What?
What are you shaking your head?
You're welcome.
Welcome to the CFF All Access and Live stream.
We're excited to be here tonight.
Got my boy Froton coming in at just the last minute from his amazing trip to Las Vegas to see the USC LSU game.
And then we are joined by Mr. J.D. Yankee for the first time.
He has joined Fancy Points writing about DFS and our best.
Betts column as well with Froton.
And so super excited to have them on JD.
How are you doing, man?
I'm doing fantastic.
College football's back.
This is the best time of the year.
The weather's cooling a little bit.
The colors are coming out.
And there's college football to watch and talk about nonstop.
So it couldn't be better.
Oh, yeah.
And, you know, I think the chat and the Discord for Fantasy Points
just went absolutely nuclear when they found out that you were back writing for us.
And so, man, super pumped to have you back.
Excited to have you on here regularly on Monday nights.
You're joining Froton and I.
And I'm not usually the one driving this ship.
So I'm going to hand it over to Froton.
Dude, tell us about LSU, USC.
You were on the sideline.
Like, I saw people on Twitter, like, just going nuclear when they saw you on the sideline,
like bumping into Miller Moss or whoever it was that was coming by you.
So tell us about your experience, man.
Yeah, I suppose with all the miller.
or Moss talk we had on this podcast for the summer.
It was only fate.
It was Kismet that myself and Miller would meet there at LSU, USC.
I did also have the pleasure of seeing him at the Elite 11.
He was a very nice young man.
And I did get to bump into Mrs. Moss as well on the way out.
Believe it or not, it was quite a gaggle getting out of this one portal out of Allegiance Stadium.
It's literally like, you wouldn't believe it.
It was like the Moss-Eisley canteena of the USC world, like landscape.
You had the band, you had like the color guard, you had the families of the players coming out.
You had the media coming out.
And like, it was this, it's this big funnel, right, into a small portal.
And I find myself right next to Miller Moss's mom.
And for some reason, she saw the insignia.
She turns and looks at me and is like, do you know where the players and the families go and meet up after the game?
And I just had a second where I just stood there, dumbfounded, like, and I went into like, okay, snap out of it.
Mrs. Moss, it's very nice to meet you. I believe you would go to the left in order to find that.
Yeah, but it's a full like matri-D mode, you know, for hotel.
I don't show you, Mrs. Moss, yes, of course. Your son, I met him at the elite 11. Very nice young man.
So I got to escort Miller Moss's mom to the players in the family section.
Didn't expect that was going to happen.
But yeah, it was out there on the field.
It was, I mean, it was an electric experience.
Do you know, I get a little fun fact for you,
do you know that that was the most well-attended game in Allegiant Stadium history?
And they hosted a Super Bowl there, if you don't forget two years ago.
That's great.
Yeah, more people there.
Then for the Super Bowl, I guess each program is paid over $5 million a year to for this particular,
the beach versus Bayou showcase is what it's being built at.
And what a game.
I mean, LSU, I feel like they had that game.
They had it in control.
And our boy, Miller Moss, he did it.
Miller Moss has made a believer out of me.
Here I am.
Here I am.
As I sit before you, before God.
And everybody else, and I know you like that.
You know, you're like talking about the Lord and Savior, Josh.
I know you enjoy that.
But yeah, I mean, here it is.
USC got the job done dramatic fashion.
I was right in the end zone in the corner for that amazing catch.
And obviously, after the game, got to give it a proper context and put a bow on week one.
No disrespect to BC and FSU.
But, you know, I think you just a slight step down.
in terms of import.
Well, I mean, I can tell you,
I don't know if you've been listening or watching on the road,
but yeah, it's definitely a step down, man.
FSU, I don't know if they're going to want.
Just so everybody knows,
I just got off a legit seven-hour drive from Vegas.
It usually takes four and a half.
And I rolled right off of the highway right into the right now,
I'm with zero seconds to spare.
We couldn't have gone a second earlier and got me on.
I'm really happy that I got to get.
Hopefully I'll be set it up well enough.
I try to do what I could on the road and the options.
But I'm ready and I'm excited.
Yeah, well, Shane's got a great question here.
Over under five games before DJ's bench, man.
Oh, that.
Oh, under.
Dude, Frulman Hoke is there.
He's waiting.
He's the future.
He's a guy who I actually got to talk to him pretty extensively.
Here we go.
Here we go. Take a drink, Elite 11 reference, right?
But I had a chance to talk to him successfully.
And he's a sharp kid, you know, I was really impressed with him.
He was one of the first commits from this class that really started going heavy in terms of recruiting guys to get into their program.
Like when I was over there, he was heavy on pushing FSU, had bought into the whole process, was an early, you know, Norville commit.
And frankly, I feel like they got him early.
early, and we only saw his star continue to rise for great things about camp.
And I think it's just a matter of time.
T.JU is a perennial placeholder.
This is the third consecutive year.
I know he kept it at Oregon State.
You know, he held off Aden Childs, but I just think the cat's out of the bag.
And the FSU Faithel has no particular, you know, attachment to him.
They don't have any love for me.
He's a Clemson commit.
He's an interlover, you know.
He'll turn on him in a sense.
second yeah well and you know yeah look is a guy that we've been on for a while and he's the type of guy right
i think he's a former linebacker i know former wide receiver but pretty physical guy right so he's the
type of dude he's going to take a hit he's going to get up he might even put his shoulder down on
somebody he's a type of kid that i think other players will really rally around right you know as a guy
that recruited a lot of kids to come in with them i could see him coming in and really sparking you know
sparking something under that fan base and under the other players as well.
So we'll see what happens there.
But man, it's, you know, I'm not going to lie.
It's for me, no offense, any FSU fans, but it's kind of nice when FSU and Florida are both having down years in the same year.
Oh, that's you talking.
I don't know, J.D. and I, you know, conscribe to that.
But J.D. speak for himself.
We don't want your smoke, Josh.
There we go. Hey, you know what?
It's probably a good time to go to break and, you know,
exactly.
Well, now it's not for break.
Let's do it.

All right.
Like that pivot.
So, you know, we, I wanted to do, start off this show really by talking about some different questions from this last week and really kind of player-centric versus game-centric focus since this is the college fantasy football podcast.
And so I have about five different questions or categories I wanted to go through.
But the first is, and, you know, really, one, I, like, who is your stud of the week, right?
The guy that impressed you the most this week in college football.
So, JD, take it.
Jay, go for it.
Yeah.
Well, we're going to start with, you know, stud of the week.
What's your take was from week one?
You have to start over New Mexico, obviously.
It's at the forefront of everyone's mind.
Okay, how are the lobo's going to look under Bronco, Mende?
at all. I'm not going to lie. The most impressed
I was going, you know,
as far as my expectations
going into a game and then watching a player was
Devin Dampeer. I was absolutely blown away
with Devin Dan Pierre. I'm not kidding.
