Starting point is 00:00:00 Week 5, fantasy football, top 10 takeaways, instant reaction and the injury news you need to know right here on fantasy points. Let's get it. What's going on? Theo Greminger, Fantasy Football Daily right here on fantasy points. Really, really fun week. This was a fun week. And this was one of those weeks where if you had Malik neighbors, if you had Tyree Kill, it's sort of like rolling with the punches. You're like, okay, here we go.
Starting point is 00:00:34 First week without my guys. and we had some really, really, really exciting football. And this was exciting football all week long. Really starting Thursday night, we've been on a really, really strong run. I'm recording this right before Sunday night football. And this was, again, a super, super fun week, a lot of fantasy friendly stuff and some great takeaways here. If you've been grinding the waiver wire, the last couple of, like pretty much the entire
Starting point is 00:01:01 season, you've had a bunch of big hits right now. You know, we saw guys that you were picking up last week. It was Kenneth Gainwell. This week we saw Rico Dattle. We're going to talk about him. He was a waiver wire pickup in a lot of leagues early in the season. Michael Carter in some leagues, people were able to even get Rashad White and some shallow leagues.
Starting point is 00:01:20 So backup running backs were hitting. We love to see that because that sort of pushes us to move forward to keep grinding, to keep putting that work in on the waiver wire each and every week. But we got to start talking about Christian McCaffrey. And we could talk about Christian McCaffrey at the beginning of every single one of these shows. But what's going on with Christian McCaffrey is just unbelievable. And what's even crazier is he's not completely running away with the RB1 overall right now because of the quality of play of Jonathan Taylor. But Christian McCaffrey is on this ridiculous, ridiculous run right now.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. San Francisco wins against the L.A. Rams with Mac Jones behind center. Unbelievable game against the L.A. Rams in a game where a lot of people sort of left San Francisco for dead in this one because of all the missing players. Ricky Purse all out, Juan Jennings out. Guys step up for San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan, an absolute master class in this one. Kendrick Bourne will be a waiver wire ad for a lot of people this week, 142 receiving yards. But we got to talk about Christian McCaffrey because what McCaffrey is doing is absolutely wild. This is a vintage season for McCaffrey.
Starting point is 00:02:41 McCaffrey is fully back as a pass catcher. And he's doing it in crazy ways. Scores a 27.9 point outburst this week on Thursday evening. So if you had Christian McCaffrey, you walked around feeling like an absolute beast. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning, knowing you had this huge cushion going into the games. But McCaffrey with eight catches for 82 yards, simply ridiculous. Every single game this year, McCaffrey's had at least six receptions. This is ridiculous, ridiculous numbers for pretty much anybody. For a wide receiver, this would be incredible numbers. But for a running back,
Starting point is 00:03:21 it's unheard of right now. McCaffrey is set to challenge for the reception total record in NFL history by a running back, breaking his own record. There's only been a few instances where running backs get 100 receptions in a season. That's rare. You're talking about guys like Christian McCaffrey. You're talking about guys like Austin Echler. And Christian McCaffrey is set to obliterate that number this year. Right now, McCaffrey is on pace for 139 catches.
