It's time for the Fantasy Points podcast, brought to you by FantasyPoint.com.
Top level fantasy football and NFL betting analysis from every perspective and angle,
from numbers to the film room, with a single goal to help you score more fantasy points.
And we have a brief reprieve from buy weeks here at FantasyPoint.com and the Fantasy Points WaverWire Podcast.
I'm Joe Dolan, Tom Brawley, here with me.
Tom, we have 16 games this week, mostly because three games are on Thanksgiving, and, well, God
forbid the NFL have only like 10 games on Sunday, so they have a full slate on Sunday.
And so there is a reprieve from buy weeks this week.
There's nobody on by this week, but there are, I believe, four teams on by next week,
and then six teams on by in week 14, which could be an absolute nightmare as we're preparing
for the playoff push.
But Tom, that is in the future.
This is week 12.
everybody barring injury is available to you.
And after a relatively heavy waiver wire week last week, especially at the wide receiver
position, we're back to a pretty light week here in week 12.
So I'm expecting we should be able to get through this podcast relatively quickly.
How are you doing, Tom?
What's the what are the Thanksgiving plans?
What's the travel looking like for you?
Oh, my sister's having a little, little get together with our immediate family and some of my cousins.
And so we'll have a nice little event there on Thursday.
so I'm traveling home.
I'm only about an hour from my hometown here anyway,
up in central Pennsylvania here.
So I'll be traveling home tonight.
And this is always a hectic week for us.
And it's a hectic week for everybody else out there
that has to work or travel.
But yeah, we're back to 16 games.
So we're not prepared for it.
You know, we've been living on these bye weeks here
for the last six, seven weeks.
So we're back to the.
the 16 games, that's better for fantasy, though.
We'll have more full rosters at our disposal.
But, yeah, as you said, it's a little weird here.
We get the buys coming up, coming back on week 13 and week 14, which is going to be
interesting.
Week 14 might be one of the more interesting weeks of the year, because that's like kind
of the final push to the fantasy playoffs.
And a lot of leagues start their playoffs in week 15.
So those two, not necessarily this waiver.
but next week's and the week after, those might be two of the most important waiver wires of the year.
But we'll try to help you out here.
I don't know if there's going to be many difference makers out there, but maybe we'll find a couple out there.
There always seems to be one or two.
So let's see if we can dig some, you know, gems here off the waiver wire this week.
Let's start in the backfield where we had some news yesterday.
Denver released Melvin Gordon, Tom.
And I mean, what a joke.
What about six weeks too late?
I mean, just
Talk about a coaching staff that has no clue what they're doing.
I mean, just absolutely atrocious.
Like, Javante, I know we're rehashing something that can't be undone at this point,
but Javante Williams is ripping off chunks of yards every time he touches the ball.
They put Gordon in the game and he vomits all over himself.
And then they just keep feeding Gordon.
Javante gets hurt.
They bring in Latavius Freak and Murray.
and now they decide to cut Melvin Gordon for fumbling.
I mean, it is a joke.
That being said, Latavius Murray is available in roughly 75% of Yahoo Leagues.
And one name that's got to be thrown back on here, Tom,
it looks like he could be back after week 12 per Mike Cliss.
Mike Boone could be back and he's virtually available in every league at this stage.
Yeah, I mean, Latavius is obviously the priority.
Obviously.
He's been, you know, he's widely available too.
I mean, we've been skeptical as well.
It's Latavius Murray.
He's in his 30s.
He's bounced around the league here.
But he has played somewhat consistently.
And he's certainly had some touchdown luck on his side here.
This is the, I think they've scored the fewest touchdowns in the league so far this year.
And somehow Murray has scored three times in his last four games.
So his touchdown luck, it's certainly been on his side here recently.
That could dry up here.
at any minute, but if we take out Melvin Gordon out of the backfield.
He's actually been catching the ball a little bit the last two games.
We don't necessarily think of Latavius Murray as much of a receiver,
but he has caught the ball a little bit.
Russell Wilson's been targeting his running backs quite a bit.
So he's a guy you can add off the waiver wire.
I wouldn't be used.
I mean, he's not a guy I'm going to be using with a whole lot of confidence
with the state of the Broncos offense and just what we know about Latavius
Murray. But, you know,
taking Melvin Gordon out of this
equation certainly boosts his
up, boosts his value
for the rest of the season. But as
you said, Mike Boone's kind of an intriguing guy
to add here.
I noted in our article that
running backs in Denver have seen the fifth
most targets at the position.
