy. Yeah. Colonel Sanders. Yeah, Colonel Sanders. By the way, and then when we had to name him, because we're ludicrous people, his name in the show Bible is Coleman Slosky.
Starting point is 01:14:56 So his name is Coleman Slosky. Slosky. But, Donald, there's a video out there on when that's a series wrap on Donald phase on, uh, when we're all like hugging and stuff. And it was, I think it was you,
Starting point is 01:15:11 me and Judy and Zach hugging goodbye. And he was overcome. So he wanders into that moment. Everybody kind of just froze. Cause we're all pretty sure. Colonel doctor who has never even spoken to any of us, is full body embracing us on our last goodbye. Do you remember that moment? It was so fun, man.
Starting point is 01:15:35 We went for the hug, dude. Dude, I appreciate that. I haven't seen. He has passed away. He has passed away. He's passed away. But that was – I think that literally was the last time I saw a lot of the people who played in the background. Donald plays golf with Mickhead, Bill. He plays golf with Mick.
Starting point is 01:15:53 Frank was a screenwriter and such a lovely man and a beard face, beard for say, damn it. Jeff. I believe his name is Jeff. Yes, Crazy Eyes Margo. I loved her. She was always roaming around, man. Crazy Eyes Margo. I loved her. She was always roaming around, man. Crazy Eyes Margo. The answer to that question is
Starting point is 01:16:09 I put myself, anytime I was bored in the show, a solid five other times that I would, when I was trying to procrastinate, I would just go put myself in different shots and scenes. If you can find them, I'll send you a Ted Lasso mug. See what you did? Hereso mug. Uh-oh. What? See what you did?
Starting point is 01:16:25 See what you did. Here you come. Promising gifts. All right. Preston asks, if there were to be a Star Wars musical, who would Donald cast and who would Zack choose to direct? Well, we know Donald would cast himself as – Luke Skywalker.
Starting point is 01:16:46 Why would you not be Han Solo? Seriously, dude. Well, because Han Solo's probably going to have one good musical number. Oh, Donald's already thinking about how many numbers he's going to have. Luke Skywalker's going to have a lot of really cool musical numbers. There's going to be the one with Yoda. There's going to be the one... Han Solo has one or two.
Starting point is 01:17:02 One where he's introduced and then where he gets frozen in carbonite. And then maybe when he returns. I think the ballad with Leia comes... I think the ballad with Leia comes at the frozen with carbonite moment. And I think it's a reprise also. Like they started...
Starting point is 01:17:20 No, Don, you already thought this out. They started in the closet when they're kissing, which she's like, I like, I like, you know, I like nice man. I'm a nice man.
Starting point is 01:17:29 No, you're not. You're in. And they kiss. I think that's a musical moment. And then the reprise where it's a big, where it's a big act break is him going into carbonite. I think it's a big way.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Ms. Song too, when he's leading, you know, you know, when, when they're all kind of, uh,
Starting point is 01:17:43 uh, him and chewy and when they're all, all the, before the trash compactor know when when they're all kind of uh uh uh him and chewie and when they're all all before the trash compactor thing when they're all roaming around there when they're roaming around that could be they could be dancing through the hallways of the death star i could see that happening what are you gonna do when you don't give zach apart and he freaks out i mean who would zach play 3po oh that's about right That's a real rift Are we talking about just Star Wars or the universe
Starting point is 01:18:09 Because if it's the universe I'd like to be Jabba I'll give you that That would be a great cameo They'll all be original songs But except for one that came with the show Yub Nub Yub Nub I celebrate the life Yub Nub. Yub nub. I celebrate the life.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Yub nub. Yub nub. What's that movie you do? You're watching Star Wars. Yub nub. By next time, will you have lyrics to the main Star Wars theme for me? Yes, we'll work on that for the second live show. Zach, in honor of Passover starting tomorrow night,
Starting point is 01:18:45 happy Passover to all that celebrate. Can you do your rap? Now, Bill, you may have missed this on the podcast, but I wrote a rap when I was like eight years old in honor of Passover. I have heard the story, and I believe I heard that on the podcast. I'm going to try and remember it.
Starting point is 01:18:59 On the spot is tricky. For those of you who missed that episode of the podcast, my father insisted on taking us on a long road trip to go to a Passover Seder somewhere. I believe it was. And I, by the way, I wrote this when I was like eight,
Starting point is 01:19:13 one day for people took a trip to Boston, Elaine, Hal and Zach and an Audi 5,000. The reason for this trip was Passover time. If we snook some bread and it will be a crime. Why do we, why do we go so far? I wish Daniel could have laid down a beat for this, it would be a crime. Why do we go so far? I wish Daniel could have laid down a beat for this, but it's too late.
Starting point is 01:19:29 Why do we go so far and we could pray at home? The reason was unknown. Just remember your comb. I'm not as good a rapper as Donald. Calm down. Just remember on this five-hour trip, McDonald's and Burger King, we would skip. The reason for this deed was
Starting point is 01:19:47 Passover time. If we snook some bread in, it would be a crime. Oh, you went back to that. Call back, call back, call back. Thank you. Thunderous applause. Let's finish. We're going to next get into our dating segment soon. Let's talk
Starting point is 01:20:03 a little more about the episode. What else you guys got? Turk, when you headbutt Lonnie, that was very funny. It was very upsetting. I'm sorry. That was freaking amazing. Are you kidding me? You took Lonnie out, dude.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Dude, but he had it coming, man. Don't freaking interrupt me when I'm talking to my lady about, you know, if she had relations with Dr. Cox. Don't freaking all of a sudden compliment her. You're catching that headbutt. That's right. You know, Adama, I know you know this from marriage, but a real moment from my marriage. And one of the things we did on this show, everybody put their real stuff in there.
Starting point is 01:20:37 And it was one of my favorite moments of the show is you and Judy when you go, I'm not really qualified to change those dressings. And she goes, oh, please, it's just nurse work. It's easy. And you go, I know. And she goes, I knew you thought that way. I knew it. And by the way, she walks away and you go, you tricked me. Bill, are you saying that's from your life?
Starting point is 01:20:57 That is from my life. I have been tricked that way before. Yeah, my wife's done that before when she was like oh let's just do let's just let's just talk about it and i'll be think hypothetically and i'll be like okay and i'll say something like i always knew you thought that i always knew i always knew i was like we were acting we were playing you said we were doing an exercise i wasn't exercise at all a lot of the chat apparently is asking For me to do my big bank dance I was not prepared
Starting point is 01:21:28 I would have padded my bank Well you said you had a big bank I don't really have a big bank And I'm concerned I know I did I have been doing squats You have a small waist Or cheaper by the dozen
Starting point is 01:21:42 By the time we're ready to shoot I will have bank But it's a bank in progress. Let's see it. Let's see it. Come on. Yeah. Now, remember. Oh, jeez.
Starting point is 01:21:54 I got to touch my camera. Oh, my God. I'm kind of nervous. But Donald, where are you going? Come back. I'm going to humiliate myself for the fans. nervous but if you donald where are you going come back i'm gonna humiliate myself for the fans now there's three parts there's four parts there's there's showing your small waist your pretty face and your big bank and then if you're one of these women who do this you then have to
Starting point is 01:22:20 laugh like oh i'm just playing along i shouldn't be doing something so crazy okay so those are the four beats i'll be performing here we go beautiful stop moaning thank you everybody thank you you ready oh bill stop moaning small waist pretty face with a big bank Small waist pretty face with a big bank Did I sell it? It's amazing It's beautiful My favorite part of People doing super sexual dances
Starting point is 01:22:57 Online is then ending with like I'm so silly I don't know why I'm doing this Excuse me Oh my god you sneezed all over all our guests. Where are you going? He's probably going to get Casey again. It's been 30 minutes. It's been 20 minutes since he was in the room with her.
