Week number two in the National Football League is almost in the books.
What's up? I'm John Hansen. Brian Drake and I are back with another edition of the Fantasy Points podcast.
A wild week. We thought we knew a lot of stuff coming out of week one.
We don't know crap after week two has been almost placed in the book.
So hang in there for an hour plus. We'll break down our thoughts on all the games.
And as always, you're welcome.
all across the fantasy universe.
Welcome to the Fantasy Points podcast.
Monday Recap Edition.
Hope you guys had a fantastic weekend.
Week two in the NFL,
it is crazier than ever out there, folks.
Welcome in.
I'm Brian Drake,
joined by the guru,
John Hanson.
Guru, I mean,
holy smokes.
I don't even know where to begin.
We saw a boatload of injuries to some big time players.
We saw the 49ers,
the Cowboys,
lions all go down on Sunday afternoon.
Somehow teams like Pittsburgh or 2 and O,
we had more anarchy between the Bengals in Kansas City.
I guess you could just say, John, it's another week in the NFL.
You could say, Brian, good morning and hello, whatever the hell time it is that we're doing
this or when we'll release it.
You know what you can say, you got to love sports as what you could say, because you
really do have to enjoy sporting activities like the stuff we saw play.
out in week number two in the national
fake you out league
there were a number of
instances and
I'm always guilty of this every year and then I
wise up after week two or three
you
look at something like
the cults only
giving up three points
with Malik Willis and you're like
okay that seems
to be too good to be true and if it
seems too good to be true
if it seems so counterintuitive
intuitive as in terms of the mindset where we were just from the week before, like that did,
then it will probably happen.
So there were just many, many cases of, oh, what's that?
You thought you knew the deal in week one?
Check again.
Guess again, pal.
You don't know squat.
And we're going to show you here in week number two.
So we'll go through all those situations.
Yeah, game by game look here kind of covering the top line fantasy nuggets.
And again, we always like to reiterate when,
John and I record this. We don't have all the fantasy points data. The charting is still ongoing.
So we're kind of going off our feel from the games. You know, a lot of the counties.
I mean, this is early, this is early reaction here, man.
Early reaction. And, you know, hopefully some of these injuries aren't as bad as they appear.
So let's go game by game. Start things off with the Raiders.
Raiders, big win going across the country to Baltimore, John. Take down the Ravens who are now 0.2.
Oh, and two. Baltimore blows a 10.4th quarter lead at home to a Raiders team who ran for just 27 yards. Minchu, he was pretty good. 30 for 38, 276 and a touchdown. But John, this is all about two guys, Devante Adams and Brock Bowers. 21 targets between the two guys. Adams, nine for 110 and a score. Bowers nine for 98. In two games, Bowers has a 25 percent target share and is averaging 15. point.
three fantasy points. That's per my good buddy, Dwayne McFarlane.
Just, man, Bowers looks great. I've never been an Adams guy, but, you know, he comes through
and sticks it up my behind. But what a win for the Raiders. Yeah, absolutely absurd because
we'll get into Derek Henry in a moment. But, you know, I think it kind of fits what are my
favorite sayings of all time. Luck is the residue of design. And maybe it applies here.
It's like, yeah, I talked up this Derek Henry prop all week and it hit. And,
The narrative was he crushes in when they win and they freaking lost.
I mean, you really truly got to love sports.
I mean, I thought they had this thing in control, although it was obviously close in the first half.
They couldn't do crap.
And it's once again, by the way, the Zay Flowers show.
I mean, he's just all over the place.
Bateman makes one or two late plays.
They got managers involved a little bit.
And here's the first example of, oh, what's that?
You thought Isaiah likely was a thing that was too good to be true or too good to
be denied the ball no no he's way more volatile than you know your average tight end one so maybe
we got to pull back a little bit there reevaluate a little bit but hey keep starting zay flowers
lamar hey comes through with a solid day you know he's not going to go off every week on the ground
feel okay about derrick henry but yeah it's just wild and they do it you know mostly playing from
behind they come back with all those late three scores adams takes over but man bowers was absolutely
unbelievable. Catching all nine of his targets.
It's incredible. Gardner Minshue completes 30 of 38?
I mean, Baltimore had given up production in week one, but I thought maybe some of that was
fluky, you know, with Xavier Worthy. But geez, man, you know, the data is not going to
look good for those guys in terms of, well, completion percentage for one. Gardner Minshu.
Gardner Minshu, 30 or 38? 78.9% for our guy, Gardner Minchew.
Let's quickly touch on this backfield.
Last week it was, you know, hey, Zamir White, you know, you game scripted out of it.
Madison is going to be the guy, go pick him up.
I mean, 65% of the snaps for Zamir White this week, Madison with only 22, but he is getting that third down work.
He played at 7 to 12, third downs.
And he also had a lot of the goal line work, John.
Six of the seven goal line plays went to Madison and he got to punch one in.
But, you know, you're scoring a touchdown.
The guy ran for one yard.
You know, tough to trust the guy who runs for one yard.
If you got Samir White, John, what do you do?
Nine for 24?
2.7 yards of carry?
That's garbage.
Yeah, I mean, he did get three grabs, I guess, in garbage time, three for 14.
I thought he would get a couple of grabs a game.
Nothing incredible.
But, you know, where the hell are the targets for Madison?
So, I mean, we know the Madison is clearly, you got to look at him over White at this point.
He's getting those money touches.
I still think White's their starter.
can ever have a lead they're going to try and run the ball with samir white i'm not going to do that with
madison but you know they're the raiders they haven't had a good defense in a long long decades
so madison is the guy it's ugly it's gross i'd rather probably quit than rely on
alexander madison it's like oh why'd you leave why'd you lead the lee leave and oh why'd you
retire or why you quit i'm like you know it just wasn't any fun even though it was winning because
I was winning with Alexander Madison.
You know what I mean? It's boring, you know.
But hey, I'm kind of kidding.
Not kidding. But hey, he is getting it done here in this backfield.
Two touchdowns and two weeks.
And meanwhile, Zemir White is crushing people.
Can't use Amir White.
You want to talk about gross.
The next game on the docket, the L.A. Chargers are two and oh.
Hey, shout out to Jim Harbaugh.
They go and beat up on the Panthers.
And it's over for the Panthers.
I mean, I wonder if Dave Canales, John,
makes the season with the goofy owner they've got down there in carolina this is as bad of a football
team as we can ever talk about i mean there's been some winless teams of late bryce young is
abysmal 18 of 26 for 84 yards john i mean what are we talking about here their leading receiver
was tommy tremble he caught three balls for 23 nobody's trembling at night worried about
Tommy Trembal that that is for sure no absolutely repugnant we are already a week or maybe a month away
from not to be hot takey here but looking at Bryce Shook just putting them on the list of like all-time
busts I mean I'm trying my best not to overreact but to show absolutely no improvement
I know it's a new system and all that and look I gave Dave Canales all kinds of credit over the last
couple of years. I also said
kind of late when he got this job,
like, I don't know, it seems like a little premature
that we're annoying. It seems like you're kind of
hoping it happens, like you got the next
great guy. I wasn't so sure about that. I think he's
smart and logical and does
things, again, logically.
