Hey, what's up? It's John Hansen. And coming up on the latest edition of the Fantasy Points podcast,
Brian Drake and I go around the league, recap all the action that went down in week number three,
like my Minnesota Vikings kicking ass, protecting their asses off for Sam Darnold. We talk about
the skanktastic battle between Caleb Williams and Anthony Richardson. That and much, much more.
So hang tight, get ready for hashtag analysis and early thoughts on week number three here on the Fantasy Points podcast.
And as always, thanks for liking and subscribing and you're welcome.
All across the fantasy universe, welcome to the Fantasy Points podcast Monday Recap Edition.
What's up, everybody?
I'm Brian Drake.
Glad to be back in the saddle after my little vacation out to Kansas City.
No, I didn't see Taylor Swift or Jackson Mahomes, but my Uber driver did tell you.
me that he drove Jackson to Homes one time to Patty's house and dropped him off at the gate.
But that's neither here nor there.
Let's bring in the man of the hours.
The guru.
It's the king of the props.
John Hanson.
What's up, brother?
How's your week three treating you?
How many props are we hitting today?
Oh, we're doing well.
It was a pretty good week of propage, although I take a lot of time to look at my top five once.
I mean, that's like the end of the day.
Like, how many props are playing?
A handful, right?
So I'm like, all right, I want to narrow it down to the top five.
I was one Devon H.N. Yard receiving away from a perfect five in a week, but I'll take four and one. A bunch of other good calls. No doubt about it. I take a lot of stances, but pretty good week. I mean, definitely some buzz kills, of course, as always. But, you know, one theme and there are a million themes. There are, you know, seasons within a season. There are various themes. But, you know, one thing that I'm kind of notices.
the obvious doesn't seem to happen.
I mean, sometimes it does,
but in many cases, like Daniel Jones,
I thought, wow, I don't know if Daniel Jones
is going to be able to handle Miles Garrett in the brows.
And now Garrett was sick and all that.
I did like Cooper.
I actually had him as a prop, and he went off.
We did talk about that.
I actually said that on our live stream on Sunday morning
that you watch you're going to feed him the ball
in the first drive, and then boom,
he had a 24-yard touchdown pass like 30.
player the game or something like that very very early i wasn't correct about malik neighbors he
crushed it again uh but you know it's there's an example of i was actually right because i loved
wondale and i went over his prop and he did kind of crush it seven for on uh eight targets but
daniel jones played really really well a lot of people were just expecting cj stroud to cruise on in there
and to Minnesota and play well.
I wasn't seeing that.
You know, so there's, there were a lot of things.
There are a lot of things that, you know,
the obvious answer would be the Sam Darnold would turn into a pumpkin.
But no, he got the four toddies.
So we got to keep digging and look, look deep and think these things through, you know,
which I do.
And, you know, got a lot, got more right than wrong this week, but always get wrong stuff wrong.
Like, frickin't the Andre Swift.
Like, what the hell was I thinking going into him with a.
prop against indie you know he got 13 carries which is in bed one point five he stinks he
does but i did nail that i did nail that col comet uh love if if you read my stuff on sunday you
watched the live stream he was one of my top five props it just kind of came to me when i'm
researching i'm like you know what this is going to be a freaking commette game and boom 11 targets
are you kidding 10 catches 97 actually a pretty good damn pretty damn good game for calip william
puts it up 52 times.
But another wild week in the National Fake-You-Out League.
We'll break it all down.
Yeah, so we're going to go through game by game
in our little Monday extravagans that we do here.
And again, we don't have the fantasy points data.
Our charters are working on that.
We get that a little later in the weeks.
We're kind of going off just some rudimentary snap numbers
and some different shares we get across the NFL.
So we'll shout out some of those folks
who are giving us the information when we get to them.
Let's get over to this Giants win in Cleveland.
I didn't see this one coming.
I'd say that, John.
2115 Giants win.
Devin Singletary, a really good game.
He was someone in drafts.
We were telling people over at FantasyPoints.com, listen, it's not sexy.
It's not great, but you're getting a starting running back way late in the draft.
He goes 16 for 65 in a touchdown.
Actually slides down at the one yard line would have had another touchdown.
And his numbers are just, it's incredible, you know, what you're getting out of Devin
Singletary.
And, you know, really the story of this game, Malik neighbors, John.
This kid's already the top wide receiver in fantasy football.
12 targets, eight receptions, 78 yards, and two scores.
I've been on this kid all year long.
If you snapped them up, maybe you got them in the fourth round of your draft.
My God, you've got to be sitting pretty.
So what did you think of the Giants today?
Well, Daniel Jones, they had a very good game plan.
They protected well.
The Brown's D didn't really show up.
They don't travel, I guess, as well.
They don't play as well on the road.
Miles Garrett was a little sick.
you know neighbors the the the one one play he made the 28 yard it was ridiculous like man he is
insanely talented which again i never disputed here's the thing though i understand anybody like
you you know you want a victory lap now that's great but but my thing was like are we real yeah
are we really really i won't victory lap early if if it was a player that no one really thought
was really good you know that's maybe a little different
We'll see if we can make it through the whole year.
But right now, the trajectory is going well.
I mean, they're coming off the best game of the year by far.
Brian Dayball, you know, all skinny out there.
Can't even recognize the freaking guy.
But yeah, I'm trying to look at single.
I can't remember Singletary was on my list or not.
But I know in our cheat sheet, we did have him over his ADP at least.
Daniel Bellinger's dead, even though he did have a 17-yard catch.
And again, Wondale against a good defense is a pretty good play.
I liked them this week.
I didn't like him last week.
You could do worse, you know, in a deeper league
because they're not really throwing it to anybody else here.
And they're not really,
even though Tyrone Tracy got a few carries,
not really nothing else going on in that backfield,
but Singletary got 20 touches.
Amari Cooper, again, you got to feed him early.
That's good.
The other guys kind of went away.
I'm glad I didn't really trust Judy or Elijah Moore at all.
You know, Foreman got screwed over a little bit
because they, I thought they,
be, you know, in control, but he's done if they were playing from behind, which they were,
which worked out in Ford's favor.
So he's clearly the safest guy.
But Watson, you know, he completed 21 balls, but from what I saw, it wasn't very good.
The protection wasn't good.
Obviously, he got sacked all those times.
Like, what the hell happened?
Didn't they get their two starting tackles back?
That was a terrible performance by their own line.
Yeah, it was brutal.
The Giants were in that backfield all day long.
I'm trying to pull up here the number of six.
sacks here. I mean, look at the, there's like eight. Yeah, I'm looking at all the sacks here.
I mean, one, two, three, four, five, six. I mean, a million guys here got to
Deshaun Watson. Hey, kudos to the Giants. They went on the road. They're not a great team,
but they showed up and boy, the Browns. I got to give it up to our guy, the Miz. Like,
this is brutal. This was supposed to be a team with Super Bowl aspirations. You know,
John, at what point, if you're the Browns, do you kind of say, I mean, do you ever sit down
Deshawn Watson? I mean, I don't know. You got nothing behind him,
But this guy doesn't give you a chance to win.
Yeah, I mean, I can't really sit here and point a finger on them right now
because, you know, the protection was really bad, but you're right.
They don't really have anybody else.
Well, they do have James.
I mean, that's the thing.
Like, you know, they don't have anybody else for the long term.
Maybe you're talking more long term.
I'm in DTR, I guess.
But, yeah, they're screwed.
They're really, they're weak to week.
And you still can't trust Watson.
At least we got a Marty Cooper back.
and we'll see about Najoku.
I wasn't into Najoku this year, though,
because I thought Watson would kind of mess them up,
which is only one game.
But yeah, I'm just week to week.
It's complete week to week.
This, by the way, this was a good matchup.