And they have the second highest target share
so far this year
with 25% of their targets.
So Russell Wilson
has been checking down to his running backs
quite a bit here. With Melvin Gordon out of the mix, I don't think anybody really thinks of Latavius
Murray and Marlon Mack as receiving back. So Boone could potentially, you know, I don't think he's
going to be like an RB2 or anything, but if you're playing in deeper formats or you're playing in
PPR heavy leagues, maybe Mike Boone could start to catch three or four passes a game once he's
healthy enough to return. We'll see if it's this week. I know they can open the practice window this
week. I think it was a high ankle variety. So, you know, we've seen that recently. The last couple,
you know, Big Mike Williams was the notable one last week, trying to come back quickly off
of a high ankle injury and it didn't go well. So we got to temper expectations based on the
injury that he's coming off of. But I think he's a viable, you know, pick up and stash here.
And, you know, maybe, maybe something comes of it here in the next couple of weeks in PPR formats.
Samajai P-Rine time for a potential one-week fill-in, obviously coming off the three-touchdown performance.
But Joe Mixon has a concussion.
There's a chance Joe Mixon isn't able to play here in week 11.
Samaj-P-Rine could, in week 12, rather.
Samaj-P-Rine could be a fantastic one-week filling for you.
Yeah, the one downside, I'll throw it out there.
They have the Titans this week who have just been the, you know, one of the premier run-stopping units in the league.
we saw it last week again against the Packers.
Just nobody runs on this defense.
So it does throw, it does does hinder his value a little bit this week.
But as we saw last week with the three receiving touchdowns,
and that's kind of been his role anyway,
spelling Joe Mixon throughout the last couple of years.
He's kind of, he spells him in passing situations.
So at the very least, he could still come through,
you know, maybe give us three to five catches out of the best.
backfield. Burroughs been, you know, Mixon's been like a virtual lock for three receptions a game.
We saw P-Run catch four passes last week. So, you know, he's going to be involved as a receiver
in this game. So if Mixon does mix, miss, he's, even though it's a tough matchup, he should
still come through with a decent PPR value just based on his usage in the passing game.
And we'll see, we'll see if Mixen, hopefully he gets back sooner than later.
But, you know, maybe it could turn into a multi-week injury.
We'll see as we get later in the week here to see if he's, like, making any progress in practice.
But I would think P. Ryan probably gets at least one start here.
If you've been rolling with Joe Mixing, this is the week.
You've got to go pick him up.
And probably a guy that you probably want to hold on to the rest of the way here.
We're getting down to that time of year where, you know, these Mike Boone, you know, we talk Mike Boone up a lot.
you know, sometimes these guys don't have that much value if you're not playing in deeper leagues.
So a guy like P. Rhine, if he's elevated to the lead position, his value is a lot, you know,
he has the potential to be like a top five, top 10 score in a given week compared to these,
you know, secondary type of running backs in these backfields.
Forgive me for asking, but do you have any interest in the Rams backfield?
Not really. I mean, if I had to, I'd go with Kyron Williams.
He did play 55% of the snaps.
This offense has been god-awful.
They're going to be playing from behind a lot.
So maybe he can carve out a decent little receiving role.
Receiving role in this backfield.
I think a lot of people are going to go nuts and not nuts,
but the priority is going to be probably Cam Acres out of this backfield
after they see that he got 14 carries.
But I think I'd much rather have Kyron Williams moving forward.
there's a chance they go into evaluation mode.
Maybe they want to see what he can do as a runner a little bit more.
So he's definitely the priority.
I don't even want to say priority.
But he would be the guy I'm adding out of this backfield.
If I dare use anybody from this ramps backfield right now.
Well, another guy, Jared McKinnon, by the way, 26% of leagues.
It looks like Clyde Edwards-Alair has a high ankle sprain.
He was getting phased out anyway.
Isaiah Pacheco has been the Waver-Wire darling.
The thing about Pacheco, though, is he doesn't score and he doesn't catch passes.
So he's got all the empty calorie touches.
Derek McKinnon's available in 75% of leagues, and he's part of the Chiefs offense.
Is it a great option?
No.
Can you do worse?
Absolutely.
Yeah, I think he's going to be somewhat viable down the stretch.
And I think he could, he might get dropped a little bit at this week.
He did have the bad fumble in the game.
But he did play 52% of the snaps.
So this was a very 50-50 split.
And that matchup against the Chargers is always more conducive to running the ball.
So Pacheco Sol, you know, his first, I think it was his first 100-yard game.
So it was.
