Level up your business with FedEx, the new Power Move.
I think Terry McCloren this offseason,
has been a player that you want to trade for as like a mercenary and dynasty or a best ball
sort of a post-type sleeper type back in February. Blau goes, this thing is going to be built
around how do we get Terry 10 targets a game? And my mind exploded. I'm like, oh my gosh,
this is it. He's speaking to us. David Blau cares about my fantasy teams. You can just see it.
Terry McCloran, post-type sleeper, wheels up, let's go. And maybe Washington says, we've got
to get younger here. That won't be good for Terry McLaren. If Terry McLaren
suddenly has to compete with a 21-year-old Carnell Tate or a Mackay Lemon, Jordan
Tyson for targets, it caps his ceiling outcome. There's players that Washington could take
at seven overall that could take over the hierarchy at wide receiver. That would not be good
for business for Terry McLaren.
That's him. That's the old cheat. Veteran players who are set to gain or lose
a ton of fantasy value on draft weekend.
I'm Theo Graminger.
Welcome to Fantasy Football Daily.
Landmines.
Landmines happen every single year in the NFL draft.
A player is selected and the focus goes to the rookie.
As it should, it's the biggest day in these players' lives for many of them,
where they're selected by an NFL team,
you suddenly have clarity of which team you're going to play for,
essentially where you're going to work.
and it's nothing but positive vibes for all of these players.
It's a fresh, clean slate and opportunity to affect a franchise.
But like with anything in life, when one door opens for someone, another door closes for another.
And that's amplified more so in the NFL than pretty much anywhere else.
Every time somebody gains a roster spot, somebody else gets pushed out and loses it.
And in fantasy football, it happens all the time.
time. I mean, it happens all the time. Take a look at some of your fantasy rosters from three years ago.
Where are these guys now? A lot of them are out of the league. A lot of them have lost a ton of
value. A lot of them have gone from being a player maybe you're leaning on to start in your lineup
to maybe I'm interested in the final rounds and drafting these guys. Things change in the NFL
rapidly. There's landmines every single year. A player gets drafted and another player on the
roster, all of a sudden their fantasy value shifts dramatically. Flashback. Let's go back in time.
Time machine. April 21st, 2021. Talking about James Robinson. If you had James Robinson as a rookie,
it was one of the greatest feelings ever. If you had them on your dynasty roster, you had an
undrafted rookie free agent running back that maybe you threw a dart at late in your rookie
draft. Maybe you were in a deep dynasty format and you took them in,
Round five, round six, because you like the runway.
You thought maybe this guy could win the handcuffed job behind Leonard Fournet in Jacksonville.
Then flash forward a couple of months.
James Robinson just starts killing it.
Rookie OTAs in training camp, he's red hot.
It's a red hot name.
James Robinson's performing.
And all of a sudden, Leonard Fournett is shown the door.
Former first round pick, LSU star, top 10 pick in the NFL draft.
shown the door, ends up signing with Tampa Bay and has a huge season.
But James Robinson goes on to finish as the RB5 overall, average 17.9 points per game.
Fantasy managers who drafted him that year late, you had maybe the best late round pick you could have made.
That year was a fun one.
There was a couple of players who hit nicely late.
But waiver wire wise, James Robinson was the waiver wire pickup of the year for many, many fantasy managers out there.
who picked him up super, super late, or you drafted him late.
Anywhere you cut it, James Robinson as a redraft asset, huge.
As a dynasty asset, maybe even bigger because of the ramifications of him doing it as a rookie.
Average 17.9 points per game as a rookie.
Running back five overall, like a ridiculous season.
Then the Jaguars go and hire Urban Meyer.
They have the number one pick of the draft, and they're set to draft
Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson,
who was the biggest name out there,
the savior, the Andrew Luck for them at the time.
And flash forward to the draft.
You were talking April 21.
Trevor Lawrence gets drafted first overall,
and you're chilling.
You're saying, I have James Robinson.
James Robinson is going to enjoy this boost.
We suddenly are solid as an organization.
We've got this quarterback in Trevor Lawrence.
It's wheels up.
You're two James Robinson.
is going to be amazing.
Fast forward a little bit.
You start getting to pick number 25.
This was from the Jalen Ramsey trade.
Anybody who remembers this one?
Jalen Ramsey gets traded.
25th overall pick.
You're watching.
You have some fleeting interest in this pick.
Of course, if you have James Robinson,
you're looking at players around him,
the organization, all that.
And they select Travis E.N.
And it's just disaster.
You have this undrafted rookie running back
who was scoring.
and they said, it's good.
You know, we'll take this Travis E.TN guy, and we'll go with that.
And then you find out later it was because they couldn't get Cadarius Tony and they're like,
okay, we'll get Travis E.TN.
Just disaster strikes for James Robinson fantasy managers.
Flash forward, go a couple years later, okay?
And with undrafted free agents, people are going to say, hey, Theo, you never should have been
comfortable with James Robinson.
He was an undrafted free agent.
How about second round picks?
flash forward a little bit over two years later April 28th, 2023.
Okay. Kenneth Walker coming off of a really, really good rookie season.
Rushed for over 1,000 yards, nine touchdown scores, and was the second half of the season hammer.