Starting point is 01:23:16 Bill, there's a line in here I really liked about dating. Oh, you mean how you... Acting like someone you're not. And then once you're in a relationship, then you show them who you really are yeah i thought that was um you dropped you dropped a little knowledge bomb on everyone because that was sort of true it's like you know donald we were just i just brought up that line that's like a dating is just acting like someone you're not until i forgot the exact wording until someone uh until they like you enough and uh i don't know i thought that was kind of cool like we do when you're dating you do in the beginning just pretend to be
Starting point is 01:23:48 some idealized version of yourself i really liked that speech that you gave you know i think it's real man and it made me look this was a goofy episode it was just a joke-a-thon yeah any medical stakes and there was face cake and Neil Flynn panicking as he shoots cotton balls into a jar which killed me. You guys faked a heart attack with a homeless person. We called him a hobo to get by.
Starting point is 01:24:15 In retrospect, I think he said he was putting satellite TV in his box when he was right or d d d dsl you know what i loved in this episode by the way is the voiceover um of because i loved when you were incredibly narcissistic and your voiceover said i could feel the pain in my best friend's face and I could sense how little I cared.
Starting point is 01:24:52 I'm looking at Scrubs Wiki, our old friends, and they're saying the janitor could not have owed Dr. Kelso $700 through double or nothing from $5. They don't know if he said, right, this one's for 50 bucks. And then I'm just telling you, I know you get sensitive about Scrubs Wiki. It wasn't double or nothing each time in the middle just so you know in the middle it was at 300 dollars and he said i just want to bet 50 and he lost him to 350 and then he said double or nothing we cut that okay are you sure whatever you want to say but i want to say it goes on to say eleanor is that eleanor with her shit again? Oh, no. This is Trevor Wiki.
Starting point is 01:25:30 Listen, it says if the bet kept going up by $5, then the janitor must have had 140 shots. There were a lot of cotton balls on that desk. There were a lot of cotton balls. Do you know what I never, ever, ever did when we were doing scrubs is math. So why doesn't everybody just calm down there's no math there's no math on scrubs um funny okay i can't i'm trying to see if there's any other funny uh you know we really obsessed about tower reads last episode it says that sorry about making um without cheating too much but you should go back and listen to it
Starting point is 01:26:04 making Ken's stomach growl sound like it's saying the word cake. If you listen to it, it literally does go cake. And I remember when we first did it, and I almost put it on TV, it basically just said cake. Cake.
Starting point is 01:26:20 Which would have been too much, I think. All right. All right, guys. I think it's time. What do you feel, Donald? Do you think it's maybe time to segue to our- I do. I'm sorry. For some reason, I got the sniffles all of a sudden.
Starting point is 01:26:33 I was sneezing. I apologize to all the fans. But yes, I do think it's time to segue into- Are you allergic to fun and laughter, Donald? I'm never allergic to fun and laughter. But this next segment, I am very, very excited for. Okay, everybody. This is where, this is very exciting. Joel,
Starting point is 01:26:49 We should go back to the poll first and see what the poll said. Okay, let's check the poll. We forgot about the poll. No, we're not ready for that poll. Not that poll yet. Oh, boy. Oh, yes. We asked you to switch over because I thought we were going to go to that new one. Give us some verbal updates on the poll.
Starting point is 01:27:07 We have 53.22% at yes, 26.59% at sometimes, and 20.20% at no. Okay. A whole lot of people are watching as we go along, which is great. And it's funny because we never know, and there's no way to find out. So this was just sort of a little anecdotal poll, I guess but um but we like that i love the idea that you guys are following along i think that makes it even more fun because i never noticed you know i know some people know the show so well that they don't even need to re-watch it but i like the idea you know because the whole donald and my first idea for this was it was like feels like a dvd commentary
Starting point is 01:27:42 but but um it's actually better that we're not when you do a DVD commentary you're kind of always trying to keep up you're like oh wait next scene we gotta know whereas this is like we watched before we can we can digress as we like to do as you know oh so wait Joelle we're not ready for that then right because we're just waiting for one more person so okay almost there we're not quite ready for this, but maybe we can play the song because it's exciting. That shit is a bop. Okay.
Starting point is 01:28:11 Now what's the name of the fella, Joelle? I want to give him a shout out. Let me, let me get it right. Cause I don't want to mess him up. You know, he put a lot,
Starting point is 01:28:18 a lot of work into this. So his name is Travis Freshener. It's Travi, Wavy, two V's in both on Instagram if you want to give him a follow he's worked with Jimmy Fallon before he did the history of Disney songs if you guys had an opportunity to hear that with Kristen Bell a while ago but also the Jimmy Fallon Billy Idol and Roots remix of Dancing With Myself so this guy he's a pro he's a pro and he wrote a song for us
Starting point is 01:28:42 yeah we love when our fan by the way when you guys tag me and donald and joelle and dale in fan art it's so funny the one that today that we put up of of nurse roberts above ground pool party was hilarious it made me so happy if you haven't seen that i would like that framed by the way i know i wanted frame too if you haven't seen it it's on uh it's on my instagram and um i love that there's some funny details but don, did you notice that you're wearing it? I did not see it. I have not seen it. You said this. I'm like, the what? The huh? I'm looking now. It's the last post on my
Starting point is 01:29:12 Instagram. Zoom in on the t-shirt of what your t-shirt says. It's a great t-shirt. Yeah, I want that t-shirt. Johnny Castle has brought a body bag to the above ground pool party. I can't read what it says. By the bag to the above ground pool party. I can't read what it says.
Starting point is 01:29:26 By the way, that's the above ground pool party. Oh, I dock Leo. Yeah. Your mother fucker's t-shirt. By the way, I would rock an I dock Leo t-shirt. It's pretty great. Yeah, Bill, what was going on at Nurse Roberts above ground pool party?
Starting point is 01:29:46 And did you ever think of cutting? Because one of the only mistakes I think you made in nine years was you never cut to the magic of one of Laverne's above ground pool parties. I should have, but there's no way we could do them. There's two things that you couldn't see, which is no way Laverne's above ground pool party could live up to the legend of them. There's no way Laverne's above ground pool party could live up to the legend of them, A. And then B, there is one that everybody has asked me that Elliot tells a boyfriend to whisper to her what he really wants sexually. And he does. And then she just leaves and never talks to him again. I don't know if you remember that. And so many people have gone, what did he say? And it's much like Laverne.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Like at the end of Lost in Translation. Like at the end of Lost in Translation. We've never figured it out. We think it's better if you figure it out. So you imagine whatever Laverne's. By the way, though, if I ever opened a nightclub, it would be called Laverne's Above Ground Pool Party. That's a good club name.
Starting point is 01:30:39 I think you're right, Bill. It's better to leave. Sometimes it's better to leave it in the audience's imagination because anything you show them will not be bespoke enough for each viewer. Like the viewer needs to go, that shit was whatever the most crazy Bacchanal orgy drug fest they have in their mind. It's that times 10. Yes, exactly. Well, in the drawing, Johnny Castle has brought a corpse to the party.