Like, oh, I don't know, well, I'm going to
put my players in the best position to
utilize their talent, you know, things like that,
unlike a guy like Byron Leifsch, the year before.
We'll see about that. But, man,
And the narrative is setting into stone here on a weekly basis.
It's getting more and more concrete of Bryce Young being the next great draft day flop.
I mean, it's that bad.
On the other side for the Chargers, hey, another great day for J.K. Dobbins, John.
At the time of our recording, he's a top five running back in PPR.
20.1 points, 131 yards on the ground.
Average over seven and a half yards of carry did J.K. Dobbins.
So look great.
We got to watch out Herbert with an injury.
I think it's a leg issue, got rolled up on late in the game.
But the guy I want to really ask you about Quentin Johnston, he's owned in 7% of Yahoo leagues, six targets, five for 51 and not one, but two touchdowns.
Yeah, I was about ready to tweet right after the first one because I was impressed with that play.
I'm like, well, Quentin Johnston is officially now a weapon.
Like, it's a thing.
This has been a really nice ascension and job by him, quite frankly.
You know, you have an opportunity here to open up the season and your season.
This dude is absolutely positively seizing it.
So I think he's a guy we can look at now legitimately as having some upside every single week.
I mean, it's been pretty nice here.
You know, I wasn't a Quentin Johnston guy last year.
thought he was way too rough around the edges, which he was.
But man, when they put DJ Chark on IR, because Chark was going to be the guy over him,
I was like, okay, this is a big opportunity.
And again, he is taking full advantage.
Yeah, we really want to pay attention to this Justin Herbert injury because if he misses any time,
I mean, this is.
Yeah, they're aft.
Yeah, this team is already kind of, you know, walking a tightrope here.
So let's take a quick time out.
And on the other side, wow, Clint Kubiak, maybe.
the story of the NFL through two weeks, you're not going to want to miss what the Saints did
to the Cowboys. It's the Fantasy Points podcast. All right, welcome back in, everybody. John, I'll admit,
I didn't know a whole lot about Clint Kubiak when he got this job running the Saints' offense.
I'm glad he did. He is kind of, not kind of. He has just flipped the league on its head.
The Saints have now dropped back-to-back 40-point bombs on everybody, and Elvin Kamara,
had himself a day, 22 touches, 180 yards, and four touchdowns as the Saints beat down the
Cowboys in Big D, 44 to 19. This is not a day, John. Derek Carr completed 11 passes, but threw for
243 with two scores. Unbelievable what's happening here with Raheed Shaheed and all the guys here in
New Orleans. Well, let's look back at Clinton Kubiak, obviously the name that's Gary Kubiak's son.
and Gary Kubiak is of course a direct disciple and descendant of the Shanahan tree,
which is the tree that is the Shaw McVay tree now.
So there's that.
We're starting there.
Clint Kubiak was in Minnesota in 2019 through 2020.
And guess who the head coach was, Mike Zimmer, who is now coaching the Cowboy D.
So in retrospect, maybe that was part of the domination.
But obviously, they're stringing together two really, really good performances.
But, you know, I jokingly, not jokingly tweeted when someone asked about Derek Carr,
I'm like, he's baiting us.
He's baiting us.
And he's setting us up to fail.
He's Lucy right now.
He's got into the shed and grabbed the football and walking out to the field and putting it up for
us to kick but you know like he might not be because clint kubiak again this coaching tree this
offense just works and if it's clicking right it's it's it's just deadly i mean it's explosive
uh how about um reshue jihad like any time again if he goes up zone he's mr zone buster man
and zimmer runs a ton of zone i wrote that this morning in hans and sands like yeah it's a matchup
to exploit. Once again, why? I mean, not to oversimplify it, but it seems to always work.
Whenever he makes a big play, I had pretty much previously said, well, he could make a big play
in this game because of the coverage. Yeah, Camaro looked really good. Like, some of these
offensive lines we thought they were going to be in trouble and they're like holding up.
It's just so much stuff that's going on. Like, it's, we really need now about a month of action
in the national football league before we truly have a good feel for these teams.
You know the funny thing with Derek Carr, and I tweet about this every year, is he would always start out hot with the Raiders when he was there.
And people would be like, oh, the Raiders are back.
This is their year.
And then they just fall on their face.
Like, I don't know how many times.
I should look that up.
How many times Derek Carr started like 2 and 0, 3 and 1s?
I'm like that.
And I'm like, oh, it's Derek Carr, the Raiders are here.
And we're like, oh, Derek Carr, MVP season.
and it never works out.
Will it work out here?
Who knows?
It seems like they got a pretty good scheme,
but just more on your guy,
Shaheed,
from my paled Wayne McFarlane again,
through two games,
81% route participation,
23% target share,
46% of the air yards
is going to Rashid Shaheed.
So,
boy, oh boy,
I know I've got him on a couple of benches
and I'm like,
eh,
he's kind of a shot play guy.
I don't know if I can trust him.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm going to put him in.
He's going to screw me next week.
I loved them last year.
Looks like I'm a little, a year too early.
I didn't start him in a league this week, and I screwed up.
It's the same deal, you're right.
He is too volatile, but, you know, those route participation numbers are important
because I have heard that, yeah, he's grown.
He continues to grow.
I mean, he was inexperienced a couple years ago.
I mean, he was not a, I mean, he was undrafted, right?
I'm pretty sure, right?
He was one of those pet project guys kind of.
But I think he's becoming a little bit more of a complete player.
Like, we'll see if he can, you know, do it against man, I guess.
But, you know, he's, he's absolutely growing.
Yeah, he was undrafted.
Weber State.
Yeah, Weber State.
Six foot, 180 pound, right?
He's coming through.
I mean, he's one of the fastest guys in a straight line of the NFL.
It's got to be receivers.
It's got to be top five.
Well, let's spin it over to the Cowboys now.
And, you know, I've talked a lot about our guys.
Uncle Rico and these snaps per Dave Richards of CBS with Dak Prescott because they pulled him for Cooper Rush in the fourth quarter.
Dowdell had 46% of the snaps, but Zeke Elliott, 41% of the snaps, 7 to 12 of the third downs and he got the one snap inside the 10.
I mean, if you want seven points, fine, start one of these guys, but they're cannibalizing each other, John.
I just had no faith of starting either Zeke or Uncle Rico.
Yeah, I mean, Zeke is absolutely doing exactly what I thought he would do.
Get goal line work, third down, a lot of the third down.
But I thought Rico would get some of that to the third down.
I mean, I guess he's Mr. Between the 20s, no doubt about it.
Just, you know, really a no-show for Mike Zimmer.
I mean, good luck with Mike Zimmer, guys.
Mike Zimmer sucks, guys.
Leak passed him by.
I said this like five years ago.
But have you seen his girlfriend?
He knows how to scout.
That guy.
Yeah, yeah.
He starts young.
He starts very young in the early scouting process.
You know, C.D. Lamb barely.
Once again, both instances, I love the Camara receiving prop.
And again, I was back and forth between that and the receptions because I thought they'd be playing from behind and or just under pressure because, you know, cowboy rush, right?
And that wasn't the case either way.
and yet Camara, I still got it right because Camara makes a 57-yarders.
