Starting point is 00:00:04 Hello. This is the CFF All-Axis podcast. I get them opening. I'm sorry about that, Josh. I'm here with Josh Havallier and my cameraman extraordinaire from this past weekend. None of JD Yankee. He even has the Oregon background and everything going high tech on us here, JD. Very nicely done, my friend. J.D., why don't you tell us just a little bit about the scenes, the sounds of both USC, Wisconsin, and your own Oregon Ducks riding into Pasadena, which is very lovely. We really like Pasadena to start their Big Ten careers. The first game for both USC and Oregon, the first official Big Ten games for both of them. Jay, tell me a little bit about how the experience was for you, my friend.
Starting point is 00:00:56 So I'll probably use some of your own words in the retelling of this event because no one says it better than our loquacious friend, Mr. Froton. Oh, thank you, English teacher, J.D. Yanke. As we were driving in, right, Mr. Proton says, sometimes history just happens when you least expect it. You don't see it coming, and all of a sudden you're just there in a moment in history, and you know it. Whereas for this one, you know history's coming.
Starting point is 00:01:22 We could feel it. We know two big 10 games, a double header in California, sunny, beautiful California. There's never been seen quite like it. And we witnessed it. The sights and sounds. unforgettable. It was a beautiful day. The Coliseum, I've never seen the Coliseum quite like that. Been to a lot of Notre Dame games at the Coliseum. Those are obviously lovely, but it's just a different atmosphere, man. It's just different with Wisconsin town. It felt different. And then the
Starting point is 00:01:48 ducks just taking over Pasadena. Man, the ducks are taking over the Big Ten. You love to see it. California in general, West Coast, okay, all the way up through Oregon, West Coast, we're coming. We're coming for the Big Ten. Yeah, we went from the Bowels of L.A. in Englewood slash Compton, City of Compton, as a great man once sang, and then going over the nestled into the, you know, the base of the San Gabriel Mountains in the background of the Rose Bowl and Pasadena, just a momentous weekend. But that being said, here we are to break down all the sights and sounds. I got to watch all the games that GEDY and I missed. I sat there and pretty much dominoed them today, and I'm excited to go over some of our favorite WaverWire plays, of course. And Josh, why don't you tell us where you want to start?
Starting point is 00:02:41 Yeah, well, a couple comments here. Old Steve Jackson over here. Pasadena is great. Just ask Alabama. A little shout out. Oh, Jack. A little bit today. It's a fun little shout out, the Alabama-Michigan game.
Starting point is 00:02:55 And Bobby, in the comments, born and raised in Pasadenae. I will always love it. Bobby, I actually, yeah, I lived in Pasadena. I lived about a mile from the road hole. Yeah. Oh, wow. Yeah, right there by John Muir High School. Over there where Jackie Robinson went back in the day.
Starting point is 00:03:15 So, yeah, fun stuff. Glad you guys got to experience. Pasadena is a pretty sweet town. I mean, not going to lie. It's one of those hidden gems, I think, of L.A. I agree. Oh, absolutely. It's a hidden gem.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Wonderful. It's on the outskirts, you know, like you're right. You're out by the mountains, so you're east. Yeah. So, I mean, let's just start here. Yeah, and we can get into some other stuff after this, but what did Oregon look like up close? I mean, did they look like a dominant team, like a playoff team?
Starting point is 00:03:45 Or, yeah, I didn't even, I didn't see much of the game. So catch me up on what you guys saw and what it was like to be that close to a team that seems like they're that dominant. I guess from my perspective, I thought they were fast. You know, and what J.D. and I also talked about was our boy, Sadiq, and seeing him in person, I know he's not some big, you know, super college fantasy guy, but, man, he's in person and his frame. I know he's an hback type. Like, is he a wire receiver?
Starting point is 00:04:17 Is he a tight end? He's more of an hback. But, man, that dude moves extremely well for his size and the density of his frame. That was certainly something that we love. looked at. Also, I mean, where's Evan Stewart? Where is he been? Once again, we were expecting some Evan Stewart. You know, I got him in the Golden Pigs invitation. I'll shout out to Justin Leah in that particular league was hope. I'm hanging on for dear life to him. What more? We got to do at this point. Trayshon Holden, bigger, physical, you know, just imposing his will on defenders
Starting point is 00:04:54 and looking like the true number two on the outside to Tess Johnson, who obviously got pounded with targets, went over his five and a half receiving. Yeah, Evan Stewart, man. We're going to have to put a note carton out for that guy, gone missing for sure. Shout out in the comments over here to Steve Jackson. It's a 50-teamer update. Two out of the three hosts won this week. I think he's referring to our two double-heder host, who won.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And Steve Jackson, congratulations to you, sir, gave my first- Jacko. teamer. So well done, sir. I could not, did not have the firepower. Unfortunately, I did not have two Ashton Genties on my team. If I would have, I might have beat you. But I only had one. And the rest of my team decided to take a bye this week. So good job, my friend. Hopefully I can meet you in the playoffs. I would like to point out as well that the people on this podcast right now, all this one, but me, Josh and Zach Hall, I believe, are all four and one, if I'm not mistaken. Is that correct, Josh?
Starting point is 00:05:59 I know I'm four and one. I don't, I think Zach is as well. Zach was worried. I can't remember if there's an injury or something. He's a bit concerned. I think it's this quarterback position, actually, that. My quarterback position is a disgrace. So, I'm in big trouble.
Starting point is 00:06:15 But that being said, the trade deadline is passed. Still sitting four and one. I think I'm an eighth overall out of 50 teams. Josh is way up there. I want to say we're all top 12 and currently in a playoff spot. But I've got Keone Jenkins. I started the last two weeks. I mean, he's putting up 20 points a week, but it's merely stopgap option.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Picked up CJ Bailey for NC State. They're playing Wake this week. He might get the start. Also grabbed Evan Simon for Temple. And now he's injured. And they're playing Yukon. It's the matchup I need him. So, yeah, we're, it's, it's,
Starting point is 00:06:50 My skill positions, loaded, loaded. Obviously, I have Cleo Mullings. Anthony Tias, I picked up before week one. Somebody dropped them pre-week one. Trevionn Henderson. And then for wide receivers, Aaron Anderson, LSU, was a $190.9 free agent acquisition. Zachariah Branch, I selected, I don't know, in the draft. And Ted Johnson was my number one overall, my number one selection.
Starting point is 00:07:16 So those guys have all been huge for me. really excited about Kanye Udo too who will get to. I also have him hanging on the bench waiting. So I don't know, Josh. I'm feeling pretty good about my 50-Tino team. I'm going to do a, I think it's time to do an update since we're about halfway through the season. I'm going to put an update for all my leagues. I'll just do a thread on Twitter tomorrow while I'll just get in the zone and just go through whatever the records are for each.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So far so good though. That's awesome. Yeah. Well, Steve in the chat, he's got a. he's got a little update for our host. Zach is indeed 4-1. Jay-D, he is 2-and-3, but he was the top-scoring team this week. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:07:57 So we're going up here. So 4-1, all the hosts on this, and then J-D, top-scoring team. We're looking good. A couple transitions here. I do want to talk about Ashton Genty. He is on my 50-team or league. I did get blessed with the first pick, and that was a pretty easy one. And we all know who the first pick is.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yes, Ashton-Gentie all the way. And he also had a big week, what, week three against Oregon. And then this last weekend. And I want to talk about Ashen Jensi's start to the year and just how historic this has been. And I want to talk about whether you can keep it up. But let's take a quick break and then after the break we'll come back and talk to Jenty. All right. Real quick before we get into Jenty, I want to tell you guys about a couple of things we got going on here.
Starting point is 00:08:42 We are moving up in the world and mainly not because of us, but because of you guys. Your support and whether you guys have supported this podcast, we've had thousands of downloads really over the last month. We've really been trending up in this. And so we want to thank you guys for that. But also what that's allowed us to do is to create our own podcast feed. So CFF All Access is getting its own podcast feed this week. It's actually up. And you can get that on any of the platforms.
