NFC team needs in the 2025 NFL draft
that could have a big impact on fantasy football.
Last week, Brett Whitefield and I discussed
all of the AFC team needs
that could end up being.
fantasy relevant. So any team that needed a running back, we discussed, wide receiver,
tight end, and even quarterback, and so on. That was a lot of fun. Highly recommend that
episode. We covered every single team in the AFC. And we're going to do the same today
with the NFC. The NFL draft is right around the corner. This is silly season, Brett.
We're talking about rumors every day. Most of them are completely things we can ignore.
But this Brees Hall rumor seems interesting. Aaron Glenn.
Coach speak, I started talking about how we have three really good backs on the roster.
Aaron Glenn has discussed how there's a potential for, you know, multiple guys getting touches.
This is not what you want to hear if you are a Breece Hall dynasty manager or a Bruce Hall early
basketball manager. Your thoughts on Breece Hall, what his value would be on the market,
do you think we could possibly see a trade?
And the disconnect between the fantasy football community and how NFL teams actually
actually view Brees Hall. Yeah, first and foremost, he had the ACL a couple years ago,
and he just hasn't looked the same since then. And I think that's probably why a lot of these
conversations are even happening. He's just not the Brees Hall that was drafted, what, in the
early second round of his class. So just not the same guy anymore. He's lost a lot of
explosiveness. He's not forcing mistackles at the same raid. His yards after contact has dramatically
suffered. So when you look at from an efficiency standpoint, like he's just not what he used to be.
And so he's knocking on the door of a second contract, right?
And we talk about surplus value and positional value to are blue in the face.
And I just don't think a new regime like Aaron Glenn and the new GM there is they're going to want to sign up to pay a guy who's not playing his best football in a draft class that's absolutely loaded.
While we also think maybe we got some good competitive backs on the roster already, it just feels like a good spot for them to kind of move on and let somebody else, you know, take a bite at the apple there.
Now there was a big segment of people.
I remember I wrote this in my article in the athletic last year about how
Bruce Hall, the explosiveness was going down a little bit.
And you referenced when we talked about this in pre-show,
how he kind of corrected this towards the end of the season.
But could this be a situation where Bruce Hall,
who a lot of his, the argument for him for fantasy football is the home run hitting ability,
and certainly he's done it in his career,
tons of big explosive plays.
But when you look at the explosive plays in year one,
where he played only seven games,
but he averaged 16.4 points per game and 5.8 yards per carry.
And then in year two, where again,
he was running back two overall in total points
and was a 17 point per game score,
four and a half yards per carry.
Last year, the explosiveness just seemed to go down.
And when you take a look at Fantasy Points data suite,
is there any sort of like big information that sort of backs this or am I just sort of overreacting?
Yeah.
So if you go to data suite, click on the advanced rushing table, you can look at explosive runs.
I think what's interesting is he ranks like 15th and explosive run rate.
But when you look at the yards gain on explosive run, he drops well into like, he plunges in like the mid-20s.
And that, to me, what that shows you is like the offense was able to get him.
into the open field, he wasn't really able to maximize that.
You look at the guys ahead of them.
They're all the premier running backs in the NFL.
So even when he had explosive runs, they were going for 15, 16, 17 yards.
He wasn't hitting and ripping these 40, 50, 60 yarders that were used to seeing from him.
So I for sure think that's a big deal.
And the explosiveness never really came back.
I think where Brice did take a little bit of step forward is he kind of acknowledged,
I think he had a little self-awareness and he decided to play a little more physically.
and, you know, that's not really his game.
So I'm curious to see where that goes.
Yeah, and that's another thing where the wear and tear.
It just seems very unlikely the jets are going to extend Breeshall.
That's where sort of the trade would make sense.
You also have, it seems like in the room in New York,
there's an affinity for Ashton Genty.
As much as they want to compliment Braylon Allen, Isaiah Davis,
I think if Ashton Genties there at 7,
you could see a situation like we had two years ago,
where Detroit had a seemingly settled running back situation.
DeAndre Swift played fine coming off of a decent season.
And they draft Jamir Gibbs, fantasy managers for like a 12-hour period,
maybe a 24-hour period.
We're sitting there trying to do mental gymnastics about a three-man backfield committee.
And then, of course, we had that trade for DeAndre Swift to Philadelphia.
You could see something like that.
Maybe this is conducive on Ashton Genti being there at seven.
but I just think that there's there's some smoke with this one.
What about some teams that would fit with Brees Hall and the draft capital that it would take to get him?
I know that when I threw out the possible third round pick, you sort of laughed at that one.
So we both, I capitulated.
I'm going to say fourth rounder maybe gets you Brees Hall.
Also, you're going to have to pay him because he's in the last year of his contract.
Yeah.
So talk about a couple teams that you think would fit in with his skill set.
And I'll say even if the explosiveness went down, even if there's wear and tear on the body,
one thing Brise Hall does very, very well is catch the football.
He's done it.
Every game is a pro.
It's been a guy that's commanded targets and it's been a guy that's done pretty well with those targets.
So who are some teams that you would look at that would say maybe this would be a nice fit for Hall
and there could be mutual interest on both sides?
So let's look at it this way.
DeAndre Swift was the 33rd overall pick in his draft class in the same exact scenario that
Brees Hall was in right now where he was coming out of his third year as a pro last year of his
contract and DeAnders Swift hadn't dealt with a torn ACL. Now he had dealt with plenty of
tiki tack injuries and that's one of the reasons they traded him. But he went for a 2025
fourth round pick. Detroit is just now this year using the pick they got for Diannre Swift.
So think about that. I don't think Bruce Hall gets that kind of return on the market. I'm going
fifth round or multiple years out fourth round. And I think what I'll ask you is,
is what is there's got to be a line of demarcation go look at your board at running back and tell me
where does the where's the line where you're unwilling to you know you you would rather go with
a breeze hall over a like is that line jarquez hunter is that line breschard smith remember these guys
are all going to be cost controlled for four years like i look at this going i'd probably
rather take a shot on my top 14 backs before i'm calling about breeze hall i was going to say i i think
that for like when we when we start doing our rankings running back 14 down to 15 has always been
sort of a little bit of a tier drop. I'd say Richard Smith's an interesting one because I love him.
but we're talking about a guy who's 193 pounds. So there's obviously some limitations in the volume he
can use. That's a really good way of putting it. It's sort of like you get a healthy running back
on a fresh start contract and the ability to sort of double tap it if you're talking about a fourth
round pick in terms of the draft capital.
So that's a very interesting way of putting it.
I would say that I don't, there's going to be certain NFL teams that value
Bruce Hall more than others do on the open market.
