Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, what's up? It's John Hansen. And coming up on this week's edition of the podcast, what a guest and what a show we have in store for you. One of the greatest of all time, WWE superstar, former heavyweight champion and fantasy football enthusiast, The Miz. I've known the Miz for over a decade now. Our relationship started on Rocky Ground. He was kind of a nemesis. He joined the league. I was in for serious X-M and the guy beat my ass and he won the damn league. But over the years, the mutual respect is very obvious. So we had a great time with the great Miz. And let me tell you, our guys, Brian Drake and Thomas Tipple, Tommy T, big wrestling fans, they were in their glory.
Starting point is 00:00:52 But here's the deal with the podcast this week and the reason we have The Miz on. The Miz is a big fan of yours truly, quite frankly, and the Sirius X-M Morning Show. And he had to send me a text, and he was a little lugubrious. He was quite morose because he missed me. So I said, I'll tell you what,
Starting point is 00:01:11 buck up a little camper. We'll have you on the podcast. You can run any theory, any player, any idea you have about the upcoming campaign, running up the flagpole. We'll talk about it, and that's exactly what we did. So buckle up and get ready for a very entertaining edition of the pod. And as always, thanks for subscribing, liking, commenting.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Keep giving us the positive mojo, and we appreciate that. And you are in fact welcome. All across the fantasy universe, welcome to the Fantasy Points podcast, Brian Drake, alongside the guru, John Hanson. And John, we've got a really special show today, not only because I'm a pro wrestling mark with a winged eagle over my shoulder, but because we have a pro wrestler joining us who is a fan of the guru, a fantasy points.com subscriber, someone who's dying to get the guru rankings, man. It is the most must-see, WW superstar of all time, former world champion, just finished up
Starting point is 00:02:23 a run as the tag champs, the host of SummerSlam. Mike the Miz Miz Manon joins us. Guru, how did you run into a WW superstar? I got to hear this story first. Oh, well, that's like a lot of these stories, interactions with people within the serious XM realm. And about 10 years ago, Mike the Miz joined the celebrity fantasy football draft. We did the draft live on stage in New York. I was the defending champion.
Starting point is 00:02:52 It was the year after we rolled out Fantasy Sports Radio. So we did this big draft to kick off Fantasy Sports Radio. I won the league. And then the next year the Mizz came in and he started talking all kinds of shit. And guess what? He backed it up. He beat my ass and he won the league. We welcome him in now, Mike the Mizz.
Starting point is 00:03:13 What is up, man? It's great to see you. It's good to see you. Good to hear your voice once again. I don't get to listen to it every day on Sirius XM anymore. So I have to pick my battles. I have to come on a podcast in order to hear you. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Yeah. And that was my offer to you. That was my pitch because you were like, like, where the hell are you, man? I'm tuning in for my draft prep and you're not there. And I know a lot of people are disappointed. But you are Mike the Miz. You are the man.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Brian can get into your wrestling activities because he's a lot more familiar than I am. But I just want the people to know. And I've always said this about you. You know, you have your professional career and all that. But I've always been impressed by your integrity and your, I mean, you're a very honorable guy. Again, I hate to, you know, kiss your ass a little bit here, but you are the man. You are one of the nicest guys I've ever met because, you know, you're in a position where you could be a real a whole, but you're, you're a real,
Starting point is 00:04:14 you're a real one, Mike. I play a good one on television. I play a real good. Yeah, I play a really good egotistical, arrogant person on TV. But now, like, people seem to love it. So I get cheered for it. Before I used to get booed every single week of the, of the, of the, of the year. But you know what? Now I'm starting to get appraised for it. I'm starting to love it. But you know it's one thing about fantasy radio that like I'm like, you know, you know what we need. We need less talk about the Miz and wrestling and all the stuff. We need more talk about fantasy football because let's face it. I'm in six leagues this year. I've got celebrity leagues. I've got, you know, charity leagues. I got a lot of different ones that are PPR, half point PPR, regular. I need to dive
Starting point is 00:04:59 into this. Like I have, I have a specific amount of time that I have with you right now, Guru. And I have questions. I'm a number one pick in a PPR. And I know in a PPR in America, you don't have McCaffrey as your number one. Right. So I'm thinking, and by the way, he's not even your number one running back. Like Reese Hall is your number one running back. So I'm curious at this number one spot, what are you doing? Like, are you going wide receiver? Or do you go running back because I feel lately I've been hearing a lot like last year you don't touch a running back in the first two right this year I've been hearing people going hey I might go running back running back because there's a lot of later you know three four five where I can get a michael pitman
Starting point is 00:05:42 i can get a mike Evans I can get a neighbors you know and I can get all these guys what am I doing at the number one spot look I'm going to default to going with the running back I don't want to waffle here because I do like Lamb and Tyreek and you know chase as well the problem with taking those guys and I think this is part of knowing your league too Mike uh I mean you're in a bunch of them but you know you probably don't know all of them but will you have a crack at Derek Henry in round two because I do like Derek Henry quite a bit I don't like round two in general uh if you think maybe not I might have a crack at him so do I go Tyreek and if I can get Derek Henry on the back end. Do you really like Derek now? Like a lot of people are like saying he's old
Starting point is 00:06:29 and you're a person that usually goes, I don't go with the old guys. I'm in with the new. Right. That's true. No doubt, but you know, everyone evolves a little bit. As I always say, I just want to get the answer to the question right. So every once in a while, I mean, I'll certainly deviate from some of my core principles like, you know, an older running back like Derek Henry. But I really just, it's just such a beautiful situation. and they're going to be so impossible to defend. They'll move the ball. They'll control the games that they're in most of the time.