So I got lucky on a couple of them there.
Also got lucky with C.D. Lamb kind of coming through.
We were very high on him.
I talked him up.
Not a great game, but technically that's a win.
That's what, an 18, 19-point game.
But I thought Jalen Tobert made a couple great plays.
He's a guy I kind of liked a couple years ago,
watched him at the Senior Bowl.
Not a great separator, but he's a good player.
and he's coming to his own, man.
He is coming on here.
And meanwhile, Brandon Cooks got erased.
I don't know what the hell happened,
but anytime you see something like this happen with Brandon Cooks,
I worry about, uh-oh,
it means he's slowing down because I've been looking for it.
Maybe we saw a little bit of a passing of the torch here with Jalen Tolbert.
I don't know, probably not,
because this is every other week league kind of,
but that, in a league, if you're in a skank league with like nothing,
this is a nice player to pick up
because there's a clear path
to him being very relevant.
The Cowboys have always produced
these guys out of nowhere. Not always, but
remember that year Cedric Wilson
had, and then Noah Brown,
you know, these ancillary guys seem to
get it done here in this offense.
Yeah, Luke Schoonmaker in replacement
of our guy, Tert Ferguson.
It's caught all six of his targets. Six for
43. Hey, a tight end, he'll take that.
If you're maybe threw him a DFS lineup
or something, or maybe you're dead
the wire because, you know, Evan Ingram got ruled out 10 minutes before the game, so you
needed to scramble for somebody? Do you think Scootmaker is somebody going forward that,
you know, again, deep skank league, you're dead at tight end. You might be going to get something
from. Yeah, absolutely. I actually wrote that this morning. I've met that dude. I'm actually
met him both. And good dude, huge guy. I looked him up. It's like, oh, only six, five. I thought
he was like six, seven, because he was massive. But yeah, I mean, he's a,
second round pick.
They throw to the tight end a lot.
Dak throws in the middle of the field quite a bit.
It's kind of like his checkdown and safety valve.
Absolutely.
He's actually a viable tight end handcuff, honestly.
Yeah.
Let's keep it rolling here.
Tampa Bay is 2 and O goes into Detroit and knocks off the lions.
I don't think a lot of people saw this coming, John.
And maybe the way to know.
not win a game if you're Detroit,
is to have Jared Gough drop back 55 times.
He does go for 307 yards, but no touchdowns.
He did manage to find Amman Rae St. Brown 11 times for 1119,
but Amon Ra goes down late in the game with a leg injury.
We'll have to monitor that as practice goes on.
19 targets for Amon Ra.
I mean, this, you want to talk about a passing tree getting condensed.
Amon Ra, John, with 19 targets.
James and Williams with 11.
goes five for 79.
Where's our guy La Porta?
Guy gets three targets.
He goes two for 13.
What the hell?
He's like Sam LaPorta potty.
I mean, it was absolute crap in this game.
I did on Sirius XM.
I did it elsewhere too, I believe, on Vison.
That was one of my top bowl predictions.
Amon Rae catches 10 balls.
Pretty close.
Kind of saw that one coming.
Todd Bowles blitzes a lot.
He's, you know, hot read.
security blanket coming out of the blitz but man james was used still like an alpha one outside guy
david montgomery you got to be kidding me getting four grabs for 35 but hey you'll you'll take that
he scores again you know pretty good game for gibbs somebody guys catching a lot of balls for no yardage
though seven grabs for 22 but you know kind of an ugly game uh golf comes up a little small but you know
kind of a good game for fantasy uh godwin was an absolute beast it broke
and coverage on the touchdown you know definitely worried about rashad white i mean it was a weird game in
that they kind of had the lead tampa for a while not like bucky irvin did anything they don't block
it very well but man what a buzz kill so we learned that white has a pretty significant floor 11 touches
and he comes up small as hell i mean ever you know guys come up small i mean mike evans got seven
points uh but man you you should definitely be worried about white i am yeah
You know, we're talking to Rashad White here.
10 carries for 18 yards.
I mean, what are we talking about here?
Less than two yards of carry.
And usually he'll make his hay in the past game.
Got one ball for five yards.
But the usage is there.
I mean, Baker only threw it 19 times.
That's wild.
Absolutely wild.
Think about it.
Think about it.
Golf threw it 55.
How many catches does White get
if the flip this script here?
The script does flip.
He catches six, you know?
you know what it is this is a testament to how good that Todd Bulls defense is in Tampa they are elite
you know he's been there for a while you know he's got the players they got good corners
you know they run his scheme to a tee and I've seen two weeks in a row where Tampa Bay is
shutting down some some pretty good you know there's a pretty good team here in Detroit so I'm
very impressed by this any other takeaways you know is Baker Mayfield I get it he only
completed 12 balls in fantasy you know does he need to be just kind of a super flex special or
real desperation play because i worry he's just never going to throw it yeah but you know he is two
for two in terms of the moving the needle because of the touchdown you know he did put up 9.4 points on
the ground so i i would lean toward him being firmly in the top 15 convo every week now and based
on matchup sometimes he's in the top 12 and sometimes not but they'll be they'll try
try to be balanced, but they can't run it all that well.
And they really do have a nice assortment of weapons.
I mean, McMillan only catches one ball, but it's for 21.
We joked on the live stream this morning about Cade Rotten and Cade Otten, don't call me rotten.
And wow, that was, we hit the nail in the head because Cade Rotten literally got negative points.
Because he had one carry for negative four yards.
That is rotten right there.
Oh, you're feeling rotten this morning.
What happened?
I started Kate Otton.
There you go.
Someone just pissed right in my Cheerios, started Kate on this week.
Hey, let me hit you with this, John.
Here's the top six quarterbacks in fantasy.
Again, at the time of our recording.
Kyler, Monster Day.
Got didn't even play in the fourth quarter.
Then Derek Carr, we talked about him, big game.
Sammy Darnold, your boy, Baker Mayfield,
fourth overall on the day.
Danny Dimes.
Danny Dimes.
We mentioned how bad the commander's secondary is and, you know, he might have a good day.
And then Gino Smith, that's your top six right now pending Sunday and Monday night.
So what a wacky week for quarterbacks.
Yeah, well, it's going to happen a lot because, you know, you got about 22, 23 pretty decent ones.
And anything can happen week to week.
I mean, so this is this is normal.
This is why like one quarterback leagues are almost like.
really? It's almost kind of a joke
in a 10 or 12 team league.
Well, let's hope you didn't have to start Malik Willis.
But Malik Willis got a win
in his Packers debut.
16 to 10 over the
Indianapolis Colts.
Listen, we told you beforehand.
Don't start any of these receivers anymore
for the Packers as long as Jordan loves out.
Nobody did anything. Don Tavian Wicks
caught a touchdown. Who cares? Nobody's starting
Don Tavian Wicks. The story here, John,
32 carries for Josh Jacobs for 151 yards.
Wow, that's incredible.
32 carries.
How long can he keep that up?
Yeah, I don't know.
He's had a lot of touches over the, what, four or five years here?
Yeah, he'll probably wear down if this continues.
But I think maybe we're looking at Jordan Love playing pretty soon.