Starting point is 01:31:04 Yeah, and he's sitting next to it. Looks great. Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words. Hi, this is Shannon Doherty, host of the new podcast, Let's Be Clear with Shannon Doherty. You may know me from, let's see, 90210, Charmed, Mallrats, Heathers. You probably also know me from my stage four cancer diagnosis and sharing that journey with so many of you. There's something so authentic about a
Starting point is 01:31:34 podcast. It's me connecting, me talking raw in the moment. That's what my goal is to give you, to talk about why I feel that cancer to a certain extent is a gift, what my goal is to give you, to talk about why I feel that cancer, to a certain extent, is a gift. What my responsibilities are as a person with cancer. Because I think that there's something so much bigger than me. And to be honest, I'm still trying to find out what that is. And maybe together, we'll find it. It's going to be a wild ride. So I hope that you all tune in. Listen to Let's Be Clear
Starting point is 01:32:07 with Shannon Doherty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Hey, my name's Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of On Purpose. I just had a great conversation with Michael B. Jordan, and you can listen to it right now. Michael is known for his performances in both film and television. His breakout role was in Fruitvale Station, playing Oscar Grant, which earned him widespread praise and numerous award nominations. His portrayal of Killmonger in Marvel's Black Panther, one of my favorites,
Starting point is 01:32:38 further solidified his status as one of Hollywood's leading actors, earning him widespread acclaim for his complex and compelling performance. In our conversation, Michael really opens up. You're going to love listening to it, and I can't wait for you to check it out. The closest to getting what you want is always the hardest. It's always the feeling when you're getting ready. People give up right before they get what they've always wanted to get. People quit. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Starting point is 01:33:25 star of the mega hit sitcom Friends, Courtney Cox. You can't go around it, so you just go through it. This is a roadblock. It's going to catch you down the road. That personal disaster wrote Guyville. So everything comes out of a dead end.
Starting point is 01:34:01 And many, many more. Join me on season three of Many Questions on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite podcasts. Starting point is 01:35:12 but we're going to keep this going. Unless Joelle falls in love tonight with these two prospects, we're going to keep this dating, which could happen, you know, shit happens. We're going to keep this date Joelle segment going, but here is the original theme song for the date Joelle segment. Get the word out all over the town.
Starting point is 01:35:32 Joelle Monique is down to get down. No matter what's between your legs, tomorrow morning you could be making an X. Joelle Monique is down to get down. Oh yeah. Joelle Monique is down to get down. Wow. Joelle Monique is down to get down. What lyric?
Starting point is 01:35:57 The lyric is, no matter what's between your legs. You could wake up. Tomorrow morning, she could be making you eggs. Or you could be making her eggs. You could be making her eggs, Zach. Why do you always put Joelle in that spot? People would be making her eggs, dude. Yes. Come on.
Starting point is 01:36:09 No matter what's between your legs, tomorrow you could be making Joelle eggs. That's genius. Joelle Monique is down to get down. Don, you're out of focus again. Daniel, do you notice that? He keeps sliding. His face slides out of focus. It's the camera, man.
Starting point is 01:36:25 It's the Sony camera that y'all made me buy. No, I think the focus is on the wrong setting. But the next show, we're going to make sure it locks onto your beautiful face. He's saying that Joel's down to get down again. Daniel, I like it so much when you do it. Joel Monique is down to get down. Oh, yeah. She's coming.
Starting point is 01:36:42 No, wait. How did it go? What? Let's play it again. Play it again. One more time. One more time. She's coming. No, wait. How did it go? What? Let's play it again. Play it again. One more time. One more time.
Starting point is 01:36:47 Let's go. Get the word out all over the town. Joelle Monique is down to get down. No matter what's between your legs, tomorrow morning you could be making an X. Joelle Monique is down to get down. Oh, God. That is a hooky fucking song. So thank you for that, sir. Super well. Word out all around in your town.
Starting point is 01:37:18 All right. So we have, we're going to, the way we're going to do this guys, we're going to bring in, there's two contestants for a date Joelle and we're going to bring this, guys, we're going to bring in – there's two contestants for Date Joelle, and we're going to bring – like they do on the dating game. First, we'll bring in Sam. Is that a cool Joelle? And then the three – all of us will ask Sam a few questions. What she would get would be like a Zoom date,
Starting point is 01:37:39 like a 15-minute or so Zoom date. And, Joelle, you're muted, I think. And then. Sorry. So here we go. The first edition of the Dating Game with Joelle Meek. Let's invite in Sam. Hi! Thunderous applause
Starting point is 01:37:58 for Sam. Wow, Sam. Well, look at that Funko Pop collection. That is quite a collection. Oh, it's outstanding. I thought you'd like it. It's not even all of them. There's more that's off camera.
Starting point is 01:38:10 I collect Funko Pops, and I don't have nearly as many as you. That's amazing. I have over 100 now. Oh, my goodness. No, of course, because I'm- How did you stack them like that? Risers? Yeah, you can get clear risers for them.
Starting point is 01:38:26 This is a professional. It's very reminiscent of the janitor's squirrel army. It does look like you have a squirrel army there. Oh, no. I like it. I like it. Oh, my gosh. I'm just noticing your shirt.
Starting point is 01:38:41 Oh, so cute. Yay. I was hoping you would. I love seeing the universe. Yay. Of course. I love that. I Yay! I was hoping you would. Yay! I think we love the connection. Okay, I already feel the connection.
Starting point is 01:38:52 I vote yes. Do I vote now, Zach? No, you don't vote yes. Hold your horses. Let's give Brittany her fair due. Can I vote yes for Sam now? No, no. Bill, calm down. Now, Sam, the way this is going to work is um we're going to talk to you for a bit of it then we're going to talk to the other contest for a bit
Starting point is 01:39:09 and then the audience is going to vote and then but we may override them if we disagree with the audience but we want to see it's like the dating we want to see what the audience is feeling okay so you guys out there you are going to want to go to this straw poll now you put a link in right you well because they can't they're not going to remember that. Yeah. Kyle, did you put somewhere they can click? Yeah. Also, it's in the chat. So there's two places. So you can either type up what's the scrolling
Starting point is 01:39:34 on the bottom of your screen or look in the chat and you'll find it there. Okay, you guys. Look in the chat, but obviously don't vote yet because no one said anything. Don't be that guy. I've already voted for Sam. No, Bill. Just because Sam is cool and has Funko Pops does not mean she wins you.
Starting point is 01:39:49 It's cool. She's got Funko Pops. There we go. I love it. I love how Sam's already cool. You honor me, Bill. You honor me. Oh my God. I've got to find you honor me. I don't have time to label. You honor me. Okay. Very nice. Now listen, I don't want anyone voting yet.
Starting point is 01:40:06 Do I have your promise? Vote for Sam. Oh, my God. Bill, shut up. Everybody go and vote for Sam. Oh, my God. Bill, there's another person who's another person. They're in a soundproof booth. Okay. They're probably supposed to be in a soundproof booth. I don't know if we had that
Starting point is 01:40:22 figured out. O'Donnell, did you switch to some adult beverage? My wife came in and she was like, you should have smoked before the show. I was like, why? No, she did. Yeah, she did. She was like, you should have smoked. I was like, why? She was like, because you seem like
Starting point is 01:40:37 you're a little down. I was like, I'm not down. I'm freaking up. Casey, why does she have live notes? That's a no-no. We don't give notes during the performance. My wife gives notes during the performance. Can you imagine you're doing a play, Donald? Can you imagine you're doing a play?