The Giants pass rush is middling.
They do play a lot of man,
which is usually good for Watson and Cooper.
And their corners are very, very beatable.
Now, again, that's why I liked Cooper.
Cooper got them.
But nothing else.
So it's very underwhelming.
Let's keep rolling along here.
This is a game of two halves right here.
Indianapolis against the Bears.
Indianapolis wins 2116.
Jonathan Taylor, what a game for him.
He was the guy that you were all over, John.
You wanted people to take him at the end of the first round in fantasy drafts.
He goes for 110 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
It catches a ball as well.
But man, oh, man, if you're starting Anthony Richardson,
he does nothing for you.
goes 10 of 20 for a buck 67 with two interceptions on the ground only gives you 24 yards.
That's what you're hoping for them.
You're thinking, hey, maybe he's going to give me 60, 70 yards and score.
So he's really a buzzkill for you.
I know as someone who starts Jaden Daniels and I start Richardson in another league, John,
I'm kind of looking around now like, gee, is there somewhere else I can go here?
I don't trust these young guys in Richardson.
And on the other side, you know, you mentioned in the open, Caleb Williams,
33 of 52 for 363 and two scores also throws a pair of picks.
I mean, they scored some points in the second half here.
But if you're watching the beginning of this game,
everyone's calling for Shane Waldron's head.
It's just a terrible offense.
They can't run the football.
Swift is awful, 13 for 20.
Roshan Johnson's back.
He only averages 3.8 yards of carry John.
But I think when people go to waiver wires this week,
Roshan Johnson is a name that they're going to be trying to dig up
because Swift is abysmal.
They gave him all that money.
He sucks.
He sucks.
Yeah.
I mean, in some ways, I was thinking that, you know, the NFL is, we're all paying the price
because they kind of made a deal with the devil by embracing this BS, fake you out, you know,
game of deception with the zone read and all that stuff.
And, you know, adopting the college game, which I don't know if that was lazy.
craziness, complacency, or they just could not get these young guys to pick up these, you know, pro concepts or whatever.
So they all have kind of invited this into the league over the last 15 years and we're all paying the freaking price.
You know, I don't know if 20 years ago defenses started, you know, playing a lot more zone and two deep safeties.
If these quarterbacks were going to be perplexed and baffles, no, no, they would have figured it out.
But these guys, for the most part, are not good at all.
Like, they stink.
So maybe in some ways we're kind of, we made a deal with the devil.
And now we're paying the price and the quarterback play is down, scoring is down.
Everything is down.
Everything is freaking down.
And meanwhile, meanwhile, you have defensive coaches in the NFL who have been studying how to stop all this stuff.
And it's their job just to be good, a good pro football.
defensive coach and it's like they i feel like they have an advantage because they're they're
defending against inferior football basically and they know it they know it so i mean maybe that's i
know i'm probably going off on a freaking tangent here but i always kind of think about the the
way the NFL just kind of for it kind of got forced on and they kind of embraced all this stuff you know
there was a time when kailer murray bry brys young they would have been laughed out of the first round
But no, not now.
Not now we're taking these guys, often paying the price.
But yeah, Anthony Richardson is a catastrophe right now,
which doesn't make any sense because Shane Steichen's track record is pretty good,
going back to Philly and Jalen Hertz.
They spread the ball around.
Like Pierce is commanding targets.
A.D. Mitchell, I said he was going to be a joke of a pick
and look good in week one, but now it doesn't.
Pitman's dead.
Yeah, it's not great.
Taylor, it's Taylor.
That's it.
It's it.
Great news if you have Taylor.
By the way, I had Taylor at six on my PDF cheat sheet.
So his ADP was 13, but I had his ass at six because he was one of the flawless four.
Josh Downs returns this week.
He sees five targets, three for 22.
You know, if he's on your waiver wire, maybe a guy you want to pick up, I know he's got a good rapport with Anthony Richardson.
Yeah.
And Richardson needs that to move the sticks, all that.
Stop looking for a big play and all that.
it was a tough watch for Caleb.
I know he put it up 52 times and had the numbers look really gaudy.
But again, you lost the game and it was pretty ugly in the first half.
How about Roma Dunzei and Cole Comette, 11 targets apiece?
Yeah, that was crazy.
I mean, Roma Dunzee, that would be a player.
I was like mocking for the ADP.
And I'm like, God, you are just assuming that Keenan Allen's going down.
All right.
Well, and I did say, yeah, it could be a safe assumption.
If and when.
Yeah, you're looking good here.
Cole Komet, showing signs.
I mean, they all came through, but again,
Caleb Williams isn't going to throw it 52 times.
But then again, if they don't figure out how to block it up a little bit better for the running game
and get a little bit more efficiency from the running game, they might have no choice.
So, Adunzee looking good.
Commet is, I think you look at them.
I mean, again, I'm trying to see where I had them because I saw this coming.
I did write about this on the Sandsonsons.
and had him in my prop article.
I just kind of just doing the research, I'm like, wow, you know, I even looked up to
coverage shells.
I'm like, yeah, it's happening.
Boy, it sure did.
And he's a good player.
You know, he's a very, very good player.
And he's starting to click with Caleb.
Yeah, he was one of my top matchups to exploit.
Even though the Colts hadn't given up much to the position yet, I just saw the coverage
shell cover three.
And I'm like, yeah, this is it.
They're going to do it.
And it happened.
I did also like DeAndre Swift, but we talked about him.
He, in fact, he sucks.
I mean, he's bad.
He's really bad.
And he was bad last year in Philly, right?
I mean, he opened his season, as predicted.
Oh, he's going to be pretty good.
But he really did fade, I thought.
And now he's just a bum, basically.
I'm not trying to be too hard on him.
But, man, it's painful.
Yeah, Roshan Johnson paid in his return 38% of
the snaps and 13 of 21 third downs he was on the field for.
So interesting.
Let's watch that.
I'm sure he's going to be on the waiver wire list over at fan.
Why do they dick around with Rochon, though?
Why do they dick around with him?
Last year they kept doing this too.
Like he's up, he's down, he's in, he's out.
You know what I mean?
Like I sat down with Rochon Johnson.
That is a serious young man.
It's like talking to a 40-year-old man, that guy.
I'm sure he's not a problem in any way, shape, or form.
So I don't know what the hell their issue is with him,
but you're right.
I mean, he's their best pass protector.
He's a better runner than Swift.
He's a better short-yardage guy than...
So what is Swift?
Like, they need his juice.
I get it, but he has no juice.
He's overpriced.
He's like two yards of carry.
They paid him all that money to come over.
He was the first guy signed in free agency when it opened up,
and now you're kind of stuck with him.
You know, we've got to keep this guy on the field.
Hey, last thing on this game,
Colcomat 10 for 97 and a touchdown late.
Tight end, John, is a freaking wasteland.
Porter and McBride got banged up today.
Everyone stinks.
Is Cole Komet worth a shot on the waiver wire?
Yeah, I think so.
I mean, he's, I know he's a little boring, but, you know, he's, he's good.
I mean, what else can we say?
He's good.
I mean, the guy is fairly athletic.
It seems to come up in big moments, you know, it doesn't drop a lot of balls, you know.
I mean, he's kind of, you know, can do it in line.
Yeah, I had him in my top 12 this week.
I don't know where everybody else had him, but I had him at 11.
So I was kind of feeling that this week.
I know what else you're going to be.
You're going to be feeling this on the other side of the break.
John's Vikings are 3 and 0, folks.
Three and oh, my God.
Sam Darnold for MVP.
Don't go anywhere.
It's Fantasy Points podcast.
All right, guys, welcome back in.
John, you've got to just be jumping for joy down there at your new Palatial Estate.
The Minnesota Vikings are 3 and 0.