He had six 100-yard rushing performances from week five on.
Kenneth Walker in Dynasty was through the roof value-wise.
and in redraft was looking like he was headed to be a one-two-turn selection heading into year two.
So like a top 15 pick in redraft and a massive dynasty value.
I used to work for another website, another fantasy football website, and at one point,
we had Kenneth Walker ranked as the RB1 overall.
It was a very short time period, but it was a few weeks where he was the running back one overall in dynasty.
That's where he was headed.
Then all of a sudden, you get to round two of the NFL draft.
And the Seattle goes up and makes their selection.
And all of a sudden, they say the name Zach Charbonnet.
So you have a gut punch, a gut punch felt across fantasy football.
Kenneth Walker managers that night, unless you had him rostered,
you couldn't even describe it.
It was like unbelievable that Seattle went out and did this.
Pete Carroll, high-fiving in the war room.
We got Charbonnet.
We got two running backs.
You got two running backs, Pete.
That's cool for you franchise-wise,
but for fantasy football, an absolute gut punch.
Kenneth Walker managers were like coping.
It was a ton of coping, saying, we'll be okay.
They got themselves a really good backup.
That's okay.
No, wrong.
And anybody who's rostered Kenneth Walker over the last couple years,
including last year, the pain was there for a long time.
He finally escaped this situation.
this off season by signing with Kansas City.
But Zach Charbonnet scored 12 touchdowns this year,
scored eight two years ago.
So 20 touchdowns over the last two years for Zach Charbonnet.
That is a day that will live in infamy
and just kind of show you that no one's safe.
No one is safe in these streets.
The NFL tells the truth only a few times a year.
They tell the truth with free agency because that's money.
They're spending money on a player.
they're saying, I like this guy, or I'm going to let him walk.
That's money.
They tell truth with money.
And they tell truth during the NFL draft.
You can say whatever you want about a guy.
You can go out there and have a press conference and say,
you know, our offense is going to revolve around this player.
We're so excited about this player.
I'm so excited to coach this guy.
And then all of a sudden, they draft a player who plays the exact same position.
It happens every single year.
There's also players that can get traded.
and open up new possibilities.
A lot of movement happens on draft night.
Go back a couple years ago,
Jemir Gibbs gets selected by Detroit.
D'Andre Swift was on the roster.
Just unbelievable gut punch for D'Andre Swift managers.
Then he gets traded to Philly,
and it's like hope again.
So there's movement.
Every single player is a potential landmine.
I mean, not all, every player.
We'll be serious.
There's some stud players out there.
Doesn't matter what happens.
Cincinnati goes and drafts a wide receiver, you don't care.
If you're Jamar Chase, you don't care.
If you're T. Higgins, you really don't care.
There's a lot of franchises where these players who are at the top of the food chain,
these guys, there's nothing to worry about.
You have them roster in your dynasty roster,
or you selected them on underdog or FFPC early best balls.
You're fine.
You're not worrying about it.
You're chilling.
But for a lot of you out there,
you're holding assets that could gain or lose.
lose value a really, really a ton on draft night. It happens every year and it's going to happen this
year in 2026 and people can say this is a bad draft class. It's a bad draft class compared to some
years, but there's still going to be a lot of players who are going to affect fantasy football.
And it's not just Jeremiah Love. There's a ton of these guys out there. Let's take a look at some
of the veterans that you need to pay attention to that could gain or lose exceptional value.
on draft night. And we'll start out with a running back. And we'll start out with a day three
running back from last year. We'll start out with Cam Scadaboo. Cam Scadaboo selected in the fourth round
last year. And for about half of the season, he looked like the biggest fantasy value among all
rookies. Led all rookie running backs with 16 points per game, including a 31.3 touchdown
smash performance in that win over the Philadelphia Eagles. And you remember this game, Monday night
football. Cam Scataboo going absolutely insane. It might have been Thursday night. It was prime time game.
Cam Scataboo goes nuts. The Giants going to win over the Philadelphia Eagles. It is Cam Scadaboo mania.
And Malik Neighbors was done for the season. And the offensive focal point for the Philadelphia Eagles was Cam Scadaboo.
Turning into like a folk hero like status. Like people were just head over heels for Cam Scadaboo. Then ankle dislocated.
ended the season.
A huge loss for fantasy managers, huge loss for Giants fans.
And Cam Scadaboo, season ends.
Cam Scadaboo, the vibes have been really good this offseason in terms of the injury recovery.
He's already jogging.
Cam Scatabu is attending events in New York.
Guys going to Knicks games.
Guys going to WWE.
Cam Scadabu, big name.
If you live in New York like I do, there's a lot of coverage on these guys.
Cam Scadaboo very much on the radar.
Then you get the Harbaugh signing.
So the Giants are saying we're for real.
We're going to sign a head coach who was a former Super Bowl winner.
And if you're Cam Scadaboo manager in Dynasty
or if you've been drafted him on underdog and best ball,
you're like, okay, here we go.
We're going to have a good team.
Malik neighbors, he's not going to start the year,
but we'll get Malik neighbors back,
you know, maybe a month into the season, start out on the pup.
And Cam Scadaboo, runway is clear.
Bestball managers have been taking him right there in that mid to low RB2 range.
He's in the old school debt.
