now, whatever FANNES and Points Network you're on. It is week eight of the 20, 24 NFL season. And let me start off by apologize. I want to apologize for two things. Number one, there are injuries all around the league this week. There's 16 games, so the books are sorting through all the muck in the mire. And as we're recording here on Wednesday evening, not even half the games have released props. So at least if you tail good friend Trey, that's a good thing. But I want to apologize for that because we're maybe a little bit lower in the prop market than we are typically on this very podcast. Number two, if you tailed us, Tom and I last week on our super best bet, a bet that he and I independently agree on, you just got served with one of the

worst prop bets, prop beats you will ever have. It was Tony Pollard over 63 and a half rushing yards. He had 65 at halftime and finished with 61. Hmm. Oh. I hate the Tennessee Titans. I hate him. And he was at 61 like the entire fourth quarter.

All he needed was just like one carry in the fourth quarter and they did not give it to him. Joe, that was an absolute roller coaster that prop. I know you do the game day show on Sirius XM so maybe you don't fall as closely. Oh, I was following. Oh, So you saw him, it looked like he got a concussion, you know, early in the game. I'm like, well, just chalk that one up for a loss. Then I saw him come back into the game and he got up to 65.

I'm like, well, if they decide not to play him or anything in the second half, that would be good. Let's cash this one. And then he got like three carries on the first or second driver the second half. And he went backwards like eight yards. What happened was there was a fourth and one. They ran it with Pollard. and it basically lost four yards and then I think that was his last carry of the game.

Yep. By the way, he had 65 rushing yards at halftime and they were winning. So all indications are, they're up 10, 7 and halftime. All indications are, oh, he'll get eight carries in the second half. Nope, nope.

Nope. Yeah, that was a prop that closed much higher too. We gave it out at 63.5 and I think it ended up close and close to 70 and a half by, by game day. So I'm sure there were a lot of other people that just bet that and like, okay, all we need is like two carries here in the second half.

This will easily go over. So a lot of people got screwed over on that one. That ended up, my bets, I basically went 500 for the weekend on my player props. And I was one and two on my ATS picks. So if I just flipped that one player prop, ended up having a winning weekend.

But just a small loser otherwise. But yeah, that one was a little. kick in the nuts there. Full disclosure, I went two and three on my best bets. Apparently, the Jaguar should be favored by a touchdown against a team, and that team is the New England Patriots. Tony Pollard obviously was a terrible loss. Noah Brown, whatever.

I mean, Jaden Daniels got hurt on the first drive of the game. Mariotta ended up playing pretty good, but Washington didn't need to throw the football at all. I lost that one. I did get Nick Benito with a sack on Thursday night, a little left of a side. center there. Justin Barnes was really proud of me for that one. And we hit our final Deshawn Watson under of the season. And in my opinion, the final under of Deshawn Watson's crew. Yeah, I guess that one kind of evened out because he was probably having his best game of the season. Yeah, it was. It was actually looking good in the first half there. And then he tore his Achilles.

So if there's any consolation, you got that under, well, you know, the Pollard one looked like a short nuts over. So I guess that kind of evened out. But, yeah, It was a weird weekend overall. I know anybody that plays fantasy, you know, obviously there was some weird production, a lot of zeros and negative yardage for play. I had James and Williams prop. He had negative four yards. So it was just kind of a weird week across the NFL.

I had a Zay Flowers prop. Devonte Smith had negative yards. Yeah. I mean, Jane Daniels, obviously, with the injury. So there was a lot of weird things going on last week. So we have these weird weeks every once in a while. So hopefully we have a, you know, good fantasy week and a good player prop week coming up here. All right, Tom.

So let's get to the Thursday night game as we always do. A really interesting one. We got Minnesota and Los Angeles here with the Rams. Cooper Cup is expected back. I think we'll be hearing a lot more about him a little bit later. Unfortunately, we get to be the people who, you know how like world leaders like back in the day had servants like test their food? before they ate it to make sure it wasn't poisoned so the servants would die and not the world leader. That's what good friend Trey does to us before the podcast.

He lets us taste it to make sure that it's savory enough for the podcast. So we might be hearing a little bit of Cooper Cup later. Tom, I think you and I independently came to one, which I mean, judging by last week, not exactly the best thing in the world. But I was reading Scott de Benedetto. We have a former NFL scout on staff fantasy points, and he does our offensive line, defensive line breakdown every week. And this is what he said.

