Starting point is 00:00:00 Week 14, fantasy football start-sit decisions, which players should you have in your lineup, which players should be on your benches, and which players should you be stashing for the fantasy football playoffs? Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger, and Graham Barfield on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network and Fantasy Points YouTube. Graham, we're end of the line here. We've been doing this every single week. Last week we took a week off. We're back at it for week 14. This is an important one because you've got fantasy managers who are clamoring for that very important buy week in the first week of the fantasy playoffs. You've got a whole other mess of managers who might be in the five seed, the six seed, the seven seed that are hanging on for their fantasy playoff lives right now.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Then you've got other leagues where people are playing for the money, where the point. points scored in the regular season equals a payout. So you have a ton of pressure on the line, and the NFL gives us four teams on a buy week. Kind of a mess. Shout out to the NFL, putting Christian McCaffrey on a bye week in week 14, probably not the best way about going about things. But one player broke out in a significant way last week.
Starting point is 00:01:22 During Thanksgiving week, we saw Adonine Mitchell just go nuts, eight catches, 112 yards, and a touchdown, 12 target. It's exactly what we wanted to see when it was sort of dreaming up the ideal usage for Adonai when he was traded from Indianapolis to New York. We saw him have a spike week. We saw Tyrod Taylor target him 12 times. Is that enough for you to trust him in week 14 and make him a locked in starter? Trust in Adonai, Mitchell, typically don't go in the same sentence together.
Starting point is 00:01:53 So I don't know if I'm fully trusting. The one thing I do trust, man, is the volume. It's been amazing here for Mitchell since Garrett Wilson went out with that. injury. He's got 22, 25, and 36% of the Jets targets. And you guys know me. I mean, I'm just, I chase volume. That's all I do. That's, that's like the name of the game for receivers, especially this season, man. Like, we've got some horses at the top. And then, like, everything after wide receiver 10 to 12 this week is kind of one big pool. A.D. Mitchell is certainly, like, in the mix as among one of the best wide receiver two and three plays on the slate, even though, like,
Starting point is 00:02:27 yeah, we still don't fully trust the hands. He gets open at a, extremely high rate. This is a player who's always popped in our average separation score metrics here at Fantasy Points Data. And it's a pretty good matchup. I mean, Miami has held their own on the outside, but like this game has some sneaky shootout upside. I, you know, I can squint and see some big plays here with with A. Chan and Waddle on the other side for the Dolphins, kind of, you know, creating a good game environment. But yeah, I think A.D. Mitchell is rightfully the, you know, WaverWire Darling this week. He was widely available. And I think if you're in a pinch, you got four teams on a buy this week, a bunch of receiver injuries to kind of work through this
Starting point is 00:03:03 week, Theo. Yeah, A.D. Mitchell is certainly at the top of the wide receiver two, three pool. Yeah, and I talked about with Brett Whitefield. Brett came on Fantasy Football Daily earlier this week, and I want to chase ceilings. I don't want to chase floors this time of year. I think a lot of times when you play it safe and you play sort of, oh, this guy is going to end up with 11, 12 ppr points. You end up losing your matchup because the stakes are higher in week 14. And I want to swing for the fences as much as possible. I don't want to play it necessarily as safe. So can Adonai Mitchell let us down? Of course. Could it flip back to John Mechie? Mechie was targeted last week as well. It just didn't really flow his way.
Starting point is 00:03:43 But Adonai Mitchell, we love the athleticism. We love the talent. We've loved the separation ability. Scott Barrett's been on him for a long time. This seems like it's happening for Adonai Mitchell. And I think when we fast forward to our preseason start sit decision, like right before week one in 2026, there's a chance we're talking about, do you have Adonai Mitchell in the flex this week, depending on what New York does at the quarterback spot? I think he's that talented that I think he could grab a hold of the wide receiver two spot opposite of Garrett Wilson.
