Starting point is 00:00:00 Fantasy football takeaways from high stakes, late August drafts. The stakes are high and ADPs are shifting. This past weekend, I had a chance to draft in the NFFC live drafts in New York City. Did three drafts out there, including the New York Super. New York Super is one of the most competitive leagues anywhere. It's a big league in the NFFC. It's a $2,500 entry. I split a team with Nelson Sousa of FTN.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Nelson's one of the better high-stakes managers around. We've split a team in this league for a few years. Besides the Super, I also participated in two NFFC live prime times in New York City. I also drafted my NFFC Silver Bullet draft. That's a single entry High Stakes League. A few years back, I finished second place overall in that league, had a chance to win at the end. finished just short at the end, but it's a very, very competitive one. Also drafted a few other high stakes NFFC, FFC,
Starting point is 00:01:05 leagues. So these are some of the takeaways that I have from these drafts. And these drafts feature some of the most successful drafters in the country. There are several NFFC Hall of Famers that I had a chance to draft against year and year out when we get to New York City. New York City live drafts sort of invite some. very big money and also some very sharp money. A few notable players in these leagues. You've definitely got Billy Wazowski, NFFC Hall of Famer.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Chris Vaccaro, a former NFFC Primetime Overall winner. Michael Edelman, one of the best players on the East Coast. Glenn Schroeder, NFFC Hall of Famer, and so on. And a big shout out to Nelson Sousa. He's also one of the top-notch players. And I'm not even mentioning half of these guys, really, really some high-level competition out there. But iron sharpens iron, and here is some of the takeaways that I had from drafting
Starting point is 00:02:04 against these guys and also with these guys in these late, late drafts. The biggest takeaway for me is Drake London enthusiasm. And anybody who's watched School of Scott, Fantasy Football Daily, Dynasty Life, and certainly some of the other great shows that we have on the Fantasy Points podcast network, Drake London has been a player that I've been pounding the table for. There's also some very sharp people at fantasy points that are all sort of on Drake London having a very, very strong season. Scott Barrett and I, we talked about him. And I've sort of been saying he could be the dark horse wide receiver one overall this year.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Last year, according to fantasy points data, Drake London had a 39% target share in the three games where he played alongside. Michael Penix. The vibes of Michael Penix have just been outstanding. You also have Zach Robinson, who is going to be, I think, a in-demand head coaching candidate when this season's all set and done, entering his second season as the offensive coordinator in Atlanta. A lot of strong vibes with London and certainly this Atlanta Falcons offense. And we're starting to see that get reflected in these late August drafts where a lot of times you get in June, July, early August. Drafters sort of follow ADP. When you get to this point in the summer, when we're nearly at kickoff, ADP sort of gets thrown out the window a little bit, and people will reach
Starting point is 00:03:43 to get their guys. And we saw that this weekend in New York City, a drafter who will remain anonymous because they're still drafting and I don't want to give away their draft strategy. Drake London, this was the New York Superdraft. Drake London went sixth overall. This is a $2,500 entry. closed 12 team league, not a tournament like the FFPC main event, not a tournament like the NFFC prime time, but Drake London went sixth overall in that draft. And it was really a, the drafter was given a slot where they knew they wouldn't get Drake London inside of round two. And they said, this is the player that I want to risk $2,500 on. And this is a player that I think has the potential to be a league winner, and therefore they took London.