I really like Aaron Jones and the Vikings O line in the run game. L.A. has not been good against the run, giving up an eighth worst yards per carry and the 11th worst yards per carry against zone runs. Minnesota hasn't been special on the ground offensive line-wise, but Jones has been great, particularly in zone concepts. He averages 5.66 yards per carry on zone runs, which is fourth best in the NFL.

I got this number, Tom, at relatively low. You know, Scott Barrett wrote him up for the Everything report as well. He thinks Aaron Jones is a weekly bell cow must start. I got him at 68 and a half rushing yards. I'm going to go up and over that number. Even with Cooper Cup back, I'm not sure how much firepower the Rams offense has in general. I think that means Minnesota should be able to run the ball throughout this game against the Rams. Yeah, there is a 67 and a half out there.

That's where I got it at Fandle. So shop around, get the best number. Yeah, we haven't projected for about 89 yards in this game. I do, I got to say, I have a little bit of bad luck with Aaron Jones this year. That London game, he had 29 rushing yards in the first quarter. Then he picked up this initial hip hamstring injury, whatever it was. It ended up being a hamstring injury. So I'm 0 for one here with him getting an injury in a game.

and cost to me. But otherwise, he is four games with 93 or more rushing yards. Last week, off the hamstring injury, there was a lot of people, you know, we did the, our waiver wire video where we're like, oh, Thai Chandler should be picked up here just in case Aaron Jones can't play. Yeah, he played and he played the entire game, basically. 77% snap share, 67% carry share. So they weren't, you know, keeping him, you know, off the field there. that does wear me a hair, I guess, with a short week, an older player. But they did take him off the injury report. They're riding him right now.

And yeah, as you said, everything kind of lines up here. And the other note I have here is the Rams have allowed 73 or more yards to individual running backs in all six games here. So, you know, all the trends are kind of pointing towards Aaron Jones having some success in this matchup. So two and a half, three point underdogs. So this should be a relatively close game throughout. I don't see the Rams racing away and the Vikings having to just abandon the run.

And that really hasn't been the case all season for the Vikings so far. So with their defense, I mean, they keep them in plenty of close games here. So everything's kind of lining up here for Aaron Jones to have a big game on Thursday night, as long as that hamstring just holds up and gets us to a, around 15 carries on Thursday night. Do you have anything else for this game, Tom? No, that was, well, I do actually, but, you know, it's... You want to talk about a little later?

Yeah, we'll talk about a little bit later. It's in the same vein with Trey's bet. So he actually gave it out first in our Discord and everything, all my research and everything kind of lined up with it. So I'm in agreement with it. But in terms of the game here, I think this is, this might be a really. ram spot though this is this is kind of a difficult spot for the viking short week got to cut a come down from minneapolis to los angeles uh and there's there's stats that you know the teams that after

playing detroit the week before uh they're the o and four against the spread and uh now we get los angeles gets cooper cup back um you know they survived last week that was a bet i had last week it was on the los angeles rams uh gave it out four and a half uh ended up getting like six by the end of the week. That was a bad beat for anybody that ended up tailing that later in the week at six and a half or seven. Antonio Pierce decides to kick the field goal when they're down eight points inside the 10-yard line. I think it was under four minutes. Ended up costing people that ended up betting, you know, the Rams six and a half, seven.

Because, yeah, if they ended up stopping them there, maybe they end up winning the game by eight. and I don't even know if the Raiders ended up getting the ball at the end of the game. I don't think they did. So another great strategic move by Antonio Pierce. They did get the ball. They got the ball back. But it ended up costing people that bet the Rams, they're laying six and a half or seven. So glad we got in on that one when it was at four and a half early in the week.

All right, Tom. We're going to take a little break, get a word from our sponsors, and let's talk about the rest of the week eight slate. Okay, as I mentioned at the top of the show, the prop market is pretty, thin right now. So many injuries, so many questionable situations. I mean, I wonder if maybe even the books are a little leery about trades at this point. I mean, obviously we had the DeAndre Hopkins trade just come down this week and multiple others. And heck, by the time you listen to this, maybe somebody else is traded. Who knows? Because we're recording this on Wednesday evening.

So Tom, I actually don't have any Sunday props to offer on the best bets. You might think that's a good thing for those of you listening. But don't worry. I have a couple. ATS and total picks. And I'm going to start with my total pick because I want people to maybe get the best number they possibly can. This has since moved a full point in the direction I bet it. As soon as Bryce Young was announced as the starter for Carolina this week. Andy Dalton sprained his thumb in a car accident this week. So Bryce Young is going to start against Denver. I ran to the window and hit the under in that game. It was 43. I'm now seeing a 42 at my book. I saw a all get as low as 41 and a half.