Starting point is 00:07:01 And he'll get the rock. And I think he's going to deliver. But at the end of the day, like, total, like you've got to make a call. I'm in on the stud running backs this year. So, but you say on there that C.D. Lam's your number one. So if you're at number one and you're a PPR in America, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:07:21 What is guru doing? Right. Well, can we say it? CD's a safe choice and pray that Henry's there. If you worry about Henry being there, I mean, maybe one or two people love Derek Henry in your league and they're going to take them in 18 overall. Not going to make it all the way back to you. Then I would, in fact, go with the running back.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Now, are we talking PPR? Okay, Kaplan Invitational. You're in a Kaplan invitation or the FBI, whatever it is. What are you doing at number one? Probably going to go with the running back. Just just you're gonna go even though you're even though your 200 says you're going CD It does it does uh but hey i mean i just do the best that i can to rank the players what i do with that is i take where they're going and when i think they're they should be going so i try to marry
Starting point is 00:08:13 you know being logical and taking these guys around when they're going and maybe when i think they should be going but no you bring up a good point here right at the top It is a very, very, very tough call because Tyreek is so damn good. Lamb is going to get another 175 damn targets, big time target percentage. And Chase is an absolute stud who has not yet had his best season. At Desjardin, we speak business. Is it MonRah over Chase right now or no? Oh, no. No, I mean, barely you could argue it. What's that? It's an argument, though.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Like, but John. Okay, let's say, let's say you're number two. And someone's listening right now goes, man, if guru's going Breece Hall, then guess what? I'm going to take, I'm going to take Bijan, or do you go, do you go Tyreek and CD and Chase and then you go Bejan? Yeah, I think if you make a decision, I'm going running back here, I, based on a variety of factors, again, maybe you think Derek Henry won't last to your late second round pick. Then I think you just commit to running back. because this year and again i'm trying my best not the waffle uh i know i have lamb and and chase and by the way i'm updating it i might change it up uh and by the way also it's still been a little
Starting point is 00:10:35 fluid here i was pretty much all in the running backs then about two weeks ago i started finding that derrick henry was going before that last pick of round two so at one i was like oh wow i better get that running back now. So I, you know, it's a little fluid. But the bottom line is I see this year not as many, you know, clear stud wide receivers at the top. So I think we're looking at those three guys, Lamb, Hill, and Chase. Then I see a drop off. And then I'm going running backs over all other comers.
Starting point is 00:11:11 And that includes Justin Jefferson. Obviously, we've got a problem there. Amon Ra is very good. but I do think this is the year to go with running backs. And one of the reasons. So do you do if you're number three then and Mijon and Brise are gone, do you go McAfree or would you go, hey, we're going to go with these Tyreek, Chase, and then then it's McCaffrey.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Because it seems like McCaffrey, you, you seem to think that there's a fall off, right? Yeah, I do. I do. I'm very, I'm very concerned. I'm making sure I'm behind his ADP. I don't want to go there, in part because. we unlike last year briefs was coming off in ACL bejean was playing for arthur smith as a rookie hadn't really done anything same with ameer gibbs and taylor jonathan taylor was embroiled in a
Starting point is 00:11:57 contract dispute big time holding out so completely different ballgame this year it's like okay last year i'm like all right i'm not going to take mcalfrey but i get it i understand it now we're a year older and now we have these four really pristine running back prospects they're young they're durable generally and they're very versatile like the question is why would i risk it with a 29 year old mcalfrey he had the calf sprain in the calf issue here in the summer and that is very concerning to me because that was the injury that he suffered last year in week what was it 16 the fantasy chance 17 the fantasy championship week and he didn't play again for three weeks granted he was good in the playoffs maybe not as good, but what if he had that injury in week four? Or what if he does this year? He aggravates
Starting point is 00:12:50 in a week three. Now you're in for a long road here, potentially worrying about McCaffrey. Why do it when you have viable, very viable alternatives who are on average like five years younger? All right. So these are my cream of the crops. I'm curious on this one too. So I have Drake London in the fourth as a keeper if I want. Like why are people so high on London right now when And he hasn't really shown anything. Now, granted, he has a quarterback this time. Oh, since he has a quarterback, now all of a sudden, Pitts and London are like all of a sudden the bell of the ball.
Starting point is 00:13:28 But wait a second, like, they haven't really shown anything. So why are they going so much higher now than they were before? Like, I get that it's Kirk Cousins. Is it really that significant of a difference? Brian, you can chime in here. man, Desritter, he's bad. I mean, he's really, really bad. And Marcus Mariotta is worse. So now, we don't know if Kirk Cousin is going to be ready for week one. I think that still might be something of an issue, but at least we do have Michael Pennix. I'm not in love with London,
Starting point is 00:14:00 but, you know, I think he's pretty good. I wasn't a big London person originally when he came out. I did have a long conversation with my boy, Roddy White, who was at practice. And he studied him closely, his rookie year, and he was like, no, he's going to be good. He's separating on the outside against good corners in man coverage, which is a good litmus test. And, you know, he's been pretty good, just really held back by the quarterback. Brian, where are you with London? Are you with the masses that are giving him more love these days?
Starting point is 00:14:33 I'm a little pulled back on Drake, London. I used to do a segment on my Sirius XM show on Sunday night. It's called Hate the Drake. It was players who let you down that day. And Drake London appeared on that list an awful lot. But again, to your point, a lot of its quarterback play, you'll look at what he did last year. Really, the games that he produced and he only had two weeks where he scored over 20 PPR points, it's because he was force-fed targets.