Starting point is 00:09:10 So if you can go and give us some reviews and subscribe to that, that would be really helpful for us. also because we are starting our own feed we also wanted to give you guys some more content as well so froton doesn't even know about this yet but jd and i are starting another podcast that is a props a player props only podcast that'll drop on Fridays and so we're going to give you what probably 15 to 20 uh kind of quick hitters so it'd be like a 20 minute podcast pretty quick to consume but we'll drop it on Friday morning. We'll do it late Thursday night. So the lines don't move very much. But lots of stuff going on over at fantasy points. We also have a new partnership with price picks in light of this podcast and all these other stuff that we have
Starting point is 00:10:00 coming out. And so if you sign up there, if you haven't already, $5 just to deposit, you get $50 free on there. So super fun. Got a props podcast coming out. I wish our boy Fro's could be doing that with us. But he's a bit, he's, he's bigger than us. I'm occupied. Oh, yeah, right, right. I'm here. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:10:22 I'm not bigger or anything. No, I'm saying, I'm saying, the props or the props for all. But we are hitting a good rate. Listen, we're talking about props, and this is something that everybody should know out there. There is nothing. I've said before, I'll say it again. College fantasy football makes you exponentially better at props, at dinosaurs, at dinosaurs, fantasy football on the NFL side on picking games themselves and just the overall landscape of
Starting point is 00:10:51 college football nobody I mean not even the national guys you talk to are going to have the depth that you have the G5 shout out to the G5 podcast it's been a revolutionary experience Luke justice those guys I mean nobody is better at picking the college football props than the college fantasy football community it's that simple yeah we're the best in the world, guys, because we've been doing it long than anyone we've been looking at it. And you have all these Johnny come lately as you think they know how to do all this stuff. No, we're the best that there is. So the point being, and I'll leave it at this, I'm sorry, we'll get on to a damn show.
Starting point is 00:11:28 College fantasy football just makes you better at everything, gambling, or fantasy adjacent in the entire football sphere. And it's, frankly, should be the baseline for everybody if you want to be a true expert and you think you're going to go up to the NFL and you're going to be a writer. and you're going to break in with those guys, you got to be different. That's a homogenous industry that's everybody's doing the same thing. You got to be different. If you want to be the best, you have to have that foundation at the college level.
Starting point is 00:11:54 And there's nothing better you can do than play college fancy football to be acclimated to the skill position. Absolutely. And one of the things that I think helps us too is that we all do as part of CFF, we do projections. And so a lot of these different sites, we have projections. We have props, comparison tools that compares them to our projections. because our projections and they're granular, right? So there's stat line projections because they're so good. We even have an edge with our projections and we have tools that can help you guys.
Starting point is 00:12:21 We have to compare those and see where the discrepancy is in these projections on either side. Either too high or too low. So there's so much, there is an edge here. There's money to be made. What I love most about props. Again, this is in a prop show. What do I love most is that we can work together to help one another. I listen to you guys.
Starting point is 00:12:40 We all bet stuff around behind the scenes. We all talk and try to make sure that we're all informed. It's great. We all win. Everybody wins. There's no losing. It's not a zero-sum game like college fantasy football. We can all win with the same team.
Starting point is 00:12:59 So I do. I love that everybody's riding together aspect of things too, which you know, most of it. You listen to this. You're probably riding with this. Yeah, for sure. last thing Steve's asked will I still be able to hear you on the old feed yes we'll still be on the fantasy points feed and we'll also have our own feed so we won't be killing that for the time being so should be good get it get our podcast any way that you want to consume it for sure all right I want to talk about Ashton Genty though because this kid is just on an unbelievably historic pace I want to give you guys some of his stats and then compare it to a couple of couple all timers, I think all timers in the CFF space. And then get your thoughts on where is this thing going with Ashton Genti? So Ashen Genti's currently averaging 42.6 fantasy points per game.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Last week, the dude dropped 51. He had 26 carries for 259 yards and four touchdowns. Now, I think what's most impressive on Genty on the year is that he's averaging 10 yards to carry, which is absolutely insane. He's on pace for over a 12-game season, 2,535 yards and 39 touchdowns, and 18 receptions for 57 yards. And that would be 42.6 fantasy points per game, essentially. For perspective, Barry Sanders and his all-time great year, right, when he put up, what, 2,600 yards rushing and 37 touchdowns, he did it in a 11.
Starting point is 00:14:32 11 games. So that would be 46.8 fantasy points per game. And a more modern one is Melvin Gordon. Remember that run 10 years ago? 2014. Melvin Gordon had... Wisconsin had a few of those outrageous seasons, but definitely Melvin Gordon, of course.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Yeah, 2,587 yards and 29 touchdowns. Oh. That year, he also had, I think, 19 receptions for 153 yards and other three touchdowns. He actually had 34, that was 4. That was over 14 games. So he played a lot more. But it was 34.6 fantasy points per game was the Melbourne Gordian year. So Gentie's like at 40 to a game.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I mean, this is pretty insane. I won't talk too much more. I want to hear from you guys. Is this sustainable for Genti, one. And two, like what are we looking at as far as, is this going to be like an all-time great season, barring injury coming from Ashton Jenty? What do you guys think?
Starting point is 00:15:30 Well, I mean, at this break, How can you say no? He already went and lit up Oregon for 40 points. You know what I mean? He could have pretty much done anything he wanted against Portland State if they wanted to. They were like, no, no, it's fine, Ashton. We're going to be giving you 30 touches a game for the remainder of the season. Chill out with your 11 carries.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So it's like, it could be even worse. That's the thing, is it slanted. If you take out Portland State and you say, how many points is he scoring per game against, you know, FBS opponents being wazoo, not a pushover, at Oregon, and then at Georgia Southern, who, all right, fine, they breed shootouts. But he went 66, 40, and 51 and a half. So he's over 50 points a game at that. I mean, obviously, I'll do the math in a second here.
Starting point is 00:16:21 J.D. can talk and extrapolate out if it feels water. Yeah, what do you think? I think, of course, he's going to have a historic season. I think it's very evident for those with the eyes. I remember last year, like, we all knew he was good, right? We all knew he was very good coming into last year. And then immediately just seeing him, like his first touches last year and being like, this guy is not tackled.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Like these guys are not tackling him. And I think they were playing Washington games. It's like that team went to the national championship. He was doing it to them. He's doing it to Oregon right now. Who has a chance to go undefeated? No, he's absolutely the truth. And there's the thing is, he has six receptions for 19 yards.
Starting point is 00:16:56 One of his best attribute is as a receipt. youth is as a receiver. Yes. He got almost 600 yards receiving and five touchdowns last year. That's coming. You know it's coming. So like what is he going to do? Even score more points.
Starting point is 00:17:06 I mean, he's got Utah state up. They're not going to tackle him. He's going to go absolutely berserk. And, yeah, a proton hit on it. They're going to give them the volume. This is a team that's trying to make the playoffs. There's absolutely zero reason to slow down. It's something to witness, that's for sure.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah. And I did the numbers. 52 and a half points per game against FBS opponents. Again. Wow. He could have gone for as many points as he literally felt like going for against Portland State the game before Wazoo. But they had Wazoo looming and they just played Oregon. And you got a sandwich game against Portland State.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Yeah, let's hang out. Let's chill out. So that 42 and a half is underselling him. It's 52 and a half is the real number. Yeah. So, you know, his number on prize picks last week, and I gave this out as I'm probably sure you did because it was a laugh. Price picks had him with 27 and a half fantasy points. okay sure
Starting point is 00:17:59 he almost doubled it you went 51.6 come on 27 and a half what do you put him at 40 this week I don't even know I don't even know which is hilarious because his prop on prize picks
Starting point is 00:18:11 was for rushing yards was like 165 and a half and it got down to 159 I was like I'm betting this and it's like the second carry or his first carry of the game runs for 76 yards and I don't know if you guys actually saw
Starting point is 00:18:24 because you guys are probably at the Oregon UCLA game at that point He bounced off of like four dudes. And it's just like the most amazing run. And I was listening to the cover three podcast. I think I was on like on Sunday. But they do the late night Saturday podcast. And they are watching their live reacting to Gentis runs.
