It's time for the Fantasy Points podcast brought to you by FantasyPoints.com.
Top level fantasy football and NFL betting analysis from every perspective and angle.
From numbers to the film room with a single goal to help you score more fantasy points.
Week two of NFL football and a wild week two of fantasy football.
T-bro, I have game matchups where I scored 200 points.
I've got matchups where I scored like 70 points.
It has been one of those weeks.
I was feeling so good.
By the way, I'm Joe Dolan.
That's Tom Broly.
We're doing our week two market report recap podcast,
which basically talks us through the process of the market report article
that we post on fantasy points every Monday afternoon,
kind of breaking down all the goings on of the week,
the news, the injuries, the playtime, all that stuff.
It was a wild one.
Team, bro, we're in the auction league together that we've been doing for years.
I'm the defending champion of that league.
And boy, did I feel great about my receiving core after week one.
I felt freaking great about it.
I spent up for Christian McCaffrey and then didn't spend up for another running back.
So I went and I spread that money around to my wide receivers and I got A.J. Brown in there.
And I'm like, yeah.
And I also got Michael Pittman in there.
And I got Gabe Davis in there.
And I got Jerry Judy in there.
And it was a bloodbath for old Dolan in that league this week.
My starting quarterback is Trey Lance in that league. I, in our fantasy points league that we just started up this year, I drafted Trey Lance and Dac Prescott for quarterback. So off to a flight. And I have Keenan Allen, Gabe Davis. There's a couple other players that are, I mean, I already lost like six or seven players in that league. I'm like, oh, I just want to throw in the towel already. So it was one of those weeks. Wild comebacks all over the place. The dolphins flying back.
to get, you know, get the win over the Baltimore Ravens.
The Jets, down 13 points with under two minutes left, get the victory there.
The Raiders doing nothing in the second half,
letting the Cardinals and Kyler Murray just improvise all day back there
and make a few plays.
So we almost had another big one.
The Falcons had a chance at the end of that game after being down big.
So just some wild performances all across the league here.
And just some really fun games.
Let's start with Thursday night, T-Brow, which you've already recap this game because you do the waiver wire and all that.
But what were your takeaways from a market report up and down movement standpoint from the Chargers and the Chiefs on Thursday night?
Yeah, I mean, we're watching Justin Herbert's injury.
That's the big one.
He was grimacing, like crazy every time he threw the ball.
He had that one third down where he scrambled out of the pocket and had the easy first down.
and he went to, like, do a pump fake, and he, you know, he really felt it and he just tossed it away.
Then he throws a frozen rope on the next play, and they did get the backdoor cover in that one.
But he broke rib cartilage.
I didn't know you could break rib cartilage, but apparently I thought he could break ribs.
But, so that's something we'll be monitoring this week.
They do get an extra three days of rest.
And other than that, I mean, Juju Smith.
turned back into Steelers, Juju Smith Schuster, 10 yards on three targets. A dot underneath
less than two yards per, you know, each of his three targets there. So turn back into
Pittsburgh, Juju Smith-Schuster in that one. Clyde Edwards-Cillera continues to look good,
but we're going to continue to monitor that backfield because he, him and Jerich
McKinnon completely split the snaps, basically.
There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to the rotation.
But he is like, he's giving up a lot of goal line situations.
Of course, McKinnon scored a touchdown from nine yards away.
So something to watch there, but he is at least playing very well right now.
Yeah, and look, we got to talk Skymore just a little bit.
Two offensive snaps, he didn't run a route.
I have to.
They need somebody who can run and.
isn't just MVS who can run in a straight line.
So I would have to imagine going forward, Tom.
At some point here in the next coming weeks or so,
Sky Moore is going to become an option in the Kansas City offense.
You would think they're bringing him along extremely slow here right now, though.
It's all punt return.
I don't even know if he does kick return.
I know he was doing the punts.
He didn't play a snap until.
Pacheco is their main kick returner.
I was going to say, I thought that.
He does strictly punts.
He didn't even play an offensive snap until the two kneel downs at the end of the game.
So not even involved at this point.
So he's not even rosterable.
If you want to stash him and hope that he, you know, gets a role here in a couple of weeks.
That's certainly a possibility.
Juju's always dealing with knee issues.
And he stinks.
So MVS stinks too.
So, I mean, Sky Moore you'd think would eventually become involved in this offense.
but it's just not happening right now.
Miami and Baltimore.
This was one, a wild one.
I mean, look, this is, I, look, Tua's not going to throw for 469 every week, Tom.
Like, it's not going to happen, but is, by the way, is he on the Waver Wire?
No, he's, like one of those fringe guys.
He's like a 60 to 65% owned.
All right, well, then two of those guys we don't really write up in either report, but he's certainly out there in a bunch of leagues.
I must pick up after watching what Jaylon will have.
Absolutely.
Tyree killed did.
I mean, look, again, he threw a bad interception, but I said literally to Paul Kelly on the Game Day show when this game was at halftime, I was like, you know, at the end of the second half, I was like, you know, I like Baltimore being aggressive because you know, you want to score as much as you can on Miami because the team that has Miami speed can make it a game really quick.
and lo and beholds. I mean, Waddle and Hill both go absolutely. Waddle had 19 targets in this game,
had 170 yards and two touchdowns, and wasn't the highest scoring wide receiver from his own team.
Yep. Tirekill Godamerer, 190 and 2 for him. I mean, the Ravens were really having some issues on the back end.
They had a lot of injuries. They did, but I mean, they were just completely bled.
blown coverages, too. There were some, I mean, I know they're fast, but they were just
behind them. They weren't even, you know, in their coverage area. So, uh, 79, yeah, this is the
game of big plays here. 103 yard kickoff return for Devin Duvenay, Rashad Bateman with a 75-yard
touchdown pass. Lamar Jackson, 79-yard touchdown run. Tyree Kill, 48-yard touchdown pass. Tyree
Kill, 60-yard touchdown pass. Just, just big plays all over the place.