Yeah, yeah, I was going to say.
He had an 80-yard game earlier this season.
But McKinnon, you know, if Clyde Edwards-Flare is going to be out of the mix here,
I think he's, you know, viable in deeper formats.
So, you know, we're really digging deep here.
There's not a whole lot of help out there at running back.
So, you know, Latavius Murray is probably the priority guy, but not a whole lot out there.
Hopefully, you're in a good situation going into this non-by week here.
At wide receiver, I think there's one option that stands out above all else to me.
Presuming, Tom, we've talked about Donovan, Peoples, Jones, and Paris Campbell on this program.
Those guys are kind of fringy right now.
Like, they're like 50.
Yeah, they're wide receiver 3s right now.
Yeah.
I can't believe people haven't picked them up yet.
I mean, they're, I mean, they're guys that could be in your lineup right now.
Traylon Burks is available in 80% of Yahoo Leagues right now.
He's just coming off his first 100-yard game of his career.
The Titans need somebody to catch the ball.
And is he refined? Absolutely not.
No.
And can he have a role here?
Absolutely.
Yeah, and we saw kind of what I think they want to start doing with him to open up this.
You know, teams are ganging up on them.
You know, Derek Henry, you know, he's.
going to face a lot of heavy boxes.
And we saw the lid get lifted a little bit last week,
43-yard game and a 51-yard game late in that game.
So they kind of want Berks to do that kind of stuff.
Robert Woods certainly can't do it at this point.
You know, Nick Westbrook-Kine is not necessarily that type of player.
He can do it a little bit more than Robert Woods.
But Trelaen Burks is kind of the guy that can get vertical in this offense a little bit.
And, you know, he adds another dimension to this game.
this passing offense has looked the best it's looked probably all season over the last two weeks since Ryan Tannehill came back.
And I don't think it's a coincidence that Traylon Burks has been also back in the lineup the last two weeks.
So this passing game, yeah, it's never going to be a top half of the league type of passing game.
We know what they want to do on a weekly basis.
But just having a little bit more of a 50-50 split in terms of run past.
can only help this offense. And I think Traylon Burks is going to be a big part of that.
So we should continue to see his role grow here a little bit. And I think they're going to start
taking weekly deep shots to him to try to open things up for Derek Henry in the running game.
DeMarcus Robinson coming off a hundred-yard game. I can't believe I actually played against him
in a league, but I did. He's available in 96% of Yahoo Leagues is DeMarcus Robinson.
And the Ravens need to throw it to somebody. Rashad Bateman's out for the year.
I don't know what's happened to Duverne, but yeah, the Ravens need to throw it to somebody.
And DeMarcus Robinson, I know you play him and he's going to go one for 14.
Like, but he's there.
He's there.
Yeah, he's been the guy that stepped up here recently.
Devin Duvonne Duvonne, as you said, has kind of fallen by the wayside here a little bit.
And the thing that DeMarcus Robinson brings is he's kind of that guy who they're kind of counting on to win
one-on-one matchups on the perimeter.
You know, Devin Duvonne has been more of a slot type.
You use them on crossers and, you know, he's more of an underneath.
But you can count on DeMarcus Robinson to go out and win on one-on-one situations on the perimeter.
So I think that's kind of what's happening here.
You know, teams are starting to focus in, you know, Mark Andrews is the only weapon in this
passing game right now.
So he's going to draw a lot of attention in the middle of the field.
So they're going to have one-on-one.
opportunities with their perimeter receivers.
And DeMarcus Robbins has been, you know, he's stepped up here the last couple of weeks.
And the other thing I'll say about him is he's got a pristine playoff schedule.
I mean, I would be, yeah, he's got, you know, Atlanta and Pittsburgh in week 16 and 17.
So if he can somehow, I don't think, I would probably lean towards he probably falls off here
over the next couple of weeks.
But we're starting to see at least some sort of.
sample size here, the last three games that he could, you know, be a piece, you know,
maybe that number two receiver behind Mark Andrews going forward. And he gets a chance to play
Atlanta and Pittsburgh secondary in the fantasy, you know, championship weeks. So if he can somehow
maintain this, maybe we could possibly use him with some confidence in week 16 and 17
against two of the best matchups in the league. Um, one more that should be mentioned.
Yeah, we got two more.
Yeah.
Okay.
Let's start with Sky Moore.
Yeah.
Okay.
Let's start Sky Moore.
Yeah.
Well, I wanted to mention James and Williams too.
Yeah.
Yeah, I did want to bring him up.