Starting point is 00:18:44 And it's just like every five minutes like, oh, another 50 yard touchdown. Another 50 yard touchdown. I mean, this kid is just, this is insane what he does. And his contact balance is just ungodly. He's the best G5 running back since Marshall Floss. Yeah. And that's 92. He's averaging seven yards after contact per attempt.
Starting point is 00:19:05 And like Josh said, it's not fluky. It's not like he just bounces a few ones. Like he's going over guys consistently. Five more mistackles than anyone in the country. Genti changes the way. And I think this is an important fact. He changes the way. If a team has played Ashton Genti, you need to look at their statistics differently.
Starting point is 00:19:22 You need to look at it. Oregon right now shows is one of the worst teams against the rush. in the country, but you go into that UCLA matchup, you're not expecting you can get around to CLA because they don't have Ashton Genti. So it fundamentally changes how you should look at every single matchup. Have they played Boise? You have to ask yourself that every single game.
Starting point is 00:19:38 So this is funny. I was looking at this before we came on for Washington State. He had 26 carries for 259 yards. He had 234 yards after contact. So basically he got hit after a yard of running and then produced the rest of his, yards after that. I mean, it's absolutely insane. To J.D.'s point,
Starting point is 00:20:01 Oregon ranks 113th in EPA for rush. So, and 38th in rushing success rate. But that's because Ashton Genty was ripping runs off and left and right. So a successful run is just a successful run. That's a successful rate. It doesn't measure the magnitude. So they're only giving up a 37% success rate. But the magnitude of the rushes for Asch and Genti,
Starting point is 00:20:26 mean that they're 113th in EPA. So he is, he's a one-man wrecking crew in every sense of the term. And yeah, no surprise, Boise State first in yards per successful rush in the country. The averageed 15.1 yards per successful rush. EPA per rush, number one in the country. And interestingly enough, you know, we're talking about the yards after contact, but we're not also not talking, you know, maybe not. enough credits being given to the Boise State offensive line. Yards before contact, 4.86 as a team,
Starting point is 00:21:05 yards before contact, that is also first in the country in an absolutely a staggering line. You see you see two. That's a great, like, oh, that's pretty solid. You know, two and a half. Oh, my gosh, you're blown away. Almost five yards before contact. I mean, the whole thing, the whole roughing attack is just one nightmare. Lamarcus peppermint here said A-Chain said Gentie is already a top five NFL running back. I remember when I first put, I have Gentie as my Debbie RB3, which looks foolish now. He should be RB1. And yet when I did that, the being of the off-season, it was like a risky move.
Starting point is 00:21:46 And it's just, it's just insane how much this guy has just shot up, I think, even draft boards. And I think what he's going to do in the NFL is going to be equally as incredible. as what he's doing in college. He's absolutely a second round pick. I would be shocked if he wasn't taking in the second round. Yeah, absolutely. A little look real quick at Boise State's schedule, and then we'll answer that question.
Starting point is 00:22:12 But they got Utah State coming up October 5th, and then Hawaii, the big defense they play left is UNLV on October 25th. Is that in Vegas or is that in Boise? I think Bobby says, can we get another Vegas appearance, Boise versus UNLV on Friday, October 25th? Well, well, that is an interesting way. It's a Friday nighter. It's at Allegiant. You said it, Bobby says it's out of Legion.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Very intrigued, we'll put it that way. I will say this. There's also another Friday night game for UNLV coming up, isn't there, Bobby? That would be this Friday. And that would be against Syracuse. and what is a Titanic college fantasy football matchup and Bobby LB at that game.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Wow. That's a... You and LV, the first post-Suka game I will be in attendance. Fear not. That's amazing. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Well, good stuff. I think we're on agreement that Genty's a pretty historic running back already in college and knock on wood as long as he doesn't get hurt this kid set up. As long as they,
Starting point is 00:23:24 I think they're, I think, think they're going to keep feeding him too because he's on a Heisman run right now to try to get to New York. And, you know, I think they're going to keep feeding the ball. J.D, any last parting thoughts before we move on? Yeah, I just wanted to point out, they got three Friday games left. Almost half of their games are on Friday. Like, they got some standalone games to get more eyeballs on him, and they are going to
Starting point is 00:23:48 make sure he goes bananas for every single one. I love it. I love it. Well, hey, let's talk some waiver wire after this. there's a question about Brendan Marion getting a head coaching job at UNLV from UNLV. So we'll talk about that after the break. All right. Question here real quick to kick us off.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Do you think Brendan Marion gets a head coaching job after this year, guys? Eric, we'll let you let you start. Bing! 100%. Yeah, easy call. Easyest call. Yeah. Where do you think, do you think he would be best suited with his go-go offense?
Starting point is 00:24:24 Do you think there's a team out there that sticks out to you or a place, a system that needs that kind of creative offense to stand out? I'd like to see him go Big Ten, because the Big Ten offenses, you know, with Andy Connell-Nicky going to Penn State, you know, that it is kind of shown that you're going to have to score with Oregon, you're going to have to score with Ohio State,
Starting point is 00:24:49 you're going to have to score with Penn State now. And if you want to be in the Big Ten championship game, and you want to be in the 12-teamer, you know, you're going to have to, you're going to have to fire away. Now, does that mean he's, is he a head coach in the big time? Maybe they bring him in his offensive coordinator, right? I could see that happening like a high-profile OC job. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I can see him go in that direction, but, you know, maybe at Mississippi State, you know, post-Levy. Oh, no, Levy's there. Excuse me, I mean Mississippi State. I meant Oklahoma. Levy left, Oklahoma. they need something going on over there. It's a catastrophe.
Starting point is 00:25:29 I mean, can it get any worse than when we saw these lost to Auburn? Imminently flawed team. Finally, a good press conference for you freeze. I was at one that was like a funeral. So, you know, good for those Auburn folk. Yeah, there you go. J.D., what do you think? Brennan, get a head coaching job soon or a high-profile O.C. job?
Starting point is 00:25:48 I'm a big Brennan-Marian fan, so probably, and there was chatter about that this off-season. And it looks like they're going to have a special year. so probably, but I'd be very surprised if it was a power conference job. He's still really young. It wasn't that long ago. We were talking about UNLV's offense disappointing, looking to disjointed. There's, I don't know if it's come out, what coach was making the promise to Sluco that didn't fulfill it.
Starting point is 00:26:07 They're 84th in success rate right now. Kind of, I know they played some tough teams. So, yeah, I could see him getting a high-profile OC job or going to make a G5 team. Very fun. That's what I would be rooting for. Go have another fun offense we can draft in. Yeah. More fun of the
Starting point is 00:26:23 We can get in CFF the better. Yeah. Interesting. I like Bobby has always good insights, but he says Barry and Marion might both be gone. Barry back to Arkansas and I can see him bring a Marion and share it with him. Imagine Taylor and Green in the go-go. It is interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:40 I think Arkansas is the type of place that I could actually benefit from an offense like this that would, you know, a little creativity to it. If they brought back Petrino, they'll bring in Brennan there. Oh, for sure. For sure. And I wanted to talk about UNLV to transition to WaverWire Talk and QBs because there was a big transition this week at UNLV when Matthew Sluka decided to leave the team. And Hage, Malik Williams, you know, great to Ricky White's happiness. And any CFFF owner that has Ricky White on their team is very excited to see Hage Malik Williams. Williams take over. Finally. And he's got to be at the top.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Seriously, he's been a blank. Yes. But Hajmalik Williams has got to be at the top of any waiver wire talk as we get into that this week. And J.D., I'm going to kick off with you. Who are the guys that, you know, is Hajmlich Williams at the top of yours? And if not, who do you have? I want to hear all your guys.