Starting point is 00:04:34 When they took London at the sixth overall, they ended up getting Derek Henry in the second round. So it sort of worked out for them very well in terms of balance. But the takeaway for me is Drake London has been a player that at fantasy points, we have continually ranked behind Pukonakuwa. And Pukua, obviously, there's a lot of enthusiasm for him within fantasy points, myself included, but a lot of these late high-stakes drafts, Nakuwa is regularly falling behind Drake London. So we see Drake London going here at the 106 in this big draft. He also went at
Starting point is 00:05:11 the 112 in another. I saw him go at the 201 in a NFFC primetime online draft to one of the best high-stakes players around a different manager. So there's a lot of sharp money coming in on Drake London. We'll see if he can back it up. up, but London becomes a very interesting conversation, not only for redraft, but for Dynasty. He has the profile of a player that could have a truly special season. Another big takeaway from these drafts is the second round has become an running back cluster. The late second round of drafts, you are continually seeing Devon A. Chan, who's been slipping a little bit due to the calf injury, a little bit of fear in the marketplace. Achan's sort of living inside of
Starting point is 00:06:02 the second half of the second round. Call it the 207, 206, 208, 209. And we have seen Devon Achan fall. I saw him fall in one draft to the 212, which is crazy to think you could have a Jamar Chase and Devon A Chan team, but that team now exists in this format. You have Jonathan Taylor, who there's a lot of enthusiasm. Graham Barfield here at Fantasy Points, very, very high on Jonathan Taylor this season. Taylor sort of settled in that back half of the second round. Buckie Irving, who I drafted a few times this weekend, sort of in the back end of the second round. Bucking Irving has locked and loaded where occasionally you would see third round, Bucky Irving. That doesn't really exist anymore in FFPC or NFFC drafts. He sort of locked in. And then Josh Jacob,
Starting point is 00:06:55 Josh Jacobs has really solidified himself as a player that people are very enthusiastic about when you're talking about the 20 through the 24th overall pick. So you have this cluster of running backs, and what's interesting is could this affect win rates? You see a lot of smart people attacking the running back position late in second rounds, and could this have a real effect on how fantasy leagues are decided this season? Of course, last year, Sequin Barclay was a second round pick in most drafts. Occasionally he'd go at the 11-11, 112, but he was really a one-two-turn-type play, occasionally falling all the way down to like pick 15.
Starting point is 00:07:37 As late as a few days before the start of the NFL season, now you have this sort of cluster of running backs there. The one player I didn't mention who doesn't exist in this plane anymore is Chase Brown. Chase Brown has steamed up. I talked about this with Adam Lebatan last week on Fantasy Football Daily. We're starting to see Chase Brown going off the board as the RB6 overall. Shout out to Thomas Tipple, who's been telling you to pack your Chase Brown bags in Dynasty now for two years. I think it's going to be a good year for Thomas Tipple in Dynasty and all you Chase Brown managers in Dynasty.
Starting point is 00:08:11 But redraft managers are really pushing it up where Chase Brown might now be going at his peak outcome type range. I've seen Chase Brown go at a 110 recently in the FFPC main event. In New York, Chase Brown didn't fall past pick 15. If you saw Chase Brown at pick 16, 17, this is a one-off type situation. Chase Brown, the conversation for a lot of drafters has become Chase Brown or Derek Henry. And FFPC, NFFC drafters seem to be leaning towards the younger back with more receiving upside in Chase Brown. Another interesting turn of events that we're starting to see early in the summer, Jamar Chase T. Higgins managers were looking to add Joe Burrow. And Joe Burrow is going higher in
Starting point is 00:09:03 NFFC drafts than FFPC drafts. Difference being just like a lot of ESPN, Sleeper Leagues, some leagues go with a six point passing touchdown. Some leagues go with a four point passing touchdown. So in the FFPC, a four point passing touchdown, four point passing touchdown, format. Burrow gets pushed down a little bit. But the NFFC, those two points matter when you're talking about a quarterback with 50 passing touchdown upside like Joe Burrow. So you're starting to see a few more Chase Brown Joe Burrow teams that sort of correlated stack where there's going to be more Jamar Chase, more T. Higgins, Joe Burrow teams, but it might be the Chase Brown Joe Burrow combination that gives managers the edge. So really some takeaways there at the running back
Starting point is 00:09:49 position for sure. A player that's starting to, and I use slip as a, it's not really slipping, but a player that there seems to be less steam, less enthusiasm for than on July 1st is when we're talking about September 1st is Ladd-McConkey. Ladd-McConkey is occasionally starting to appear at the beginning of the third round. We've seen it in the FPPC. We're seeing it in the NFPC. where earlier in the summer, it was sort of a Ladd-McConkie or Drake London or a J. Brown
