It's time for the Fantasy Points podcast brought to you by FantasyPoints.com.
Top level fantasy football and NFL betting analysis from every perspective and angle,
from numbers to the film room, with a single goal to help you score more fantasy points.
15 of the 22 NFL season had everything.
And look, I know people love to complain about, oh, the level of play is bad.
and this and that and oh, I can't believe this team does this,
but this was one of those weeks, Tom,
where you kind of remember why you're a fan of this stupid sport.
Like, just everything happened.
You might end it up on the good end for fantasy.
You might end it up on the bad end for fantasy.
But it was just a wild, wild day in the NFL,
and we will get to the particulars.
Most notably the New England Patriots,
which I'm not sure how much that mattered for fantasy,
but it was indeed a hilarious play. Tom, just a wild day of football in week 15. And for fantasy football,
the season is coming to a close here. We're going to recap the week as best we can. We're going to
try to insert our fantasy opinions as best we can. But really, for a lot of these teams,
not a whole lot is changing at this stage. We just get to see these teams that whatever can be
defined as full strength right now, kind of butt their heads. And they're
a lot of teams in the mix for the playoffs as we go over the last couple of weeks.
Yeah, this is, we're getting down to it right now.
As you said, Joe, we had the greatest comeback, the largest comeback in NFL history.
We had a snow game on Saturday night.
We had the worst play in NFL history from the Patriots.
We had the best, you know, one of the best teams in the Chiefs going to overtime and barely
squeak out a win against the worst team in the NFL and the Texans.
The Jaguars come back from multiple scores down in the United States.
second half like what an insane day of football uh i'm excited to recap it um and hopefully your team
there's there was quite a few performances out there that uh really lifted guys like zay jones and
kirk cousins and we'll get into all of them here but uh it was an exciting week of NFL football
and football overall we have one of the greatest world cup finals on sunday morning as well yeah
that's right about that so just a great week weekend for football overall
Tom, you've got the electrician coming to your house. And that's going to be a problem because
it's going to knock out your internet. So we've got to get this podcast done probably within 45
minutes. So let's start and let's push forward and go to Thursday night's game, which feels like
a week and a half ago. The 49ers in the Seahawks. The 49ers take this one 21 to 13.
From a fantasy perspective, George Kittle comes back to life. Imagine being on the receiving end
of that. Christian McCaffrey has himself a massive game. Brock Purdy, continue.
to play decent football.
But the big news from this game, of course, is the injury to Tyler Lockett.
Yeah, he had surgery.
We'll see, it sounds like he's probably going to miss at least a game, potentially longer.
They're fighting for their playoff lives.
But, yeah, he's, he missed it.
He'll miss probably at least a game and maybe more.
That puts Marquis good one potentially in play for this week off of the waiver wire.
And the other notable thing was Kenneth Walker.
We got a ton of question
to him and Ramondry Stevenson this week.
Walker didn't do nearly as much as Ramondry,
but he had one of those lines where it's like,
hey, if you played them, you aren't pissed,
and if you benched them, you're not pissed.
So got to about 90 yards, didn't score,
but he got about 12 fantasy points.
So the bigger news is that he got through the game healthy,
had a pretty healthy workload.
Travis Homer had a pretty small role.
So I think we can use.
We're back to using Kenneth Walker with some confidence moving forward.
And it's notable that he has been involved in the passing game when they've been trailing,
which is important this week against the Chiefs.
There'll be 10 point underdogs in that game.
Yeah.
By the way, the 49ers, Debo Samuel, I doubt he's going to play this week.
I don't think we need to write them up.
Sanahan was saying at the beginning of last week that they're hoping three weeks.
So maybe an outside chance for weeks.
17. I doubt they push them back, especially after wrapping up the NFC West this week.
You know, they're in contention maybe for that number two seed, but not a lot of...
They are. Yeah, I know, but I'm saying they need Minnesota to trip up in front. You know,
they don't have a whole lot of upward mobility at this point. So I don't think there's any
reason for them to rush back Demo for this game. Speaking of Minnesota, there might have been
more of a reason for them to rush back Debo for the game if Minnesota didn't complete the
greatest comeback in the history of professional football. The Indianapolis cults, Tom, are a disaster.
I mean, this is, this is as bad as it gets. I mean, oh my, I mean, Matt Ryan, poor soul,
that look in his eyes, I just, I've seen it too much. Yeah, this is 33 point lead. I think,
I heard some people saying it was as high as nine.
to one the money line on the Vikings whenever the Colts were up 33 to nothing.
That sounds a little bit exaggerated.
But, yeah, so they just could not close out a lead.
Jonathan Taylor goes out on the first series of the game.
Sorry to anybody out there that had them.
I mean, what are you going to do?
Yeah, it's the ankle again.
Of course they have the two, like two premier matchups coming up against the Chargers
and Giants in the next.
two weeks. But they're, you know, this is, we've been dealing with these ankle issues all season
long with Jonathan Taylor. So there's, there's probably a chance that they, they shut them down at this
point. So Ian Rappaport reported this morning that, uh, it was a high ankle sprain. And it's highly
unlikely that he'll play again this season with the lost season. Um, that means Zach Moss and
Dion Jackson time. I mean, Zach Moss was like, we talked about this on the live stream. He was kind of
the guy. Yeah.
Like, I mean, they have to be picked up these guys, right?
Yeah.
But now it's a two-man backfield.
They're going to evaluate Moss.
