Starting point is 00:02:42 or wherever you listen to podcasts. I saw something I wanted to buy you, but then I thought, um, Casey said there was a moratorium on buying you anything Star Wars. Okay, so here's the thing. I just want to know if I had permission to buy you this cool thing I saw. It depends on what it is. If it's something to be turned into a set prop. No, absolutely. Buy that shit. It's something you'd turned into a set prop, absolutely. No, it's not that.
Starting point is 00:03:06 It's not that. Buy that shit. It's something you can hang on your wall. Ooh. If it's like a vintage poster. Should I tell you and if you like it, it could be your Christmas present? No, because I want my Christmas present. I want you to think like you would buy something that you would buy for yourself for Christmas,
Starting point is 00:03:25 because I've really gotten into lenses and cameras. I'm not buying you a camera. Well, I'll just tell you, because I don't think Casey's going to allow it, but I stumbled across this amazing Italian poster for the original Star Wars. Oh! It's the original, it was the original Star Wars. Oh! It's, uh,
Starting point is 00:03:46 Look at his face. It was the original Star Wars poster. You guys should Google this. But it was almost, it was like done like a cartoon. Like they didn't take the exact art of the movie. The Italians, I guess in 75 was it, sort of did an interpretation of it. And it was, it's really cool. Oh, is it this one?
Starting point is 00:04:06 Get us to laity. Yes. Hold that up. Look, Donald. It's so cool. It's beautiful. Yes, you're raising your hand. Am I allowed to buy you the Italian Star Wars? Why would Casey say that couldn't be bought? I thought that Casey was like, please, no more Star Wars shit on our walls.
Starting point is 00:04:24 I thought that Casey was like, please no more Star Wars shit on our walls. Please no more Star Wars shit. She sounds like a prospector still. I feel like the last time I brought up something like this, she was like, I'm begging you, we need some nice art. Nothing Star Wars, please. Your Casey Cobb impersonation is spot on, bro. Yeah. I'm begging you, please.
Starting point is 00:04:59 We got enough. I'm begging you. We got enough. If we have one more Star Wars thing, I'm moving out. We already got Tatooine in the garage. She liked the indie poster I got you though. I got you the original UK Indiana Jones poster. Where he has a blue shirt on instead of... I saw it in a movie, in a movie that took place in a movie theater in that era.
Starting point is 00:05:48 There was this, in the UK, there was this gorgeous, horizontal OG Indiana Jones poster. And I was like, I quickly Googled it because I knew that must be original. They're not gonna put the fake thing up. And then I found it, I tracked one down, and I had it put on linen and I had it framed for Donald.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Let me ask you a question. It's an amazing poster, first of all, and it made me think of this and I've been wanting to talk about it on the podcast for a long time and I keep forgetting because I smoke so much weed. But when was the last time, it'll happen eventually, when was the last time that you watched Raiders of the Lost Ark? All of you, I'm asking all of you. I mean, decades. Long time.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Last year. Nice. It really is a classic movie now. You know what I mean? Like when you look at the way it's shot, the film stock, the sound, all of that stuff. It really is a classic movie. Like it looks like more like Lawrence of Arabia than it does the movies that are out now.
Starting point is 00:06:54 When it gets to Temple of Doom and everything like that, somehow it switches over and it's digital and all of that stuff. And we can go on with Last Crusade, but Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lost Ark, from what I can imagine, is the last film that I watched, where I was like, wow, I can honestly tell there was a difference, there was a split.
Starting point is 00:07:17 This is where, this is the last time George Lucas, in my opinion, he split, this was it. No more film, we're opinion, he split, this was it. No more film. We're going to move towards digital and you can see the progression from that moment on. It's really interesting. Even the sound, the way it, the punches, everything, it just sounds like, do you guys remember Annie? The movie Annie? Yeah. Did you ever watch Annie? M.G. Annie, The movie Annie? Yeah. Did you ever watch Annie?
Starting point is 00:07:45 Yeah, with Punjab? Yeah. With Punjab and all that stuff? Yeah. Do you remember when they went to the movies, Let's Go To The Movie, and they're watching the movie? Yeah. And how old that movie felt?
Starting point is 00:07:56 Yes. That was Raiders of the Lost Ark. That's what it feels like now. Okay. When you're watching it. You're making me want to revisit it. It's pretty good. It's really, I mean- Did I tell you- When you're drinking scene alone to revisit it. It's pretty good. It's a good it's really I mean
Starting point is 00:08:11 Thinking seen alone. Oh my gosh, just everything. Did I tell you guys to watch strange darlings that I mentioned that I Don't recall. I think starlings is a It's a movie that's out that I really highly recommend you can get it on your your streaming services But it's I really, really recommend that. I did watch something that you recommended. Finally, go ahead. What was it, Daniel? It was chimp crazy. Oh, you're welcome. You were not kidding at all.
Starting point is 00:08:38 It was that jinx level reveal at the end of episode two. Yeah, spoilers, Daniel. No spoilers, no spoilers. I was reeling Because I was I was you know, you're watching it and you're thinking no way does Certain thing happen and even though I was kind of no way to certain thing happened It even though I was kind of expecting it the way that it reveals itself is so mind-boggling. I was sitting up in my seat, I was leaning forward, I was like yelling at the TV. That was such a good watch.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Alright, that's good. I want to talk about something else I watched that Donald, you'll appreciate because I don't usually watch animated movies. I don't have children. I wanted you to watch something else, but I appreciate, I do appreciate you watching this. I watched this movie and it was so amazing. If you have kids, especially watch this, but even if you don't, The Wild Robot. Yeah. So dude.
Starting point is 00:09:38 That must be, that's one of the best movies of the year. Wow. Dude, my kids and my wife watched that shit. I passed out in the middle of it. I liked it. You didn't go back and finish it? I got the gist, but I'm crying with them in the end. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:54 I'm crying with them in the end. All right. Let's just put it there. Let's put it this way. You fell asleep, woke up, and then still cried in the end. Still cried at the end, yeah. Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo. Woo. That's funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Yeah. Yeah. That's funny. Yo, but for real, man, that movie is, from what I saw and the way my kids responded to it, like my son really responded to it, he turned to my wife and was like, mom, I know sometimes I don't act like I don't appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:10:23 I know I sometimes act like that, but I really do appreciate everything you do for me. Yeah, that's so sweet. I was like, I fucking love this movie. Yeah. This is the best movie ever. My wife never felt more appreciated ever. Oh, that's so sweet. But it really- It's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:10:43 It is beautiful, man. Let's keep it 100. It's beautiful. And you know, my mom, as you guys know, because she came out of the podcast, is an adoption specialist. She was a psychologist specializing in adoption and birth mothers her whole career. And I had this just realization while I was watching it.
Starting point is 00:10:58 It's also just, it's such a beautiful adoption story. If you have adopted kids, and I mean, all children will appreciate it, but if you happen to have adoption in your life, it really is about this robot adopting this baby bird and learning how to parent. I mean, I don't wanna ruin anything. It's just so moving to me.
Starting point is 00:11:18 I clutch my pearls for most of it. It's a good movie. That's a great recognition. It's a really good movie. Okay. I wanna see a Nora. That's a great recommendation. It's a really good movie. Okay. I want to see a Nora. That's the one. Oh, me too. You know about that one? Yeah. Yeah. I have someone talking about that one. Dude, I want you to watch Running Scared, man. And I want the audience to hear this too. Yeah, Donald thinks we should remake Running Scared. I've never
Starting point is 00:11:39 seen Running Scared. We should remake Running Scared. It's so good. And not the one with Paul Walker that feel like that's where a lot of the young audience is gonna go for Oh, is that did Paul Walker remake the movie? No, there was a movie Similarly titles, okay We're talking about the one with Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal. Okay this movie. I'm telling you just give it a watch Did you watch it? I did Casey told me you were rewatching it. It still holds up. Casey told me you were rewatching it. It still holds up.
Starting point is 00:12:07 You know what I mean? It's like the jokes are of the time, obviously, but dude, man, it's Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines and Jimmy Smith. And Jimmy Smith, what? Yeah, they're going ahead. Jimmy Smith is the bad guy, right? Yeah, man, and freaking Joey Pants is in it.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Like, dude, it's a good movie, man. We could still have Jimmy Smith come back and be the bad guy again. Amazing. Yeah, man, but that would be pretty cool. But, I mean, I'm not gonna ruin this by saying this, but he dies in the end. Oh, spoilers. Donald? Spoilers.
Starting point is 00:12:42 That's not a spoiler. It's a 90s, it's an 80s movie, man. All the bad guys die in the internet shit. Would you set it in Chicago, Donald? Keep it same city, new city. So here's the thing, I'm not from Chicago, so I couldn't necessarily portray the Chicago cop as well as someone from Chicago. We gotta take it in New York, but you know, hey I mean I was just in New York at a police station. I didn't get arrested. I lost my wallet With Gregory Hines and baryshnikov, why don't we remake that night? White night say, say me.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Say me, say it together. Say it for always. I loved White Nights when I was a kid, which is weird because it's by no means a kid's movie. And it's about breaking down the walls between America and Russia. I know it. Like they swap.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Swap. Do you remember, Joelle, have you seen this movie? Defectors. I have it. You gotta watch it. You're in Annabella Rosalini, seen this movie? Defectors. I have it. You gotta watch it. You and Isabella Rossellini is in this? It's amazing. And it's about a Russian ballet dancer
Starting point is 00:13:52 who wants to defect from Russia and Gregory Hines who plays an insane tap dancer. I forgot what the- I just said like a dancer in Russia. He defected to Russia. Why did he even defect to Russia? Yes he does. Why did he go to Russia?