Starting point is 00:04:16 So very enthusiastic about Adonai Mitchell. Another wide receiver who had a really strong week last week was Devon Velae. And this one, I think, is significant and a little bit under the radar because of Mitchell. New Orleans was coming off of their buy week, and we saw Devon Vele have this really strong performance. Again, New Orleans was trailing, but we saw Tyler Shuck target Velae in key moments, and we saw Velae be very, very efficient with his targets. He caught all of them. He had a touchdown. Where are you at on Vailay? We love betting on sort of Kellyn Moore guys. That's a big part of it, is just betting on the volume of this offense. I'm also a little bummed at
Starting point is 00:04:56 myself. I should have been on Valey a couple weeks ago because he finally, you know, got promoted to being a full-time player once they moved on from Brandon Cucks. And this team desperately needed a number two wide receiver. Seven targets two weeks ago, he got eight. This past weekend's Miami, like you mentioned. And, you know, I'm not as near as excited as I am about A.D. Mitchell. I don't think there's as near as much upside. But at the same time, like, we're just star for receiver plays this week. Like, maybe you just lost Amon-Ross St. Brown as well. Yeah, I think, I think there's a chance. Valet continues to have this, you know, decent volume. I still like Joanne Johnson here
Starting point is 00:05:30 as well. I think the big thing here, man, is like, Tyler Shuck, like, he's, he can kind of spin it. Like, he's not afraid to throw in a tight windows. He's had a pretty high average depth of target. He's been among the top three quarterbacks in terms of his deep throw rate. So while I'm not super excited about Valet's, like, individual talent, I think this, the Saints offense has been pretty good all year, like in terms of production in the receiver room for their tight ends. So, I mean, you know, Olave is. is the locked in one, but there's certainly enough volume to go around here. It's funny. I had this conversation with Brad and a couple other people.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Tyler Shuck might survive this thing. He looked like the ultimate bridge quarterback for a guy who would be a quarterback for this season, and then the Saints would draft another quarterback in the, in the 2026 draft, and Shuck would sort of fall back in line as sort of a backup quarterback. I don't think it's necessarily an indicative of Tyler Shuck's a stud, but I think he's done enough that if they don't fall in love with a Ty Simpson, with a Fernando Mendoza, or Dante Moore, if he comes out, I think there's a chance that they say,
Starting point is 00:06:40 you know what, we'll figure a quarterback out in 2027, and we're just rolling with Tyler Shuck year two. He's got some experience with Kellynne Moore. Let's sort of see which way this goes and we'll draft the best player on the board. So, yeah, I'm sort of with you. Shuck has had several games now where he's had 200 plus passing yards and like two touchdowns in multiple games. He's got a little bit of mobility. And with the Kellynmore offense, they run a ton of plays.
Starting point is 00:07:05 So the pace of the play is good. Chris Alave is second in the NFL in targets right now at the wide receiver position. But I think these secondary players are interesting ones. Let's talk about another secondary player. The fear of the Tassum Hill game was completely out the window. So we saw Devin Neal put up about 9.5, 9.8 fantasy points, PPR-wise. He caught a few passes a little bit as a runner. But I think that the usage was promising enough that maybe we see him turn 9.8, 10 points into 14 points.
Starting point is 00:07:42 And I think for a lot of fantasy managers, they'd love to throw a 14-pointer in the RB2 spot, especially in a week where Trayvion Henderson, RICO Dowdell, and CMC, Christian McCaffrey, are all in Byweek. Yeah, it's just one of those things, man. We're chasing the volume. Neil played 81% of the snaps. I kind of expected to be like 65, 70%,
Starting point is 00:08:03 but this is an even better role than I expected. Evan Hull is just kind of mixing in as a change of paceback. Not a great matchup. Bucks have been really good on the ground as of late. But yeah, I think Neil is going to be in play in our flex spots every week, man. I think that's kind of the way this thing's trending.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Yeah, I think Neil, like, maybe has just as much juice, if not more juice than what we saw from Alvin Kamara a lot of the year too. So I think that Neal is in sort of a decent spot. I used them in a flex spot last week in an important league, and I'm probably going to do the same this week. Again, has the potential because of the two-way ability and the snap share to give you a couple of like 15, 14 point weeks. So yeah, I guess I'm into sixth round pick, Devin Neal. And it's really a testament to just how strong the running back draft class was in 2025. And I know you break down the running backs in the rookie classes as well as
Starting point is 00:08:59 anybody, Graham. And we saw Devin Neal go late on day three. We also saw Kyle Munungai fall to round seven to Chicago. We saw that the Chicago Bears put up a massive number on Black Friday in Philly, 280-plus rushing yards as a team against the Eagles. which is wild stuff. Philadelphia has been very strong against the run this year. The previous high was like 180 yards allowed.
Starting point is 00:09:28 So they had nearly 100 more yards than any other team. And it was really behind the strength of this like two-headed backfield. It's sort of the Jemir Gibbs, David Montgomery model that we saw with Ben Johnson in Detroit is now being replicated on like a lower scale with D'Andre Swift and with Kyle Menunfrey. guy, are we at the point where we are going to start both of these players and just use them both? Or are you still trying to sift through and go one or the other and like pick a side? That's all I wrote it up last week. I had both in the Flex RB2 category worked out really well. And it's it's not necessarily a talent thing. It's just a Ben Johnson thing. The guy is an absolute
Starting point is 00:10:12 wizard. He is calling the best offense in the NFL. He has an incredible run scheme. I mean, he literally had the Eagles defensive line and linebackers in hell last week. If the Packers have one weakness, obviously great pass rush. They've been really stingy in the secondary. They've been kind of gashable a little bit on the ground in the back half of this year. This just screams to me like we're going to hand the ball off 30 times in this spot, keep Jordan Love off the field. I have no idea who's going to lead this backfield and carries from a week-to-week basis.
Starting point is 00:10:44 It kind of feels like a hot hand thing. My guess would be swift is still the 1A. It certainly could be Menungi if he gets the hot hand. That being said, though, man, yeah, we're just, just chase this volume, this, this Bears passing, Bears' offense is flipped to being run heavy as of late. Yeah, man, I think, I think that's the way this thing is trending. I have, next year is going to be really interesting to see who's the Bears top running back
Starting point is 00:11:06 because I will want to draft them on all of my teams. Yeah, it's a very interesting situation. And you've got to think that Kyle Menongai has done enough to sort of maybe carve out a role next year. but I don't think that any, like, even the biggest Kyle Monongai enthusiast would be sort of really over the top if they thought he would lead the room next year. They were very close to drafting like an Ashton Genti, really wanted to get Trayvon Henderson in the second round.