Starting point is 00:10:26 conversation that drafters were having. Maybe it's the rise of Omari in Hampton. Maybe it's the presence of Keenan Allen, a former number one overall target for Justin Herbert. But there's a little bit more apprehension in the marketplace when it comes to Ladd-McConkey. This could end up being an ultimate edge for drafters because we're starting to see more Jamar Chase Ladd-McConkie teams where it's the number one overall pick is usually Jamar Chase and now the 24th overall pick used to be other players but now McConkey being in that range if McConkey sort of beats expectations and gives you top five wide receiver scoring upside you could end up with Jamar Chase and Ladd McConkey a very interesting combination, especially in a tournament setting for two players who could pop off and put up a major
Starting point is 00:11:19 scoring line in the fantasy playoffs. A.J. Brown, despite the hamstring, you know, it sounds like AJ Brown's going to be good to go for the NFL opener, but he did miss a good deal of time late in training camp. Was that a maintenance thing? Most likely, we don't like hearing about hamstrings in August, but A.J. Brown is consistently going ahead of Ladd-McConkie. I took A.J. Brown on a Jamir Gibbs team ahead of McConkey myself. That was sort of commonplace this past weekend. And you're starting to see occasional T. Higgins ahead of Ladd-McConkey. I'll say that the NFFC drafter has been a little more enthusiastic about T. Higgins than the FFPC drafter. Now, another difference is the scoring format. Three wide receivers start in NFFC versus two wide receivers
Starting point is 00:12:10 in FFPC, one flex in NFFC, two flex in an FFPC. So structure plays into it, but there's been a late steam on T. Higgins, who checked off so many boxes on Fantasy Points Data Suite last year, first read target, target share, setting all sorts of career best numbers. And Higgins averaged over 18 points per game last year, scored a lot of receiving touchdowns, had a career high in receiving touchdowns despite missing some time. And drafters have pushed him up. There's a lot of late August steam and now early September steam for T. Higgins.
Starting point is 00:12:48 We're going to take a break. When we come back, we're talking about a few running backs and rookie wide receivers who are climbing up draft boards. What's up? I'm John Hansen. Best ball is back and it's only at draft Kings. And there's 15 million reasons to be excited. Costs you nothing to subscribe and it helps us out a lot. So we talked about those wide receivers, Ladd McConkey, T. Higgins. another receiver that we've sort of seen settling in to an elevated ADP is Matthew Golden. A Mecca Egbuka has sort of settled back. We saw some fourth round appearances in FFPC drafts last week,
Starting point is 00:14:55 but as we got to the Labor Day weekend, Egbuka's sort of settled in as a fifth round pick. Travis Hunter has consistently been a sixth round pick, but now you're starting to see Matthew Golden climbing. up draft boards. This is a player that I discussed with Jacob Gibbs and Ryan Heath. Make sure you check out that episode of Fantasy Football Daily. Still some great stuff there. We basically talked about it. Ryan's talked about how he's sort of moved Matthew Golden up in his rankings. And I think a lot of people are doing what Ryan did and being more optimistic about Golden now with this big opportunity presented to him with Jaden Reed's foot injury. Golden, of course,
Starting point is 00:15:39 the first round pick, ran the fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL combine. Listen, it's opportunity knocks in the NFL and drafters are seeing it with Golden. He might not be your classic wide receiver one, but he is an opportunistic wide receiver one in this offense. Romeo Dubs is what he is. Dubs has never been anything more than a speed bump for players like Jaden Reed to put up numbers. we've seen explosive wide receivers have success under Matt LaFleur.
Starting point is 00:16:11 We saw what happened with Christian Watson. Jacob Gibbs brought up how Matthew Golden is way more nuanced, way better route runner, way better separator than Christian Watson, who was an oversized mega athletic sort of fantasy football weapon of mass destruction at his peak. Golden could be a little more than that, and we're starting to see it. Matthew Golden occasionally goes in seventh round, but we're seeing more and more sixth round appearances, where the sixth round has sort of become a wide receiver round in late August.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Golden is definitely one to keep an eye on, an interesting player for dynasty managers as well, who maybe pushed him down a little bit in rookie drafts. Golden might have a chance to sort of correct his own dynasty rankings this year with strong play on the field. talking about some running backs. One running back that is being pushed up is Zach Charbonnet. Kenneth Walker has been a player at fantasy points that there's been a lot of enthusiasm for this summer.