And I got to tell you, I mean, I didn't watch everything.
But from what I saw, Malik Willis, I was, I came away and press just with LaFloor and the staff,
for them to massage and manage Malik Willis
to a 12 of 14 performance
and you know he just throw for 122
it's not like he you know
average like four yards in attempt
doesn't turn the ball over with a pick
he used his legs
I mean it's about as perfect as you can imagine
this is just like I said at the top
you know the National Fake You Out League like
that line looked ridiculous
the cult's only given three
And guess what it was ridiculous?
This should have been given, you know, eight because they sucked in this game other than John Taylor.
And I guess Alec Pierce, you know, I was a year too early, apparently on Alec Pierce because I kind of liked him as a late pick.
Everybody else is screwed over here right now.
We're going to spread the ball around and barely throw for over 200 yards on average with Richardson.
It's not great.
Richardson can't throw the football.
I mean, he's great.
If you want to just broken play, backyard.
it. You know, he kind of reminds me of it a little bit, John, is Houston Deshawn Watson.
Dishon Watson was a thousand times better. Don't get me wrong. But that was how he played.
Sort of that, that Russ Wilson playground style. Like, I'm going to run around and I'm going to make a
play. He was 17 of 34. So he was 50% completion percentage. If you've got Michael Pittman,
forget about it. Seven targets. He goes three for 21 in this game.
Yeah, it's, you know, and if you started Anthony Richardson, he didn't do a whole lot for
you. He only got you. I'm looking here on ESPN scoring 12.8.
No, he didn't with the three picks. Yeah. Yeah, it's funny because, you know, I beat myself up last year, and this is the National Fake You Out League again, for not being into Pittman. But what I was afraid about last year is literally happening right now with AR. And the thing is, like, it probably would have happened last year. But he got hurt, and it was the gardener, which, by the way, bodes well for DeVante.
Adams and Brock Bowers.
I mean, the Gardner was able to support
Michael Pittman catching 100 balls.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
We're screwed now with Michael Pittman, most likely.
You know, there'll be some good weeks,
but overall, like, we're not hitting anything close to,
I mean, I don't even know if we're,
we're not getting 80 catches this year.
I don't think we are.
I don't think so either.
Well, we mentioned Deshaun Watson.
He got a win this week as the Browns defeated the Jaguars
and kind of a rainy game down in Jacksonville.
18 to 13. Watson completed 22 of 34, didn't throw any touchdowns, but didn't, you know, hurt
his team as much in the process. He either looked much more functional this week, John,
than he did last week. Yeah. For the Browns, hey, if we want to say one thing about the
Browns and it might be go pick up Deont de Foreman, 14 carries for 42 yards. Listen, unless any of these
guys score a touchdown. These running backs, they're not going to come through for you. But if you're
dying at running back, Foreman's at least getting 14 carries to Jerome Ford's seven. You know,
it's tough to trust a guy John. Jerome Ford is only getting seven carries a week. Yeah, yeah,
but all he does is kind of gets it done though, doesn't he? Ford? He somehow finds a way. He kind
of patches it together. And then at the end of the day, you're like, oh, wow, look, you know,
not too bad. Although, yeah, he doesn't get the catches this week. By the way, I love, um, I
live 75 miles from the
freaking Jaguar Stadium.
Get season tickets. Come on, baby.
I mean, I saw
a thing somewhere on TV
where like tickets, you can get tickets for like 30
bucks. I'm like, man, I should go.
I haven't been to a regular season
game in like 30 years.
I want a picture on Twitter
at Fantasy underscore
Guru of you with your feet up
at Everbank Stadium, beer
in hand in the upper deck, just watching the game.
Hell, maybe you get in that pool they got
out there.
Oh, yeah.
You're floating around.
You got the phone out.
You're in a float.
You got a pinocalada.
That'd be fantastic.
Well, I can go October 6 against the Colts.
I got the Patriots.
Oh, Jordan Love and the Packers week eight.
Oh, maybe I'll do that one.
Oh, they're at Philly.
Oh, look, my Vikings.
There you go.
November 10th, baby.
I should go to that.
Wow.
It's nice weather there, too.
so well i was going to say you said you mentioned the rain it is freaking rain like 16 days
at a row where i'm at like i haven't seen the sun since like before labor day oh man i feel like
the old c c r son there it's like uh have you ever seen the rain or i don't know either way
oh i've seen it yeah yeah every freaking day i know the real the new version is have you ever
not seen the rain actually no it's who'll stop the rain that's what we'll stop the rain that's what we'll stop the
Not me.
It'll stop the rain.
Yeah.
Have you ever seen the rain?
It's 85 degrees.
My kids are on the pool.
I live in upstate New York.
Like we're definitely,
shit's on its head here, man.
Elsewhere, just let's, you know,
what are we getting from this Brown's receiving cord?
Jerry Judy leads away five for 73.
Scored last week.
Now we get to 73.
I mean,
are we kind of seeing a connection here with Judy and Watson?
I mean,
I think we're at the whims of Watson every week here.
you know like I'm not going to sit here and tell you oh this was Elijah Moore's coming out party
or even Judy it might be Judis if I had to go I'd have to go Judy because he's strung the other
two good games in a row now I guess but yeah I mean they're still spreading it around a little bit
there's still not a lot it's not like he threw for a lot he only I mean we're I guess
rightfully giving him some love the man threw for 186 yards
with zero touchdowns.
So, but yeah, I guess if we're, if we're looking at anything,
we've got to look at Judy here.
And that's it.
Because this is,
there's two games who's been impactful.
And, uh,
you know,
catches five to six targets for 73.
It's a pretty good day at the office.
Can anyone throw for 300 yards in the NFL anymore?
What the hell's going on out here?
I don't.
I know.
It's brutal.
Speaking of brutal, man, like,
geez,
I did not like Christian Kirk this week.
But good Lord.
I mean, and then Thomas, look, it's fluky, but man, he's the rookie Brian Thomas is, I mean, he's kind of the guy that you can, he's only the only Jaguar receiver that you can trust right now.
And that comes on the heels of Evan Ingram, who was a pregame scratch.
Everyone got those alerts just before the game.
He injured himself in pregame warups with a hamstring.
So you're running to the waiver wire to try to find someone to plug in here.
Brian Thomas, two catches for 94 yards.
It's nice to average 47 yards of reception, John,
but I don't know how sustainable that is.
You know, ETN gets in the end zone.
That kind of saves his day.
Other than that, 13 for 52.
Tank Bigsby got banged up in this game with a shoulder,
so we're going to have to see there because he was kind of coming on a little bit.
We thought.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, that helps ATN a little bit.
This offense, I'll be honest.
How about Brenton Strange?
of the tight end, you know, involved here.
It was a strange pickman and made it.
I don't like anything about this.
It's bad.
This Jagged offense.
Everything is a struggle with Jacksonville,
watching this Doug Peterson,
Press Taylor offense.
All right, let's take a time out, John,
and then when we come back,
all right, you can get on your soapbox,
you can put your Viking head on,
your Fran Tarkington helmet,
whatever you got,
because your Vikings had a big win on Sunday.
We'll be back on their side.