So I don't know where your book is or where it is, but I put my money on the under and the Panthers and the Broncos. Now, in week one when Bryce Young started, that was the game Derek Carr went absolutely nuts. 47 to 10, the Saints went over this number by themselves. In week two, Bryce Young put just three points on the board that went under this number, 26 to 3 in favor of the chargers. And the reason that I have this here is, look, I know Denver's offense has been

a little bit better. They've been able to run the ball, Bro Nix, Javante Williams. Not exactly the highest flying offense in the NFL. Carolina's defense stinks. I understand that. But I could see this being Bryce Young and Bo Nix going back and forth without, I mean, it'll be like watching the worst game of horse of all time, you know, just here, let me try this behind the back layup and he throws it over the backboard, you know, and nobody's getting any letters because nobody can make a shot. I want it. I feel like that's, in the range of outcomes here, Tom. So I have the under 43. I would like to be wrong because I feel bad for Bryce Young. Like that was a player I loved coming out Alabama and it clearly hasn't worked out.

But I just have to look at the evidence. And the evidence is Bryce Young was the worst quarterback in the NFL before he got benched. Now he's back. Maybe Deontay has his legs under him. Maybe Xavier Legate has his legs under him. But right now, Tom, this is not a this is not a team. I could back for an over right now. Yeah, this is, I mean, it's been an over team with Andy Dalton and an underteam with Bryce Young early in the season. So I guess the only, the real concern would be that, you know, like we saw with Washington last week, they go out and put 40 points up or, you know, this defense has been so bad that Bo Nix has his way as a passer. But I don't know if he, he necessarily can dominate a game through the year. We saw last week their game with the Saints.

the only reason it got over was a defensive touchdown. You know, some crazy stuff happened at the end of that, at the end of that game. It was a heavily bet under game. And that's the only reason it went over. So, yeah, I'm with you. Bryce Young at quarterback. I'm going to look towards the under here.

And also, you would think that the Broncos, they got Giovante Williams going a little bit last week. Similar type of situation here. Saints were extremely bad against the, the run and I could see them looking at the Carolina Panthers here. Let's just pick on this run defense all night. Just get all three of our backs going a little bit and keep that clock running and run a lot here. So this is a total that's up at like 10.

So you got it at 43. I'm seeing like 41 and a halfs out there. You know, I think it's bettable down to like 41. Once it gets to like 40 and a half, I'd probably stay away from it. But 41's a pretty key number for total. So I'm with you on this one. Full approval for me. If Bryce Young is in the game,

I think the Carolina Panthers are also going to probably focus a little bit more on getting the ball to Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders. Yeah, and just keeping the clock moving a little bit. So I do like this under, like the number that you got it at, but I still like it, even if it's at like 41 here by the end of the week. By the way, I'm not trying to sit here and brag about the number. I got it at. When I get a number, and you do this too, when I get a number, especially one, you're much, you're, you're a little better at this than I am and making sure you get a bet down

in our subscriber discord right away. But when I see one when I'm going through my best, best research, I pop it in if I know it's a number that can move. And it's when it's affected by a piece of news, especially. Bryce Young saw that instantaneously went to the window. So I, I couldn't, Tom, I could not talk myself in delay in nine points with Bo Nix. I know they just blew up. They just blew out New Orleans, but I couldn't talk myself in the lay a nine with Bo Nix, even at home. So I decided to bet the under. He's only playing really red zone type of drives and he got his chance and scored his touchdown. So that's what's going on in our Discord. I gave out, if we go ATS picks, I gave out the Falcons on Monday. They were getting plus three. And my reasoning was like, you know, something happens on Monday night or the Ravens just totally obliterate them. I could see this line closing closer to pick them. Now the Falcons are laying two and a half points. because of the situation with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. So that one, I'd still probably bet it here. But if it gets up the three, I'd probably stay away.

The other one was this one. This is a stinky brawley special here. I'm on the Colts here. They were getting six and a half when I gave it out. It's down to five and a half. So I might want to sit around, wait on this one a little bit. Maybe a six pops back up. Then I would jump back on it with the Colts.

but just I got burned a little bit by the Texans last week. I'm picking on this team a little bit. I think they're a bit fraudulent, and I did have the Packers, minus two and a half, lost by a half a point. This Packers, they limited Stroud to 83 passing yards, and they still couldn't get a cover. They had a couple too many turnovers,

and they sort of went for two-point conversion at one point, and it ended up costing me to cover on that one. but these teams played. This is, I think this is the first week we're having teams play each other again. Tampa Bay and Atlanta, actually the two games I actually ended up betting on are both rematches from earlier this season.

