It's time for the Fantasy Points podcast brought to you by FantasyPoints.com.
Top level fantasy football and NFL betting analysis from every perspective and angle,
from numbers to the film room, with a single goal to help you score more fantasy points.
Listening to this podcast right now, it means we actually had success recording it.
I apologize to anybody who was looking forward to the Week 12 Market Report recap,
because Tom and I, well, quite frankly, folks, we did the podcast.
We just didn't realize that our software had kicked us out multiple times.
So that podcast is into the void.
Now, fortunately, Tom and I, our discussion resulted in the market report article,
which you could catch at FantasyPoint.com.
But, T-Bro, let's just hope this WaverWire podcast,
which is usually about half the length of the Market Report Recap podcast.
Let's hope this one doesn't get lost into the void because we need to help the people here.
This is playoff pushing.
It's week 13.
This is the one that's really the more actionable podcast.
Yeah, I have no idea what happens on Mondays.
We just have some terrible luck.
That's the second time this season where we've had, you know, failure from our software that we use for our podcast.
So apologize out there to anybody that was looking forward to listening to that.
But Tuesdays, we've had a lot more success here.
Time to dig into this waiver wire.
It's, there's some running back.
stuff that we need to work through
because there's some guys that are banged up
and playing through some injury issues
that could lead to guys having bigger roles
if they sit out or whatever the scenario is.
So if you're looking for QB or tight end
or even wide receiver help this week,
you're probably not going to get a whole lot out there.
But running back, we have some situations
to work our way through here.
I know there's going to be Jet fans upset with us
about you saying,
that there's no quarterback help out there because there is somebody we will get to about that.
But let's start, as you mentioned, Tom, at the running back spot.
And at the top of the waiver wire, I mean, look, the Rams have a terrible offense.
But Kairn Williams is still available in roughly 60% of leagues.
Now, that's a guy we're mentioning because there are people and backs available in over 90% of leagues who might be helpful down the stretch.
But let's start with Kairn Williams.
Yeah, he's the guy that's got the most of a full-time role here coming out of the guys we're probably going to discuss.
They, of course, cut Darrell Henderson last week.
They're kind of thinning out this backfield.
Now it's just Kyron Williams and Cam Acres left to really handle the duties here.
And we know that they're kind of falling apart here.
You know, Schaefter was reporting.
They've fallen apart.
They're falling apart.
They're continuing to fall.
They're continuing to fall apart here.
Alan Robinson might be, yeah, he's done for the season.
We might be done with Alan Robinson here with Matthew Stafford here.
So we'll see about his status moving forward.
He'll have more fantasy upside if Stafford is able to play again this season.
But it's kind of looking like he's also trending towards being done for the year.
So this offense doesn't have a whole lot right now.
but Kyra Williams might have to be a central part of this offense moving forward.
He played 70% of the snaps.
He didn't really have a chance to do too much with Brace Parkins,
kind of running the offense here.
And he may continue to run the offense in the future here.
We'll see what happens with Stafford and what happens with John Wolford.
But he's going to have an option to get like 70% of the snaps most weeks
seems like a pretty good number for him.
And he's capable receiver here.
So hopefully he can start to catch three or four passes a game and get a few carries.
Acres is probably going to get most of the carries in this backfield.
But it's trending up here for him to have a big roll down the streps,
even though this offense has fallen apart, as you say, Joe.
Yeah, Travis E.TN.
Now, he left action in week 12, Tom, after just two carries with a foot injury.
he returned to the sidelines. He was warming up in full pads. He told reporters after the game
that he expects to be good to go for the game against the Lions this week. But Doug Peterson
said on Monday that it's a sprained foot. ETN was cleared to return to the game. The Jaguars decided
not to risk it. Jamichael Hastie handled almost all of the work in ETS stead. Now,
keep in mind, they did claim Darrell Henderson off waivers. You know, when they say, oh, he could
to return to the game. Obviously, to me, that's E.TN. They avoided serious injury here.
I never take it as like, take it as a guarantee that that player is going to play in the next game,
though, especially since it's to the same foot that cost them the entire 2021 season.
So, Jamichael Hastie's out there and, you know, say what you want about the Jaguars.
And I know, like, they got off to kind of a hot start and then they went back in their shell.
this is a team that can move the football.
Like this is a team that's moving the football way better than the Rams is right now.