I mean, I didn't see this coming at all.
They handed it to the Houston Texans and C.J. Stroud today.
Sam Darnold completes 17 of 28 for a buck 81.
That's again, no one's going to write home about that.
Four touchdowns on the day.
Four.
Spread it all around.
Justin Jefferson.
Aaron Jones had a receiving touchdown.
My guy Jalen Naylor picked him up and started him.
And even Johnny, don't call me Ronnie Munt got into the end zone.
What are you thinking of your boys in purple today, man?
Well, you know, number one, every time I turned on the game or Red Zone went to the game,
Sam Darnold's back to pass, and the Viking O line is protecting their asses off.
So, I mean, that is that is it right there alone.
Like Sam Darnold is a guy that, you know, he's a little bit of a slow blinker.
And you watch him and you know he's athletic.
He can snap it off pretty well.
You're like, if he could just get an extra.
second and a half in the pocket because the longer he's back there and he takes a little bit longer
to process everything he does tend to panic and all that so and look you got to give credit to
boy my boy darnel mooney is bowling out there on sunday night football as we record this by the way
you got a you got to you know protect this guy and all of a sudden it's it's a good scheme
Kevin O'Connell is proven good.
You know, I was unimpressed after year one,
but over the last couple of years now, this year too,
especially, I'm like, okay, I've definitely seen enough.
So, yeah, I mean, this great old line protecting them really well,
giving him that extra second and a half,
you have a stud in Jefferson, you've got a great scheme, it's all happening.
And then the defense, I mean, what else can I say?
I've been a Brian Flores guy from day one.
I love Brian Flores.
Unbelievable.
They're the best coach team in the league right now.
And when you're looking at it's kind of crazy to say,
but they might be the second best team in football right now.
Wow.
Yeah, they're playing very well.
Who's better than them?
Who can you make a strong argument?
Maybe Detroit.
Other than them.
That's what I said.
They're like the second best team other than Kansas City.
You know, I mean, maybe Detroit, sure.
It's going to be fun here.
It's going to be fun to see the Vikings come down the road.
Big stumble for the Texans here on the road because, you know, it was a game where you
didn't have Joe Mixen, so I know a lot of you guys out there, myself included, said,
hey, can we put Cam Acres into our lineup, John?
And nine for 21 on the ground is terrible.
You got lucky.
He saved your ass with a receiving touchdown.
The only guy to get in the end zone for Houston.
But I'll say this.
All the receivers, even though they didn't score, kind of came through for you.
Steph Diggs, 10 for 94.
And a PPR, that's a 19 point day.
Nico Collins, four for 86.
You'll take it on a down day.
The guy, though, I'm wondering about Tank Dell.
Like, we just can't seem to get him going.
He seems to be that odd man out every week.
Yeah, I mean, Steph, it's like, Nico is the alpha who can't be stopped and has great chemistry
with Straub.
Yeah.
Diggs is like, basically he's kind of taken over for Dalton Schultz,
that underneath over the middle outlet guy, volume-based guy.
And then, so Del is kind of stuck in the middle a little bit.
I mean, he's probably getting more, you know, definitely more downfield looks.
I could have sworn I saw a couple downfield looks, maybe a can't miss play here and there.
Yeah, I mean, I did see this coming.
I did write this up in the article that I, I,
wasn't feeling it with Stroud. I tried to lower his ranking a little bit. But yeah,
Diggs does come through, man. So you're, yeah, I mean, that's the guy that you could probably
count on second now behind Collins, definitely over Dell for now. I certainly wouldn't cut Dell.
But how about Bobby Trees? I guess this must have been late in the damn game. I didn't even see this.
Wow. How about Bobby Trees getting a couple looks here? A lot of people forgot he was even there.
Yeah, I mean, they went garbage time. Davis Mills got in and played a lot in the fourth quarter.
you know, the Texans kind of wave the white flag.
Boy, a game I watched a ton of here at home, the Eagles,
but despite Nick Siriani trying to give this game away,
go down to the Big Easy and knock off what everyone thought was,
you know, one of the best teams in football, the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints, John, scored 40 points in back-to-back games to start the season.
The Eagles hold them to 12 in the Superdome.
So it's, but it's what we always said.
Derek Carr, midnight comes.
He starts 2 and 0 like he does every year.
And then he's back into a pumpkin, make Derek Carr throw the football.
And the team is going to lose exactly what happened today.
Carr, you know, a lot of guys in DFS were plugging him in 14 of 25 for 142,
one score and an interception.
It was nice to see Alave get back in the mix, six for 86 and a touchdown.
And our guy, how about Rashid Shaheed, Goosegging us out.
here. Yeah, man. He is very, very, very volatile. Yep, Derrick Carr. I mean, he kind of got me
because I had to give him love. It was a tough call because it's a new offense and it's Kubiak.
And that coaching tree, if you will, has been unbelievable. And then you have a whole new situation here
with the new staff and a fresh star for Carr. He goes up and lights it up 40 plus points against
similar defense i may i the eagle's d gets lit up by similar offenses sorry so the eagle d weeks one and
two gets lit up by similar offenses the cars coming coming with here uh so it was it was easy to kind
of feel optimistic i did like uh alave quite a bit uh so we did get that correct uh but i also was
attaching a shahid i'm like well let's see if he can do it three times in a row he does kill zone and they're
all zone. I think you've got to give some credit to Vic Fangio. They found a way to seemingly
kind of fix everything. You know, their run defense was a lot better. The pass rush even seemed
better and they certainly seemed to cover a little bit better other than a lave. Yeah. And in this
game, both the Eagles and the Saints both lost two linemen. So at one point, the Saints were playing
without either guard.
The Eagles lost the entire right side of their line in this game.
So there was a lot of pressure up the middle.
How about Sequin Barclay at the time of our recording, number one running back on the week,
147 yards on the ground, two touchdowns, also catches four balls for nine yards.
I mean, Sequin just looks on stop about here, John.
What a beast.
He does.
He does, man.
I've never actually been a Barclay guy.
This is the first year I was a Barclay person.
And a lot of that's the O line.
A lot of that was just a good vibe for him getting out of that giant building.
It was kind of toxic.
What do you go to high school?
Like 75 miles from Philadelphia.
That's pretty close.
I actually wrote in my Sunday article,
I'm fully expecting him to rip off a big player two
after he dropped the pass to kill their chances last week.
And then boom.
It's exactly what he did.
65-yarder.
I mean, it's a beautiful thing.
I have one FFPC team where I have him and Taylor.
It's like unbelievable.
And I'm doing well despite losing like Love Ferguson, Puka and Debo.
You sound like every fan of the player in America right now.
Oh, I got one team that lost Love, Puka, Debo, Ferguson, and one of the
the guy that I'm, oh, somebody else
too. I was like, wow. Yeah, and I was like
one and one that one. But anyway, yeah.
Yeah, but he's crushing.
Did you, did, was there anything
to come out about skinny Batman? Because
that, that was nasty. Because he was,
he was about ready to crush it yet again.
Yeah, Devante Smith, 10 targets,
seven for 79, suffers
a concussion in this game. He looked
okay, though. He was like running off the field.
He was kind of with it. So the Eagles
without AJ Brown or
Devante Smith, lead
and Jalen Hertz, God bless him, because he, you know, despite his numbers, just played like absolute dog shit again.
He's just, he's Daniel Jones.
I keep he's Daniel Jones with the worst contract when you watch him out there.
It's tough sometimes.
But it's bad.
I mean, this is a bad fantasy performance, too.
I mean, guy throws for 311 yards, but no touchdowns.
It's got a pick, no tush push, doesn't run for much, only 25 yards on the day.
It came down to, it was all Sequan Barkley, and how about Dallas got her?