We used to call it the dead zone.
Now it's a bunch of year two backs and Cam Scadaboo right there, right there.
But there's a big problem for Cam Scadaboo managers, and it's Jeremiah Love.
And if Jeremiah Love is on the clock at five overall, are they going to end up taking a Caleb Downs, a sunny styles?
is there a scenario where they say, just forget it.
We're taking Jeremiah Love if he's there.
And a Jeremiah Love selection for the Giants,
don't kid yourself.
This would completely nuke Cam Skadaboo.
He would end up becoming a fun handcuff.
And there'll be people in the chat saying he's more than that.
This would be a player that would be a problem for Jeremiah Love.
No, he wouldn't.
Jeremiah Love is going to be the offensive.
focal point for any of these teams that take them inside the top 10, including the New York
Giants was Camp Scataboo. If Cam Scatabu survives one single name on draft night, then wheels are
up for Cam Scadabu to return value this year. Tyrone Tracy, good player. Tyrone Tracy could end up
being a headache for Scatabu, but Scatabu is still the back to roster in New York. If he's healthy,
he would end up leading the backfield as long as New York doesn't select Jeremiah Love. This
might be the biggest landmine of anybody I'm going to talk about tonight. You can almost see the
ADP. The ADP for if you think of Camp Scadaboo was a stock. If Cam Scadabu avoids Jeremiah Love, then you can go
to underdog on Sunday, on Monday, on Tuesday, and you're going to see that ADP. It's going to
trick up and up and up. And then you see if Jeremiah Love is selected, it is going to shoot down.
it's going to be Black Monday for Cam Scataboo investors.
It is going to be the ugliest thing you've ever seen.
The ADP is going to go from like running back 22 to running back 42 before you can blink.
Cam Scadaboo, one of the biggest landmines.
Big shout out to Naples, Florida.
Took my family there last week.
I had a couple of shows pre-recorded, dropped on the channel.
But missed a few.
Missed a few schools of Scott.
Make sure you check out School of Scott.
He had Danny Kelly on.
Show was really, really a fun one.
I'm going to be recording with Scott this week.
We're going to do a rookie mock draft.
That's going to be a lot of fun.

Talked about Cam Scadaboo.
The other name to obviously talk about is Tony Pollard, right ahead of them.
And Pollard, unlike Scataboo, is sort of being forgotten right now,
29 years old, facing down the barrel of father time.
But Pollard's been consistent.
And Tony Pollard, a little bit disrespected right now with his best ball ADP price tag of running back 36.
Running back 36 on Underdog, it's sort of like the best ball drafter is so scared of Jeremiah Love
that they want no part of Tony Pollard.
but Tony Pollard has rushed for a thousand yards or more in four straight seasons.
And with Cam Ward set to enter year two and with Brian Dable taking over this offense,
there's a chance that Tony Pollard could be a really, really fun fantasy asset,
especially when you consider this price tag.
Now, again, we're not talking Cam Scataboo.
It's a much cheaper bet.
But Tony Pollard, again, would get annihilated if Jeremiah Love is the selection of 10
Tennessee at four. And I think Tennessee is going to take Jeremiah Love at four. I've gotten back and
forth with Brett Whitefield on this one. We've talked about what Tennessee could do here. He's brought
up other teams selecting love, but it just sort of feels like it. It's like Tennessee, Tennessee could
go wide receiver. That certainly would make some sense, considering they haven't had a strong
wide receiver one finisher in fantasy football since AJ Brown. And they traded him so many years ago at
this point. But getting a offensive focal point to take the pressure off of Cam Ward and to get
Brian Dable's offense started here, it seems to make some sense. Build your team around Love at
running back, Ward at quarterback, and figure everything else out. They signed Wondell Robinson. There's
some positives where this offense could take off. And if you avoid Jeremiah Love,
Tony Pollard could also be a beneficiary.
Not saying Tony Pollard is a player that is going to destroy his ADP,
but Pollard could end up being a low-end RB2 at an RB36 price tag.
He simply needs to avoid Jeremiah Love.
Like so many need to avoid Jeremiah Love.
Those two are not the only players that need to avoid Jeremiah Love.
There's also the Jacori-Croski-Marit, Rashad White combination in Washington,
and the Tyler, Algier, James Connor combination in Arizona.
These backfields are not as clear.
It's either a running back by committee or a running back competition.
And if you've taken shots on Jacori Kroski Merritt this year in best ball or in dynasty,
Rashad White, if you're holding hope that Rashad White could be this year's Kenneth Gainwell,
or you're holding out hope that Tyler Algier could be this year's Rico Dowdell,
there's hope in like the whole thesis that you've made with these players.
And there's hope in these backfields.
Maybe you're still a James Connor truther.
And you think the James Connor is ageless.
He's going to come back.
He'll lead the back.
I mean, there's arguments for all these guys.
And that's neither here nor there.
But the point being, it's not just scataboo.
It's not just Pollard.
It's also Washington.
It's also Arizona.
It feels like these are the,
the landing spots that Jeremiah Love most likely lands in.
Now, could a surprise mystery team trade up?
Absolutely.
I think Arizona would love to trade down.
I think Tennessee would love to trade down.
And I think the Giants would be open to trading down a few spots.