Starting point is 00:17:17 But Walker has also missed a significant amount of time in training camp. And Zach Charbonnet has been a player that has been getting a lot of lip service from both the Seattle Seahawks beat reporters, as well as getting a ton of positive coachpeak. And with Charbonnet, it's a story where we've already sort of seen it in a limited sample size. Zach Charbonnet had three weeks last season where he finished as a, the RB8 or better. Three locked in RB1 weeks was a consistent score when Kenneth Walker missed time. That was, of course, with Zach Charbonnet being in his second year as a pro.
Starting point is 00:17:58 He's been a consistent. past catcher for two straight seasons as well. So he has two-way ability. He has the ability to absorb volume. And he's a name brand player with second round NFL draft capital to his name. So there's been a lot of drafters sort of looking at Zach Charbonnet as a player who can do what Chase Brown did last year and give you low-end RB1 numbers coming from this range of the draft like the eighth round. So now you're starting to see Charbonnet living in the seventh round of drafts. And he has gone as highly as the sixth round of drafts of more than a few times.
Starting point is 00:18:38 It'll be interesting to see where he settles in when we talk about Las Vegas. We talk about those really late drafts right up until kickoff and even after kickoff. And big shout out to all of the fantasy points YouTube and fantasy points podcast subs. if you're out in Vegas drafting NFFC or FFCC, I'm going to be out there as well. Come over, say what's up. I really appreciate all the support you've had for the channel this summer. Really, really some cool things we're doing over here. And hopefully you're enjoying the content.
Starting point is 00:19:10 Come and let me know. Another running back we're seeing rising up draft boards, Ollie Gordon. Ollie Gordon has been living inside of the 10th round. And it sounds like Devon A-chan is going to play week one. but there is certainly a lot of apprehension and fear in the marketplace when it comes to Devon A. Chan's calf. And it hasn't knocked Achan out of the second round. It certainly has knocked him out of the first half of the second round. Back-end second round type player now. But Ollie Gordon is checking off so many boxes for fantasy managers, where Gordon looked great in the preseason at over 125 rushing yards, had a rushing touchdown.
Starting point is 00:19:50 and now we can paint ourselves a picture that if Devon A. Chan misses time, Ollie Gordon would instantly step on the field. The rise of Gordon this late in the summer reminds me a little bit of Jordan Mason last summer where we had these same sort of fears about Christian McCaffrey and people were willing to push Jordan Mason up late into the summer. For me, I think this is a well-priced player where 10th round, you're basically paying. paying a high-end handcuff-type value. Gordon certainly is that. And when we factor in the amount of college production he had,
Starting point is 00:20:30 he could end up being a steal. Do we want to say, can we even allowed to say this year's Bucky Irving could be Ollie Gordon, completely different profiles of backs. But when we're looking at a day three pick who could have a bunch of RB1 weeks if the opportunity was presented to him, If Devon A. Chan misses time, I think Olly Gordon could do that. And drafters are betting on it with elevated price tags. And full disclosure, I have also been drafting Olly Gordon in some of these leagues inside of round 10.
Starting point is 00:21:03 So I'm not just, you know, pumping Olly Gordon content out here. I am also a client, so to speak. So Olly Gordon, I think, is an interesting one. Another player who's sort of risen and is in sort of his own little tier, we talked about the round two wide receivers before where it was AJ Brown, Drake London, and Ladd McConkey for a period of time in the summer. Now it's sort of a Drake London in his own little tier, AJ Brown sort of in his own little tier,
Starting point is 00:21:35 and Ladd McConkey as the number three. There's been a lot of discussion this summer about the round three wide receiver. Who's the best pick between guys like Jackson Smith and Jigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., Tyree Kill, Devante Adams. JSN has completely separated himself from the pack. In NFFC and FFC drafts, you're seeing JSN locked in as an early third round pick.