10 for 170, play of the game to get the Eagles down into position where Barclay ended up scoring the winning touchdown.
Without A.J. Brown, we were all wondering, like, why isn't Dallas Goddard more involved, John, in this offense?
And for him to now see 11 targets here, who knows what's going to happen with the concussion or if AJ comes back,
I mean, Dallas Garber got to probably dropped in a ton of leagues. He's got to be available.
Yeah, you know, it's funny, Adam Kaplan filled in for you on the podcast.
And I know he touched on it.
I honestly can't remember if he told me on or off the air.
But he literally said something relating to Goddard
in that like Hertz can't get him in the ball
or like won't get him the ball.
Or you know, there's a problem with Hertz and got it.
He doesn't throw the ball well in the middle of the field.
Right.
And that's definitely part of it for sure.
Maybe that's the crux of it.
but it boy it's sure and honestly
you know what is the term
necessity is a mother an invention
but they had to get something from someone
but it definitely felt like it was
let's let's fix the error here
that we've been rolling with Goddard through two weeks
and just pepper him with targets and they did scheme up
some good plays for him I mean he was wide open
the 61 yard it was maybe a bust
but I mean he looked great
shocking. He did. He did.
But, boy, Nick Siriani. My God.
That's, that's, I could do a whole podcast.
I mean, they teeter. They teeter, man.
I mean, there was a moment where I'm like,
they're going to completely implode and fire everyone
by midseason. Then they win the damn game.
By midseason, they should have fired Nick Siriani at halftime for
the shenanigans. He was pulling, going forward on four
downs. There was no need to. Then he's trying
to kick 60-yard field goals.
I digress. Eagles win.
I can, you know, just continue to drink and draw my sorrows.
But the Eagles are two and one.
All right, let's keep it rolling here.
This was a slog, I tell you.
Pittsburgh goes to 3 and O with a 20 to 10 win over the Chargers.
Justin Herbert comes into the game for L.A. with a bum ankle, leaves with a bum ankle.
So he was limping around at the end of the game.
They pull him.
In comes Taylor Heineke, and, you know, you can turn the lights out as soon as that happens.
But let's talk about the Steelers because they got to win John.
Najee Harris, 18 carries, 70 yards.
he's just he's the guy he's the offense because you know there's really they don't want to put it in
justin fields hands as much uh justin fields though he was pretty good he looked okay 245 yards
a touchdown passing an interception uh he ran one in as well i wish you would run more it's give me
six six rushing yards what we're doing here justin fields you should be running for 60 hey you know what
he completed 25 at 32 though that's that's pretty good you know yeah i mean i don't know what the hell
happen to Jalen Warren he looked good last week um i guess the game was close for most of the game
they were actually losing there for a little bit like right around midway through the game but
naji is the guy you know i wrote it up today again this is what i spend all day saturday doing
you know going through and really thinking everything through i try my best some weeks are better
than others but you know it's also a lot of common sense involved here i mean when they are when they
win, he gets it done.
But here's the thing. And when they lose, he typically has it. But here's the thing. I also wrote,
for what it's worth, Justin Fields has a 16.3% checkdown rate this year, first in the NFL,
the charges of force the most checkdowns so far. And Najee leads the Steelers and
checkdown targets. I wrote that today in the article. And what happened? He caught five of 16
often on checkdowns. So that's huge. I mean, if he's going to have that role, now you're
you're good because now you're like, oh, okay, we're going to get 20 carries and, you know, probably
four to five points a game PPR. Now if we score on the ground, we go off. Yeah, our guy Ryan Heath
from Fantasy Points had a great tweet here about this backfield. Jalen Warren had just a 3.1% target share
today to Corderole Patterson's 15.6. Are you kidding me? So I'm wondering, John, Jalen
Horn, three carries, five yards, he's not doing the past game?
Is he drop a bull in fantasy?
I mean, I don't know what to think because last week he was week two and, you know,
he had come back from the injury week one.
I thought he looked a lot better than week two.
So I would probably give it a week, but I mean, he's certainly not, you're not feeling
warm and fuzzy.
I mean, he's right there with like an Austin Echler.
I mean, okay.
He's an okay third back, but, you know, yeah, he's not a league winner and he could be a league
loser right now.
How about it, Calvin Austin?
I've always loved him.
You have.
Great, great dude.
He is electric.
I mean, if he, and I always said that me and Kaplan were on the same page with this one.
I'm like, you know what?
I know these small, tiny guys let us down, but man, he is special.
Granted, he hasn't done crap, but, you know, he's had a lot of injury stuff.
But there's what he can do for you.
And Fields has got a big arm.
I mean, it's not great for Pickens, who, you know, a little bit of a frustrating game.
I had a prop for him over.
He hit it.
I actually got over the two Harris props I played,
and they hit them both, receiving and rushing.
And I think kind of like Fryermew.
I mean, I just don't know how often we can expect fields
to support this much production in the passing game.
But, you know, we'll take it.
It was a good sign.
I love George Pickens.
Okay, I do.
But the problem is every week he's going up against some elite corners.
So, you know, this week he gets the charges.
Next week, all right.
Next week's the George Pickens week.
He's at the Colts.
So fire him up.
Then he gets Dallas.
You got the Raiders.
Then he runs into the jets.
So it's going to be real hit or miss with Georgie Pickens here.
But keep an eye on Calvin Austin because Van Jefferson left that game early.
On the other side for the Chargers, hey, it's the J.K. Dobbins show.
They've put Gus out to passers.
The Gus bus is in the garage, John.
Three carries for nine yards.
It's all Dobbins.
15 for 44.
But if Herbert's not going to.
to be in the game. Forget about it.
You know, and Quentin Johnson did score a touchdown, but there was just nothing they could do
against this Pittsburgh D. Pittsburgh might have the best defense in the NFL right now, especially
at home.
I love their fantasy D this year. Remember I said it all summer? I mean, I love their fantasy D.
They really did. They're actually not crushing it, but they're pretty good. I mean,
they're good. Like, I thought they would do a little bit more in this game, but I think they've
gotten me pretty much, I've got them in every damn league. They've got me 10 points or more
every game yeah i like lad mcconkey and i don't know how i forgot to put his prop in i can't remember
if he hit it or not i think he hit it and i freaking lost a win uh because i i wrote that because we
didn't like quentin johnston but here's the problem with that it was a bust otherwise he caught
one ball for like 12 but hey certainly a good sign for quentin johnston but we need herbert here
or else, you know, we can't really use anyone here.
But, man, that's it.
Nothing going on here.
It's high-Dan.
You're getting Simi Fahoko out there.
God bless you.
It's a little ugly out there.
It's a little ugly out there for the Chargers.
Yeah, Chargers fall into 2 and 1 after losing to the Steelers.
I think some of this 2-0 start for the Chargers,
maybe a little smoking mirrors here,
and they're going to come back down to Earth because there's not a lot of talent here on this team.
Let's take a time out.
When we come back, another team maybe who got exposed,
after a two and a start.
Stick around.
It's the Fantasy Points podcast.
All right, John, welcome back in.
This, another game that just no one picked,
probably knocked out of a lot of survival pools.
The Broncos put the wood to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26 to 7.
Bow Nicks looking like a player out here.
I mean, Bo Nicks looked like a high school player,
the first two weeks of the season.
Now he goes down and he makes Baker look like,
well, the Baker may feel.
we've kind of come to know and love.
Baker Mayfield, 25 of 33 for a buck 63 and a touchdown.
So let's start with the losing side first,
because there's a couple of good stories here.
Number one, it'd be Bucky Irving time, John.
Rashad White, he ain't it running the ball.
Bucky Irving, 9 for 70.
Average damn near eight yards of carry.
So if he's on the waiver wire, priority pickup, Bucking Irving.