I could even see them elevating Jordan Wilkins as well and throwing him in the mix.
Oh, God.
I'll, you know, this is waiver wire more.
But, I mean, Moss, I think, is the priority guy out of these guys.
He saw 67% of the snaps.
They're evaluate.
They traded for him in that Naim Hines deal.
They want to get a look at him to see if he's actually their backup
up running back next year. So, yeah, I think Moss is the way we got to turn here in this backfield.
Tom, I want to, because Minnesota is the same team every week, right?
Yeah, we never write anybody up for the waiver or for, for market report unless somebody gets
hurt and nobody did get hurt in this game. I will say this, Jalen Riker is apocchola.
He is so bad. He single-handedly kept the Colts alive there with that on that late
interception. He just stopped running the route. And, yeah, that was that was, that was,
But yeah, I mean, these other guys, I mean, they all came through Jefferson.
Everybody could see that coming, the garbage time production.
Although it looked like maybe it was going to get too ugly and they were going to bench guys.
But they started their charge in the second half there.
And everybody pretty much got home except for T.J. Hawkinson.
Who saw nine targets and can only get three catches.
But we're still not concerned about him.
So I want to bring this up because I saw it yesterday morning.
and Ryan McDowell from Dynasty League football
retweeted a person
and it was an idea that this person had for setting lineups
and I thought it was interesting.
It's kind of modified best ball.
Okay.
He said essentially you can set a lineup.
Like let's just say your lineup is two running backs,
three wide receivers, a tight end, a few flexes, right?
Okay.
He said that to prevent, like, you know, like, if you had Jonathan Taylor, you just got
shit luck.
That's what you got.
I think I kind of know where you're going.
We kind of do this with golf.
And he said, right, essentially, you have, like, you can have two or three alternate
players, and essentially they'll slot into a position if one of your guys gets hurt.
Yep.
And that's a golf thing.
I'm in golf things.
If a guy withdrawals in the first two days of the tournament or he
DQs or whatever, you have a first alternate who comes in and slots into that position.
I love that.
I mean, I think that's a great idea.
Maybe you have one running back, maybe one wide receiver.
Yeah, I kind of like that.
And he also said there could be a strategy to it because like if it's a superflex dynasty,
say, and you only have a limited amount of spot.
to fill, you have to decide, am I going to put a backup quarterback in?
Or is my running back more likely to get hurt?
So, like, there is still strategy to do with that.
I don't know if any of the platforms we play on can accomplish that.
But I do like that idea.
And I'm almost wondering if I can create a league where, you know,
because you still have the element of decision making.
You still have the tinkering, the lineup decisions to make.
But it's, but one injury like Jonathan Taylor isn't going to kill you.
Yeah, I kind of like that.
I think you also have to come up with parameters for that, too, though, because, you know,
if Jonathan Taylor has a shitty game and then he gets injured at the end of the third quarter,
like, I don't think that's a, like, it almost has to be like an injury that knocks you out in the first quarter.
You know, if you don't play a snap after the first quarter, you could, there would have to be some parameters to it.
But I do love that.
I love it for Gaul.
I mean, that's a, you know, and there has been, like, talk like maybe.
Well, golf is also different because guys don't have to report injuries in golf, which is ridiculous, given the fantasy and gambling, you know.
implications.
Yeah, so I'm all for that.
I think that's, I just don't know how these fantasy sites would implement it,
but that's very fascinating.
I think it would be kind of a best ball element, essentially.
Yeah.
Like, which, yeah, we'll see going forward.
Baltimore at Cleveland, I mean, of the great games on Saturday,
this was not one of them.
Baltimore has no offensive talent whatsoever outside of Mark Andrews.
I mean, it is.
And Mark Andrews is not playing well either.
He's dropping passes.
It's kind of on him a little bit, too.
He had a couple bad drops in recent weeks here.
And he just doesn't look like the same guy he was last year as well.
So we'll keep an eye on Lamar Jackson this week.
They keep saying that he'll be back.
Hasn't practiced yet.
So I'm at least a little bit skeptical.
I mean, Tyler Huntley isn't it, though?
I mean, that was pretty rough.
They were having some success running the ball.
And for whatever reason,
they were throwing it a little too much,
even when that game was still close.
I still don't know if J.K. Dobbins looks great,
but he's producing, Tom.
Exactly.
I mean, so I have to move him up.
Yeah, I think he's enough because he's coming up with numbers.
I don't think he's looked explosive,
but he's coming through for fantasy here at this point.
and he's kind of taken this backfield, although I think it's still kind of a hot hand that they're using,
but he's gotten a hot hand in recent weeks.
Cleveland, this offense is bad with Sean Watson.
Like, I mean, 4.4 yards per play.
This is now three straight games where they haven't been a quality NFL offense, quite frankly, Tom.
I mean, People's Jones is coming through, but the only player on this team outside of the quarterback,
who top 10 fantasy points, was People's Jones.
Yeah, Chob couldn't get home, even with all the carries at the end of the game.
I actually had a Deshaun Watson over 17 and a half completions.
I don't think he had, he got it, he got to 18, but I don't think he had a completion in the final like 20 to 25 minutes of that game.
So I would have been on full blast.
I would have been tilting like no other if the prop had been 18 and a half completions.