Starting point is 01:40:54 Zach, are you kidding me? If I was doing a play and my wife was in the audience and I didn't get a laugh, the next time I told the joke, my wife would laugh extra hard to make sure I got a laugh. I'm going to tell you a little story real quick. Now that we put
Starting point is 01:41:10 my wife on the spot, I was doing a play at the Old Globe, Picasso at the La Panagia. It's a one act written by Steve Martin. Me, Justin Long, bunch of other people. Anyway, I don't want to go down the whole list.
Starting point is 01:41:26 Anyway, we're doing the play. And when Justin came on stage, every night the audience applauded. Like would clap out loud. Woo! Yeah, we call it entrance applause. Right. I entered the show first. Never got entrance applause ever. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:41:46 I would have clapped for you, baby. Well, you never saw the play, asshole. So, you know, there's that. Okay. There's that. Release the fight. Release the fight. So, but I'm also going to play with Hal Linden also. So, Hal Linden comes out after me. I come on stage, no applause. Hal Linden comes out after me. I come on stage, no applause. Hal Linden comes on stage, there's applause. Justin comes on stage, the freaking audience erupts.
Starting point is 01:42:11 Oh, I wouldn't like that. I wouldn't be liking that. So my wife would come to San Diego and watch the show over and over again. It's at the Old Globe. When theater's back, y'all, check out the Old Globe Theater. A lot of Shakespeare is done done there it's amazing anyway my wife sees the show and she's like oh hell no this can't be there's no way it's got that fuck that shit so one night she gets her best friend jessica her husband a bunch of other people from, you know, LA, to come out to San Diego to see the play. And I walked out on stage. And when I tell you I got thunderous applause,
Starting point is 01:42:55 it was like, what? It was like married with children loud. And when that happened, and it was louder and it was louder than Justin's and how Linda that night too. And I remember thinking to myself, you know what, if I ever, ever F this up, I'm the dumbest person on the planet. My wife freaking loves me so much. It's ridiculous. And you know, so whenever I'm treated unfair or anything like that, she has my back. I'm just going to say this. Sam, are you that type of person?
Starting point is 01:43:32 Oh, nice. Okay. I would come through and applaud for my partner. Would you come through for... Are you a fight or flight type of person?
Starting point is 01:43:49 Ooh. That's a hard question. Well, this is Joelle Monique. This is the queen of... I know. Coming in hot with the tough questions. I think that if it's about me,
Starting point is 01:44:04 I'm more likely to fly. But if it's about somebody I care about, I'm more likely to fly. But if it's about somebody I care about, I'm more likely to fight. Good answer. Good answer. We're going on family food. Let me hear you. Good answer. Good answer.
Starting point is 01:44:16 Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer.
Starting point is 01:44:17 Outstandingly good answer. 8.30 in the morning, we're going to play family food. So you guys got to practice that same good answer. Now, Sam, here's a question for you. Theaters are back open in the summer, and you have the opportunity to take Joelle on a date. Do you take her to see Black Widow, or do you take her to see In the Heights? I'm more excited about In the Heights Heights because I never got to see the musical and I really want to see the movie.
Starting point is 01:44:48 Okay. I'm more pumped about that. Okay. Joelle, any thoughts on that response? I mean, I know you're kind of geeked to see both. I just want to know where you are with the response so far. I'm at like a 50-50 split on which one I would want to see more. But I also did not get to see the musical when it was on stage and I would
Starting point is 01:45:09 really like to go with like a group of friends. I could, I could definitely see going to in the Heights and like having memorized the soundtrack. And here's my question. Would you sing along? Are you the kind of person who sings? I like that.
Starting point is 01:45:21 I like that. Absolutely. Absolutely. I would probably try to keep it relatively quiet if I'm in a movie theater with other people, but if everybody's singing along, I'm going to be all in.
Starting point is 01:45:33 I'm definitely the person that rewatches musicals at home and sings along with them alone. Oh my goodness. Fun fact, I saw Harris the Great 12 times in theaters. It was crazy. I'm just going to be honest with you, I saw Harris-Cree. 12 times in theaters. It was crazy. I'm just going to be honest with you. I don't like that answer
Starting point is 01:45:49 at all. Wait, hold on. Wait, there's too much going on. Bill, what are you saying? Am I allowed to date Sam or just do I? I know you love musicals, but you're married for like 100 years, so no. I don't think I can take Krista in a fight. No. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:46:03 I don't think so. I think she would absolutely destroy me take Krista in a fight. No. You're not ready for that. I don't think so. I think she would absolutely destroy me. Krista is legitimate. You know how we jokingly go, like, Hooch is seriously crazy? Like, Krista is seriously scary. She's scary. She scares me a little bit. Yeah, she does.
Starting point is 01:46:18 Now, Jono, what were you saying? I don't like that answer. Why not? Why not? Because Black Widow, I can't wait for that in the Heights or whatever. I'm personally a bit biased, but Black Widow looks fuego, right? I got a Sam question.
Starting point is 01:46:32 What about a double feature? Yes. Bill, go with your question, sir. I'm getting to know Joelle a little bit. You guys got to do a vacation. Do you go camping and roughing it for a week? Or do you save up your dough and go high on the hog to some resort where they bring you drinks just for like two nights?
Starting point is 01:46:52 Oh, very good question. That's a good question. We just want the truth. Yeah, we can handle the truth. I like both options for sure. Yeah, we can handle the truth. I like both options for sure, but I feel like roughing it's something I have to be more in the mood for,
Starting point is 01:47:14 whereas I'm always down to be like having a fancy cocktail by the pool and be a camper. Yeah, yeah. I picture you guys in Palm Springs. It's like 105 degrees out and drinking Bahama Mamas. Yeah, and Dan will just bring the drinks right to them, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I like that.
Starting point is 01:47:32 Which episode of Scrubs, I'm assuming you're a Scrubs fan. No, I've never seen it. Yes, I'm a fan. Damn! I've seen it a few times. Is there an episode of Scrubs that you can think of
Starting point is 01:47:49 that most describes Joelle? Or a character. Okay, make it easier. Or a character that you think is most Joelle-esque? Ooh. That's a hard question. Maybe that's too hard. Guys, that's too hard? That's a hard question. Maybe that's too hard. First instinct,
Starting point is 01:48:08 I'd say she's like a fusion of Carla and Nurse Roberts. That's good. Because she's got a lot of heart like Carla, but if she needs to be sassy and put you in
Starting point is 01:48:23 your place, she can like Nurse Roberts. I like that. I like that answer. I'll accept this. Yes. Okay. You like that? Yeah, I do. Well, how are these answers going for you so far? Listen, they're hitting. Absolutely. There's always a good time to be pampered. I'm not setting up a tent. It's just a little never. I'm not doing it. But I do. I love a log cabin, like a cozy cabin under the stars with, like, a hot tub or whatever. That's the dream. So it sounds like she answered right then, Joelle. No, she totally.
Starting point is 01:48:53 You don't fuck with rough and rough. Wait, we got another contestant, y'all. All right, all right. One last question. Sam, as you know, the prize is a 15-minute Zoom with Joelle. Can you describe how that Zoom would go? Would you guys – what would you talk about? Sam, as you know, the prize is a 15-minute Zoom with Joelle. Can you describe how that Zoom would go? What would you talk about? What would happen on a 15-minute Zoom?