So maybe some team says,
we're going to go ahead and get Jeremiah Love.
And we're talking about another running back getting completely nuked.
But the point being is, wherever Jeremiah Love lands,
someone is getting nuked.
They were getting destroyed.
And Jeremiah Love could be an 18, 19, 20 point per game type as a rookie.
He's that good.
And when you invest a top 10 pick on a running back,
unless you have a sicko like an Arthur Smith,
or you have a bad situation like the Vegas offensive line last year
and sort of a hapless coaching staff with Pete Carroll sort of on the way out,
you're going to get a maximum season out of love.
Historically, top 10 running backs have hit in a major, major way.
You say Ashton Genti, and I'll say, what about Sequin Barclay and Ezekiel Elliott?
That's the kind of rookie season Jeremiah Love could have.
He is an unbelievable talent.
We'll keep an eye on a number of other running back situations and we'll talk about a few others.
But first, let's talk about Jalen Hertz.
Jalen Hertz.
Why am I talking about Jalen Hertz during the Landmines show?
Because Jalen Hertz, and this is nothing to do with some ESPN article where Jalen Hertz kind of gets thrown under the bus and a bunch of negativity came out there.
I didn't cover that on Fantasy Football Daily.
A lot of that stuff I think is kind of nonsense and it's a lightning rod.
If you learn to sort of sift through the tea leaves of the offseason, you know that there's going to be sort of hit piece.
articles on anything Dallas, anything Philly, anything New York related.
There's always, and there's a couple other NFL teams like this that they're just lightning
rods for articles like this.
But this was a negative, negative piece.
And you've got that sort of negativity hanging out with Philly right now.
Another offensive coordinator change.
You've got Nick Siriani.
How many more years is the Nick Siriani show going on here?
Guys sort of Teflon at this point.
But some negativity.
with Philly. And with Hertz, there's been people saying,
Sellam in Dynasty, that we've seen the top. It's going to start trending downwards with him.
He's been so good, though, fantasy-wise. Jalen Hertz, even if there's a little bit of regression,
he's been just so good. 63 rushing touchdowns, that's third all-time at the quarterback position.
He's not going to catch Josh Allen, but he can catch Cam Newton and be number two all-time.
I mean, that's an unbelievable accomplishment.
We know the Super Bowl just two seasons ago for Jalen Hertz.
But why are we talking about him?
Jalen Hertz is in no danger of losing his starting job.
He's locked in.
And even if he's sliding a little bit,
he's still a locked in QB1 in single QB formats like Underdog.
And if you have him in Superflex,
you're still excited to have him on your roster.
But at the end of the day,
he's got a big major hurdle to overcome.
during the NFL draft and really it could linger past the NFL draft.
And that's A.J. Brown.
There's no positive here with A.J. Brown leaving Philly for Jalen Hertz.
And some people push back in the comments and they'll say, you know, Theo, you don't know the
situation.
You don't know the behind the scene stuff.
You don't know team cohesion.
And I'll never truly know.
I think a lot of it is speculation at this point.
I'm sure if A.J. Brown has moved that we are.
going to learn a lot.
But there's no positivity for losing a player of AJ Brown's level from Jalen Hertz and telling
me that it's going to be a better fantasy situation for him because of it.
And even if Philly manages to add a player like Jordan Tyson in the first round,
let's say they trade up and get Jordan Tyson and they sort of reshuffle the decks.
I think Jordan Tyson is really, really good.
But there's still the learning curve.
there's still this sort of changing the guard there.
And certainly Devanta Smith is an absolute stud.
Dallas Goddard last year had double-digit touchdown grabs
and you still have Sequin Barclay.
But the offense to me is not going to be as dangerous
if they move on from A.J. Brown and it feels like they're going to move on from A.J. Brown.
So Jalen Hertz is one where he could absolutely lose some value on draft night.
All right. So we talked about Jalen Hertz.
Let's talk about DeVantah Smith and A.J. Brown.
This is actually the fun one.
These are players that can actually gain a ton of value.
And if nothing happens and A.J. Brown is not traded, then they're pretty much what they are.
The marketplace has valued A.J. Brown and Devontas Smith sort of for what they are.
Like, go to underdog.
The ADP won't shift much.
If these players remain Philadelphia Eagles, the ADP will not shift much.
But this is the fantasy football equivalent of a blackout.
blackjack split. If you have these guys both rostered in Dynasty or if you've been drafting
both of them as like a teammate stack, you are actually betting on a trade to help out both of them.
It's about as simple as it gets. If A.J. Brown is traded. A.J. Brown is going to gain value in
fantasy football. He has a, if a team spends a absolute fortune on A.J. Brown, they're committing to him.
It would be the equivalent potentially of Derek Henry ending up in Baltimore.
A dynasty boost extending the shelf life.
And from a best ball perspective, the target ceiling for AJ Brown moves up.
The run heavy nature of the Philadelphia offense, he escapes it,
ends up potentially in a situation where he is the focal point of the offense.
Let's do a little test here.
Put AJ Brown in New England.
as Drake May's top target.
Does that sound like a player you'd be interested in drafting?
Me too.
I would love that.
I think that would be insane.
AJ Brown in New England would be awesome.