So I think to Michael Hastie is somebody who is worth a speculative ad,
maybe even Darrell Henderson, depending on what the Jacks think of him.
Yeah, I think at the very least, if you're an ETAN owner here,
you want to pick up hasty just to ensure your back here.
It does seem like he's probably going to be able to play this week.
But as you said, Joe, you get you get.
get away from a Sunday's action.
Maybe they're swelling or, you know, whatever happens in the course of a week where, you know,
he starts to become more iffy.
And this is the other part of this equation is that we have a four and seven team.
They don't have a whole lot to play for here.
They're looking to the future here with Trevor Lawrence.
Doug Peterson's done a good job here so far.
But ETN is going to be a big part of their future here in the next two to three years.
So if there's any doubt that he could aggravate this injury or cause further structural issues or whatever with this foot, they're going to take it easy on him.
So Hasty, I think, is the top guy to get here. They made the James Robinson trade a few months ago back in October there right before the trade deadline.
And I think that was kind of a sign that they have full faith in Travis E.TN.
But I think it's also a sign that they have faith in Hasty as his backup.
So I think he's the guy to get.
Henderson would probably work in here as well.
But I think hasty's kind of, I think he's probably more of the top option here
and has the chance to be the Belcalf back, as we kind of saw on Sunday's game.
Snoop, Snoop Connor, I think, played five to ten snaps.
It was pretty minimal impact.
He had three carries for 11 years. Yeah, he had almost no role behind him. So we have some evidence that they're willing to give hasty most of the work here.
If ETN is out this week and, you know, what could potentially be a very high scoring game against the lines.
Tom, I have had the absolute level worst luck on prop bets this year. Just like guys leaving early.
Also, like, where I've evaluated the situation correctly, it's just I picked the wrong player.
Michael Carter, I mean, his, once James Robinson was ruled a healthy scratch, I'm like, oh,
I looked at his prop immediately. And I mean, this thing was so low, 45 and a half against the bears. The weather's
supposed to be sloppy in that game. Oh, Michael Carter. Yeah, he leaves Tom with,
with an ankle injury, was deemed doubtful to return. So that didn't sound good. And then, of course,
not only that. Bam Knight.
Zonovan Knight. Yes, Zonovan.
Yeah. He comes in. He makes his NFL debut and puts up
103 yards from scrimmage. Oh, boy, Tom. I have just had some
shit luck with my with my prop bets this year. But the Jets clearly wanted to get
a look at this Bam Knight, Zonovan Knight, for those of you looking to pick him up.
And to me, he's obviously a head.
of James Robinson right now. I mean, obviously. There's no reason after that game for them to go back
and say, oh, James Robinson now, he's back to being our lead guy if Michael Carter misses time.
Yeah, I think that they were fully prepared to give him a pretty good look in that game. He was
mixing in with Carter, you know, quite a bit early in the game before the ankle injury actually
happened. And then as soon as it did happen, Bam, Bam Knight ended up getting a lot of carries,
as he said, he gets that 100-yard game in his NFL debut.
Ty Johnson is also in the mix here.
He's used more like passing situations,
but this backfield is quickly turning into a major headache here.
I think we could see all four backs kind of in the mix here.
But I mean, if you're doing specula of ads here
and maybe Knight has earned himself a bigger role here,
and Michael Carter, it's the low,
ankle variety. It might not even result in much time missed. Maybe he misses a game here.
But the high ankle variety is the one that, you know, you're out four to six weeks.
So Carter should be back in the next, you know, one to three weeks, I would guess,
would be kind of his timeline here. But Knight is, he's kind of the guy that you go out there,
stash him right now. Maybe he can string together another good performance here and kind of
grab the lead runner job here in New York. He kind of has the physical size for it. He's
5-11, 210 pounds, and Greg Cosell, he thought he was more of a backup kind of for the,
in the future here. But, you know, he showed well in his first game here, and maybe he can
start to grab a bigger role moving forward here. They're clearly searching for something after
Debris Hall got heard.
They've given Michael Carter a chance.
They've given James Robinson's chance.
Maybe Zonovan Knight is getting his chance now,
and maybe he can run with it over the next couple of weeks.
There's three more guys that I want to mention,
and we'll probably get to them a little bit more,
a little quicker.
Mike Boone, eligible to come off of IR this week.
Melvin Gordon obviously got cut.
He signed with the Chiefs, by the way, on their practice squad,
but I wouldn't be surprised if Melvin Gordon gets a run
with the Chiefs down the stretch.