Starting point is 00:14:55 He had weeks of 11 and 12 targets to get there. If I'm drafting a guy in one of those top four rounds, I want to make sure he's got that kind of weak winning upside. I'm not necessarily sure that Drake London does. And also, by the way, we're going to feed the ball to Bejan. We're going to give the ball to Kyle Pitts finally. And, you know, Darnel Mooney, really nice player on the other side that they brought in from Chicago. So I'm pulling back a little bit on him. You know, he's a big contested catch guy.
Starting point is 00:15:21 I don't know how much he's going to get up and down the field. I'd rather see who else is around that ballpark. Like, you know, Guru, I'm looking at your rankings right here. I've got your top 200 cheat sheet from FantasyPoint.com. You know, Marvin Harrison, Jr., you've got ranked just around him. I'd rather have him over him. Pooka Nakuwa. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Give me Pooka Kua over Drenica. but if you're going to keep Mike in the fourth round, do you have any other options? Who else could you maybe keep from this team? I mean, Tage Spears in like the 10th. I have Joe Burrow in the 8th. I have EETN in the 15th, which I'm keeping, but I have one more that I'm allowed to keep. And so, obviously, I'm keeping ETIN, but I was like, ah, Drake in the fourth, I guess that's a value. And then I'm like, but it's not really a value. You kind of can get them there. And then I was thinking, Burrow in the eighth is kind of a
Starting point is 00:16:09 value. It's not a great value. And then Tajay, I thought Tajay was going to be the guy in, in Tennessee. Like the way that, that you built him up, Guru last year, I thought this is, this is going to be a steel next year. I'm going to have the best keepers out of everybody. I'm having an 11th round. He's going to be a first rounder. And now everyone's like, yeah, he's 10, 11th round. No one's really talking about him. Yeah, but did you watch him play at all? Because he's good. I know he's good. But why isn't everyone being like, get You got to get Tajay Spears. You're not hearing that a lot.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Right. Everywhere I look. They paid Tony Pollard. Obviously, he's coming off a bad year, but he's looking a little bit better these days. It's a dual backfield. Like, it's a shared backfield. And I think if they didn't sign Tony Pollard and Tajay Spears was a starter, I mean, he'd probably be a fourth round pick.
Starting point is 00:17:04 But why would you sign, why would you sign Tony Pollard if you know you have, a Tajay Spears and what we thought Tajy Spears was right we thought he was like an exceptional running back you wouldn't you wouldn't need a tony pollard and to pay a tony pollard when you have taj spears so what something's going on right yeah i mean well spears is a little smaller he's not you know he doesn't have the greatest frame to be a true bell cow he also has this long-term lingering thing with like he doesn't have an acl you know i i talked with them at the combine he was all awesome, really great interview, unbelievable guy. Didn't mention any issues whatsoever long-term health, but you know, you can't ignore it.
Starting point is 00:17:49 They're transitioning a little bit. They've got a young quarterback and Will Levis. They don't want to put too much on his plate, kind of build the offense around these two guys. Again, they'll be interchangeable. But I do love Tage Spears. I think he's going to still be very good and deliver. But he's not a value. I'm going to go Drake London there, Ms.
Starting point is 00:18:09 because Spears you can probably get right around that slot, 10th round, and then Burrell, you'll probably get them right around that spot too. To be honest, I really don't want Drake London. I'm almost thinking of like, I might not do two keepers. I might just do one keeper. I know Drake is probably going in what, the third round? Second. It's all over board.
Starting point is 00:18:27 I mean, I got a two round value. And in the first, in the first, you know, I'm the sixth pick. So I imagine everyone's going to follow the rules. So I'll probably get Brees or I get Bajon. So I'm like, okay. So I have my two running backs. Now the second round, I can probably come around in that six spot and get, I don't think Garrett Wilson will fall to me.
Starting point is 00:18:48 No. But I also think like, I don't know if I want Devante Adams. Like I do, like do I want Devante Adams? No. Because, yeah, like I know the talent. I just don't know the quarterback, right? I don't know if the quarterback can get him the ball. And then I'm trying to also think, all right, what am I looking for in that, that, that,
Starting point is 00:19:09 come around i want i want a wide receiver one i don't think i can get one malick neighbors that's the guy in the second round that early i thought you're talking maybe more than later i think by the end of 80p season here when all these drafts are setting done i think we're going to see malic neighbors sneak up into the third round guru i think we talked about this last night on the show he's going like fourth right now i think you're going to see him like early third late second the hype on him is going to get out of control. I saw Jordan Renan, Giants beat reporter talking him up that he could lead the league in targets. You know, and he's just, he's the offense. They don't have Sequin anymore. You know, are you really going to put the ball in Singletary's hands, you know, 30 times a game?
Starting point is 00:19:49 Absolutely not. They're going to find any way they can to get neighbors the ball. So if you're looking at guys like that, you know, end of the second round, you're looking for wide receiver, the world's your oyster. I mean, what do you think of Cooper Cup? You're like, do you think he can bounce back? I know, you know, guru, you're an agist, but if Cooper Cups healthy, you know, he's a target monster. The football nerd is here to win. But what about Puga-Dakua? I mean, a lot of people had him higher than Cooper Cup.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Isn't that correct? Yeah, that's correct. I have a name for you. One of you, I love this guy and you weren't feeling it. He did blow up. How about a little Debo Samuel? Oh, you want a little Debo, huh? Yeah, I'm back.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Well, what if Iyuk stays? Well, then now you're still dealing with a guy who's fine. you know, maybe you met with right. I don't want fine, okay? Nobody wants fine. Okay, I want, this is amazing. This is, this is what's going to win me the league. I want picks like that.