How about A.J. Brown in Los Angeles being coached by Mike McDaniel and catching passes
from Justin Herbert on an offense that's going to score a ton of points?
I think I'd be really into that one too.
So there's all these situations for A.J. Brown where he leaves Philly,
Someone spends a lot on him and it's takeoff season.
He will end up scoring a ton in fantasy football.
Now, how about Devanta Smith?
Devonta Smith's always been one of these really, really good players in fantasy football.
He has two seasons where he average 15 points per game.
And he's been consistently good ever since Philadelphia took him with the 10th pick in the NFL draft a few years and years ago at this point.
Devante Smith was the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft,
and Philly has gotten a huge return on their investment.
Smith has been an integral part of a winning team that's been a very effective offense.
He's been a very effective fantasy asset for fantasy managers year in, year out.
He's been a player you've been happy to have on your fantasy roster.
He's had a bunch of very good seasons, but he hasn't had the season.
And you know what I mean when I say that.
a season that defines a player in fantasy football,
a season where everything works out
and they have a career year
and an absolute ton of production.
Devonta Smith is capable of being 150 target player.
And if A.J. Brown is traded,
the way things are setting up for DeVant to Smith,
he'll end up being 150 target player.
If A.J. Brown is traded on draft night or day two,
not really draft night.
draft like call it draft weekend or trade it like up until June 4 starts June 1st maybe they make a deal June 1
if A.J. Brown is traded from Philly sometime in the next month or so.
Devontas Smith is one of the biggest offseason winners in fantasy football because we don't know
what that sort of season will look like for 27 year old Devontas Smith.
There's been a lot of beat reporters saying Devontas Smith could be used sort of like Jackson
Smith and Jigba.
a huge target share guy, a player where the entire passing game is sort of revolves around him.
And you kind of look at what Phillies done.
They just traded for Dantavian Wicks.
They signed Hollywood Brown.
They signed Elijah Moore.
They're sort of moneyballing this wide receiver two position if they lose A.J. Brown.
Now, they're going to draft somebody.
Again, I talked about Jordan Tyson.
I think Jordan Tyson's a beast out of Arizona State.
but the target share for Devanta Smith
and the focus of the passing game would completely shift to him
you go to Fantasy Points Data Suite
and look at what AJ Brown's done the last few years
in terms of first read targets
in terms of target share
I mean he's through the roof
you just haven't seen it in a massive massive massive
massive scale because of the passing volume
but you take AJ Brown out of the equation
you put him in a number of these rumored spots
he's going to gain value.
You take Devontas Smith, you remove A.J. Brown.
All of a sudden, he's gained a ton of value.
So if you're rostering these guys, it's Blackjack split time,
and it's time to get greedy and be really, really excited about what these guys could accomplish
in this upcoming season.
They're not the only wide receivers to pay attention to out of the NFC East, though.
You got Terry McLaurin.
Go down I-95 from Philly, and you're going to hit Landover, Maryland.
and you're going to hit the Washington commanders.
And you've got Terry McLaren.
And Terry McLaren, this is a fun one.
Terry McLaren, I've been optimistic about all offseason long.
I think Terry McLaren, this offseason has been a player that you want to trade for
as like a mercenary in Dynasty, one year kind of guide and dynasty, really if you're
pushing the chips in, or a best ball sort of a post-type sleeper type where he was steamed up
last year failed and this year he'll return value.
And you've got a hype man in David Blow, the new OC in Washington.
But sort of let's let's go back in time again.
Talk about 2024.
The Washington commander select Jaden Daniels.
And this team became like one of the fun teams in the NFL and in fantasy football.
They won all those close games, a couple of games like at the buzzer where Washington's
winning these super close games.
in the fourth quarter.
And Terry McLaren had a career year.
Mired in quarterback mediocrity, revolving door of the most mid-quarterbacks you could imagine.
McLaurin had been really good in fantasy without having a really, really good season.
You know what I mean with that comment.
Again, like McLaren, you liked having them on your team,
but you finally got rewarded for your patience in 2025.
where, excuse me, 2024, where McLaren ends up averaging 15.8 points per game, and he has 13
touchdown catches. Washington ends up having a dream season, reaches the NFC championship game,
Jaden Daniels hysteria, Jaden Daniels steams up ahead of Josh Allen and some dynasty rankings.
Like, Jaden Daniels and Terry McLaren heading into 2025, this was the duo people wanted to draft.
This was like, I can draft at the three four turn, Jaden Daniels and Terry McLaren and have that stack.
You saw it a million times in FFPC.
If you drafted the 350s or the main events, people are doing that a million times.
It was Jaden Daniels at the three four turn with Terry McLaren and you had this built-in stack.
What could go wrong?
Well, a lot went wrong.
Terry McLaren ends up holding out, which probably contributed to his poor season.
Jaden Daniels banged up throughout the year, and missed a lot of time.
That also contributed to McLaren's season.
But McLaren was really, really bad at ADP.
Washington finished his 5 and 12.
They were terrible.
McLaurin only played 10 games, and there was a dramatic decline in his points per game.
It goes from 15.8 down to 11.4, worst average of his entire career.
Washington ends up sort of making a bunch of changes this offseason.
They end up saying that they want to get Jaden Daniels behind center more.