Starting point is 00:22:01 You don't get the opportunity to draft JSN at like the 310 anymore. That used to sort of be a thing. Sometimes in FFPC, he slips a little bit, but NFFC, these live drafts in New York City, he was absolutely locked in. We saw JSN, just to read off a couple of his price tags, went at the 302 in one NFFC prime time. He went at the 301, which is 25th overall with the third round reversal at NFFC rules,
Starting point is 00:22:29 went 25th overall. And he also went pulling up the price tag. He went at the 303 in the New York Super. So JSN just doesn't fall. He's usually the first wide receiver selected in the third round, unless Ladd-McConkey falls into that range. or T. Higgins is usually ahead of J.S.N. But J.S.N. is sort of separated himself.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Tyree Kill is starting to go between the middle of the third, the early fourth, where there's a little bit of fear in the marketplace with Tyree Kill, but he's got a resistance point where he never sort of falls back into it. But interesting that J.S.N. is the player that has sort of settled in into this range. There's been nothing but positive buzz. The Garrett Wilson, J.S.N argument is sort of, that ship is sailed. JSN is going well ahead of Wilson, who's actually slipped a little bit. But with JSN, the Seattle beat reporters have indicated that it's going to be a ton, a ton of
Starting point is 00:23:29 JSN this season. And we saw JSN last year with 100 catches playing almost a full-time slot role. People were looking at the lack of slot opportunities this year is sort of a negative for him. But I've sort of made the argument that this could be a positive. we could see more first read rate looks for him. He actually was second on Seattle, according to Fantasy Points data, in first read rate to D.K. Metcalf. And JSN, despite having 100 catches last year, was certainly not like a target share monster.
Starting point is 00:24:02 I think with JSN this year in the Clint Kubiak offense, we're going to see north of 25% target share. We're also going to see the first read rate go up. and we're going to see the A dot go up significantly. So the average depth of target for JSN, I think could be the real difference maker where there's going to be an opportunity for him to put up more spike weeks. We saw what he's capable of last year. Seattle played the L.A. Rams and D.K. Mekap was missing.
Starting point is 00:24:32 And JSN had his highest A dot game of the year. And he absolutely cooked then. So JSN is a player to keep an eye on. And what's interesting is JSN and the Seattle Seahawks play a week 17 game that's not that highly rostered in best ball between Seattle and Carolina. And now is your chance to get in your late best ball entries. And the place to play best ball is Draft Kings. Draft Kings is going to have two million dollar winners in their best ball draft Kings contest. It is an awesome chance for you to get those final entries in for your best ball.

See terms at draftkings.com slash NFL dash best dash ball. Speaking of the Carolina Panthers, another player who has steamed up draft boards is
Starting point is 00:26:37 Teteroa McMillan. McMillan had settled in as a fourth round pick in FFPC main events. Now you're starting to see McMillan touching into the late third in FFPC. It's even higher in NFFC where McMillan has leapfrog players like Garrett Wilson, and there's plenty of drafts where McMillan goes ahead of Marvin Harrison, Jr., sort of last year's red-hot rookie. In the New York Super, which I mentioned, there was a number of unbelievable drafters. There was a drafter who's usually one of the most successful in NFFC.
Starting point is 00:27:16 He fired off Tedaro and McMillan at the 304. I've sort of been taking McMillan in that range in NFFC drafts as well. I drafted him in multiple third rounds now of NFFC, very, very high on McMillan. I think we could be talking about McMillan with 160 targets this year. year late news, Jalen Coker is headed to the IR. So we had like a turn of events here where Jalen Coker was set to get all the slot snaps and in this role where drafters were pushing them up. And spoiler alert, I took Jalen Coker Friday night in a high stakes draft.
Starting point is 00:27:53 The next morning goes on IR. So that was nice to take him at that inflated price tag. But that's just the way we sort of roll with the punches in fantasy football. I think Coker will come back. And I think Coker in the second half of the year will be fine. but Xavier Luget is not a player who I think is going to sap targets away from a potential target monster like Tetero and McMillan. We also have a sample size of Bryce Young hyper targeting his wide receiver one. Adam Thielen had multiple games where this was Bryce Young just locking in on him.