Starting point is 00:11:32 They've really maxed out what they've gotten out of DeAndre Swift this year and for that matter what they've gotten out of Menongai. But you're absolutely right. Ben Johnson, just an RB whisperer, RB2 seasons out of Dave, or better, out of David Montgomery and Jemir Gibbs. We saw it in 2023 where both those guys finished as like high-end RB2s. Last season in 2024, there was for a long period of the season,
Starting point is 00:11:57 those two guys were both like top eight scores at the running back position. And then Montgomery missed a little bit of time. Jamir Gibbs went nuclear down the stretch. But the year before, it was D'Andre Swift and Jamal Williams, who both finished as like top 18 scores at the running back spot. So Ben Johnson does this every single year. and it's continued in Chicago, and it's a way to sort of protect this offense. Really, really impressed by what Ben Johnson has done this year, obviously winning a ton of games.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Green Bay twice next couple weeks, so we'll see. But nothing, like, nothing will surprise me here. Chicago sweeping the Packers wouldn't surprise me. The Packers sweeping Chicago wouldn't surprise me. And I think a split seems like it could happen as well. We're going to talk about the quarterback position, a real key one this week in week 14, with a lot of pressure on the line for a number of fantasy managers.

Welcome back, Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger,
Starting point is 00:13:56 Graham Barfield, every single week here on Fantasy Football Daily and the Fantasy Points Podcast Network. Shameless promotion, I'm starting a new podcast, 2026 NFL Draft podcast, Brett Whitefield and I every single week. We're recording episode number one this week. It's going to drop on here right on the Fantasy Points YouTube channel. We're going to break down all the prospects. We're going to talk NFL draft.
Starting point is 00:14:19 We're also going to talk fantasy football. Everything you need to know about the 2026 class, we're breaking it down. We're getting started early here. Really going to be a fun show. Looking forward to recording that with Brett every single week. But Graham, let's get back at it here. Let's talk about some of these quarterbacks. And you mentioned Jordan Love.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Jordan Love was outstanding on Thanksgiving Day. Sort of a slate-breaking performance if you use Jordan Love and pretty much any of his past catchers. If you used Don Tavian Wicks and DFS with Jordan Love, you probably won some money. If you use Christian Watson with Jordan Love, you probably won some money. Jordan Love had four passing touchdowns. They win on the road in Detroit.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Things seem to be trending up for Jordan Love. We could see Jaden Reed returning. Josh Jacobs only missed one game. We had the sort of low-scoring performance in Minnesota, and then we had the huge performance in Detroit. What do we see this week against the Chicago Bears in Green Bay? Yeah, I was wrong about Love last week. He was awesome.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I was concerned about this offense without Tucker Kraft, and I think I'd been proven right for their first couple of games without him, but they kind of found something last week, and then you mentioned they get Jaden Reed back, a real spark plug in this. offense, you know, who can create big plays like Christian Watson. It's going to be huge. Chicago's kind of sneakishly been a bad secondary all year. I know they've dealt with injuries. They just got Jalen Johnson back, but they're giving up the fourth most passing fantasy points
Starting point is 00:15:49 per dropback. Theo, I mean, this is kind of a gross week 14 slate. I mean, we've got no Patriots, no Niners, no Panthers, no giants, and we've got a bunch of game totals that are just like between 41 and 44. This is one of those games that has a slight change. chance to kind of bust out for, you know, two good play callers. Obviously, some guys on both sides who can create big plays. I like this, this game environment a little bit for love. I think he's a low-end quarterback one this week. And I've kind of bumped him up a little bit for the rest of the season. Getting Jaden Reed back is huge. Yeah, it's the eye test, the vibes. Everything just seemed really locked in on Thanksgiving. And I think they also get the advantage of the long
Starting point is 00:16:32 week, as does Chicago. Chicago gets a one fewer day, but you get like a real opportunity for Green Bay to sort of ramp up. Jaden Reed sort of completes this wide receiver room where you get the slot element, you get sort of the manufactured plays. But we talked about Christian Watson for multiple weeks. The guy looks awesome. The guy looks healthy. Don Tavian Wicks. We actually have to talk about Don Tavian Wicks on the WaverWire show again. It's like this guy won't go away. Every time you write Don Tavian Wicks off, he ends up having a week and then you have to write about him It's like a cycle of waiver wire violence. But Dantabian Wix looked awesome.
Starting point is 00:17:09 I think Jordan Love continues. And I think there's a chance, if you look at this schedule for Green Bay, that there's going to be an opportunity to put up some numbers for him in the playoffs. Week 15 at Denver, very tricky game. But week 16 in Chicago, Ben Johnson's going to put the pressure on them. Like you said, that's secondary. And sometimes when you play a team twice in three weeks, which is also another obsessive.