I'm not joking. I'm joking that New Mexico would be the highlight of the
week. But yeah, that guy is a serious
CFF highlight package. He's a fantastic
runner. The volume's going to be good.
He's chucking it downfield. He's got
Moxie. He keeps doing the fake pitch stuff.
He's just playing with people talking
trash. So you can kind of see it, right? You're like, okay, is this guy actually any good?
Or was the efficiency metrics in a small sample last year? And like, no, he's, he's really good.
He's just short and it wasn't going to get recruited by bigger programs. But he's, he's the perfect
G5 quarterback fantasy guy, in my opinion. You get multiple years in that system, as long as
as you can get him to stay with the transfer portal. So deadmond, damn here in that shootout in
Arizona, man. And their defense is awful. They're going to mean shootouts all year, probably. So I love
that kid. Yeah, no doubt about that. No problem with that. How about, I mean, I feel like we could say
much maligned. The G.L. Lopez for South Alabama, the O for 13, you know, performance in the spring
game, but very good, you know, bowl game comes out, wins the job. And as JD mentioned,
we like pitiful defenses. And if you want pitiful defenses, go to USA. Bees.
52 got hung on them by North Texas.
Just opened the floodgates for 432 yards and three touchdowns with a quiet 62 on the ground,
a little free touchdown.
That's 60 yards.
Oh, love it.
So I just think from the bottom end with the under 20% ownership group, Lopez, I think he was at 13,
you know, heading into this week.
That's something you certainly have to pay attention to.
and a guy that I have a lot of shares of,
and frankly, I had him out an obscene 2,000.5 opening on his season-long passing yardage mark.
It was a case where the market was looking at the Cincinnati QB room,
year 2 under Satterfield, and saying, oh, well, well, Emery Jones threw for 2,250 yards last year.
So Brendan Sorsby is probably going to throw for less than that.
He's not as good a passer as Emery Jones, obviously.
Brendan Sorsby came out and dropped 383 last game.
And I know it was against Towson, but fortunately,
Townsend put up 20 points and just allowed them to throw at will.
Love that over, you know, had a significant position on that 2005,
you know, a space odyssey passing average line.
But I'm very pleased to see that out of Soursby because since that he's going to have to score some points in the big 12.
They're certainly on the lower rung.
They have a good defensive line behind the godfather, Dante Corey Leon.
But if you look at secondary, they're extremely porous.
And that's how Tiles and put up 20 points on them.
I think that's a good recipe for both of those QBs to continue to thrive in the season because they're going to be in scripts that they're going to have to do that.
Yeah, for sure.
you know, that's a great call as well.
Brendan Swordsby was awesome.
You know, I'm going to go with Tetraud McMillan personally.
Just kidding.
He was obviously impressive week one with 300 years.
And, you know, four touchdowns.
No big deal.
But, you know, for me, you know, I got to eat some crow here.
I had, you know, my guy going into the Washington State QB battle all offseason was
the carl.
And, you know, I thought that he would win the job.
I thought he could have a really, you know, good.
season in that system. Mitya won it. And man, Mature went off for like 55, you know,
fantasy points week one now. They're playing Portland State. I don't think that's, you know,
anybody that anyone's going to write home about. But I mean, the guy did everything week one that
you won him to, right? And, you know, 55 fantasy points. I think he had like 50, 60 yards rushing,
you know, absolutely crazy game. So, you know, fun to see that. We'll see, you know, he's,
you know, he's got a pretty easy schedule throughout this year. So he could keep
that job and, you know, really, I think, made people some money that took them
the underdog best balls, you know, in the 10th round. So that's one for me that I would say
for sure is John Matteer. How about on the other end, some guys that put up duds that really
disappointed you in week one? For a time, why don't you take this one first? Okay.
Well, we had a controversy in the NCAA draft last weekend. Gabe saw Chuck was taken
instead of Gavin Sautchuk.
Big controversy.
It was ultimately in the fourth round
made that the person who selected them,
i.e. me, was made to keep
Gabe Sachuk instead of Gavin Chalka.
Well, that ended up being a blessing in disguise now, didn't it?
Thank you. Thank you, Gabe Sautchuk.
Thank you. I'm thrilled,
because if I had Gavin Sautchuk, I would have started him.
I likely would have lost my game.
Fortunately, because of the death,
I managed to acquire in the running back room that I went and, you know, addressed because of that slight mishap.
I managed to win my contest against the drunken state college boozebags.
So the Nordic gods of CCC, very, very happy about that decision.
And I would have to say, my gosh, Gavin Sautchuk, real, real disappointment under two points.
Not, I think, what anybody wanted to see.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, man, that was absolutely brutal.
And to see him, it's not only that he only scored two points.
It's the way that it happened.
He just didn't look like the same back.
And then Javante Barnes comes in and looks completely healthy.
And even all the other bad we're going off.
Yeah.
Poor one out for our man.
Jadie, what's you got, man?
Who disappointed you week one?
I got two running backs.
One, Damien Martinez, I think just because he was so so high up in CFF draft,
similar to Sawchuck, a similar range.
change.
Didn't have as bad of a game.
Obviously,
he had more than two points,
but,
you know,
maybe it was game script-wise.
Cam Ward was dealing,
but if you're scoring that many points
and Martinez,
Martinez isn't bringing it,
he's not really a pass catcher,
so the PPR points aren't really there.
And then they brought in Fletcher on the goal line,
man,
and Fletcher looks real good.
That's a guy that was pretty high on last year.
So I'm questioning what the ceiling is with Martinez.
Obviously,
still going to be a good back,
who was going to push for 1,000 yards,
but I don't know,
if you're not catching pass,
you're not fine.
The ends, I'm a little worried about Martinez.
And then another one,
a guy took a few swings on.
I know I drafted him in the CFF King's Classic League
was Kanye Roberts for App State.
He's splitting carries.
He didn't even reach double-digit carries.
That's not something you want to see,
especially when you're playing an overmatched opponent.
Overmatched opponent, you get 35 yards.
Anderson Castle also had nine carries.
So it looks like he's kind of in a split.
They also gave Michael Haywood some carries.
So,
I think he's a drop candidate.
I've got an honorable mention, too.
Jeremy Bernard for Alabama.
Yikes, 17 receiving yards.
That's it.
The Ryan Williams show is fully underway and filming.
He is clearly now at 17 years old,
at least a threat to be that number one.
I mean, you have to respect it.
Just a little honorable mention there.
Had to be thrown in.
No, for sure.
Yeah, I think all those wide receivers early,
there's a lot of them and this happens every year.
I mean, it's just such a volatile position.
Two for me that stuck out were Evan Stewart over there at Oregon.
I mean, you put up that many points and you can't seem to find the guy even on like a screen pass on the outside.
I mean, this is an outside wide receiver position and the Will Stein UTSA offense there at Oregon.
That just has always produced.
Like, why is it that Evan Stewart is the guy that can't even get, you know, 10 fantasy points?
should have been very easy.
Another guy for me is Ricky White.
I mean, I had been warned by a UNLV guy in the off season that, you know, they might not
throw as much this year.