We see it every year, whether it's a, I like this guy as a prospect, whether this
guy fits my system well, there could be a team that, that sees him as a difference maker.
So I'll split the difference here.
I'll say, you know, when I start looking at the fifth round, I start looking at the fourth
round. There's a couple teams that sort of stand out to me. I think Tennessee is interesting
because their propensity of backs with past catching ability, Tijey Spears, Tony Pollard,
that seems fairly settled. I'd say the Jacksonville Jaguars. That's an interesting one for me.
They have pick number 142. And then there's a bunch of these other teams that are sort of
like heavily rumored to be drafting a back, you know, potentially on day two.
maybe they pass on that and they end up settling for a trade for Hall.
Vegas, Jacksonville, like New England.
Where are you at?
Is there a team that sort of stands out for you, Brett?
Well, I mean, Vegas makes the most sense.
They don't have an NFL caliber running back on the roster right now.
So even if they wanted a Gentie at six or whatever, you know, someone in the second round,
I think you could still trade a fifth for Breece Hall and then also draft your guy.
Bruce kind of helps you work the rookie and slowly.
And then you let him walk in Freedancy and potentially get a compick if he has a great year.
So, Brett, you're an ultimate ball knower.
And I think there's a little bit of.
So I think we sound, you know, very good on podcast together because I'm very fantasy football driven.
And you're like NFL driven.
But if you were and you do play dynasty.
You know, sometimes Brett will be like, you know, I don't want to do this dynasty thing.
But you play dynasty.
I'm in a league with you.
If you had Bruce Hall, what's the, what's the like get out, get out price?
for you right now where you'd be willing to trade at Breece Hall. Is this a I really want to get out
out from under having Breece Hall in my roster? I have concerns about his long-term future in the NFL,
or is there sort of a break-even point for you right now? You mentioned RB14. I think that's going to be
a shocking thing for some people to hear, but then you have to put into context that Brett's also
talking about contracts with that, specifically for your dynasty roster. What does it take if I,
if you have Breece Hall and I offer you a trade right now, what are you trading them for?
obviously it depends where that where that team's at if i feel like i'm competitive and you know maybe i don't
have a top 18 pick to spend on a running back and i need to improve there i probably i'd probably
uh you know i i don't know gosh i i'm so bad at this theo i usually ask you guys when i'm
no i'll go i'll go a top a top 18 pick i would i would say it's probably what i'd want back
so there you go that's and and this is this is where
I'm at. So this was a, it's been sort of like a, if, if Bruce Hall was a stock in the dynasty,
if the dynasty trade market was the stock market, I saw one of the, there's one of the best
FFPC dynasty managers out there. I'm not going to say his name, but I'm in a number of leagues
with him. Unbelievable skin in the game guy, easily probably the, the, the most skin in the game in
FFPC leagues and the guy makes a ton. He started getting out from under Bruce Hall shares
about two months ago.
He had a, in a single quarterback league, a 103 and a 203 for Brees Hall.
And so that's printing money at this point.
I have a little bit of Bruce Hall.
And this is one of those for me where I don't want to enter the NFL draft
with an overwhelming exposure to him.
So I'm probably a little more bullish than you are.
I think Tanner Engstrand does some cool things offensively.
So I'm willing to risk it a little bit with Hall.
But I don't want to have as many shares as I do now.
I put him out there in a single QB league,
and I'm getting offers like the 111.
The market has completely shifted over the last two months for Hall.
That's sort of just my point is listen to Brett,
listen to myself or kind of make your own decision.
This is the ultimate Breece Hall litmus test time,
because like Brett said,
there's going to be managers who want to get out completely under Hall,
and then there's going to be managers who are thinking that this could be a value.
Let us know in the chat,
what way you are viewing Hall right now,
but he's much cheaper than he's ever been at any point in his dynasty career.
And in redraft right now,
he's falling to like,
Brett,
we're seeing like the 310,
307 in like the FFPC $350 redraft contest,
the FFPC best ball contest.
Like at first he was at the two three turn in redraft and this is single QB.
Now he's just falling,
falling and falling.
So this is like,
Brise Hall is a falling stock right now.
It'll be very interesting to see what the Jets do in the NFL draft and post-N-Fel draft with him.
And just how much of a interest, Aaron Glenn and Tanner Engstred have in getting Braylon Allen more involved, getting Isaiah Davis potentially involved.
Davis might be the one that's even more annoying because Davis can catch the football.
And that's sort of like if Braylon Allen took on a larger role as a runner, but Brice Hall had 65 receptions, he'd still have some fantasy value.
But if this is Isaiah Davis catching 22, 25 balls next year, and then it becomes a full-on
committee, then you could be stuck with like a 13 point per game, 12-point-per-game,
purgatory value, Breeshal.
So lots to unpack here.
But we've got to talk about the team needs for all of these teams in the NFC.
The NFL drafts right around the corner.
When we come back, we're going to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and what they could be looking
to add at the start of the NFL draft and throughout.

Welcome back. Fantasy Football Daily. I'm Theo Greminger with Brett Whitefield.
We're dropping these episodes as many as we can really cram in, heading into the NFL
draft. And then, Brett, the two of us are going to be covering the entirety of the NFL draft.
That's going to be awesome. We're going to have multiple guests from inside of fantasy points
and outside of fantasy points. We're going to give you the best possible fantasy football
coverage of the NFL draft anywhere. Brett, how high?
you to talk to me for about three days in a row. I'm excited. I don't think I'm doing day three,
though. That's usually my, that's my line of demarcation. It's like, there you go. Give me day one and
day two. And then maybe I'll, I'll join for a day three show. But yeah, I'm excited. We haven't
announced it officially yet, but I know we're going to have, it's been you, myself, Thomas
Tipple, and then a rotating cast of characters. That's going to be pretty awesome, including
John Hanson. John Hansen has been on Sirius XM each year since like 2009. So the fact that he actually
gets to do our live show this year with us is great. He's going to be on for several hours
throughout the course of the weekend. And I went over on the Fantasy Points podcast with John and
Brian Drake the other day. And I had an opportunity to talk about this running back class and
some of the potential landing spots that could elevate these players for fantasy football.
If you want to learn more about the running back class and pretty much every other position
that'll get you ready for the NFL draft as a fantasy football manager, there's no better
source than Brett's prospect guide.
You can get that over at fantasy points just by registering your email.
It's an amazing value and an amazing source.
I'm checking it out pretty much every single day here, Brett.
And it's expanding and expanding.
Every time I think you're done, you're adding to it.
So it's a lot of work, but you crushed it this year.