Starting point is 00:17:32 of the NFL gram that you see these like same same team on the schedule two out of three weeks it's just so weird but then week 17 Green Bay hosts the Baltimore Ravens we just saw Joe Burrow look very very good against this team Baltimore's been a really sort of a little bit generous at times to opposing QBs I think Jordan Love could put up numbers in the playoffs so I'm with you here start Jordan Love this week and hopefully this is the a step forward where you're feeling a lot more confident about him in the fantasy playoffs. Let's talk about Trevor Lawrence, another win for the Jacksonville Jaguars. We saw Trevor Lawrence throw several touchdown passes in this one.
Starting point is 00:18:13 We saw Brian Thomas return. Lawrence had no interceptions. He had two touchdown passes. He also gave you 25 yards as a runner. And it could have been more, but Jacksonville was in complete control of this one. They win 25 to 3 against Tennessee. and we had the interceptions in week 12, but Lawrence did have three touchdown passes.
Starting point is 00:18:37 So five touchdown passes in weeks 12 and week 13, now a game where you mentioned there's no, there's a lot of games with weird low totals. It sort of feels from a DFS perspective, Indian Atlas Jacksonville could end up being a game that pivots over. Oh, yeah, for sure. And it would if we knew Daniel Jones were fully healthy. That's a part of it.
Starting point is 00:18:59 for sure with this Lawrence spot. I hesitate to say that he's been, like, good for fantasy, but low-end quarterback one over the last five weeks, he's the QB-11 by fantasy points per game, only about a point behind Jalen Hertz. I question the ceiling unless he runs in a touchdown, which has been kind of random, but this certainly obviously could be a spot
Starting point is 00:19:20 that does tilt towards the over 48-and-a-half game total is really strong. You know, it's a two-fold thing with Lawrence. It's like, you know, he's been producing okay without his top receivers. And now he's got Brian Thomas back. Jacoby Myers is really starting to pop. I love Brenton Strange this week. You know, Parker Washington did have his role kind of cut down last week. But like he's got this like, you know, an actual NFL receiver group at this point.
Starting point is 00:19:45 It's just the right time in this like crucial spot to kind of decide the AFC South. It's wild that the Jags are even in this conversation, to be honest. The Colts were just steamrolling everybody for the first 10 weeks of the year. But yeah, you know, this is. is, I've always been lower on Lawrence just because I question the ceiling, but this certainly seems like a spot to stream them if you need a quarterback one. Again, no May, no dart this week, no purdy. We've got some quarterbacks coming back from injury in Jane Daniels. A lot of question marks at that spot. I think Lawrence certainly pops is like, you know, a low end quarterback one
Starting point is 00:20:18 and the best streamer on this slate, in my opinion. Yeah, he's very interesting this week. And the team seemed to be sort of heading in opposite directions. For me, at Indianapolis, a lot of times when we see teams sort of free fall or at least take a step back, we can circle one game. And with Indianapolis, it's the Kansas City game. They had the chief dead to rights.
Starting point is 00:20:39 We saw Patrick Mahomes lead the comeback. And Indy loses that one. And then the following week against Houston. And now if you look at their schedule, Jacksonville on the road in week 14 this week, Seattle next week in week 15, then, or excuse me, I'm actually looking at the,
Starting point is 00:20:57 Yeah, I got that one right. So it's Jacksonville in week 14, Seattle in week 15, and then San Francisco in week 16. Tricky, tricky matchups here for Indianapolis. So definitely an interesting game, definitely one with Trevor Lawrence. Backtrack over to Brenton Strange, because Brenton Strange now has a newfound opportunity
Starting point is 00:21:19 for even more volume with a potential injury to Parker, Washington. And even without the Washington injury, Strange has just looked really, really good. Back-to-back weeks of him providing a fantasy football impact. Your thoughts on Brenton Strange and his outlook for the rest of the season. Yeah, even if Washington plays, I think he's an awesome tight-in one. I mean, you look at the games that he's played this year, man.
Starting point is 00:21:42 He's been a top 12 fantasy tight-in. I think if he didn't get hurt in the middle of the year, we would be talking about him as a top-12 fantasy tight-end. He's tied-in eight by yards per game, averaging more yards per game than Sam LaPorte did in his starts. he's been the most efficient receiver on this team by yards per route run against zone and man coverage this season. And he's got a great matchup here. Colts have a really, really slow linebacking group. They're giving up the second most yards per game to tight ends only behind the bingles. So yeah, man, I think Strangers are a really strong, like, top six, top seven tight end play this week. And no one's really kind of considering him to be that. You know, I don't think he's going to lead this team in targets every single week. It probably is going to be pretty spread out. But, So offense has been pretty efficient, and again, great match-out. We did a flagplants on School of Scott.