Let's start with Sky.
Yeah, let's start with Sky.
And I think Justin Watson was the guy that played a lot more.
And he was on the field for 88% of the snaps with Marcus Valdas Scantling.
So but Sky Moore is the guy that we touted earlier this year.
And it's been pretty quiet so far.
But maybe the start.
are aligning here. We got
Ju-Ju-Smith-Suster out with a concussion.
Maybe he's back this week. Probably
has the best chance of returning this week
out of the guys that are gone. McCull-Hardman
certainly isn't coming back because he's on the IR.
And, of course,
Cadarius Tony
shived everybody
that
used him in that Sunday night
game. I'm sure he was
I would like a lot of love to see
his start percentage. I'm sure everybody for the
first time all year, finally
felt some confidence in him and his bulky hamstrings acted up again and we'll see how long he's
out again. You know, it was tough enough for him to get on the field in New York in the early part
of the season here. So it looks like the seas might be parting here a little bit for Skymore
to actually make some noise here down the stretch. I don't know if I could use them with a lot
of confidence if Juju does play this week, but if Juju is out and Cadarius is out,
maybe he's a guy that you could fill in for one week here,
see how it goes.
If he produces again,
maybe he starts to earn a bit of a,
you know,
a bit of a bigger role here in this offense.
He made a critical catch late in that game,
over the middle,
which sustained a drive,
I believe, on a third downplay.
So, you know,
had season highs with 11, 11 fantasy points.
The snap share was still pretty underwhelming, though,
I got to say.
It was 42% even with Tony.
I think he only played 10 snaps in that game.
So it was still a little bit underwhelming.
They were kind of playing a lot of two tight end sets with MBS and Justin Watson on the field as the two wide receivers.
So it's a tepid upgrade here.
But I think if Juju and Tony are out this week, you could use Skymore with some confidence that maybe he can get you up, you know, three to five catches and 40 to 50 yards this week.
All right. And Jameson Williams, not going to be back on Thanksgiving.
Could be back after Thanksgiving, though. Tom, I'm not expecting a lot.
But this has been an offense that's been pretty fun.
And I think you can make an argument that Jameson Williams is somebody who might be able to sneak into a lineup,
maybe if his snap share is a little bit higher than he anticipated.
Yeah, well, it's looking promising that maybe he returns in week 13.
It's certainly not going to happen this week, but they did open his, they opened his practice window yesterday on November 21st. So that gives them 21 days. The way they've handled him all year, they could go on the more conservative side and, you know, push it to week, you know, week 14 or 15. But he's, you know, he's a first round pick. He was a huge playmaker at Alabama. Probably Alabama wins that national championship.
championship game if he doesn't get hurt. Basically, that was in the first quarter of that game.
Alabama was moving the ball like crazy before his injury. He's a difference maker when he's on the
field. But the other thing is, they haven't had a perimeter option really, you know, since the early
part of the season. Josh Reynolds has been really hampered by this back injury. DJ Chark barely
played last week. He's having a tough issue.
a lot of issues getting over that ankle injury that he had from last year.
It's been bothering him again this year.
So, Jameson, you know, it's been Cleef Raymond's show.
He's had three catches in like seven straight games.
So they've been really counting on Clef Raymond.
So that should tell you all you need to know about the opportunity that is there to play a lot right away for Jameson.
And we've seen this offense lose some key guys.
You know, they don't no longer have T.J. Hawkinson, DeAndre Swift.
is on a snap count every week.
So there's an opportunity for him to step into a pretty big role.
It's just, is it going to happen?
You know, they've been, you know, they've been using the kid gloves on them here for good reason.
This is a team that's not doing anything this year.
They have their site set for 2023 and beyond.
But, you know, maybe they take off the leash here and let them run here.
So he's certainly a guy that you should stash and kind of see how it goes here for the next two, three weeks.
and maybe he can sneak into your lineups in the fantasy playoffs.
At tight end position, there's really nothing that stands out to me.
Juan Johnson keeps scoring touchdowns, but that's, you know, that's,
hey, at the tight end position this year, that's a good thing.
It's somebody who might give you a goose egg, but also scoring a lot of touchdowns.
Trey McBride caught four passes but gained like 13 yards last night.
Evan Ingram's coming off a buy.
He might actually be the most intriguing to me.