Starting point is 00:20:48 I don't mean, fine. Maybe I go King Henry. Why wouldn't I go Derek Henry there and have ETN and I have King Henry in the Flex? I mean, this is a year. If you want to be sneaky, yeah. Yeah, because the depth at wide receiver in these middle rounds, you mentioned a couple of names, not even middle, earlier rounds, three, four, five, six, Michael Pittman, DJ Moore.
Starting point is 00:21:10 I mean, there are a lot of names here. But let's take a look at Debo. Number one, Debo last year was right there. If you recall, I love Diuk last year. I'm like, this guy, just get him. And he was great. But guess what? Debo had more points per game last year, last year with Iyuk.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Was he a wide receiver one or two, though, last year? he was a high end two okay so that would be so then that would mean i would have two great running backs and then a high end wide receiver two who could blow up to be number one yeah because we know that we know that and then i'll have the drake london which is will hopefully be a wide receiver two maybe yeah and then i'd have to look for a tight end now a lot of people are blowing smoke up the the McBride and the and the King Cade. Are we in the same realm as that? Like are we getting them over, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:11 say, Mark Andrews, Kelsey, are these like, but we're always targeting for someone, right? Yeah. You might not, like, if you're like thinking, like, I mean, I love Kelsey. I think he's amazing. I think he's incredible. I always, last year I got him in the first round,
Starting point is 00:22:24 just because that's how much I believe in no matter what, you could always have trade bait because it's like, ah, well, I got this. But I'm wondering, do, am I, going towards these guys because leporta's going to be gone in my leagues i know that he's going to be overdrafted like early and i don't think i want any of that i don't want that smoke right i feel like i want to find the newcomer the new tight end yeah the tight end that's like the problem is these new tight ends are the darlings is no joku an option i like nijoku last year but and he came through i feel like i got
Starting point is 00:22:58 lucky from Joe Flacco though. I'm worried about the Sean for your brown. Sorry, miss. His, his arms a little sore right now. I'm like, I mean, there's been a while. Winston, James is good. James can throw the ball. He will. He will. He might throw it to the other team a bunch of times. But he's going to get it to he's going to have the same amount of intercepts he has touchdowns. You know what I mean? Like so I mean, he's going to be targeting. I just don't know, like I'm looking for that tight end man I'm looking for that I got the guy I got the guy round that like that nobody else is like talking about it's like I got this guy I got the guy you ready they're ready Jake Ferguson Dallas Cowboys oh really you don't think people are looking at him you know he's the
Starting point is 00:23:46 11th tight end off the board I've got him at eight so it's a little buying opportunity do you think he's a he's a 12th rounder what do you think he's going to fall a 12-man 12-team league you know eighth or ninth round i mean it's like okay so look at eighth or ninth round people are on him but you know he's really only done it for like let's call it two-thirds of the season if you recall miss you listen to the show two years ago i love jake ferguson i told everyone to pick him up in dynasty and boom i mean we haven't even peaked yet he's a great dude i chopped it up with him in india at the combine uh he plays fantasy so you love you love you love that he's barry alvarez's grandson okay he played for wisconsin his grandfather's a freaking
Starting point is 00:24:32 legend and you know no entitlement whatsoever good guy and and here's the key he he's sneaky athletic he's not like a freak by any stretch but he's very smart and very savvy and deck prescott is what we call like a see it and throw it quarterback and oftentimes if the first second isn't there, he defaults to checking it down or looking over the middle for his tight end, as I call him his blankie. You know, when Dak came out, I did predict that summer that he was going to be good and the Cowboys nailed a pick and all that. And the first thing I saw was, oh, wow, he's really looking for Jason Whitten.
Starting point is 00:25:15 You can look up Jason Whitten's numbers, very big numbers late in his career, too, playing with Dak. So they're a little limited receiver. You know, Brandon Cook's and Lamb. then they've got a lot of unknowns running back what's that what are they doing there what's that what are they doing a running back uncle rico baby yeah yeah he's it well they could bring in a guy they probably are you are you going to are you going to be picking riko i look i have you get him brian you can get him in like the 16th round what he's a starting running back though it doesn't
Starting point is 00:25:50 matter i just had i was out your neck of the woods in canton ohio about two two weeks ago at the fantasy football expo 14 team kings classic draft. Mind you in that draft, I took Bejan Robinson at the 102 because I knew coming back to me, running back was going to be blown up. And it was. So I ended up taking D.K. Or excuse me, DJ Moore and Debo Samuel as my wide receivers there still end up with Ken Walker, Rahim Moster a little later. But yeah, you're talking about Rico Dowdle. People are taking like shots on backups. They're like, oh, give me Ray Davis and give me Blake Corum and guys who don't have roles at this point before they're taking Uncle Rico, who,
Starting point is 00:26:27 If the season started today is the starting running back for the Dallas Cowboys. Is he's there, though? He's there, but I mean, he'll probably maybe get a little goal line work, but I don't know. They let him go. They didn't want him after a while. And from all the stuff I've seen in camp, all they say is Rico's getting the first touches every time they're doing drills. And he looks good.
Starting point is 00:26:47 They're just nobody's talking about it because he is very replaceable. I don't know if, if, you know, a Khalil Herbert gets cut. Maybe they sign him or Miles Sanders finds his way out of Carolina, but I want to give you my cut. Could be. You never know. Starting running back. No, Khalil Herb out in Chicago, they got DeAndre Swift.