Starting point is 00:03:55 ridiculous, ridiculous numbers. He also adds 22 carries for 57 yards. Really the only challenge for Christian McCaffrey is going to be him being able to sustain this sort of volume. He's got a couple of years now on guys like Jonathan Taylor, a lot of years on guys like Bejohn Robinson. So Christian McCaffrey, can he sustain that sort of unbelievable volume? He's incredibly healthy right now, looks insanely durable. But 30 touches is sort of the only thing that I want to. like point out, I'm not that comfortable with him having 30 touches. I love it for my fantasy
Starting point is 00:04:29 teams, but you're talking about the touch volume is absolutely nuts. 31 touches in week one, 30 touches in week five. In week two, 19 touches. Okay, little scaled back there. Week three, 27 touches, week four, 23 touches. So McCaffrey, that's really the only thing I want to point out with McCaffrey. But other than that, McCaffrey is simply rolling. If you draft a Christian McCaffrey, you have a great chance to win your fantasy league. Most fun game of the week, though, was not the Rams 49ers. That was a fun one. The most fun game of the week was the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This one felt like an NFC playoff game. And Tampa Bay wins the game 3835. If you're a Seattle fan, you're feeling really, really good about a number of things
Starting point is 00:05:20 with your team. Sam Darnold with four touchdown passes, he'll be on a lot of people's weight. waiver wire radars. But really the story was over the last few years, it's sort of been LSU as wide receiver you. This is the, you know, the Jamar Chase. You're talking about BTJ. You're talking about Justin Jefferson. You're talking about all these LSU wide receivers just simply crushing it last year. Malik neighbors crushing it last year. Heading into the season, I did a top 100 in at fantasy points.com. And I had all of these LSU receivers in like my top. 12 overall. Well, Ohio State is starting to challenge them a little bit this year because we had a couple of years where things were a little bit disappointing when it came to Ohio State
Starting point is 00:06:06 receivers hitting in a major way. Now last year, of course, you had JSN and Terry McLaren both sort of mid to low end wide receiver ones, but now you've got a Mecca Egbuka. Now you've got Jackson Smith and Jigba. And these two players went up against one another in a ridiculous, one on like sort of a one-on-one matchup for fantasy managers where the two former Ohio State teammates go head to head and a mecca-a-buka comes out on top. Egbuka is simply ridiculous. Egbuka has seven catches in this one. 163 receiving yards. So ridiculous numbers from him.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Both are season highs, seven catches, 163 receiving yards, five touchdown grabs on the season. According to my math, that's being on pace for 17 touchdown catches this year. Unbelievable stuff right there. This is really, really impressive stuff from Emeka, Igbuka. You've also got JSN, who was really, really impressive. We'll talk about him in a minute. But when it comes to Igbuka, we're talking about a player who is going to challenge for, at this point, one of the best rookie seasons ever by a receiver.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And we saw it last year where it was Bowers and neighbors, you know, breaking what Puka Nakua did. Over the last few years, we've seen guys like Jefferson. We've seen guys like Chase just out to ridiculous starts as rookies. But right now, Ameca Agbuka is third all time in fantasy points through his first five games played. Think about that. Third all time in fantasy points in his first five games played as a rookie behind only Randy Moss and Pooka Nakuwa. So actually scratch that.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Behind Randy Moss and Pukua, this is all-time record, not just for rookies. So Egbuka is unbelievable right now. Tampa Bay stole one in the NFL draft. And fantasy managers, you really stole one. Because Egbuka right now looks like a locked-in mid-level wide receiver one for the rest of the season. And you were drafting him at a really, really solid place in your draft. Talking about JSN, though.
Starting point is 00:08:17 JSN also a huge, huge stat line this week. You got to feel great about JSN. Eight catches, 132 yards, and a touchdown. Season high, 27 points. JSN has a 53-yard reception. Nine targets, ridiculous. Egbuka tops them, though. 57-yard reception for Egbuka.
Starting point is 00:08:38 So Ohio State, big shout-out. Ohio State, one of the best teams in the nation right now in college football. And the Ohio State Buckeyes have a lot of bragging rights when it comes to fantasy football wide receivers right now. Both those guys looking really, really good. Talking about a little bit of a, we'll pivot back over to LSU, because this was the Jamar Chase sigh of relief game,
Starting point is 00:09:00 and this was the garbage time Jake Browning that can sort of save fantasy managers here. So nothing is going to be easy for us with the Cincinnati Bengals. This is not Joe Burrow. This is not 2024. But if you drafted Jamar Chase, you are certainly, certainly not dead in the water. Jamar Chase last week, really, really a tough one.
Starting point is 00:09:22 This week, a big, big bounceback game for him. Six catches for 110 yards and two touchdown grabs. So Chase ends up giving you a huge week two, now a huge week five, and then three other games complete clunkers. But I think that this was a sign of good things to come because we saw what they could do in garbage time. This was a game where Detroit goes up 28 to 3, but Cincinnati scores 21 points in the fourth quarter. Jake Browning, three touchdown passes, also three interceptions.