This leads to Cliff Kingsbury moving on and David Blow being promoted to the offensive coordinator,
a Wunderkind 30-year-old offensive coordinator who was just in the league as,
as recently as 2023, David Blow was in the league.
So you promote this guy, David Blow to O.C.
Detroit was sniffing at Blow.
Blow would could have ended up been their OC this offseason.
Washington sort of beat the posse made that move to get Blow.
By all accounts, Blow is super, super sharp.
You don't get hired at this level of the NFL for this sort of a job unless you're super, super sharp if you're 30 years old.
So David Blow gets this job and running the offense.
And what does he say during his intro press conference?
Not his intro, but one of his first press conference is,
back in February, Blau goes,
this thing is going to be built around
how do we get Terry 10 targets a game?
And my mind exploded.
I'm like, oh my gosh, this is it.
You finally have an offensive coordinator that's like,
Terry McLaren, Terry McLaren, Terry McLaren,
let's get him 10 targets a game.
And the guy actually said 10 targets a game.
He's speaking to us.
David Blow cares about my fantasy teams.
You can just see it.
Terry McLaren, post-type sleeper, wheels up.
Let's go.
Washington doesn't add any real target competition.
Debo Samuel is still a free agent.
Not going to come back to Washington this year.
Guys like Traylon Burks,
Traylon Burks is the presumed wide receiver two right now.
So like Terry McLaren, right now,
if you have Terry McLaren, wheels up.
But there's another problem for Terry McLaren.
And we talked about Jeremiah, I love landing in Washington.
There's also Carnell Tate.
And Cleveland could take Carnell Tate right before Washington at six.
And then you've got the possibility, of course, of Tennessee saying,
we haven't had a wide receiver in forever.
Let's shock everybody and let's take Tate.
And maybe you're not a Carnal Tate is the wide receiver one in this class.
Maybe you think, you know, Theo, I see Jordan Tyson steaming up.
I see Jordan Tyson being mocked to Kansas City.
I see him being mocked to New Orleans.
Washington's close enough.
Maybe they go Jordan Tyson.
Or maybe Washington is going to pull the rug out from everybody.
And they're going to like a Mackay Lemon.
They're going to like an Omar Cooper.
They're going to move around and they're going to get their wide receiver of choice
and maybe not stay OTC at seven.
Doesn't matter.
The point being is Washington is starting to sniff at some of these wide receivers.
And it's a deep class of wide receivers.
There's the haters out there that don't like this wide receiver class.
There's plenty of them.
But you're going to end up seeing six of them draft in the first round.
Five of them drafted in the first round.
That's pretty good.
Especially considering all the edge rushers in this class,
all the offensive linemen in this class.
So for the NFL to say, you know what?
We're going wide out.
We're going to take a bunch of these guys in the first round.
Probably a better class than some fantasy analysts are insinuating.
And maybe you don't have a Malik neighbor's Jamar Chase,
but you've got a lot of really good wide receivers who are going to play in this league for a long time.
And maybe Washington says, we've got to get younger here.
That won't be good for Terry McLaren.
And a bunch of people will listen to this and say, Theo, you don't get it.
You don't get how football works.
The pie grows larger.
The more good wide receivers, the more effective the offense.
is going to be, okay, but we're not playing real football.
We're not playing real football.
We're not playing Get Washington from 5 and 12 back to 12 and 5.
We're playing fantasy football.
And if you have Terry McLaren, you have the offensive focal point right now.
We mentioned Rashad White.
We mentioned Jacori Kroski-Marit.
Tight end, Chigakanco.
Chigacanquo comes back to the DMV after playing at Maryland.
Fun story, but a capped season.
Like, Chigacanquo, is he going to be peak Zach Ertz?
maybe. That would be great if you have Oconquah roster. But the point being, the highest
pedigreed offensive skill position player on Washington besides the quarterback, Jaden Daniels, is Terry
McLaren. And if Terry McLaren suddenly has to compete with a 21-year-old Carnell Tate or a Mackay
Lemon or one of these guys, Jordan Tyson, for targets, it caps his ceiling outcome. He probably
isn't going to average 15.8 points per game. If he can avoid one of the ones,
of these guys and Washington goes elsewhere. Washington maneuvers go get David Bailey. That would be
amazing for Terry McLaren. Terry McLaren is old. He's turning 31 this year. And McLaren seems younger
than he is because he came into the league late. And I think that there's an argument to be said
that Washington paying him so much last year, they don't do it unless they have a lot of confidence
that he can continue to perform at a very high level. But at the end of the day, their player is
that Washington could take it at seven overall
that could take over the hierarchy at wide receiver.
It's, you're foolish if you don't think this could happen.
Where 31-year-old going up against a 21-year-old
with enough talent to get selected in the top 10,
or let's say the top 15 if Washington slides back a little bit,
that would not be good for business for Terry McLaren.
If you have Terry McLaren rostered,
you want to see him get through this draft unscathed.
Let Washington take somebody in the fourth round,
something like that, not take somebody in the top 10 picks.
We'll keep an eye on Terry McLaurin.
If he survives the draft, he's in a very, very good spot for this season.
If they draft one of these wide receivers in the top 10, the ceiling is capped.