But, you know, you thought, man, Ricky White, 89 receptions, 1,400 yards.
You know, you don't expect two catches for 11 yards.
I mean, maybe it's the Matthew Sluka effect, but it's not looking good, right, for him.
So those are two, like, just big, you know, first, second round targets that, you know,
I was really disappointed in week one.
So, yeah, that was a killer for me, me personally.
I do have something on a white because I have a ton of white.
I even traded for him a little bit this offseason.
He did catch like a 60-yarder that was called back.
And then he was targeting on at least twice.
So like he was close to still get like 90 yards in a touchdown like really close.
But yeah, the concern is the volume.
I mean, last year he was like a lock for like 12 targets, seven catches.
and if he has a great game, great.
If he doesn't, he's still in your lineups and doing fine.
So, yeah, a little worried, but not the end of the world.
Stewart, though, holy Toledo.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I really thought, like, is he going to step right into the Troy Franklin role,
which is the field stretcher while Tess Johnson takes out underneath stuff.
And it sounds in theory like it's a real plug-and-play thing.
But my God, Idaho, I watched that whole game pretty much at Stadium Swim.
It was pretty much dead red.
Because it was 14 to 7 in the second half.
What's going on over here?
And, you know, it turns out, okay, Bo Nix, the way he's been playing for the Broncos,
the way Dylan Gabor comes in, he's moving the ball down the field.
But two touchdown passes, I mean, they were not particularly looking efficient.
And what happens when Ohio State comes to town October 12th?
You know, that's, I think we certainly got some questions.
two other guys got to mention sire gains i mean obviously gentie is gentie and he went buck wild
but man sire gains you heard all about it goodbye jambra stuver it was a good run you have been replaced
and anthony tias for ohio i think uh Shane whitted our resident claims an expert had mentioned him
in the in the chat has to be mentioned absolutely anti ties with two two bills and two wasn't sure
we're going to get rick hunt we're going to get tius you know good idea
certainly to try to at the very least handcuff them. J.D., I will let you know,
don't go looking for Anthony Tias on the 50 team or waiver wire. I know you went and looked for him,
didn't you? Be honest, you couldn't find him. Do you know why? Because on Friday, before
games started, I dropped the Northwestern defense for Anthony Tius right before game started.
So, yeah, yeah. So you got him.
That's right.
That's right, J.D.
I think he was dropped.
Mr. Rower up in the 50-teamer.
Mr. Incredible.
Actually,
I think trade.
By the way, J.D., guys, so you know,
J.D. was runner-up.
Like, he is a legitimate 50-teamer.
He won it.
Oh, you won it?
God damn, you won it.
Yeah.
You want it.
Cambridge won it.
My gosh, look at this show.
You got the title, right?
Thor has a title.
I think,
Tyos was drafted and dropped because I was in the Mac draft and I was I had Tyas circle.
So I think somebody drafted him and dropped him.
I think Froton saying he dragged.
Did you just say you dropped you picked him up though?
I picked him up literally on Friday.
I can give you specifics if you want.
I'm sure you don't.
But I promised I picked him up on Friday right for because I had two defenses.
And I was like, what do I need?
I got Indiana and Northwestern.
Indiana's got three good, solid games.
I don't have to even think about.
And I'll go and play the, you know, play the waiver.
wire on it, but give me Tyas just in case he shouldn't be here. And maybe he ends up getting the
bulk. And I need it because, man, the guy, the team of playing this week is just absolutely loaded.
Somebody did, I forget his name of you. Did a great job. I'll talk about later. But yeah,
got lucky on that one. But still, I don't know if I'm in Yankee territory quite yet with my team.
Well, it'll be interesting to see, yeah, see what happens in the backfield. I want to talk about
tie us more in the Waver Wire pickup
segment of this show.
But I didn't have a question for you guys as West Coasters
with Damien Martinez, right?
You talked about J.D., him disappointing you,
and Mark Fletcher getting the carries at the goal line.
Now, I don't know if you guys remember, but Oregon State,
this happened to him all the time.
Like, they would just run them, you know,
basically between the 20s and then take him out at the goal line,
whether it was for, like, the linebacker quarterback that they had,
or, you know, even last year they did it to
all the time. So what, like, is there something about Damien Martinez at 2.30 that I just don't know that he can't
take a goal line carry? Like, what happens to this man that he always gets taken out on the goal line?
Please, fill me in because it's happened to him the last three years.
I wish I could tell you, brother. I wish I had nothing. I mean, it's nice to see Fletcher come back and be,
you know, a factor because obviously he ripped his knee last year. But he had so much fanfare.
I mean, we were hoping he was going to be that RV1.
But, you know, coming out, now a red shirt freshman.
Actually, I don't know if he had out of time, but nominal red shirt freshmen coming out and looking great.
And like you said, he had one particular run that, you know, the contact balance was excellent.
I mean, it's to squeak his way in.
And I would think that that's skill set that's extremely repeatable based on what we saw.
Yeah.
You know, I do think.
Jared.
Yeah, that was hilarious.
Jared.
It turns out David Martinez is allergic to TD's.
rare medical condition, but it's legit.
You know, the thing with Martinez, too, like, I thought he got hurt at the end of the first
half because they didn't give him a carry in the third quarter.
Now, whether that's because they were up by so much or what, but here's a deal.
If that Miami offense is that good, they're not going to play them in, like, almost any
third quarter this season.
Like, maybe the Louisville game because, like, their schedule is absolutely brutal.
Now the FSU, it just looks terrible, particularly against the road.
run. So I don't know. I echo you guys in that, you know, in that sentiment. I do want to ask you
as another, go ahead. We're going to talk to Miami. I have to go to my collector's corner real
quick. Okay. Do it, man. I'm making this up. Boom. Here we go. Here we go. That is a Cam Ward
lava autograph. By the way, look at Cam Ward's autograph. Just a C and a W. I mean,
we're not talking about a very extensive autograph here, folks. C. dot W for Cam Ward.
But the point is, great, it's an autograph.
So these, right, last April, just going for like 20 bucks a piece that you can smash these.
After that performance, probably looking around the 1, 150 range.
You know, if it dimes, you're probably looking at 2.250.
Cam Ward is rocketing up the collector boards, just so we know.
Collectors corner over.
Thank you, Josh.
That's amazing.
Yeah, man, that kid is earning money, you know, every single.
second he's playing that is at home in first auto my friend leeland very nicely done oh you know my boy
leeland Oregon got Oregon guy might see you at Oregon Ohio State my friend keep it keep me posted if that uh
if I go there it's either going to be Oregon Ohio state in Eugene I'm dying all right 1012
or it's going to be Penn State USC if I want to stay closer to home also also keep in mind
I want you all start getting mentally prepared we saw what happened for you
USC LSU. Oh, we have another game coming up on the 28th of September where I have been trying to
influence Mr. J.D. Yonke to drive down from Fresno. I have been sending care package.