Starting point is 00:27:42 He's definitely at the top of mind. This was divine intervention for Ricky White owners. And if you are really hurting that quarterback, I mean, he can't ask for much more than this. Yeah, Alonza Barnett. I know we keep talking about it. I just wanted to shot him out. This guy had six big time throws.
Starting point is 00:27:57 He's not just, right, that top of the country, this guy is not just going out there and producing, right? It's not just the empty stats. Josh mentioned it last week. This is back-to-back coaching staffs that have loved the guy. The last one, Signetti, looks like he knows a little bit about football. Yeah. And he was ready to go to him as a young kid.
Starting point is 00:28:13 So, I mean, James Madison, right, over 100 points in two straight weeks. I'm sure he's already off the waiver wire. but wow, it looks like we could have some stars arrive after week four and after week five in Barnett and in Hajmal. Yeah, that's the beauty of college fantasy football is it's the constant discovery process. There's always movement, there's always shuttling up and shuttling down the depth charts. When you're watching the NFL, obviously we got our Monday night games, you know who's playing in every game. You basically have an idea of everybody who, you know, doing what, the great unknown of college fantasy football. And I was very lucky to have Hajmalik in the G5, which saved my bacon on Sulaika.
Starting point is 00:28:56 I backed him up with Haj Malik. And in my home league, the NCCF, that we have 45 roster spots, but we don't have a waiver. So I took Haji Malik with my last pick in the entire draft, my last one. I didn't have Sluca. If he wins this job, he could. He's a better pass than Sluca. I wanted to at least have them on my roster. And that has been one of the better moves I made in that entire draft.
Starting point is 00:29:27 And I will say that I took Gabe Sawchuck accidentally in that draft. So the good thing is now I have 975 points scored and no one else even has 800. So I'm absolutely bashing the entire league. But I did Gabe Sauch. That's amazing. I love that. Yeah, Alante Barnett, man. I mean, that kid, he might go down as like CFF waiver wire pickup of the year.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I mean, if he's putting up, these numbers are insane. And look, the Sunbelt looks pretty bad. And JMU schedule looks very soft. They're a team that could, you know, compete for that G5 spot if some of these other G5 teams slip up and they go 12 and 0, which, look, I'm a JMU alumni. And I did not see this. this coming i mean i don't know yeah yeah so and but i mean who could have predicted this i mean when you thought dylan morris was going to start the year we all know which is the first thing is
Starting point is 00:30:28 like we we we all knew what dillan morris was so we just never gave them a shot and then alonze barnett comes in and like yeah you can see why he was over jordan mccloud uh to start the year last year so yeah fun stuff what other what other qbs you guys got on the waiver wire this week I'm going to go with, am I muted? No, you're good. You're good. Okay, good. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:30:53 That I hit mute for a second. Now I'm back. My boy, Wully Woolridge, you know, crowd favorite over there in Louisiana. Pretty nice little game against Wake, right? Put up 34 points, 20 of 29 passing, 69% completion rate. Nine yards per attempt, three touchdowns. Even goes and cashes in a rushing touchdown with 34 yards. He's actually had over 30 yards rushing.
Starting point is 00:31:17 of the last three games. And obviously, you know, as mentioned, four touchdowns in each of the last two games. Three touchdowns in week one. And then they smoked a beleaguered Kennesaw State defense in week two where he didn't even have to do anything. He just hung out basically. He only through 19 passes. But against actual competition, look, Louisiana, 40, 34, 33, 41 in terms of points scored.
Starting point is 00:31:44 In a time where as we're living in the. running clock time. It seems like scores have been somewhat suppressed, at least in the Power 5 level. We've seen defense be more affected. Man, not so far with Louisiana. And that's what we like to see because Wake put up 38, Tulane put up 41 on them. Let's, I'm excited to see these fellow pretty talented Sunbelt teams. I would say the Sunbelt is as good as any of the G5 leagues at this point. I mean, obviously the AEC maybe has a step up, but I think they're right there with any of them. So I'm excited to see what he can do. He's only at a 9% ownership rate. So despite the fact a couple of 30 plus point weeks in a row, he's quite available.
Starting point is 00:32:26 We're going to go with Christian Villiers. 4%. I do like that. Proton, French Canadian, pronunciation. You guys didn't think I had that in my back, did you? Think again. I'm proud to Proton, always at the surprise. I want to make sure I'm over delivering, you know, for the fans here. with because you know, Georgia State, not afraid to score points either. You know, he's rested that job and he's thrown 45 passes last game, 41 passes the game before that, 38 against Chattanooga, led a 36 to 32 upset over Vandy. Are you kidding me? Mr. Valleux.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Penn State transfer had four touchdowns two weeks ago, two touchdowns this past week, but threw for 356. Look, if you're in a six-point passing touchdown league, if you're in a six-point passing touchdown league, if you're in a league that prioritizes in any way the passing yardage, he isn't going to run for much, okay? But if you're in that sort of a passing-oriented structure of value is only owned in 4% of leagues, you can do a lot worse than a speculative pickup of them, 4% why not? And then Jake, the snake, Retslaff.
Starting point is 00:33:33 You know what I like about Retsla? I had a great joke back in the day for my hockey league, right? So with hockey players, they all have ridiculous names. So whenever we take some guy, you try to give him a nickname. So Ryan Getslap, former captain for the Anaheim Ducks, longtime captain. I mean, he played till he was almost 40. My nickname for Getslap was Ryan, when Dane Cook takes the stage, he never gets laugh. And I'm going to try to repurpose that for Jake Retzlap here.
Starting point is 00:34:08 you know and get some dain cook center and there's no offense of dain cook fans out there but it's just the comedian i had to use great retzlaf surprisingly leaving b yu undefeated he's only eight percent owned right now and i mean i get it look i mean you know temper expectations he's had a sub 55 percent completion rate twice all right but against balear it's fairly decent secondary put up 34, 38 against K State. We remember that game. Wyoming, 34. I mean, they beat SMU.
Starting point is 00:34:43 At what point is Kalani Sataki and BYU, the real deal here? You know? So, 8% own? Jake Retzlap? There's nothing to laugh about with that kind of production. J.D., what's you got, man?
Starting point is 00:34:58 Got any more? Yeah, I got a few I want to talk about. Proton hit on some I wanted to. First off, just shout out to Archman. planning PFF's highest graded pass this week. Hopefully get to see more of this guy. Danny O'Neill kind of back from the dead. So he looked awful to start the year, as San Diego State has. But he was PFF's third highest graded pastor this week.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Finally had a good game. And if he was indeed not healthy and took a week off and returned looking that good. Shout out to him. Hopefully we keep seeing Danny O'Neill because obviously a very exciting true freshman in that scheme, Michelle Lewis. Other that, Hunter Watson for Sam Houston State. If you haven't been paying attention to the Bearcats,
Starting point is 00:35:33 I think they are beating and forcing you to after they just won a shootout against Texas State. Yeah. Winning a shootout against Texas State is not a team. It's not something a lot of teams can do. Hunter Watson's been super impressive. Great runner. He's crossed a century mark on the ground in two straight games and has two touchdowns on the ground in both of those. So that's 246 total on four rushing scores in two weeks.
Starting point is 00:35:56 You have to pay attention to that. You have to pay attention to the fact that this offense is moving. This team is serious. and their offensive line returned absolutely everybody from a year ago. And I think it was kind of something that just kind of got overlooked. Like the betting market loved this team and still does. I mean, they've been undervalue. They've been crushing it every week.