Yeah, so you drafted Rashad White as your two,
and now you have to demote him on your depth chart.
and now he's your you're three i think he i still think he's a three i mean he did catch five
balls uh so it wasn't all well it wasn't a good day but he got like what just under eight points
i mean i've seen worse uh but and now you you had irving as your four or you picked him up
out of the scrap heap and now he's in that third mix too so you're elevating him yeah that's the
way it works but no doubt about it uh that that 32-yard run was was was really
Real nice. I mean, Rashad's not doing that, man. He's just not. So you've got to get explosive. Everybody needs explosives. And that's why there's going to be, you know, motivation to get him out there. So he also caught three balls, too. So he's a pretty decent receiver. I watched him in the preseason. We saw a little Kate Otten here as well, previously known as Kate Rotten because he hadn't done crap. But need to see a little bit more of that. And I just missed the damn Godwin prop. It was like 60 yards.
But, I mean, the analysis was there once again with Big Mike getting shut down,
often by percentain.
That worked out, you know.
But, you know, that was another example of you thought Denver was dead in the water
and the bucks would roll, but no, the National Fake You Out League had something to say about that.
But I would think Sean Payton and his history knowing Todd Bowles and that defense probably helped.
He probably developed, you know, came up with a really good game plan.
You know, he was dropping dimes though.
Was next down there to Sutton.
We kind of like Sutton and his chances this week because, oh, for once, he wasn't up against the shutdown corner.
He got a little Jordan out there getting more and more reps.
So forget about Josh Reynolds for now.
And forget about freaking Mims.
He's in the doghouse.
They clearly don't have any interest in him.
We got Troy Franklin out there.
And where the hell was Dulcich?
He's gone.
Wait till our guy, uh, Villay or Vile or whatever the hell his name is comes back because he's got a cracked rib.
Remember what he didn't week one?
He had like eight receptions.
So yeah, interesting.
I mean, this was just a really well-schemed up game.
And you get this sometimes in the NFL where a team just no-shows.
You know, they look past their opponent and, you know, it's kind of just, you toss it up to,
oh, yeah, remember in week three when the Broncos went down and beat the bucks?
But, yeah, it happened.
You're going to see a lot of people, they're going to look at the box score and say,
oh, this was this Tyler Beatty or whatever the hell's name, Tyson Beatty.
God, I don't even know what the hell the guy.
Bade.
Bade.
They're calling him Baday.
Oh, that's good.
I've been calling them Badi.
I've been calling them Bady.
I like Kevin Harlan, I think.
I've called him Baday.
That works better for our humor.
Let's stick with Badee.
Oh, I picked up Badee.
Now my team's in the shitter.
You know?
It's tough, man.
Like, Javante can't do anything on the ground.
Oh, my God.
He's done.
I'm sorry.
It's over.
Like, he never got, he didn't get it back.
I mean, this is a shell of the player
before the,
injury yeah that will be my contention for until the grave that Nate Hackett ruined
Javante Williams I don't I I don't see how he's coming back I mean he looks bad out
there like who boy it just he he lost I'm looking I do I do percentage
calculations just for my own whatever entertainment I guess and I'm like trying to
look at it and like I'm like he lost and he lost like he lost like
25% of his
effectiveness. He stinks. Like, he's out
there at 75%. It's
not good. Any way
you slice it. Hey, let me ask you that.
Can't move like he can't move like he used to.
You know what I mean? Like, don't you
see it? Like the juice, man,
is just not there.
You live on a razor's edge with these running backs.
And all of a sudden one day, you're like, oh,
the guy lost it. He took one step to
the other side. Now he's done. And
I think that's what's happened with Javante. You're right.
He just got zapped of all his juice.
You know who else looks after the juice is Tennessee Titans offense, John?
They get hammered 30 to 14 by the Packers.
Don't look now, but Malik Willis,
winning people DFS millions out here.
He throws for 202 in a score, runs for 73 in a score,
and the Green Bay Packers are 2 in 1.
They're 2 and 0 with Malik Willis under center.
What the hell's going on out here?
Exactly.
What the hell's going on out here?
I mean, this is what I'm saying at the top of the podcast.
you thought Malik Willis from Liberty was a joke, but oh no, Matt LaFleur and this staff have got their
hands on them and they're really smart. And all of a sudden, Malik Willis looks like a kind of a
pro quarterback in this day and age pro quarterback. Unbelievable. I mean, getting balls downfield
of Christian Watson, spreading the ball around. Like, and you know what I think of when I see this?
this is why you should be optimistic about Jordan Love.
If LaFleur and this offense can get this at a freaking Malik Willis,
think about where Jordan Love would be.
And this is why Jordan Love was my guy.
So this is why I'm saying, get Jordan Love now.
Get him now.
Because if he gets locked back into the starting lineup, of course,
and they start rolling like last year, like, that's a rocket chip.
That's 20 plus points for you every week.
that's nice, man.
Real nice, because they can't really run the ball that well, by the way.
Yeah, Emmanuel.
So they're going to have to throw for their scores.
You know, Emmanuel Wilson gets a touchdown as a receiver,
but he has 12 carries for 50 yards today, you know,
kind of in a route.
But, you know, Josh Jacobs goes 14 for 43,
kind of a letdown after last week when he had a million carries
in well over 100 years.
Titans are good on day.
Yeah.
Titans are good on day.
So I'm getting that.
But this also shows me, like, just watch for that kid Lloyd who's on IR.
for the Packers. Like I was drafting him all over
to place. I'm like, he's going to be a fact.
Like, just watch, because
they love splitting up carries here.
Let's go over quickly. Pollard
does nothing. Six for
14 yards. Real buzzkill for him.
The one story here would be DeAndre Hopkins
coming back from the dead, leading the team
in targets. It goes six for
73 and a touchdown. He looked
pretty good out there, fighting through a tackle
for a touchdown. So maybe Dee Hobbs
back. If you got him and you're dying, you need to put
them in your lineup. There's another one.
Oh, you thought D-Hop was a mummy.
You thought he was in the dirt.
I sure as hell did.
Oh, no, no, no, sorry.
He's balling.
He's back.
I mean, out of nowhere.
Maybe he needed to shake the rust off.
That's fair.
But I didn't know if he would ever,
whatever juicy lost.
I didn't know if he could get any of it back.
And just today,
he'd look like you got a decent amount of it back.
Oh, and you also thought that Pollard was the man and Spears was worthless.
Nope.
Spears gets 10 points.
and Pollard craps to bed.
So I don't know.
We're not back to square one,
but we got to pull back from Pollard now,
and now we have to go and give Spears a little bit of a nod.
So now there,
maybe Pollard's now high end three,
and Spears is a low end three.
It's tough, you know.
But here's what we do know.
Will Levis sucks.
That we know.
And I don't think he's, I mean,
not to be hot takey,
but based on people I've seen, you know,
similar, who reminiscent
of Will Levis. He's always going
to be, this is it, this is who he is,
he's always going to be erratic, he's always going to suck,
he's going to, you know, do stupid things
with mayonnaise and throw to the other team and
fumble, like he sucks. Like they've got to find
another future quarterback. Yeah. Titans
turn the ball over three times and
Buzzkill for Calvin Ridley owners
one catch for nine yards.
I mean, that's not good.
Yeah, and that's annoying because
he, so now he's so
volatile. You have to
consider the upside of the downside.
Like it's all there. It's all on the table.
Well, how do you
like the NFL? You know, last
week the Raiders come out and everyone's like,
hey, look, the Raiders are back. They're playing great.
They're going to roll Carolina who just got rid of
Bryce Young. They're going with old man
Andy Dalton. Nope, forget about it.
Panthers look like Super Bowl champs
out here. 3622 win
over the Raiders
in Vegas.
You want to talk about Back from the Dead.