And that's going to get people annoyed.
The player I'm going to talk about next, it gets people furious.
And I am not without exposure to Ladd-McConkie in Dynasty.
I've got some Ladd-McConkie out there, okay?
I'm not a sucker.
I realized what Ladd-McConkie was during rookie drafts two years ago.
I have plenty of lad.
I hope I'm wrong on this one.
And Ladd-McConkie, it's like last year was completely forgiven.
Let's go back in time.
Ladd-McConkey as a rookie, 15.1 points per game, had 81 catches, and had an unbelievable
year.
Just missed out on finishing as a wide receiver one.
Would have made it three rookie wide receiver ones that year with Malik Naberie.
and Brian Thomas, Ladmukaki would have been the third.
He just missed it.
15 points per game as a rookie, unbelievable.
And what does he do in his final game of the season?
He has 197 receiving yards in Los Angeles' playoff loss to Houston.
This was the best performance by a rookie wide receiver in the playoffs ever.
McConkey passed Pooka Nukua is what Pukukua did the year before.
So, Mokaki steamed up.
two three turn redraft ADP last year.
He's going right alongside Jackson Smith and Jigba,
and in a lot of drafts going right ahead of Jackson Smith and Jigba.
JSN went on to win leagues.
Ladmukaki went on to be one of the worst picks you could have made at that range of the draft.
Goes from 15 points per game down to 11.4 points per game.
Just disgusting decline.
Got out targeted by Keenan Allen for a large portion of the year.
Quentin Johnston for a large portion of the year.
Then Ladd ends up sort of getting it together.
Has a couple of 20-point performances in the middle of the year.
And people say, okay, we're back.
Then tailed off again in the second half of the year.
I get it.
L.A. had offensive line issues galore.
Missing multiple offensive linemen, Joe Alt out.
I mean, like, I get it.
The offensive line declined.
But Ladd McConkey also declined.
in a big way. Fast forward to this offseason, Mike McDaniel hired as the offensive coordinator,
and 2025 has all but been forgiven and forgotten by fantasy managers when it comes to Ladd McConkey.
There is so much optimism for this Chargers offense and for Ladd McConkey to rebound
and be one of the biggest bounceback players in fantasy football this season.
McConkey is up to wide receiver 18 overall on underdog, really, really high level.
place to be. If you're drafting somebody at wide receiver 18, you think they can be a wide receiver
one. And if you're drafting somebody at wide receiver 18 and are content with them being the
wide receiver 18, you're playing the game wrong. If you're drafting wide receivers from this range,
it's the range of wide receivers that can finish as a wide receiver one. Ladd-McConkie
right there for a lot of fantasy managers. And there's nothing but hope and optimism with the
Mokonki situation. And I'm going to say not so fast. The runway might be murkier than many of us believe.
There's target competition already. We're not even talking about that, though. I'm not talking Quentin
Johnston being sort of a dark horse here. Trey Harris. Again, people are going to make fun of me for
that comment. There's also ascending tight end to Ronde Gadsden. We're not going to talk about him.
There's also Amarian Hampton getting a massive belcow workload. We're not talking about him.
We're talking about pick number 22, and we're saying Los Angeles could end up going wide receiver here.
And if you're Ladd-McConkie manager, you're sort of laughing at this one, saying Theo, again, didn't you hear how bad the 2026 class is?
But if LA takes a wide receiver at 22 overall, it's not a great thing for Ladd-McConkey.
You can't talk your way into this one.
And I get it, Ladd-McConkie, very good player.
Even last year, a bunch of 20-point weeks, I mentioned him.
He can play.
But Ladd McConkey's target ceiling and his ceiling outcome points per game would take a hit if Los Angeles says a name like KC Concepcion at 22.
Or Los Angeles gets involved with a trade-up and gets themselves a Jordan Tyson.
Even a guy like Denzel Boston who's very different from Ladd McConkey would be annoying right there.
Omar Cooper Jr.
Be annoying.
the sort of the new name stepping in there with Mike McDaniel
and a name that Los Angeles is willing to invest in in a first round
in a position that maybe most people don't think is a huge position of need.
A lot of people are saying LA is going to end up taking an interior defensive lineman.
A lot of people are saying LA is going to end up taking an offensive lineman,
continue to try to build up that offensive line.
They have in free agency.
They sign a guard, they sign in center, etc.
They could still go O-line.
They go D-line.
I get it.
But if they go wide receiver,
it's not a good thing for Ladd-McConkey.
And in Dynasty,
a flip could occur.
And Ladd-McConkie,
it's sort of a...
Is it going to be a blip on the radar season
where year two,
that's all forgotten,
and year three and year four are going to be awesome?
And this is what Ladd is.
He's a 15-point-per-game guy,
like I saw a rookie year.
Or is there a chance that Ladd-McConkey,
we already saw his best year,
and it was his rookie year.
I think there's a range of outcomes here, but I know that the range of outcomes here is not going to be aided in the positive if L.A. says a wide receiver name. They're also the dark horse team for A.J. Brown. They got the cap space. They have the motivation to go and get A.J. Brown. And let's not forget, when Alec Pierce resigned with Indianapolis, L.A. offered him a bunch of money to come be a charger. So Ladd McCocky's already avoided Alec Pierce. And Alec Pierce, incredibly different player than Lada.