Starting point is 00:14:08 I don't know, that's the movie, man. Like that's what I remember it as. When his plane makes an emergency landing in Siberia, ballet dancer Nikolai is recognized as a defector and brought into custody. So he doesn't defect, but he's recognized as a defector after an emergency landing. Oh, I see. But then there is a big tap scene, isn't there, doll?
Starting point is 00:14:33 This is the big dance scene. But the Phil Collins song, was that an original Phil Collins song from the movie? Say you, say me. It's not Phil Collins, bro. That was Lionel Richie. Lie now! Isn't there a Phil Collins song in the movie, too? No, you're thinking of, you're thinking of Against All Odds, and that's a Kevin Costner movie.
Starting point is 00:14:56 OK. Take a look at me now. That's such a bop. Because there's just an empty place, space. You're coming back to me It's a chance I gotta take That's a bop take a look at me now My doctor scared the shit out of me this morning. I didn't like it. Oh What'd he say? I went and had this body scan Donald you would like this as someone who's a hypochondriac.
Starting point is 00:15:28 You go in this MRI machine and they search your entire body for any tumors. And I just did it because like he told me to do it. And when you leave, they're like, okay, it's gonna to be two weeks. You'll hear. So this morning I get a text. It's like, the doctor would like to discuss your MRI results with you.
Starting point is 00:15:58 And then the text was like, how's like the 17th of November? It's the seventh today. I'm like, what? Ten days? You're telling me that he got the results instantaneously. He wants to discuss them in person, but he wants to wait till the- for 10 days. So I called that motherfucker up real quick.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Yeah, you do. Okay, hold on. That's a good- That's usually- Yeah, you do. That's usually- Hold up, that's usually a good sign. No, hold up. That's usually a, that's usually, Yeah, you do. That's usually, hold up, that's usually a good sign. No, hold up, that's usually a good sign.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Why, what do we have to talk about in person? Do I have cancer or not? If you did, he would wanna talk to you right away to get you on into therapy and stuff. Of course, but like, why are we talking about anything? Why are we talking about anything and why are we waiting 10 days? I don't know, bro.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Shoot me an email, bro, I can't. Exactly, why? I don't know either, so let's call. I texted him, I was like, what the fuck? What are you doing? You're gonna ruin my whole day? I'm too neurotic for this. What'd he say?
Starting point is 00:16:55 He goes, it's standard procedure when you have an MRI, you discuss it. I go, well, now you got me scared. He goes, oh no, everything's fine. Nothing to worry about. I'm like, what the fuck did you text me that for? I don't need to come in. Sorry, lead with that.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Everything's fine, but I just wanna go over the- I'm not coming in. I'm not coming in in 10 days to look at nothing. I'm busy. Oh my gosh. But for a solid 20 minutes, I was like, I'm dying. I'm dying. Start giving away shit.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Start giving away clothes. Donald can have these socks. I want the money. Not kidding you Mike. I've left you no money. My mom gets all my money. There it is. I'm taking my mom to the Baby to Baby Gala.
Starting point is 00:17:52 I guess you're not coming Donald. You know what? Once again, Donald and Casey have bailed on something we were going to do together. Here is the thing bro. Keeping it 100 with you. I respect the gala and I'm really down to go, but it is on a weekend. I do have time to myself on these days and I don't want to spend it. I actually understand this. Usually Donald, I'm like, get out.
Starting point is 00:18:20 But lately I've been craving so much alone time. That's fine. I want to spend it. That's fine. The point is that once a year there's this very big gala in LA and it's all for impoverished children and it's a big deal and we often go. Donald, Casey and I have gone. I've taken my mom a few times. It's been a few years since I've taken my mom,
Starting point is 00:18:42 but I'm taking her this year. And Donald and Casey and I had all discussed going. It's a big fundraiser. I want to sit at the table with you though, bro. It is a big fundraiser and it's a great fundraiser. And it does things like gives diapers to, this is one of the most important things that parents need, young parents need.
Starting point is 00:19:00 It gives diapers to children. It gives a bunch of things. It's a lot of money for a great cause. And you also run into people you haven't seen in a while. And I was excited. And Donald and Casey said they were going. And I invited my mom and she went and got a beautiful gown and it's black tie. And then I check in with Casey and Donald this week. Oh, you are a fucking asshole. Fuck you, dude. Don't even try this. Don't even try this.
Starting point is 00:19:24 What have I said false thus far? You're just misleading. It's not false. You're saying everything is true, but you are misleading I haven't seen anything To go to a charity event you were like yo, hold on though. This shit cost money. Hold on. No, it is a charity event Yeah, you can afford it. You donate is a charity event. Oh yeah. Yeah. You can afford it. Usually you donate to a charity. You can afford a ticket. That's why you get money.
Starting point is 00:19:48 This is the peer pressure again. Y'all this is how they do. So then I check in with Casey and Donald and Casey's like, Oh, we ain't going no more. And I'm like, what? We never got a sitter and, and I know we ain't going to be able to sit next to you, we're just not going to do it.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I never did get a gal. I would have to get hair and makeup. Please no more star wars things on the walls. Oh man, you do her dirty. You do her so dirty. I guess y'all ain't going. But I'm taking my mom. My mom's so cute.
Starting point is 00:20:32 My mom this morning texted me. I set her up with a stylist and everything and she's so cute. She's like, family dress. And she's sent me all these cute pictures of her in her dress. It's going to be so sweet. It's a Saturday night. Yeah. Anyway, Donald, I'm sorry that you don't like giving
Starting point is 00:20:50 to a good cause, but to each their own. That's some bullshit, bro. I do like giving to a good cause. I just, I'm gonna be honest with you, man. Look, you know me. You don't like to leave the house. You know how I am. You don't like to leave the house, I got it.
Starting point is 00:21:05 It's just what it is. There's no judgment. Some people don't even like to leave the house. I like to leave the house, but I like to leave the house and do, look man, the last time we had such a good time, but we sat together, we drank together, we laughed together. I don't wanna sit at a table with people I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:21 I don't wanna freaking, I mean, this sounds like an asshole thing to say, but like Yo, what if I get sat at a table with an asshole and that's gonna suck and it can happen And so, you know, well, I think at these type of things you're not like stuck at your table You're mingling you're talking to friends. You know, so many people know there's a comp There's a meal that's served all types of shit man. Yeah, I want to sit with you. No, there's a comp, there's a meal that's served, all types of shit, man. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:46 I wanna sit with you. I wanna go with you. I wanna be with you guys. I wanna be with you guys. Do you know the movie, Danil? Let's see if Danil knows the movie. He has no clue. I wanna be with you guys.
Starting point is 00:21:57 The first one that came to mind was Goonies, but I think I'm wrong. It's close. No. No. It has not one person in Goonies is in that movie. Well, it's not cast close, it's era close. I don't know, what is it? I wanna be with you guys.
Starting point is 00:22:10 16 Candles. It's 16 Candles. Oh, I love that movie. There's a scene at the prom and there's a nerdy kid and his parents are forcing him to go to the prom and they push him into the gym and they close the doors and he goes, but I wanna be with you guys. I wanna stay home, I wanna be with you guys.
Starting point is 00:22:25 That's funny. All right, Donald, so I'll let the charity know that you're not charitable. It's not that I'm not charitable, I'll totally give money to the charity. Oh really, do you plan to give money to the charity? Not really, but I will now let you put me on the spot. Shit, if that's what it takes to fucking. God.
Starting point is 00:22:49 You're hilarious. Well, my mom and I will. I'm hilarious, you're hilarious. This whole court's hilarious. My mom and I will represent for the Faison family. You guys won't dance like we dance when we're at that thing? No, we're probably not gonna dance. I believe they're honoring Charlize Theron.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Oh, we should go. That's a buddy. We should go. Yeah, it's a shame. You could still go. I don't know why. Let me text her. Let me text. I just don't understand why, you know, there's so many things that get promised and then not fulfilled upon. Did we go to Vegas? Yeah, because Casey thought you were going to keep the Scrubs reboot. There's so many things that get promised and then not fulfilled upon. Did we go to Vegas? Yeah, because Casey thought you were going to keep the Scrubs reboot.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Did we have a good time in Vegas? Do you want to discuss what you guys said about me last week? Do you want to discuss it? Can we talk about how you got in your feelings? We could totally discuss it. What happened? We missed a week, so we haven't been able to talk about that. Oh my God, this is the funniest thing in the world.
Starting point is 00:23:47 So I'm talking about- I don't know if it's funny, but I do want to discuss it. Casey, I was FaceTiming Casey and she said that Donald got in his feelings about something that happened on the podcast. And I'm like, what could possibly have put Donald in his feelings? And she said that when you said that no one would subscribe to his OnlyFans, he got upset. No, because first it started off as no woman would subscribe. No grown woman, no young woman.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Well, because I don't think of women as- And then you said no gay man. No, no, no young woman. Because I don't think of women as- And then you said, and then you said no gay man. No, no, no. You said no, yes you guys did. No, I said gay men. You didn't say that. I said gay men would love your OnlyFans. Who was a guest that day?
Starting point is 00:24:37 It was Michael Urie. I don't remember. Oh, it was Michael Urie. Yeah, Michael Urie, a gay man said that no gay man would ever. No, I think you miss. You can subscribe. No, that's not what I sound. Cut to the tape right here. All I know. Cut to it.
Starting point is 00:24:52 OK, cut to the section right here, now. Yeah, I don't think you're going to make that much. I think it's a niche market. You do. But you do. My ass is fucking beautiful. And I'm sure it My asshole is beautiful. I'm sure there's a lot of gay men that would be intrigued. And straight women.