Starting point is 00:09:55 That's sort of what we're going to get from Browning. He is not playing that well, but he's got the gunslinger mentality, force-feeding things to Jamar Chase. So a big sigh of relief game for Jamar Chase. Things are not good in Cincinnati right now. Really, really rough stuff. But when it comes to Chase, I think that this one could get him going. Week six is a tough one against the Green Bay Packers on the road. But then coming back, Chase is going to have three straight weeks at home.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Pittsburgh, the Jets, and the Chicago Bears. So if we can get by week six and put up a decent stat line, Jamar Chase will get three straight home games. Pittsburgh, the Jets, and the Chicago Bears. None of those defenses really should frighten you at all. In fact, you should be getting excited about those ones. We've seen what defense were able to do. We saw it in New York today, struggle against Dallas, get a number put on them.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Pittsburgh, there seemed to be kind of Jekyll and Hyde this year defensively. We've seen some really good stuff. We've seen some not so good stuff. That game will be tilting. So Jemar Chase managers breathe a little bit of sigh of relief. You get your two touchdown grabs. Talk about year of the rookie running back. We've been talking about it every single week here.
Starting point is 00:11:07 But today, the Jacori-Kroski-Mert, big breakout game. And anybody who followed my podcast this summer, the podcast I did with Scott Barrett, we had you drafting J. Corey Kroski Merritt in the fourth and fifth round of your dynasty rookie drafts. And Jacori Kroski Merritt was a smash pick in the 18th round of best ball drafts. And in redraft. Corey Krosky Merritt, of course, steamed up during the summer. It feels like this is the breakout game for JCP. And I know a lot of people watching this are going to say, yo, Theo.
Starting point is 00:11:38 You also said it was the breakout game for Woody Marks last week. Well, Jacori Crosky Merritt doesn't have a Nick Chub to deal with. And I know Nick Chub is not Nick Chub what he was years ago, but it's still Nick Chub. It's still a veteran deference guy, a guy who is going to command touches, a guy who's not going to go away. Now, when it comes to Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez, those guys can go away. Those guys haven't been here at all throughout their career. So, Jacourke-Crossky Merit, what happened this week? Jaden Daniels comes back and they go with Jacori-Crossky Merritt.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I think that's not necessarily a coincidence. I think that's something that is happening together. I think that this is the plan for Washington. And what happens? Washington gets a really big win against the L.A. Chargers in L.A. So this was a big one for Washington. Last year, Washington was Road Warriors.
Starting point is 00:12:28 They won a bunch of really strong road games. They win a strong road game this week. And Jacori Kraski Merit, 14 carries 111 yards, and two rushing scores. and most importantly, well, not most importantly, because we love seeing the 111 yards and two touchdowns. Don't get me wrong. But he also has two catches for 39 yards receiving. So JCP, 39 receiving yards. That's something we can sort of hang our hat on.
Starting point is 00:12:54 I think he's got that in his bag. And I think we could see that every single week. Only seven touches for Jeremy McNichols and Christian Rodriguez combined. And what's even more impressive is JCP had a fumble and then got put right back in there. We heard Dan Quinn this week. We've heard Cliff Kingsbury all talking about things like a three-man competition. We're going to go with a hot hand. I think that's over. I think Jacori-Crossi Merritt moving forward is a boom-bust RB2 with spike week ability. And when you're playing next to Jaden Daniels, you will get some spike weeks because Jaden Daniels is a little bit banged up right now,
Starting point is 00:13:31 but it's still the threat that he puts on opposing defenses with his legs, opens things up for a running back like J.C.M with explosive big playability. So JCP, you put him on that running back two line. Washington in a really, really good spot right now. I think Washington could really get things together. We'll mention Debo Samuel also had a really good game this week. Debo's been on a impressive, impressive run. Really an impressive year when it comes to traded wide receivers. Debo Samuel shining for Washington. George Pickens shining for Dallas. And we have a trend here where you've had a traded wide receiver, finished as a wide receiver won for several years in a row.