Starting point is 00:36:13 And a lot of that's because they return a lot of production. They upgraded at quarterback and running back in the lines way better. And they upgraded at the skill position. So that's a serious team I want to jump. Other than that, Ben Woldridge, I'm really glad you shot him out for a ton. 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games in six point leagues. Louisiana to put some stats on how well they're moving the ball. 13th, EPA per play, 18th in success rate.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Big Ben is a guy who I've kind of had on my bench in Dynasty Leagues. He's a guy I've added, he's just intriguing from a fantasy perspective. He's got a pretty good arm, and he's really big, and he's athletic. If you got a good O line in front of you and not a clear running back to hand the ball to, that's something I can pay attention to. O line is kicking some serious butt. This team ranks third in a havoc allowed. That shows me that the offensive success is going to be sustainable
Starting point is 00:36:59 and Sunbelt play, and they're going to continue to have some pretty good play. So I think you can look at him as a borderline starter. Their worst offensive performance this season was when they put up 400 yards and 6.6 yards per play against a good two-lane defense. So I absolutely am buying Sam Houston State. I absolutely am buying
Starting point is 00:37:15 Louisiana, and they have dual threat quarterbacks leading the way. Yeah. A couple of ads that. Did you guys mention Bryson Daly? Yeah. I don't think I heard anybody. So he's our... Yeah, Army quarterback in the last two games, I think he has averaging 148 and a half rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground for 40 fantasy points.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Obviously, he's not going to, you know, he's going to be touchdown dependent. But look, Army looks good. And if they're playing from, you know, if they're playing ahead in games, then they should, he should be able to put these points. It might be matchup dependent, but he's won. Another guy, we've talked about Madnasium. I probably should not keep bringing him up. But he's just not owned.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Is Tyler Huff from Jacksonville State? He was on by last week. he is at 10% ownership. So the kid, I think the last three weeks, is averaging 26.4 fantasy points per game, 26.4 fantasy points per game. And he keeps going up. And they're in the conference USA.
Starting point is 00:38:12 It's just a conference that you want to go after. Sam Houston State with Hunter Watson's the same thing. So easy matchups for those guys heading into conference play. So Tyler Huff's another guy. He's probably still out there and you can pick them up too. So those are the quarterbacks that we have. Let's go to running back here. We'll start with you, Froton.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Who's your favorite running back pickups this week? Well, this is a guy that I have in a couple of our dynasty leagues, and I'm really excited about this because my favorite, favorite Prince song ever. And I don't understand how the song wasn't the biggest dance hit of the 80s. No offense to Whitney Houston with, I want to dance with somebody. You know, the ladies love that one. But if I'm going with my dance hit of the 80s, it is Baby I'm a Star Thomas for Duke. In addition to the three consecutive hundred-yard games, if you listen, if you watch Purple Rain and you, just go right now, everybody, if you can tonight for Froton, just for Proton, I need you to listen to Baby I'm a Star by Prince.
Starting point is 00:39:20 All right, it's off Purple Rain. You can watch him perform it if you go over to YouTube and see the actual Baby I'm a Star performance from the movie. It blows away Morris Day from the time. He's pissed. He walks out of the bar. He's like, Maybe I'm sorry. He's right. So I've been dying to repurpose that. We have Star Thomas, and he's earned it.
Starting point is 00:39:38 He's earned the first ever Baby I'm a Star nickname that I've given out, which is just the absolute apex. If you listen that song, I understand the love I have for it. Three straight 100-yard games. It starts out with Yukon. People are like, is that for real? Middle Tennessee State, another little
Starting point is 00:39:54 cupcakes, 17 for 11, he gets two. All right. Jarkquez Moore is back this week. They're playing UNC. What's going to happen? Is Jarkwez going to take siphon touches? Oh, no, no. 30 carries for 166, catches two of two for 45 and a touch. Are you kidding me with Star Thomas? puts up a 33-point week against UNC, and I like to schedule these guys coming up. Going to be completely honest with you. You know, Georgia Tech this week, fine. I'm not afraid of Georgia Tech anymore. You got to buy, and then just a sputtering Florida State can't seem to do anything right. You get SMU, fine, okay, Miami, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:33 But then the stretch, NC State, helpless. Virginia Tech. I'm down to play that Virginia Tech defense right now. And then finally, the coup de grace, the worst defense in the ACC, Wake Forest. So, I mean, I'm here for that entire schedule. Moving on, Yeezy. Kanye Yuda has surpassed the former Kanye, over there on Appalachian State.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Now that Anderson Castle's in the sand is taking him over, there's only one easy. That's Kanye Udo. You want to talk about the Army team that we mentioned with Bryson Daley. Army, undefeated, Army ripping teams. Yep.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Left and rights on the ground. In fact, they have a wide receiver who, you know, I don't have my wide receiver list, but he's, well, here we are. He's a Wino. He's a wide out in the name only, and he's getting 66 yards he had the last game. We'll get to him when it comes to that section. But with Yeezy, 14 for 128, you know, I bet I played him the 50 team against Rice the week before.
Starting point is 00:41:39 But look, week one, Lehigh, 1575 and 2. Week two against a decent Florida Atlantic front, 1470 and 1. Goes 14, 128 and 1 last week against Temple. I mean, this Army team is rocking. I want a piece of him. And then lastly, dynasty-wise, especially Michael Ford, Stanford, is only 1% owned. He went and was pretty much the only thing they could do that even looked competent against Clemson, against Good Run. He had a couple of really nice runs if you watch that game.
Starting point is 00:42:12 I mean, he has to be picked up. I love that. Hey, before you give us your list, JD, I'm putting it on the spot here, having you answer this question. Has Nacquari Rogers taken over at New Mexico? Actually, about New Mexico because you've been writing about him. and our betting columns. And Froton, you can answer too if you want, but Nacquari Rogers, is he,
Starting point is 00:42:31 see the RB1 now there? Like, what's going on with that backfield? I still think there's going to be multiple guys getting carries. I don't think Eli Sanders is disappearing, and the quarterback still gets carries. So he's mildly intriguing, and he's pretty good player and he catches some passes, but I don't think it's going to be, like,
Starting point is 00:42:46 a huge percentage of the workload. Proton, you got to put on this. Yeah, he just sort of pop. I mean, he had three, five, two, six in terms of carries, and they play in Mexico State. It's a 50 to 40 game, and he rips 21 for 122 and 3. Yeah, it has to be monitored.
Starting point is 00:43:01 Anytime something like that happens for an offense that's looking like UNM right now, like he needs to be radared. But, you know, it's hard to just expect magic week and week out after that's sort of a game script that he took advantage of. Yeah, totally. Hey, we're going to take a quick break here
Starting point is 00:43:21 and we get back. We get J.D's running backs. All right. lady start us off give us your running backs for the week all right so obviously i knew we were going to be talking some ashton gentee so i had to go dig it into the stats to just see if the stats matched uh matched how impressive the i test was which i think are obviously uh overwhelming answer to was yes but anyway anytime you're in the same locale as as ashton gentie on certain metrics it makes you pay attention so i'm glad froton shouted out star thomas he four 16 mistackles this week
Starting point is 00:43:50 okay that's four more than anyone else baby he is a stunt are. Yeah. He really is, man. It's not just the volume. The volume's absurd, 69 carries in last three weeks. It's also the efficiency. He's running dudes over.
Starting point is 00:44:02 You've got to love it. Below him was Amad Hardy, a true freshman for Louisiana Monroe. Guy we haven't really mentioned a ton. He had, I believe, 27 carries, and the offense just really did nothing else. Bryant Vincent, we saw it with his offense last year. He just has a way of moving the ball, and generally it involves handing the ball a lot to a running back, who's going to be a workhorse, and that's a mod Hardy. So this guy, serious player.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Again, Josh mentioned it last week in the NIL and Transfer Portal era. Who knows if this guy will stick around. But I don't even know if you have to only look at Dynasty. I think he looks like a serious player come conference play. Other than that, I didn't want to shout out Jay Ducker. Again, he's taking over. Sam Houston State. They're moving the ball, man.