This was the DFS game of the week.
I know a lot of sharp people were on the under, like 44 and a half in this game.
We almost nearly had two teams go over that total by themselves.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was wild.
Tom.
Stock market wise here, the one thing we've got to keep an eye on here,
Chase Edmonds and Rahimus kind of flipped rolls.
It went from like Edmonds like 60 to 40.
in terms of like snaps and touches and everything after week one to most of it being 60 to 40.
So, you know, it's not a, it's a downgrade for sure for Edmonds.
But this is one of the, we're got to keep an eye on this back to.
I can see this just like being, you know, just a whatever Mike McDaniel is feeling kind of that day,
how he wants to rotate these.
Yeah, and so like, how can you feel good about putting Edmonds in a lineup right now?
You can't.
I mean, five carries just, just one.
I gave out an Edmonds receiving prop.
Had no chance on that.
Just three targets in a catch right now.
Yeah, how many receiving yards if you would have thought Edmonds would get if I told you two
it was thrown for 469?
Exactly.
And especially the game flow, you would have thought, you know, they're playing for behind
all game, but he would have gotten a few more targets.
So, yeah, Edmonds is definitely a guy that's down here in our market report here this week.
Yeah, I mean, now when it comes to Baltimore, Tom, I mean,
Baitman had a good game, Andrews had a good game, those are the guys you expect to have good games, right?
Like, so there's really no market report here for them.
I find it ironic with Baitman is one of the reasons I drafted him so much is because Markees Brown was leaving behind such a massive target share.
And the irony is Baitman's making the big plays that Markees Brown was supposed to make and didn't Walfton make.
Like, it's kind of weird.
We were talking about it on our group message throughout with, you know, Graham and, you know, the other owners.
And we couldn't believe how fast Bateman, Bateman looked on that 75-yard touchdown.
He looked like he was shot out of cannon.
Scott Hansen said on the direct TV feed that, or not the direct TV or whatever the feed is.
The Red Zone.
The Red Zone feed.
He reached 21 and a half miles per hour on that.
So Bateman was never really that kind of guy.
I think he tested poorly at the con.
Combine and kind of...
No, you tested well at the combine.
Oh, he tested well, okay.
He just never showed that really on tape, though, I guess.
It doesn't really play that way up to a speed.
So that was nice to see.
I guess we need to do a Dobbins update.
Yeah, he's on watch list because they cannot run the F and ball.
No, this is a major issue.
I mean, they're going to have trouble closing out games if you're better.
We're going to be looking at a lot of overs with the Ravens that can't run the ball.
They can't close out games and they have issues in their,
in their secondary. So this is
looking like a team that's going to be playing in a lot of
games that are going to go over the total here.
Okay, so Tom, here is the thing
with Battenen. There was no combine because it was
So he was a pro day guy.
4-4-3. Now, the thing about Baton was this.
If you were to tell me, after watching him
in the Big Ten against Penn State,
he and freaking Tyler Johnson destroyed Penn State one year,
I would have told you he was
6-3-2-10 and he's actually 6-foot 190 he just plays way bigger than and then he's got like real
broad shoulders he does look a lot thicker than you think yeah he's just good player i mean he
he can make big plays you know he's done it two weeks in a row devon du vernay left with a concussion
in that game he he was a guy that i couldn't believe how much he got picked up in yahoo leagues he did
score the two touchdowns he got he was up near like 70 percent owned i had to take him off the
We were wrong.
Really? There's a lot of people that probably picked him up and played him.
And he scored a touchdown on that opening kickoff.
But it looks like he, you know, the concussion, we saw T. Higgins can match and play this week.
But we don't need to write him up, Joe.
He's just a fringe guy.
But just a guy.
Let's watch that out.
Yeah, just to see.
Because if you used them.
All right.
Jets and Cleveland.
This was another wild one.
I mean, what the heck?
The Jets, man.
Thomas Garrett Wilson WaverWire.
Oh, yeah.
He was only owned in like 20% of leagues or 25% of leagues.
You know, relatively quiet week one.
He's still, you know, it's a little concerning.
He's still playing kind of behind Corey Davis,
but we'll see for how long.
Not for long.
Exactly.
Yeah.
We put him at the top of the waiver wire because, I mean,
how can you keep that guy on the bench right now?
I mean, he was their first round pitch.
And just like, you know, Brees Hall comes out.
And I mean, honestly, I saw Bruce,
I thought, I was going to say.
I thought Breece Hall made more plays than this.
He only had eight touches, but he got in the end zone.
Oh, I mean, what do they do?
I think he only played 20 snaps all together.
It was going to it last night.
I mean, he did come through.
Yeah, he played 19 snaps in that game, 27% of the snaps.
So, wow.
I guess it was because they were trailing.
Well, they were trailing all last week as well, too.
So just.
Yeah, I mean, who knows?
But again, like you said, how can you keep Garrett Wilson
on the bench. I mean, I know Carter,
Carter is probably a relatively
better player than Corey Davis is,
but, you know, let's...
Yeah, I mean, Corey Davis is still the more talented
guy and more, you know, and the more work
he gets under his belt, you think that they would want to
work him into the, into that backfield
more, so...
Should we do a little watch on Elijah Moore?
I think he's down. I mean, if Garrett
Wilson's going to be a thing here,
that was always kind of the concern with Elijah
Moore is that, you know,
Garrett Wilson turns out to be a stud,
he becomes the number two receiver in a shitty passing game.
So I think he's a down right now at this point.
Five targets, two relatively disappointing performances to start the season.
It's not great right now.
I mean, Joe Flacco leaves the NFL in pass attempts.