Starting point is 00:27:06 They've got a Rocheon Johnson, a kid from Texas a year or two ago. And just to go back to your tight end point for our listeners out there, you don't have to take Kelsey or Leporta in the second or third round. One of the guys that I love late, too, Evan Ingram. We had 11 tight ends last year, average double digit PPR point. That never happened before. And you look at Ingram, hit 13 and a half points per game. That was fourth best among tight ends. His ADP is like tight end eight.
Starting point is 00:27:34 If he would have had just two more touchdowns, he would have been the tight end one on the whole season. He only had four on the year. So you can wait. I love our guy, Turd Ferguson, Evan Ingram. You want to wait even real farther. Guru loves Tyler Conklin. Maybe you want to take him as your second tight end,
Starting point is 00:27:48 but there's options. Don't waste that early pick. Keep hitting those receivers. What about McBride and, McBride, are you looking at them at their ADPs? or do you think you don't need you don't have to get them i like both players quite a bit especially mcbride again mike you're a listener i mean how much love did i give tray mcbride uh starting two years ago freaking love a bit big great guy unbelievable guy the only problem is when those two are going off
Starting point is 00:28:15 the board there are still some really appealing running back in wide receiver options and that is who okay let's go take a look oh let's take a look let's take a look at mcbride first there are some scrubs that not scrubs but well uh mcbride's going before ken walker i'm very high on ken walker mcbride is going even even with the trade today for jehan dots and skinny batman davante smith i like him more who else you know uh i mean it's not a ridiculous list of players but i just i'll take him look i will absolutely take mcbride especially if he falls to the top of the fifth is this fifth round okay so fifth round you're looking here fourth round you you can definitely get him fifth round in a 12 man you're probably not getting him and if he does fall uh then it's almost
Starting point is 00:29:08 like i have to take him because i am very what about king kate so much similar here he's a little cheaper i might look at him more than mcbride just because i don't know well i guess they're only separated by like seven or eight picks uh but the guys going off the board around kinkade I don't love them. It's Walker, George Pickens. You'd pick Pickens over Kincaid. What about Pickens over McBride?
Starting point is 00:29:33 No, I wouldn't do that. But it's also kind of a combination. So it's like, rather than go McBride and, I don't know, T. Higgins, maybe I'd rather have Kincaid and Pickens.
Starting point is 00:29:48 You know what I mean? So it's just trying, I'm just trying to maximize every pick, positionally. And I'm very high on Jake Ferguson. He is the cheapest of, you know, I think he's the best target among the tight ends being drafted as starters. It's a good value. It's not an unbelievable value, but I think he'll return very well. I mean, we could see top five production if the touchdowns come. And by the way, while we're talking about maximizing the pick or each position, I feel the exact same way about Jordan Love at quarterback.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Like I'm taking really. Okay. I'm going to I'm going to throw I'm a pepper something at you. All right. Jordan Love, love, Kyler Murray. Love. Love. Even with Kyler's cheat code.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Yeah, because the cheat code brings with injury risk. Burrow. Neck and neck. Neck and neck. Neck and neck. Gordon Love and Joe Burrow are neck and neck. neck. Is this eighth round, seventh round, sixth round? Where are we looking? Yeah, about seventh, eighth. Seventh, eighth round. Okay. Now, any of these rookies you like, like Caleb or a lot of people are
Starting point is 00:31:00 talking about Daniels. I feel like everyone's like he's the new, like, it's like, yes, this is the guy. We got to get him. Yeah. I like Caleb more. I like Daniels. A lot to work with. You've been watching hard knocks, huh? Yeah, yeah. I mean, we have that little bias, but I've actually I've had Caleb. I had them as my number one quarterback all along. Now, that's actually somewhat of a hot take at FantasyPoints.com because our guy, Brent Whitefield, had J.J. McCarthy as his number one quarterback. We'll see how. Rookie quarterback, right? Yeah, yeah, rookie, rookie, rookie. So Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, what are we doing? Well, again, I'm trying to maximize every pick and get the most value out of it. And Jordan Love at 80 overall QB10 is the man.
Starting point is 00:31:53 I mean, that's the guy. I think he's going off the board after after Burrow, by the way, generally. And after Kyler, by the way. Is Kyler someone you'll look at, though? Say love goes off the board. Burrow goes off the board. Do you go Kyler or do you wait and say, you know what? I could probably get Caleb a little later.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Or I get Jaden Daniels a little later. Exactly. So do we do we do that? Probably. Probably. Okay. Yeah. I feel very good about Caleb Williams. You know, like I watched me at USC. I was like, oh my God, you know, the year he won the Heisman. Then, you know, last year was a little rough, a little bit too much of the hero ball stuff. But like, like, he gets the ball to the receivers. I know it sounds like, duh, you know, but like there are very few arm limitations, angle platform limitations. What do you think it's going to be that receiver though? Do you think it's, you see? I was watching last night Hard Knocks. And I don't see a lot of DJ more, right?
Starting point is 00:32:51 I see a lot of Keenan Allen. I see a lot of Dunes Day. Like, I see a lot of Rome. So I'm like, why is it? But I imagine during the, during the, during the, they just gave DJ Moore so much money. Yeah. They're not going to be like, yeah, we're not going to target this guy and get this guy. But is he going to be the one to get in that offense?
Starting point is 00:33:09 Or is it going to be Keenan, who's a little older, but great route runner. Right. Yeah. And then Rome could be like. People are talking about neighbors. Why not Rome? Yeah, yeah. I think it'll still be DJ Moore.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I mean, he's, I believe he's the one. He's their top outside receiver. Roma Duneze is a little overvalued. He'll help. But that's part of the Caleb Williams equation. They are really looking good. And, and you know, you know me, Mike. I'm all about vibes and how they, these guys carry themselves.