Starting point is 00:25:10 I don't know how many straight women want to see your balls for money. But maybe I can. Daniel, what are your thoughts? It's certainly possible. I mean, survey says, survey says. Daniel, how many do you think you can? 100 women out there. I'm sure there's plenty of people who would want to see Donald's balls.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Yeah. No, he's saying there's no women that want to see my balls. No, I'm sure some. They'd be women or people. I'm sure they- No, no, no, no, he said no women. I'm sure for 10 bucks there's women who'd be like, I'm curious.
Starting point is 00:25:36 He said only gay men would want to see my balls. I'm sure there are women as well. Yeah, but Dan, what do you think the biggest percentage of the pie chart would be would be gay men? I think the biggest pie chart would be a straight scrubs fans, man. I mean, I mean, I think the curiosity would probably get them. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:25:59 And you know, like, like mid forties, women who love clueless, probably. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I don't know about gay men. I'm not sure if I don't know. I totally would get gay men. What are you talking about? I wouldn't get gay men. If you listen, if you're not into this and you don't, you don't deserve it anyway. Then how about that? If you all ain't into this, then you don't deserve it. That's universal. That's for everybody out there.
Starting point is 00:26:23 I'll tell the gays. I'll let them know. All right. Now that we're back, I just want to... Now that we've watched that. I want to clarify something. I didn't mean to get you in your feelings about no one subscribing to your OnlyFans. You said no one would want to freaking subscribe...
Starting point is 00:26:40 No, here's what I meant to say. ...to my OnlyFans, bro, because, and dude. But, Juel, Juel, he wasn't kidding. Casey was like, yo, yo, Donald got in his feelings about what you said that no one would watch his OnlyFans. He said, I still have sexual powers and I want my best friend to acknowledge it. No, listen, Donald, I want you to know I would subscribe. I would watch the fuck out of it. That's not what I'm asking for. All right. That's not what I'm asking for, bro. No, listen, Donald, I want you to know I would subscribe. I would watch the fuck out of it. That's not what I'm asking for.
Starting point is 00:27:06 All right. That's not what I'm asking for. And I'm sure, listen, I don't know. I don't know. Joelle, do you think, let's ask Joelle a question. Joelle, do you think straight women are subscribing to sexy men's OnlyFans? Is that something that straight women do? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:28 I think at a far lower percentage rate than straight or gay men. Right. I wouldn't imagine straight men looking at women. None of my friends have acknowledged openly to me that they subscribe to OnlyFans. But I'm sure at least one of them does. What I was saying to you, Donald,
Starting point is 00:27:42 is that I think that when I think of only fans, it's men watching women. I imagine gay men watching men. I don't I don't think of it as a site, and I could be totally wrong, where straight women are going on to look at men beating off or showing their balls or whatever. But would they go to a site to watch a straight man do stop motion animation for a few hours? No, absolutely not. Absolutely not. But I don't want you to think- I disagree homeboy.
Starting point is 00:28:12 I disagree homeboy. I just want you to know that I would watch your only fans- If I'm butt naked doing stop motion animation, absolutely somebody's watching. I think I go back to what Michael Urie said. Dick swing just like this. I think I go back to what Michael Urie said and the bulk of the subscribers would be curious Scrubs fans.
Starting point is 00:28:34 No, that was what Danil said. Oh yeah, Danil said that. Yeah, straight Scrubs fans are the ones who are excited for this shit. I don't want you to be in your feelings about it. I would love to watch your own videos. I'm not in my feelings anymore. You guys are just assholes and don't know anything about anything.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Kasey said that. I was like, oh shit, what did I say? And she was like, he's all upset in his feelings that y'all wouldn't watch his OnlyFans. It's not that you wouldn't watch my OnlyFans, it's that you think that no one... Well, I think you got upset thinking that what I was saying was that women don't find you attractive, which is not what I was saying at all. And then the gay man said, and gay men don't find you attractive either. No, no, no. I don't think that's what happened.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Cut to the tape. You have big, bare energy, Donald, and I'm sure the gays would love you. Yeah, Donald, you have big, bare energy. Come on. And the straight scrubs fans. If you're a gay and you would like to watch Donald's OnlyFans, let us know in the comments. Send the emails to Joel. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I don't have Donald's Instagram. Actually, why don't we have, if you're a gay person who would subscribe to Donald Faison, we'd love to have you on the show as a guest. And, Joel, what's the email to have them come on? Right. ScrubsIheartatgmail.com Scrubs, wait, gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Scrubs, wait, can I get a guest press? Absolutely. We don't want to do a whole hour with you. We would just like to, if you could send us a quick 30 second video letting us know what you would like to see on Donald's OnlyFans. With words. Yeah, use your words. Don't be shy.
Starting point is 00:30:05 And don't censor yourself. Like really, we'd like a guest who really can articulate what they'd like to see. With your clothes, listen, don't go, I want him to do this and then I'll... It must be YouTube appropriate. Yes, thank you. It's gotta be YouTube appropriate. We can't air it. But you can, don't censor yourself.
Starting point is 00:30:20 If you're like, I want to see Donald Fist himself, whatever it is. Let us know. I don't know. My word has not prepared. yourself if you're like I want to see Donald fist himself whatever it is let us know I was not prepared I don't know that my arms are long enough to do that you don't know if you could fist yourself you could fist yourself if for all you fans if the money was right if the money's right I don't know if I'm gonna do it
Starting point is 00:30:41 you just have Tatooine you could build the whole Star Wars universe in your garage. For one fist thing. But it would be my fist, right? My fist? Yeah, it's your fist. It's not the guest fist. Unless that's what the guest wants. What if we got Brett in here? Is Brett here? Yeah.

Starting point is 00:33:37 Very powerful. I'm Ellie Flynn and I'm an investigative journalist. When a group of models from the UK wanted my help, I went on a journey deep into the heart of the adult entertainment industry. I really wanted to be a playboy model. Lingerie, topless. I said, yes, please.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Because at the center of this murky world is an alleged predator. You know who he is because of his pattern of behavior? He's just spinning the web for you to his pattern of behavior. He's just spinning the web for you to get trapped in it. He's everywhere and has been everywhere. It's so much worse and so much more widespread than I had anticipated. Together we're going to expose him and the rotten industry he works in. It's not just me, we're an army in comparison to him. Starting point is 00:35:16 They actually looked at the July issue that I had prototyped, and they said, this is fabulous. What would you do next July? And I said, well, living is a limitless subject matter. Listen to math and magic on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everyone. It's John, also known as Dr. John Paul. And I'm Jordan, or Joe Ho. And we are the BlackFatFilm Podcast.
Starting point is 00:35:42 A podcast where all the intersections of identity are celebrated. Ooh chat, this year we have had some of our favorite people on including Kid Fury, T.S. Madison, Amber Ruffin from the Amber and Lacey Show, Angelica Ross and more. Make sure you listen to the BlackFatFilm Podcast on the iHeartRadio app, have a podcast or whatever you get your podcast girl. Ooh, I know that's right. Oh, thunderous applause.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Daniel, ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Brett Goldstein. We did it big, you guys. We did it fucking big. Listen, I think we got a fucking real A-lister. We got a big star. We just got to cut right to it. So, Hercule's, let's get into it. Listen, calm down.
Starting point is 00:36:32 I noticed that you've been lifting weights. Calm down, okay? Donald's very excited you're here, Brett. I'm very excited. Brett, these are our support team, our producer Joelle, our engineer, Danil. Hey, big fan of all of your work. I'm a big fan of the podcast. I've been listening since the beginning.
Starting point is 00:36:50 It is great. Wow. Honored to do this. I've worked with Zach and with Donald. It's so nice to have you on the show because we've been wanting to have you. We have so many things to talk to you about. We don't even know where to begin
Starting point is 00:37:03 because we have so many questions for you. Oh, but can we talk... Oh, no, listen, it's your show. I want to talk about... What do you want to talk about? I want to talk about my experience working with Donald, because it was one of my... It was like my most exciting first sort of time in Hollywood,
Starting point is 00:37:23 where I was like, holy shit. And I did this pilot with this how all of this began is I did this pilot with Bill Lawrence and it was called Space Tech. Spaced out. Yeah, spaced out. And I remember and it was about going to Mars. About going to Mars. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Six, seven, eight. No. Turn it off. Turn it off. Oh my god My god bill Lawrence everybody crashing the podcast behind Brett Goldstein He's doing finger countdown on his fingers. Phil, we can't. Do we even have an opening? Like a musical opening?
Starting point is 00:38:09 They're being great. They're very happy to see you. Sorry, I realize you can't hear me. Okay, they're very excited to see you. Were they able to hear me scream 5, 6, 7, 8? Yes, we were able to hear that. We were able to hear that. I can hear him doing it whenever I want for the rest of the interview.
Starting point is 00:38:23 No, tell them to get out of there. They said no. They'd rather you didn't. I'm gonna it whenever I want for the rest of the interview. No, tell them to get out of there. They said no. They'd rather you didn't. I'm going to mute Brett. It's probably for the best because I have to go back to work in five, six, seven, or eight minutes. Oh my god. Five, six, seven, or eight minutes.
Starting point is 00:38:42 No, stop. Turn that off. Turn it off. Thank you. All right, get him out of there. Get him out of there, Brett. All right. All right, so you guys. Please, thank you. Get him out of there, Brett.