Starting point is 00:22:31 We had Pat Karain on and Scott. Pat and I each dropped like our flagplants for the fantasy playoffs. Brett Whitefield also did his. Graham's going to drop his at the end of the show. But my flag plant tight end for the fantasy playoffs is Brenton Strange. I completely agree with you. I think like top 10 tight end is safe, but over a three-week sample size in the fantasy playoffs,
Starting point is 00:22:52 I think there's a chance that we see Brenton Strange, as like, dare I say it, a top five tight end? I think that the target volume is going to be there for him. And we've seen this. The history repeating itself. In 2023, it was Evan Engram in the fantasy playoffs. Trevor Lawrence continually targeting his tight end. I think we could see that again with Brent and Strange this season where I don't
Starting point is 00:23:15 obviously doesn't have the ceiling of like a McBride or a kiddle or a Bowers. But like after that, tight ends sort of wide open. I think it could be Brent and Strange, very, very enthusiastic. about him this week. Let's talk about Marcus Marriota. Really, really fun game. Denver wins 26, 2726, but Marcus Marietta gives you 55 rushing yards, and he gives you nearly 300 passing yards with two touchdown passes. And we saw the return of Terry McLaren, and McLaren was awesome. McLaren was like much better than I thought we would see from him. So Mariotta continues to give you a number of usable starts in games without Jaden Daniels.
Starting point is 00:24:00 He was very good against Detroit for fantasy. He was okay against Miami and then very good for fantasy against Denver. Now they have a positive matchup on the road in Minnesota. What's your enthusiasm level for Mariotta top 12 QB this week? Top 15. Where are you out on this one? Yeah, top 12 for sure. I think Lawrence probably like QB 10, QB 11, then Mario da,
Starting point is 00:24:23 to write behind him. And maybe that's wrong. I think maybe I'm underrating Marioada. I've had him on the streaming list every single week that he started this year except for last week against Denver and got that one wrong. I mean, he's just been awesome. You look at the last five weeks, he's QB6 and fantasy points per game trailing only Josh Allen, DAC, Dart, Brissette, and Stafford. You know, the offense has been very high volume under Cliff Kingsbury. So the volume's been good. He's been decently efficient as a passer. And then, you know, obviously he's just got this underrated rushing upside. 19 carries, 126 yards over his last three starts. I question the upside this week, though,
Starting point is 00:24:58 because, I mean, it's just, it's against the Vikings. J.J. McCarthy's making a start, like this, this Vikings offense has been dead for five, six weeks now. That being said, I mean, this is a tight spread. So, you know, it could be wrong about that one for sure. The end of the day, I mean, Mario deuter projects really well. Like you mentioned, McLaurin is looking very good. Debo's back fully healthy.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Obviously, Ertz is beaten zone coverage like he always does. It's a nice little, you know, trio of weapons he's got. So I'm back in on Marioo for sure this week. Okay, and I'll give you a real-life start-sit decision. This is a high-stakes FFPC Dynasty team, a tri-flex format. If anybody plays Dynasty and FPC, it's a start three-wide receiver, super flex, tight-end premium with extra flex spots, no kick or no defense. Start 10 for the non-FPC but dynasty manager out there.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I won this league last year. it's a $750 entry, so a real nice payout, won it last year. This year at quarterback, I've rostered like four guys, and I lost Kyler Murray early when he went out, but I had Jacoby Brissette. So this week, I have a real start-sit decision. One quarterback spot is Jared Gough, so that's locked in, and we're recording this before Thursday, so hopefully Gough goes nuts on Thursday night football. But the other quarterback spot is up in the air. Right now I have Marcus Marriota in, and I have him in over Jacoby Brissette and over Sam Darnold. You would go with that one, Graham, correct?
Starting point is 00:26:28 Yeah, I'd go Mario'd over Brissette this week. Slightly better matchup. Graham scare me a little bit. There we go. I'm trying to lock down the one seed. I think I'm guaranteed the two seed in this one. So a couple, nice little payout for the regular season two. So we'll follow up on this one, do a couple more real life starts-it decisions every
Starting point is 00:26:46 week moving forward. I know that a lot of you have huge, huge. starts at decisions this week. We're going to cover a couple of more players here. Let's talk about a quarterback situation that's very interesting. Justin Herbert gets surgery on Monday, but his status is still up in the air this week. Tricky matchup for the Chargers. They are coming off of the big win over sort of the hapless Las Vegas Raiders, but they play the Philadelphia Eagles. This game is in L.A. This game, correct me if I'm wrong, is the Monday night game. So we have a little bit longer time here. I'll throw this as a double start sit.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Justin Herbert, if he plays like a psychopath coming off of a surgery on Monday, or maybe it's the front office, it's a psychopath. But psychopath vibes for sure to get surgery and then play a few days later. Or Trey Lance, who I wrote about in the Waverwire column over at FantasyPoints.com, where with Trey Lance is a one-week fill-in, you do have the enticing, rushing, rushing upside, the mobility that Tray Lance brings to the table. So Herbert, Lance, let's throw them in as a package. Are you starting the L.A. Chargers quarterback this week against the Eagles? Yeah, I think if Ben Johnson proved anything last week is that you can clearly run on Philly and they're still a very tricky secondary. So I'm going to say sit both. You know, with Lance, like you said,