Starting point is 00:14:14 We saw it last year with Jerry Judy, year before with DJ Moore, and then sort of a murderer's row of big time, big time players for the many years before, talking about names like A.J. Brown, those sort of big names. But Jerry, Judy, DJ Moore give hope for a player like a Debo, certainly a player like a George Pickens.
Starting point is 00:14:32 When a player gets on a new situation, things can turn around really, really well. And when it comes to Debo Samuel, really impressive stuff, a season high, 96 receiving yards. He has three touchdown grabs this year and a rushing score, four touchdowns on the year for Debo Samuel. And back-to-back weeks where he scored 20 points or more. Debo has three weeks this season where he scored 20 points or more. Really, really some great stuff when it comes to Debo Samuel. We love, love to see that.
Starting point is 00:15:01 And if you have Debo Samuel bags, that's another player that you were drafted. pretty late. You're getting great return on your investment, ADP-wise. Talking about Chikori Kroski Merritt, and it's been such a great year for rookie running backs. We are holding our breath now. I'm recording this on Sunday evening. We got to know what's going on with Omari and Hampton, hoping to get a big news dump when it comes to Monday. But Omari and Hampton exited the game. It's an ankle injury. These could be nuanced. Again, I'm recording this before Sunday night football. I wish I had a ton of information for you. Check back on all of our shows on Fantasy Points, Fantasy Points YouTube.
Starting point is 00:15:39 We will talk about the injury fallout for Omari and Hampton and see what's going on there. But that was definitely the biggest injury of the week, the one that we are circling. Hampton's been playing really, really well. He's such an integral piece to the LA Chargers offense that this would be a significant blow. L.A. is already dealing with offensive line injuries. They've already lost Najee Harris for the year. Losing Hampton would be huge. and it's a huge drop-off between Hampton
Starting point is 00:16:05 and the running backs that would replace them. Talking about Kamani Vidal, you're talking about Hassan Haskins. This might be a little bit of a conversation like we saw with Michael Carter versus Amari Demercato where, and of course Michael Carter was the correct answer to that one. But when it comes to Vidal and Haskins,
Starting point is 00:16:22 this might be a split. This might be a mess. I don't know how to unpack this one. Initial lean, I'll kind of talk about it and make sure you're tuned back here when we drop the Waver Wire show early Tuesday morning right here on Fantasy Points YouTube and on Fantasy Football Daily podcast. And if you're watching this on YouTube, do me a favor and go and subscribe to Fantasy Football
Starting point is 00:16:44 Daily podcast. It doesn't cost you anything. Helps us out a lot. And on the flip side, if you're listening to this as a podcast, make sure you subscribe to Fantasy Points YouTube. We are the fastest growing YouTube channel anywhere in Fantasy Football for a reason. We're putting out videos that can help you win in Fantasy Sports. every single day of the week. O'Marion Hampton won. That's a depressing one to talk about this week.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Not quite as bad as last week where we had like multiple depressing talks like about Malik neighbors, Tyree Kill, but Hampton would be a massive one if he is out. Rock Bowers, of course, misses this week. We're going to keep an eye on that one. How many weeks they hold him out. I personally am hoping Vegas, which is sort of a train wreck right now, just keeps Bowers out for a little bit, lets him get healthy. We would hate to do anything long-term to Brock Bowers on what is looking like a not very good offense and a very inconsistent offense in Vegas. We talked about Kenneth Gainwell last week. Let's talk about Rico Douddle this week. Gainwell, of course, on a buy. Coming back next week, we'll see where that usage goes. But Gainwell was fantastic in week four. Now we get RICO
Starting point is 00:17:51 Dowdell, who was even better in week five. And when it comes to Dowdell, we saw Dowdell handle a ton of volume in 24. RICO Dowdell was very, very impressive in 2024, had a number of 20 plus touch weeks in Dallas and Dowdell ends up having really his career year. It didn't matriculate into a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. You have to think that somewhere in the multiverse, Rico Dowdle was re-signed. Dallas didn't bring back Giovante Williams and Dowdell is just shining in Dallas this year. but Dowdell last season had 1,079 rushing yards. He also had 235 rush attempts, very impressive volume numbers when it came to Rico Dowdell. Well, Rico Dowdle just had the best game of his entire career.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Chuba Hubbard out. Rico Dowdell fills in. Ridiculous numbers put up. 23 carries, 206 rushing yards, and he adds three catches for 28 receiving yards. Dowdell is a volume king who can handle this sort of volume. What else is important about this? Carolina won the game. Chuba Hubbard was fantastic last year.