Starting point is 00:38:51 So, I do this. I don't want the audience to think that Brett and Bill live together. Brett is currently writing his show, Shrinking with Bill, and they work in the same office. Okay. But we also do live together. So, I, so I get, I'm a big Scrubs fan.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I get hired to do this pilot and then Bill says, oh, we're going to bring in Donald Faison. And I was like, what the fuck? Get out of here. I remember, I remember making that pilot. I remember you being the sweetest Person on the planet you hugged a lot. I remember you hugging me Brett is a great hugger well cuz he's very muscular
Starting point is 00:39:38 So when you hug him you get a lot of muscles in your hug. I squeeze I like to squeeze. Were you always a fit in your hug. I squeeze, I like to squeeze. Were you always a fit person, I don't mean in the British sense, I mean in the American sense. Yeah, you mean in the. Were you always a muscular fellow into being in shape?
Starting point is 00:39:52 Yeah, I always did. I always did push-ups like I was in prison. Mm-hmm. You know? Right on, nice. Let's go back to the... I wanna go back to when I met you. I, Brad Goldstein, I met you on a show called Ted Lasso.
Starting point is 00:40:12 I was directing the second episode of the series. Thunderous applause, Danny. Yeah, thunderous applause. Yeah, it was called Biscuits. It was the one about the biscuits. And I think our audience would love to know this unique story about how you got cast, because for those of you who don't know, Brett was hired by Bill, because they had this relationship
Starting point is 00:40:30 you just mentioned, as a writer on Ted Lasso. Bill really thought Brett was very talented as a writer, and he wanted obviously some English perspective on the story. So Brett, tell us how, tell the audience how that happened because you were not in any way up for the part of Roy Kent and you did something that I think is really courageous and ballsy and inspiration to other creative people out there. What happened was we were writing the show and I sort of secretly thought about episode five,
Starting point is 00:41:04 around episode five, I was like, oh, I think I know Roy Kent. I know what, I really felt a calling. Like, I think I'm meant to be Roy Kent, but I also know no one's thinking of me for this. And it is an embarrassing thing to ask in the writer's room. And if I ask to even audition, it's gonna make everyone uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:41:22 and everyone's gonna feel embarrassed and awkward. Because also no one's thinking of me in this way. So when we finished the writers room, I did a self tape, I filmed five scenes and I was flying back to England and I emailed Bill and I said, look, I secretly think I could be Roy Kent but I know this is really awkward. Here's a tape, if it's shit, pretend you never got it.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I will never ask you about it. This is between us. But if it's good, here you go. And when I landed in London, I had an email from Bill saying, this is fucking brilliant. And I was like, I don't know shit. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:42:01 It was very exciting. It was very, very exciting. Wow, but that was so vulnerable and ballsy of you because it could have gone the other way where he was like, oh great, and then somebody else gets the part and you're there and you feel like you put yourself out there but it didn't pay off. Well, it was like, what's the worst case scenario is, the worst case scenario, because I thought it for it, is that he feels so uncomfortable that if there's a season two, I don't get asked back to write on it
Starting point is 00:42:29 because he doesn't want to ever see me again. That was the worst case. But then on the other hand, I always think with these things, what have you got to lose? It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. It matters well. You know what I mean? But that attitude, which I think is an inspiration to people out there listening,
Starting point is 00:42:46 whether they're gonna make that courageous choice or not, changed your entire life. I mean, the decision of you to hit send on that email, which was ballsy and which was vulnerable and which was courageous and took chutzpah, changed your entire life, which I just think is so inspirational to people. I mean, you don't know, you didn't, I didn't know that. Like as in that's the other thing is the reality, true, true, true reality. I'd made loads of stuff. I made
Starting point is 00:43:14 this pilot with Donald. Honestly, honestly, the pilot that me and Donald did was brilliant. Like I thought that was gonna be, remember when we, like it was sort of heart breaking. We got close, yeah. We got so close. It was on the bubble of, when we like it was sort of we got close yeah we got so close it was on the bubble of it looked like it was gonna go I mean Ruben directed it too yeah you know it was and we had Ruben directing Bill writing and then the cast was like a bunch of young comedian type yeah funny like some of the guys were influencers and stuff and were doing things online and stuff like that. Like it was really ahead of its time. And I thought it was going to go, man. It was like scrubs in space to keep it 100 with you. Scrubs in NASA. It was. Scrubs in a rocket factory. And when we, you remember when on that last day, we filmed over a week and on that last day,
Starting point is 00:44:06 I remember so decently, because I was like, I guess this is it boys. Jeff Ingold shook my hand and he said, see you in August, because we're gonna be making this thing. And I flew back to England, you know, packing up my house. I guess I'm moving to Hollywood, baby.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Yeah. So now- You just never know. You never know. So my point is, when I did the Roy Kent thing, there wasn't a part of me. If you put all the pressure on of like, this is the life changing. It was like by that stage, I didn't think anything was going to happen. As in I thought we'd make a good show and no one would see it.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Or, you know, I mean, like I didn't expect. I just think it's good to have the balls and the courage to try. I wrote a, I don't know, you don't know this story, Brett, but the audience, I've told this story, but I'll tell it quickly. I wrote a first season of Scrubs. I wrote a spec script for Scrubs. Oh yeah, I do know this.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Do you know the story? You know the story? It's one of my favorite stories. Well, you can please tell it. So I'll tell it quickly for audience that doesn't know the story. But I had such balls. I had such courage.
Starting point is 00:45:04 I had such, I had such, I don't know. You were naive, man. I was naive, but I was also, no, but I was very driven. It didn't pay off that day, but it would pay off in other ways throughout the course of my career. But I wrote a whole episode of Scrubs, and I had the balls to give it to Bill and go, I would really like to write an episode of the show.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Mind you, this is season one. This is episode three, bro. Episode, dude, yes it was. It was pretty early. It was pretty, no, you know what? It couldn't have been that early. It wasn't that early. It couldn't have been that early.
Starting point is 00:45:39 It wasn't that early. But I gave it to Bill and he, this is not an exaggeration, it's gonna sound like the cartoon movie version of this. A PA, I gave it to Bill and a PA brought it to me the next morning and said, hey, I found this in the parking lot and it's got your name on it and it had a tire track over the title page of the script.
Starting point is 00:46:10 And Bill claims that he must have left it on the Rovers car because he drove over it. Yeah, stop. I think he was making a point. I think Bill loves you so much. I think Bill put the tire mark over it. No, he didn't. And freak, I mean, I think Bill loves you so much. I think Bill put the tire mark over it. No, he didn't. And freak, I mean, I think-
Starting point is 00:46:27 He read it. He ultimately read it. I think he read it and said, wow, really cool. This kid's got fucking huge balls. I gotta teach him a lesson. Let me show him. I don't think he purposefully drove over it.
Starting point is 00:46:41 I think it shows how he felt about it, like, oh, this fucking kid, and then forgot it on his roof it shows how he felt about it, like, oh, this fucking kid, and then forgot it on his roof. But he did ultimately read it, and he gave me notes on it. So, and then, you know, it did lay some foundation for what was to come, but he wasn't ready to take me seriously at that point as a writer.
Starting point is 00:47:01 I mean, some of the best stories are when people take control of their destiny and take a leap you know I think that's yes that's what I'm trying to highlight about Brett Goldstein. I think I I say that shit then man you're dancing around it like yo you got balls Brett that's the dopest shit we've heard man to take To take a page out of Zach's book, of all of the really dope creators, you did something that we all admire, and that is you took control of your destiny
Starting point is 00:47:37 and fucking made something happen. Yes. And that's what I'm trying to say. Thank you very much. Thank you. And I just think that's an inspiration. I think that's an inspiration. But now how did Jason, Jason was your another co-creator
Starting point is 00:47:50 and obviously you dipped your toe in the water with Bill. How did Jason, I mean, obviously he loved it too or he wouldn't have cast you, but how did that go with Jason? Oh, well, I believe, cause I wasn't there then because I was back in London. So I believe then Bill took it to Jason, and then Jason liked it, and then they showed all the writers in the writers' room.
Starting point is 00:48:10 They went, are we wrong? Is this good? And I think that they are then. Are we wrong? Is this good? And then I had to, and then it got sent to Apple. And the thing that was, the truth is, I forget this bit, is that actually the self-tape I'd done, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:26 if you, like my managers have like a self-tape room in their office, so I'd just gone to their office and they will have a, whoever's, like an intern, they will have an intern read in with you. But the intern that they had was this Swedish guy. So I was doing my scenes with Keely. The off-camera gut was a man, a Swedish man doing Keely's lines. So Apple eventually asked, just in case, could you do it with a woman, just to see if his sounds right.
Starting point is 00:48:54 So I had to redo it. I always think that's important to tell actors that, I know it's not always possible, but try and read with someone who's at least a decent actor, and ideally the right sex. Don't do it with your wife though. Well, why? Really?
Starting point is 00:49:11 Isn't your wife a... No, my wife tries to support me, and all I get is you're gonna do it like that. Oh, well, that's your unique situation. I just think it's hard when, as a director, when I watch tapes and the person off camera is like, but there's a fire in the house, and we need to get out as soon as possible.
Starting point is 00:49:30 It's very distracting, and you're like... Sometimes you can't avoid it, because that's all you got. But sometimes you know when you watch self-totes, you know when the person off camera wants a part, when they're really... When they're like... You can hear them crying, and really pausing, and you're like, we're not watching you. And I was once, I was, yeah, go ahead. No, I was just making an observation
Starting point is 00:49:53 as a fan of the podcast, I've never seen it. And just Joelle, do you look so lovingly at the screen at all times? Yeah, Joelle's our support system. She's like a big hug. She just supports us. So comforting. And then she only pipes in when we've said
Starting point is 00:50:08 something inappropriate that we need to cut back. That's not true. That's not true. You really look like you, you really, if I may say, you really look like you love these guys. It's really nice to see. Oh, Brett. That's so sweet.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I do. She's like your buddy, you know. We spend a lot of time together. I care. We love Joelle. We couldn't make the show without her, Brett. She makes the whole thing run. Look, Dano and Joelle, when we first started this show, they were not supposed to be on the show.