But they weren't really, I mean, this was just an awful.
awful game. The Ravens had no offensive
juice, so they had no reason to really push it either in the second
half. The Ravens averaged nearly a full yard per play more than the
Browns. Yeah, I know, and they missed the, I mean, Justin Tucker missed two
field goals, which never happened. So, I mean, they were playing with
multiple score lead and wasn't going to put it in Deshaun Watson's hand to
do much in the final quarter. So just an overall awful game.
Let's move on to something that was a little bit.
Let's move on to Miami and Buffalo, which was a little bit better.
Two of the numbers were there, but apparently had a negative EPA throwing the ball in this game.
I mean, it is what Miami is what it is at this point.
I guess I'm going to have to move Ricky Moster up because Jeff Wilson's hurt,
and Rahim Mosterts getting it done right now.
Yeah, we'll have to monitor Wilson's injury.
I would think he's back, though, and I wouldn't get too excited about Mostert up.
All right, well, then I'll watch Wilson.
Yeah, I would watch those guys.
I think maybe Mostert has the edge now, but, you know, I think McDaniel's going to kind of use
these guys interchangeably.
So maybe Moster has the slate advantage for now.
But, you know, Wilson was, you know, he went down to the wire there.
People were monitoring his status.
So I would expect him to be back in the line up this week.
So, yeah, I mean, with Miami, again, almost like a Minnesota team, like the entire
production of the passing game. We'll get to that with Philadelphia with Waddle and Hill.
Yeah, I mean, that's the same thing every week here. So, no new news on the Miami side outside of
the running pack position. I think maybe, I don't know if we're looking, maybe we can write up to
it here. Maybe he, this was a little bit of a bounce back performance, but he certainly does have
luck on his side. He has quite a few passes that bounce off of defender's hands. As a Steelers fan,
you know, back on that Sunday night game, they should have had about four or five
interceptions and the bills certainly had their opportunities.
I couldn't capitalize on a couple of those.
But I think Tua maybe is at least a slight up here because it was looking ugly there
for two straight weeks against the Chargers and 49ers.
And to do this in conditions against a pretty formidable Bill's defense is at least a positive.
You can throw them into a lineup here in week 16 and 17.
The Buffalo, I mean, Josh Allen.
We moved Josh Allen down last week, so we got to move them up this week.
That was vintage Josh Allen, like vintage.
So, I mean, if Josh Allen is starting to come alive here for the playoff stretch, boy, it could not happen at a better time for your fantasy team.
Yeah, it coincided.
We had Dawson Knox finally do something.
He just needs one of these second.
I think a lot of this, obviously, I think he might be playing through a little something, but.
I think it really comes down to me.
He just needs one of these secondary receivers,
just a step up every week.
This week it was not.
McHenzy did it a couple weeks ago,
but there's been nobody consistent.
Gabe Davis, I mean, he's a guy.
I mean, people have been asking if they can drop him.
Like, yeah, you're not going to use him with any confidence right now
in the fantasy playoffs.
So I think a lot of it just comes down to just needs that second mouth
that he has some kind of confidence in.
Might be why they brought in Cole Beasley.
he caught pass in this game.
But, yeah, at least he got back to what we had seen earlier in the season.
It was about a three or four week cold stretch there with Alan where we were wondering if he
would ever get back to the heights that he was at at the beginning of the season.
This backfield sucks.
I know.
Like, you play James Cook and he gets six yards.
You don't play him and he's on the receiving end of Josh Allen running around for 45 seconds.
That was literally, that might have been the most ridiculous play of the weekend.
I mean, it was so bad in so many ways.
He ran out the entire remaining clock.
They wouldn't have gotten any points at that pass was incomplete or he ran out, you know,
he stepped out of bounds as he was about to throw up.
But Josh Allen, did Josh Allen things, found the guy, you know, James Cook catches it and they get six points out of it.
So it would, that is everything a coach.
They had to be like, what do you do?
Oh, there's Josh Allen.
doing what Josh Allen does best, and extending the play and scoring a touchdown.
And, I mean, that ended up being the difference in the game, a three point game.
They went from potentially having zero points to having six.
And that was the difference in the game, that play at the end of the first half.
Steelers and the Panthers.
Tom, what did you see from this game?
Not much.
I'll throw it to you, yeah.
I mean, if Mitch Trabisky starts again, I think it's going to be probably picking.
at this week. It's sounded like he was close to returning and they're kind of looking out for the
rookie. But Deontay Johnson is just gets fed with Mitch Trubisky. He, his five best fantasy games have all come
with Mitch Trubisky at this point. I know a lot of people. We got to write up Friarmoot. I don't
think we really need it right up Yonthe at this point. He can't sport touchdown anyway.
Sorry. I know you like Friamont. I was a little more skeptical than you were on the live stream.
Well, I mean, it was like Friarmooth or like some dick smacks and I'm going to choose Friarmooth who's
come through most weeks, but no targets. No targets. I mean, it was 22 pass attempts.
Didn't expect that. And when Deonti Johnson, I mean, that was vintage Deonti Johnson. That's the best
he's looked all season. And when he's getting open every play, he's just going to get fed. And
that's what we've seen in years past. Hasn't necessarily been like that this year. But when almost
you know, 45% of the targets are going to one guy, it's going to kill Friar.
So it's it's a confluence of things though.
They're also running the ball a lot better in recent weeks.
Noddy looked really good.
Zach Gentry has been playing a lot more because of that.
So it's a far removed.
Yeah, this is it's a bit of an ugly.
Another ugly situation at the tight end position.
This let's go.
Yeah, we just running backs like for Carolina.