Mike Boone, he's rostered in 4% of Yahoo Leagues.
I mean, so he's out there.
Latavius Murray just played his highest snap share since 2019.
So you would think the Broncos are going to mix another back in there.
Marlon Mack is not it.
He's never been it.
And he's certainly not now.
Mike Boone, though, Tom, I think is somebody who's got an opportunity to make a little bit
of an impact down the stretch as a receiver.
Of course, this offense is totally broken.
And so I don't blame me if you're not exactly excited to pick up Mike Boone.
Yeah, this is kind of like a lesser Kyron Williams here off the waiver wire.
Maybe he can become a PPR back down the stretch.
Russell Wilson is completely broken and he's broken the rest of this offense.
But, you know, the fact that he is broken has led to a lot of targets for his back so far this season.
So, you know, going into last week, you know, the running backs were at a target share of nearly 25%.
So maybe Mike Boone can step into that passing back role and maybe get us three or four catches a game moving forward.
Maybe he can take a few carries away from Latavius Murray.
But, you know, from what we've seen from this offense, there's a good chance they're going to be playing from behind in some games late in the year here.
I know they have some matchups with a matchup with the chiefs coming up here.
So Boone, they also, as you said, they cut Melvin Gordon and they, you know, they cut Melvin Gordon and,
they've kind of cleared the runway for him to come back this week.
And he's first eligible this week.
So definitely a guy to a lower end PPR option,
maybe in a 14 or a 16 team leg here.
Jordan Mason, this guy's virtually available in every Yahoo League.
Elijah Mitchell tore his MCL again.
He's going to be missed the rest of the season.
I mean, barring a deep playoff run for the 49ers.
Christian McCaffrey has some knee soreness.
I mean, it doesn't matter.
matter what the 49ers do at running back, somebody's always getting hurt.
Jordan Mason, he was the guy who was getting the run after Elijah Mitchell went out.
Tery and Davis Price could be involved here.
This is more of a speculative ad though, Tom.
There are a lot of roadblocks.
And then there's also the fact that if you're the 49ers starting running back,
you're going to get hurt, apparently.
That's just part of the deal.
Yeah, we'll see about McCaffrey's status here this week.
that's a we'll follow it here. It sounds like he has got some knee tenderness. They've been
limiting his snaps a little bit. So maybe I could clear the runway here for one of these
rookie backs to get eight to ten carries per week moving forward because it looks like Mitchell's
essentially going to be done through the regular season here. I think they called it a 68 week
injury again. It sounds like a very similar injury that he had, but this is to his other knee this time.
Mason has been working ahead of Tyrion Davis-Price, but I also wouldn't be surprised if
Tyrion Davis-Price gets some run.
I think a lot of the reason why Mason is active on game day is because he does a lot more
in special teams.
Special teams.
Yeah, this is kind of a bit of a headache here.
We'll see who kind of emerges, but Jordan Mason, dating back to the training camp,
it seems like they've been higher on him, even though Tyrion Davis-Price has, you know,
had the third round, third round draft capital, but they've seemed to lean towards Mason here.
But we'll keep an eye on the reports. We'll keep an eye on Christian McCaffrey status.
We'll continue to update the waiver wire throughout the week here, taking on more of a,
we're going to continue. We've decided to do more updates throughout the week. So this is a
situation. I'll be continuing to monitor here through Friday and Saturday,
leaving up to the games.
And one, just one more. And Tom, this is, this is.
This is just a winging him. Okay, two more. Well, let's start with Zemir White. Josh Jacobs has picked up a couple of injuries, but of course, he still ripped off an 86-yard touchdown run at the end of that at the end of that Raiders game. Maybe he stiffens up here throughout the week, but Zemir White might just be somebody to watch here. I don't think that that is far beyond the other options that we've mentioned so far to me, unless, of course, Zemir White does miss time. Yeah. Josh Jacobs. Yeah. This is a this is a this is a, this is a, this is a
We talk about handcuffing at this point of a year.
This is speculative.
We'll see what Josh Jacobs's status is, but he has been taken on a lot of work this year.
I think he's up at like 18 touches or more in seven or eight straight games here.
Of course, the big workload last week, even though he was added to the injury report on Friday with an ankle injury.