Everybody check that one out.
Let's get it going here.
Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys always a lot of eyes on what Jerry Jones does during the NFL draft.
And this year will be no different.
They signed Giovante Williams and sort of the corpse of Miles Sanders in free agent process.
So they have two sort of guys that really project us like an RB2 and an RB3, if that.
Javante last year inefficient as a runner, just like he was the year before.
Miles Sanders, a significant falloff last year in Carolina.
So this is a team where last year we thought they'd had a running back in the draft.
They passed on Jonathan Brooks.
they pass on Braylon Allen, they pass on Jill and Wright, all the sort of rumored guys that
were going to go to them last year.
And this year, we're in the same boat.
They have the 12th overall pick.
They have the 44th overall pick.
Do you anticipate if Genties there, they take them?
And if they miss on Genti, are they in the running for a running back in that second round?
Or are we looking at maybe later in the NFL draft?
I kind of just think this is a fantasy football wonderland in general.
I mean, they need running back, wide receiver, tight end.
They need a lot of other stuff, too.
They need defensive line help and offensive line up.
But here's the thing, like, they're going to, they're going to at least knock out a
couple of these positions of needs.
And so, yeah, I don't know if it will be a running back or a wide receiver or,
but they're going to get a high level fantasy contributor on day one or day two for
sure, maybe two of them.
Now, this could be a Tet McMillan landing spot.
And we've talked about this one.
and I know I've talked about this with Scott Barrett as well.
If Tet lands there at 12, your thoughts on him, opposite C.D. Lamb, and then I'll also add in,
this has been a Matthew Golden rumored spot. Your thoughts on Golden in that same role.
Yeah, Golden. So like, Tet, to me, this would kill my Tet dreams because I think Tet is a wide receiver one in the NFL.
I think he's 150, 160 target guy. I don't see that role for Matthew Golden at really any point in his career other than maybe a season or two.
here and there.
With C.D. Lamb in the fold already, getting, I think, Matthew Golden's a better, maybe
scheme fit from the standpoint of, like, we already have our one. Now we need some juice on the
outside to kind of lighten the load. And Golden maybe is more of 110, 120 target guy, but it's
high, you know, high efficiency, you know, big yards per catch kind of guy. So I like the
fit with Golden a lot better. Now, I'm also not in the business of reaching, right? So if Ted's
there, they should absolutely go with Ted McMillan. I also think this is a, a sneakie.
Colston Loveland spot, too.
So I love that one.
And that's interesting because I think that there is a,
we've talked about this for a few months now,
about how Dallas could be a sneaky tight end spot.
Like it just a,
the argument being the NFL teams might value Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren
more than they do the wide receiver one and wide receiver two on their board.
Those two guys might be looked at as potentially elite weapons in the passing game.
we talk about the Trey McBride, we talk about Brock Bowers, Sam LaPorteur,
the last two years, their success and young tight ends coming in and making a huge impact.
Then you put it into the past tendencies of Dak Prescott to use his tight end.
That makes a lot of sense to me.
Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker seemed like a kind of a tight end one, tight end two,
where most people might just brush this one aside.
But I think there's some legs to that one.
I think Colson Lovell would be fantastic there.
Your thoughts of how Loveland could impact this passing game
and potentially be a number two target early on in his career.
Yeah, Loveland checks both boxes.
He's your new wide receiver too.
And he's also a massive upgrade at Tide End where like Ferguson's in the last year of his deal.
And we've seen some of the contracts of recent signies at Tideend.
I don't know that in the situation Dallas is in where DAC has this laborious contract.
Micah Parsons is going to get paid.
C.D. Lam's already making a bunch.
Osa Deguizuah is getting paid.
I don't know that they're living in a world where they're going to want to pay
Jake Ferguson, you know, $14, $15 million a year.
And that's probably what he's going to get in the open market.
Look, he had a 71 catch season in 2023.
I think there's a real potential here for them to just say,
you know what, let's upgrade the position outright.
And then we'll also save ourselves some money in the long run.
So the Philadelphia Eagles, this is a team where every year they seem to draft well.
They certainly draft values.
And this is a, usually a guy falls to them in the draft and we'll say, wow, how did he end up in Philly?
Last year, of course, they double-tap the cornerback position.
They end up winning a Super Bowl.
This year is interesting, though, because we could see them being a little bit more, a little bit more active, adding players on the offensive side of the ball.
To me, it seems like they need a wide receiver three.
Jahan Dotson is there, but this is not a long-term answer.
I feel like that was a value.
and of course he caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl,
but they've been rumored for a wide receiver at several,
several selections in the draft.
And then there's been some Philadelphia beat reporters discussing how the Eagles
might add their tight end of the future,
their long-term answer at the tight end position.
Dallas Goddard, I believe, is 31 years old.
He could be traded.
And then running back, Kenneth Gainwell signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gainwell, of course, was a very successful special teams player,
but he was in sort of a
RB2 role,
a very low, low touch one
with Seyquine Barkley dominating the touches.
Will Shipley was a guy that
I had some interest in last year,
but Will Shipley certainly isn't a guy
that I think is a shoe in
to just step into the RB2 role.
And then Philly has obvious needs
elsewhere on their team.
So they're super interesting,
just offensively,
which position do you think they'd prioritize?
I think they're going to go tight end here.
I think running back, they got to feel pretty good.
AJ Dillon and Will Shipley is the kind of backups.
I think together those two guys complete a full Saquan Barkley in a certain way.
So that's nice.
And then wide receiver, it's just,
it's hard to continue to invest a lot of capital and wide receiver when you have
AJ Brown and Devante Smith.
It doesn't mean they won't draft one later,
but I think the early draft potential for a tight end is pretty big.
The Dallas got it rumors for trade are 100% legit.
Like I think that could be a,
draft day trade, in fact, where you're seeing a team, you know, like the Chargers or something,
make a move for him, especially if they miss out on Warren and Loveland.
So they're for sure going to be in the tight end market, in my opinion.
32 overall seems like that could be a Mason Taylor pick.
Just feel.
And you look at the way Philadelphia is built.
That seems like that could be not shocking, but a slightly higher Mason Taylor value than some people are projecting.
Your thoughts on that fit?
Yeah, I mean, Dallas Goddard plays, like lines up in line more than almost any tight end in the league.
And that's Mason Taylor, you know, through and through.
And he can play the slot a little bit, but he is an inline tight end, a guy you could see playing 85, 90 percent as an actual wide tight end.
And so I think the scheme fit is obviously pretty good there.
That'll be a really fun team to watch.