Yeah, this is the this is the downside to playing Deonté Foreman.
Like if their running game gets.
He does nothing in the passing game.
And, yeah.
So, yeah, this was, this is the downside to Deonté Foreman because he does nothing else,
but get a lot of carries.
So, Deont, right, and they play the Lions next week.
Yeah, who've been really good against the run for basically the last five or six weeks.
They, they were kind of a sieve early in the season.
You know, we were starting our guys against, you know, fire them up.
But the last five or six weeks, I mean, we'll get to that game in a little bit.
but Zonovan Knight got absolutely ate up by that,
eaten up by that Lions run defense.
So Foreman is certainly trending down if we want to write anything from this.
Yeah, I'm going to say Foreman.
Like, he doesn't catch passes.
Yeah, just he doesn't get passes.
He doesn't score touchdown, basically.
He doesn't score touch them.
Yeah, and they're one of the league's worst offenses.
So good luck if you're playing with Deonté Foreman,
because he's got a score touchdown.
Yeah.
Okay.
Let's move to Philadelphia and Chicago.
I mean, this was kind of a weird game for the Eagles.
Jalen Hertz made, I mean, you can count on one hand,
how many like truly awful decisions he's made this year.
And his first interception was one of them,
just running around, throwing the ball up in the air.
Thought the second interception, the first time he's been picked off twice this year.
I thought might have been on Kwez Watkins.
It was one of those, did he stop running the route?
Quest Watkins was freaking terrible in that game, by the way,
and they force-fed him touches.
Look at, look at his box.
Yeah, six targets of four catches and six yards.
Throw a long-
Who carries for four yards, and they force-fed him touches.
Hey, he totaled, yeah, he got a grand total of ten scrimmage yards
on eight different opportunities.
That's not a great average if you, you bear it out there.
but hurts shakiest performance but he still gets it done for our purposes he gets those two short
one yard i mean the most indefensible play in the leg jalen hurts with those those those legs that can
squat 600 pounds he just powering through for that you i mean that's he's getting a yard every time
on that play there's just almost absolutely nothing a defense can do so even even with a slightly
down performance early in the game he still comes to
through with one of the best fantasy weeks.
Thanks.
I mean, was he the QB one?
I mean, Alan was had to be up there.
Alan was.
Okay, yeah, it was pretty close.
The two interception probably heard him.
But not much else to say here on the Eagles.
I guess we'll continue to watch Dallas Goddard here.
That was kind of a mild surprise on Saturday.
All expectations, and even from the beat, were that he was going to play this week.
Yeah, and I think they just decided to hold them out and say, hey, we can probably beat Chicago
without him. So Goddard is the guy I'm going to, I'm going to watch. I presume he's going to play this
week. Now, here's the other thing for the Eagles, though. They don't need, I mean, they're virtually
locked into the one seed. This game against Dallas, like, it's a rivalry game. But as long as the
Eagles win one more game, they're the one seed. So this game is almost kind of meaningless.
Yeah, it's kind of reflected in the line. I think they're one and a half point underdogs in this game
with the Cowboys, even though the Cowboys are sliding here a little bit in the last two weeks.
Dak Prescott's been horrible.
We'll get to that game soon enough.
But at the very least, maybe they're thinking,
maybe the, I mean, because the Eagles want to win that game,
but maybe they don't show everything that they have to show.
Because they might be playing them a little bit later in January when things might matter a little bit more.
Yeah.
On Chicago side, David Montgomery,
continuing to get it done.
But, uh,
yeah,
um,
he might need to be a watch,
though,
because Kaleel.
Because they could bring Kaleel Herbert.
Yeah,
Kalil Herbert should be back this week.
He's,
this is the first week he's eligible.
Put him up relatively high on the,
um,
on the waiver wire report.
He was,
he was getting a lot of work before that injury.
So,
um,
you know,
I don't think,
you know,
I don't know if Herbert's going to jump right back into his role that he had previously,
but he's going to get more work than these,
You know, Derrotton Evans had two carries.
Tristan Ebner, one, part.
You know, those guys have been non-factors here in recent weeks.
I would expect Herbert to get a few more touches than those guys if he's activated this week.
We'll see, we really haven't heard a whole lot about it, but it seemed like he was trending towards coming back in week 16.
Yeah.
Let's go to Kansas City and Houston.
Just, I mean, just for accounting purposes, Damien Pierce is on IR.
the season's over. So we'll put him there.
Jerich McKinnon, man. This is like what? Back-to-back weeks is the RB1?
Unreal. I mean, they'd have to keep going to them, don't they?
I think we saw this down the stretch last year, too. Final weeks of the season,
in the postseason. He was kind of the guy that they trust the most and were leaning on.
Pacheco fumbled early in this game and got benched basically until the start of the second half.
They made them sit there and think about it for a few minutes in the second quarter, a few series in the second quarter.
So, yeah, I think McKinnon, I mean, Pacheco is going to still have his role.
He's going to get his carries.
But this is kind of how the backfield looked last year at the end of the year with Clyde Edwards-Hillera kind of in the Pacheco role.
And McKinnon just continuing to get more and more work, getting valuable touches down by the goal line, getting valuable touches in the passing game.
He's the guy.
and he's absolutely exploded.
He was a waiver wire guy just about two or three weeks ago,
and now he's a must start as a RP2.
He's a must start.
I picked him up off the freaking scrap heap in our dynasty league.
Yeah, I mean,
like unbelievable.