I've been sending flowers to Mrs. Yonkey. Whatever I need to do to get J.D. down here for Wisconsin
USC big 10 opener, all-time big 10 opener for USC. Fingers crossed, folks.
Dude, that sounds like a blast.
Is there any chance, Shady?
Yeah, that would be awesome.
You know, I know USC will be ready for the Big Ten
after what we saw with Anton Lynn
and what we saw with the staff that Lincoln Riley got in there
to coaches always talented roster up in Miller Moss looking great.
I don't know if Wisconsin will be ready for the Big Ten
because they weren't ready for Mac play.
They lost the yards per play battle to Western Michigan.
So, yeah, yeah, it might be a trium.
triumphant entrance to the Big Ten for the Trojans.
When you bring in TVD, you limit your regards per play for sure.
TVD, 10 and a half yards on the rushing over.
Oh, no, no, no.
We're running RPO's now with TVD.
Didn't you, Phil Longo?
Come on, man.
You're going to put out a stinker of an offense like that.
You're going to be, oh, gosh.
They're just trying to do his greatest Sam Howell impression, you know.
killing me.
All right, I got a couple more questions for you guys,
but let's go to a quick break,
and then I'm going to get into some Fools Gold.
All right.
Shane's asking, when am I coming to Clemson?
921 against NC State.
Sideline bound, actually.
Actually, hey, Shane, why don't you crawl on my DMs, buddy?
Let's have a chat.
Might need a photographer, Shane.
Might need some help.
Can you provide that?
All right, all right.
We'll go keep in the DM, Shane.
That's amazing.
She just made Shane's day.
That's incredible.
Probably made his life, dude.
You know, I'm here to make dreams come true, guys.
I took one of my best friends to, it was a lifelong LSU guy, took him for my photographer,
and he had the time of his, absolutely had the time of his life.
And I'll have some shots coming from that.
You guys will get to see.
But get ready.
If you're in the chat, if you're in my chat and you're one of the crew,
Just know if I'm coming to your town, hit me up.
You never know what can happen when Froton comes to town.
You never know what kind of dreams can come true when Froton comes to town.
Just remember that, boys.
Only for my boys, though.
Only for the chat.
That's amazing.
I love that.
You know, Froton is no fool's gold, my friend.
But we do have some people this last week in fantasy.
You love that transition.
Well, yes, thank you.
You know, we do have some people this last week, though.
Man, they had some huge weeks.
But are those weeks actually repeatable in the future?
So who are the guys this week that, you know, big weeks,
but you don't think they're going to repeat it again this year or at least again this next week.
Jay, do you got anybody?
Not a ton.
You know, kind of going through the leaderboard, like a lot of these guys, I'm kind of buying.
Like, I'd rather take my shot on the waiver wire on these guys and find out later.
Like, you go through the wide receivers that had big weeks.
Like some of them are 15 targets, 14.
targets. Your Nick Nash's, what was it, 16 targets?
The Dean Ward, right? And the D.T. Sheffield was even at 10 targets. So I'm actually kind of
liking what I'm seeing there. One guy who, I mean, I'm kind of high on his talent. I think he could
have a solid year. He might be worth the roster spot, but I think Ty Felton's just kind of a guy who's
going to catch him helium. He did have a good game, good player, but I'm not really sure
Billy Edwards is the best quarterback, and he's not going to play Yukon every week. He's going
to be playing in the Big Ten. So that was one guy that kind of stood out as probably going to be
a little overvalued.
Yeah, for sure.
I'm going to go with Wake Up Jake Retzlap.
That's a reference to a famous band song.
You know, I love the band in Bob Dylan.
Jake Ratzlap, 37 points against S.I.U.
Good luck doing that in the Big 12 play, BYU.
I don't see that happening.
As much as I don't think this happens on with regularity, man, how do you not love Diego, Pavia?
How do you not love?
He's watching him
against Chris K's Virginia Tech
Hokies. Oh, poor Chris.
I feel for him.
So many Kyron Drones shares.
So many.
Overflowing at the brim
with Kiron Dron shares, our friend Chris K.
But, you know, Diego, I can't feel like that
that's a priority pickup.
You know what I mean? I don't know if it's quite a priority pickup
going forward.
But, man, you could have some fun in the non-con, right?
Good for Diego.
I really have nothing but love.
Kyle McCord.
Syracuse gives up 22 to Ohio.
Okay.
All right.
It's the Auntie Taya show.
They're not going to stop the run this year again.
We're not going to do that.
We're going to give up two bills to a Mac running back.
Syracuse, great job.
Boys, well done.
This is Kyle McCord.
You know, I mean, maybe it just wasn't the Ohio State thing.
But I think it's appropriate to express skepticism about his ability to continue that in the ACC.
Maybe he does.
And Shepin, you know, Eastern Kentucky is, I mean, the quintessential tomato can for an SEC program that is getting up off the hump last year where they were just a complete abomination offensively.
I mean, you know, we like to see Jake, Mr. Shapen with 41, you know, points.
That's a good solid row.
But I think that once he gets an SEC play, it's going to be a little more difficult.
So, you know, non-con is non-con time.
Yeah.
No, I think that's a great call.
For me, and this is probably some low-hanging fruit,
but I thought somebody like Dejan Stanley,
that, you know, he scored 33 fantasy points, week one.
You know, yeah, two busted.
He was wide open on those, the same play.
You know, they're not playing a good opponent week one.
You know what that reminds me of?
Cioni Vaki last year.
It's exactly what he did.
He came in and that.
that like reserve type pass catching role caught a few and then was put back out to past year,
you know, relatively thereafter.
I'd skepticism.
Absolutely.
Yeah, totally.
And, you know, even, you know, Kyle, you know, Whittingham came out today.
I was like, hey, he's not ready to be a full time running back for us.
And so, you know, I think if the coach is saying to pump the brakes, we should all pump
the brakes.
He's going to play a role for sure, but probably not ready even in past protection, things like that,
even at 6'8,000 to be able to hand.
handle a full workload. But, man, he looked good, taking a couple swing passes in the house for
sure, week one. Hey, I'm going to skip one of our questions, but I do want to get to our last one.
Do you guys have any hot takes coming out of week one that you feel like are going to carry
on to the rest of the season? Yeah. You start, JD. I got to think. Terry on Stewart,
Bowling Green running back. Yeah. He's going to run for 20 touchdowns and over 1,000 yards.
20 touchdowns, 1,000 yards.
How many does he have this next week against Penn State?
Probably zero, but he got three week one.
So he's already made up for his average in one and a half.
I think he's the best player in the conference.
I don't know what he's, like he hasn't been healthy.
So like people haven't seen him.
But like his metrics are insane.
And then so I'm like, I got to watch this guy more.
He can't be that good like his metrics say.
And then I watched him against Georgia Tech last year.
I'm like, oh my God, he's better than the metrics.