Yeah, 59 and 44 in the first two games.
And Elijah Moore has 12 targets.
Yeah, for like 90 yards.
So.
That's a, oh, man.
Scott, Scott's down bad right now.
Can you imagine like telling people, again, just like another one of these,
imagine telling people that Joe Flacco would have like 102 pass attempts
through two games and Elijah Morris 12 targets, like, and 90 yards receiving.
It's kind of stunning.
I mean, I thought whenever, you know, especially it was a small sample size last year,
but, you know, Flacco came in and played a few, you know, mopped up a game or two.
and then got one start.
And I think in that one start, Moore had, like, close to 150 yards or whatever it was.
It was a monster game that he had.
So a bit surprising that Moore has been a little bit quiet here.
So not a great sign, though, if Garrett Wilson's already starting to show out,
and he's struggling to get a, you know, a healthy target share from Joe Flackett right now.
Cleveland is Cleveland, with the exception that we can move Amar Cooper up.
He had a huge game.
Yeah, he was close.
I gave him out for a player prop this week.
had six targets last week
but he also drew a couple penalties
that kind of, you know,
negated potential big plays. So
he's back to
being the number one guy here. Donovan
Peoples Jones turned back
into DPJ. He went from 11
targets in week one to one target this week.
So Cooper is still the guy here.
Oh, yeah, in the backfield.
I mean, it's the same thing.
It is what it is.
Yeah, Nick Chubbs, whoever
touchdowns.
Whoever you play, hope they get in the end zone.
right i mean
and it can happen any week with these guys i'm not benching either of these guys like
because they've got the opportunity to go nuts so yeah that's that's where i'm at
washington at the rsett did pick up uh he said after the game that he injured his ankle in that
game so that's something to watch they play quick turn around the thursday night i already
just gave out the steelers plus three and a half in that game not not thrilled to be
uh on any side with uh Mitch trabisky right now but uh something
a watch there heading to that person.
We'll get to that.
We'll get to that.
Washington at Detroit.
Tom, we said it
on the betting show.
By the way, if you are a premium
subscriber at fantasy points.com, and if you're not
use code Broly 22, you get the
point spread every Friday afternoon with me and Tom.
We go through every game talking
totals and spreads and props.
We said Detroit was an
over's team. Well, this one
went way over the total. I think the commander's
turn over team as well.
Yeah, so just that, I mean, Wens looked atrocious in the first half.
Then he comes out and slinging the ball all over the field in the second half.
And Detroit, despite the, their entire interior of the offensive line is banged up.
And they are just creating chunk play after chunk play.
I mean, out of bounds.
Curtis Samuel, I guess, is a thing, Tom.
You know, I know on our Sunday morning show, I was a little hesitant to recommend.
But he did it again.
Well, he did it again.
Yeah, I mean, he looks right back to where he was in 2020.
He got that big contract from Washington, that offseason.
It was like a three year with like 24 million guaranteed or whatever it was.
And he looks like that guy again.
He just couldn't get on the field last year.
But all of a sudden, this offense has some major weapons.
here. Logan Thomas is playing way better than I thought he'd play. He suffered a pretty serious knee
injury. It was more than just the ACL, and that was pretty late last year. So he's starting to make
plays. I mean, all of a sudden, we did Terry McCoran as a downgrade last week on the market report. I don't
think we need to do it again, but if I'm not Terry McLaren owner, I'm worried that he, there's a much
better possibility that he's going to lay some eggs here this season, playing with Carson Wentz and, you know,
fighting for targets with Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dodson.
Does it again.
Yeah.
Another touchdown.
Is Samuel Waverwire?
Uh, I can't remember.
He's like one of those guys that's like 65, 70% owned.
But we could probably do a write-up on him.
He's certainly line up material at this point.
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Detroit, hey, look, D'Andre Swift was clearly limited.
He had seven touches.
He had 10 opportunities.
in this game. It did not matter
because DeAndre Swift is awesome.
Just made some big plays.
Just still something to monitor.
Yeah, he'll probably be
a limited practice
type of guy all week
with this ankle injury.
He still played a lot of snaps.
I'm 31 of 61.
They did rotate in Craig Reynolds.
You know, which was like
a 65 to 70% type
of snap guy for most of
last year and the end in week one.
And in week one, yeah.
So seeing that get trimmed down a little bit.
So we'll definitely probably put him in the watch category.
I imagine he'll play unless he had some sort of setback.
But might not get that typical workload here in week three as well.
Well, I tweeted yesterday about Amman Ross St. Brown, just like everybody tweeted about Amman Ross St. Brown.
So a guy responding to me, he's on my bench this week.
What?
And I'm like, well, I had to play Daryl Henderson.
No, you didn't, buddy.
No, you did it.
The guy, is this eight straight games that he has at least eight catches in a row?
Yeah.
It's ridiculous.
I mean, I grabbed him a pre-season bet 50 to one to lead the league in receptions this year.
And I feel I'm pretty decent about that one.
I mean, Cooper Cup will probably still easily win the way he's performing right now.
But, I mean, this guy's a machine.
He's unstoppable.
I'm kicking myself.
I wish I have him some, but I don't have him.
have him nearly enough that uh yeah that's him and well him like he's a guy who like i drafted him um
you know i wasn't off of him i thought you know he was being yeah he was in the right
right spot like that late fifth round early six round but he was yeah more of the like early to mid
fifth round and i'm wishing that i was drafted him in that spot as well yeah i'm stupid uh him and
We'll talk Christian Kirk with our next game, but that's a guy.
Kirk was a guy I just never, I didn't hate him, but I just never liked drafting Christian Kirk,
and that was a mistake.
So I'll take, I'll take, I wasn't telling people not to draft Christian Kirk, but.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What are we doing with Hawkinson here, man?
This is, seven targets.
Yeah, that's true.