Starting point is 00:19:06 I talked about him at length on all my podcast. Chuba Hubbard was paid a big contract by Carolina. But how can you put this back in the bag after seeing this from Rico Dowell? I think at the very least, this is going to turn into a split backfield. And there's a chance that Rico Dowell may have flipped the script. here and he may have Wally Pipped Chuba Hubbard. Now, I really like Chuba Hubbard. Again, Chuba Hubbard was a win for us last year. We talked about him sort of on the rise. He ended up having a really big season. But if you think about Dave Canales, Dave Canales, Dave Canales doesn't care.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Dave Canales is a guy who has, will go with the better option. We've seen this a million times. Dave Canales was willing to bench Bryce Young for Andy Dalton. Dave Canales was willing to bench big free agent signing Miles Sanders for Chuba Hubbard. Why won't Dave Canales be willing to go with the hot hand running back RICO Doudal, at least in like a 60-40? I think at the very least, this might be a 50-50 when Hubbard comes back. Now, Chuba Hubbard could definitely win this one back. I could be wrong on this one.
Starting point is 00:20:10 But I think anybody willing to say Rico Duttle was a one-week thing, didn't watch the game. Dowdell looked really, really good. This was not Dowdell just getting lucky somehow. You can't luck your way into 200 rushing yards. So keep an eye on the Rico Dattle Chuba Hubbard situation. This might be Rico Dattel's backfield. The Dallas Cowboys are rolling and Dak Prescott is rolling.
Starting point is 00:20:33 But the big takeaway here is Jake Ferguson is a legit tight end one overall challenger. Jake Ferguson is on pace for 163 targets this year. He has 48 targets through five weeks played. This is one of the most targeted players in football right now, and he's playing the tight end position. he's basically getting Trey McBride usage, but for Dallas right now. And I realize C.D. Lamb is out. But the tight end position right now is not what we thought it would be.
Starting point is 00:21:04 George Kittle is still on the injured reserve. We find out George Kittle will not be back until maybe week seven. Brock Bowers, of course, banged up. And then you've got Trey McBride, who very disappointing today, Trey McBride, five catches for 41 yards, fewer than 10 PPR points. not what we signed up for when it came to Tray McBride. Now, Jake Ferguson, on the other hand, nine targets. And again, doesn't put up huge yardage numbers, but the target volume is excessively good,
Starting point is 00:21:35 seven catches for 49 yards and two touchdown grabs. Now put that into a little bit of context with what Ferguson's been able to do this season, and it's wild. Jake Ferguson had that 13 catch game in week three. He has a nine catch game in week two and now back to back seven catch games. Target-wise, he hasn't had fewer than six targets in any single week. And we've seen this unbelievable scoring run with CD-Lam out. Now, when CD-Lam comes back, Dallas is still going to be incredibly pass-happy and maybe even more pass-happy.