And forced 11 missed tackles in week one and had over nine yards after contact per
attempt and is just stiff-arming people into oblivion. So he's going to go absolutely wild in
Mac play if he finally stays healthy this year. He's like 23 years old or something. So he should
rumble on it. I know Bulling Green hasn't had a thousand yard brusher since like 2016. It's something
awful. So I think they're going to get back with a vengeance. And like, you know, Taran Keith has gone.
So you really have a backfield to himself. I think it's, is it Jason Patterson or Jason Patterson?
Maybe he's the other guy there. But, you know, nobody that's going to compete with him for touches.
so him and Fanner are going to be that offense.
I think that's a great call.
Frotan, you got anything on this one?
Obla D. Obla D.
D. Desmond and Marnie Jones.
No, no, no. Desmond Reed.
What more do you want?
Rodney Hammond was the guy that were just like,
is this guy really going to be it again?
Is he going to, are we going to see the Rodney Hammond show again?
We're going to milk toast our way through another pit season?
I don't know.
They stopped messing around.
They said enough of that terrible.
And once you had Djerkovic, we knew it was over.
What are you going to start, Phil Jukovic?
It's night and nighttime.
But just that carousel they had last year,
they bring in one of the tippity top offensive minds from the FCS level
and look at what we get here.
I know, I know.
Kent State, understandable.
But how can you not be encouraged by what you saw from the Pitt Panthers?
You know, Eli Holstein, new QB, new Air,
former Alabama commit. I had to, again, drink Elite 11, Sarmed with the Elite 11. I mean,
he's a thick, body kid. I think he's particularly mobile or anything, but he showed that he can
distribute the ball. Two receivers had pretty impactful fantasy lines out there. I mean,
had more than two. You could go up and down the line. I'm pretty excited about the pit offense,
and I think how this could translate. Even if they slow down an ACC play, Desmond Reed is
a priority pickup.
Yeah, and Desmond.
He's a superstar.
Like, that guy is absolutely insane.
They kept saying on the broadcast, and I agreed with them,
because if you're trying to pick up, Reed,
if you're in the Dynasty League with me,
he's probably not in the way of why I probably have him.
But I love Reed.
They kept saying on the broadcast,
he probably would have won the Walter Payton Award last year
if he would have stayed healthy.
The guy was averaging, like,
it probably would have been 30 fantasy points a game.
And in game scripts where they're losing,
he's going to catch like eight passes.
That's what the OC did last year, same OEC.
So I love it.
100% yeah for sure no i mean desmond reed yeah gonna catch passes like you said acc play i'm not worried
about um acc play at this point we've seen enough of the acc play and uh i i think desmond reed be quite fine
they're comparing him i saw some local beat riders comparing him to dion lewis which i thought was a good
comparison right dion lewis is bigger 20 pounds bigger or so but i could see them as far as their style of play
things like that for p that that's high praise absolutely
I praise that, of course.
They also called him the strongest player on the team pound for pound.
So I know he's undersized, but that guy's a freak.
Yeah.
No, that's good.
My hot take is that I think that UTSA quarterback Owen McCown,
who went bonkers in week one.
And I think he's going to be a top 15 CFFQB,
an average 26 fantasy points per game,
which is really right around.
I mean, Frank Harris had his one.
huge year, but the other years he had 24, 26 fantasy points.
And so I think Owen McCown is going to be a really good play at this point.
I think the two games that he started, he's over 70% completion percentage.
He's got some, he's able to run and get some groundwork as well.
So like his dole threat abilities, like that guy, I think he's worth picking up if he's
out there on the waiver wire for you.
And speaking of which, I wanted to get in some waiver wire talk before we get out of here.
last 20 minutes or so of our show, give these guys some people that they could pick up on the
waiver wire. You know, in college fantasy football, a lot of my leagues have waiver wires on
Tuesdays. So I figured we could go over waiver wire picks on Tuesday on Monday nights. And so as people
are filling out those waiver wire transactions, we can give them a couple in each position. So
we'll just go position by position, start with QBs and then go on down. But you guys have anybody
that you're looking at, you know, kind of top guys at the QB position that you're looking at this
week, JD, why don't you go first?
We've kind of already mentioned them by and written down, like Dan Pier, Reed, Anthony Tias,
so kind of the obvious ones, I mean, but, you know, if you just go and look at who scored a lot
of points, I think a caveman could do that.
So I guess some more guys I'm looking at, Luke Wysong, wide receiver for New Mexico is a guy
I'm targeting.
We already mentioned Dan Pier.
Everyone's going to be on him, but Wysong is very clearly the wide receiver one, and they
target them short.
They're targeting them downfield.
field, everything. I think you'll have a nice floor and then ceiling combination.
D.T. Sheffield looks like people are a little a year early. North Texas, one of those teams,
terrible defense, good offense. You get 10 targets. You're an explosive player.
You can work with that. You can work with that. I don't think he'll be a priority for a lot of people.
A lot of people we'd be looking at his teammate, Damon Ward, somebody else could talk about,
I'm sure. And that guy, Isaiah Page had 15 targets for Old Dominion, wide receiver.
It catches 115 yards in a touchdown. And he kind of finished the year strong last year. I know,
I know with Decker coming in, O.C., I was excited about that offense last year, and I felt really stupid and still not extremely excited about that offense.
But we've seen huge performances from his CFF players before, and everyone else is kind of gone.
There's no one else there, and it looks like Page.
It looks like we're turning the page here on a new era of Decker fantasy goodness.
So, yeah, that's kind of some guys I had circle.
Yeah.
I'm excited about A.J. Turner for Marshall.
As anybody here knows who will send me to my props opinions, Jordan Houston,
props all-American, at the very least, props all-A-C-C, you know, first team.
Just a perennial under machine on those rushing yardage.
It's so dependable.
Such a wonderful, wonderful player.
And I just felt like this, I had no problem taking Ethan Payne a little bit.
But it looks like E.J. Turner, I mean, you look better than neither of them, frankly, in my opinion.
Why not? Why not?
Give me A.J. Turner.
Give me the young sophomore to kind of build on, at least from a dynasty perspective.
because I just have, again, any way I can fade Jordan Houston, I am 100% behind this.
Also, Kelly Joyner for South Florida, we heard a lot about him in the summer and saying, you know,
maybe it's not going to be as linear with Naquan right as we particularly think.
Kelly Joyner, it's always been just a matter of health with him.
Every time you watch him, he's explosive, he's making big plays.
He has dual eligibility in a lot of leagues, running back and wide receiver,
not to be laughed at.
You know, that's a big factor for, as we know, one of the absolute apex predator offenses,
at least in the group of five.
So definitely having that positional variability extremely important.
And, you know, for good measure, how long is, we'll see what happens in Minnesota.
Hopefully, Darius Taylor isn't out too much longer.
But that should certainly be monitored with Marcus Major.
And lastly, wide receiver, another, you know, I don't know.
I'm going to have to come up with something for a Tito for running backs and wide receivers.
Yeah.
But that's definitely a joiner.
But Trey on Cibbley also has that running back wide receiver, positional variability.