I mean, he was a guy, literally,
I think I wrote up for basically the first 14 weeks of the season.
Hey, this guy has some standalone value if you're really searching for help.
And then the last couple of weeks,
he's really emerged as the,
the go-to guy in the backfield.
All right.
Let's move,
let's,
I don't care about Houston.
No, fuck no.
Dallas and Jacksonville.
Just, the thing for Dallas is, you know,
like, I heard the,
I heard the radio call for Dallas,
because we went to it live at the end of that game.
And, you know, the answer was like,
that can't happen.
That can't happen at the end of the game.
And, you know, I thought he was referencing
Dak Prescott throwing
the interception, which, yeah, true.
You can't, that can happen.
But the problem for this team now is C.D. Lamb is like the only reliable receiver.
I know Noah Brown scored two touchdowns, but he's had two interceptions go off his hands in the last
two weeks.
Yeah, he's, they're kind of trying to force feed him a little bit too.
And Dalton Schultz, I mean, how does he completely, another tight end that completely.
Yeah, like what the hell's happening?
Yeah, he was a no-show in the fantasy playoffs as well.
So something that he's been all over the map with his.
production. He was like Mr. Reliable in the middle of the field last year. You know, when the
going gets tough, throw it to him on third down to convert for first downs. And he just has been
all over the map with his production. And, you know, the Cowboys certainly know that they need help.
You know, they brought in T.Y. Hilton. James Washington is kind of in the mix again. But they're,
I mean, Michael Gallup has not been that guy. He had a couple flashes, but he's still
he still isn't the same guy that he was before his ACL injury.
The Cowboys resigning him and trading Amari Cooper is one of the dumbest decisions of the
off-season.
I mean, we've seen what Amari Cooper has done all season here.
He's hit a bit of a rough stretch the last two weeks because of injuries, but, and because of
Deshawn Watson.
Oh, but he's still a much better player than like that.
It's not even, they're not even in the same conversation.
So, especially with that, that's just, that is a gal that is a call on coming back off
ACL.
I mean, that was just, that's so dumb.
top. I mean, yeah, it's just such a horrible decision. I mean, I don't even think we got to write
anybody. Like, are we going to write up Dalton Schultz? I mean, like, no, I don't think we need to.
I mean, like, what do you do with Dalton Schultz? I think we kind of wrote up back last week.
Because he had six for 87 last week. Yeah. Yeah, you just said his production's all over the map.
Yeah. So, I mean, Dak's play has been, I mean, I think this is like 10 interceptions, eight or not. I think he had eight or nine coming into
yesterday. So I think he's up to like 10 interceptions in the last five or six games.
and he's not playing particularly well.
Yeah, it wasn't, the last interception was not on him.
No, but no, I don't think he's like, it's like, like, I mean, obviously he had the great drive against Houston last week.
But, I mean, that terrible interception in the red zone was why he had to have that great drive.
So he's been, he's been pretty mid this year, my opinion.
Yeah, he's definitely, he's floundering here.
He hasn't been quite the same.
Ever since he came back from that thumb injury, you have to wonder if that might be affecting him a little bit here.
in the second half of the season.
And the other side, though, Joe, how about that guy?
He's that guy, isn't he?
Oh, Lawrence.
Lawrence is up.
Yeah, I mean, I'm actually thinking he's going to be the cover boy for a market
report.
I think he should be.
I mean, this is three touchdown passes over 300 yards and three of his last four games.
Mr.
Mr. Fantasy playoffs here.
He's a guy here.
I mean, and it's helping.
It's lifting all tides here.
Zay Jones has become a thing.
Christian Kirk.
Kirk.
Yep.
I mean, Evan is Jones Waverwire?
Yeah, he's like one of those 55% in-owned guys.
I have no idea.
I look through some of my best ball teams and like some of the ones that advance
that have Zay Jones on them.
Oh, I love it.
Yeah, I, uh, I had, I was looking through like my best ball millionaire, the
Pomeranian, the puppy.
Like, I have like a 30% ownership thing on Zay Jones.
I was drafted him a lot at the end of drafts, especially when I had Trevor Lawrence
in like the 12th round there.
So I feel pretty good about that.
So, I mean, Lawrence is playing at the high level here.
This week, he'll get, he's got that Thursday night game against the Jets.
We'll see just how well he is playing.
But, yeah, he's a must start.
We shouldn't be getting any questions about him for the rest of the fantasy playoffs
unless you have an elite option above him.
Atlanta, New Orleans.
The less said about this game, the better.
Yeah, not much to talk about it.
Atlanta stinks.
Desmond Ritter was fucking terrible.
Yeah, he was true.
I bet he's over on his passing prop.
Just thinking like, God, nobody can be worse than Marcus Marriota.
And they'll probably have to throw it.
They'll probably want to throw it a little bit more with Ritter.
Nah, he was actually worse than Mariotas.
So, yeah, not a whole lot to talk about in this one.
Even on the, even on the Saints side, like.
Camaritz, like pool and teeth.
He got 23 touches, but he scored freaking what, 12,
fantasy points. Yeah, no. The receiving productions all dried up. Even Chris Alave, like,
they're, like, Rashid Shaheed played more snaps than him. He's been, like, a 60 snap guy.
He's like, uh, Friarmoot for the Steelers, like, the last like month or show of the season,
he's, he's like, lost a ton of snaps. So, yeah, well, like, what the hell is, like, maybe we can
do it on a lave down, but. Oh, yeah, he's down. He's like, there was a point where you couldn't bench him.