McConkey, the very high A dot, the downfield targets,
Alec Pierce leading the NFL in yards per reception and consecutive years,
different, different.
But still, L.A. was willing to throw the bag at that sort of a wide receiver in the
offseason.
They got turned down.
And they've sort of been in the background.
It wasn't like Alec Pierce signed, they miss on Alec Pierce and they go and get another
wide receiver.
No, no, they've been biting their time here.
But I think 22 overall, it's a danger zone.
If you have Ladd-McConkie in Dynasty, you don't want to see LA take a wide receiver at 22 overall.
And if you have Ladd-McConkey in best ball, you don't as well.
And if you have Ladd-McConkie in best ball, you really don't want to see them end up being the A.J. Brown fallback team if it doesn't work out with the Patriots.
So we'll keep an eye on this one.
You're probably safe, Ladd-McCockie managers.
You're probably right to be optimistic.
But I got a little sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Still got my shares.
have an unloaded lad in Dynasty,
but I am not as optimistic as some
when we look at the situation in L.A.
Really, really a tilting player.
One more player to talk about.
Let's talk about, we talked about Kenneth Walker earlier in the show.
Let's talk about Zach Charbonnet.
And there's been so much discussion this offseason
about Kenneth Walker escaping Zach Charbonnet
in the Seattle backfield and Kenneth Walker ending up in Kansas City.
But there's also Zach Charbonnet.
Zach Charbonnet could end up gaining or losing a ton of value on draft night.
Now, of course, he's recovering from a torn ACL that ended the 25th season,
going to start the year out.
I don't even know how many weeks he's going to miss,
but let's say he misses half the season.
When Zach Charbonnet comes back,
he's going to come back to a huge role right now based on the roster.
Even the biggest Emmanuel Wilson optimist has to realize
that he's taken a back seat to Zach Charbonnet.
A player that this coaching staff loved,
a player that scored 12 touchdowns for Seattle last year
in their Super Bowl winning year
when he was competing for touches with Kenneth Walker.
So Walker gains by getting away from Charbonnet,
but Charbonnet also gains by getting away from Kenneth Walker.
On paper, Zach Charbonnet is poised to return to a really big role.
The problem is Seattle's going to take a running base.
And this is another one where everybody's going to say,
Yo, Theo, haven't you heard?
The 26 running back class sucks.
Besides Jeremiah Love, everybody's telling me how bad this running back class is.
But if you look at what this organization has done historically,
Seattle has found value at the running back position on day two.
They did it with Kenneth Walker.
He was a second round pick.
They did it with Zach Charbonnet.
He was a second round pick.
And yes, both of those guys have shown that they can really,
play in the NFL. Charbonnet has 20 rushing scores over the last two years. Kenneth Walker was just
a Super Bowl MVP and completely annihilated the NFL playoffs was unbelievable. So Seattle knows what
they're doing, evaluating talent. Then you look at what they were able to do at other positions.
Last year, they draft Gray-Zable, absolute stud offensive lineman. They draft Eman Worry,
the safety, absolute stud safety. So Seattle knows what they're doing. They hit.
as an organization.
If Seattle drafts a running back, like Judarian Price with the 32nd overall pick,
you better believe that that guy is going to do well on their team and that there's a
changing of the guard.
And the ACL is something that they are unwilling to invest in with Charbonnet and it's
sort of time to sort of change the guard.
And maybe this is what they do.
They end up drafting a running back, playing them on his rookie contract, and then moving
on, but there's connection between Judarian Price and Seattle at Pick 32.
I actually think it's more likely that Seattle will trade back a little bit.
Get into the 40s.
Go get yourself Judarian Price at Pick 38, pick 39, trade out of pick 32, get into the second
round.
Somebody trades up, maybe that's the Ty Simpson team, trades up and they trade that
selection, they get out of it, they trade back, they take Judarian Price there.
I think that's what's going to happen.
I think it's going to be Judarian Price being a Seattle Seahawk.
What if I'm wrong?
Seattle's going to still draft a running back.
Now, are they going to wait until day three?
If they wait until day three,
Zach Charbonnet is a huge winner on draft night.
It means Seattle believes in him and his toughness
and what he brings to the organization and his past blocking
and his ability to get in the end zone
and the things that frustrated all the Kenneth Walker fantasy managers,
including myself, last year,
Zach Charbonnet, the coaching staff, is sort of endeared to him.
But if they end up with Judarian Price in round one,
or they end up with, let's say, Jonah Coleman in round two or three,
Mike Washington in round two or three.
Seattle's basically going to tell you what they think
if they go and get their running back late night one in the first round
or second or third round.
They get one of these guys.
I think they're going to tell you how invested they are
by how much draft capital they spend.
If it's day three,
Zach Charbonnet is probably pretty safe.
If they're pushing one of these guys up higher
than a lot of people are projecting them to go,
then Seattle's found their guy at running back
and Zach Charbonnet has been effectively newped.
If you have any of these players rostered,
make sure you're paying attention to the NFL draft.
And if you don't have any of these players rostered,
you're still going to be paying attention to the NFL draft
because we've been waiting for this for months
and we are almost there.