And he's a player that I've talked about, at least early in the season a lot and advocated for out of that liberty running, I should be wide receiver room to replace C.J. Daniels.
He is playing, lining up in the same alignment that Daniels had last year.
And I was very pleased to see how effective he was.
And I think that that's something where, gosh, he's probably below 5% still.
You could get a pretty good deal out of that for just a dominant offense.
It's going to run rough shot through the CEOS.
Yeah, that's a really good one.
I like that.
Got a couple of questions here.
First one's from Jared.
Got Jimmy Horn, second and targets, but fourth and pass snaps.
What do we think of him?
What are we like we saw Colorado week one got a good snapshot of them as they're you know playing at a time that a lot of us could watch the game
What do you guys doing with Colorado as far as their wide receiver pecking order?
Is Jimmy Horn a guy that you would target this week if he's available on the waiver wire?
Okay.
Jody.
Yes.
I think clearly they're going to throw four a lot of yards if standards is healthy offensive lines still can't run block look a little better in past protection.
We'll see how that holds up as the season goes on but not scared.
Yeah, yeah, Warren's going to have a big year.
Absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
I agree.
And I would like to thank all my compatriots in the champion series for letting me continue
to draft.
Draft after drafts, Chodor Sanders in the ninth through 11th round.
I don't know what he did to you guys.
I don't know why he harmed you.
But that defense, as we saw, was pretty much just pushed around by North Dakota State for
a large portion of that game.
It'd stiffen up to their credit, you know, a little bit towards the end when they needed
to.
but my gosh, I didn't like what I saw there.
And this is going to be an offense that throws quite liberally.
And La Jante Wester as an outsider, you know, sure, the snaps are what they are.
But it's clear that Shittero Sanders has a comfort level with Horn.
He's explosive.
And Lejante Wester is an outsider.
I don't know if he is able to usurp those snaps going forward.
Maybe things change.
Yeah, I think that's a great point.
You know, there is a level of familiarity that he has, right?
with Horn and with Travis Hunter coming back.
So that he doesn't have yet with Wester and, you know,
Will Sheper coming in and there's other guys too.
So I mean, that's a great point.
I want to ask you guys another one.
We've got a bunch of questions here that people are asking.
Another one, I want to make sure we get the Shane's because he had the first one.
But Holstein, we talked about him a little bit, but him and Billy Edwards,
what are you all doing with them on the waiver wire?
You're going to try to pick them up?
Are you fading these guys treating them differently?
What do you guys got?
I'm in on Holstein.
Yeah, like I said, the Pittsburgh offense needs to be respected.
It's something that we batted around even, and we talked about Rebel Yarnel, you know, hardest hit.
I'm going to have to come up with something for Eli here, you know, the book of Eli Holstein.
It's just not the same as Rebel Yarnel.
But we talked about just wanting to have a piece.
Is it a case of the Mumpfields?
Is it, you know, is it the natural Desmond Reed?
Whatever it is, we talked about them being a factor.
And we'll see.
I think I definitely want a piece of it.
to him. A little trepidation on Billy Edwards, but dude, they got a wide receiver court.
Prather and Felton are no joke. At the Combine, nope, not Elite 11 at the Combine two years ago.
I will say that, or was it last year, Rakeem Jarrett was extremely complimentary of Ty Felton
when I asked like, hey, who do you think is somebody that's kind of under the radar? And he was
immediate and he was emphatic and he was saying, I think Ty Felton is an NFL wide receiver. And we saw
that in week one, you know, that potential.
Yeah, for sure.
Let me ask you guys this.
Another good question here.
I think it's, is it Ethan Hampton, right, for NIU?
Yep.
And then Bryson Barnes and then Alonzee Barnett.
Any of these guys worth picking up?
Barnett,
Barnett, especially like a dynasty when I saw he had years worth of,
he's got a few years worth left of playing.
He's mobile, you know, may not absolutely lie to throwing the ball.
But, yeah, he looks decently interesting.
and then Barnes, I mean, maybe a bench guy.
It's that offense.
They're going to throw it a lot.
He's dirt cheap.
He's worth it if you need a bench guy.
Hampton, absolutely not.
I'm just really happy about DJ Yuang Galae and his 11 for 27.
For 130 yards so far, I just hope that they do the right thing and pull him before he hits that 2.30 and a half passing yardage mark.
I'm hoping we get one more TD out of BC here to make it 28 to 6.
and just really put the emphasis to how poor this 10 carries, 25 yards,
what is going on right now?
It is a biblical collapse we're watching.
I'm sorry, sorry, a little excited here.
I'm a little, I'm still sore from Rocky Lombardi, my doppelganger,
my twin brother from another mother, my lung lost son, should I say,
when am I talking about you,
younger than me?
I'm a little sore about missing him,
so I need to see a little bit more on Hampton,
you know,
especially given the nature of the Mac
and how slow we've seen the face of play
and the defense-oriented play we've seen,
at least in the last year.
But, hey, there's optimism.
So, yeah, I think he's,
I think I'm going to go with JD.
I get scared when JD and I agree.
I like to go against him, usually,
but, man, he's right.
When he's right, he's right.
And he's the 50 team or champ, you know, he's a 50 year of champ.
What can I say?
That's awesome.
Yeah, I think Barnes, the interesting thing about Barnes is that he had, what,
a, was it one or two touchdowns?
He had like a 60-yard run.
I mean, if he is using his legs at all in the Mountain West,
then he has a guy that can give a little bit more value than typically get
from the Utah State quarterback.
Spencer Petrus got hurt.
He came back in a walking boot in the second half.
So we don't even, like, maybe when Petrus comes back, it's his job anyways.
So there is some inherent risk.
Barnes was not the starter from the beginning.
So, but I, go ahead.
I was just going to say, was that Petrus who threw the highlight interception or was that Barnes?
Do you guys know, you saw that crazy highlight interception?
I don't know.
I don't know. I think it was Petrus, but I'm not sure.
I think it was too because I know he had two picks on the day.
I was going to say, if that's it and he's out in a walking boot and like his one highlight of the season is an interception, it would just be so perfect.
Classic.
Yeah.
Got a couple more here.
Oh, man.
Okay, one real quick.
This dude's trolling.
My boy, Lex, Tom Cotopia in our Discord chat.
But DJ Lagway, sorry, not DJ LaGway.
Kenny Johnson from Pitt.
Dude went off in weekway.
He's like 0.88% owned on draft kings.
And he, yeah, I mean, he went off in that first game.
So any thoughts on Kenny Johnson?
It's him in Munfield that basically led that team.
with a few other guys sprinkled in.
But is Kenny Johnson a guy
that you guys would take a risk on this week?
Are you kind of waiting and seeing for another week?
At a minimum, he's a monitor.
Yeah, go to do you.
I think he'd be the guy.
I think the other pick guys to monitor.
I will say Monfield dropped the wide open touchdown,
so he could have had two, but I think Johnson's better.