He did have seven targets.
It just, I don't know, the idea is better than the reality with him.
Yeah.
Yeah, he can certainly play.
He's a high-level talent, but it's just, I mean, we have Amun Ra taking so many targets in this offense.
D'Andre Swift's got to get his work.
I mean, Hawkinson just kind of feels like the odd man out right now.
Indianapolis, a jack-to-the-cult are awful.
Oh.
Yeah, not a great start.
Yeah.
I mean, that was impossible.
I wish I would have.
I had Jags and all my like ATS polls and stuff, but,
hindsight's 2020 here, but geez, I mean, they have no chance if Michael Pittman's not on the field.
This is not a good, I mean, this is already a limited passing game with just Michael Pittman,
and you take him out of it.
We got Ashton Doolin.
Leading this receiving court.
It's not good.
Paris Campbell.
He sticks.
That's why I gave out an Ashton Dillon prop on in week two.
I'm like, I'm done.
I'm done with him.
Yeah, so I'm done with him.
You can't get a catch when your team's down.
It's only wide receiver.
Like, seriously, buddy?
I think he was a full-time player, too.
I think he led them in snaps and he's forgot good.
Yeah, he's, he was a waiver wire guy, but yeah, he's not even, you can't.
Jonathan Taylor gets nine carries.
I mean, look, I'm not moving Jonathan Taylor down.
That was just a horrible game for the Colts, but oh, my God.
The Jaguars, I will say this.
I guess James Robinson's going to be their guy if they have a lead.
Yes.
But Robinson, honestly, Tom, the irony is he looked more like how I thought he was going to look last week in this game.
He had a 37-yard run and finished with 23 carries for 64 yards.
So he had 27 yards on his other 22 carries.
Yeah, it's, I mean, are you still looking better than I would have anticipated coming in this scene?
But, yeah, I mean, I'm struggling to remember that run.
Was it a good one or was it kind of wide open for him?
I can't remember that play.
The Colts, the Colch did not touch him.
Yeah, so he was straight up the middle.
He was more of a product of a blown assignment or something.
But, I mean, he's still, you know, this is still a good spot for him when they have leads.
Travis Etienne's been a little slow, but, you know, he's still playing pretty good snapshot, you know.
Yeah.
You know, I'm not going to panic just yet with Travis at the end.
But, you know, it was 26 out of 71 snaps for him.
So that was a game that they were up three scores for much of the second half.
So, yeah, I don't know what to really make of that right now.
But Christian Herc, Kirk, you're right, Joe.
Holy crap.
He's looking like he could be wide receiver one material this season, which is quite the thought.
I mean, I never left, like, totally impressed watching him in Arizona.
And he's, he's coming through big time here so far.
He, you know, all six of his targets, two touchdowns.
He's got that connection with Trevor Lawrence right away here.
This game was awful.
Tampa Bay and New Orleans.
Oh, gosh.
We got to watch the entire Tampa Bay receiving corps because Mike Evans might get suspended.
And Julio, I mean, Tom, I didn't draft.
half to Leo at all, and I'm not going to, I don't victory lap injuries, but like, I mean,
this is a guy who hasn't exactly had ideal help in the past. Like, I mean.
Oh, I know. Last year, I couldn't even practice at all, barely got in the field. So,
I mean, this is going to be a weekly thing. Will Holyo play or won't he? This is going to,
he's going to be a watch, he's going to be on the watch part of our market report quite a bit this
year.
Brady down because, I mean,
the receivers are just a mess right now, and the
offensive lines are a mess. Yeah, it wasn't
didn't a backup
get hurt as well at left tackle.
Donovan Smith's replacement.
Did he? Yeah, Josh Wells. Yeah, Josh Wells.
He got injured his cat.
So, I mean, they're getting
deep into the backups at this point.
Let's go to
New Orleans.
Got to watch Camara.
Mark Ingram's ball security is atrocious.
I know.
Otherwise, he looked pretty good, though.
I was surprised at how well he was running,
but he did have a pretty costly fumble.
They did pull him off the field a little bit.
Like, Alave.
By the way, James was atrocious in this game.
And obviously, he's playing with a broken back.
So let's give him a little bit of a reprieve.
Apparently Alave, by the way,
13 targets had an A dot of like 25 yards.
He was getting the press.
That is insane.
He was getting the prayer balls from James later that game probably.
And then he caught one of them and then immediately fumbled.
Yeah, I know.
He slipped down and, you know, caused his own fumble there.
Because that's, you know, it was one of those like, oh, the ground caused it.
But no, he didn't get touched by anybody.
So lost it.
Michael Thomas, I mean, guys, guys up.
He's back to his.
his wide receiver one status in this passing game.
Another touchdown, nine targets.
Yeah, I mean, it was garbage time, but he is James's go-to guy.
Mm-hmm.
So, yeah, just keep that in mind.
But, yeah, James was bad in that game.
That game was awful.
Oh, man, that was hard to watch.
Carolina and the Giants.
It didn't have hard to watch.
Matt Rule is atrocious.
Baker Mayfield is atrocious, too.
Oh, Baker was terrible.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, he's single-handedly killing DJ Moore here right now.
He just can't get him the ball.
I mean, it's, I don't know if it's all a Baker problem here,
but Ben McAdoo can't scheme up anything for DJ Moore.
I know he's killing a lot of people.
That was one of our popular, I think the whole crew,
I think gave out DJ Moore over his receiving yards.
And he was sitting at like negative two yards.
It's in like the middle of the third quarter.
Yeah, he did score a touchdown,
but this is certainly a little concern.
This is a bad giant secondary, too,
to come away with only 145 passing guards
and less than 50% of your completions.
This is bad signs for the Panthers right now.
Let's go to the Giants, Tom.
I mean, not that we need to bury them any further
than we've already done,
but Kenny Colliday is awful.