Q the Undertaker meme from Twitter.
Chuba freaking Hubbard, 21 carries, 114 yards, John.
So he's kind of back.
And then Miles Sanders finds his ass in the end zone.
Like, holy smokes, we got a real offense here with Andy Dalton throwing for 319 and 3.
So welcome back.
Shout out Andy Dalton.
Good for our guy, Deontay, who goes 8 for 122 in a score.
Adam Thielen gets in the box and gets hurt.
But Chuba Hubbard, I mean, now he looks like someone you can put in your lineup.
Do you want to trade him, though, John, knowing that Jonathan Brooks lingers?
Right.
Yeah, you do.
Because Brooks could come back after their next game.
Right?
I mean, so absolutely.
I kind of like Chuberk this summer, if you can believe that.
And not that I put them on my list, but I'm pretty sure I ranked them over the ADP.
And I think it was week one or last week even.
I think it was week one where I was pretty confident.
I'm like, what the hell?
And then there it is.
It happens two weeks later.
So I'm not that surprised.
but I thought we gave Andy Dalton a little bit of love.
I mean, I actually listed them on my WaverWire article.
Kind of to prove a point.
Like, I don't even know.
Was it here where we're talking about DGAF, Andy Dalton?
How I love DGaf Andy Dalton.
Because it seemed like he early in the career was a little timid, you know, like afraid to let a rip.
And then, you know, he moved on from the Bengals, got a little older.
Now he's just like, you know, kind of unbarrel time.
I can kind of tell that.
He's like, you know what, screw it.
It's a little rip.
F it.
You know what I mean?
Like, and ironically, he's been better.
This is dating back to 2023, even beyond that, the year before that.
So it's great.
I mean, it's really unbelievable news for Deonté.
It's a great.
And of course, Dealing got hurt too.
So we'll see about that.
But man, everyone was kind of like, say, back in business.
But, you know, all of a sudden, you got a chance.
But man, just absolutely massive for Deontay.
That's why it was a good move.
I put him in the article like you should have traded for Deonté last week.
Yep.
No question about it.
One interesting nugget I did see from the Panther side is Miles Sanders played on 12 of 12 third downs.
And he also three or five snaps inside the five.
That's from my guy Dave Richard from CBS putting out all those running back numbers.
So just keep an eye on that.
We'll see if Sanders kind of becomes a de facto third downback.
But he didn't catch any balls really.
He caught two balls for 13.
Meanwhile, Chuba Hubbard goes five for 55 with a receiving touchdown.
How about on the other side, John?
It's, I mean, these Raiders, everyone's ready to anoint Brock Bowers.
He's Travis Kelsey 2.0, and he goes out and just wets the bed.
Three for 41.
It's the Jacoby Myers show.
He goes seven for 62 in a touchdown.
I know he's available in a million leagues, and so is Trey Tucker, who gets 96 yards
and a touchdown.
Any interest in any of these Raiders, receivers, not named Bowers or Adams.
No, because this was a raider example of, oh, what's that?
You think six things are true going into this one?
We're going to prove all six wrong.
You think that since we're home favorites against a really bad O and two team,
that this is the week, Zemir White's going to get some volume.
You think that because the coverage shell is fantastic for,
oh, and by the way, the Carolina Panthers is one of the worst run defenses in the league.
So you thought, this is what I did.
I thought Samir, like, if you ever, if you don't use them here, then cut them.
Well, I guess you got to cut them because, again, I thought Devante would do well.
Great history in the coverage shell.
You know, Bowers, you thought you were good to go.
Nope.
I mean, it wasn't that bad.
I mean, he got three for 41, but you thought Jacoby Myers was worthless.
Nope.
You thought Trey Tucker was a joke of a reach.
Nope.
I mean, I know this a lot of it was garbage time.
But yeah, I mean, they're untrustworthy.
The only trustworthy, it's Adams, like you said.
And I'll still go Bowers, but the annoying Alexander Madison,
if you're in like a 14-team-Sig and you just have absolute ass in running back here,
you're just plugging them in hoping for like six points and he's crushing it for you,
which is also somewhat annoying.
I know.
I had Madison on a team.
and I actually just dropped him after the game today.
It's one of those leagues that allows you to drop bench players once they played.
And even though he scored, I'm like, I'm going to pick up Tank Biggsby instead
because imagine if Biggsby ever becomes a thing.
Like Madison's never going to win you a game.
All right, we're cruising on here with the Fantasy Points podcast.
Folks, I want you to make sure you do one thing for me.
All right.

And trust me, I listen to a lot of shows.
John sits down with Graham Barfield and our guy, Brett Whitefield, on Thursday nights.
It's what's the image?
It's a matchup points at the Thursday night show.
Yeah, we should call it two fields and a guru.
You know, I don't know.
It is.
Welcome to two fields and a guru.
He's Brett Whitefield.
and he's Grand Barfield.
I'm the guru.
No.
Yeah.
It's a really good show and it's only available on our YouTube channel.
That's going to set you up for success every weekend.
So you want to listen to that, you know, Thursday, Friday when you're driving around.
So go over at Fantasy Points YouTube channel, hit that subscribe button.
All right.
You know who's going to need to subscribe to that to find some new moves out here.
It's a guy, Mark McDaniel.
My God.
I mean, he's just, you can't do anything.
You have Skyler Thompson out there at quarterback for the Dolphins.
He gets hurt.
Now we're bringing in Tim Boyle.
Good Lord.
The Seahawks just put it on him, 24 to 3.
A. Chan does nothing.
11 for 30 on the ground.
Two for three for 28 as a receiver.
You can't start any of these receivers anymore for the dolphins, John.
It's just, it's over until they bring in Tannahill or Snoop Huntley or whoever they're going to do because Tim Boyle, forget about it.
Yeah, wow, Tanahill.
Didn't he, I mean, that's, I mean, it's not a bad idea.
What the hell is Jimmy Garoppolo?
Is he the Rams?
I think he's the Rams backup right there.
And they need a Miami.
Oh, right.
12 on third down today.
Not that Seattle was much better,
three of 11,
but I mean,
205 total yards for Miami today.
I mean,
they just could do nothing.
So we don't need to talk much about them.
But how about D.K.
Metcalf has a good game, John.
Six for 104 and a touch.
Everybody was saying Jackson Smith and Jigba is,
you know,
the second coming.
Jerry Rice. Well, he's back to be in
JSN, 3 for 39.
It was the Zach Charbonnet day.
18 carries, 91 yards,
two touchdowns. Please,
for the love of Christ, can Ken
Walker get healthy and help some of my freaking
teams out here? Because Zach Charbonnet is
killing me. Killing me because I don't have him,
Guru. He must have heard me talking shit
on him this week, because I kept calling him a jag,
which he certainly looked like one.
I'm like, he should go to Jacksonville
and sign with that football team because
he is, in fact, the Jagwell.
he did look way better this week
I mean this was the best showing
maybe a little bit of
if you think you stink out there
getting some volume which to be fair
sometimes these guys you got to get into the flow of things
and sometimes you can't do that without the volume
and Miami's run D has not been good
but he did look good he really did
I did like DK in the game
I also did like JSN you know
3 for 39 isn't awful but disappointing
for sure Lock it was back
It's like, I thought he was dead.
Oh, and Fantacloss was around.
So bodes well for Gino.
I actually did like Gino.
I'm very proud of myself because last week I ranked Gino over Carr as the pickup.
I'm like, you know what?
I'm going Gino, damn it.
He's a lot safer and more stable.
And I like what they got going.
I know he didn't go off or anything like that,
but he did better than freaking car.
But yeah, he does throw two picks.