He also left for a small stretch of that game, was given a questionable tag to return.
with a calf injury. So that could be related to the ankle. So just, they're starting, there's things,
there's a little bit of, there's a few cracks with Josh Jacobs right now. Certainly, there's been no cracks
with his play on the field. He's one of the top fantasy running backs that we've had this year. But
there's a chance that this team is going nowhere. And if he's banged up, you know, it's the,
if the injuries start to mount too much here that they could rest him for a week or two. So,
So I think Zemir White would kind of be that guy.
But it's not like he's a slam dunk.
He's just going to take over all the work that Josh Jacobs left behind.
They still, they were working Amir Abdullah in a little bit last week.
They also still have Brandon Bolden.
So he would be a lesser Josh Jacobs.
He would at least get most of the running game work if Josh Jacobs misses any time moving forward here.
And the other back, I'm guessing you're going to mention is James Cook?
No, we got to talk about the.
the Steelers situation coming out of
Oh, of course, of course. Yeah, this is a big one because Jalen Warren, I think could be the top ad this week.
But we have to, we have to see if he's going to be healthy enough to play.
He picked up a hamstring injury, you know, right when it looked like he might start to emerge a little bit next to Naji.
Mike Tomlin downplayed the injury last week.
But he also kind of said, yeah, there's probably a chance he doesn't play in week 12.
But now we have the quick turnaround.
There was three practices where he did not participate,
and those practices went up all the way to Saturday.
So we get the reduced schedule here for the Steelers moving into their matchup with the Falcons.
So I still think Warren is probably the guy I'd rather pick up over Benny Snell.
Just on the off chance that Warren does practice this week and is ready to play,
I think there's a better chance that he takes on a.
Belcal role where he gets, you know, most of the rushing and receiving production.
If Warren isn't able to play, though, I think we're going to get kind of what we got last night.
Benny Snell kind of taken most of the running game work with Anthony McFarland working in passing
situation. So it's a bit of a headache here. We'll see Mike Tomlin always talks at noon on
Tuesday. So that's going to be after this podcast after we tape this. So, you know,
Pay attention to what maybe, you know, maybe Tomlin will give us a little bit of, he sometimes gives us a little bit in terms of injury news. So maybe we'll see, maybe we'll find out if he at least thinks that Jalen Warren will practice this week starting on Wednesday. So that is something to keep an eye on because, you know, if it looks like Nogie is going to be out a game or two. And if Warren is going to be able to get back into the lineup, I think he's probably the top ad off the waiver wire this week.
Looking at wide receiver, Tom, it is rough.
There's nothing here. Zay Jones is coming off a huge game, but career high receiving yards,
but Christian Kirk actually had a tough matchup in that game with Marlon Humphrey moving
into the slot.
Jameson Williams, I just don't know, Tom.
He might not be ready this week.
I would be stunned if Jameson Williams is like a fantasy option here.
Anything the Lions get out of Jameson Williams is a bonus for the Lions right now.
Anything else that stands out to you at Wide Receiver, if you're dying here, maybe Elijah Moore.
He did have the long catch with Mike White, who will get to.
It's brutal out there at wide receiver.
Yeah, I'm still sticking away, staying away from the Jets receivers that aren't named Garrett Wilson.
Moore still had a pretty small role.
It was only a 35% snap share.
So it's like they still, they're working breath.
and Barrios in their work in Denzel Mems. It's like a big four-man rotation between those receivers
behind Garrett Wilson. I'll hit a couple, you know, real quick here, maybe one week, one or two
week. Isaiah McKenzie, I think,'s trending up here. He's been widely dropped, but his snapshares
have grown for four straight weeks. And he's, you know, of course coming off that big game on
Thanksgiving Day where he, you know, he was the number one receiver for the Buffalo Bills here in. So I think he's
trending in the right direction. He had a rough beginning of the season. He had a few,
that Chiefs game stands out. He had a fumble in it and a couple of bad drops.
But maybe he's starting to turn a corner where he was a guy that the industry was, you know,
kind of excited about that he could maybe take over the slot role. He plays the Patriots this
week. He had his best career game in the NFL against the Patriots at the end of last year.
So maybe he can, you know, parlay that success into some more success here against the
treats on Thursday night football.
And yeah, this is pretty rough here.
I don't know where else you can really get the help here.
Richie James is a guy that is going to have a big role out of the slot for the Giants moving
forward.
But most of his production came really late in that Thanksgiving game.
Van Jefferson, you know, we touched on Kyra Williams, how this offense has fallen apart.