Starting point is 01:49:13 Would Star Wars come up, for example? Well, let's see. So I didn't know it was going to be an only 15-minute date, so I had big plans. Okay. Do your thing. Do your thing. Let's do that. I am running it. Let's do it. I'll tell you my plan. I wrote it down so i wouldn't i wouldn't miss anything run with it um so um right
Starting point is 01:49:32 back what we start with is i'd ask you about your day how you're doing learn more about you wow and of course this would be accompanied by each of us smoking weed okay getting comfortable getting to know each other, getting loose. And then, yes, exactly. And then after that, I'm thinking we could share some music with each other.
Starting point is 01:49:55 Share some of our favorite songs. If the vibe is good, we can get up and start dancing with each other. And then after that, this is obviously way too much for 15 minutes, but after that, we can play video games together online. My suggestion is Mario Kart. I love Mario Kart. He loves Mario Kart, you guys.
Starting point is 01:50:15 Which Mario Kart? Well, I think it makes more sense to play the latest. I shouldn't answer the question. That's my question. I don't know about the ultimate one. I mean, it's got all of the races, all of the levels you could possibly need. It's very graphic.
Starting point is 01:50:30 Because it's got all the generations. Okay. We got to move on. Sam, you're incredible. Sam, I kind of... I'm voting for Sam again. No, Bill. Nobody vote yet, okay?
Starting point is 01:50:40 Do not vote yet. Everybody vote for Sam. Bill. Bill, don't have another contestant. We have to be fair. I haven't met the other contestant. Okay. You vote for Sam. Phil, now we have another contestant. We have to be fair. I haven't met the other contestant. It's unfair. By the way, the fact that Sam said that
Starting point is 01:50:53 makes me... I'm going to go vote for her again. Oh my God. Phil. I mean, worst case, even if they don't vote for me, I can go on a date with Phil. I know I've got him to fall back on. Okay. Listen, Sam, you're incredible, and I can see you winning this, but we have to be fair to the other contestant, Brittany.
Starting point is 01:51:12 So, Sam, you're going to go to the green room. Hang out. Now, Kyle, don't let in Brittany yet. We want to assess how we all feel about Sam. It would love me to meet you. Yeah. All right. Now, Joelle, I really like her.
Starting point is 01:51:23 I think she's perfect for you. Sam's cool. She's a cosplayer, which I was the first thing drawn to like her letter that she wrote in. She's got a good vibe and a good energy. She clearly knows. I was going to say she's got a good vibe. That's so true. It is very true.
Starting point is 01:51:38 And what is her dream? She's a cosplayer, though, really, though? She wants to see In the Heights and not a Marvel movie. Calm down. We know you love it. What cosplayer wants to do then? She tries as a classic Poison Ivy, and it was incredible. So she likes DC over Marvel, is that what you're saying?
Starting point is 01:51:52 Is that what you're saying? Calm down. I think she also did Marvel characters, if I remember correctly, I think she also did Gamora. But you know, she likes a range of things. I too am excited for In the Heights, which is why I put both movies on there. Yeah, she's a very good kid.
Starting point is 01:52:04 She's a very good kid. Joel, are you really 50-50 on that? By the way, I've had it up to here with Donald criticizing Sam. I'm not... An actual fight right now. The interesting thing about Joel is not only does she love the fangirl stuff
Starting point is 01:52:21 and the Marvel and the Star Wars and all of that but she loves musicals. Listen, I just have high hopes for Joelle. I have high hopes for the people that we introduce her. And when they say things like I'd rather see In the Heights and not a freaking action movie with explosions and freaking
Starting point is 01:52:38 Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh, I got a problem with it. You know what I mean? I just got a big problem with it. All right. Let's bring in Brittany now, guys. Here comes Brittany. Brittany, have you heard everything we were talking about? Yes, Brittany.
Starting point is 01:52:52 Look at the look. Hello. Hi. Brittany, you look amazing. Welcome to the show. Hi, Brittany. Hi, thank you. Everybody go vote for Brittany. Phil. I mean, okay, I gotta try Welcome to the show. Hi, Brittany. Hi, thank you. Everybody go vote for Brittany. Okay, Bill. I mean, okay, I got to try and gain Bill here.
Starting point is 01:53:10 So thank you so much for having me on Bill Lawrence's podcast. Yeah! Whoa! Whoa! Over. Oh, my God. Over. You know what, Brittany?
Starting point is 01:53:20 Brittany, playing to the judges will get you everywhere. Everywhere. I've heard. Yeah, you can tell Bill how much you love Ted Lasso, and it'll just be done for. Okay. Tell us, Brittany, if you were to choose to take Joelle to a movie this summer, when we're allowed to again, would it be Black Widow or In the Heights? It's up to you.
Starting point is 01:53:47 It would definitely be In the Heights. I have worked in theater since I was 14. I was so excited for it to come out last year, so of course it got pushed. Now I'm just like, I have to see this movie. This will be the closest thing I probably get to a stage show for a while. I have to see it. Did you see the original show, Brittany?
Starting point is 01:54:12 No, I didn't. I have a best friend who saw it and met Lin-Manuel Miranda backstage, and she has a picture. I have to... I can't one-up that, but I can at least go and see and cheer for Anthony Ramos as loud as I can't one-up that, but I can at least go and see and cheer for Anthony Ramos
Starting point is 01:54:27 as loud as I can. The trailer really does look amazing, I have to say. I'll be there. I'm going to be honest with you guys right now. This is not okay with me at all. Are you saying this because
Starting point is 01:54:43 you're such a diehard Marvel fan? No, I'm saying you can watch In the Heights and The House. How about that? Wait, are you saying because it doesn't have the scope and scale of Black Widow? It does, though.
Starting point is 01:54:59 Did you see the trailer and everything like that? I'm from New York City. I know about the heights. Yo, come on, B. I'm willing to believe you. Keep it 100. Keep it 100. Y'all telling me you don't want to see freaking Black Widow fight up against freaking whoever it is.
Starting point is 01:55:15 Spoilers, Donald. She's just seeing it in the heights first. I disagree. I disagree with that. All right, listen. He's getting all heated up. That's just me. That's just me. No disrespect, Lin-Manuel. No disrespect. Yeah, I'm sure Lin's watching. He's one of the 75 billion people watching this live.
Starting point is 01:55:36 That's too many people. That's too many people on Earth. We got other planets. We got other planets watching. We are galactic. Okay, everybody calm down. We're running out of time. The interesting thing is Brittany and Sam both wore purple. Were they told ahead of
Starting point is 01:55:50 time that purple is Joelle's favorite color? Did that just magically happen? It is legitimately my favorite color, Bill, and I don't know how you know that. It's freaking me out. How did you know that? Oh my God. Okay, now Brittany, if you were to take Joelle on a trip, I'm stealing your question, but would it be sort of camping vibes, you know, rustic?