The Washington commanders are another team where there's going to be a lot of eyes on them in the NFL draft.
they added Laramie Tunsell, they added Debo Samuel, they added defensive tackle Javan Kinlaw.
So three spots where we were really projecting them to possibly go with the 29th overall
pick, wide receiver, offensive line, and defensive tackle, all were kind of answered in the
free agent market and the trade market. They're sitting there at 29. I've projected them to
draft a Trayvion Henderson or Omari and Hampton there because I just think it,
makes total sense to add that sort of talent upgrade at running back with this sort of NFL
draft class. They've also been projected to go with an edge rusher by a number of their beat
reporters there. So I think that that pick is sort of undecided. They also lack total picks, Brett.
They only have five total. They don't have a third round pick. They don't have a fifth round pick.
What offensive positions do you think Washington is prioritizing internally heading into the NFL
draft? Well, I tell you, it won't be.
quarterback and it won't be tight end.
There you go. Running back,
I think, is first and foremost. I feel
like their wide receiver core with McCorn, Debo,
Luke McCaffrey. They got to feel
pretty good about that. They're loaded at tight end as well.
So I think running back is really the
highlight here. And I think, you know,
this would be a great Amari and Hampton
spot. I think I actually even mocked that
in the most recent mock.
You know, Quinnshot Judkins
in the second round, a
Damien Martinez type.
Like one of these real downhill type backs.
that can really, you know, be a factor in that inside zone read option heavy scheme,
I think would be awesome.
So, you know, it's funny, I've comped Ollie Gordon to Brian Robinson Jr., like very similar
players.
It wouldn't necessarily be a slam dunk, dunk upgrade if they went with like an Ollie Gordon.
But point being, I think getting another one of these guys would be huge for them.
Damien Martinez at 61 would be a really, really good stylistic fit.
And he can do a lot of the Brian Robinson things just better.
And that's a really, I really love that name there at 61.
They could also potentially trade down 10 spots and get Damian Martinez in the third round and maybe accumulate an extra day three picks since they're lacking them.
So I like that one as well.
Definitely a team and an offense that if a guy lands on Washington, we should be getting excited because of course attached to Jaden Daniels.
The offense was third in the NFL in rushing yards last year, 29 points per game in year one for Cliff King.
This is definitely a fun offense for your favorite NFL draft prospect to land on.
Now we've got to talk about the Giants.
And this could be an entire show.
Last year, they struck gold with Malik Neighbors.
Malik Neighbors was an unbelievable pick for them.
They did the right thing.
They took Malik Neighbors.
And Malik Neighbors looks like a long-time threat to be the wide receiver one overall in fantasy football.
They addressed the quarterback position kind of this offseason.
Russell Wilson, James Winston,
certainly those guys are about as bridge quarterback as it gets.
Running back wise,
Tyrone Tracy was a success story last year,
but he is a 25-year-old,
soon to be 26-year-old this year,
who was a day-three pick,
not necessarily a guy that you want to project
to be a long-term starting running back,
just based on the overall makeup of the profile.
And tight end, they hit on Theo Johnson.
So when I look at New York, wide receiver two, running back, certainly a quarterback if it's there at three, like, let's get it out of the way.
If Shadur Sanders is there at third overall, does New York pull the trigger and select him?
Yes, but he won't be there.
He's going to go two.
I know.
I'm dropping a mock draft this week over at fantasy points.
I'm going to, that one I keep going back and forth with, but I agree with you.
I think if Shudor is there at three, no-brainer, they take them.
If they don't draft Shadur Sanders,
could this be a Jalen Milroo landing spot?
I know Milro has been invited to the green room,
which is something we discussed this weekend.
New York has that early third round pick.
It wouldn't take a whole lot for them to trade up.
Maybe with your Detroit Lions at 28, something like that,
and make a shock pick for Milro.
Do you think that that's something we could say?
You say like 34 and 65 for 28?
Would they have to give up 65 to move up six spots?
I think maybe Detroit might take even a little less than that.
Maybe, but traditionally, that's the, that's the pay.
It's at least a third round pick to get back in.
So anyways, yeah, they for sure should do that.
I mean, listen, I haven't, I'm not the biggest Jalen Milrow guy in the world,
but are you, we're, we're not going to war with Russell Wilson and James Winston.
Forget that.
So absolutely not.
I'll go, I'll go all in on getting what I can out of Milrow.
Maybe he can learn some things from, from Russ.
And, boom, yeah, let's do it.
Yeah, no, and I think right, like the 34th overall pick, if Milro just falls to them, which, you know, we saw this with Will Levis a few years ago where he was in the green room, fell all the way to the second round.
This could happen again with Milro.
The NFL loves inviting quarterbacks.
They're not trying to embarrass these guys, but I think if there's a rumor that a guy could get selected in the first round, they want to invite them.
So if Milro falls, I think 34 overall makes a ton of sense.
What other positions offensively do you think New York is?
prioritizing. Certainly offensive line is going to be one of them, but that doesn't help this show, Brett.
I was going to say O line, but I knew I knew you'd yell at me. So I've been mocking Ash and Genty to the Giants at
third overall. So, I mean, that would be unbelievable. I mean, that would be, that would be like,
what a way to get the NFL draft started if we had bang, bang, bang quarterback selections. And then
Ashton Jenty at third overall, like Tyrone Tracy managers would absolutely hate it. And that they would get
Tyler Algiered in about a minute.
But the parallels are similar to Tyler
Algeria when Atlanta selected Bejan
Robinson. Yeah. And when you
just talk about the franchise, like
the fan base, jersey sales,
all of that sort of things, energizing your base,
getting a superstar player like Genti,
I think that I could envision it.
Yeah. So like think about the fact that
the owner is just pissed that what happened with
Saquan Barclay too. Yeah. But I need that
running back superstar back. We're not
making that mistake twice. Let's get it done. Yeah, let's get it done. That would be one where
that would be a really, really fun storyline for us at fantasy football. So we're absolutely rooting for
it. Ashton Gentie going on a shock selection. I think that's very much in the wheelhouse, a player
like this. You don't know how teams are valuing him internally. You've talked about New England
at four, New York at three. So a lot of these people just putting Ashton Genty in ink to
Vegas at six could be disappointed on draft day. Let's take a quick break and we come back.
about the Green Bay Packers. Could they find
their wide receiver one
in this draft class? We'll be right back.

Fantasy Football Daily. Theo Greminger and Brett Whitefield talking about NFC team needs. If you're
enjoying this episode, just go back to the previous one where Brett and I covered the AFC. We went
through every single AFC team and which way they could go with the fantasy football positions.