Van Jefferson is now like the de facto number one wide receiver for the Rams.
I don't know how much that's going to mean.
but Jefferson is at least like trending up in the right direction.
He scored a couple of touchdowns here in the last couple of weeks.
So he might be the number one receiver here for the Rams moving forward.
So if you want to deal with that crap, you know, Jefferson,
maybe he can to see enough work that maybe he gets into that wide receiver three conversation
because they have nothing else right now.
I'm not even going to mention the tight end position.
It is so bad.
I guess I just did, but screw it.
There's nobody to talk about.
It's the same crap we talk about every week,
and you always pick the wrong one.
Check out Dom Cinerino's tight-end streaming article up at FantasyPoints.com.
Two quarterbacks to mention, Tom, both in the AFC East.
Mack Jones and Mike White.
Mac Jones is coming off maybe the best game of his career on Thanksgiving night against Minnesota,
and Mike White continues to get it done.
Does have a tough couple of matchups coming up, though.
But the jets are loaded.
it. And Zach Wilson was doing absolutely nothing. Mike White is actually putting numbers on the board.
Yeah, well, we'll hit Mac first. They have a nice little stretch of games here. They play Buffalo,
Arizona, Las Vegas and Cincinnati. So I think four of those games could potentially be shootouts here,
as we kind of saw last week. And I'll note that Damien Harris picked up a thigh injury. So they might be
more ass-heavy here. Moving forward, Ramondri Stevenson has been a fantasy god, but he's,
He's been a fantasy god because of his receiving production.
He's actually struggled a little bit on the ground over the last month.
So maybe with Mack's progression here, he looks healthy.
He's got a pretty full cast of receivers.
Ramondri Stevenson's in the backfield.
Got four matchups here this week over the next month that kind of lend itself to a little bit more passing.
So, you know, we're looking for this is QB2 leagues type of help here.
Maybe he can start to be a little bit of a different.
make her down the stretch.
But as you said, Mike White is kind of the guy that everybody's talking about after he scores
basically 25 fantasy points against that putrid Chicago Bears defense.
But we touched on it.
Garrett Wilson is a stud.
He has four, you know, solid NFL receivers behind him, you know, with Elijah Moore,
Denzel Mams, Corey Davis, and Braxton Barrios.
I mean, Tyler Conklin's had some moments.
C.J. Usomas, you know, a pretty.
solid pro. So the cupboard is completely full here to have some success moving forward with this
passing game. We saw Minnesota get into a shootout last week with the Patriots. Maybe the Jets
can get into a little bit of a shootout here. So he's certainly trending up here. I think he's
at least secured the job for the next couple of weeks. They're certainly not turning back to Zach Wilson.
It appears, you know, if anything happens, I think it would go back to Joe Flacko, who opened this season as a
starter, but White is, he took a full advantage of his castor receivers last week. We've seen
them do it a little bit last year as well. He also had a couple duds there last year, too.
But the one thing I can say about White is he's pretty decisive. He gets the, he's not going to
pitter-patter in the pocket. And we like aggressive quarterbacks. And especially if your
league doesn't dock you for interceptions, which was a little bit of an issue for him last year. But
The sample that we've gotten over the last two years is that he could be a fringe low-end QB-1 if he continues to throw it a lot.
Well, Tom, we made it through the podcast.
So I'm going to say that we've, this is a win right now.
We've made it through the podcast.
It hasn't stopped recording.
So that's what, hey, a win for us, which we didn't get on Monday.
Nice clean 25 minutes here.
Tebrough, it's been, it's the home stretch, man.
That's where we're at right now.
We have two teams on buy next week.
We've got six teams on buy in week four.
Oh, come on.
Like, they couldn't even, like, give us, like, four and four.
I mean, I get the, uh, I don't mind the later buys, but it's getting into week 14.
I know they want to have the full schedule for Thanksgiving week, you know,
because they have the three Thursday games.
So they don't want to be too thin on Thanksgiving weekend on the Sunday.
But, man, I wish we could spread it out.
little better. So next week's waiver wire, I feel like, might be one of the most important that
that we've ever faced in the fantasy world just because six teams on by. And that could be,
that could be the start of the playoffs for some leagues that are in some really deep formats.
And maybe they don't want to play week 17. I hope to God that your week's, your playoffs start
in week 15. But we'll help you out if they are starting in week 14. It's going to be a very
important waiver wire next week.