Starting point is 00:22:12 This is sort of the M-O of what Dallas is. Dallas scores 40 points against Green Bay. They lose that game against Chicago, and they score 37 points against the Jets today. Dak Prescott has seven touchdown passes over the last two weeks played. George Pickens continues to find the end zone. This Dallas team is really, really fun offensively. I think that we need to keep an eye on Jake Ferguson as a dark horse to finish as the tight end one overall right now. And if you have Dak Prescott, you love the way this team is going.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Dallas can't stop anyone and they score a lot. That's fantasy gold for us. The game flow for Dallas is beautiful when it comes to fantasy football. Now we talked about Christian McCaffrey and Christian McCaffrey is this year's version of, you know, pick your favorite Christian McCaffrey season. Christian McCaffrey is just on a whole other planet when it comes to usage. But he's in a horse race right now with Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor and Christian McCaffrey are both averaging more than 24 PPR points at the running back position.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Ridiculous, ridiculous numbers. And it's a real challenge because Indianapolis is a very, very good team here. So if we're saying that Christian McCaffrey is this year's version of 2023 Christian McCaffrey, then Jonathan Taylor is this year's version of 2024 Saquan Barkley. He's this year's Sequin. and JT is playing even better than he did during his running back one overall season in 2021. Think about that. 2021 Jonathan Taylor's second year was awesome.
Starting point is 00:23:55 That was his highest year in terms of rushing yardage. That was his highest season total with 20 touchdowns that year. And he set a personal high with 40 receptions. Now, JT was never going to confuse anybody with a Christian McCaffrey when it comes to catching the ball. But this year, Jonathan Taylor has at least two receptions in every game of the season. This is a maturation of the usage for Jonathan Taylor. And you've got a quarterback in Daniel Jones who is willing to check down to him continually. So Taylor this week, again, gets three rushing scores against Vegas.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Indianapolis completely steamrolls the Raiders. This is the second three rushing touchdown game for Taylor. in only three, second time in three weeks that this has happened. He had three rushing scores against Tennessee, three rushing scores against the Raiders. Absolutely ridiculous stuff when it comes to Taylor. But receiving wise, Jonathan Taylor, again, he's had at least two catches in every game. And this is three catches this week, five in week four and three in week three. These don't sound like big numbers.
Starting point is 00:25:09 But when you're adding an extra four PPR points, five PPR points to Jonathan Taylor's total, you're talking about a player who's going to put up crazy, crazy numbers. So Taylor has two games this year with 30 points or more scored, and he's got almost three of them. Week two, he had a 29 and a half pointer. Ridiculous, ridiculous stuff. We've got a true battle for the RB one overall. Let's talk about the Denver Broncos. Denver Broncos's huge win for them.
Starting point is 00:25:38 and the fantasy picture is becoming more and more clear. We have two guys really in our circle of trust when it comes to Denver. One was very predictable. Cortland Sutton had a terrific 2024 season when Bo Nix took over. Cortland Sutton finished as the wide receiver 15 was nearly a wide receiver one. It was the best season of Sutton's career on almost every single category fantasy-wise. And Sutton gets the bag from Denver. They give him the extension.
Starting point is 00:26:07 and this year even better. Cortland Sutton has four straight games with 17.9 points or more. And Sutton had eight catches for 99 yards this week against Philadelphia. Denver comes back and wins in Philly. The signature win for the Broncos this season. 2117 win on the road in Philly. Really, really, really, really impressive stuff. And again, if we take away that week two from Sutton, so again, I miss spoke on this one,
Starting point is 00:26:42 it's he has 17.9 points or more in four out of five games played this season with that clunker in week two against Indianapolis. So Sutton, if we take away week two, Sutton is a big time, big time wide receiver one. And I think we're trending in that direction. Sutton has a season high 10 targets this week. Really, really puts up fantastic numbers. We have three straight weeks with 80 or more receiving yards in every single game. And he's had at least five catches in four out of his five games this season. So Sutton is really challenging. And we have three touchdown grabs from Sutton as well this year. Like last year Sutton was through the roof in every usage category when it came to Bo Nix. It was Bo Nicks's preferred receiver. And the difference