Yeah, him and Cadarious.
Tony. They're both. Tony. They put a stamp on it. They're done. They don't.
Let's, well, let's just, I guess we'll just, we'll just write their epitaph here. Yeah, they're, they've totally mailed it in.
I mean, they don't want to play. I mean, it's pretty clear at this point that neither of them wants to play football.
So, I mean, if Wondale Robinson is on your waiver wire, Tom, I think I'd go consider a pickup here after you got a little bit more information.
I mean, they're literally running at, their top two receivers are really,
Richie James and David Sills.
Like obviously Starling Shepard's their top.
Yeah, he's going to get hurt at some point soon.
I mean, as guys does.
Unfortunately, Sterling Shepard, a pretty good receiver, but always find the way to get hurt.
Daniel Jones was terrible in this game, too, by the way.
I mean, yes, he's bad.
It's like, it's tough to.
I mean, he is bad, objectively, but he is playing with crap right now outside of Sequin Berkeley.
I mean, just atrocious. Hey, Sequin got the volume here.
The good news is, in a competitive game, he's going to get all these touches,
and eventually he's going to pop one off like he did for a couple of like the 16, 15, 15, 16 yard runs.
Yeah, I don't even remember him getting the 72 yards. I mean, he felt like he was really struggling through the first two to three quarters,
and then he must have popped a couple.
Yeah, he popped off a couple of longer runs in the second half. I think towards the end of the third quarter,
he started. But like, I mean, Carolina's defense. Here you go, Tom. There's an unders team,
Carolina. Oh, yeah. They can't move the ball and they have a, their defense is pretty good.
It's pretty good. So, oh, by the way, speaking of the car, not that we're writing him up.
Baker's just like chucking the ball to Shy Smith, who's falling down, he's dropping passes, like.
One catch for two yards on six targets. Can we like get some of these to more, please?
Who are some of these guys? Gee, Ritchie.
and S. Sullivan.
Oh my God, Ian Thomas, who signed the worst contract.
I mean, good for you, young man.
Like, get paid, but he is horrible.
Oh, my gosh.
They're bad.
Sorry, Matt, Roel.
You'll be coaching football.
College football next year.
Yeah, he'll be coaching Nebraska next year.
Arizona State's open.
Yep.
I kill it.
New England and Pittsburgh, Tom.
Here we go.
Man, Mitch Trubisky is bad.
Oh, he's awful.
He is so bad.
can't wait for them. I kind of hope they're playing the Browns this weekend. I did bet the Steelers
plus three and a half. That was one of the best bets I gave out. But I hope they lose inside of three
points so they can just end the fucking misery here. I can't stand watching Mitch Trubisky
submarine this offense anymore. Like, I thought the offensive line actually played relatively
well this week. He was getting time to operate. They were opening some holes for Noggi
Harris and
Jaylon Warren.
I mean, it wasn't great, but
it looked
improved.
You know, it gets a solid
front seven for the Patriots.
And just another,
you know,
he was right at 5.1 yards
per attempt,
just like last week.
I mean,
one turnover this week.
At least he's not turning the ball
over a lot.
I mean, that's a talking point in
Pittsburgh that, you know,
at least he's playing clean football.
It's like, yeah, but we're averaging five yards an attempt.
You know, throwing the ball.
It's not acceptable.
He's taking bad sacks.
Oh, yeah.
It's, this is bad.
I mean,
Najee,
he's killing George Pickens.
George Pickens is an absolute star in the preseason.
He can't get the ball to him.
Yeah, at least Najee and Deonti are still getting their,
their typical work with.
But this is an offense that's going to
put up some bad performances as long as Trubisky's a quarterback.
Nah, he's horrible. I mean, he is so bad.
That Gunner Olshevsky fumble was...
Oh, I mean, and the touchdown pass to Aglar.
I mean, I can't even remember who was in coverage.
Oh, it was Witherspoon.
He's in perfect position.
All he has to do is just put a finger on the ball.
Just, I mean, the Patriots were just as bad as the Steelers.
And Steelers just had the two bad plays in the game.
that single-handly swung the entire game.
That old Sheffsky play, oh, boy.
So, yeah, this is not a great loss here for the Steelers
in a game that was easily winnable.
By the way, is Jacoby Myers Waverwire?
Yeah, he is, actually.
He's not very heavily owned at all.
He's like 30% of all right.
Because he's boring, but like, I said before the season,
he's going to be one of those guys in your redraft league
who's going to end up on like four different teams by the end of the season.
Like somebody will pick them up because they got somebody hurt
and then they'll drop them for the next hot waiver pick up
and then somebody else will pick them up and, you know,
he'll do a pretty good job.
We got to watch Damien Harris, by the way,
because he limped off at the end of that game.
Yeah, he got rolled up a little bit.
He said he's fine, but they always say they're fine.
Yeah.
It's been slow here for Remandrie.
Well, that offense is bad too.
Yeah, I just was hoping with,
you know, Ty Montgomery
taken out of the mix
that we get these guys involved
as receivers,
but that didn't really happen.
The snap breakdown,
yeah,
Stevenson was at 62% of snaps.
So, I mean, that's,
that's at least promising,
but just the,
just the 10 touches overall.
So he might want to snap.
He was out there quite a bit.
So, I mean, yeah.
The Rams and the Falcons.
Oh, man.
What a weird game that was?
Oh, my God.
Arthur,
Smith is a donkey, by the way.
Yeah, why's that?
Did you see his quote?
No.
Somebody asked him after the game, they said, why isn't Kyle Pitts getting targets?
He's like, it's not fantasy football.
We want to win games.
Hey, here's a coaching tip.
If you want to win games, maybe get the ball in the hands of maybe the biggest freak athlete
in the NFL.
How's that?