Starting point is 00:50:38 They were just supposed to be producers. And we just had so much fun talking to them. And also it was during COVID and everything like that. So it like kind of forced us all to really express what we were going through and you know, what our lives were like at that moment. And it just made for good podcasts. Well, I just-
Starting point is 00:50:57 I can't see the podcasts without them now. Well, we just enjoy talking to them so much. And we're a family here. So we love having them be a part of it, even though Danel's probably off camera playing a video game right now. Right, he's playing Twitch. Is that what they do?
Starting point is 00:51:12 They play the Twitch? Yeah. So Zach, you then, Zach then directed Ted Lasso, and I was a very big fan of The Scrubs, and I was really nervous of meeting Zach as I was when I met you Donald and Zach I didn't realise was very charming. He's very tall and very charming and very charismatic like in real life he's like you sort of he's very impressive he's sort of like fucking out. Very charming And we're in the middle of nowhere in England in this sort of quite, it's not like very nice
Starting point is 00:51:48 where we film Richmond and it was like, here comes Hollywood walking in. And we were all, all of us, the whole cast were quite like, we're really self-conscious because we were doing read-through. It's like read-through of episode two and suddenly there's fucking Zach Braff from Scrubs and Garden State and everyone, all of the cast kept nudging each other,
Starting point is 00:52:05 like, have you seen, have you seen his hair? Have you seen his hair? And I was like, how are we gonna work with this guy? But he was brilliant. It was so, that's very sweet of you to say. That's fucking awesome, Durv. It's very sweet of you to say, but I met this cast who became global sensations.
Starting point is 00:52:22 I'm about to say, did you know when you met this cast where you were like, this fucking shit's gonna be a fucking monster? I really didn't. I thought, listen, you have to understand that other than Jason, no one was a household name. And I thought that it was very funny. I thought they were all super talented.
Starting point is 00:52:43 I thought the show was good. I just didn't have any I thought the show was good. I just didn't have any guests at the audience for it. I thought, you know, people who love soccer will love this. Obviously Jason's hilarious and he's got a huge fan base. But, and I was really proud of the way that episode came out. I thought it was really special
Starting point is 00:53:01 and it had the Bill Lawrence special, which is you're laughing and then it breaks your heart a little. But I would never have guessed that Ted Lasset would become the global sensation that it became. But when you look at it now, it really was not only to jump off for all of the cast members, like everybody's gone on to do great things and stuff, but it's also like Ryan Reynolds and his partner,
Starting point is 00:53:30 they kind of owe you guys a fucking, a hat tip or something, man. Because like they took the sensation, the global sensation that Ted last went. People who had never watched soccer in their, or sorry, football in their life, were all of a sudden watching, were watching it and trying to understand it
Starting point is 00:53:52 because they loved the characters on Ted Lasso. And Ryan and his partner, they took that momentum and that motherfucker is rich. He is a wealthy motherfucker now because of it. Real talk. I don't think that's the only thing that's made him very rich He was doing fine without it sure I'm sure but that thing has So Brett, um, yeah, so tell us about like so we're shooting this little thing and he's right It's you know, the sound stages aren't fancy. It's a it's a bit of a
Starting point is 00:54:23 There was nothing glamorous about the shoot. And also, episode two, because Zach invented a camera. I don't know if this is boring, but part of the way the Ted Lasso looks is defined by Zach Graf. No, thank you. Because episode two is the first time you see a football scene, and we were told suddenly on the day, oh, you're not allowed to put any equipment on the pitch. And it was like, oh, shit. So Zach built a rig with some of the guys,
Starting point is 00:54:54 these giant wheels. With the key grip and the DP, we had to come up with a unique way to shoot the soccer because the field is so special and the pitch, as they call it, the greensmen were like, you're not putting any gear on this, what the hell do you think? And soccer moves so fast that you couldn't have some of the traditional ways we would have shot something.
Starting point is 00:55:15 And normally here in the States, we probably would have used an electric card of some kind or something. Anyway, so we came up with this rig that had these big tires and it was a remote head so the DP could operate it from the side and it was really fun and it was like a Unique assignment for this particular show and then it became one of the main tools they used to shoot We used the same thing season three. Yeah, and it's literally a guy like with a sort of what you call it wheelbarrow basically
Starting point is 00:55:42 well, what's cool is they run. I can show you a picture of it because I have it saved in my favorites because it's a favorite. But the grips would then put on soccer cleats and run with it so that they could, because obviously that was allowed, and then it would enable us to get amazing shots and was completely remote. The head of the camera was completely remote controlled from the sidelines. You invented this shit, bro?
Starting point is 00:56:09 Well, with the key grip, I don't wanna take full credit. With the key grip. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on, I'm trying to get a focus for y'all, hold on. My dude, you are a part of, yeah man, you are a part of cinematic history, my man. No, well, if there's a special award, I'll take it. That's pretty dope, especially if it was used after you left.
Starting point is 00:56:33 Oh yeah, they used it the whole run of the show. Interesting, do they still use it on other shows? Well, if anyone is shooting on a pitch in England and needs our help, please contact the show and we'll help you build this rig. Well, did they use it on like game time or whatever that shit was, winning time or? Those guys were on skates.
Starting point is 00:56:51 That wasn't on a football field. Yeah, that one's great. Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words. Skylight frame is more than just a photo frame. What would you do next July? And I said, well, living is a limitless subject matter. Listen to math and magic on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey everyone, it's John, also known as Dr. John Paul. And I'm Jordan, or Joe Ho. And we are the BlackFatFilm Podcast. A podcast where all I'm Jordan or Joe Ho. And we are the Black Fat Film Podcast.
Starting point is 01:01:06 A podcast where all the intersections of identity are celebrated. Oh, chat. This year we have had some of our favorite people on, including Kid Fury, T.S. Madison, Amber Ruffin from the Amber and Lacey Show, Angelica Ross, and more. Make sure you listen to the Black Fat Film Podcast on the iHeart Radio app.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Have a podcast or whatever you get your podcast, girl. Ooh, I know that's right. All right, Brett. So what I want to talk about is, so you shoot season one and you feel good about it. Then when does it start to this was during Covid, right? When did it when did it did it? It wasn't an instant hit. Am I right? No, it was a slow it was a slow. How did it roll out? How did you start to feel that it was catching on?
Starting point is 01:02:00 It was sort of like I've talked about this before, but the thing I think is interesting about Ted Lasser and its success is that I don't think there is anything to be learned from it. As in, I don't think you can, you know how Hollywood always tries to repeat the, well, Ted Lasset works, we should do that. But it's like, I think it's kind of a miracle. Like, as in, it didn't have huge marketing behind it, I don't think. It didn't have, it was on a new stream.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Apple TV was very new. So it wasn't like everyone had it, and it was just everywhere. It was like, you had to make an effort to find it. And it came out, and it just slowly, but it was a genuine word of mouth hit, which is rare. It wasn't, you know, pushed by, it was people made that a hit.
Starting point is 01:02:50 And there's no, nothing you can replicate about that. It just happened to touch people at the right time. And people say, maybe it was because of COVID and maybe the time, the political landscape, all the reasons you can think of, but there are so many other shows that exist at that time. And it's just out of our hat, you know, like we're very, very lucky. I don't know. I think it was a, I looked at it as a huge hit when it started.
Starting point is 01:03:16 I felt like it launched Apple TV kind of also. Like, didn't it help Apple TV all of a sudden become established? It was their biggest hit by far ever still, I think. Yeah. I remember somebody saying you're watching Ted Lasso. I was like, my old boss, he created the show with the... And they were like, well, have you watched it? I was like, I haven't watched it.
Starting point is 01:03:41 I don't watch much TV. And they were like, yo, you should watch it. And then I remember being so stuck on that fucking show. Like I watched every episode from season one to season three. That shit, like it was one of those things. And the great thing was that I knew you also. And it was like, wow, look at fucking Brett dude this dude was fucking flying back to fucking England would Wherever the fuck you were wherever you live you were flying back like you know well, this is it well see you soon And I didn't see you for years He's on Ted lasso and it's a fucking hit and he's good on it too And not only not only is it a sudden he's on Ted Lasso and it's a fucking hit and he's good on it too.
Starting point is 01:04:25 And not only is it a hit, he's fucking good. And then all of a sudden the fucking, things start happening when you're good, things start happening, people start talking when you're good. And it was just so good to see. Well, not only, I felt like it was a hug. Everyone was so down and COVID was so horrible
Starting point is 01:04:43 and it just felt wholesome and it felt like maybe the world would not have been so open to something so wholesome and sentimental if it weren't for those conditions, who knows? But I do feel like the culture around the Earth was ready for what Ted Lasso was serving. Yeah, and there's something, I think, what's funny about Ted Lasso was serving. Yeah. There's something I think, what's funny about Ted Lasso when I think about it is,
Starting point is 01:05:09 that people feel about it like it's a really wholesome show, and that it's kind and it's a warm hug and all these things. What's interesting about it is it's also a show that has so much wearing in it, it's got so much darkness in it, it's got severe mental health problems in it. There's actually, for a show that I think people watch with their families and people talk about it like it's a family show, and I think it is, but what's unusual about it is that I say fuck every other word,
Starting point is 01:05:43 and there's a Cunnilingus scene and there's, you know, the death of... I think people get over that though because of the overall... Because it feels nice. It just feels like Rudy every week, you know? That's nice. I remember crying, you were so good in that scene.
Starting point is 01:06:01 I think it's the end of season one when you're in the locker room and Keely comes in and you're like, don't come in here. I just thought that your performance was so wonderful. And I remember crying and being like, this motherfucker got me. You were very nice. Well, can we say nice things about you instead? No, not yet.