Starting point is 01:56:13 Or would you go some gorge hotel and drinks by the pool? Look at me. We're going to drinks by the pool. Okay. Okay. We are drinking, drinking, drinking by the pool. Okay. We're going to drinks by the pool okay okay we are drinking drinking drinking by the pool and then we're gonna go sleep it off and if we're anywhere near a beach then we're gonna go drink on the beach okay well joelle what are you feeling about that um you know i'm i'm a lightweight when
Starting point is 01:56:37 it comes to drinking uh i'm not 20 anymore but i do love a love a perfectly mixed cocktail in the sound of the ocean. It's heavenly, so I'm about this. And how about jazz cabbage? Are you interested in any of that, Brittany? I will do an edible every now and then. Okay, Joelle, there could be some edibles on this date. I always have 10 milligram edibles on me. Like a holster.
Starting point is 01:57:01 Joelle, I'm in a holster. I wish I had them as Pe dispensers okay and now i know what to get you for your birthday uh edibles and a pest dispenser love it um all right it's time britney for you to tell us your perfect zoom date let's say you have a 15 to 20 to 30 minute zoom call if you are if you win this amazing contest what would um what would the vibe be for uh for for the zoom date britney don't worry about the parameters the last contestant's 15 minute date takes about three and a half hours whatever you're feeling i would first offer if we wanted to do like a shared cocktail
Starting point is 01:57:39 um and maybe send like a cocktail recipe ahead of time so that we can both try it and say like, well, what do you like about it? I like these flavors. That's good. And then I would go into a round of 20 questions, but if it's only 15 minutes, then we can just do kind of like a rapid fire. Like I answer 10, Joelle answers 10. Definitely have to ask, you know, about, you know, a little bit about the past. Not too much because it's just getting to know each other. And I would. Donald's wife already said the answer to every question about people you dated in the past is five.
Starting point is 01:58:17 Five of them. And that's only if Joelle wants to share it. That is none of my business. Good answer. Practice for tomorrow. Good answer. Good answer. is none of my business. Good answer. Practice for tomorrow. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer.
Starting point is 01:58:29 And then I would just end and ask, what was your favorite restaurant in Chicago? Oh my God. I want to know that right now though. I want to know right now. That sounds amazing. All right, Brittany, thank you. You're amazing.
Starting point is 01:58:47 You're beautiful. We're going to put you back in the green room while we discuss. Okay. Okay, now... Listen. They're both amazing candidates. They are both amazing. While you talk, you can now go vote.
Starting point is 01:59:01 While we discuss, you guys... Put it up there. Kyle, put it up there. Kyle, put up go vote. So while we discuss, you guys vote. Put it up there. Put it up there, Kyle. Put it up there. Kyle, put up the vote. Oh, my God. It's so close. Oh, it's close.
Starting point is 01:59:11 Very close. But we only have 370 votes. So everybody vote. Not now. Now we got 400,000. Hey, Kyle, put up the ticker just so they know where to go. There you go. Oh, it's happening.
Starting point is 01:59:22 OK. OK. This is exciting watching it in real time. Now let's talk, guys. Let's talk while the fans are voting um they're both really great candidates they're both beautiful charming um sound like definitely a similar interest from you as you yeah i like brandon because she has she's a burlesque dancer she's from the midwest you know so there's like there's a kind of that familiar energy, you know, going through, but like, Sam really slam dunked with like her date,
Starting point is 01:59:49 like just the description of like, the date was perfect. It was like a perfect date. She had it planned, obviously. She had it ready to go. The worst part, I have ADHD. So anybody who comes with a plan is instantly gets like a bonus two points for me. Um, because I'm not going to do it did you get a attracted vibe off of both of them i mean oh yeah i would not have brought them on if i didn't find they were both oh yeah joelle pre-screened them for sexual attraction all right cool well we bill we only have joelle to do this to read all the emails so we had that we had to and also it made sense we don't want to bring on a contestant.
Starting point is 02:00:25 She doesn't, isn't attracted to. So she, you know, physically she thought they were both beautiful. And then it was about like, can't we just bring them back one at a time and tell them that they both won. So Joelle gets everything.
Starting point is 02:00:37 So then neither knows the other one. No, I feel the same way. I feel Joelle should play to feel also. Well, listen, you guys, I do want to say that Sam is, is pulling a bit ahead in the poll from the fans.
Starting point is 02:00:50 Yes, I see that. It's still very close. I mean, by the way, we're in the thousands now. All right, here's what we're going to do. How about this? Kyle, come on for a second. Are we ready with the surprise end guest? Because what we could do, if Donald, you agree, is go to the surprise end guest and then thank him and then come back and see where this ended up.
Starting point is 02:01:15 Or her. Him or her. Yeah. Do you want to do that? Is that a good plan? I think that's perfect. Now, Kyle, is the super surprise guest ready? Yes.
Starting point is 02:01:28 Why do you say that? They're still working on his iPad camera. The super surprise guest has been emailed and has been alerted that their camera is sideways. And we're trying to work that part out. Okay. So while you work that out, let's check back in with the poll. Let's see where we are with the poll, guys. Okay. I think Sam is really clearly pulling ahead here.
Starting point is 02:01:56 No, well, it's early. It's early. Okay. Everybody keep voting. Keep voting. Okay. They're both great candidates. But gosh, we put so much work into
Starting point is 02:02:06 this whole find a poll that everyone could do. I really want to respect the poll. And why did you guys only hook Joelle up? Does Daniel need to be hooked up? No, Daniel is in love. Daniel just moved in with his beautiful gal.
Starting point is 02:02:21 Oh, that's awesome. Nothing's going to change at all, Daniel. Everything's going to be easy. She took me pants shopping today because none of my outfits were good enough for Family Feud. So don't worry. We have somebody more reasonable. Just know you are no longer a boss, bud.
Starting point is 02:02:37 Let me tell you something. I changed my clothes, Daniel. I watched her take a sweater out of my closet and then she made a face about how disgusting it was and put it in a trash bag, and then she got it out of the trash bag and tried it on herself, and then she smiled and folded it up
Starting point is 02:02:54 and put it in her bag. I love this moment so much. That journey. The journey. You were doing laundry. It was so bad. You were doing laundry earlier and I saw Stephanie
Starting point is 02:03:07 take a hoodie out of the laundry. That was mine. Fold it up and put it in her pile. She did what it was. I was going to say, it's not mine anymore. Alright guys, so Kyle, if you would bring the poll down and I think the plan should be to introduce the special guest
Starting point is 02:03:22 and then maybe give him or her some guidance on their camera when we have them. charmed mall rats, heathers, probably also know me from my stage four cancer diagnosis and sharing that journey with so many of you. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Colin Hay. Oh, it makes me so happy. Are you there? Colin, can you hear us? Are you muted?
Starting point is 02:08:01 Yeah, I can kind of hear. It's cutting in and out, which is a drag, but it's okay. I can see you all, and I know you're all there. Well, Colin, we can hear you, and I just want to say right off the bat, we are so honored that you're here. And Scrubs fans love you, as you know, and they love your music, and they loved your cameo. And we're just so thrilled that you're here to play a song for us. and we're just so thrilled that you're here to play a song for us. No, I can't thank you enough for using my music back then because it made a huge difference, especially to my live audiences. It brought the average age down by about 30 years.
Starting point is 02:08:39 By the way, I want to say that, give you a shout out, Colin. When the world reopens, you guys, and you see that Colin Hay has come to your city, anywhere on the world, anywhere on the world, you got to go see him. You know, normally when you go see a show and the music act will stop and tell a little bit of a story about the song, Colin is so frigging funny that you're kind of simultaneously going to a standup act because he tells these stories that have you laughing, like you're watching a standup comedian. And Then he goes into the most beautiful song you ever heard. I promise you, I go every time I can to go see him, whether it's New York or LA. It's a real treat.