Starting point is 00:27:30 between this year's Denver team and last year's Denver team is the high quality talent at the running back position. And it starts with J.K. Dobbins, who was the second back drafted in ADP. This is a arbitrage situation where the second highest back drafted is the highest scoring one for fantasy football. So J.K. Dobbins dominates the backfield touches. Last week, we had a really strong scoring week from R.J. Harvey. He had the walk-in touchdown, but we were very excited about the usage. But J.K. Dobbins sort of put anything to bed that this would be a little bit more of a split. This would be a potential RJ Harvey really cutting in. Dobbins has a not a massive game. He scores 15.4 points, but really shouldered a lot of the load in this game. 20 carries for 79 yards
Starting point is 00:28:26 and a touchdown also has a catch. Again, 21 to 7 in touches against RJ Harvey and Dobbins just really, really on a strong, strong, strong trajectory. Dobbins only 26 years old. He's been so injury prone throughout his career. But right now, Dobbins has four weeks where he scored five, about 15 points or more. A lot of consistency here. He has four rushing scores. And again, big, big, big win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Starting point is 00:28:57 We're looking at Dobbins as a locked in running back two. we're looking at Cortland Sutton sort of as a low-end wide receiver one. Both of these players are in your lineups. Now, a couple of quick hitters here. Miami offense, we saw how the team is going to look without Tyree Kill. The passing game looked pretty good. Three passing touchdowns from Tuatung of Iloa. Jalen Waddle, really the big beneficiary here, where he stepped in and did exactly what we want to see from Waddle.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Waddle had nine targets, six catches, 110 receiving yards and a touchdown. season highs for him. I think we can put Waddle into a solid mid wide receiver two trajectory moving forward. Waddle, we'll see. Like I don't know if there's the upside is there for him to truly explode. We sort of always talked about the contingent upside of the Miami wide receivers. If one went down, the other one would go nuts. I don't think we'll necessarily see that. But I do think Jill and Waddle is going to be a locked in wide receiver two moving forward. But really the big story of the day, Darren Waller. And Darren Waller catches a touchdown pass. He has five catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. And then that's coming off of the game last week where Waller
Starting point is 00:30:13 had two touchdown grabs. So he has three touchdown catches in his two games this year. Mike McDaniel is a low-key tight-end whisperer. You think about the things that Tuotunga Vailoa can do. The tight-end position has really supported it. A lot of low A-dot looks, compensates for the lack of a dominant offensive line in Miami. Waller, I think, is a top 10 tight end for as long as he can hold up. Now, how long can Waller hold up? I don't know. But we saw last year guys like Zach Ertz, guys like Johnny Smith, guys sort of come out of nowhere and end up being tight end ones.
Starting point is 00:30:49 I think Waller is on that track. So tick up Jalen Waddle, tick up Darren Waller in your weekly expectations. and Devon A-chan, he's going to catch his passes every single week. Really, they struggled to run the ball, but A-chan still delivers as a receiver. A-chan is A-chan. We don't need to talk about it. You already know. You have your A-chan bags packed.
Starting point is 00:31:10 You watch Fantasy Points videos. You listen to Fantasy Points podcasts. Anybody who followed me over from the previous site that I worked for knows that I've been talking about Devon A-chan for years. I remember getting into heated arguments with people telling me that I was wrong for my Devon A. Chan over Kendrae Miller takes in Dynasty rookie drafts. Well, it's going pretty well for us, Devon A. Chan bagholders last couple of years. But A. Chan, another six receptions for 30 yards, seven targets. You're going to see this sort of consistent target volume for A. Chan moving forward
Starting point is 00:31:44 with no Tyree Kill. You'll have much better weeks with him as a runner. Carolina really, really shut down the Miami running game. But again, A. Chan still delivers because he catches a touch A little bit of a bailout on that one. But again, six catches for 30 yards. That's nine PPR points on top of anything you get as a runner. So A-chan really going to thrive on receptions in this offense. We love A-chan. The replacement backs delivered.
Starting point is 00:32:11 We talked about what went happen with, again, RICO Dowd. But Rashad White dominates Sean Tucker. I mean, the Sean Tucker versus Rashad White discussion. It's sort of over here. Rashad White was really, really good. Rashad White, two touchdowns. And again, when it comes to Rashad White, definitely not the talent that Bucky Irving is. But Rashad White got there today.