That was a lot of fun. Green Bay, Green Bay, Green Bay Packers. This is a team where
they've sort of piecemealed wide receiver production,
Romeo Dubs, Jaden Reed, Christian Watson.
They money balled it.
Yeah, it's, but for me, and Matt LaFleur will say all the right things where he says
we don't necessarily need a wide receiver one.
I don't really believe him because this was a franchise where Devante Adams was so
effective.
There's too many people that remember that.
And even when Devonte Adams, this offseason looked like he was going to be on the
move from New York, there were plenty of people in Green Bay who sort of sparked that rumor that
maybe he could come back. So for me, when I look at this roster, it screams wide receiver one.
What's your thoughts on that? You talk about the lineage of this franchise and this isn't super,
it's not necessarily relevant, but you went from what, Sterling Sharp to Antonio Freeman to
Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Randall Cobb, like, yeah, Lentay Adams. The list is deep.
I mean, this is going back 25, 30 years at this point.
Yeah, they need a wide receiver one.
The problem is where they're picking, I don't know that they can get one, at least not this year.
Maybe they get a guy that develops into that.
I've already stated my concerns as Matthew Golden as a potential wide receiver one.
I feel like Golden on this roster would just be another guy.
Like, he'd be the best guy on the roster, but he would, it's just another one that's kind of a lower volume kind of guy.
They need to trade up for Ted McMillan is what I'm what I'm positioning myself to say here.
I think that'd be great.
Otherwise, we're looking at, I think they need a true, like a workhorse,
like a Jaden Higgins, a Jack Bash, somebody you can really pump targets to.
But I really would love for them to trade up and get Ted McMillan,
especially if this slide we're hearing about Ted McMillan is real.
If McMillan makes it past the Cowboys at 12 and I'm Green Bay,
I'm on the phone, like get me this man.
Now, Green Bay selects McMillan.
Let's say that they trade up to, let's say both.
both tight ends are off the board. Let's say Indianapolis, who needs a guard or potentially
goes defense. Indianapolis says, I can trade down, get my guy at 23. I can get Trevor Booker at 23.
So Indianapolis trades down with Green Bay. They select Ted McMillan. Tett McMillan ends up in
Green Bay this year. He finishes as the wide receiver what in fantasy football?
Ooh, this is good. I mean, I think he's a top 15 wide receiver. I was just a top 15 with a chance at
crack in that 9, 10, 11 range.
Yeah, and I think people, you know, we've talked about this before on several shows,
or at least I have, where we've had now four out of the last five years where at least
one rookie wide receiver finishes top six in PPR scoring at the position, that could be
Ted McMillan and Green Bay because when I look at that roster, Ted McMillan, how do you not get
that guy nine targets a game with that team? And this is also could be a like a Jordan Love bounce
back season. I think if they add a wide receiver of that caliber. I do push back a little bit that I think
that Matthew Golden is not your traditional wide receiver one, but I think he could really, really help
that offense. And if he falls to pick number 23, I really, I like that fit. I know that it would be
like a wide receiver one by circumstance. But I think like certainly for Matthew Golden,
him being in that role wouldn't have a top 15 type outcome, but he could end up being a low end
wide receiver two sort of in that outcome.
So your thoughts on that one and also potential for a mechagbuka that offense.
Yeah.
So with Golden, I say that he's not a wide receiver one right now because one, I think the
skill set just isn't there for him to be a true wide receiver one.
And then two, he's never been a wide receiver one ever in college, got outproduced every
year of college.
It wasn't until Isaiah Bond got hurt this past year where he really took off.
like his resume is basically six games long, which again, I like Matthew Golden a lot,
but there's a lot of red flags in the profile.
I just don't think a team drafting him is going to be drafting him with the mindset that he's
their wide receiver once.
So Mecca Egbuka is just too redundant to Jaden Reed.
Jaden Reed's a more explosive version of Egbuka.
So I'm out on Ekbuka as a packer.
Yeah, we'll keep an eye on Green Bay, selecting a wide receiver, though.
I love your Jack Betch.
You know, that would be a really fun landing spot for,
him and he 55 overall seems right about the wheelhouse 54 overall excuse me seems right about the
wheelhouse that he could fall into uh that's an interesting one jaden higgins i'm not sure if he'll be
there at 54 um but again i think that would be a fantastic fit as well very quickly do you think
that they are going into the draft with a full on trust to marshawn lloyd or are they going to look
add another running back because of lloyd's injury problems this past season i i don't know the
answer to that. Lloyd has always been a low volume guy as is, Andy's hurt. So not great.
Deep draft, they could probably get a supplemental running back in the fifth or six round.
That's fine. Yeah, keep an eye on that RB2 role in Green Bay just because of how much volume
Josh Jacobs handled this past year. I don't know if that's something that they're going to go into
this season with, we want to get Josh Jacobs to rock over and over and over and over again.
but that certainly could be a role where there's contingent upside value for an RB2.
So keep an eye on that one.
Very quickly, your Detroit Lions, wide receiver.
They've been rumored to select a wide receiver by some.
And could this be a draft with due to the quality of it,
they add the eventual David Montgomery replacement?
I would say normally yes, but they did that last year in Sione Vaki and they really like Sione.
Okay.
when he's a big physical running back with awesome hands can actually play a wide receiver at that size.
So they really like Sione Vaki.
I won't rule it out because they are so run heavy.
Maybe it's a Craig Reynolds replacement for now and then eventually the guy works into the rotation later.
But I think if they're going to, I really don't think that they'll prioritize any of these positions.
If they do get one, it would be wide receiver because JMO has had some off-field stuff since the day he was drafted.
So I think maybe they're looking at that contract on,
hey, we have Aidan Hutchinson, we've got Kirby Joseph, Brian Branch,
Shamir Gibbs that we have to extend.
The money runs out eventually.
Maybe Jamo's the guy we let walk in free agency.
I wouldn't do that, but I think maybe that's the way they're thinking about it.
And so maybe they do go with the wide receiver in the third or fourth round somewhere in there.
Another team that looks fairly settled in the NFC North is the Minnesota Vikings.
They acquire Jordan Mason.
So they only have four total picks.
They extend Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason, they acquire him.
Which way do you think they'd be leaning?
If Minnesota does prioritize an offensive position, is it adding a third running back to the roster?
Is there a chance for a wide receiver?
Your thoughts, Brett?
I would say probably a cheap running back option, maybe early day three.
I don't think Jordan Mason's very good.
I know I'm anti- Fantasy crowd.
Fantasy crowd loves him.
I'm not a big Jordan Mason guy.
Aaron Jones is old.
It's older than dirt.
So I think running back probably on day three.
It's definitely older than a lot of dirt.