Starting point is 01:06:19 No, no, no, no, Brett. You came on this podcast. We didn't come on you. We're not on your show. You're on ours. This is how it works. Brett, you. You came on this podcast. We're not on your show. You're on ours. This is how it works. Brett, you won the Emmy for season one, did you not? I did.
Starting point is 01:06:30 Yeah, and did you win the Emmy for season two? I did. You Tony Shalhoub that motherfucker? And did you win the Emmy for season three? I did not. Oh, okay. Well, two in a row is pretty damn good. So you didn't Tony Shalhoub. Where'd your camera go, Donald? I'm trying to fix it now, hold on So you didn't, Tony Shalhoub. Where'd your camera go, Donald?
Starting point is 01:06:46 I'm trying to fix it now. Hold on. He's mad about Tony Shalhoub. Two Emmys in a row is a pretty big deal. Especially when you consider all the extreme talent that you're up against. It's quite a statement about you. Three would have been better. What a dick. But I think if you do three, then people start to hate you.
Starting point is 01:07:06 It's probably for the best. Three, they start going, fuck this guy. And then you can't be. Wait, but then you can't be Hercules if you get three. Yeah, exactly. Can you talk about that at all? Wait, before we go to Hercules, before we go to Hercules, let's just finish the Ted Lasso thing out, because I'm sure
Starting point is 01:07:23 I'm pretty confident that I know what you're going to say, because I'm sure, I'm pretty confident that I know what you're gonna say, but I'm sure people listening will wanna know there's rumors of season four. I've heard these rumors. Is anything, is there anything you can say? Will you, can you at least say that you'll be a part of that or is there absolutely nothing you can say?
Starting point is 01:07:42 I can't say anything. I've heard the same rumors you've heard. Okay, I knew that's what you you can say. I can't say anything. I've heard the same rumors you've heard. Okay, I knew that's what you were gonna say. And I read the same press you read. Okay. We live in the same bubble. I knew you were gonna be cryptic, but I had to ask for the fans,
Starting point is 01:07:55 because I'm a good host, Brett. But he's not gonna be cryptic about Hercules. I have a feeling he'll be cryptic about Hercules as well. Brett, for those people who care about Hercules, will you give them some sentences about Hercules? Some people care about that. I have nothing to report. Secret wars. It's important.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Secret wars. I know you've gotten the call from Feige. I know he called you because Hercules is a big, big, big, big, big part of that. What you can say, Brett, is that how good you are at keeping a secret. I read that little, I should say, for those of you who aren't mega Marvel fans, Brett did a credits scene in which Marvel movie? Thor, Love and Thunder. And Thor, Love and Thunder, where he was going to play Hercules.
Starting point is 01:08:39 And so people like Donald, who are very into this, are like, when is Hercules coming? He has to come soon it has to be Secret Wars or before because Thor I mean sorry Hercules is a very big important part of the Secret Wars war. You look like Eddie Murphy in the movie. I'm trying to get real nerdy on you. No what's the Eddie Murphy movie? Yeah you look like both figure right now. You're doing a great job. No, what's the Eddie Murphy movie? Yeah, you look like both figure right now Nothing to report on that case, I'm afraid Well, you can talk about is how you manage to keep that secret from everyone including your mom I read. Oh, yeah, that's true
Starting point is 01:09:20 I Have told that story before but it's funny. Well But not all of our listeners listen to every interview you do, Brad. No, no, no. But I just always want to preface it in case people are like, oh yeah, fucking hell, this again. I know, but one thing you have to learn is that, you know, our audience hasn't necessarily heard every Brad Goldstein interview. Some of them have seen them all. I'm sure Joel has seen them all.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Well, I am furious to discover How did you how did you keep including your mom I'll tell you what happened well because they I tell you how because They make it so scary When when I went to film it when you got I probably can't even say this Oh Man I went to film it when you, God, I probably can't even say this. Oh, they probably, yo man. What, you signed NDAs? Why can't you say that? That's enough, because he signed that NDA, bro. I think everybody knows you signed NDAs.
Starting point is 01:10:12 But what I will say is, the Marvel security certainly make it sound like, if you speak, you will be killed by a sniper that is following you. By Kevin Feige himself. At all times. That would be the worst day ever. Feige just shows up at your house and he's like, you know why I'm here.
Starting point is 01:10:32 And you know what this means. You know I'm a big Zach and Donald fan. There's this new show franchise. Have you seen any of that, Brett? Yes, I saw the first episode. It's great. Donald, I know you don't watch things, but it's about behind the scenes of the making of a superhero movie.
Starting point is 01:10:47 And it's from the perspective of the first AD and all the mayhem that goes on behind the scenes. It's pretty funny. I would like to watch that show. It's called Franchise. It's on HBO Max. Franchise. Oh yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:58 So basically, so I did this Huckley thing thing and I text my mom because sometimes I'll Recommend to my mom and dad films. They don't go a lot to cinema, but there's stuff I know they'll like and I'll go you should see this film is really good and I text my mom and I go I know it's not you normally your sort of thing, but you should go and see Thor Love and Thunder I saw it. It's really funny. I think you'd find it really funny. And she goes, I don't know if that's for us. And I go, No, trust me. I feel like I feel like it is a good one. And she goes, I watched the trailer. I don't think it's so I go, you know, I love films like I wouldn't send you so I didn't think you'd enjoy and they go, she goes, Oh, fine. So they go and see Thor. She's texting me through the film
Starting point is 01:11:46 and she's sort of going, oh, Russell Crowe is funny. And I go, I go, mom, turn off your phone. You're at the cinema. And then she texts me a few more times. This is quite entertaining. I go, yes, well, why are you texting me? Anyway, so I'm in the credits, so it gets to the end. So it's now the end, she texts me,
Starting point is 01:12:03 well, that was fun. Credits and then she goes, Oh, because what happens at the very end Russell Crowe appears and then it pans around and it's me and she goes, Oh, Russell Crowe is back. And I and I'm thinking she's going to fucking miss me. She's looking down at her phone. And I and I type, Look at the fucking screen. And then 30 seconds later, she writes, what? That's amazing. Thank god she didn't miss it. Yeah, I mean, it's like she's going to look down and leave, guys.
Starting point is 01:12:38 I don't really know what you said to that, but it was funny. So now I want to pivot to Shrinking. You created this. Yes, let's talk about your directing, shall we? We can, but I want to talk about this amazing show that I'm... This is horrible. What's horrible? Just you saying nice things, making me uncomfortable. I'm English, it's making me sweat.
Starting point is 01:12:56 Oh, okay. Well, that's something you should work on in therapy, but English people don't go to therapy either, right? Okay, carry on. Carry on. I'm doing my best. So you create this brilliant show, Shrinking, with Bill Lawrence and Jason Segal. How did it come about?
Starting point is 01:13:16 How did that, obviously, at this point, we know Bill loves your writing, we know that he wants to work with Jason. How did Shrinking get born? Shrinking happened because Bill and I were talking a lot and hanging out and he said, I'd like to do something else with you. And he said, is there anything you've been working on?
Starting point is 01:13:36 And I told him, I had this treatment for a show that was about a therapist and about grief, but it was a much darker version of what shrinking ends up being. And then he said, that's interesting. I have a similar thing, but it's a different tone. And his thing was much lighter. And the more we talked about it, it was like, actually, if you put these two together,
Starting point is 01:14:01 the middle ground is shrinking, and that is actually the best version of this show. And so that's sort of what happened. And then we we wanted Jason always because he was just because Jason Segel is the perfect man for it because he is. He has that thing where you just love him. So he can be a bit of a dick. You can write a character that makes mistakes and does bad things. And can push it quite far because you're always gonna love Jason Segel I
Starting point is 01:14:29 think and we got on a zoom with Jason and we pitched him the show and I had a muppets poster his movie behind me because I genuinely had that on my wall Yeah, I genuinely love the muppets and I genuinely love his movie Songs I got met, you genuinely love The Muppets. And I genuinely love his movie. It's a fucking great movie, man. I got married to one of those songs. I got married. You know, I walked down the aisle to... Which one?
Starting point is 01:14:49 Life's a Happy Song. Life's a happy song when there's someone by your side to sing along. Oh, no. Yeah, it's true. I couldn't love you more. Wow. I walked down the aisle to that.
Starting point is 01:15:01 I've got everything that I need. Right in front of me. Nothing's stopping me. Nothing that I can't be with you right here next to me. And it was sung by a gospel choir. Yeah, life's a happy song. The life's a fillet of fish. Yes it is. Yes it is.
Starting point is 01:15:25 There's someone there to bend the hand. Life's a, oh man, I used to listen to that shit like. Have you got a video of that gospel choir doing it? I can't leave anything I'd love more. I bet you I probably do. I bet you if we look, I mean we got to- I was in my backyard and I remember, remember, I was so nervous about my neighbors because there had been some commotion
Starting point is 01:15:47 about me having a 100 person wedding in my backyard. And then the gospel choir showed up and then they had microphones and I was like, Ruh-roh. And then. That's it. It's such a, everything is great. And literally, while they're playing it,
Starting point is 01:16:04 I could tell that the audience was like, what the fuck is this? It was very sweet. It was very romantic. That's so great. All right, so he sees your Muppet poster and go on. Yes. And then we pitched it to him.
Starting point is 01:16:18 And it's funny because we didn't think it had gone great because Jason, he was very lovely, but he just sort of went, he sort of went, okay, thank you. Let me think about it. And we were like, okay. And we hung up thinking, oh, that seemed quite short. And then I think that very day, he called and said, let's do it. And we're like, oh, great. Oh, fantastic. And yeah, and that was it. That was Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words. That was it. Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these fine words.