And now it's like, there's a lot of guys I'd start over him now. Yeah. And it's, it's, it's,
And it's, he's always right around like 55 to 60 yards, but yeah, he just hasn't scored recently.
Not a whole lot of receptions and now he's losing snaps.
So, yeah, he's, he's just like a low-end wide receiver, wide receiver three heading into the playoffs here.
Detroit and the Jets, the Lions in a tough matchup, come through.
Look, the three-man running back rotation was there for the Lions, but the best of them was DeAndre Swift.
And D'Andre Swift had one of those Kenneth Walker lines, Tom.
If you started them, you're probably not upset about it.
If you benched them, eh, 12.5 fantasy points, you know, not too bad.
Yeah, it's not too upset about my.
I just hate seeing these six carries for Justin Jackson to do nothing,
and he's getting a little bit of passing.
It's, it is what it is at this point, though.
It's not, you know, this has been the rotation for basically the last, you know,
since he came back from injury.
So no signs that it's actually going to change anytime soon.
And Jamal Williams, I mean, he's like a zero if he doesn't score a touchdown.
He hasn't scored a touchdown in the last couple of weeks.
Tough matchup against the Jets.
The Lions do get the Panthers next week who actually got run on a little bit by the Steelers, though.
So while we would consider that a tougher matchup, the Steelers did run on him a little bit.
Over on the Jets, Tom, Bam Knight, I mean, I'm not.
not to pat myself on the back, I'm pretty sure I called this one.
Like, Zach Wilson starting, the Lions Run defense has become really good recently.
And Bam Knight did absolutely nothing in this game.
And Zach Wilson, despite the production, remained terrible in that game.
Yeah, and that's the other thing to note.
We're going to get probably another Zach Wilson game.
Jags run defense is on the better side.
It's a top, top, it's much better against the run than it is the past.
And we've seen it the last two years
that Zach Wilson will not throw to his running backs.
No catches for Zonovan Knight.
One target for Michael Carter.
So Zonovan Knight, it was a fun ride for a couple weeks.
But while Zach Wilson's in the lineup,
especially with a run defense like the Jaguars,
I mean, he's fringe flex guy at this point in this match,
at least for this week in this matchup while Zach Wilson's still in the lineup.
Oh, and by the way, the target for Michael Carter.
Did you see it?
The throwing the ball straight up in the air and...
Yeah, throwing the ball straight up in the air
and Michael Carter happens to run under it.
That's what Michael Carter's target was.
Yeah, there was a couple of those type of balls from Zach Wilson.
Luckily, a lot of his guys were on the receiving end.
If somebody had the Lions, you know, getting a point or two,
watching that game, I'm just like, how are the Jets staying in this game?
This goddamn defense is so damn good.
but, you know, Zach Wilson was just throwing up the prayers, just hoping they would be answered.
And they kept getting answered for the most part until the end of the game there.
So it was, I don't know if we need to write up Garrett Wilson or anything, but it was at least nice to see they were taking some downfield shots to him.
And he ended up coming through.
Yeah, I don't think we do.
Like, if I have guys, if I have too many guys on watch list, like, if I'm watching a guy, it's going to be because of injury, like at this point.
Yeah, it's not like he's down because they do get the judge.
Jaguars this week, and he's still got the ball.
So, yeah, he's a guy.
We're not feeling great.
The Zach Wilson's in the lineup with him, but he's a guy that still needs to be in your
fantasy lineups, most likely, especially with the Jaguars match.
Arizona and Denver, Hopkins and Hollywood, down if Colt McCoy can't play.
Yeah.
Maybe even if Colt McCoy can.
Yeah, concussion for him.
Trace McSorley as the, our guy, Trace McSorley.
Our guy.
Yeah, he was up there.
Much better in Penn State Kellers than probably being your NFL quarterback, though.
So, yeah, this is a downgrade for both Hopkins and, I mean, Marquis.
I'm like, he was a sit guy for me going into this game.
And he might be a sit guy the rest of the season if Col McCoy doesn't get back.
So, yeah, this is just an ugly situation in Arizona.
Have you been watching the hard knocks, though, Joe?
It's been entertaining.
Oh, no, I've got to.
I definitely have to do that.
It's entertaining. There's a lot going on out there.
Yeah. I definitely got to get on that. Maybe I'll start it tonight.
Yeah, it's worth of watch. Over on the Denver side, Russell Wilson's going to play this week.
I don't like, again, I don't even know, like, if that matters, like, if you were to tell me, if you were to cross off Brett Rippin's name from this line, 21 for 26 for 197, a touchdown and a pick.
Yeah, that's. And you put Russell Wilson 22 on there. And I'm like, yeah, that sounds about right.
Yeah, I mean, he did, he did basically his best Russell Wilson impression and, uh, Jerry Tootie.
still got his so we can have some confidence if uh you know if ripping whatever start again he'll
at least feed his top wide receiver but yeah nothing to really talk about you know what this team's
going to do what's that they're going to run the hell out of the ball because latavis murray looks good
yeah and then marlin mac has looked decent coming back too yeah i mean marlin mac you know you see a guy
out there and then you realize like oh why does this game even matter well matters to a guy like marlin
mac oh absolutely yeah he's been playing for his NFL career for the last two years so yeah i totally
agree and yeah and that's and latavius murray is the same boat like he's he's looking for that one more
contract yeah latavius murray's like shit like if i'm playing this i yeah i'm 32 for a running back
but if i'm playing this well i'm gonna i'm gonna bag another two million dollars next year for a team
that loses a running back in training exactly we saw him make that decision earlier this year
the saint he had the option to stick with the saints he's like now i'm gonna go to denver after
the jimante williams injury and he made the right call yeah it's unbelievable he's he's like a
fantasy thing here down the stretch.