Starting point is 00:28:13 yeah, he does have the legs, which gives us an out. But, you know, Herbert's certainly not going to be running at all. Eagles have given up the fifth few as passing fantasy points per dropback. They're, you know, lead low in terms of the completion rate allowed. So it's already a pretty bad spot for the, you know, passing side of things here. And then you mentioned the fact that, yeah, Herbert might not be able to go under center. He might only be able to take snaps out of shotgun because his hand, you know, situation, wrist situation. So we'll see. At the end of the day, yeah, I'm just, I'm kind of avoiding this thing with Herbert. And for what it's worth, he's kind of been trending down as of late, man, outside of the top 15 scores among fantasy quarterbacks
Starting point is 00:28:50 since last three starts. And this is, you know, like we've been talking about, not the best spot. Yeah, for me, it's, they have eight wins. They're eight and four. I would sort of rest him this week. I don't know. It's just me. And I think one of the other players on L.A. that's giving a lot of people pause, Arronday Gadsden was sort of like this breadth of fresh air at the tight-end position where Gadsden gave you like four straight weeks of double-digit scoring performances, had a couple of massive spike weeks. And he did it in prime time where he was like shining in front of the entire country. We were, we already moved him up big time. We have updated dynasty rankings you can access over at fantasy points.com. And I'm unwavering with that one.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Oranda Gadsden is way, way up there in our tight-end premium rankings, way way up there in our PPR rankings. He's a locked-in high-end asset for Dynasty managers. But for redraft managers, can we trust him? Last week was a disaster. It was one reception. And again, this was coming out of the by week for L.A. There's been a number of theories with this. Some people have said Gadsden has had to block more because of the loss of Joe Alt. Brett Whitefield had a little bit of a pushback on some of these. But I'm curious to see your take. are we just going to trust the talent or are we going to go with,
Starting point is 00:30:14 to use this soccer term, the form of Arande Gadsden and the recent trend and look to pivot at the tight end position this week? I'm not concerned long term at all. It's like, you know, they've been featuring this guy
Starting point is 00:30:27 basically is like a one beat of McConkey you know, since week six or seven. To me, the bigger concern this week is just the matchup. You know, I was wrong about Gadsden last week was very enthusiastic about him, loved him in that matchup. But, you know, Herbert only had to throw it 20 times in that game. And when that happens, especially for tight ends, like, it just gets really thin, really fast.
Starting point is 00:30:50 And only 20 pass attempts. Again, that would be a concern this week is that, you know, Chargers just try to run a little bit more with their quarterback beat up. Really, my main thing this week is, I mean, Jihad Campbell and Zach Bonn, these guys are just destroying tight ends. Like league low yards per target allowed, league low and yards per game allowed, or maybe the second fewest. I have Gadsden listed as a set this week. I don't feel super comfortable about it. It's really just due to the matchup. But, yeah, long term, I'm not concerned, man.
Starting point is 00:31:15 He's a real deal. Yeah, there you go. Bet on talent situation with Gadsden and sort of the ebbs and flows of the season. And like you said, there's just a lot of past catchers in L.A. So it could end up being Gadsden returning to scoring points in week 15 when it matters a little more for most of you than in week 14. We've got two Denver Broncos that we've got to talk about.
Starting point is 00:31:36 right after this. At Fandual Casino, you get even more ways to play. Starting point is 00:33:00 All right, welcome back. Let's talk about the Denver Broncos. the 10 and two Denver Broncos are competing for the one seed in the AFC right now. New England, of course, leading it. But if Denver wins this week, Denver is going to have an opportunity to be tied with New England for the one seed. A lot to play for right now. Bo Nix, are we starting Bo Nix this week? A lot to play for for Denver here.
Starting point is 00:33:28 What's your confidence level in using Bo Nix? And that last week, again, 321 passing yards against Washington did have the interception, minimal rushing production, sort of a not that exciting fantasy performance for Knicks, but it was better than the disaster starts we saw in weeks 10 and weeks 11. Where are you out on Knicks for this week and also for the rest of the season? Yeah, I've been low on Nick's rest of season since like week three or four. I remain low on him this week. And yeah, he played better last week, but was still out. outside of the top 15 scores among quarterbacks last week.
Starting point is 00:34:05 That's his fourth straight week where he's finished outside the top 15. Basically, his only three good games this year came against the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Bengals. You know, this spot, like, is pretty easy. I mean, Raiders defense is burnable, but, you know, how much push do we really think Gino Smith and the Raiders are going to provide here? Like, do we really think this game is going to be close in the second half? I realize the Broncos keep playing in these one-score games,
Starting point is 00:34:28 and they have this black magic where they can't lose it. these one-score games, but I really question the Raiders' ability to kind of keep this game close against this defense that's fully healthy now, now that Sir Tan's back. Nick's to me is like a low ceiling QB2 this week. How far does Denver go
Starting point is 00:34:45 in the NFL playoffs? Is this a team that is going to get like a really nice seed and then lose their first game? It feels like they have a wide range of outcomes. So I called the Broncos my Super Bowl sleeper in August. And I'm of two minds, because
Starting point is 00:35:01 is like, yeah, they've kind of played the defense that I expected. But at the same time, this offense has just been outright bad at times. Right now, I'm leaning more towards like, yeah, they get a good seed, but they could certainly be a one and done type team. This offense, like, really needs to take flight this last month here. Yeah, RJ Harvey, nice matchup against the Raiders this week. For sure, Harvey had a nice performance last week. That's sort of a locked-in starter.