Starting point is 00:28:24 So McMillan's in a great, great spot, and drafters are reflecting that. In NFFC, he rarely last passed the middle of the third round. and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Tetaroa McMillan at the two three turn in some of these one-off drafts depending on how things go when we see the late Las Vegas drafts. There's a ton of steam. And like we said, time and time again on this channel, we've had a rookie wide receiver finish top six overall in PPR scoring in four out of the last five years. And last year we had two of them in BTJ and Malik neighbors. If a player is going to hit that level this year, it's going to be Tetaroa McMillan
Starting point is 00:29:05 because the targets could be incredible. And last year, we had a ton of enthusiasm for Brock Bowers, a ton of enthusiasm for Malik Neighbors. And even the most enthusiastic neighbors or Bowers drafter didn't necessarily think this could be the ceiling outcome in terms of catches and targets. With McMillan, I think we need to take a really optimistic approach here that if it works out, you could be talking about 160 targets out of the gate. And if I'm wrong by 20, still 140 targets, still good to go at that range of drafts. Another player who has completely steamed up is George Pickens.
Starting point is 00:31:13 George Pickens has a ton of enthusiasm. Scott Barrett, very, very high on George Pickens. We've talked about him for weeks on School of Scott. We've had a lot of very, very smart guests on who have been a big and high on George Pickens having a really strong season in fantasy this year, and I saw it a lot in New York. George Pickens went at the 406 in one draft I was in. He went as high as the third round in another that I was in. I saw him at the 403, and I actually took him on a team with Nelson Sousa. We fired him up at the 403. And in my Silver Bullet draft, I also drafted George Pickens.
Starting point is 00:31:54 again, the Silver Bullet is a tournament, but it's only one entry. So you get one single entry. I started out my draft with J.Mere Gibbs in round one, followed up with A.J. Brown in round two, got Teteroa McMillan in round three. And then I leaned into the Hero RB start with George Pickens in round four. I love the way that start added. And I also was able to draft Jack Prescott in round eight, get a little Pickens Prescott correlation. And I think I had a chance to talk to some of the really successful high-stakes drafters about George Pickens. And there's a ton of enthusiasm there.
Starting point is 00:32:34 We've heard a lot of the comparisons between T. Higgins last season, George Pickens this season. It's a real opportunity for Pickens this year where Pickens has by far the best quarterback play he's ever played with, a lot of stability for him in Dallas, where he's going to be a number two target, but have a chance to exceed any of his target totals in Pittsburgh. I'm buying in. I'm also buying in on the fact that George Pickens might be worth $100 million at this time next year. If he keeps his head on straight, he has a big season.
Starting point is 00:33:05 He is going to be a red hot free agent pickup for a lot of teams in this upcoming off season. So we're starting to see George Pickens absolutely flying up these draft boards. He's been a very interesting one. And just to give you an idea of some of the players he's been going ahead of, We even saw George Pickens go ahead of Tyree Kill in one league. I saw George Pickens going ahead of guys like Cortland Sutton, ahead of guys like Mike Evans, ahead of guys like Ricky Purcell.
Starting point is 00:33:34 So even though he is the wide receiver too, he has still been steaming up. And he has leapfrog Devante Adams in a lot of these leagues as well, which is a serious resistance point when you're talking about a start three wide receiver format like the NFFC. I've also been taking some Adams, though, just not to fully push that. I've taken Adams inside of round four. One takeaway with Adams is, much like Pukua, I think there's a little bit of fear in the marketplace
Starting point is 00:34:03 when it comes to Devante Adams, where the threat of Jimmy Garapolo starting games has sort of weighed heavy on some drafter's minds where you would occasionally see Devonte Adams as like a late third round pick early in the summer. Now he's sort of living inside of round four. Another big takeaway is Trayvion Henderson. Trayvion Henderson to the moon. We've seen it in the Dynasty streets. You're starting to see it in the redraft streets.
Starting point is 00:34:30 He saw it an underdog in best ball where Trayvon Henderson, the enthusiasm, is absolutely real. He's being drafted at a very similar point right now to where Jemir Gibbs was being drafted as a rookie a few years back. So when it comes to Henderson, there's been nothing but positive drum beats out of New England. We've seen it with our own two eyes with just how explosive he looks inside of the preseason. And we talk about the ability to be an offensive focal point for the Patriots right out the gate. Plenty of beat reporters have reported that Trayvion Henderson is New England's best downfield threat as a receiver. Just unheard of potential for not necessarily unheard of, but we're talking about very strong potential for the explosive rookie to really shine in this offense.