But, you know, they do have a pretty nice receiving corps here with the three receivers.
and fan. It's not bad. No, not bad at all. So, I mean, here's the bottom line, folks. If you got
Charbonnet, you're starting them every week until Ken Walker comes back. Yeah, and again, like, John,
anything to tell guys who have dolphins players? Like, what if you're sitting there right now and you got
Waddle and you got Tyreek and you're like, A. Chan, what do you do if you're a fantasy owner
with these guys? You're dead in the water with these quarterbacks. Dead. I mean, dude, can you,
can you get by with Adam and hope the Tua comes back? And then what's the risk fact
there, you know, because another, you know, it's like a candle, one more, one more blow and he's out
probably for the year. Another three weeks at least because he's on IR. Right. Yeah. I mean,
you never want to sell low, but on the other hand, a lot of times you can sell low and then
two, three weeks later, the asset is even more depressed. You know what I mean? So every situation is
different but you know in this case i made look to trade away a name in in tyreek at least i don't know
what waddle's gonna get you back but maybe something might be enticed by tyreek you know don't forget to
look at the schedule too just in case you know see what they got coming up here which i can do right now
but yeah it was it was pretty sad there for a while um like wow i guess tyreek is going to be
stuck on a catch until the half uh Tennessee new england buy week you know and then presumably too i mean
I guess in theory could be back by week seven, right?
Indie.
That's a month from now.
So that's a lot of time for some of these Tyreek owners to be accumulating.
It's only two more games, though.
Yeah, but it's only two more games.
Well, no, but he's got to sit through the buy and then the game after the buy.
So there's four games, right?
Well, he sat this week.
Right.
And you said they got two games and then a buy.
Oh, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
Is that, wait a second.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
If you're on the IRA, right, right, right, sure.
I screw that up, but still.
Yeah, so I guess you'd rather have the buy later.
It's a tough call.
You know, the schedule doesn't look too bad,
but I would probably lean on get it out there and sell.
You know what I mean?
Don't give it away, but maybe get out there and sell.
I mean, because that seems to be the better path.
Because presuming, you know,
that you're not selling for freaking pennies on the dollar,
you're probably going to make out better.
So for example, Tyreek,
I know people like to get examples.
Okay, so let's say, I mean, I don't, I don't,
you wouldn't really, would you really trade them
for another receiver though?
You know, like you trade Tyreek away to a team
that's loaded a running back.
So you're looking at like,
what would be a good one?
like Ramandre, E-T-N.
I don't want Ramandre.
How about?
Yeah.
What about David Montgomery?
He's coming up in our next game.
He's a top 10 running back this week.
He goes 23 for 105 in a touchdown.
He's not the sexiest guy in the world, John,
but he got 51% of the carries this week for the Lions as they win.
So maybe that's a guy you look at.
Oh, yeah.
I liked him last year and I liked him this year.
He was on my list both years.
I mean, he's been running well behind this whole line for sure.
All he does is score touchdowns.
I like Gibbs' lot, too, in this game.
And he came through it.
Yeah, absolutely.
That's a good one.
I mean, you know, I don't know about nausea, but that could be worse.
I mean, nausea is kind of looking good right now.
But, yeah, it's very worrisome.
And you worry about frustration setting in, too, with a guy like Tyreek, too.
Yeah.
I'm nervous as someone who owns a lot of A. Chan shares.
All right, we mentioned the Lions.
They were 20 to 13 winners over the Arizona Cardinals.
This game featured, John, the coolest touchdown I've seen this year.
One of my favorite old flag football.
Oh, yeah, man, the hook and lateral?
The hook and ladder.
It's so sick.
Like, why don't more teams do this?
You know, is set up two guys bracketed.
One guy catches it, turns, flips to another guy, cut in the other way.
Amon Ross St. Brown pitched to Jemir Gibbs, who got into the end zone.
It was super cool.
But Gibbs 18, 16 carries 83 yards on the ground.
He also had that, you know, touchdown on the pitch.
We just mentioned Montgomery had a great day.
Jared Goff, 199 passing two touchdowns and a pick.
It hasn't been what folks, I think, thought of, John, with Jared Goff.
And they were like, oh, he's got all these dome games and he was good last year.
He's going to be a great fantasy quarterback.
It just really hasn't been the case.
I know he's on a ton of waiver wires in leagues that I'm in because he's always like the 18th quarterback on the week, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
yeah i i yeah i wasn't that interested in him i wasn't even last year and you know and then this
year again even because he threw even though he threw 30 you you always were you got you got
you got a pile on the touchdowns if you're gerr golf he does run for six yards uh wow he went off
with six yards but yeah you really do need to pile on the the touchdowns you need to get the
volume you need you know you need to be in a shootout which is probably not going to happen you know
more than 40% of the time.
You know, they, coming off a loss too on the road,
I did right that they were going to run.
They did.
So they do, they tend to do that.
So, yeah, he's just completely week to week.
I mean, it depends on the total, the game flow.
I mean, if you need him to throw it 40 times,
he'll do it and he'll probably put up huge numbers,
but he'll also throw it 23 times like he did today.
A story of this game for fantasy, Sam Leporta,
goes down with a little bit of an injury.
We're going to have to see how he is a bit of an ankle.
Maybe it's a high ankle.
Who knows?
He'll be evaluated.
So watch the port of this week.
He does nothing for you.
Two catches for 36 yards.
The Brock Monster, Brock Wright, filling in for him,
sees five targets, goes four for 34.
I don't know if that's somebody you want to pick up off the waiver wire,
but they got to throw the ball of somebody in this offense
because they sure as hell didn't want to throw at the Jameson Williams today.
who only goes one catch for nine yards, John.
What that'll happen to order Guy Jameson today?
Yeah, well, they only threw it 23 times.
You know, the running backs combined for, was that 39 carries?
I mean, that's a lot.
That's a lot.
By the way, Amon Ra benefits if Laporte is out for sure.
And Jameson, I would think.
There were one or two, like, potentially high impact targets, I believe.
Yeah, that was a bus kill, though.
Brock Wright, I don't know, probably not.
Yeah.
You're, it's still at the end of the day, completely touchdown dependent, which, hey, it could happen.
Golf throws touchdowns, the tight ends in the red zone.
Before they drafts the Laporteur, they had a bunch of scrub scoring every week, one of them being Brock Wright.
Yeah, no question.
I was so pissed.
I kept calling him Brock wrong.
You know, what was wrong was the offense today in Arizona.
They convert one third down today.
I love giving you guys these third down stats because if you don't continue drives, you can't
put up fantasy points. And that was the problem today with the Arizona Cardinals.
Kyler today, 21 of 34 for 207, touchdown through the air and an interception.
But really good day for Marvin Harrison Jr. 5 for 61. And he gets a touchdown early in this game.
Buzz kills. Hey, James Connor, what the hell? Nine carries for 17 yards.
Just couldn't get anything going against this stout Detroit team. So other
that and I mean not a lot going on.
Hey, Michael Wilson though, I mean, he is pretty good.
And Dorch has faded a little bit.
He did get three for 35.
Especially if McBride is unable to play for a week or so.
I mean, Michael Wilson was like a pretty active in a possession role today.
I kept thinking a couple times I saw him catch a ball.
I thought it was freaking McBride actually.
So he was on my list, actually.
I was still kind of interested in him.
I'm like, no one cares about this guy.
he's going to be the number two receiver, and he's pretty good.
So there's a deep league pickup.
Yeah, keep an eye on Trey McBride, had a concussion late in this game.
He only goes three for 25.
I mean, tight end this week is just abysmal.
Let me go over to see it.
At the time of our recording, what tight ends?
I mean, obviously Goddard had a day, Komet, Ferguson, Tyler, it's a bunch of guys.
Nobody started.
Noah Fant, Kate Otten.