He would have thought.
New England and Vegas.
Oh, God.
Oh, Tom.
For Jacobi Myers.
Oh, I did have him in a matchup with our buddy John.
And we're battling for the last spot in the auction league.
And I have Jacobi Myers.
And that was an unfortunate.
I probably wasn't going to win anyway because I ended up having Antonio Gibson
as a guy last night and he did nothing.
but I was, but I was, I was, I was still chuckling.
I mean, that, I, I just, I still can't believe.
I, like, I couldn't do anything for like five minutes after that play.
I, I couldn't believe what I saw.
Were you on the air still?
You had to be off.
No, I was not.
I was not.
I was looking to make dinner.
And I'm like, ah, you know, let's check this out.
Because I got remandre in a couple of places, you know.
And I'm thinking, oh, this is going to go to overtime.
and then I see Ramondre rip off that run and I'm like oh my god he might score and then he threw it backwards and I'm like what are you doing but it was to Myers who was directly behind him and then Myers oh boy oh Jacoby yeah
um um top I have not turned it on yet I know like there there is it still entertains me I know there's a little a lot of people like to hate listen to Bill Simmons oh I am going to unironically love this podcast
him and cousins.
Oh, Sal, you think he'll be sick of it?
Oh, I'm sure he'll be measured and methodical as well.
About the cowboys.
Yeah.
Oh, just classic.
But, yeah.
Oh, I can't meet that podcast.
Other than that.
As a matter of fact, let's just listen to that one.
Yeah, okay.
Obviously, I think Remandre's an op here.
We had questions if he was going to be healthy, how much he'd play.
And I think he handled.
Oh, yeah, he's up.
But I have to say, like, I don't think he looked particularly healthy,
but he was still ripping off long.
long chunk gains.
And, uh, but so yeah, he's up for sure.
And every, I mean, Mac Jones, oh my God, is he awful.
And Matt Patricia's awful too.
Holy crap.
Oh, yeah.
And like, you, if you're going to save Mac Jones, you've got to get rid of Matt
Patricia tomorrow.
Like, I mean, and by the way, this receiving core also sticks.
Oh, I know, Nelson Aguilar, you know, give it, we gave him a tepid endorsement
on the waiver wire.
Hey, if you're really hurting for a guy, you know, six targets, one Kempelor.
for three yards. Just completely awful. So, yeah, you can't trust anybody in this passing game. You can't
trust anybody in this offense outside of Ramondri Stevenson right now. By the way, on the Raider side,
I'm going to do a tepid upgrade for Darren Wall. Yeah, we scored a touchdown. He was, we'll have to
say, he was splitting snaps with Foster Moreau. I, you know, I don't know if it's going to necessarily
continue. They probably wanted to ease him back into action. Oh, I'm sure. With the state of the
tight-end position. Yeah, he's a guy. He's in your lineup, even if he is splitting the snaps with Foster Moreau.
You know, he showed a little bit of his upside there with the touchdown catch. But yeah, he's, he's the one guy from the Raider side that probably should be right now.
I'm not even sure we need to write anybody up from the Titans in the Chargers game.
Well, the Titans, there's only one guy. So, you know, he's the same thing. And my boy, Chigaconkwo.
We do need to write up Beckler. You can give me this one because I did write up Joshua Keller for the waiver wire.
He picked up that, look, they were talking like it was a shoulder injury.
Yeah, I thought it was like a forearm or something.
Yeah.
But that was just based on my eyeballs.
So, yeah, we probably have to watch that to see if he pops up on the injury report.
You know, it was notable.
He only, yeah, three targets and only two catches after, you know, really getting, you know,
and he's heavily involved in the passing game every week.
Titans, you look at the numbers, they give up, you know,
they're a top five team in terms of giving up catches to the position.
So I think it is something to monitor.
But other than that, I mean, Mike Williams,
it was kind of quiet there until the big play at the end came through.
I think Graham had the over on the receiving yards for him.
So a nice late cash on that one.
How about that was such a seed by Justin Herbert.
I mean, rolling out to his right, Tom, if you watch the play again,
now I noticed this live, but if you watch the play again,
you're going to want to watch it again and again.
The sound of it hitting Williams in the hands or the chest or whatever sounds like a fastball hit.
I think I did notice that on the, when it was happening a lot.
Like you could hear the thought because it's, you know, they're playing in Los Angeles.
They have no fans out there.
There's no, there's no noise in that stadium.
Even the catch by Mike Williams, though.
I mean, that was, you know, to have the balance and the, you know, the sideline awareness to get both feet down.
That was just a special play by both of those guys.
So, yeah, it's finally nice to see it happening here.
Chargers are a team I would not be, I would not want to face them in the playoffs here.
We might get this match up again in the first round.
And I will be taking the Chargers on the road against the Titans if that does material dies.
We'll see if the Titans, even when the AFC South, the Jaguars are starting to put the first.
Yeah, the Jaguars are playing better than them.
Based on 538 projections, by the way, T, bro.