Starting point is 00:44:46 This guy had three touchdowns. And you could say, well, his efficiency wasn't great. But he had a Cam Scada Boo stat line, okay? because Tim Scataboo faced Texas State, I believe you average 2.5 yards per carry, if I remember correctly. And Ducker did that same thing. And again, this offense is moving,
Starting point is 00:45:01 and they're probably going to have some positive game scripts. And this is a guy who went for over 1,000 yards at Northern Illinois in kind of a similar style scheme. He went to Memphis. Some folks kind of forgot about him. And I don't know. I haven't, man. I think he's a really talented piece of a really good offense.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Yeah. You guys have any opinions on Manny Covey? As Shane Whitehead mentions that he went off. fact of the sense the injuries i saw that a lot of it was uh receiving work yeah i caught that i caught that pass that uh they scored and it was just i mean he was broken running down the side there was no one even near him that was just that was the straight dump and and go um but yeah injuries are what they are i anybody listen to this pod knows i love me some brend and sorsby uh once again he goes and clears his over drops a 350 burger on us you know a ladder
Starting point is 00:45:52 play and up down all around. He's just awesome. So I want to have whoever his backfield muses. Another question here. Should I unload my budget for Chris Johnson Jr.? CJ 2K nephew looks electric. So Chris Johnson from Miami, I think is who he's talking about. You guys have any opinions on whether Lamarcus peppermint should go after Chris Johnson?
Starting point is 00:46:18 I mean, sure. I mean, I'm talking on load your budget, budget, budget for Chris Johnson? I think he, you know, obviously you look good, but he's running back and Demi Martinez, there's still Fletcher there. He only got, you know, one carry. You look good, but I think you don't have to give the full budget on Chris Johnson. I think you could be strategic about your budget and targeting Chris Johnson. I think father well. He's still a little under, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:46:50 I think this is an argument among these two for their affection for Chris Johnson. So we'll let them fight this out in the chat. Oh, I appreciate that. Yeah. Hey, that's okay. And the Miami fan says, no. No. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:06 I was going to say, probably smart. I was going to say, let's rephrase the question. Should I unload my budget for a 180 pound true freshman who just had one carry and is behind two other underclassmen on his own team? I don't know. And Lyle, who is, uh,
Starting point is 00:47:20 probably the RB2 in this class. Yeah, Jordan Lyell is a pretty good running back. Oh, I don't know. Who's RB1? Oh, I mean, Kaden Durham is me right now. I think it's Kaden Durham. I think it's Kden Durham. Got him in the industry dynasty league and I got him in the 20 team CFB winning edge
Starting point is 00:47:38 league. So, Kate and Durham up for pro time. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah. No, you can't have him, Chris K. He tried to come and get him from you. No, you can't, Chris. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I mean, any kid that's running a. 10 300 meter 205 pounds doing that. He hits that cruising speed too. It's an easy cruising speed. He's just extending down that sideline. Oh, man. Yeah, it's on. And, you know, again, I'm not comparing him to Ashen Genty at this point,
Starting point is 00:48:08 but his frame is similar to Ashen Genties in a sense of, like, guys bounce off of him because it's a center of gravity so low and he's so powerful that they just can't get to get hit on I mean, you see with Ashton Jentie a lot, very similar to the South Carolina game where I would just, it would hit Caden Durham solid. And Caden Durham just like gets low and has a great balance. Slides off. Yeah. I mean, it's very similar running style. So not saying they're the same back.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Caden Durham is a, you know, a top target. If he's still available out there, he should not be in your league. But I do think he's like, what I think I had him at 26%. So if you're in some league, is he 28% right now? Yeah. That's a guy to unload your budget on. I'd be shocked two weeks in. Well, that won't happen after this.
Starting point is 00:48:57 He'll be gone. And Lamarcus Pepperman one more time, Breschart Smith. You realize he has wide receiver eligibility and something? Yeah. Oh, yeah. He does. It's wild.
Starting point is 00:49:07 I got him in the golden pig invitation. I'm wide receiver. I'm not sure why Justin allowed me to do that. But bless his sweetheart. Yep. He's a wino. Another whino. Yep.
Starting point is 00:49:17 You have a Tito's and the wine. Now the wide receivers in name only. There you go. Straight up. We just talked about two of them. There's no way. I just want to see the rhinos unleash now so we can have some running backs in name. The election's coming.
Starting point is 00:49:34 So we'll get the Republicans in name. Is that running backs in name? Okay, you're right. The winos. That's like a political term. So I want to stay away from that. There we go. There we go.
Starting point is 00:49:47 JD, man. He's not afraid. He's not afraid with the heart hitting facts. But politics is college fantasy football for life. That's where I'm at. Oh, man. That's fun. Sorry, sorry, I'm swearing.
Starting point is 00:49:59 But in politics, you're good. By the way, he has Bershard Smith and a C2C. Apparently allow him to be a whino. So. Gadsden, all right, first off, Elliot Mays, I know who you are. You're baking field. Stop lying to us. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Stop, I know your alias. Elliot May. Hey, local Austin guy. Be kind to him. Dude, we got to, well, well, we'll talk about that. If I come to Austin this year, which I am, then we got to hang out with Elliot. That being said, Gadsden is a jobber. Yeah, that's a, that's a, that this is what happens to people who cheat the system and draft petos.
Starting point is 00:50:37 That's what you get. You get a couple of stinkers. You get a two out of four. Two total stinkers, two good ones. Good. You all deserve it. You all deserve it. Um, okay.
Starting point is 00:50:48 I want to talk a little bit. about Isaac Brown from Louisville. I mean, this is a kid, Notre Dame this last week. We've been waiting for him to take over that backfield. And I think he might have this week. I mean, a 13 carries for 78 yards and then I had 95 yards total. And 19 and a half fantasy points caught a, I think four catches for 23 yards and a touchdown out of the back field.
Starting point is 00:51:08 I think Isaac Brown, he's clearly the most talented back. I mean, he's the guy that our boy, Jeff Brom has compared to Joward Jordan. And if you watch him run, I mean, not only does he have, I believe, the same. same number, but he also, he does look like him and he's explosive. And he's the type of guy that our boy Brom loves the scheme up touches for. And he only had 19 and a half fantasy points, which is a lot. But on the waiver wire, he's probably not going to stick out. And I think he's only at 9% ownership. So I don't think he's going to cost you a lot this week. I don't know if other people are on them or not.
Starting point is 00:51:46 But Isaac Brown is a guy that I would absolutely target if you have a running back need and you can't get star Thomas this week. He's a guy to go after. Frotan, you got opinions on Isaac Brown? Yeah, I mean, it's a backfield. We had no idea what's going to happen coming out. Totally unsettled. Cheney, Maurice Turner, Isaac Brown, you know, all of that.