Here's a fantasy.
points podcast. All right, John, welcome back in. I got to hand it to you. I didn't see this coming from
your Vikings 2317 win at home over the 49ers. Now, the 49ers, a lot of stuff going on there.
No CMC. They put him on injured reserve. So it's Jordan Mason time and he looked great. 20 carries,
100 yards rushing and a touchdown. So that's awesome for him. But hey, your Vikings go out and they
get it done here. Sammy Darno looking like
a player looking like a guy who
was drafted by the Jets.
What was he like a top five pick? Was he number
one overall? I don't even remember the hell they took him.
It was like three.
I'm going to Lord.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know,
that Justin Jefferson catch, that was like a legacy catch.
That was one of the
greatest receiving plays in Vikings history.
I really do believe that. Like, you know, it's top
10. I bet you when
Justin Jefferson is asked when he
retires about his favorite catches,
that's going to be way up there. I mean, that was pretty incredible.
Donald put it on him perfectly.
It was very well timed out.
The line protected,
you know, they've got that
going for him, the bookend tackles.
And I do believe
at this point there is a possibility.
He has sample size Sam
and he normally
gets worse when the sample sizing
improves or increases, but
we also need to look
at Kevin O'Connell as being a little bit of a
quarterback whisperer, and maybe
he's doing some magic here.
Let's not go crazy because
again, sample size Sam, but
we're doing all right. We're
definitely doing all right and playing the
almost about the, this is about
the best two games I've seen him play
since that little Carolina run
he had a couple years ago, which by the way
was a mirage and faded away.
Yep. I remember that. I remember
telling people on a radio show.
I was like, you could trade Josh Allen because you could just go pick Sam Darnold
above the waiver wire and start him instead.
Oh, my God.
Good call.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's why they pay me the big bucks.
Hey, how much are you got Jalen Naylor here?
He scores this week, three for 54.
He kind of looks like a player out here.
I like him.
I don't know if he's waiver wire worthy, but maybe super deep skank league like the
FPI might be worth something.
He was very.
good in training camp this year. He was kind of like their star. You know, he has a starting
receiver a lot. You know, they play Addison in the slot. So yeah, yeah, I mean, they have some other
guys, but no, I mean, Jalen Naylor is clearly the other guy, you know, if, if Addison is out,
Nailer is the only other guy to consider. And if Jefferson is out the same deal, he would be the only
guy other than Addison, of course, to consider.
So, yeah, he's kind of standing out a little bit on the lower end, you know, but it's one
of those things like, it's a good player who's ascending.
He's got a roll.
They need them.
Yeah, let's see what we see here.
They can't guarantee it, but it's a, there's a, there's a lot of good boxes we just
checked right there with them.
49ers killed themselves on third down.
Two of 10 on third down.
If you can't sustain drives, you can't go and score and you can't win football.
and that was their Achilles heel today.
Achilles heel, CMC.
See what I did there, folks?
Debo Samuel does what Debo does.
Eight for 110.
Georgie Kittles, seven for 76 and got in the box.
It's training camp time here for Brandon Ayuk, four for 43.
I start him in some leagues.
I'm like, God damn.
Like, this guy is just killing me out here because, you know, he's just, he's not in shape.
He's not ready to go yet.
Yeah, yeah.
We did love Debo.
He comes through.
I thought Purdy would, would,
do a little bit better.
Pretty pissed about that.
You know, Vikings did a good job on Mason early,
but then, you know, they warm him down.
He popped off that 22-yarder.
They just spread the ball around a little bit.
Jennings is still involved.
Yeah, not much else there.
Ayuk is kind of what's missing, really.
Like what, they're missing just that little extra juice, pizzazz.
It's Ayuk.
So I'm sure they'll figure it out.
And, yeah, how about that's CMC?
Oh, boy, that's unbelievable.
I mean, he may not play till week 10, man.
Yeah, I mean, you better have-
It's like ruin your whole year.
Just ruin your year.
If you had the number one pick, you didn't have Mason, you're screwed.
I mean, yeah, you're screwed.
It's like you went to your draft.
You were excited for months or weeks because you got the number one pick.
You get to your draft, you sit down.
You're like, Christian McCaffrey, season over.
You might as well just light the sticker on fire when you put it.
it on the board because.
I mean, that was an unbelievable 1.7 seconds, though, of excitement.
Yeah.
Stand up.
Hey, guys, I'm taking Christopher.
Thanks for, uh, thanks for having me.
Take care of.
And I lost.
Hey, uh, should people be looking to pick up Ty Chandler?
I know that Aaron Jones left for a minute in this game, uh, but Chandler does.
Absolutely.
You know, I got to tell you.
Yeah, Brian.
I love Ty Chandler two years ago.
I liked them as a sleeper last year.
But this year, I'm like, yeah, I mean, we're not good.
You know, people are getting a little gaga, but no, I get it.
He's just an Aaron Jones injury away from.
But man, he looked freaking good today.
That was as good as I had seen him run the rock.
It was on a couple of plays, like the 25-yarder, absolutely pick up Ty Chandler if he's available.
Because he will produce.
I mean, I'm convinced of it.
I mean, he didn't catch a ball here.
Aaron Jones catches five, though.
Ty Chandler, I've talked to Ty Chandler.
He's a good receiver.
He can flex out wide.
Yeah, he's, that was a very good show.
So absolutely pick them up if you're looking for a running back.
I can't be the only guy that just sits here for seven hours and watches football on a Sunday, John.
I just got a text from my wife during the show with a picture of all the laundry that I have all over our bed.
And she's like, it is, you know, Sunday night, this cannot happen.
I need to go to bed, like move your stuff off the bed.
The kid's bed has stuff on it.
She's like, what have you done all day?
I'm like, watch football.
It's my job.
You put it in a laundry bin, set on the floor.
You do it Monday morning.
Yeah.
Monday afternoon.
Come on a night.
Tuesday.
Yeah.
You do it Wednesday.
Thursday morning, you'll do it.
I'm going to Kansas City for a business trip all week, John.
So essentially, I'll be drinking Kansas City for four days.
But, yeah, she's not happy about this.
Hey, business.
It is.
Business.
Then I've got to go to the guru's house.
Hey, uh, the Patriots lose in overtime to the Seahawks,
2320.
Congrats to the Seahawks.
They're 2 and O with their new look offense.
Patriots though, you know what I gleam from this, John?
They're not as bad as I thought they were going to be.
I thought they were like, oh, my God, they're going to have the first overall pick.
This team is just dog shit.
They can't do anything.
But this defense is pretty good.
Uh, and really, I got to tell people, Hunter Henry, 12 targets, eight for
one oh nine.
If he's on your waiver wire, folks, and you need a tight end, I mean, he's like the offense at this point.
At least the passing.
That was ridiculous, though.
I mean, after last week, what is KJ. Osborne dead and hopeless?
I mean, this is a game was littered with those kind of things.
Like, really, Hunter Henry?
He's gone a month without having 12 targets recently in the last couple of years.
I will say Jalen Polk did have a great ass in week one average separation score.
I'll tell you what, a kid can move well.
He scored.
Gibson had a couple runs.
What?
What?
Gibson runs for 96 and 11 carries.
Romagna was fine.
It didn't do all that much, but he scored.
So, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, Henry is certainly a pickup.
Polk, I think, is a good stash.
I'd probably give up on everybody.
everybody else.
It's Stevenson. It's Henry.
They'll sprinkle a little Gibson. That's the offense.
That's it.
Yeah.
For the Seahawks, there was no Ken Walker, much to my dismay, because I own him in like
15 leagues.
So Zach Charbonnet gets the start and just dominates touches in the backfield, but only
runs for 38 yards, John.
He does get a touchdown.
So that's great.
You know, it's one of those things.
If there's no Ken Walker, you start Charbonnet, we're not breaking down, you know, the
the molecule here for you folks.
Gino throws a 3.27.
But I tried to mention today on the live stream, like,
I don't think I did a great job of it, but like,
you know the, we need a term for this guy.
The fill in stud.
It's like, oh, he's Alexander Madison.
Oh, Dalvin Cook is out.
Just plug in blindly Madison over like really good assets.
So, I mean, Charbonnet is kind of looking like that already.
Like he does score.
but imagine if he didn't score.
I mean, I guess he was good.
Five for 31, but man, he's not that good.
So I guess I'm just bitter because I stupidly took a prop of his
thinking he would get the ball, which he did.
But yeah, I guess.
But I would be careful.
Like, it's one thing, oh, I really need him.
Sure.
He got 19 touches.
Don't go using him over like, you know, I don't know,
like Josh Jacobs in the future,
just because or somebody else who's in a little bit of a time share.
because he is a jag.
He really is.
Jagg-sharbon-A.
I mean, he's a little jaggy.
You can't run on this Patriots defense.
Maybe that's the moral of the story here is they become this past funnel now.
44 attempts for Gino.
He throws for 327 and a score.
14 targets for D.K. Metcalfe.
I didn't think he'd come through at all with Gonzalez on him.
He goes buck 29 and a touchdown, though.
That first play, I think, was like, fluky.
it was not I don't believe manned coverage it was like I don't know they confused them or I don't know I don't know what happened there so I have to go back and look I did kind of like Jackson Smith and Jigua but it was hard to back him after last week and then this is another example of oh oh you thought Tyler Lackett was back ha ha no no he's not he's he's not he's gonna he's gonna look back in week one and prompt you to start him in week two and then he's not gonna be back 16 Tarry
targets, 12 receptions, 117 yards for Jackson Smith and Jigb.
You're going to start J.S.N. in week three.
Let's see.
Where are the Seahawks in week three?
They play against the dolphins, who their season's basically over.
So.
Yeah, I would.
Yeah, Kater, Kehue has been, you know, that's a decent matchup.
And Khalil Shakir caught all five of his targets with that matchup last week.
All right.
Let's keep on buzzing through fans.
Tennessee Points podcast. Hey, do us a favor. Leave us a nice review, five stars or whatever the app you're
listening to this on offers, but then also go over to that YouTube page. Yeah, help us out.
Geez, Louise. Go to that YouTube page, hit subscribe. It'll do the world good for us as well.
Hey, how about the JETS Jets, Jets? They had to fight to beat this Tennessee Titans team on
Sunday. Will Levis made one of the worst plays I've ever seen as a quarterback do. He's like running
around. He's getting sacked. He's up in the air and then like tries to flip the ball while going upside
down. It was a mess. There's a great meme of Brian Callahan, his head coach just screaming,
what the F are you doing out there? Was he really screaming it? Oh yeah. It's a great. You can,
you see a mouthing it. What the F are you doing out there? Yeah, Will Levis is an absolute number.
skull. I mean, he is a meathead. Yeah, he doesn't know what that way he's doing out there.
They got to find somebody else. But for the Jets, hey, Breece Hall, what an, welcome, welcome
to the party here. 14 carries 62 yards. And then through the air catches a touchdown. Also,
with seven for 52. So nice day for him. But look at this. Braylon Allen getting in the mix
with a pair of touchdowns. So the Jets on the day, again, we have two.
games to go when we were recording this.
The Jets have two top seven
running backs on the week. Incredible.
I mean, that's total fluky. No one's starting Braylon
Allen, but just goes to show.
Nate Hackett. I wonder if it's Nate Hackett's
influence. Oh, got to get another guy in there.
Let's try and screw up Bruce Hall's
timing and tear his ACL again.
I don't know. Maybe Hackett's influence is minimalized.
But hey, Breland Allen did look good.
I mean, he's a big dude. He kind of looks shot
out of a cannon for
who he is. I had a good show
in the preseason. Man, can you imagine those people who took CMC and passed on Briseau?
Ooh boy. I mean, lesson learned. Be an agist. Period. Period. But you know what? And I apologize for
talking about freaking Tyler Conklin because who knows, maybe Rogers, he's a complicated
fella. Maybe he's not into him. Maybe it's Meathead Nate Hackett. But I know it's only two games,
but there's nothing else here other than Garrett Wilson and Brice Hall in a passing game.
That's it.
Yeah.
On the other side, Tadier Spears had a bit of an ankle.
We'll have to watch that.
Tony Pollard, again, leads the way 17 carries 62 yards, also caught five for 40.
So Tony Pollard, getting it done out there.
I mean, he is a guy.
You got probably middle to late rounds of your draft, and you can start him every week at Flex or RB2.
And Tony Pollard's coming through for you.
So, yeah.
I don't know if the coaches are, I don't know if the coaches are lying to us or it's just a fluid situation where he's literally taking the ball and running with it. Spears's injury does not hurt. But yeah, right now, Pollard looks like the pick that I like Spears. He was coming later. But as I keep mentioning, he was being drafted later. But as I keep mentioning, it seemed like Spears got to be such a hot commodity that I found myself actually drafting Pollard late in the year because it was fallen so far. Let's keep cruising through some games here. This was a tough watch. Commanders win on a.
a late field goal 21-18 over the now 0-2 giants.
Man, I watched this game closely, John, because I have Jaden Daniels as my fantasy quarterback
in a few leagues.
There was, I'm not even kidding you, like five possessions where the commanders had the ball
inside the 10-yard line and went backwards because of pre-snap penalties.
I'm like, oh, this is great.
I've never seen a more inept team in the red zone than the commanders were this week.
It was ridiculous how bad they were.
Jaden Daniels 23 of 29 for 226.
Doesn't throw any touchdowns though because again they're inept in the red zone and on the ground 10 for 44.
So kind of you take what you can get here, right?
With Jaden Daniels, it's the good and the bad.
I think the only thing we can count on in the passing game is freaking Zach Ertz.
You know, I kind of joked around for a couple of months like, oh, yeah.
And old man, Zach Ertz will probably be like the tight end nine through week five.
then he'll get hurt.
So we'll shall see, but he catches all four of the targets,
spreading the ball around a little bit.
Freaking McLaurin, I thought, would do something.
Oh, and he did.
He caught six balls for 22 yards.
Terrible.
I mean, you know, it's just kind of similar to what we just said.
Like, in terms of, like, weekly starters you feel good about at this point,
I know it's only two games.
I say the DC commanders have zero of them, zero.
Ed receivers.
It's bad.
And on the other side, Malik Neighbors, holy smokes, look at this game.