Starting point is 00:35:27 One player that's going to be very tempting for a lot of fantasy managers, Evan Engram, who was drafted very highly in the preseason, has been a disaster for almost the entire year. But we've seen the target volume tick up. Five targets, five targets, and now nine targets in week 13, which was a season high, season high six catches, a season high 79 yards, and a season high 13.9 ppr points. Is Evan Engram, is this going to be like a ghost of fantasy playoffs passed where Evan Engram just sort of puts it on for the end of the season and we just forget about the early season production or is this the player that's been failing to put up numbers almost every other week and we should just not even consider him despite the strong performance
Starting point is 00:36:14 against Washington. Yeah, still full fade and it's it's like Sean Payton just can't help himself. You know, last week Pat Bryant out snapped Troy Franklin by like one or two in terms of Rout share. Ingram is just going to be capped in this offense like Sutton's clear the one, but then they're just going to rotate these guys through. I can't do it. And especially this week, like I said, I really think the Broncos, like, kind of have a lower volume passing offense type day just because this Raiders' offense has been so bad. Yeah, can't trust him. I wouldn't mind if, like, in your league, if Engram's out there for free, I wouldn't mind rostering him just to see if we see similar targets this week. And then maybe
Starting point is 00:36:54 we have another conversation about him next week. So very, very interesting one for sure. let's talk about D.K. Metcath. What are we doing with D.K. Metcath this week. Yeah, keep sitting them. I've been writing it up as a sit every single week for the last couple weeks. It was a flex play and I just got that wrong for a while there. He's just been dead for the last like seven weeks, man. Like, you know, it's a combination of things. It's like this passing offense obviously does not have a field stretcher opposite of him. I would love to like write this up as a good matchup, but he's had a number of good matchups. This is another good match up against the Ravens then he's just completely airballed in um yeah i i just i just can't do it with
Starting point is 00:37:34 these you know arthur smith led offenses man they're just they're just like fantasy black holes of production we have a compartmentalized backfield split uh spread out target chair uh that's the one main thing i i was you know i was pretty in on metcalf this year simply because i thought he would get the majority of the targets here and it's just been you know spread out basically the whole middle of the season uh yeah i I don't think you can really use Metcalf with any level of confidence, even if he has a good game this week, like rest of season, your confidence level with him is like one out of ten.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Yeah, Metcalf is an absolute disaster. Over the last five games played, he's had one game with double-digit PPR points, and we haven't seen a single game over the last five with 50 receiving yards. So this is an absolute mess. I'm looking to break ties against D.K. wherever possible. I think this is like Jalen Warren trustworthy this week. I don't really like anybody else in Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:38:34 This is a mess of a team fantasy-wise. And what an absolute disaster for the Steelers with George Pickens completely thriving, putting up this league-winning season in Dallas, and the player that they brought in and paid this massive amount of money in D.K. Meckoff looks cooked right now. So really an absolute mess, long-term and short-term for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Graham, I think we covered pretty much everyone on our list. So I'm going to pivot this show over.
Starting point is 00:39:06 On School of Scott, Pat Corain came on with Scott and I. We dropped our flag plant players for the fantasy playoffs. Brett Whitefield did the exact same right here on Fantasy Football Daily. And I dropped my own players as well. The questions are going to be each and every position, sort of a non-obvious league winner type. And I'll preface this with last year. Anyone who played fantasy football,
Starting point is 00:39:33 Jonathan Taylor, if you used him in the fantasy playoffs, you probably won your league or you finished second. He was that good down the stretch. But Taylor was not a player that we would have necessarily bet on in week 13, week 14 to be the league winner. It happens every year where it's sort of the non-obvious guy ends up making a huge impact. So let's start out at the quarterback position.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Give us a quarterback that you feel like is set to have a massive fantasy playoffs. It feels like a wide open year for QB here, Graham. It is wide open. And this one is a little obvious now that he's back fully healthy, but it's hard not to love this schedule for Joe Burrow. He gets, you know, bills this week, high-scoring game environment. Then he gets the Ravens back at home,
Starting point is 00:40:17 another high-scoring game environment. It gets Miami, week 16, in Miami. Lots of big plays there. with A. Chan and Waddle. Then he gets the Cardinals, Week 17. We've all had that game earmarked all year. Jacoby Brissette, obviously, has kind of provided, you know, huge spark for the Cardinals and all their game environments have been really good in terms of the scoring and pace. He's clearly healthy, man, like 40 plus dropbacks last week. He had 46 pass attempts, 47 dropbacks in total. You know, this team stinks, obviously. This Bengals defense is terrible. The past volume
Starting point is 00:40:47 is going to be amazing. It's kind of all the same things we were saying about Borough to start this year. So I know it hasn't worked out this year if you drafted them. He's certainly, you know, because of the injury, been a dud for fantasy. But I think there's a real chance Burroughs like QB5 rest of season, you know? Yeah. And it's interesting. When you talk about some of these guys that came back into lineups last week, if you were able to survive the regular season in like an NFFC, an FPC, or an underdog best ball mania, and you can get into the sprint with a Joe Burrow team, there's going to be far fewer Joe Burrow teams out there. So, yeah, a chance to not only have a player scoring a ton of fantasy points,
Starting point is 00:41:28 but also have a player that gives you sort of a unique situation and a unique lineup where you can sort of get leverage against the field. I love that call with Burrow. My running back was Chase Brown. So I'm happy to hear your enthusiasm about the Cincinnati Bengals in general. But let's hear your running back. which running back do you think is set to have a massive fantasy playoff scoring and can sort of move needles for fantasy managers to actually win leagues?