Starting point is 00:52:05 And it's clear that when I'm watching those games and I'm looking to see who's got the juice, Isaac Brown's got the juice. And he's young. and he has a chance to really grow into the role of his a lot to like. Yeah. I just want to say I'm the Isaac Brown guy. So I own, I'm in Seven Dynasty Leagues. I own them in four of them.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Josh has him and two of the other ones. So we're the Isaac Brown crew. Yeah, the backfield was wide open. And like, I knew he had the juice. And you hear the way they talk about him. I'm like, you know he's electric. But the thing about these freshmen that you sometimes don't really know is when they're in a real game environment, like how are their instincts, how do they look,
Starting point is 00:52:38 what did they look going through contact? And that was the thing in Notre Dame that along with, with Brahms trust in him, which I think was the most important part, like him trusting him in that spot in a close game with the receiving work on the ground. But his instinct really impressed me. He couldn't impress me anymore. He made that great touchdown grab. So he's got good receiving instincts. It just is running. The way he was like not taking tackles in head on, he was finding his way to the arms going through him. I mean, he's more than just a burner. So Isaac Brown is absolutely the jip. Yeah. And he was the RB one throughout that game from the beginning to the end. He was the guy 17 touches for
Starting point is 00:53:09 him. The rest of the backfield had 17 combined touches. So it just goes to show you where he's at there. And I wasn't sure either when they were playing a Cupcake schedule, they didn't play him a lot. I mean, he had some big weeks. But as soon as they hit their best opponent, he starts playing. And then Conn Lacey obviously comes back this week too. Obviously, they didn't win that game. But that offense, I think, is actually set up to look pretty good down the stretch as long as a guy that cordact named Tyler and our boy La Marcus Pepperman wants to know Froton. How do we pronounce his last name? First off, God, I'm glad somebody brought up Louisville because my Saturday morning co-host,
Starting point is 00:53:51 Thor said Louisville like five times and my ears were bleeding. I wanted to flip out and be like, dude, somebody is going to hear this and be irate about your pronunciation. It's Louisville, obviously, I know that. So Marcus, nothing but respect, Marcus, thank you very much. I appreciate that. And Chuck, it's like shucking corn. Tyler Shuck is what I'm led to believe.
Starting point is 00:54:16 No, it 100% is. People have been this pronouncing it for like three years. He's been starting for like six years and people still don't know to say his name. It's for sure. It's like this has been Shuck for a long time. Yeah, it's, I was like, I think pronouncing it differently all of a sudden. I didn't know. Like, did he, he changed his gimmick like in wrestling, like the nasty boys?
Starting point is 00:54:33 You know, like Brian Knobbs is his biggest fan right here? I don't know. But yeah, it is, it is shuck. as in corn, as in jive. Proton, we got, we have French Canadian references. Oh, we have corn references. You, the diversity in my man, Proton is absolutely incredible. I love it.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Hey, one more running back. You got to get through our guys here. Yeah, one more running back here. A lot of Tom Fulery. Yeah. We talked about Louisiana earlier. And Elijah Davis, if they ever give him the full load there, that kid is freaking amazing.
Starting point is 00:55:07 I mean, his yards per carry are absolutely incredible. Advanced metrics level. He just needs the carries. So Elijah Davis, he's the one to put, he's in kind of the best of the rest category, put him on your radar. And C.J. Campbell from FAU, we've kind of talked about Zubari Mobley. C.J. Campbell's been right there averaging about 21 fantasy points per game in the last couple weeks. So somebody to monitor as well, I wouldn't necessarily go pick those guys up. But deep bench, they might be worth stashing.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Let's move on to wide receivers. There's some good ones to talk about this week. So we'll probably close the episode out. We'll do wide receivers and tight ends together. We got about maybe 10, 15 minutes left in this episode. So, J.D., why don't you start off this time? Give us your top wide receivers this week. So we have to start with the star of the Big Ten road trip.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Proton knows who I'm talking about. Jacoby Lane. I mean, I don't know what he looked like on TV, but in person and Proton said exactly what I'm thinking. Like you can just kind of feel when they need to go somewhere, you know it's Jacoby. And you know if that ball's going up, he's coming down with it. He absolutely is outclassing.
Starting point is 00:56:19 He's outclassing people. I remember hearing, you know, who's going to be the wide receiver one for USC? It's like, I mean, I don't really care. It hasn't been relevant in a while. So I didn't really have many horses in the races. But I remember, like, they asked Miller Moss and he said, oh, Mackay Lemon. And then the beat riders were like, really? He said, Mackay Lemon?
Starting point is 00:56:34 Why did he say that? and they're like he's probably just trying to keep Jacoby the best kept secret that should not be a secret. And just the way hearing that, seeing him be trusted, seeing Moss go to him repeatedly, repeatedly in the red zone. Jacobi Lane is an absolute monster. So we have to go with Jacoby Lane. Other than that, I got some deep cuts. So I probably won't step on anyone's toes. But I'm going to run through some deep cuts here.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Matt Sykes for Rice. He's a UCLA transfer. He has 25 targets in his last two games, former four-star recruit. So big fish, small pond. It looks like E.J. Warner. we know he likes to go to his guys and go to him over and over and over and rice stinks. Raylin Sharp, kind of a deep cut. He had 16 targets against UNLV, 10 receptions for 116 yards.
Starting point is 00:57:15 17, or he has 17 plus fantasy points games, I believe, in three straight. They've been going to him, and I know in the slot, because last year was right, they have Eric Brooks and they had Jalen Gill. And this year, it's like, well, they're probably going to do the same thing with these two FCS transfers. Chad Don James from, I believe, was Idaho State. and then you have Raylan Sharp from Missouri State. But Sharp has just kind of clearly taken that over. He's kind of been the alpha. He now leads the team in targets.
Starting point is 00:57:41 I know they did be up targets there at Fresno. It's really annoying to try to tell who's going to pop off. But for sure, Raylan Sharp needs to be on your radar after that performance. And I do think he kind of, he fits the skill set. Like the slot we've seen has kind of been where Mikey Keene really likes going to over and over. Other than that, Jacoby Jones. I believe it's Jacoby Keeney Jones. But on fan tracks, he's Jacoby.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Or is it James? I don't know. James Jones. For UMass, he has 20 fantasy points in three of his last four games. So UMass is 22nd in passing explosive. And he says, how can this be possible? They don't really throw the ball. You know why?
Starting point is 00:58:14 It's all because of this fellow right here. He's got a 17.2 average depth of target. He's beating teams repeatedly. He's clearly their guy. He has more than double the ardage of anyone else on that team. He's the only player with multiple receiving TDs. He looks like a target hog going forward. And then two more decuts before I'm out of here.
Starting point is 00:58:31 They're both for Florida International. We know this scheme, right? Proton keeps mentioning Jenkins as the quarterback. It's just, it's underrated. You can fill a lineup with it. They got two guys. It looks like their main guy, Eric Rivers, the NC State Transfer. He has 15 fantasy points in three strike games, 20 targets in his last two games.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Looks like the probable wide receiver won, but you're also getting some solid volume with Dean Patterson, a guy who's just not owned anywhere, and he's had seven or more targets than four of his last five games. So these are some guys who are free out there, an offense that's moving the ball and are going to be in some fantasy-friendly. Yeah, that's good. Proton, what's got? Well, let's start with Clemson. Man, Presbyman receiver, 24% owned, but he just, you know, he's going from dynasty asset to, I mean, redraft. The way Clemson's scoring points, 40 against Stanford, 59 against East State, 66 against Appie.
Starting point is 00:59:21 It's like, all right, well, I guess they're back. And if they are, well, Brian Westcoe. T.J. Moore, five star, Brian Westgo, you know, went and the speed is palpable. You saw him take the top off of the spring game, but against Appie, three out of three, 1.30 and a touch. And then this last week, got seven targets.