Starting point is 01:21:07 Make sure you listen to the Black Fat Femme podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Alpha Podcast, or whatever you get your podcast, girl. Ooh, I know that's right. How'd you get Harrison Ford? Yeah. You had a meeting with Harrison Ford? Yeah. What was your, you had a meeting with Harrison Ford. Right. Wasn't he in England and you?
Starting point is 01:21:29 Yeah. So I was in England. I was in England filming Ted Lasso and everyone else was here. And I get a, basically, uh, Harrison Ford's agent has read it. We want him, but we'd never think we're going to get him. Obviously. So it's sort of like a Harrison Ford's agent has read it. We want him but we never think we're gonna get him Obviously, so it's sort of like a Harrison Ford type and then the agent goes this is actually very good sends it to him I Basically he says I think what what's happened is the agent says well
Starting point is 01:21:59 You need to talk to Harrison and bills like but'm not, Harrison's in London making Indiana Jones. And Bill says, well, Brett's in London, he can meet Harrison. I get a missed call on my phone, I still have the voicemail, and the voicemail goes, hey, Brett, it's Harrison Ford. And I'm like, holy shit. And I'm like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 01:22:21 And he goes, give me a call, and I'm like, fuck. And I'm thinking, if I wait five minutes, I'm going to freak myself out and not call. So I just immediately call him. Hi, Harrison. And I say, how's it going? He goes, yeah, I'm at work. And I say, what are you working on?
Starting point is 01:22:36 He goes, are you heard of Indiana Jones? I'm like, yeah, yeah, I've heard of it. And he says, he says, Can you meet on Saturday for dinner? And I had a gig on Saturday, a stand up gig booked. And I said, I'm really sorry, I can't I have a gig. And he goes, Oh, and he seems quite shocked. And we sort of, he says, Oh, well, let me go back to you. And he hangs up and I call Bill and I go well he wanted to meet on Saturday but I've got a gig and Bill goes you fucking idiot cancel the gig. It's Harrison Ford. It's Harrison Ford you have to cancel the gig. I was like but people have bought tickets like 12 people have bought tickets on this gig.
Starting point is 01:23:20 And so I text Harrison, I go, is there any chance you're free on Friday after work? I could come meet you. And he says, come to my house. Come to my place at like 6.45 to 7.30 or something. So I was like, oh, I've been downgraded. He must maybe not, he maybe is upset. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:23:42 I've been downgraded to a short window, you know what I mean? So everyone, Jeff, Bill, everyone, Jason, like don't fuck this up. Make sure this goes well. It's like so much pressure. So I drive to Harrison Falls place, get a lift, and I get out of the car, I'm really nervous. I was like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 01:23:59 I don't know what to expect. And I ring the doorbell and fucking, you know, Han Solo answers the door. Like he, Harrison Ford answers the door and he looks amazing. He says, hey, and he shakes my hand and I go in and he sort of walks up these stairs and I follow him up the stairs. He hasn't really said anything yet. And then we walk into his apartment and he goes, best script I've ever read. And I go, what? And he goes, best scripts I've ever read. And I go, what?
Starting point is 01:24:27 And he goes, best scripts I've ever read. And I see on his table, he's got loads of scripts. He's obviously reading lots of things. So I'm like, oh, you poor, I feel bad for it. I'm like, you've got the wrong, obviously you mean something else. And so I look at the scripts and I see the shrinking scripts and I go, I go shrinking.
Starting point is 01:24:44 And he goes, yeah, best dialogue I've ever read. And I went, Oh, and I said, Do you want to do it then? And he went, Yeah. And I went, Okay, then. And he said, Is that business done? And I said, Looks like it. And he said, Let's eat. And then we had a whole, the whole evening, just brilliant and he was so wonderful and so like, he really got it. And also, you know, it was like, I don't think I've ever told this before. I hope he doesn't mind me saying this
Starting point is 01:25:17 because it's sort of heartbreaking and like so lovely is he was dressed a certain way. And he said, how do you see the character sort of dressing and I said well honestly sort of like this like what you're wearing he went yeah that's why I dressed like this He was auditioning for you. He went and put on an outfit. He was like you know what I'm gonna nail this I'm gonna get this, I'm gonna get this. They probably don't think I'm good at this.
Starting point is 01:25:47 I'm gonna go fucking get this. I'm gonna get this. And he really is, you know, you've worked with him. He is what he says he is and what you read about. Like, if you read Mike Nichols' biography, which is amazing, when he talks about working with Harrison Ford, Harrison Ford is like, I'm here to service the story. I am an actor in this film. I'm not the star. I'm here to show me the...
Starting point is 01:26:11 Use me in the best way to tell this story. And he is like that. This is an ensemble show. And as incredible as he is, and he's fucking incredible, he is part of the ensemble. And he... You know, Zach, I find it so like moving, like he loves it. And I also go like, I get why he wanted to do it because he's fucking funny and vulnerable.
Starting point is 01:26:37 He gets to do so much in this part that he hasn't been able to show, I think. And I think, and this is really not me being like, oh, we write such great scripts. What I mean is like, I think it's an opportunity for him that he has really embraced because he hasn't, he's wanted to do this. He's wanted to show all these sides of himself that he gets to show in this part. And I think people are always like, God, he's so funny. He's so funny in it. And he is so funny, but he's also so vulnerable in it in a way that I don't think we've ever seen before.
Starting point is 01:27:07 And he's just amazing. You know what I mean? I agree with- He's been the tough guy in so many freaking projects and to see him cry and to see him not only cry, but freaking uncontrollably cry. Like I can't fucking take this. It's really, really, as a fan of his,
Starting point is 01:27:26 as somebody who's watched him pretty much since I was three years old, it really is refreshing. I've seen every form, every form of him and to see him like this, I've never seen him like this. And that's saying something because he's been in everything. And he's never been this. I think he really loves being funny.
Starting point is 01:27:47 I see that he's loving making everyone laugh. And he said to me that it's one of his favorite jobs. He just loves the environment of the set. And he's always generous to the writers and he'll always, after a scene is shot, he'll come over and thank the writers. And like, he's really good. And he's also a generous actor.
Starting point is 01:28:16 Like he, cause I think he knows, he knows people are intimidated that they're working with him. People are very excited to work with him. They're also very nervous. Like, fuck, I've got, particularly if they've got they're working with him. People are very excited to work with him, they're also very nervous, like, fuck, I've got... particularly if they've got just one scene with him. And he'll do something to put them at ease, and he'll say, like, this is going to be great,
Starting point is 01:28:32 or, you know, it's just a little gesture to show to them, I'm here with you, we're doing this together, I'm not... The biggest obstacle is for the other people, including myself, to get over it. The fact that you're sitting with the president. Yeah, you have to sort of- That you're sitting with Han Solo. It's your own shit you gotta do because-
Starting point is 01:28:49 That you're sitting with Indiana Jones. Yeah, all of that shit. It's your own shit, because if you bring that to the table, you're never gonna be able to be good, whether you're an actor or a writer or a director. You have to sort of, well, I can only speak for myself, give yourself a little pep talk, like get rid of all that bullshit.
Starting point is 01:29:05 He's a regular, he's an actor, just like everyone else is an actor. And, you know. Yep. I think that had to make you look good too. Elizabeth Banks said it also, you know. She, you know, everybody, when you're working, everybody wants the scene to be good.
Starting point is 01:29:19 Everybody wants what, you know, we all signed on to do something because we believed in it and we want it to work, you know, we all signed on to do something because we believed in it and we want it to work. You know what I mean? And there's no difference between him and anyone else in that situation. He wants this to be just as good as you want it to be. He wants you to be as good as you want to be.
Starting point is 01:29:36 And so, you know, yeah, it is a hard thing for you, but it takes a really good actor one and a master of the craft to put you at ease and relax you so that you can be the best version of yourself in that scene. I'd say the first time I ever met him, he said, let's go on a ride. I think I've told this on the podcast, but in case I don't tell Brett, he said, let's go on a ride in my golf cart. So I've been with him for 30 seconds
Starting point is 01:30:08 and he's taking me on a ride. Indiana Jones is driving me around the Warner Brothers back lot on his golf cart. And there's these little trams that go by for the tours on Warner Brothers. It's not as big as Universal, but they have a lot of these little tour buses that are constantly going around.
Starting point is 01:30:26 And one is approaching us. And I noticed that he just so suddenly just looks away for his privacy. And I say to him, do you ever turn and wave to the tours? And he goes, no, I look away. But I do feel bad about it. You know how he would freaking, they would jump off the tour bus. I mean, that's, there's no, well also, it doesn doesn't have like the button to press to make it go super fast. Also, if you work on the Warner Brothers lot, they go by every 10 seconds. So it wouldn't be a very fun environment for him to be working.
Starting point is 01:31:12 It would... Oh my gosh. Um, alright, so Shrinking is a hit, and uh, so then you decide, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna once again say that I should play a pivotal role in this show what's a great well too it was actually Jason that said this no I'm just doing a bit I'm just trying to make fun of you for writing yourself another oh I see sorry sorry do it again let me get it let me get a take to get a take that's fucked up dude I was I was a long foot a ride too. I'm uncomfortable now.
Starting point is 01:31:47 Hold on. Do the bit. I'm doing a bit. Ready? I'll do a better. So then you decide that... Take three. What am I meant to do?