He's available in 65% of leagues.
that's the guy I was going to highlight. He was heavily dropped over the buy. He had a back
injury right before their by too. So he had been going at a pretty good clip before the back
injury. So maybe this extra time off, the two weeks helped him to get right here. And the Ravens,
you know, they played the Panthers last week. So I don't automatically throw that out. They
haven't had a fantasy relevant tight end in like decades, I believe. So, but they,
They had given up 12 fantasy points and for their last five games before they played the Panthers.
So that's one spot where the Ravens defense has given up some production.
So maybe Ingram, you know, we're never really counting on him to score touchdowns,
but he could be good for four to five catches and 40 yards.
So if you're just looking for a guy that won't kill your lineup this week, maybe Ingram's the guy.
I'll also highlight, who is the other guy?
Oh, Logan Thomas on the low end here.
they do play the Falcons, which has been, you know, an ultimate tight end matchup for anybody that streams the position.
He's coming off season highs pretty much across the board.
The problem is he's not seeing like the massive snap share that he used to see last year.
They're kind of working in John Bates and Amari Rogers.
So Thomas is a guy, though, on the lower end, if you're really hurting at the position,
He's got the pristine matchup.
He seems to be finally trending towards getting over that, you know, his ACL injury that he had at the end of last year.
And after a bit of a slow start, it looks like his legs might be getting underneath him.
So maybe he's a guy to pick up here.
If you're playing in, you know, two tight end legs or deeper leagues.
Maybe he's a guy that's starting to come on here a little bit.
Certainly a guy I'm keeping my eye on here to see if he can put together two strong back-to-back performance.
here in a pretty good matchup here against the
You're probably not
don't have a chance to pick up to Sean Watson anymore
He will be back I believe in week 13
Of course against Houston
He's got a good playoff schedule
With the exception of Baltimore in week 15
Oh no never mind
He's got Washington in week 17
Okay that's a suddenly tough
There's some tough matchups in there
So forgive me let me let me recant that
I'm not really seeing a whole lot
At the quarterback position quite frankly Tom
No and good thing we're back
back to the full workload here with the 16 games, 32 teams. So hopefully you're not really
struggling for a streamer. But you might have been using fields. I know we've gotten some
questions. There's a chance that he misses this week. So people want to, you know, get some sort of
backup here. Marcus Marriota loses some steam here, but with Kyle Pitts going down for their,
probably for the year here with that MCL injury. So it does.
I'm so sick of Mario.
I know.
He's a guy you just don't watch.
You just check the box score.
You know, he's been coming through for fantasy, though.
He's had 16 fantasy points in eight games.
So he's been able, you know, he runs enough to come through.
So, but that is one of the lower probably totals that they'll play in this season.
So he's losing this little steam.
I'll say, you know, Ryan Tannahill has been trending up here.
We touched on the passing game looking a little bit better here since Traylon Burks and
Tana Hill came back in the same game in week 10.
So the problem with him is he doesn't run at all.
He just completely doesn't, you know,
it's just not in his repertoire anymore.
You know, maybe a guy like Kenny Pickett who's starting to come on a little bit.
But yeah, we're really reaching for any kind of help right now.
Hopefully your setup.
You know, Jacoby Brissette has actually been pretty decent.
Maybe you go there.
He's great.
And I'm a little, I have them in our, in my guillotine league.
And I, and I'm going to lose them.
And it stinks, but, you know, it is what it is.
They get the Buccaneers this week, which isn't a great match.
And I was looking a little bit at the advance weather.
It could be a little bit windy for that game.
So it's not like the best setup, but Cleveland's defense has been playing like crap.
And it's been helping them to play in some shootouts.
So maybe Berset might be the last time here.
If you've been using Fields, maybe you'd go back to Berset here.
He's been on a little bit of a pretty good streak here.
Mari Cooper, Donovan People's Jones have been playing really well,
and maybe we get a little bit more out of David and Joku.
So maybe that's where we look is Jacobi Brissette this week.
Check out the Waverwire article at FantasyPoints.com.
We have five more weeks of these podcasts, Tom.
It's kind of unbelievable at this stage.
We'll be back next week because there are teams on by next week,
and in week 14, those will be some critical weeks,
and we'll see what happens.
But for now, I just hope everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Maybe you play the DFS slate if you haven't
played it this year, maybe getting some of those like underdog, like, single day drafts.
Those are always fun.
I'm definitely going to be doing some of those for when I watch football this week.
T-bro, it's been good.
I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for taking the time to chat with me.
Yeah, you too, guys.
And, yeah, I'd like to echo the same sentiments.
Happy Thanksgiving, safe travels to everybody out there.
And hopefully all your bets and your DFS and your fantasy go well on Thanksgiving Day.