But the Colts played them tight. Anthony Richards hasn't had some success in that game. I'm also thinking, it looks like Jonathan Taylor could be back for the Colts this week, which is a very practice this week. Yeah, so that he's, you know, running backs don't really that matter that much for point spread purposes, but he's one that kind of does after watching Trey Sermon and

Tyler Goodson tried to run the ball the last couple of weeks. I think he matters. The Force Buckner is also, they opened up his 21-day window, so he could be back in the mix for the Colts. And I can't believe it. The Colts, they just seem to be like getting by every week, but they are the best team against the spread right now. You wouldn't think it, but they're six and one right now. I think this is too many. points on the road here. It's a tough situation, you know, going down to Houston, but I'd like getting the extra points here with the Colts here. I think it should be about four, four and a half point spread. I'm going to lay the seven with the L.A. Chargers at home against the New Orleans Saints. Spencer

Rattler is starting again. Now, it looks like he could get Chris Alave back, which would be big for the Saints. But Spencer Rattler was doing some Will Levis meme turnovering out there last Thursday night. And the Broncos absolutely shalact them without Patrick Sartan. That charger defense just did a strong job limiting Kyler Murray through the air. On the ground, he was able to make some hay. But Spencer Rattler cannot move the way that Kyler can. I just feel like Jim Harbaugh is going to have a plan to be able to get after Spencer Rattler. This Saints team is utterly collapsing.

Alvin Camara revealed this week that he's playing through a broken hand, which I mean, he's playing well through it. So I'm not trying to, you know, say he's playing poorly. But it's just even the guys who are out there and playing are playing hurt. After a 2-0 start when everybody was crowning this team, everything has gone wrong for the Saints. I predict the slide will continue. Will there be Saints fans in L.A.?

I'm sure of it. I don't care. Give me the Chargers Lane 7 against the Saints. Yeah, even these Saints fans, I don't even know if they want to show up for this game. I think they know that they're, they're, their season's kind of going down the drain. They were emptying out the Super Dome. Alvin Kamara mentioned it. He said, I've never seen that. And I don't blame them. He said,

they're leaving early. I don't blame them, he said. And then he signed a $25 million contract. So good for you, Alvin. Yeah, they've, you know, Paulson Adiba. They lost another, you know, key player for them last week, obviously, Rashid, Shahid. That came out right before Thursday night that he would be out for the rest of the season. So they do, they might get Chris Olavé back. Caesar Ruiz might return, but they're just decimated across the board. So I guess my only reservation with, I probably wouldn't get to the window on this one, but I guess my only reservation is just the way that chargers are kind of playing. They want to play this methodical way.

They're not really a team that's going to blow many teams out, but maybe the Saints team. This is a, I can't really get to the window betting on the Saints right now. They're collapsing as we see. Yeah, as they say, a one-way team. And I yeah, them and the Panthers right now. Those those are two teams that I even the Patriots as well. Oh, yeah, after I bet on the Patriots last week.

It's all that went against the Jags. I thought that was 10 nothing. They got out. They jumped on. I was like, oh, baby. Yeah, 10 nothing. I was like, this is a great bet. And then just everything goes wrong.

Oh, boy, such is life when betting these heavy underdogs and betting these crappy team. So I'm going the other way, Tom. I'm going to bet against one of these crappy teams. teams. You know, seven is a lot to lay with the LA Chargers, but I'm laying it against Spencer Rattler. Tom, I'm going to give everybody an opportunity to just stand up, stretch their legs, go walk around, just take a deep breath. And I am on to something here, you know, whether it's me winning or me losing every pick.

You know, I'm right where I need to be. I'm right next to it. I can feel it coming. And let's say my cup is going to run over this week with some money with some big wins. Trey, I thought you were going to get the last leg of your parlay last week just to get one. But then you ended up breaking Chris Godwin's leg. I am pinning this on you. You ruined so many fantasy teams.

And I'm going to, I'm putting it all on your shoulders for that. I ruined a lot of best ball teams, a lot of my own, a lot of my own redraft teams. You know, I shouldn't have done it. I shouldn't have taken him. I had too much at risk there with him. I believe I said last week that I didn't even have to, you know, basically, justify the pick that it was just going to happen and there's nothing to worry about. So that's a miscalculation there by me. I shouldn't have put that, uh, put Chris Godwin on the line like that.