And remember, you asked me last week, you go, ah, you're still in on your guy, Malik Neighbors.
Well, Malik Neighbors, all he did was go out there and get 18 targets, caught 10 for 127 in his first NFL touchdown.
There were only four players on the Giants who even had a target today.
The other guys combined had nine, and Malik Neighbors had 18.
I don't know if they can continue this when they start playing better teams because the commander's
are kind of a joke, John, but good to see Malik neighbors really take that alpha role.
No doubt. And hey, good to take full advantage of a matchup. I mean, I had them at 10 at wide
receiver this week. I had them over like big names like Rishi Rice and others, Mike Evans, you know.
So I fully expected that and good to see it happen. And we were talking this morning about
Wondell. Like, yeah, Wondell was like the hot read last week.
He's dead.
Now, he does score.
He's not dead.
But yeah,
Neighbors is doing really well.
I just worry about the volatility in general.
But obviously,
as long as he's just use them.
Don't even ask.
We got a bunch of neighbors calls this morning on the live stream.
I pretty much told everyone to go neighbors.
I had one of his props.
I actually like Singletary a little bit in the game too.
But yeah,
here's another one.
Nothing going on.
It's neighbors.
Singletary.
Pretty much that's it.
Yeah. We didn't mention Brian Robinson on the other side.
You know, for you folks who have a man. But good game.
17 for a buck 33. He probably had, I got to look the numbers up. He probably had seven carries inside the 10 yard line and couldn't punch it in.
He probably got tackle it at the one or the two a half dozen times. I will say Echler looks good.
He looks pretty good. Yeah, Echler, eight for 38 on the ground, caught three for 47.
He's not toast. He's definitely not toast.
Well, you know who is toast?
the LA Rams.
Yikes.
41 to 10.
They get hammered by Kyler Murray and Arizona Cardinals.
Remember everybody talking this week and all these analytics bros, John, about Marvin Harrison,
Jr.
And he's slow and he can't run and blah, blah, blah.
And he goes out and has two touchdowns in like the first seven minutes of the game and just runs by Tradavius White, which I mean, I could do at this point.
Tradavis White's kind of cooked.
But Tradavius White, or, actually, yeah.
Marvin Harrison, Jr.
Catches four of eight targets for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
So just a monster day.
James Connor crushing as he does,
21 carries for 122 yards and a score.
Your guy, Trey Benson.
I mean, what are we doing it?
John 11 carries for 10 yards.
What the hell was that?
But, hey, good day all around for Arizona.
They beat the crap out of the Rams.
And you see James Connor, it's like he's back there.
They block it up.
There's all kinds of space for him.
he's out there just gashing them uh 5.8 yards of carry and then tray benson we're literally
busting out a ruler to measure his yard it's like what i mean that's like i mean the guy's got
he moves really well but it's not just the physical it's the mental and clearly he he's missing
holes his vision is not very good right now but connor's just unbelievable yeah
and tramey bride does hey thank god for that fumble recovery
We'll take it.
But yeah, Marvin Harrison, I got to tell you,
I literally had like an outer body flashback
watching that second touchdown.
The camera closes in on Marvin
and you see that smile
and it's the same smile as his father.
And I remember week one of 1996
because I was a big Marvin Harrison senior guy.
He scored and I had direct TV.
wherever I was I saw it and they zoomed in I saw and it was like wow that was surreal to me
that's the first time I've seen I mean I covered Kevin Lockett and Tyler you know so and you know
that's been cool but there's something about this Harrison that just just to do it so early in the
career you know what I mean yeah he is he is really really talented he's he's he's a top
seven talent already at receiver in the National Football League.
And they're peppered him with targets. It's Harrison. It's McBride. Forget everybody else.
Murray with a great day, 266 yards, three passing touchdowns. On the other side, John, my God,
the Rams have no one on offensive line. Cooper Cup goes down with an ankle injury.
We don't know if he's going to return anytime soon. Pooka Naku is out for a month, month and a half.
So now we're looking at DeMarcus Robinson,
2-2-at-well, my guy Jordan Whittington,
who I think might be the best pickup of all these guys.
You know, everyone was talking up, Ty Johnson.
He goes two for 20.
Geez, this receiving corps is dead.
Don't look now, but Blake Corum got eight carries this week to Kyron's 12.
Yeah, I mean, that probably happened late,
but yeah, they're in trouble.
They've had those O-line problems.
Note boom on IR, the other guy, the guard on IR too.
so it all happens real quickly.
I would still go Ty Johnson,
but DeMarcus Robinson is probably the safer, steadier guy.
But this Cup thing, man,
this is eerily similar to the McCaffrey stuff
because it's like,
I just have like just an ominous feeling.
Why are we risking it?
I mean, it's a little different with Cooper Cup.
You know, he wasn't a number one pick.
You know, he was decent.
It wasn't huge risk.
I mean, there wasn't a payoff,
but I was still out.
Because I had heard before we went into last year that, you know, this ankle thing is,
I had somebody medically explained it to me, like, it's going to be, it's probably chronic,
and it's going to be a problem for the rest of his career, and it's going to probably end it prematurely.
That's what I had heard.
So I preached caution last summer for, what, six weeks?
I looked like an idiot, and then boom, he's done.
And then now here we are again.
I mean, it's very worsen that you're worried about these situations,
and here we are it's September 15th,
and it feels gloomy already with CUP.
It's definitely gloomy already with CMC.
Yeah, how about our guy?
Let's move on to Pittsburgh and Denver.
The Steelers are 2-0.
Justin Fields.
I believe he's led one touchdown drive in two weeks,
and he's 2-0 as a starter,
and it went to Darnell Washington this week.
You know, George Pickens had one call back,
You know, he had penalty after penalty.
Ends with two for 29.
The guy probably should have had like 90 yards and a touchdown.
Yeah.
But I love the usage for Pickens.
It just, you know, it didn't happen today.
But otherwise, Justin Fields, you know,
Justin Fields doing what he does, 117 yards, runs around a little bit,
gets you 27 yards on the ground.
Naji goes for 69, Warren in the mix with 42 yards.
They win ugly.
That's how Pittsburgh plays.
69.
69.
69.
Nice.
I think Fields is going to hold the job.
I'm naming him the starter.
I have no say in the matter.
Because that's Mike Tomlin's job,
but I am naming him the starter.
Russ Wilson,
it's over.
He's dead because you got a couple of one-reed quarterbacks.
Might as well go with the younger guy
who's got way more to offer with his legs.
I mean,
Fields probably not as good as Russ Wilson
in terms of downfield throwing,
but he does throw a good catchable downfield.
football and he definitely seems to have a chemistry and a thing with George Pickens so there's
you're right he could have Pickens could have had he had a couple of them called back right I saw
one of them for like 30 that or it just missed it yeah I mean there's not much to feel great about
did get Jalen Warren back involved I still think you can you know certainly consider both of those
guys because they're going to run a lot but other than Pickens I'm still not buying
fry meath but that's two decent games in a row I
Hey, could be worse.
Well, Denver, on the other hand, I mean, what are we going to do?
Bow Nix is garbage.
This team's a complete fraud.
Maybe it's just Sean Payton's a fraud.