Starting point is 00:41:57 I think it was on this show. I called Bucky Irving a bye like three or four weeks ago when he was in the middle of the injury. And it's because of this playoff schedule. Like, yeah, this week maybe not super great against the Saints, but he gets the Falcons, the Panthers, and then the Dolphins week 17. Obviously fully healthy. Got a huge role last week that should only tick up. He's clearly, you know, Belkow status, I think, rest of the season.
Starting point is 00:42:18 And, dude, he had two touchdowns called back, dude, a penalty last week, too. And the one was so stupid. Yeah, the one was, it was, it was egregious. It was a bad call. So, I mean, the arrow is just, like, massively ticked up on Bucky. You know, obviously, hopefully you traded for him if you were, you know, in contention, got a, you know, great price on that. But, yeah, Bucky is like, top 10 pretty easily rest of the way.
Starting point is 00:42:43 I could squint and see, like, top six upside, too. Yeah, I would love to see that one for, for, Bucky Irving. I still have a couple of Bucky Irving teams rocking. Wide receiver. My answer for this one was Jameson Williams. I think James and Williams to the moon. Not only did we see it on Thanksgiving, but I think it continues. Make sure you check out School of Scott and here is sort of my expanded answer on that one. You can subscribe to School of Scott anywhere you get your podcasts. And if you're watching this show on Fantasy Points YouTube, it's like two shows previous in our rotation here. How about for you
Starting point is 00:43:16 though, Graham, who's a wide receiver that you are pounding the table and saying this dude is going to put up points in the playoffs? All right. I would have picked JMO. I love it. I love it. Because, Graham, because you're a real one. And real ones recognize what Jameson Williams is about to do. He's about to go nuts. So I'm glad you're on that one. Yeah. I mean, anytime I, every time I watch him, man, it's just like, how does this guy not have 150 yards every week? Now you mentioned the injuries, no Leporto, no, I'm in wrong. So that would be my pick. I'll go off the board and take another guy who's been spending the last middle of the season on the injury report and that's tera mccloren like we were just talking earlier this year or earlier in the show like mcclorn been complete dud all season comes back
Starting point is 00:43:56 looks by far the health healthiest he's been i was with you like two quatt he's had this quad injury all year he re-agravated it like what kind of form is he actually in uh and he was awesome last week gets two great matchups wedged in between a matchup which the eagles in week 16 that's not great but yeah he gets the giants and the cowboys weeks 15 and 17 jaden daniels might be coming back to i've loved this washington passing offense all year it's just been you know pretty good in terms of the volume very predictable we know where cliff wants to go with the ball mccloren to me is is that guy kind of like off the board wide receiver two who everybody kind of thought was dead now gets this chance to have a really nice role really good volume looks fully healthy and he's got two really nice matchups
Starting point is 00:44:41 during the playoffs. That was actually Scott Barrett's guy. So you and Scott, without even talking to each other, had the exact same answer for this question. It makes me love Terry McLaren. I have some Terry McLaren exposure, a ton of it in Dynasty. So I hope you guys are right on this one.
Starting point is 00:44:56 But yeah, McClorin, there's a chance where I think he gets drafted around the exact same range as we saw him get drafted in this season because we saw it last week where the tough matchup against Denver and he still puts up huge numbers. and the target volume, locked in. We know Jaden Daniels and him have a connection, but the connection between Marriota and McLaren has also been lights out when they've been healthy together.
Starting point is 00:45:21 So love that you're on McLaren there. How about the tight end position, Graham? This is, again, like quarterback, sort of wide open. Brenton Strange was my guy for this one. I know you like him. Is there any other tight ends that you want to pound the table for that you think could have a huge fantasy playoffs? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:38 I love your strange call. I'm going to go Darren Waller my fourth player that's been hurt dude it's just they don't have a second receiver and this this playoff schedule is is perfect I mean you couldn't really ask for anything better they get the Steelers than the bingles in week 16 and then the bucks it's by far the best playoff schedule any tight-in gets he's clearly fully healthy got a 67% route share last week so yeah I'm very bullish on on Waller it's close between he and Strange though I probably would have picked Strange if you know put a, you know, water gun to my head. But yeah, man, I, I think Waller, very sneaky, like, top eight, you know, potential for the rest of the season here. I love it. It was awesome, awesome calls all around Graham. Awesome calls in the start sits. What do you have going on the rest of the week? Yeah, start sit will be out as usual on Thursday. Then I'll be on cashing points. As always, 7 o'clock Eastern.