Starting point is 00:33:41 I was around Caleb at the combine. I was like, wow, he's confident. but not cocky really or arrogant like i'm like i liked it i i really did and and i watching hard knocks like you can't help but like the guy yeah like in any smooth it seems like he's just has a smooth personality and calm demeanor which is kind of what you want at quarterback right he seems like he's very uh he's very in tune with everything like when uh iber flus was going over stuff with him i was like oh this is good i even like his backup quarterback too like i was like I don't know if he gets caught or whatever, but I bet people will go for this guy and be like, man, this guy could be something.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Yeah, I mean, Beijing can spin it a little bit. I actually watched and practiced for a week two years ago at the senior bowl at a shed of a shepherd college. It's like D2, D3 maybe first quarterback to start a game in the NFL out of undrafted out of a D3, I believe, school and like since like 1959 or something. They said that on Hard Knocks the other day. But yeah, I mean, it's just it's just good vibes. You know, you've got, you know, we do have a new coordinator there, but the head coach is there is new, has been there, not new. O-line is in pretty good shape.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Running back room is good. Receiver room. Defense is great. That's going to be one of the best fantasy defenses out there. People are sleeping on the Bears. You think so? Better than Cleveland? Cleveland is outstanding.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Cleveland, you know, tough schedule because it's tough division. They play a lot of those slogs, really with fantasy defenses. And I last year wrote the article. for FantasyPoints.com on streaming defense and special teams. It just all comes down to turnovers. Can you turn the other team over? Can you get out into a lead so that you're forcing teams to drop back 40 times and throw the ball so you can get strip sacks and fumbles and interceptions and all that?
Starting point is 00:35:28 Cleveland was great. But the reason the Cowboys were so good for fantasy was they had guys returning pick sixes every week. The Jets, as good as they were, were not a great fantasy defense because they never scored. They never had that many takeaways. Are you talking about the bears here, Brian? I think Bears fantasy defense is going to be great. I agree to an extent here because Ibrough Fluse, that's what he does.
Starting point is 00:35:50 He's all about turnovers. So yeah. Once they got Montes sweat last year or two. Where are they going in where are they like kind of ranked? Are they ranked in the top 10, top five? I honestly stop following defenses. I had to retire from something, Mike. But I'm sure they're outside of the top 12, Brian.
Starting point is 00:36:10 They're outside of the top 10 on fantasy. points right now. But again, when you're drafting defenses, you're really just looking for the first few weeks of the season, because you're just playing matchups at that point. The funny part is the NFL is such a TV product now. The first week or two of the season, it's all like marquee matchups. You don't want to play any of these teams, really, because everybody's got a tough matchup. You know, like, oh, I'll get the Packers or the Eagles, well, they're playing each other. You know, Kansas City, they got a tough matchup. You know, the Jets and the 49ers, they got tough matchups. So, yeah, it's all over to board here. I'm trying to see.
Starting point is 00:36:42 What do you guys think of Aaron Rogers? Are we drafting him at all? You know, I like him. I like him late. If you're 2 QB league or maybe a backup quarterback, I think he's going to throw 30 touchdowns this year. Garrett Wilson, Garrett Wilson next year is going to be what we talk about C.D.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Lamb this year. Like people. Oh, really? Oh, my God. Do you remember where C. Are you targeting? Is this someone you're targeting? Like a Garrett Wilson,
Starting point is 00:37:04 is that someone you're targeting? Oh, I'll take Garrett Wilson the end of the first round. Oh, all day long. Oh, I would, Mike, I would absolutely. love it if I could get at the end of round one, if you have any of your six leagues in that spot, like a Garrett Wilson and Gibbs or Garrett Wilson. You like Gibbs? Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I know we can time share a little bit, but he's not going to get him back on. So if I'm in the late, if I'm in the back and I have a chance to get Gibbs or Henry, who else would be in that, that little category? Echo, I guess people are now like getting up there. Um, Devon A Chan. What do you think of him, Mike? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:43 What happened like Rahe Moseert? Like I thought he was good. He is. He had 18 touchdowns last year. I know. I don't get it. Like everyone's like, A. Chan. A.
Starting point is 00:37:51 I'm like, wait a second. Am I, is my mind just going nuts? Or like, like, it's like, uh, Austin Echler. Like everyone's talking about Brian Robinson. I go, Eckler's there. He's, he, is he not good anymore? What happened? There's a lot of uncertainty.
Starting point is 00:38:07 There's more uncertainty than ever. I, I, I've, see my not to go off in a tangent but like to your point a little bit like it's kind of all over the map a little bit this year i think you'll find in your six drafts that once you get past the first three four rounds i mean it's just the old wild west out there like anything goes like who to hell knows where certain people have these people slotted like yeah oh get guys we do not care uh yeah well maybe taking in ninth round maybe are you you don't like gold guys so are you going to be taking them in the ninth round
Starting point is 00:38:39 No, no, I won't. No. No. Even the 18 touchdowns, 18. I know. Those, remember what I said last year about Jamal Williams? I'm like, Jamal, congratulations for those 17 touchdowns in 2022. FYI, you're scoring four in 2024, and he got one.