Nick Vinette right now is a top seven.
tight end with 8.9 points let me see who crapped the bed there's a tight end I'm
to comment on at the end of the game at the end of the pod I had Ferguson at 7 I had
friar and youth at 9 I he had a pretty good game I wish I had commit higher but I had
committed 11 so I'd commit over hunter hunter Henry but I did Barry Goddard although I did
mark him with upside but I did bury his ass a little bit I mean how could you not
after, you know, the first two weeks, you just look so sluggish.
You want to bury a guy?
How about Mark Andrews?
Where the hell is Andrews?
Who?
Where's either of them?
They're both on milk cartons right now.
They combine likely and Andrews in their 28, 25 win over the Cowboys.
One catch for four yards, John.
I mean, holy smokes.
Like, Andrews is legit killing people out here.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I saw that coming to an extent with likely emerging, but,
they only threw it 15 times i mean that was a real problem i mean freaking zay flowers geez
man three for 20 but again you know they threw it 15 times you know lamar runs against
pressure i thought he would run a lot he did henry crushed him thought he would i mean by the way
derrick henry normally doesn't do this in september go look at his game locks so that'll be
Is he going to crush in November, December like always?
Because if so, then he's going to have a monster year.
This was, to me, the Ravens trying to find their identity, John.
They were 0-2 going into Dallas, and they're like, listen, we got to just do what we do.
And they gave Derek Henry the freaking rock, 25 carries for 151 and two scores.
Derek Henry also adds a catch for 23.
Lamar looked unbelievable on the ground, 87 yards, and a touchdown.
But yeah, any of these receivers, forget about it.
I mean, if nobody's starting Bateman out there,
Zay Flowers does his typical disappearing act, three for 20.
I love crapping on Zay Flowers.
You are a hater.
You are a hater.
So that's going on Baltimore.
For the Cowboys, listen, the Cowboys were getting their ass kick this entire game.
And then finally in the fourth quarter,
they made a little bit of a run at it.
Fluky, onside kick recovery, and they got an extra possession.
But, you know, hey, we got to like what we see out of Turd Ferguson,
11 targets today, 6 for 95,
lamb, 4 for 67, so down day for him.
The touchdowns go to Turpin and Tolbert,
two guys who, you know, no one's ever going to start.
Dak throws for 379 and two scores,
and these running backs, John.
I mean, I had a lot of fun talking about our guy, Uncle Rico,
but eight carries for 32 yards leading the way.
I mean, Zeke Elliott only got three carries for six.
Like, I love having Uncle Rico on.
my bench but like I'm never going to play this guy when are you ever going to play rico dowdell
uh or zeke elliott for that point i mean there's nothing happening no it's it's pretty bad
and it's bad for cooks i like cooks because he was so cheap but apparently you get what you pay for
i mean look good week one but he's out there he's running routes but they're spreading the ball
around you know maybe he's not dead but an end zone target very frustrating but did it yeah and then
he got tollbert out there
scoring again and freaking you got to get the ball to turpin uh but yeah i think the story is ferguson
like that that was my number one tight end target and and imagine where we're at if he doesn't get
hurt you know what i mean like we're probably looking good here i can't remember who the hell they
played last week when they he missed oh that's right because schoonmaker did crushed it so give
ferguson schoonmaker's production and then add it to today and you're looking good so i think
Ferguson if you have them you're looking good I mean we're talking by the way I'll say
now I am I am this close to completely quitting on Kyle Pitts I'm I'm trying I mean he only
had one target but he's he's soft I mean he's too soft he's too soft he plays like a girl
out there I'm sorry I mean that's that's his problem right there he he he's soft he's a good
athlete that just kind of
he's not a great football
player. We'll say that. We're kind of
jumping over here because the Chiefs and the
Falcons are playing at the time of
our recording here. As we're recording,
Drake London got in the box and
so did Ray She Rice. So
good news for us fans are out there.
All right, John, let's close things out here.
The 49ers somehow
lose to the
MASH unit that is the Los Angeles Rams.
2724 Rams win at home.
This is inexplicable. How the hell do you lose this game? There's nobody on the Rams at this point. So kudos to Sean McVeigh and just Kyron Williams. They're just feeding him the rock. If you got him in the second round, nobody wanted him. Everyone was poo-pooing him. 24 carries, 89 yards, two touchdowns for Williams just at a great day. Also caught a pair of balls and a touchdown. Just this is this is all the Sean Peyton magic, or not Sean McVeigh. Sean McVeigh.
magic act here like yeah it is i don't know how san francisco lost this game they're one and two i don't
know how mcvay does it uh honestly and he's made kairn look like a freaking superstar uh again
it's still to me it's it's a little similar to neighbors i'll take ls i don't give a crap at this
point i'll take else but you know when when i'm not into a player because i have just questions
about their long term viability i'm not going to wave the white flag on
September 23rd but yeah he's crushing can we do this most weeks without your top two receivers with a 35
year old quarterback I guess we'll find out McVeigh though certainly helps I mean he called up some
unbelievable plays you know he was he crushed him like there were there were runs with
Kyron where they knew it was coming they still couldn't stop it so you know Niner D they
they sucked today they sucked they well I
I said it suck, but they were not great, not a championship day. They're, they got problems.
You know, like, what if Jordan Mason gets hurt now? They're going to all of a sudden overwork him.
And they have literally nothing. Iyuk is still rusty. We did tell a million people this morning
to star Joanne Jennings. So you're welcome. Happy to help. We should pull that clip, honestly,
because we got it a lot. 11 for 175 and 3. I think you helped a little more than help, John.
It's incredible.
Yeah, I mean, I think I read it back, you know, the Sunday column I was feeling it here.
I'm like, this guy is good, basically.
Like, Rams have allowed the fewest receptions and yards per reception to slot receivers,
but Jennings usually comes up big when they need them and they need them.
And yeah, I played the prop.
I wish I did more.
I mean, I did over three and a half grabs.
It's a joke to think about it now.
But he is freaking damn good.
I mean, he's just good.
good. He's just good.
Reliable. I'm sure Jennings
will be the hot waiver wire ad
as he's currently wide receiver one
in all band-in-mind. Yeah, keep in mind.
No Kittle.
But again, they still need another
guy, even if Kittle returns.
They do need another guy. And I yuker
right now is not reliable.
And again, these Jennings touchdowns
were, you know, two of
them were inside 15 yards.
So it's like, I take it back
what I said about Pitts. I take it back. He just made a big
play. I take it back. Edit, edit, edit, edit, cancel, cancel. Edit that part out.
He just caught a 50 yard ball. Cancel, cancel, cancel. Edit, Trey, Trey, Trey, danger, danger.
No, just kidding. You can keep it.
How about Purdy, though, going for 292 and three with this, you know, less than stellar
unit? We say, hey, how can the Niners lose to the Rams? It's not like the Niners had all their
players either without CMC and without Debo and without Kittle. So they're obviously
Williams got hurt for a little while.
He came back.
So just, it's tough.
You look at some of these teams.
Purdy was good, man.
Purdy's good.
He was good.
Yeah.
You think we're contenders here.
Dallas, we thought was a big time contender.
You know, they're one and two.
The Niners are now one and two.
So it's.
By the way, Dallas,
Dallas fans, you're done.
And I'll tell you why.
Mike Zimmer stinks.
The fact that, why, why, who in the,
world in
24, apparently
Jerry Jones,
is thinking, oh,
someone get me
Mike Zimmer on the phone.
Please,
Mike Zimmer peaked 10 years ago.
Mike Zimmer stinks.
Mike Zimmer doesn't stop
the McVeigh offense.
He doesn't stop mobile quarterbacks.
Like, you're done.
Dallas, you're done with Zimmer.
You're done.
Goodbye.
Speaking of done, so are we.
We've went through the whole gamut of
week three games.