Starting point is 00:35:18 then we factor in the rushing threat of Drake May. You get these dreams in your head of Trayvion Henderson ripping off 40-yard touchdown runs with open running lanes because defenses have to account for Drake May, who probably rushes for 650, 700 yards this year. So Trayvion Henderson enthusiasm is absolutely real. And we are starting to see Trayvion Henderson leapfrogging my guy, Omarin Hampton, continually in drafts. I saw Trayvion Henderson at the three. 304 in one draft at the 305 in another draft, Henderson at the 305 in one other draft. And Travion Henderson, I've seen as high as the 302.
Starting point is 00:36:01 I was able to draft Trayvon Henderson in the New York Super. And in the New York Super, what was interesting, there was a wide receiver run that pushed down a few running back values. And I was able to draft Travion Henderson at the three. 10. So I started out the New York super, and this is the league with Nelson Sousa, with C.D. Lamb, Bucky Irving, and then we came back with Trayvon Henderson. And in that one, we ended up dropped in Cortland Sutton inside a round four wide receivers flying off the board. So Henderson, my bags are packed now. I have a ton of exposure to him in Dynasty. And now a ton of exposure to him in
Starting point is 00:36:42 redraft. But I think it pays off. There's obviously some red flags when it comes to the New England Patriots, the offensive line play, but there's also the potential that they take a big step forward and Henderson pays off. And at this range of the draft, you're talking about the old dead zone. Guys that have beat the dead zone are guys like Henderson, elite athleticism, elite receiving upside, and explosiveness that maybe there's, the offense is not the most efficient offense, but it's the explosive play element with Henderson that I think is so appealing to drafters. I'm still very much in on Omari and Hampton. Hampton's been a guy I've sort of been pounding the table for all summer long, but I understand
Starting point is 00:37:28 the drafters who are now trying to push Henderson ahead of them. I think it's the receiving upside where Hampton's going to have to get there with rushing yardage. He's going to have to get there with rushing touchdowns. And I think he will get there. But the receptions are so important in PPR. And I think Henderson is going to get a ton of. of those under Josh McDaniels.
Starting point is 00:37:48 And just we talk about Henderson flipping Hampton. Henderson has also flipped Kieran Williams. Kieran Williams is an interesting one where he's just settled into this late third, early fourth round, like kind of like his own little tier where it's usually the two rookies go ahead of Kieran Williams. So if Kiron Williams gives you the sort of scoring that he had two seasons ago or even at the beginning of last season, he could make himself look like an absolute value here. Two running backs who are dropping a little bit. Kenneth Walker, we've seen Kenneth Walker drop a little bit.
Starting point is 00:38:26 It's sort of a Charbonnet Rising, Walker slightly falling. Of course, Scott Barrett and I drafted an FFPC main event with a B-bag, Batoba. Check that right here on Fantasy Points YouTube, if you're watching the YouTube feed. But we talked about the ceiling case for Walker. But I think there's a little bit of trepidation in the streets based on him missing some time. He could end up being a value. And he's a player where you don't ever really know where he's going to go. There's still drafters who are super comfortable taking him in the late third. But then there's other drafts where he falls all the way to about the fifth round.
Starting point is 00:39:00 I even saw a Jamar Chase, Kenneth Walker team. That could be very dangerous when you start talking about Walker at like that four or five turn area. Interesting player with Kenneth Walker right now as we get to the end of the month. And he could make people look a little silly if he comes out and just hits that 16.5 point per game average. My takeaway is I'm comfortable drafting Walker. I'm also very comfortable drafting Charbonnet. I think that Seattle offense is going to be very running back centric. We believe in Clint Kubiak here.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Scott Barrett and I sort of talked about this a lot last year. Just how impressive Kubiak was last year at the beginning of the year when he had a full strength, New Orleans Saints offense. I think you're going to see that with both of these running backs. I don't think it's necessarily an all or nothing thing. I think if Kenneth Walker is on the field, he's going to produce. If he misses time, Charbonnet could be the league winner. But as Walker gets pushed down, you're able to absorb him missing a few weeks more and more.