Starting point is 00:38:58 What about Austin Echler? I don't know, man. I'm worried. You got that Brian Robinson than Austin Echler? Yeah, I think so. You know, it's just the fear. of drafting someone who test positive for geritol you know what i mean like what if he's done what about okay how about chub you tell me mr cleveland browns i want him you want i don't know around i want him
Starting point is 00:39:24 but i want him because i know the effort and the the work yeah the type of person that i feel like he can be and the type of person that the the the cleveland browns believe him to be and so i know you're going to beat him the ball i just don't know when should i be targeting him and I imagine you're not targeting him at all right that's a good question Brian was that like eighth ninth round yeah I was going to ask you know Mike you know your profession obviously as a professional wrestler deals with injuries all the time so when you see you know nick chub squatting 400 pounds or whatever it was knowing that you know with an ACL it's about lateral side to side movement but even using your experience as a wrestler when you see people
Starting point is 00:40:06 coming back and putting up that kind of weight is there a difference between doing things in the weight room and then being able to do it in the ring or on the field. And then there's also that mindset of, you know, can I trust my body when I'm in the ring, when I'm on the field to react the way I want it to. We hear that all the time with ACLs is really the biggest thing to get over is the mind because people don't think they, like they can't feel the knee. It's not working for them. Have you experienced anything like that or seen the only thing I've ever been injured in my entire career was an MCL tear. And they told me, it was, you know, I think it was like six weeks. They were like, you'll be back, no problem.
Starting point is 00:40:45 At the six week mark, I did everything I possibly could to get like to be ready. Could I run in a ring? Absolutely. Could I feel safe in a ring? Absolutely. Is there still something in my mind that goes, that's, it's a little, it's a little touchy, right? There's a little something there. You know what I mean? I know it's there. It's in the back of my head. It's not in the front of my head. I'm good. But I know it's there. Yes, 100%. However, two months after that six weeks, I was good to go. Now, do I still feel it from time to time here and there? It'll get a little sore. I'll be like, oh, okay, that's no problem. But it doesn't affect my abilities because I feel like I'm smart enough in the ring to know what I need to do, when I need to do it and how to protect it. And I'm that good. to where I can make sure that I give the audience what they need. I give the story what it needs and I can still be absolutely effective. So that is not football though. That is not, you know, I imagine Nick Chubb goes in there and goes,
Starting point is 00:41:52 I'm good to go. It might be in the back of his head that it's like a little like, okay, whatever. Is he able to use his brain and use, you know, his ability to his veteranism, I guess you can say, of being a running back and know where to go, when to go, and how to do it to be successful in it.
Starting point is 00:42:11 I do believe he probably does. I don't know if football is the same aspect because I also have a 300 pound guy coming after me that might fill in that hole that I thought would be open, you know, even though all my studying and all that stuff. So it's very difficult to find. And the offensive line for Cleveland Browns is pretty good. So, I mean, I don't know how, I mean, Nick Chubb is an audits. You have oddities in every sport and that are physical freaks that literally can can be get injured.
Starting point is 00:42:43 And then, you know, five months later, they're back like, who thought Aaron Rogers would be back? You know, we were talking about it last year like, oh, he might play in the playoffs. They make it. You know what I mean? So, you know, some people heal faster than others. Some people, everyone's different. So it's hard to discuss this sort of situation. Am I taking Nick Chub in the eighth round?
Starting point is 00:43:02 Yep. You better believe it. but I'm also a Browns fan. Yeah. Well, here's what you do, though, because look, you want to show your love for the Brown, whatever. Like, it's your team. Like, you know, I always say, like, I want to feel good about my guys, my team, whatever.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Just get Deontay Forman. Because as our guy, Nate Zaguer correctly pointed out a couple of weeks ago, I mean, he's a banger inside. Like, that's the guy that's going to get all the touchdowns while Chubb is out. And he's not a zero in the past game caught a couple of them. caught a couple of balls the other day or like uh like that he just gets touchdowns i mean he's going to be game script dependent he maybe even a little more so than chub like here's the deal with dionte forman if his team wins he'll kill he'll crush it if they lose and fall behind early he does have
Starting point is 00:43:52 some downside i don't know if you know this but on rich isin they asked me um to talk about the schedule of the cleveland browns and we went through every single week i said that the cleveland browns are going undefeated and they're going to the Super Bowl they'll be the first team ever to be undefeated and win the Super Bowl so i believe they're going to be winning so i think i should target foreman yeah absolutely and i'm sure you're still talking to Nate so all the time he he was by the way a shout out to the great Nate Zagura man i i i listened to the broadcast and he is just getting better and better at that i know i know i mean when he uh when he told me he was going to be doing it. I was like, this is, this is what you were born to do. Like my dad,
Starting point is 00:44:37 like my dad likes, I think Nathan more than he likes me, to be honest with you. Like, Nathan calls him before I call him on Father's Day. Like Nathan talks to him more than I talk to him. And my dad always tells Mike, you know, you know, Nathan is such a good talker. Oh, man. And in my head, I'm like, you know, that's what I'm kind of known for in WWE, right? Like, but and then also, Nathan had his first match in wrestling, like, because he's loved wrestling ever since he was a kid. He had a match. My dad brought 30 people to his match,
Starting point is 00:45:11 had T-shirts made and everything. My dad doesn't like to go to my wrestling matches ever. Like, he likes to get tickets for everyone else, and then he doesn't even show up. Did he go to SummerSlam? Huh? My dad, did my dad go to SummerSlam? Yeah, I think he did.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Yeah, my dad went to SummerSlam. You're the damn host of the show. I got to ask this. How cool was it for you? being an Ohio kid to have that event in Cleveland Brown Stadium and to be, you know, the host of it, to get out there and just to take in that moment of all your, you know, fellow Clevelanders around you and just that had to be so fun. Like the little kid, me and you were the same age, man, to like sit in there and see that.