That seems like a good strategy for fantasy, real life.
You know, get your best players involved.
I like that strategy, Joe.
come up with that.
I don't know. Hey, I don't know.
You're brilliant.
London, London up, pits down.
Marriota gravitates to London.
Marietta did not play well in this game, by the way.
Yep.
And if you had Cordero Patterson, you missed your chance to trade them after week one.
Oh, all jeers out there plod and ease way to 30 yards.
Yeah.
I mean, that would seem like kind of the plan heading in.
of the season. They kind of wanted to work in Damian Williams or Alger or whoever in these
early down situations. And then, you know, Patterson can't even get them involved in the passing game
right now. Just one target, no catches. So, I mean, he's still a guy that's going to be a viable,
like low-end RB2 option, you know, while he's, yeah, Alger is here. But, I mean, if he doesn't get
more involvement in the passing game, he's going to be prone to some duds because this, this is not going to be a
a potent rushing attack like they kind of showed in week one.
That was probably more of a mirage than anything else.
Yeah, Cooper Cups good.
Hey, Tom, I'll give it up, man.
Tyler Higby's like a weekly starter right now.
Yeah, that's unreal.
I gave out his under.
I thought he looked like ass in week one.
I did too, but they used them.
They were designing some screen passes for him,
and he kind of, he looked much better this week.
So he is, you know,
He's not sexy at all, but, you know, he's going to get you four or five catches for 40 yards.
That's doing a whole lot better than some of these fantasy tight ends that, you know, the Kyle Pitses.
You know, Travis Kelsey had a down game this week.
The tight end position is kind of miserable right now.
Higby is kind of, you know, he's certainly usable.
He's a low-end tight-end one right now, and he's, he's kind of, he's, he's, he's, he's
waiver-wire?
Yeah, he's more waiver-wire.
he's like one of those 55 to 60%
own guys, but he might be out in your way or wire.
He's not going to do
much flashy, but
he should get your four or five catches
in a given week.
Henderson and Acres
got more carries here, but also
average like two yards to carry.
Yep, we're back to a committee
here.
Yeah.
So, let's, Henderson scored
if you used them, so, but
yeah, definitely got to watch that.
Seattle and San Fran.
Oh, yeah, Tray Lance.
Yeah.
That's a shame, man.
You know, the guy goes third overall, sits the bench all last year, and then the first game of this year, you know, people are, you know, killing them, writing them off, and they're playing at a goddamn monsoon.
And this was going to be kind of the first game.
Well, we'll talk about the other quarterback from that game.
Well, yeah, yeah.
But it's a shame.
You know, you want to see.
He was one of the more intriguing guys for me.
this year. I wanted to see, just kind of watch his development as the season went along.
I thought that there will probably be some bumps in the road early in the year, but he continued
to improve. He certainly got the arm talent and got the running skill set. And it's just a shame.
We're not going to get to see him play out his sophomore season. And now you got to worry,
you know, this guy has made how many starts, Joe, 14, 15 starts in the last five years?
Like, this guy's career might be over, you know, because of this type of injury.
It's a shame.
The 49ers.
Jeff Wilson, I mean, he did what you asked him to.
Davis Price mixed in.
I think Davis Price is a hold right now, Tom.
He did bust off a 20-yard run.
The problem is he had 13 yards on his other 13 carries.
He's a hold right now for me on my bench.
But Wilson's the starter.
I think I'll do a Wilson up.
Yeah, I think we got to do receivers, you know,
all, you know, Ayuk, Debo, and Kittle here.
up as well unfortunately you know jimmy garoppel is
gonna give this pass and gain more juice so
uh if you yeah i mean look you have those guys probably probably an upgrade for them
our job is to analyze fantasy football and you know i
said before the season i felt better about my investments in iuk and debo
because they had the jimmy g parachute and this is not how i wanted that to go
but the 49ers look pretty smart right now for not trading Jimmy Garoppolo.
Let's call it like it is.
I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo is now their starting quarterback, and this is a contending team.
For the Seahawks, Tom, the only thing I have to say is Rashad Penny is down.
They can't move the ball.
And Kenny Walker was involved in that game.
They just didn't run a lot of plays.
They ran 47 plays.
Yeah, and Travis Homer's, you know, he's their third downback.
I mean, all the, this entire team is hard to.
you can't play any of the running backs.
Travis Homer, you want to guess how many snaps he played?
Let the backfield with 45% of the snap.
What?
Oh.
They were trailing the entire game.
And that's going to be kind of baseline.
Yeah, I mean, Seattle's going to be trailing a lot of games.
So, you know, Travis Homer might be, you know, the snap leader in quite a few games in that backfield.
So this is a mess right now.
You can't use Walker or Penny right now.
Cincinnati and Dallas, Cincinnati's offensive line.
Oh, my Lord.
It didn't get better, it looks like.
No, Burrow down for, yeah, Burrow down for the time being.
I mean, he's under siege.
And he didn't turn the ball over in this game, but not like last week, but oh, man,
3.8 yards per play for the best.
They have Jamar Chase, T. Higgins, Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon, and Joe Burrow.
they have just 3.8 yards per play.
That's hard to do.
I mean, that's all we were hoping for for Joe Burrow.
It's just a little bit more time to pat.
You know, he's got two great downfield weapons and Jamar Chase and T. Higgins and
we're right back to square one with this offensive line.
It's, this is.
And I think it'll get better as it plays together more.
No, no.
This is worth two weeks into the season.
These guys have never played with each other as they get more, you know, and no preseason.
They're not doing that right now.
So as they get more reps, hopefully by October, it starts to gel a little bit.
But it could be a little slow going.
I think they have a – they have the jets this week.
So they have a chance to potentially bounce back.
But I did not – the Super Bowl loser always – you know, that's kind of a thing.