31 years old this year.
It was good last year, but yeah, I agree with you.
They have to add another running back.
Now, the team in the NFC North that everybody wants to hear about is the Chicago Bears.
Chicago, of course, last year, select Caleb Williams, Roma Dunes-A.
Now we have the Ben Johnson bailout this year.
Ben Johnson, unbelievable success in Detroit, comes over as a coach that's looked at as a quick turnaround offense for the offense.
They also have the 10th pick, the 39th pick, the 41st pick, and the 72nd pick.
Is this Ashton Genti auto pick at 10 overall if he's there?
If not, do you think we see a running back at 39 or 41?
And is with the Keenan Allen seemingly moving on, does Chicago draft a wide receiver
maybe a little earlier than some are anticipating this year as well?
And you've also brought up a Colt-Comet potential replacement in this draft, too.
Yeah, they're not going to get a shot at Gentie.
He's going to go before 10.
I'm pretty confident in that.
I think he's the top three, four player in the draft.
Those guys go early.
And a reminder, too, usually teams that draft running backs that high,
they don't draft them because they need.
You could see any of these teams drafting it.
Like, you could see the New Orleans Saints drafted them.
You get what I'm saying.
So like Gentie's going to come off the board before 10.
I don't think they'll have a true shot there.
But you laid out those first four picks they have 10, 39, 41, 72.
I think you're going to get two fantasy guys, you know,
fantasy heavy guys out of those first four picks,
which I think is great because it's Ben Johnson
and hopefully an emergent Caleb Williams.
Tight end,
a big one for me.
I think they have to get better at tight end.
Cole Komet is not a very dynamic pass catcher.
Ben Johnson likes those dynamic pass catchers.
I've been mocking them Tyler Warren.
I've been mocking them Colson Loveland at 10 actually.
And then, yeah, I think maybe they're for sure going to go
with a running back at some point, whether that's 39 or 41.
Yeah, I think that like a fantasy football scenario could play out
they could get Quinn Sean Judkins at 39, Elijah Royo at 41, and draft an offensive lineman at 10.
I also think they could potentially go defensive tackle at 10 as well.
This is one where I think that we're going to walk away as fantasy managers really excited about the guys that land on Chicago.
And I agree with you.
I think we're going to see some early picks there.
It just makes too much sense when you push the chips in with an offensive coach like Ben Johnson,
not to give him the weapons he needs.
plus Caleb Williams, year two development is going to be huge for this entire franchise.
Let's take a quick break.
When we come back, we're talking about the Atlanta Falcons and what they need to do

Welcome back, Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger and Brett Whitefield. Let's talk about the Atlanta
Falcons. This is a team where could we potentially see a tight end do-over and they embrace the
tight end position and move on from Kyle Pitts? I don't know. I think.
I think Kyle Pitts still's got some juice left.
I think they kind of started to figure it out at points at last year.
It's like they need to keep him on the linear plane.
And I think that's pretty obvious.
He's more of a Rob Grunkowski type tight end than he is Travis Kelsey.
They were for a long time asking him to run these real short, quick hitter, change
of direction, heavy slot type routes.
And he's six, six, 260 pounds.
He's not doing that.
Stop it.
And I think they're starting to figure that out.
So I would say probably no.
I think a wide receiver would be the bigger, the bigger push here.
Yeah, I agree with you.
Wide receiver is interesting.
They have pick 15.
They have pick 46.
Last year they got a lot out of Darno Mooney and Ray Ray McLeod, but neither one of those guys is going to be prohibitive from them selecting a wide receiver early.
Could this be a shock pick if Ted McMillan is there at 15?
Or could they could potentially consider Matthew Golden.
And we'll remember, as a franchise, they literally take an offensive skill position.
player every single year in round one every year.
Yeah, that's the tech thing.
I didn't, that's never crossed my mind.
So that's crazy.
Get two Drake London's out there.
That'd be dynamic, right?
Yeah, it would sure,
sure help Michael Pennix.
Yeah, I think second round is probably a better sweet spot for them,
just because they have so many needs on defense at 15 or offensive line.
So second or third round, a guy I kind of like for them is Kyle Williams.
There's like a third rounder.
Kyle Williams reminds me a lot of Darnell Mooney.
I straight up Compton, the Darnal Muni in my write-up of him.
So I would love to get that another kind of version of that on the roster.
And Ray Ray Ray Ray McLeod doesn't really do anything special.
He's a gadget player who can catch some shallows.
But yeah, I think getting a ride receiver that's got some juice, little speed and quickness,
I think would be good for them.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been very, very strong offensively.
Certainly last year they took a step forward.
They lose Liam Cohen.
they promote Josh Grizzard.
So it should be more of the same schematically.
Running back, Bucky Irving, Rashad White, Sean Tucker seems relatively set.
Wide receiver, Jalen McMillan emerged last year as a wide receiver three with Chris Godwin coming back,
Mike Evans coming back, looks relatively set.
Do you disagree with that?
Do you think they could be looking to add another pass-catching weapon with considering the age of Mike Evans?
And also, tight end.
Kate Otton had a very strong run,
but he is in his final year of his contract this year.
Yeah, if Godwin wouldn't have signed such a hefty deal,
I would definitely say wide receiver should be on the menu.
It's not a great wide receiver class,
so I'm not sure they force it this year.
Maybe they look to upgrade else.
They have so many needs on defense.
I have a hard to see them go offense early in general,
just being straight up, maybe tight end if they were to do it.
Maybe tight end on day two somewhere to get a guy in there
competing with Kate Otton, but I don't know.
Yeah, 19 overall seems like an absolute lock for a defensive player.
When I look at Tampa Bay's needs, you know, so many guys on the board there that fit them
more so than offense.
I agree with you.
53 overall is a little bit of a wild card.
I think if the right player value is there, they might consider it.
But like you said, with the defensive needs, I think they lean that way as well.
Let's keep it going in the NFC South Carolina Panthers.
This is a obvious glaring need to.
add a wide receiver.
This last year they drafted Xavier Liggett at the end of round one.
Adam Thielen played very, very well in the year.
But when you look at overall wide receiver quality, certainly Jill and Coker for an
undrafted free agent had his moments.
But when you look at overall wide receiver quality, Carolina's towards the bottom
in the NFL right now.
Your thoughts on them drafting a wide receiver at eight, Tett McMillan would make a ton
of sense.
Yeah, I mean, Ted would be awesome.
if they if they really and i've heard from people that they really do believe in jalen koker so maybe
an outside heavy wide receiver is not on the menu a guy like jelan nol in the second round would
make a ton of sense here kind of in that adam feeling roll um what's another uh i'm blanking on
the other guy i thought of luther burdon lutherburden would be a a fun one with him and
xavier legett you're giving bryce a lot of easy button throws where it's hey just go go create
havoc after the catch and we'll get it done.