Starting point is 00:59:42 He only caught two of them. But he caught, they went for 104 yards and a touchdown. And he showed off his speed to where he's going to grow into that role. And at a 24% ownership rate, I don't know, you know, that's 75% of the leagues out there. I'm willing to bet in,
Starting point is 01:00:01 if you're in a league that has an exception. extended roster, you could find a place for Bryant Westco. Another freshman, and this is more of kind of a dynasty, more of a look, but this guy only 6% owned and a freshman, and it looks like he has a pretty good rapport with Dylan Raola, Jacori Barney, and he's not doing it deep, you know, he's, but he's getting consistent targets, six for six for 29 yards, but he's getting carries, two carries, 28 yards, right? Northern Iowa does the same thing. Last week against Purdue, two out of three catches for 28 yards, but four carries, 66 yards and a touchdown. I guess Northern Iowa, a carry,
Starting point is 01:00:46 10 yards and a touchdown. He's being used in multiple facets of the game. We're seeing at Nebraska coming up. He's a true freshman. I think it's certainly possible. You see Jacori Barney continue to get better and better as the season goes on, maybe next year hits. And he's a guy, who is maybe a top 50-ish type receiver, depending on how effective that Cohenhusker offense. You know, kind of a speculation pick, but I like him. I also have Raylan Sharp in my list as Jay and I'll hold off until the tight ends, let Josh go.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Yeah, for me, at the top of my list is Jaden Williams from Texas State. He's a kid that, or the last couple weeks has 18 targets, 14 receptions, 200 yards and two touchdowns, 23.4 fantasy points. per game over that stretch. So, and he's really taken over as the top outside wide receiver there. Obviously, have Joey Hober or Abert in the, uh, in the slot. But on the outside, we thought it was going to be Cole Wilson. It appears that it's actually Jaden Williams.
Starting point is 01:01:46 And, uh, this going into conference play is an offense that you want to target. They're going to put up points. They're going to shoot out this last week with Sam Houston State, which could be a good offense, but, you know, they're also like, you know, there's going to be a lot of teams that are going to put up points against Texas State. So lots of shootouts. Jaden Williams is a guy that you want a piece of this offense as the wide receiver two, potentially in wide receiver one some weeks.
Starting point is 01:02:12 And then Skyler Bell from Yukon. He means a guy that's put up some good points in. Yeah. Yep. Yep. And we've talked about him before. I mean, look, this kid has like 21 catches for 500 yards on the year, which is just insane.
Starting point is 01:02:26 So he's a deep threat. And then I think that's pretty much all I got. Jackson Meeks has wanted to monitor after he just had a ton of targets this last week. I don't really know what that was. I need to see more just to see what's going on. Same thing with Josh Cameron. Shane White, Shane mentioned him in the chat.
Starting point is 01:02:47 I got to see more of that and if, you know, what's going on there before. Josh Cameron has just been such a jack throughout his career. They're at Baylor that I just can't get on, get on that train. right now. Tight ends though for a time. Why don't you give us if you have any tight ins that you have for us to target? Yeah. If Dorian Fleming is considered a tight end in
Starting point is 01:03:10 your league, congratulations. He's 14% owned. Go and pick him up now. Sometimes he, you know, I believe he is kind of a little bit of both two catches, 58 yards and a touch, six for 49, 4th, 28, 4.68 and a touch. I mean, that's a, that's an easy pickup, Dorian Fleming for at Georgia State, go get him. Matt Louder, Boise State. Honestly, I can't believe he's 6% owned. He went and dominated last week against Portland State. He got seven catches out of nine targets for 91 yards and a touch.
Starting point is 01:03:48 It's like, all right, well, it's Portland State. They threw the ball more against Portland State because they didn't want to use Gentry too much. So that was where they kind of were exploring a little bit. Clearly they saw a louder and liked him because he got four. four targets, caught all of them for 96 yards and two touchdowns against Wazoo. It's becoming clear that if this Boise State team, you know, wants to score, they're putting up 40 plus a game.
Starting point is 01:04:14 They're doing it. Is Jetsy going to do a lot? Yeah, sure. But they're scoring 40 plus a game at a 6% ownership rate. If you need a tight end, it could do a lot worse. Yep. J.D., you got anything to add? Not a lot interesting, but if you need a deep cut, this fella on Akron named Jake Newell has
Starting point is 01:04:31 16 targets in his last two games and he's in Arizona State transfer. So always looking for those transfer downs that maybe kind of didn't really notice in the off season or didn't stand out. And if you're earning a solid target share and your transfer down shows me you might be big fish small. Yeah. One last one for me is Taylor Thompson from JMU. He had a big week this week.
Starting point is 01:04:52 You know, played him in the 50 teamer against C Jackson. I think he had 21 points. And my tight in put up a stinker. honestly, it was one of the keys to the matchup this week was Taylor Thompson going off. Don't know if he'll do that on a weekend, weekout basis, but anytime that a tight-in puts up back-to-back weeks where they're, you know, I think he had like 10 points against North Carolina and then 21 this last week. This offense is the first offense in several years to put up 63 points or more in back-to-back weeks. We don't know what's going to happen, but to have pieces and shares of that passing game, you could do worse if you're, looking for tight-in help.
Starting point is 01:05:32 So, but Matt Louder. I mean, I think he's clearly a top pick up this week if you need tight-in help. Because Matton's not relying on a lot of dudes out there, and a lot of them are hurt on top of that. And so he's looking at loud. It's louder and gentie. And then whatever backup running back is healthy that week at this point. Seems like for that Boise State offense.
Starting point is 01:05:54 So, well, there we go. I think we covered, we covered the waiver barred pretty well this week. A little tomfoolery too A little bit of tangents You know got to the questions I think we got around Yeah for sure One last question here
Starting point is 01:06:09 We'll end up to this question But Keon Burnett Anybody enticed by our boy From Arizona I just watched that game Against Utah with Arizona I mean you know They were kind of
Starting point is 01:06:21 Licking in the early going But man you did It's nice to see how they Ran the ball against Utah My gosh Riescano and I always thought it was Riescanao and it's Ryskeno and Quali Kahnle, both of them, you know, were able to rip some pretty big runs that you just didn't see happen against Utah very often. So, you know, nothing but good things.
Starting point is 01:06:44 And then obviously, Keon Burn had a huge touchdown catch, you know, downfield too. Always had talent. You heard so much about him last year, but there was McLaughlin there. Yeah. There's no. Keon Burrink could certainly pop heading into contract. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it's good to see, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:04 I know we're not talking about tight ends right now, but Ryskinow to see him actually hit after, you know, being promising early in it, thought he was going to be really good early in his career and just couldn't get on the field at Ole Miss. It's good to see him, you know, there and I'm doing well. Okay, one last question here. Sell high on Hunter or can he keep up without breaking down?
Starting point is 01:07:26 Is it time to sell on Travis? Are we riding them out for the rest of the season? He made eight and a half games last year. I think he got hurt in game nine last season. So you probably still have a couple more weeks. But if a trade deadline's coming, I don't know. Maybe he does. He has once, but man, when he's out there, I don't understand it.
Starting point is 01:07:42 It's hard to trade a guy who's getting that much guaranteed volume. But you know he's getting it. Dion's adopted kid. He's getting targets, you know. So I'm not, I'm not worried about Hunter. I have a hard. I had a hard time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:57 Yonke, you got a thought on this? Yeah, there's no reason to expect him to slow down some beautiful matchups. He does still have two bye weeks, but I don't know. If you're hoping a player gets hurt, then, I mean, could be any player. All right. This is the best question in the night. So I guess we've got to do one more. That's not it.
Starting point is 01:08:14 Is Cam McCormick a good stash tied in for a few years down the road? The ninth year tied in from Miami that caught a touchdown pass in this last game. I mean, look, this guy's been absolutely wide open against both Florida and Virginia Tech because the kid, you know, he should be selling insurance or something at this point. He's some playing college football at 27. He'll be, you know, maybe we'll join us on the CFF All Access show next year as one of our co-hosts. Who knows? I was listening to this game.
Starting point is 01:08:44 He'd be thrilled to join, I'm sure. Yeah. I was listening to this game because obviously we're traveling around Saturday and I'm trying to see who he throws a touchdown to. and like Cam Ward and he finds college football's Methuselah. I'm like, who? And like, yeah, McCormick in his ninth year. I'm like, oh, great. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:03 It's like that doesn't help out anybody right now. So, well, man. Now we're just throwing random Miami guys in just to throw in random Miami guys. Hey, I thought that was a funny comment. Lamarcus peppermint from Coral Gable. So he had to throw in out there for the local team. The Marcus incense and peppermint. Yes.