But big ups to, uh, to Chris Godwin. We're, we're hoping for a quick recovery here. We're Joe and I are Penn State guys. So, uh, we hated to see that. And he, he carried a lot of fancy teams through this first seven weeks. So, uh, we're, we're hoping for a quick recovery for Chris. How about his mental tough? I don't know how you get this mentally tough. I really don't. Where he's like, He's sitting there with like his foot dangling from his ankle. And he's like, up, back to work. Back to work. He told the trainer.

Apparently, according to Ian Rappaport, I guess it was as clean dislocation or as clean as it can be. So there's actually a very slim chance he could return this season. So at least that's good news in that regard from Chris Godwin. But just really best thoughts to him. He was a badass this year. Joe, you had the tweet. He played, you know, Chris Godwin was playing the Cooper Cup role.

and who could play the Cooper Cup role for them. Yeah, I was like, my tweet was, uh, tired was Chris Godwin in Dave Canales's offense. Wired was Chris Godwin playing the Cooper Cup role in Liam Cohen's offense and inspired is Cooper Cup playing the Cooper Cup role in Liam Cohen's offense. So let's see if he gets traded to the bucks. But barring something really big changing between our recording of this and the game tomorrow night, Cooper Cup will take the field to the Los Angeles. ramps and i believe there is some serious action from good friend trey that involves cooper cup well first i

got to say my action's always serious okay i don't have any unsurious action so that's a given uh i i am going with the cooper cup ladder tonight uh because last weekend you know it doesn't get mentioned you know i did have a nice johnu smith ladder i put in the discord for the folks that was fantastic you should have said it on this podcast that would have been the skankiest one of all time i didn't I didn't get to it until after I talked to Russ and Johnny. And once I knew that they were kind of, they kind of led me down that path. So,

Maybe. Let me throw some stats at you real quick, okay? The Vikings defense, they're giving up the second most schedule adjusted fantasy points for game to wide receivers in the slot. We talked about the Godwin role, the Cooper Cup rolls, the slot God. Okay, he ranks 18th this year in the NFL in route percentage from the slot. That's a minimum of 50 routes. And then he was 22nd last year in a minimum of 200 routes. So he plays in the slot, okay? They look to get him involved early and often. And I want to rip through some numbers here with you. guys. Okay. The Vikings, right? They've already had their buy, so they've played six games, okay? Let me take you through their last five games. Amonrae St. Brown, 112 yards. Garrett Wilson, 101 yards.

Jaden Reed, 139 yards. Stefan Diggs, 94 yards. I think Nico Collins also had like 80 to 90 yards. Debo Samuel, 110 yards. It happens. It happens every week. They're giving you know and everyone's talking about this is a great Vikings defense and it is But they are giving up yards to wide receivers in the slot. It's happening

One more point I would like to make. Okay. And I'm going to call this my rust free guarantee. Okay. Cooper Cup is coming back Rust free. Okay. He loves a good return game week one this year Popped off. We saw it 110 yards in 2023. Okay. After missing four games his next two games back, 118 yards and 148 yards, okay? You don't have to worry about the rust with Cooper Cup. He's coming back.

He's ready to go. Yeah, Jordan Winnington is also out. That was a little piece of news that came down Wednesday. He's the guy that kind of works in the slot a little bit. So that kind of got me on this one too, just the fact that it doesn't seem like he'll be limited at all here. But I also think he, it seemed like he could have played last.

Last week, that was the whole talk. Schefter had the report before they're by. They're targeting week seven. And then last week came around. He was practicing on a limited basis. But it seemed like they thought, hey, we could probably beat this Raiders team. Let's give up an extra couple of days. Get him right.

More important game against the Vikings in week eight. So I think he is fully healthy here and should be ready to go tonight. So Tom, are you tailing this? bet or do you have a i did but i i got to say there there there there are some skeptical people out there in our discord you know who plays for the vikings the stopper the cooper cup stopper over the last couple of years byron murphy one byron murphy he's been getting torched this year he's given up you know a point four fantasy points per drop back he's getting smoked yeah he's getting smoked all the time but he is the cooper cup stopper i mean even that triple

I would like to say, too, with the trade rumors, okay? It's just like fantasy football. If you put a guy on the block, nobody wants to see this guy go three for 20, okay?

They want to see him blow up. The Rams, if they're really trying to trade Cooper Cup and they're really looking for a big return, they're going to use them early. They're going to use them off and they're going to pepper him with target. It's the counter argument to that, okay, is they don't want him to get hurt. Obviously, that's a big thing. But I think you got to, like, get him out there for one more game, show that he's still Cooper Cup, show that he's not going to get stopped by Byron Murphy,