So they're in that they're in that weird spot where it goes they go from eight to
57. You also have it to maybe think that they could be a trade down candidate from eight
pick up another draft pick. I'll say that Brett, it's also interesting.
Third round 74 overall like they had a they have a type.
They draft Jonathan Mingo. They draft Xavier Legate.
I think like when we're looking at Trey Harris, if history repeats itself and they want to go
with another big outside SEC wide receiver,
that could be the pick right there.
I don't know.
No, I don't think you're wrong.
I think it's more about the after the catch stuff than it is the size.
That's why I like burden there,
because burden is such a phenomenal after the catch player.
I think Dave Canales really likes these yak, heavy guys
that they can scheme up throws for.
Tight ends, interesting, Jetavian Sanders,
you know, had his moments last year.
You've also said that eight overall could be a shock,
Tyler Warren pick.
They're not really projected to select him there by too many.
But do you think that's still in the cards?
I think it's still in the cards, but I think more importantly what you said a minute ago about a potential
tradeback, this is a team that has a pretty big gap between picks.
Most franchises don't like that.
They want to be in the mix at every tier.
And so if they were to hit a tradeback with, say, 14 in Indianapolis Colts or something,
someone might come up for a tight end.
That's how good these tight ends are.
It would be rare to see.
but I do think they're in a prime tradeback spot.
I also think Jackson Dart, if he's farting around there still at eight,
you might get a team come up for him.
That makes a lot of sense.
Another team that we're looking at offensively,
and people are getting a little bit excited about is
Kellyn Moore wins the Super Bowl,
his only year in Philadelphia as the offensive coordinator,
had great success in Dallas.
And Kellyn Moore comes over to New Orleans.
He has the ninth overall pick, the 40th pick,
the 71st pick,
and then an additional third round pick at 93 overall from the Latimore trade.
Let's talk about what way we think New Orleans is leaning on when it comes to the skill positions.
Running back Kendrae Miller is he settled in as a guy that you think franchise-wise,
New Orleans is excited about heading into year three behind Alvin Kamara.
Could they be looking to add a running back from this really talented class?
Also, Chris Alaveh Rashid Shaheed are there.
they seem like they'd want to add a wide receiver.
And then of course, quarterback, this could be the Jackson Dark pick at nine.
Quarterback and running back.
They're so loaded at wide receiver.
It's silly.
Chris Olavet, Brayn and Cooks, Rashid Jihad, that's disgusting.
That is, I know Brandon Cooks is a meme a lot in fantasy,
just because it's always been good but not great.
This guy as a wide receiver three is ridiculous.
One of the best wide receiver three is in the league.
And then Foster Morrow and Joanne Johnson.
that tight-ed-ed-ed. I really do think running back or quarterback is going to be what they go for
fantasy-wise. So I would love for Gentie to fall here to nine. I think that'd be a great spot.
It would stink for year one because of Camara, but after that, I think you're cooking with gasoline.
And then quarterback, Jackson Dart, you know, maybe Jalen Milrow in a trade-up situation back
into the first round. But yeah, I like I like quarterback or running back for them.
Yeah, I like the Gentie one long-term. Year one would be really, really, really annoying because
he would lose so many targets to Kamara.
That one would hurt a lot.
Let's pivot over to the NFC West.
San Francisco 49ers have 11 picks.
They are, have, I believe, tied with Baltimore for the most picks of any team in the NFL
draft.
Certainly Jordan Mason is now a Minnesota Viking.
Seems to me like the 49ers add the eventual Christian McCaffrey replacement player
in this draft class.
And certainly if they're, if they're not looking long term,
they're looking at adding competition for Isaac Arendo for that RB2 spot.
Yeah, for sure.
They have the bandwidth to move around to their spots, too,
with the amount of picks that they have.
So I'm going to say running back here.
I think they've got to go running back.
They're still pretty solid at wide receiver.
They still have George Kittle in the fold.
But Christian McCaffrey looks like a dead man last year.
And I don't know that I trust him.
He's getting old, a lot of mileage.
Yeah, let's get a running back.
Bachel Tutin, 43 overall.
I said it when we did our bold predictions for the NFL draft episode,
a few episodes back.
Highly recommend that one.
That was a lot of fun.
But Tutin at 43, like Shanahan can't pass up these hyper athletic backs.
There's no back more athletic than Tutin.
And that would be a really exciting one.
DJ Giddens at 75 overall.
And Brett, even if they want to wait, they have picked 100, 113, 138, 147.
They are just loaded with potential running back fall.
picks. Wide receiver, do you think that they add another one here with Brandon Ayuk,
you know, all the question marks with surrounding IEuk and the fact that he's going
off of an injury? Yeah, I think they probably will at some point. I don't know how early.
Joanne Jennings kind of emerged last year. They drafted Jacob Calling in the fourth round
last year. I think people forget that. And then they have Ricky Pearsall, their first round
picks. So I kind of feel pretty good. Also, what DeMarcus Robinson came over from L.A.
Yeah, that's a good call. I totally forgot that one.
And the cowing one is interesting.
Yeah, so I think running back is something they'll absolutely prioritize.
They'll add offensive line.
They're going to add defensive line.
They need a cornerback.
But I think adding a running back or two to compete for this roster is important,
especially because Christian McCaffrey, you know,
we're talking about a guy who's going to be 30 and he's coming off of a season
where he average 14 points per game and only played four total games.
So this is definitely a fun running back spot for us and one that I think a player could
gain some dynasty value with. Let's talk about the Rams. They added Devante Adams,
big signing. So Devante Adams, Pooka Nakuwa, wide receiver one, wide receiver two are set.
Tutu Atwell is still there. But this seems like an obvious pick, a team to add an additional
wide receiver. You think so? It does to me. I mean, like, I know you've talked about this and
them going with a wide receiver earlier than some are projecting. But when I look at it's Matt
Stafford, Matt Stafford, like, I don't think they bring Matt Stafford back not to put him in the best possible light.
So for me, adding a wide receiver and also adding a tight end are just no brainer selections this draft.
Yeah, it's tough.
Because they paid Tutu, like 10 million bucks.
And I know it's a one year deal.
And he's sort of a role player.
And I, to me, it's not, it's like a, if Devante Adams or Pukonakua go down for five, six games and you've got to plug Tutu in that role, you're really struggling.
And I know that there's some Jordan Whittington people out there.