To me, he looked the best, and he also was banged up.
I think he missed a few drives, and he still had the most productive day.
He was targeted in the red zone.
He's the bigger guys, downfield guy.
The way that the coaching staff has talked about on the rest of the team is like,
To me, in my opinion, I have the highest ceiling, but, you know, is he going to be a weak guy in CFF the way to spread it out?
I'm not sure.
But for him, that's the guy that would go after on pit, especially in Dynasty.
I think he's a priority.
Yeah, and that's a thing.
How deep is your roster that you're going to be fishing from?
You know, if you're in a dynasty, 40-man pool, you probably already have a couple guys that you're looking at after week one who might have pulled zeros.
And you're saying, I would rather have Kenny Johnson on my roster right now.
It could come in and be potentially monthly your career.
and every week starter if this pops would pit and there's reason to think that there's optimism there.
If not this year, you know, perhaps there's some growing pains and they go and they hit their stride in year two.
I mean, just it all lines up pretty nicely.
Yeah.
Man, I'm loving this segment.
We have so many questions in the chat.
People are loving asking these waiver.
The chat is rolling tonight.
I know.
I love it.
So I'll, well, real quick, Desmond Reed also, we talked about that.
We all love Desmond Reed.
Yes, pick him up if he's available, Shane.
Yes, sir.
Okay, Shane.
I mean, Dan Brown, DJ Lagway over Mertz rest of the season, please.
I mean, is DJ Lagway in redraft CFF a guy that you would take a shot on this week knowing, I mean, he might start, you know, this next week, considering Mertz might not play.
He got starter snaps today.
Lagway did in practice.
But even knowing that Mertz is probably on the bubble at this point, like, would you take a shot on a guy like Lagway that can make a difference?
few weeks down the road or is that just too risky at this point?
I have a hard time with Graham Hertz at the very least.
I mean, look what we got here.
You know, look what we just saw to Miami.
Billy Napier was hanging on a string entering the season.
You know, it wasn't particularly a secret, you know, he has to perform.
They have the toughest schedule in the country comes out and just gets blitzed by Miami.
you know, a team that equals or more, you're supposed to be able to handle that in the SEC,
just a, you know, an unmitigated disaster.
DJ Lagway is the future and you don't want to run him off.
No offense, the Mertz.
Yep.
He's yesterday's newspaper we're reading.
And DJ Lagway is, you know, and constantly updating and refreshing digital, you know,
the web page.
It's just two completely different situations.
and the last thing in the world that anybody from Florida wants to see.
And we personally assure you with that, I wouldn't, is to see DJ Lagway head out of town
because of the way that he's handled by Napier.
So that has to be the priority here for Florida.
Obviously, they want to win games here, but I wouldn't be waiting too long
to be bringing in the hook with Mertz.
And that's even if he's healthy, as you mentioned.
Yeah, for sure.
Let me ask you guys another question here.
This is for maybe a fab budget question.
You know, lots of leagues are going to get at free agent auction budget.
And so you have a certain amount of money that you can spend.
What percentage would you spend on a guy like Jack Bess this week,
considering he's got the infamous Tito title that Froton has coined himself?
and he just went off, right, week one.
Would you, if you have a need for a tight in,
are you blowing a bunch of budget on Jack Besh?
Or do you think,
it seemed more of like what we talked about before,
like a Fool's Gold, week one.
He's not going to produce like that again.
What are you guys doing with Jack Bess this week?
I'm keeping him on my roster and not dropping him
because I own him pretty much everywhere.
I love it.
Cool's goal comment.
Like, I think he's going to be good.
He's the wide receiver two on a high volume offense.
I mean, I don't have to rehash it pretty much.
But even I, when I drafted, I didn't think he was going to play that much.
I thought he was definitely going to be in a wide receiver rotation.
I don't think I'd blow a huge percentage because he's still a tight end.
He's not going to go for 100 yards and a touchdown every single week.
He's going to be pretty dang solid and it's going to be a very good tight end.
But now, if you're blowing half your budget on a tight end, I don't think that's good business.
But that's just my two cents.
Yeah.
I mean, if you have a gaping hole.
a tight end. It's something you certainly
want to address. As
Yonke said,
it's not like you're going to go out there and
live Lvita Loka because of Jack
Besh. But
like you said, I would
think you'd probably have a couple pretty good tight end
options on your roster
because they are fairly. It's good
deep positions, not something that people
tend to like stuck.
Five, six, seven guys that are
tight ends on their roster. You usually looking at
three tops, four.
So there's always room at that back end, even though he's a little bit long in the tooth,
for somebody who, if he's continuing to be this explosive, you want to go and toss him at the back end,
your roster, I can see the justification.
But yeah, with reason and a measured bid.
Yeah, I love that.
Hey, let's take one more break.
And then I got a few more players.
We've got a few more questions here to get into.
And then we'll wrap things up.

All right.
I want to ask this from Kevin.
And then I have a player I want to ask you guys about, you know, here in a second.
But thoughts on Wayshan Parker.
This comes from Kevin Parker.
So I don't know if this is, he's related to Wayshon.
So be very careful how you tread with how you answer this next question.
but Wayshon Parker at Washington State.
Is he a wait-and-see guy or is he a guy that you're going to try to go after this week on the waiver wire?
What are you doing with him?
Well, a little caution that they played Portland State, who is in the big sky, a true also-ran program, hung 70 on them.
So from a fantasy perspective, you do want to exercise a little bit of cock and playing them against anybody with a particularly stout defense.
but, hey, we've been very, very interested in what happens in Washington State all offseason,
be it the QB battle.
A lot of the talk really has been surrounding both QB battle and the wide receiver group,
you know, who is going to emerge as those inside threats that tend to get all that work
in these air raid type offenses.
But we really hadn't talked much about the running back.
And, you know, he was the Schrodinger's cat, Schlesinger, I forget.
a German name.
I forget that fella who was, you know, kind of the nominal RB1.
It just seemed like in the preseason books, I know Steele, Athlon, those guys had it.
But I didn't really have much of a beat on what was going on in there.
I think we do now.
And at the very least, again, situation to monitor, they have an incredible schedule.
This is a team that didn't really lose that many transfers from a Power 5 roster,
go down and play a Mountain West schedule, and they're going to be able to swing.
smoke some teams.
So look, I want any team that's scoring 35 or more points, you want to be involved in
how they are putting those points on the board.
And if Weishon Parker has established himself as he, you know, very well may as that RV won,
he's going to get opportunity.
He's going to catch passes.
He's going to be an asset in PPR league.
He's going to get 30 plus receptions.
And that's a recipe for sleeper value.
Yeah.
That's really good.
Yonki, you got anything to add?
I would monitor them.
I mean, they could still give a lot of guys carries.
So do it against someone other than Portland State and prove that you're going to get more than 10 touches a game.
But yeah, intriguing.
I agree with everything for a ton set.
That offense is extremely intriguing.
Yeah, I agree.
Hey, I want to talk about there's one player that just stuck out to me this week.