But you can't start any of these guys.
You can't start Giovante, 11 for 17 on the ground.
You know, Josh Reynolds is their leading receiver.
He goes four for 93.
You go, well, where's Cortland Sutton?
He got one ball for 26.
Joey Porter Jr. is a stud.
But, you know, what's going to happen?
Next week, Denver goes and plays Tampa Bay.
who's setting the world on fire i'm calling right now on the show denver's going to win that game john
why not that's the nf l yeah yeah i will say josh reynolds i i did pick him up in one super skank league
because look they they don't they don't like mims they just don't like mims no you know it's bad when
you got little jordan humphrey out there uh so in a skank league he's okay but hey giovante caught
five balls though and where's jaleel mclaughlin did he get hurt well not that i know of
I saw Tyler Beatty out there.
So, you know, I know Javante's tough to swallow.
You look at 11 for 17.
There's a lot of teams out there not running the ball that well.
But I think it's fairly encouraging that Javante, you know, gets 16 touches.
And he does get, you know, you got double digit points, barely.
It's pretty bad.
But, hey, better than nothing.
You know, what was running the ball pretty well was Isaiah Pacheco for the Chiefs.
They're 26-25 winners over the Cincinnati Bengals.
If you watched the end of that game,
you know how it's however Kansas City game ends,
a penalty in their favor and they kick a field goal to win.
That's a story for another day.
Pacheco, though, does John limp off and was seen on crutches after the game.
He had 90 yards rushing on the day,
which brings up an interesting question.
Who do you think would then take over for him?
Because our listeners are going to go to the waiver wire.
And for my money, I think it's Carson Steele, the fullback, you know, the white kid with the long, flowy hair.
They're not going to have P. Ryan running the ball through the middle.
And CEH is nowhere to be found.
Yeah.
I mean, I think it would be a committee.
I still would have to go P. Ryan for the past catching work.
You know, think about what McKinnon has done.
You know, McKinnon was pretty impactful down the stretch there.
What, 2022, 2021, minimal touches.
You're not going to get the volleyball.
volume with Pacheco, but I think I'd probably go there.
But yeah, I mean, strong seems to be someone or steel seems to be someone that they like.
I had a Carson strong flashback there.
Yeah, where the hell is CEH?
Is he's on, he's on an IR?
Yeah, he's got some sort of, he's having like a mental thing going on.
Okay.
So, yeah, we hope the best for him, but, you know, he's not there right now.
So we can't, we can't worry about him for our fantasy teams.
But, yeah, we wish the best for CEH.
So, yeah, we'll see what happens with Pacheco.
I'm going Piron.
Yeah.
I added a good and pass pro.
Like, he'll catch three balls a game, you know, for like 27.
And, you know, maybe we'll get a couple carries if he can score.
I mean, that's a big ask, I guess.
I mean, it's close, but I'd probably go Piron.
You talked McKinnon.
He might be the guy.
You never know.
He'll come off the couch.
How about a nice catch for Rishi Rice down the left side line?
he went five for 75, including that long touchdown.
That was nice to see.
Other than that, not a lot.
You know, hey, we were talking Xavier Worthy and what a stud he was.
Cam Taylor Britt talked smack on him and then shut him down,
two for 17 and had a, you know, highlight real interception right in his face.
So not a great day from a Holmes either, 151 yards, two touchdowns and also two picks.
No, no pick, no pick.
I mean, not good, yeah.
It's just like yet another example.
Oh, what's not?
you thought Xavier Worthy was unstoppable and you got to start him every week.
Think again.
He's going to crap the bed and he's going to give you 3.7 points this week and a PPR.
Good luck next week.
Yeah.
That's a tough one.
The Bengals.
You know what's tough is Travis Kelsey.
That's tough.
I mean, this is one for five.
What?
I mean, this is a season ruiner right here for those who took them.
he did have a big play call back but this is wow one for five you might as well go pick up
like josecchi josecchi had seven i actually kind of called i actually kind of called that in my
sunday uh i i didn't have any confidence in anyone else now yosevich gets two damn touchdowns on
seven yards but and look at chase scores twice i'm like if anyone's going to do something it's probably
going to have to be gaseki believe it or not i know i wrote that actually yes
Yeah, he was my reach play of the game.
Pulled that one out of my, you know what, not what we would trust him.
But Burtain Burtain Burtain did make a big play.
And a deep, deep super skank league.
I might pick him up.
I picked him up in the FPI because I lost Hollywood Brown.
That's, you know, that's a skank league.
Oh, big time skankly.
Yo Chavez came through for all you DFS bros out there who are starting them at his price, you know,
with the two catches for seven, but both went for touchdowns.
And, you know, Zach Moss, 12 for 34.
He'll have better days against not as stout of a defense.
And Chase Brown still getting the mix a little bit.
No targets for him, though.
No targets.
No.
What about Chase?
What the hell?
Four for 35.
This guy's killing us the last two weeks.
Rusty, you know, was arguing got a unsportsman-like penalty.
Burrow had to calm him down.
He was a little spoiled and titled, that's for sure.
Still embroiled in his contract.
Yeah, the vibes are not good.
I don't know, you know, their own two, that we're used to them kind of climbing out of these holes.
I don't know, man.
The vibes are not great.
O and two start for the Bengals, 2 and 0 start for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Next week, the Chiefs go to Atlanta to play.
The Falcons, the Bengals, hopefully get things going.
They are the Monday night game against the commanders.
So we don't record this on Monday, so we don't know what happened in the Eagles Falcons game.
Hopefully, Jalen Hertz and the birds.
out AJ Brown.
Skinny Batman, Devante Smith went off.
Congratulations, Skinny Batman.
What a great game you had in week two.
All right.
Any other, before we get out of here, John, any overarching thoughts from week two as people
go into their waiver wires in week three?
Maybe they're 0 and 2 and they're kind of down on themselves.
And they're like, oh, geez, my season's already over.
Oh, boy.
I mean, I have so many pieces of advice because everything's just all over the map.
I would say don't assume anything.
Try to be careful with massive risk taking in this chaotic league.
if you're 0-2 and feeling
bad, you know,
you're screwed.
No.
I'm not panicking yet at O-N-2.
O-N-2 is not panic mode yet.
Maybe O-N-4 is full kind of mode?
You can grind at O-N-2.
Look at all these injuries just today.
Cooper Cup goes down.
Amon-Rah goes down.
Justin Jefferson goes down.
There is ample opportunity on the waiver wire.
And who knows,
maybe just sitting on your bench and you can plug some guys in and their time comes.
So just keep grinding out there and keep setting those lineups.
Maybe Lady Luck will find you in week three.
Yeah, yep, yep.
And I will report.
I was already wrong about Nico Collins against the Bears.
Nico Collins is bawling the F out this year.
I mean, he is, wow, he is really feeling it this year.
And, you know, going back to last year, certainly that helps when you have a quarterback who's awesome.
You know, they're looking good here.
Stroud is distributing that ball back there.
They've got that weaponry.
They're going to be tough, man, the AFC.
Dare I say, there's a team that could beat the Chiefs.
Yeah, because Cincinnati's looking kind of crappy.
But the bills, they're 2 and 0 as well.