Starting point is 02:09:13 Make sure to go see him when he comes to your city. Colin is going to honor us by playing one of our, me and Donald, and Bill's favorite songs that was on Scrubs. Colin, whenever you're... Go ahead, Donald. Before we start, guys, just make sure you mute your mics so we don't interrupt him when he's gone. Yes, everybody mute their mics. Here he goes, Colin. My, my, my It's a beautiful world
Starting point is 02:09:45 I like swimming in the sea I like to go out beyond the white breakers Where a man can still be free or a woman if you are I like swimming in the sea Where a man can still be free, or a woman if you are. I like swimming in the sea. My, my, my, it's a beautiful world. I like drinking Irish tea. With a little bit of lapsang and sushi.
Starting point is 02:10:33 I like making my own tea. My, my, my, it's a beautiful world. I like driving in my car I roll the top down sometimes And travel quite far Drive to the ocean Stare up at the stars I like driving in my car All around is anger.
Starting point is 02:11:07 Automatic guns. There's death in large numbers. No respect for women. We're our little ones. Try talking to Jesus. He just put me on hold. He said we'd swap our causes. We could not she gets cold.
Starting point is 02:11:31 Still, this emptiness persists. Perhaps this is as good as it gets. You've given up the drink and those nasty cigarettes now leave the party early at least with no regrets watch the sun as it comes up
Starting point is 02:11:57 now watch it as it sits this is as good as it gets my my my it's a beautiful world I like sleeping with Marie Not so much anymore She is one Full of mystery
Starting point is 02:12:22 She says she doesn't love me, but she likes my company. For now that's enough for me. I like swimming in the sea. I like to go out beyond the white breakers. Where I'm at is to be free. Or a woman if you are one. I like swimming in the sea. That was so incredible, Colin. Thank you so much. Oh, my pleasure. Thank you for having me.
Starting point is 02:13:27 I have such a connection Colin I have such a connection in my soul to that song and not only from seeing you play it live but also how Bill used it on the show and it really is one it really truly is I'm not just saying this because I'm in front of you truly is one of my favorite songs thank you very much thank Thank you. I appreciate that. Thank you for honoring us by being here. And please, if you're listening, I'm telling you, go see Colin Hay when he travels. When the world reopens and he comes to your city, go see Colin Hay. You won't regret it.
Starting point is 02:13:57 Not just that. If this is your first experience. See you soon. Look, man. Yeah, see you soon. That's right. That's right. Amen to that. Amen's right By Colin, thank you so much Yeah, don't continue I think he had a little trouble hearing but but go on with you you're saying like also by the music
Starting point is 02:14:18 If this is your first time listening to him listening to him or if this is your first experience of him or you know He has so many songs out there that are just so amazing. This is one of Zach's songs. This is one of my favorite songs too. Another song of his is waiting for my real life to begin. We put that on the show as well. I just don't think I'll ever get over you. They're just so many great Colin Hayes songs.
Starting point is 02:14:42 So if you get the chance, go get, go get some Colin Hayes. I don't think everybody knows. Colin was the first one that inspired us to build a show around a song. It was all of our cast. Donald doing it so well. Zach doing it well. Singing, waiting for my
Starting point is 02:14:56 real life to begin. It was the end of a musical when that character passed away. Even though I thought our cast killed it, it was so very pretty. Go listen to Colin Hayes sing that song. It's amazing.
Starting point is 02:15:09 That was incredible. And if you're a young person and you don't know, you should, Colin was the lead singer of a very famous band when we were younger called Men at Work. And they have some bops. Is that what the kids say, Joel? Bops?
Starting point is 02:15:22 That is what the kids say. They buy the bops. Yeah, my daughter says they're bops, you guys. Bops, guys. They have some bops. Is that what the kids say, Joel? Bops? That is what the kids say. Yeah, my daughter says they're bops, you guys. Bops, guys. They have some bops that you guys will love. All right. It's 8.01. We're about to be finished. Let's check in with the poll and discuss.
Starting point is 02:15:36 Where to poll at? Kyle? All right. Wait, did you refresh, Daniel? Did I refresh? Who's controlling the poll? Joel. Kyle is controlling it. It's got the automatic refresh on, so those are the current accurate numbers.
Starting point is 02:15:52 Okay. Well, it looks like Sam won. So, okay, you can take it away, Kyle. Now, guys, let's discuss. I think the fans all choose, you know, those who voted chose Sam. I think they're both great candidates and you could, you know, you could have a wonderful time with both of them. But I think, what do you guys
Starting point is 02:16:09 think? Let's go around the room. Daniel. I was a fan of them both. I'm leaning Brittany personally. Wow. Contrarian. She brought a really fun, confident energy to the conversation
Starting point is 02:16:25 and I was very appreciative of her. Sam was an excellent candidate, an awesome person. Seems like a really, really cool person. But there was just an energy that when Brittany came on the screen, especially after having to be the second act. Yeah, that was hard. Brittany did have it against her
Starting point is 02:16:41 that she was the second act. She had it against her and she came in with really strong, confident energy. And I appreciated that a lot. And again, Sam was an awesome, awesome person and no disrespect to them at all. But all right, Bill,
Starting point is 02:16:52 I, I, yeah, I mean, look, I had already voted for Sam six or seven times. You can only vote once bill. Don't lie.
Starting point is 02:16:58 So on that thing, I was probably unfair. And I also did tilt the scales a little against Brittany by making, being very exuberant about Sam and Brittany. It's always hard to follow someone that said, I watched Joelle light up when Sam was talking about the date. Yes. Because Joelle knowing her a bit better than you do bill.
Starting point is 02:17:18 Sam had her at weed and Mario cart. All right, Donald, what are your thoughts? I don't like either one of them. Mario Kart. Mario Kart. Yes. All right, Donald, what are your thoughts? I don't like either one of them. No. No, he's just being a hater. No, I'm not being a hater. Here's what's up.
Starting point is 02:17:34 It's about Marvel movies. Oh, because they didn't choose Black Widow? This is the stupidest way to judge them. That is not what. Listen, man, it's not the stupidest. First of all, first of all, check your tone. Second of all. Release the fight. Release the fight. Second of all, that's not the stupidest. First of all, check your tone. Second of all. Release the fight.
Starting point is 02:17:46 Release the fight. Second of all, that's not a stupid way to judge anybody. Listen, I feel. Go ahead. Joelle, you and I would have a better date than what those two said because we have better interests. Now, I am married, married yes and i do have children yes but if i'm going out of town for a bit and i'm gonna have i'm gonna miss you so i'm thinking maybe you and i could just have like zoom we'll not call the date because then it's
Starting point is 02:18:16 crossing the line we'll have like zoom conferences and stuff like that where we can talk things like yes it could be there i be there. I have a suggestion. We can talk Star Wars. We can talk a lot of things. I love it. I just feel like your interests weren't met in these. I like that you're standing up for Joelle,
Starting point is 02:18:37 but those two are there. By the way, you guys notice I've been drinking a candle the whole time? Is that what the question is? I really, I really did think, Oh, Bill started drinking too. And then no,
Starting point is 02:18:48 it's just a prop candle. All right. Here's the thing. I have a solution, Donald for your conundrum. And that is when black widow comes out on July 9th. Why don't you take Joelle and to the, to the theater?