Starting point is 01:31:55 Am I meant to be like... Oh, no. Zach, it's not like that. Like you're like embarrassed and defensive. Okay. I feel that anyway. Okay. So then, because it worked the first time, you decide that as a writer you should write yourself one of the leads I guess
Starting point is 01:32:29 All right, we don't want to spoil it for the audience for what you play, but you now are really, you're acting on this season of Shrinking is Spectacular. I got to direct you, I think, in your very first. He's definitely playing Hercules. Did you see his arm when he put his hands up? Did you see his fucking arm? That's that Hercules shit. That's Hercules! I told y'all motherfuckers we were gonna get something for you. You got something. I'm really not.
Starting point is 01:32:52 He's always been pretty ripped. I don't think it's Hercules. All right, go ahead. Zach, so I play a very serious part in this show. It is not a funny part. There are no jokes for me. And my very first day filming on this show was with Zach Braff directing. And he was brilliant. And I really, really, really genuinely appreciate him and it because it's scary.
Starting point is 01:33:21 Your first day filming is scary. You have an idea in your head how you're gonna do it, but you don't know if that's gonna be, especially with Bill, Bill's taking a big gamble on me playing this part, and I wanted him, he wasn't sure about it, and I wanted him to feel good day one, and not get in a panic, like, oh shit, I don't know if this is gonna work,
Starting point is 01:33:40 you know what I mean? And Zach was so, it was a very serious scene, and Zach was so, it was a very serious scene. And Zach was so brilliant on sex. He really created the vibe of like a safe space, you know what I mean? Like everyone's kind of kept everything kind of contained. It's like, let's very quietly try this thing. And then we're going to quietly be over here. And between takes kept it all sort of low key. And it was really great. And I think Bill came to visit and and we'd done a thing, and he looked, and he was like, okay, great.
Starting point is 01:34:08 And it was such a sort of relief, because then it was like, okay, we're fine. There was no sort of panic of, is this gonna, is this right, does this feel right? Was some of that pressure, I wonder, just as an actor, because you become, you know, in an unnatural, unusual way, globally famous as this very specific character. Were you worried or concerned or anxious about like,
Starting point is 01:34:32 hey, I also want to show everyone I'm not just Roy Kent, and this is my first big chance to do that. Was that on your mind? It's sort of, I mean, as in, you always want to not be boxed in and be able to do other things, but that is out of my, that's the same as making Tether, the same as any of it. All you can do is try and enjoy the making of the thing because beyond that it's out
Starting point is 01:35:00 of your control. Like, as in, I don't, if people don't like it, or they don't go for it, or they, whatever, there's nothing I can do about that. All I can do is do the thing. Make the thing. So I don't know that, I think in my anxiety, waste of time thoughts, that would take up some space, but when you're actually working, no.
Starting point is 01:35:23 I just think you're- I thought you were spectacular, and- Thank you when you're actually working. Yeah. No, I'm just thinking. I thought you were spectacular and I'm really... I really loved working with you. Thank you. I... It's a pleasure to work. I'd like to do a drama with you. I think you're very...
Starting point is 01:35:33 I mean, you're very good at comedy, but it was really nice doing drama scenes with you. You're very sensitive. He's a better director than he is an actor. And I think he's... Whoa, what the fuck is that? Jesus Christ. And I think he's a pretty good actor,
Starting point is 01:35:44 but he's a better director than he is. Wow. I don't know how I feel about that. I don't know how I feel about that. There's a compliment in there, but there's also a diss and they're co-mingling. I don't know how to feel. It's all love. I said, I think you're a very good, pretty good actor.
Starting point is 01:36:00 He said pretty good. Pretty good. I said very good. Let me rephrase that. Pretty good. Well, because they could go back to the tape and be like, no, nigga, you said pretty good. Pretty good. I said, very good. Let me rephrase that, pretty good. Well, cause they could go back to the tape and be like, no, nigga, you said pretty good. So I said, pretty good. But I said, pretty good.
Starting point is 01:36:12 But I also think that as a director, you know, you're one of my favorite directors. Oh, thank you. I love directing and thank you from both of you. Now, Brett, my next question for you, I know we gotta wrap up soon, but I wanted to ask you, how is this? Yeah, but to get back to writing season three.
Starting point is 01:36:30 Yeah, season three of Shrinking, everybody's being written. Holy fucking shit, dude. Being written by Brett as we speak. Just, did they give you four yet? Didn't they give you, did they give you four? No, they just picked up three, I believe. And they're gonna pick up, I hope they pick up four. So Brett, you have a lot going on,
Starting point is 01:36:44 I just wanna get through all the, Brett also tours have a lot going on. I just want to get through all the... Brett also tours as a stand-up comedian. You can see. And how do people find out if you're coming to their city, Brett? Well, I just... Well, I just finished... I sort of officially finished the tour, but I will be doing some more dates. So keep an eye on BrettGoldsteinTour.com, I suppose.

Starting point is 01:37:43 I'm just gonna put it out there, she's also single. She's also single, Brett. What are your thoughts on that? You need to behave on set. There's a behavior thing on set, but once you guys are not on set, you can make shit happen, bro. Do you have it in your mind when you heard that JLo got single? Okay, we gotta wrap this up.

What a great guest. What an amazing guest. He does not want to talk about his love of JLo though. He doesn't want to talk about anything really. We had to freaking pry so much out of him. Well, no, he did a good job.
Starting point is 01:43:36 He's very, very private with his life. He won't, you know, you and I talk very openly about a lot of stuff. He didn't want to talk about Marvel. He didn't want to talk about Marvel. He didn't want to talk about Ted Lasso. He's got NDAs all around. The man is papered in NDAs. He can't talk about a lot of stuff. He says that they're scary.
Starting point is 01:43:55 I want to be scared by freaking Disney. Feige, you could come to my house and say, you better not tell nobody about this because you're in it. So Hollywood, Donald wishes he had more NDAs. I wish I had a Star Wars NDA. I wish I had a fucking Marvel NDA and a DC NDA. I wish I had a fucking, what else is there? What else is there? I wish I had a Dune NDA.
Starting point is 01:44:24 Well, we got a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA.
Starting point is 01:44:31 I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA.
Starting point is 01:44:37 I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA.
Starting point is 01:44:44 I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDA. I wish I had a Dune NDAs in that dude yo. Florence Pugh has a lot of NDAs. In fact that's all I'm taking back. I take it back. Flo got a lot of NDAs also. Flo might win most NDAs. Yeah she wins the most NDAs. Easily. And she jumps from Marvel to Dune. Yeah. What else do we want to say? What a great cast. What a nice man. What a nice man. And we can say that genuinely because we know him. Yeah, he is that sweet in real life, everybody. He's such a gentleman and he's very kind and he's very soft spoken. Until he's not. Until you don't cross the motherfucker. But I'm joking. He's a great dude.
Starting point is 01:45:20 I was like, you got a good story? No, no, he's a great dude. All right. Well, Joelle, any final thoughts as our producer princess? Oh, man, what a guy that Brett was. A sweetie. Y'all were super funny. Everyone get a full body scan, I guess. That's the new wave.
Starting point is 01:45:37 Yeah, get a full body scan. I really wanted to ask him if he would watch Donald's OnlyFans. We never went around to that. Oh, that would have been a good question. He would have totally watched it. But I'm excited to have this fan come on the show and talk about what he or she, by the way, he or she, I don't know why I'm assuming it's a man.
Starting point is 01:45:59 I would like... We did specifically ask the gays, but women also, if you would watch them. Yeah, by the way, I want to just reiterate, this isn't open to just the gays, but women also, if you would watch them. Yeah, by the way, I want to just reiterate this isn't open to just the gays. It could be a woman too. I think it's actually more interesting if it's a woman talking about what she'd like to see Donald do. But either way, I'm down. I think it could be a running series if it goes well.
Starting point is 01:46:20 We can call it Dicks Your Life. I will fucking get an OnlyFans and make it happen if it means I get subscribers that'll pay that money. I would like to make it an ongoing series where And we could be a reality show. each week someone says what they'd like Donald to do on his supposed OnlyFans. Oh my.
Starting point is 01:46:41 Oh, I don't get a real OnlyFans? You can. Nah, I don't wanna do that. You can do whatever you want. I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't wanna a real only fans you can Be honest with you, I don't want to do that I was trying to be funny I don't want to get an only fans, but I would love to hear what people would want me to do Oh, yeah, I would like and I just in case well make sure that you you keep track of all the submissions Oh, I'll be right. I want to hear the freaky shit. I don't want somebody to be like, I just wanna see his toes. Yeah, please don't, please don't. This is a toes are freaky.
Starting point is 01:47:08 Oh God, okay. Toes are freaky, some people like that shit, but I don't wanna just hear, oh I wanna see his toes. I think that's gonna get you on the show. That's not gonna do it. Please don't come on with something basic. We wanna feel uncomfortable.
Starting point is 01:47:24 Okay. A challenge. I had a gay friend telling me where we're opening. Let's see if we can freaking test iHeart's standards. Oh no. I had a gay friend telling me stuff I didn't know about being a homosexual recently. Wait, what happened? Like what? A gay friend of mine was telling me that certain cities are known for being more bottom heavy than top heavy.
Starting point is 01:47:54 He said, for example, I think he said that West Hollywood is very bottom heavy. I think it's bottom heavy. That's bottom heavy for sure. That's the energy over there for sure. Yeah, bottom heavy. No, I was like sure. That's the energy over there for sure. Yeah, bottom heavy. I was like, no, chill. I was close on that.
Starting point is 01:48:07 Sure is. West Hollywood is totally, that shit is bottom. That shit is bottomed out. Yeah. Well, I just didn't know that was a thing. He was really educating me on things. He said there's a lot of tops in New York. That makes sense too. He said there's a lot of tops in New York. He said bottoms in New York have to really compete because there's more tops.
Starting point is 01:48:33 This is what he told me. Oh shit, a lot of squats. I want your friend to come on the show to educate all of us.