Starting point is 00:32:39 14 carries, two touchdown runs. And Rashad White, we know he can catch the football. We've seen it for years. Four catches for 30 yards. Four targets, catches all four of them. I think that's something we could sort of lean into. for Bucky Irving has multiple injuries now. It sounds like we'll get at least another week of Rashad White,
Starting point is 00:32:59 maybe two more weeks of Rashad White. And when it came to Sean Tucker, nothing, absolutely nothing there. Sean Tucker did catch three passes, which was a little bit odd. They went for negative four yards. But when it comes to rush attempts, it was 14 to 3 for Rashad White, replacement back there. Also, Michael Carter. Michael Carter was the one you wanted to add versus a Marcia.
Starting point is 00:33:23 R. D. Mercado. Nothing like fantastic here. Michael Carter, of course, runs for 2.8 yards per carry, but volume is king in fantasy football, and he gets 18 carries. Again, 51 rushing yards, 18 carries. Arizona disaster of a game against Tennessee, but Carter also has five catches. So Carter got you through if you had to use them as a spot starter this week, for sure. Gets you 18 PPR points. So just never underestimate. Never underestimate. running backs when they get an opportunity in fantasy football. We've seen it over the years. If you played fantasy football long enough,
Starting point is 00:33:59 you've lived through the De Ernest Johnson, RB1 overall week, weekly RB1 overall. You've lived through the Dion Jackson RB1 week. Kenneth Gainwell last week. Rico Dattle's a little bit better than that level, but these guys, when they get an opportunity, maybe they can't do it over 16, 17 games, but they can do it in a short sample size.
Starting point is 00:34:21 There's plenty of talented backup running back. in this thing of ours. So keep an eye on guys when they get an opportunity. Hopefully we're not talking about the Chargers running backs. But hey, get an opportunity for Kamani Vidal. Maybe he gets a good week, but we do not want Omar and Hampton to miss any time. That would be depressing.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Talk about Justin Jefferson. Looks rejuvenated. Slow weeks one through three. But Jefferson is heating up with Jordan Addison also back. Addison catches the big touchdown catch. And Addison was a weird one. Big shout out to the Minnesota beat reporters. I hate when this sort of thing happens where it's something you know the beat reporters knew about,
Starting point is 00:34:58 but they don't drop it anywhere. If this was, I mean, there's nothing like this in life where reporters have to hold information like this because they don't want to lose their sources. Anyway, long talk. Jordan Addison was enjoying London, gets suspended for the really a big portion of the first half. And then it catches the touchdown at the end. That's just peak Addison. Addison is a touchdown score.
Starting point is 00:35:22 20 touchdown grabs for Addison in his career. He is just a baller. I love Jordan Addison. But the wide receiver won in Minnesota, Justin Jefferson. Seven catches for 123 yards. Last week, 10 catches for 126. 11 targets in back-to-back games. Really good stuff from Jefferson.
Starting point is 00:35:41 He's back. And we got to mention Quinn Sean Judkins because the box score doesn't tell you just how good he was. He had a touchdown called back on a penalty. Judkins had a couple other plays. where there were penalties that called back yardage. But every single Quinn John Judkins rush is a grown-ass man run. And you know, you know what I'm saying here. It was a grown-ass man.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Quinn-Shon-Junkins takes the football and it's got these vision and this physicality as a runner that if you've done this for a long time and you've watched enough football, you just know it when it comes to Quintan-Junkins. He's on such a high-level trajectory moving forward throughout his career. when you consider how much time he missed in the preseason, when you consider he missed the early portion of the regular season, for him to come in and do this, this is a bell cow running back in every sense of the word.
Starting point is 00:36:35 23 carries for 110 yards, and he adds an 18-yard reception. He's an awesome player, but he is handcuffed by the quality of the Cleveland Brown's offense. But if we put this in perspective, Quinn-John-Juckins has back-to-back weeks with 20 plus carries in losses. So Judkins is going to end up having,
Starting point is 00:36:58 at some point this season, I feel pretty confident about this one. You're going to see a 30-touch game out of Quinchan Judkins some week that the Browns are winning. You're going to see them just hand off to Judkins every play. Because why not? He is absolutely the real deal. We love Quinchan Judkins,