Starting point is 02:19:00 I think you guys would be the perfect people to watch it. You know what? Joelle, I'm going to take you to see? I'm going to bring me, you, my kids, my wife, and your brother, and we're going to go see Black Widow. The seating has to be that you guys are together.
Starting point is 02:19:14 Yes, Bill. You and me at In the Heights because no one in my family will go with me. I will definitely go see In the Heights with you. Joel, would you like to come? I would love to come. Let's do this. Daniel didn't get invited. Danil, get in here. Let's do this. Danil didn't get invited. Danil, Danil.
Starting point is 02:19:29 Oh, no. Sad body. Sad body. Oh, Danil's got sad body. We made a plan for Danil. Danil's got sad body. It's okay. You know I'm busy streaming anyway. It's fine. Zach, Donald, Joelle, great show. Just leaving Danil out again. All right, listen.
Starting point is 02:19:47 Will you put up the stop hate graphic, please? Because I wanted to say a portion of tonight's proceeds are going to stopaapi hate.org. If you don't know what AAPI stands for, it is Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. And as we all know what's going on in current events, we here all stand very firmly against hate of any kind. And we are making a donation to them. And we hope if you are open to it and can spare a dollar or two that you give to them as well. So that's something we wanted to say. We also wanted to say once again, thank you to all the frontline healthcare workers that have put your, your own safety on the line during this past year. And you know,
Starting point is 02:20:33 this was a show. Continue to do it and continue to do it. And Bill, this was a show Bill created as a tribute to all of you. So thank you so much for tuning in and thank you for, for supporting us and for loving the show, but just know that we love you all so much for tuning in and thank you for, for supporting us and for loving the show, but just know that we love you all so much. And also to everybody out there who is a fake doctors,
Starting point is 02:20:51 real friends fan, you know, the people that, you know, joined us tonight. We love you guys so much. Like, you know,
Starting point is 02:20:58 sincerely the one thing that was great, there's a bunch of things that was great about scrubs, but one thing that was really cool is that we had a core audience that stuck with us. And we feel the same way about our Fake Doctors Real Friends audience. You know, you guys have, you know, granted, most of you are the Scrubs audience that stuck with us back then. But, you know, we truly, truly appreciate all the love and all the positive remarks and some of the hate, too. You know, I'm going to keep it 100 with y'all. all the love and all the positive remarks and some of the hate too. I'm going to keep it 100 with y'all. Some of the hate has helped
Starting point is 02:21:28 shape the show to be what it's become now. I love you haters too. Just thank you to Bill. To be sincere for a second, you changed our lives and we love you. I'm so glad that we're such good friends still. I'll never stop saying
Starting point is 02:21:46 thank you for changing our lives and also for introducing me to my life partner, Donald Faison. I'm prepared to admit, it's so fun to watch and you all have no idea how much it means to me that there's people that still care about something like a tv show it it makes me smile during really crappy times and uh i'm truly grateful for it i'm grateful to have gotten to know daniel and joelle as well so So thank you guys for letting me be a part of this. I don't deserve it, and you let me come on whenever I want. You do deserve it. You do deserve it.
Starting point is 02:22:30 What are you talking about, man? And the fans love it when you come on. The fans love it when you come on. So what else should we say, Joel? I mean, we're going to announce the winner, but what else should we say? I think Joel's got to make the final decision, doesn't she? I mean, we don't – Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, before't... That's the grand finale, Bill.
Starting point is 02:22:49 Is there anything Joelle or Dan will want to say? Thank you guys so much for listening and just being active participants. I loved being in the chat. As Donald said so eloquently, I love you haters. Y'all fuel me and drive me to do amazing. For the people who... someone said I look beautiful while Florence was on screen. And I was like, well, that's not my favorite person.
Starting point is 02:23:10 Whoever you were, thank you. It's my whole spirit. It's just lifted up. It's amazing. You are very beautiful. You're a very beautiful person. You're a beautiful person, obviously, and physically and your face, you're a stunning woman.
Starting point is 02:23:23 But you are a very, very, very beautiful person on the inside. And I feel amongst the many blessings this wonderful podcast brought us, it's a friendship with you two. And when we first met these guys, we didn't think that they would ever even speak. We didn't know that they would be a part of the show. And then we got to know them. And we were like, well, you guys should just be a part of the show. Well, we didn't actually say that. They just kind of had microphones one day.
Starting point is 02:23:47 No. Can't hold them in, Donald. Little by little, once we got to know them, we were like, you guys have to be a part of the show. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you to Kyle for being our
Starting point is 02:24:03 Hey. Shout out to Kyle. And thank you all. I got something to say. Eleanor, thank you. Eleanor, a big thank you to Eleanor for allowing me to be fake mean to her. But enough of that crap about how you're not into
Starting point is 02:24:16 me and it's all about that. All right. Go ahead. Thank you, Zach. Thank you, actually. Thank you. I don't ever get to say this, but when this was brought to me, I knew that it was a no-go unless you said yes.
Starting point is 02:24:33 You said yes, and now look at where we are. I appreciate you, brother. I love you. I honestly, this wouldn't, bizarrely, this wouldn't have happened probably without the pandemic. We may have started it, but then gotten busy with work and distracted. And so I really, I look forward to doing the audio podcast every week.
Starting point is 02:24:55 It gets us, you know, amidst all this, it's a fun thing for us all to laugh. And we sense that we're making you guys laugh. And that means a lot to us. I'm going to just be real honest, man. You don't want to thank me? I mean, I thank you. That was weird. That was awkward for everybody.
Starting point is 02:25:10 It was like, that was like, that was like, what the fuck, dude? Here's what I saw. Joel thanked Zach, Dan, me, and you, Donald. Dan thanked everybody. Only one person didn't thank one person.
Starting point is 02:25:26 It was only Zach. I didn't say anything about that. Daniel texted it. Zach, I mean, do that again? Ready? Do or do not. There is no try. Is that Frank Oz?
Starting point is 02:25:41 No, it's Donald Faison doing his best Frank Oz. Oh, my gosh. I do have an impersonation now that I do. Okay. So, all right. I love you very much. I love you more than you know. You're welcome.
Starting point is 02:25:52 And you're very, very important to me. But you're welcome, right? You're welcome. Yeah, there we go. All right. So, Joelle, drum roll, Daniel. Do you have a timpani lined up? I don't have a timpani on the sound effects.
Starting point is 02:26:03 All right. Well, let's all do a timpani on the mic. Okay. Joelle, who will you be choosing for your Zoom date? Well, listen, I respect the audience, so I'm going to go with Sam. We're going to see how it goes. But no,
Starting point is 02:26:20 be aware that I have Brittany's phone number. Okay. I think what's actually going to happen is you're going to go on a date with Sam and maybe it'll go well and you guys will hit it off. But if you guys find like, oh, she's awesome but we'll be friends. It's not a vibe.
Starting point is 02:26:36 Then you can take Brittany out and see how that goes. You got it. But Sam won, guys. All right. We did it. I don't think there is anything else to say, Daniel. I don't think there is either. Is that static coming through? Yeah, I got static, too. It's perfect time. The show's ending.
Starting point is 02:26:53 Thank you, everybody, so much. We love you, and that's the show. Thank you. That is the show. Bye, everybody. We love you guys so much. Thank you for coming out. Come on, Daniel. Watch out.