Starting point is 00:39:57 When you have to pay the third round price tag, if he misses four games, you're really hurting. But if your fifth round pick misses a little bit of time, you should be able to overcome that if you draft well. So not scared off of either one of these picks late in the summer. One other player that we've really seen fall, and there's been plenty of content creators at fantasy points talking about this all summer long. Certainly one of the players that I think could be very tilting on opening NFL Sunday, and that's Breece Hall. Breece Hall in my silver bullet, I fell on, is it a grenade or is it a value? I think it's an eye of a beholder with what I fell on here. But Breece Hall is certainly falling to a point that it reached a point where I,
Starting point is 00:40:42 have to pull the trigger. I was able to get Breece Hall at the 509. So in my silver bullet, I started out with Gibbs, A.J. Brown, Teddaro and McMillan, took George Pickens in round four. And then I drafted Breece Hall in round five, Travis Hunter, round six, Jordan Addison, round seven, Prescott. And then I actually handcuffed Breece Hall with Braylon Allen in the 10th round. So I have a little bit of fear of this. and I'm a huge Breland Allen guy, but I think when it comes to Breece Hall, it's the receptions. Like we talked about with Trayvion Henderson,
Starting point is 00:41:17 Bruce Hall can concede a good amount of work to Braylon Allen and still really crush this ADP if New York commits to using him as their number two target behind Garrett Wilson. And when you look at the roster, it's hard to see they don't use them like that. I also think we could see Breece Hall get traded.
Starting point is 00:41:34 I think that's just sort of the way that this team is going. They have Isaiah Davis, Raylan Allen. And I haven't, they have not extended Breece Hall. So Breece Hall, they might want to see what they can get for him, whether it's at the NFL trade deadline, whether it's middle of the season. I just feel like when you're talking about Bruce Hall end of the fifth round, I'm going to take a few shots here. I understand not wanting to take Breece Hall end of the third where he was going two months ago. I can understand middle of the fourth. But when I'm talking about near five, six turn area, I feel pretty good
Starting point is 00:42:07 about the value I got and then I was able to get Braille and Allen, of course, with them. One other player to sort of point out, we haven't talked about any tight ends. Tight ends have been sort of pretty stagnant. They are what they are sort of deal. A couple players to point out, Tyler Warren is steaming up and up and up. We've seen him steam up in FFPC, which is, of course, is tight end premium. And Warren has been a player that's a, oh, I got to leave my draft with Tyler Warren type. we've seen a lot of fifth round exposure to him.
Starting point is 00:42:38 We're starting to see him go off the board in NFFC as well. It's locked in. It's Brock Bowers who goes somewhere in the first few picks in the second round. Trey McBride goes somewhere in the early portion of the third round. George Kittle in NFFC, somewhere between the late fourth and fifth. And then it's usually a cluster of tight ends. But I've seen a few drafts where Tyler Warren has snuck inside of the sixth round. and I've seen a few drafts where he's like the tight end four, tight end five, right neck and neck with Sam Leporta.
Starting point is 00:43:10 So the Warren enthusiasm is there. But one player that's interestingly slipping is T.J. Hawkinson, where Hawkinson is now sort of in this like cluster of tight ends where there's Travis Kelsey, Evan Engram, David and Joku, Tucker Kraft, and Hawkinson. Hawkinson obviously missed a lot of time last year with injury. But if we go back to 2023, 2022, T.J. Hawkinson was the tight end two overall in points per game. The tight end three overall in points per game has a very strong contract in Minnesota. And Jordan Addison is going to miss the first three games of the season.
Starting point is 00:43:48 So I think Hawkinson could get off to a very, very fast start. We're going to keep an eye on Hawkinson. I did draft him in the Silver Bullet. and I got him in the ninth round, which seemed like an absolute crazy price to pay for a player that I think could be an edge pick for me in T.J. Hawkinson. So anyway, that's just about wraps it up. Hopefully these were very helpful to you if you have late drafts
Starting point is 00:44:15 to see sort of where the money is going in these high stakes formats, which players people are really, really betting on. We are nearly there.