The Super Bowl hangover for these teams that lose.
but I did not have the Bengals starting O and 2 heading into New York to play the Jets.
that was not a possibility getting my book.
Dallas. Tom, I will say this.
Everybody who's been shouting, they got to use Zieg less and Pollard more.
Well, those people are right.
Yeah.
I mean, play out that way in week one.
Pollard had the slow game, but he came out ready to play this week.
He was making plays all over the field in this one.
Got the touchdown.
He's not Waverwire, is he?
No, no, no.
I don't think Zeke has looked bad either, though, to start the season.
But Pollard's the more dynamic player at this point.
But Zeke's down, though, because I think they are going to use Pollard more.
And the good news here from this game, Tom, C.D. Lamb's not dead yet.
Not dead yet.
No, so.
What happened Dalton Schultz?
I'm writing the waiver wire in the 4 o'clock games a lot of times
He lost a fumble
Um
It sounds like you picked up some sort of injury though
Yeah he literally seemed like about it
He kept his helmet on and I think he might have gone back in the game
Okay so it might be like an ankle or something
Yeah
Okay well that's something the key I mean
We're just talking about the state of the tight end position
And you know he's one guy that
Well he's been reliable the you know
since the second half of last season.
Two for 18 from him was kind of hard to stomach,
especially with, you know, I thought maybe Cooper Rush coming into the game.
I'm seeing.
Okay, no, no, Shultz did.
Here's Michael Gelkin.
He has to go for an MRI.
Yeah, I'm seeing right knee injury.
No concern about the ATL.
Yeah, right knee injury came in for one play before leaving again.
Oh, yeah.
Sounds like, yeah, that's something to monitor.
monitor here could be a could be an absence coming if he's he was unable to continue to play on it
something to watch watch this week Houston and Denver um oh Denver's hard to watch too yeah what the
hell I mean they score touchdowns dame pierce up um what they used him
barquehed doesn't get a carry in that game yeah I know that's like burkehead goes from you know
Damian Pierce is the king of the preseason.
Week one, we come out and give Burkhead all the carries.
Somebody must have yelled, you know, the owners or whoever must have gotten in Movey's
ear.
What the hell are you doing?
Play Damien Pierce, and then Burkhead doesn't even get a carry in week two.
So I guess we're back to where we thought we were going to be heading into week one
with Damian Pierce as the lead back in this back deal.
Oh, and by the way, Denver, I think Denver will get better.
Like this is like Cincinnati.
Like, but I mean, they're letting Russ cook and it's not working right now.
Um, Yvonne every time Javonte had 16 touches in this game, it's not enough.
It's not.
Like, that guy freaking explosive, man.
Oh, man.
We need a Judy.
Oh, Judy.
Yeah, what's the extent of that injury?
Was there any word about what that could potentially be?
I mean, I would think those are usually like AC springs.
but I didn't I didn't hear
Was there any like sideline shots of him
With a you know
A wrap around his arm or anything like that
Or I don't know if he caught any of that stuff
No I don't see any of that
Okay
My guess is it's prop
Yeah go ahead
It's probably similar to what Deontay Johnson had this preseason
That's what I'm thinking man
That was like a two week
He was a lot of weeks
There was a lot of questions
if he was going to be able to play in week one,
and that was exactly two weeks after he suffered that injury
in the last preseason game.
So I would guess that if it's an AC joint injury,
that's at least a one-game absence
with the potential for maybe two or three-game absence.
Anything with Russell, do you think we should do anything with Russell Wilson here?
He's not running.
No.
And he's not...
I mean, we're not expecting that, though.
I mean, his receiving core is pretty rough right now.
If it's this going to be all, you know, all Cortland Sutton.
I mean, Sutton might have to be enough.
I mean, Alberto, went back to doing nothing here.
Duty could be an absence for a couple weeks.
I mean, even what they, I mean, they basically decided at the beginning of the week
that they were going to sit KJ. Hamler for the entire week of practice in the game
after playing them 40 snaps in week one.
So even that one.
was like bizarre so i would think wilson's a little bit down and courtland sutton's definitely up right now
yeah uh Arizona and Vegas oh what a terrible loss for the uh for the raiders uh Connor down
right I mean the guy's body is just not built for playing football I mean he gets an ankle
injury obviously Darrell Williams andino Benjamin Tom are going to be big writeups on the
waiver wire this week yeah I mean that that's
going to be an interesting one because it seemed like Connor was ready to come back into that game.
He got taped up, had his helmet on. He was celebrating at the end of the game.
You know, he was running onto the field and celebrating.
And then maybe he's more than a watch. Yeah, he's more of a watch.
I have to wonder if it wasn't like a two or three score game whenever he got hurt that he may have come back into the game.
But, you know, since they were down so much, you know, Cliff was probably like, let's just hold him out here.
we can run our, you know, the, you know, it's basically to hurry up, you know, they're trying to
score. So we can, we can run that offense with Eno or Daryl Williams. So, um, definitely something
to watch this week. He had an ankle. His injury, I don't know if it was the same ankle, but he had
ankle issues last year. That's why he missed two games, uh, towards the end of last season.
So definitely something to watch here. It has been an issue in the past.
Um, yeah, it's, this is pulling T for this offense.
So, yeah, I mean, it's just like the Raiders just let them in there.
I mean, it seems like there's no rhyme or reason to anything they do on offense.
I mean, it's just Kyler Murray running around with his head chopped off looking to make plays and scramble around and make a couple throws.
And he did it and it worked this week.
But, I mean, Marquis Brown, I mean, that was a struggle to get to six catches in 68 yards.
Oh, my God.
And then he dropped that one at the end.