But for me, I just think adding an additional wide receiver makes too much sense.
Yeah, it wouldn't hurt for sure.
I kind of think tight end is the spot, especially, you know, gosh, at 26.
I could see Elijah Arroyo there.
I could see, you know, Elijah Arroyo in the second round, a Mason Taylor type in the second round.
So I think tight end for me is where I want to see them upgrade.
Push the chips in type move would be them trading up.
and getting a Loveland or a Warren.
I brought up Miami at 13.
I think if Loveland's there,
they could leapfrog Indianapolis and be right in that mix.
That's an ultimate push the chips in type move.
But I think it makes a lot of sense for where their team is at.
And the Rams also heading into the season,
you have to like their chances of winning the NFC West.
They took a big step forward with on defense last year in the NFL draft.
I think they're right there.
So a shocking move up would not be surprising to me at all.
Let's talk about the Seattle Seahawks.
This is a team that's had a ton of movement this offseason.
Add Sam Darnold.
They added Cooper Cup.
Where are we at in terms of their skill positions they might be prioritizing in the NFL
draft?
They certainly need to add offensive linemen.
But this is a team with some fun picks and a lot of work to do.
Yeah, I think quarterback.
Sam Donald got a one-year deal, basically.
If you actually look at the terms of the contract,
basically a one-year deal. So same how old,
Jaron Hall also not it. So I think they got to go quarterback.
I think they're a real big potential for a Jackson dart trade up here.
That kind of all in on this actually. I think I think quarterback's got to be on the menu.
Yeah. And it's interesting. I'll say quarterback makes a lot of sense for them.
They also have two picks in the second round, two picks in the third round.
A.J. Barner and Noah Fant at tight end. Could this be a,
Seattle finds their long-term answer at tight end.
And they also really should be looking to add an additional wide receiver.
This is, you know, obviously Cooper Cup's age.
This is one where I think 50, 52, one of those two picks could be tight end or wide receiver.
Yeah, for sure.
I do think that's possible.
I talking to my Seattle guy, it sounds like they really like A.J. Barner, actually.
All right.
Pretty all in on that.
He's the kind of thought he was just going to be an inline blocker for them.
and then he turned out to be a pretty good receiver,
and they're like, whoa, okay.
Michigan's been cranking out tight ends lately, too.
I don't know if people have noticed this,
but there's a lot playing in the league right now
that came through Michigan.
AJ Barner stats down because of our guy,
Colston Loveland.
AJ Barner had to play alongside Colston Loveland.
And Eric All.
And Eric All, so there you go.
And Luke Schoonmaker.
All four of them were on the team together
for one year, which is crazy.
Actually, that's not true.
Barner transferred in late.
I'm sorry.
But yeah, I think tight end would be a great.
great spot for them to look if they don't love AJ Barner, but I think they do. So wide receiver it is probably, right? And Cubiak brought over Marquez, Valdes Scantling, who had some moments last year in that system, but he's not stopping me from drafting people. Yeah, that's a Kubiak guy at this point. So it had success with them. Very smart for MBS to attach yourself to the offensive coordinator that was using you last year. So let's wrap this up, Arizona Cardinals. This for me, looks like a team that needs a
wide receiver two. I know Michael Wilson has done some things there, but this is a, when,
when you look at the roster, they draft Marvin Harrison Jr. last year. They just gave Tray McBride
this enormous contract, but they really could use some quality at wide receiver two. For sure,
I'm a Michael Wilson guy, but that's more from like an NFL standpoint, you know, like,
but he, he's not stopping me from drafting somebody if the right guy falls. Like Matthew Golden
here, this is the spot for me. Or Marvin Harris.
can still be Marvin Harrison, then you get Matthew Golden to be that big play guy.
Kyler, you know, in the scramble drill, so effective.
And Matthew Golden, that's one of the things I love the bottom is really good in scramble drill.
So go make that happen.
I think this is the spot I want Matthew Golden for sure.
Yeah, 16 has been a spot where there hasn't been a whole lot of projection for a wide receiver going there.
But I think if Golden lands there, that would be unbelievable for the offense.
I'll also say that 47, if they don't get a wide receiver in round one,
47, there's going to be a number of guys that we like there.
I know you talked about if Luther Burden falls there, this would be a great landing spot for him.
Yep.
Yeah, I think was that the flag plant show.
That was the flag plant.
That was the bold prediction show.
And go back and listen to that one as well.
That was a ton of fun.
Very quickly before we wrap it up, Trey Benson last year was selected in round three.
A ton of steam in the fantasy football community with Benson, moved way, way up dynasty,
rookie rankings. The idea being that Benson was going to be on the bench for a year,
then they would move on from James Connor, Trey Benson would be the starting running back.
It was anything but that. And James Connor is being brought back as a 30-year-old in Arizona,
had a very strong year last year, stayed healthy the entire year. Benson's getting the positive
coach speak where, you know, they're saying we have two really good running backs, all that
good stuff you want to hear if you're a Benson manager. Internally, how much trust do they have in
Benson? Will they be looking to add a running back as well with this?
quality of this draft class.
Yes, and what you just said, I think, is the most important thing.
The quality of the draft class dictates, I think,
most teams could look to add a running back late to add to the room.
We didn't see anything from Trey Benson and his rookie year to suggest.
We're not, it's like not on the table to draft running back,
especially when you look at Conner's contract.
It's basically a one-year extension,
meaning they can walk away pretty much Scott-free at the end of this coming season.
So I definitely think it's something they should look into if they don't, you know,
if they're not entirely sure in what they have in Benson.
Also, most teams run with two guys anyway.
So even if they like Benson and the reality is Connor is going to be gone for the year,
it's like, well, we could get a guy.
Can we get a guy in the fifth round this year that's better than someone we could get
in the third round next year?
And I think that's the decision a lot of teams are going to have to make.
So it might not be ideal for this year, but I definitely think they could add a guy.
Yeah, definitely, definitely one to keep an eye on.
And I'll say this.
will end with a fun one.
If Cam Scataboo is sitting there at 1.15 in the fourth round,
there's no way he's getting past Arizona.
There's just going to be too much pressure with the local area.
And also, a lot of people love comparing him to a James Connor.
Cam Scadaboo will be in Arizona Cardinal if he is still available at 115.
And with this running back class, Brett, that is a distinct possibility.
Let everybody know what you have coming up next, Brett.
Yeah, prospect guide.

update coming this week, then another huge update next week.
And I write guys up through the, like after the draft is over,
there's a wide receiver that goes in the third round that I maybe didn't get to for
whatever.
I'll write them up anyways.
And it's a lot of fun.
So I keep adding to that.