Yeah.
That is like 5743 right now.
Oh, okay. Like, the Jaguars are live. Like, they are, they are live, live.
I was watching a little bit of the NBC pregame while I was working last night. And I think they were only giving them like 32%. I'm like, geez, that seems awfully low for how bad the Titans are playing and how well the Jaguars are playing.
Yeah, I'm guessing the 538 does some Nate Silver bullshit. I don't like, I don't know, I don't know if they get Rasmussen in there. I really hope not. But there's this all analytical and stuff. And, but 43% sounds about.
right for that. I mean, they play the last week of the season. I think the Jaguars beat them
earlier this year. So as long as they stay within a game through, you know, week 16 and 17,
yeah, they'll have their chance. So I hope that material. I'm so tired of watching this Titans
team. I'd much rather watch the Jaguars in the playoffs. So I hope that does materialize.
Speaking of teams, I'm tired of watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, here's the problem, though,
which AFC South team would I prefer to watch over them?
None of them.
That's the problem.
So I want the Buccaneers in the playoffs.
But per 538's projections,
I was playing around with this all throughout yesterday's crazy slate, Tom.
This game was actually much more important to the Bengals than it was to the Buccaneers.
At least in terms of the Bengals' ability to win the AFC North,
vis-à-vis the Buccaneers' ability to win the AFC South.
The Buccaneers are still in the driver's seat there,
but the Bengals have taken really control of the AFC North,
especially when you look at the state of Baltimore's play right now,
with this win over Tampa Bay.
Yeah, the Ravens will have their chance still.
They do have the tiebreaker,
and they do play each other one more time.
So the Ravens do have the schedule on their side, too.
It's going to be fascinated, but the Bengals look like the much superior team at this point
after the Ravens laid their egg on Saturday,
even if they get Lamar Jackson back.
I thought the Buccaneers offense actually had a little bit of life in the first half.
They were doing some different things, a little bit of play action.
They were taking their shots to Mike Evans down the field.
So maybe this is at least a little bit of glimmer of hope for the Buccaneers' offense.
They got shut down in the second half.
But they were at least trying some new things on offense.
And maybe that gives Mike Evans a little bit of an upgrade if they're going to do more creative things
and get the ball downfield because, you know, this dink and dunk offense that they've been running through 14 weeks was not cutting it.
You got to give them like your best player on offense. You got to give them more opportunities downfield.
And they finally did a little bit here. So at least that's a little bit of an upgrade for this passing.
Yeah, I'll move. I'll move T. Higgins up just because he made through this entire game.
Yeah. I mean, I know we were getting some questions on them.
People were rightfully scared to play them after last week's debacle. But yeah, he's.
He did get through this game, but, yeah, not a whole lot to really, I mean, these are, both of these teams are what they are at this point.
So not a whole lot to take from this game.
Now, let's go over to the final game of the slate, which was the Giants and the commanders.
The commanders were, I know there were some bad calls at the end of that game.
Far be it from me.
As an Eagle fan who basically watched them lose to the game.
commanders because of miss calls to really lament that.
But what were your takeaways from this game?
Not a whole. I mean, hey, at least Sequin Barclay, he got off the injury report this week,
showed up in week 14 with that neck injury.
And he, it was kind of slow going, but that final drive, I mean, he was just ripping off chunk
runs after chunk runs, really look back to his form from earlier in the season.
So maybe he's trending up here a little bit.
I know people have been scared.
I was actually getting some questions about him, you know, play him or Rashad White or play him or Ramandre.
And Barclay looked like his old self a little bit.
So he's trying to back up here.
Nothing really to take away from the Washington side either.
I mean, Tara McLaurin gets done every week.
I have to say, our boy, Mr. Penn State, Johan Dodson, man.
He's going to be really good.
Oh, my God, he was making guys look like fools out there.
just a shame that he picked up those hamstring issues early in the season.
It looked like he was going to be kind of in line for a breakout kind of a rookie campaign.
Hopefully he gets lost in the shuffle here a little bit, and he falls in fantasy drafts.
We'll see what happens this off season.
Hopefully they get a quarterback as well who can consistently get him the ball.
But nothing really does.
I mean, this is Brian Robinson's mostly his backfield at this point.
Antonio Gibson is a non-factor.
Of course, he fumbled on one of his few carries of the game and nearly lost it in a pivotal position.
But, yeah, not a whole lot to write about from this game, I would think.
Yeah, it's, it's really not.
I mean, Daniel Jones, like, look, he's 21 to 32 for 160, but, I mean, who's he throwing to?
I mean, Richie James is out there.
Yeah, no, Isaiah Hodges.
I cashed the prop at there, by the.
Yeah, that was a nice one.
I thought that number was a little low.
So, yeah, I mean, they got nothing at receiver right now.
Hey, Gall, I saw Gallaudet.
I saw Gallaudet out there for a couple snaps last night.
Good for him.
Yeah.
Is Dodson Waverwire?
Yeah, he'll be, I would assume John's a big Dotson guy.
I'm sure.
I moved him up to the very top, and I would assume that John wants to keep him there.
So, I mean, the wide receiver position at Waverwire is pretty dreadful at this point.
So I think he'll be the priority at, even with a matchup with the 49ers this week.
All right, T-Bro, I'm going to send this out.
I hope everybody enjoys the Monday night game.
I hope your electrician isn't there yet.
Perfect timing.
This is right on time here.
He should be coming to the door at any minute.