Did you catch clip?
catch the effing ball like well he got
did you see that yeah i mean he got blown up i mean oh he did like nobody's catching that ball
and you take a hit like that i mean he got uh zach erts up yeah i mean he was he was off
the injury report this week which was a positive sign and you know it looked like he had a tugboat
dragging a tugboat last week but he looked you know much better this week and maybe he's
uh over that calf injury here well kaplan also said if you called it on the um
If you caught it on the matchup points live stream,
Kaplan said he was doing a lot better this week.
Yep, and it showed.
I mean, he practiced and was off the injury report, so.
I feel good about having him is my tight end.
Yeah, we've been talking about how crappy the tight end position is right now,
and he's actually one guy where we can feel at least decent about.
They don't have a whole lot at receiver.
I mean, Greg Dorch, it's turning into a waiver wire hero here.
Another four catches for 55 yards in the touchdown.
my theory is the only reason he's even on the Cardinals is because they wanted to have
somebody who looks more hilarious in a football uniform than Kyler Murray does.
Greg Dort?
He is so small.
Oh my.
He is, I mean, Tom, he makes Kyler Murray look like, uh, look like, uh, Cam Newton.
Well, how about, how about him compared to Rondell Moore?
Who's winning?
Oh, uh, good question.
They have a lot of small players.
Um, we got to watch, uh, Hunter Renfro, obviously.
Um, an unfro.
fortunate end of the game for him with the two fumbles, but I think he got, he was being checked
for a concussion after that last hit, which was a big hit. Yeah, he did take a big shot on that one.
What the, Devonte Adams, two for 12 for one touchdown. What's that? Yeah, I mean, I don't know
what you're going to do. No, no, I just, I didn't. So, you know, I'm doing the waiver wire on
Sunday nights. I sometimes don't even look at like the stat lines for the big players and that one
slipped through the slip by me last night, two for 12 for.
one. Holy man, I did not
see that. So,
car, oh my God, I gave out
his over. 280
yards. I think he was at like 210
at half time.
They just totally turtled up and
kind of got what they deserved in that one.
Not really pushing the ball.
Never take your foot off the gas pedal
in the National Football League.
Josh McDaniels is off to a flying
start after his Denver tenure.
I mean, this is...
So what team is he going to trade
is he going to trade car to and then draft a terrible college quarterback?
Who's going to be the terrible college quarterback?
Sean Clifford.
Oh, hey, Cliff's got that dog in.
Also did Tim Tebow.
Yes, he did.
Tim Tebow had that dog in him.
But, uh, Bears and Packers.
Woof.
Uh, I think David Montgomery heard everybody say,
Khalil Herbert's a better fit for the offense.
Yeah, he looked good.
He looked great.
Other than that, that was, uh,
Tom.
They're all down.
They let Justin Fields throw 11 passes in a game.
They trail the entire way.
He might get the 30 attempts for the season starting next week.
We'll see.
If they let him throw two times, he'll get the 30 attempts for the season.
Fields is down, Mooney's down, Commets down.
I mean, just.
Yeah, Fields, I think he's a fringe waiver wire guy.
So, I mean, we can keep.
All right, well, Mooney and Commet.
Yeah, we can write it the basic.
Thank the freaking Lord Field scored a rushing touchdown.
I mean, Tom, how can you possibly feel good about Justin Fields right now?
No, I mean, you can't.
I mean, he looks lost.
I mean, it's a new, you know, a new regime here, but we're getting the same old results.
And he just doesn't see the field.
And, I mean, I guess at least he ran the ball eight times and scored a rushing touchdown.
But that's only going to get you so far.
you have to have more than 70 passing yards to be usable for fantasy.
This is terrible.
I mean, atrocious.
The Packer, hey, I was right about something.
I thought this was an Aaron Jones squeaky wheel game.
Oh, yeah.
I had some first touchdown bets on him.
I had to see field score, but he did end up scoring in there.
Receiving and rushing touchdown.
Aaron Jones is awesome.
He is so good.
There was one run where he got the corner.
and it looked like he was kind of hemmed in
and he just bounced out and has so much juice to,
he ended up picking up like 30 yards on the run.
But this passing game,
25 attempts and only one receiver
had more than three targets.
And it was Sammy Watkins with four.
I think that game was a pretty staggering example
of Roger's greatness, by the way.
Yeah.
Unfortunately, I think this is going to probably be pretty common.
I think everybody wants one of these receivers to kind of emerge and be the guy, but I think we're probably going to see a lot of box scores like this, where it's pretty spread out.
And I think Lazzard will end up kind of distancing, you know, putting a little distance between him and the rest of these receivers.
But I don't think he's going to be quite the fantasy guy that everybody wants him to be.
This is, this is going to be an offense where he's spreading the ball around to all the different receivers.
And by the way, I will say that.
The one, the 20-yarder for dubs, man, he looked great on that.
They'll probably scheme up touches for him and Christian Watson coming forward.
They will try to get one of those guys to emerge.
This isn't going to, those guys will continue to play.
But yeah, I think you're right.
And as long as Sammy Watkins is healthy, he proved in this game he can make a couple of plays.
Yeah, he looked shot last year for Kansas City.
We'll see how long he was able to maintain.
He's always had a little bit of juice, but his legs looked dead last year.
We'll see how long he can maintain it this year.
But I'm just looking through the snapshares.
Lazzard had 81%.
That's pretty promising in his first game back.
Watkins was at 65%.
Dubs at 37, Watson at 32, and Cobb at 29.
So kind of looks like Lazzard and Watkins might have a little distance on the other guys.
but we'll see.
I hope they continue.
I think they're going to try to give Watson
and dubs as many chances as they can
to kind of prove themselves and earn more playing time
going forward.
All right, T-Bro, we got to write up this article,
but I hope everybody enjoyed the recap here.
We'll be doing this each and every week on Mondays.
I might have to have you do it in a couple of weeks, Tom.
I might have to have you do it with somebody else
because I'll be at a wedding.