And partially, he stuck out to me because I just didn't realize what OC had come into Ohio to the Bobcats.
And it's not Anthony Tias.
It was Coleman Owen.
this week.
I don't know if you saw him inside wide receiver slot,
went off, had 14 targets, I think 10 catches for,
I don't even remember, 127 yards, something like that.
But he had a really good week one.
And I started like looking, you know, into him a little bit and into their OC.
And I did not realize that Brian Smith had become the OC of Ohio.
And I don't know if you guys know Brian Smith,
but he was the OC with Nick Rolovich when Nick was at Hawaii.
and when Nick was at Washington State.
And so we know guys like John Ursula,
Cedric Bird, what they did in this type of running to shoot offense
where this inside wide receiver is just eight.
And Coleman Owen actually came in from Northern Arizona,
transferred in this year to Ohio.
And he was pretty an all-conference player at the FCS level comes in.
And he was the captain on the team.
and he comes in, he, like, dominates the targets week one in that Ohio offense with the run to shoot.
Like, I think he's like one percent.
I think he's like not owned at all.
Are you guys doing anything?
Yeah.
What? He's a guy that I'm like, man, I am definitely picking him up this week just because I'm like, man, inside wide receiver.
I don't know, you know, it's year one of a new run and shoot.
But it's a lot of the same principles that they ran with Cole McDonald.
I was watching this like, this does not look like.
a Curtis Rourke type office.
I'm like, what happened to Ohio,
which is why I started looking into it
and finding out this is actually pretty much
the run-and-shoe RPO style offense
that they're running there.
But any thoughts on Coleman Owen
or is everything I'm saying,
do you guys already know all this
and I'm just saying something new?
Any takes?
I did not, so I thought that was a great point.
I think what I'm likely to do early on in the season,
like honestly I'm just going to sort by targets and see who got a lot of targets because there's always handfuls of these guys from the smaller schools from the G5 schools that just kind of pop up out of nowhere because you try to do your homework but the reporting is not really out there and I'm just going to do that the kid on utab who's getting a million targets cam Thomas sure Coleman Owens yeah absolutely I mean it could be a fluke and you're playing from behind but like if you dominate and get 14 targets and you produce these are these are guys I'm going to take shots on like my dynasty.
D rosters on my teams that stink.
Like, I'm just going to sort by targets and pick up like six of these guys because you
could get a guy who gets 100 targets on the air and he's going to be he's going to be a guy
you plug and play at points.
Yeah.
And the younger, the better on that sort of philosophy.
The thing is about Ohio last year is, and you mentioned it didn't look like the
Nathan Wark offense because they didn't have the defense they did last year.
I mean, their defense was ridiculous.
They were fourth in EPA per play, six in success rate.
You know, he allowed 16 points a game.
Like, that's ridiculous.
That being said, they returned 35% of their production,
and they rank 126 in returning pro on the defensive side.
So it's like, that defense from last year that ranked fifth and, you know,
stopping the run, that's gone.
It's evaporated.
And now they're going to have to make some, you know, some adjustments.
On the other side, too, they're 116th of returning production on the offensive side.
And obviously they brought in Tyos.
I mean, you bring in Coleman, those guys are, you know, former transfers.
Those guys are from the outside.
And they've addressed this sort of deficiencies on the offensive side from the portal.
But they didn't know on the defensive side.
You know, it's still that that depth chart is still fairly untouched,
just maybe one transfer.
So they're going to have to do something to win games that is not what they did last year.
I think this could be the first sort of step in that direction of what we,
see from Ohio. We'll see how this proceeds. Yeah. I got, I thought Shane asked a great question. I think
I know what y'all's answer is going to be, but I want to ask the question. I have one last
question before we get off. But Shane says, who would you target first between Owen and Tyos?
I mean, I'll get my answer here in a minute, but I'll let you guys answer first. I'm going to go
with Tyos just because of the rich tradition that we've seen from the Ohio running back room. I mean,
It's one of those true legacy positions that has about five years of, you know,
dating back to as our friend Jared will remember one of,
I think Jared, you know, might even consider himself the captain of the tugboat.
Remember the Amantre Tuggle, you know, two, two.
And, you know, this is just another in a long line of an illustrious list of Tim Albin running backs.
So I will trust the system here and the 200 yard.
That's good.
What's got, JD?
I guess I'll give a different take.
Just kind of the way I like do business and I do think in a vacuum, I think everyone probably probably is going with Tyos.
I agree with that.
But just kind of the way I do business like what do I think the the fab bits are going to be if it's fab?
Like I just think Owens is probably going to go for less than a guy who ran for 200 yards.
So like in my opinion that's a guy would part.
It doesn't necessarily mean I'm giving more fab, but it's more so like, okay, I want this guy more sort of thing.
Or like I think my odds of getting him are better and he got if that makes any sense.
So I would more so try to find the right bit on Owen.
Because Tice.
For the cost of acquisition, he's a better bargain.
Yep.
I don't think Owen, many people are going to be on him.
Again, like this is what makes CFF so great.
Like, we study this all offseason.
And again, maybe you guys knew that Brian Smith was there in his history.
But like I totally missed that he was there and that this offense was changing in this way.
One thing with Tias that I would caution a little.
bit. And this is just devil's advocate. Ricky Hunt got like the first six carries of the game.
And then Tyas just went got hot and went off. And what Albin said after the game was that, hey,
they're going to ride the hot hand each week. Now, it's got to be Tyos, right? That gets the first
shot at this for the next few weeks, you know, but like just that comments out there, you know,
don't know if it happens in that way. But Ricky Hunt did start the game and, you know, and didn't
look terrible. Tyas just looked phenomenal. And maybe that should.
just all the difference in the world.
Any takes on that or anything?
Okay.
All right.
Let me ask this last question because it's from our boys.
Oh, first off, no, we don't answer it.
Bambers has to come on the show to get his answer to question.
How dare he go and play hooky, you know, leaves us, abandons us for Bruno, you know, okay.
Okay.
Here's a deal.
Mike Bainters is a two-time winner of this, right?
All I'm going to say is I definitely think J.D.
Frotanka win it, but they're, like, unless somebody passed me up tonight or yesterday,
I had the most points.
Oh, I think in week one.
So I think I hit the 200 point barrier.
I don't know if anybody else hit that or not, but I am the guy with the highest winning
percentage ever in that league to not win it.
And so maybe, maybe my time is just now.
We'll have to see.
Could be.
I know.
I need some things that happen with my team.
I feel good about it.
I got a victory week one, but man, I got a,
tough game this week. I think that's going to, I think that's going to decide how this goes, but
you know, cautiously optimistic, but definitely, definitely not ready to go and talk about championships.
One and all, I'm happy. Look, you guys, you guys have a much better shot than me. I was just excited
to have a good week one. Week one, though, honestly, I mean, it can mean a lot, but, man,
there's a lot of mismatches in week one. So who knows what happens? Hopefully things even out over time.