Starting point is 00:45:50 And you've done a lot of great things in the business, but that had to be so fun. It was, you know, being from Cleveland, Ohio, like I know what it's like to be a kid growing up there. I used to watch them at the municipal stadium. And now, you know, at now at Cleveland Brown Stadium, I remember, you know, being on a bus singing, Bernie, Bernie. Oh, baby. Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Like, I remember those moments. I remember hating the Denver Broncos and hating John Elway. I just, those were the days, right? And then literally being able to go into that stadium, not as a fan, but as a performer, and be able to perform in front of my family, my friends. And, you know, granted, did I want a wrestling match? Of course.
Starting point is 00:46:39 But it is very, very difficult nowadays with how many people, how many superstars we have, as we call over, who are getting reactions, you know, putting butts in seats. We have so many superstars right now that are immensely popular, that have great stories going to be able to find a spot for me in my hometown as a host. like I was I'm forever grateful. But obviously you always want that that match. You know, you know, Logan Paul got to be the hometown hero with a match and created a moment that I think people will talk about for probably the rest of their lives. Like Logan Paul is very good at what he does.
Starting point is 00:47:17 He lost L.A. Knight. We had such tremendous matches too that were just so good. And then the next one we have coming up is Brat Bash in Berlin, which is, I mean, we've been going international. We're going worldwide. We have been for a long time, but now our PLEs are going international and the fans are just eating it up. The one thing that I feel like will never happen
Starting point is 00:47:39 is we'll probably never have a show at Cleveland Brown Stadium ever again because it might be going away. We don't know. People are all been out of shape because, you know, Cleveland Brown Stadium might be going to Brook Park in a dome. And people are like,
Starting point is 00:47:54 well, that's not Cleveland football. It needs to be outdoors. No, it doesn't. All right, I don't like to freeze. Like, I don't like to freeze and watch a football game. I just don't, all right? And by the way, I don't think any people understand. It's like, oh, it's the Brook Park Browns.
Starting point is 00:48:11 No, it's not. It's the Cleveland Browns, all right? By the way, how many, the Cowboys don't play in Dallas. Are in that actual city. Do we call the Giants and the Jets, the New Jersey giant? No, we don't. But, I mean, people are just complaining about these sort of things. and I'm like, all the friends I talk to, right?
Starting point is 00:48:32 Everyone I talk to is like, this is great. This is going to be awesome. A dome would be amazing. We don't care if it's in Brook Park or downtown. And then I read like Instagram comments. And it's like, that's not Brown's football. We need to be freezing cold in the snow. That's not Brown's football.
Starting point is 00:48:51 It's in Brook Park. I'm like, what is going on? I can never, never seen so many people going every which way in this, in this matter. So, guys, we have zero Super Bowls outdoors, right? Yeah. Maybe try something else. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Back to the Browns. You just crack me up there, by the way. I love that reaction. Were you aware of football for the drive? Yeah. I remember it. Okay. I don't like to talk about it, but I remember it.
Starting point is 00:49:20 I remember exactly where I was watching TV and going. And my dad and my dad and his friends were a little bit more animated. I kind of, I knew what was going on, right? When you're a kid, you really don't. You're just watching. I'm not like, oh, well, this quarterback is making this incredible stuff. There's no way we, like I'm thinking we won, right? We're done.
Starting point is 00:49:42 It's over with. We're going to the Super Bowl. This is it. And then Elway just, man, did he just do an incredible job of just. I mean, that is, that's a moment that's been talked about, not just in Cleveland, but everywhere. Yeah. You know, that just doesn't happen.
Starting point is 00:50:01 It really doesn't, unless you're Patrick Mahones nowadays. Yeah. I saw it. I saw it live. Of course, I'm older than you. I was like 17 years old. So. You saw it live?
Starting point is 00:50:09 Oh, yeah. I mean, not at the game, but I saw it all unfold on television. And honestly, when Elway gets the ball, I'm like, he's going to do it.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Like, I knew it. But you do it? I did. I did. Because it was just, the play before which is where I was getting to one of the greatest would or should a could have moments before the drive the brown scored to go up right before the drive
Starting point is 00:50:40 i know brian brennan do you remember him in the catch brian brennan no i don't but okay well go look it up before because it was a baller play like kosar to brian brennan i'm like you know 17 year old kid I'm rooting for the Browns. I love Webster Slaughter, by the way. Oh, yeah. Big Webster slaughter guy. And I'm like, oh, this is it. They're going to do it.
Starting point is 00:51:03 And then I just had this feeling like Elway gets the ball and the announcer starting setting it up. And I'm like, no, it's the Browns. It's Elway. I'm like, he's going to do it. But we were good back then. We were really the Browns. Like it wasn't like you looked at us like, oh, the Browns.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Like you were, I mean, it was Ozzie News and Kevin Mac, Mac, Eric Metcalfe, Cozar. They were loaded. Like Webster Slaughter, you had all these elite, like they were good, like a good football team. They were great. They were a great team. We're going to see a point, I think, too, with a lot of these NFL stadiums. The bills should have put a dome on their stadium, but all these teams want to make.
Starting point is 00:51:41 You're going to have domes everywhere because it's not just football. It's because you want a bid to get, you want Taylor Swift to come to your town. You want WrestleMania to come to your city. I mean, you see it firsthand. what it does when WrestleMania comes to town for a weekend. How cold was it, by the way, wrestling in Philadelphia? I was shocked they had it there in early April. It was actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Starting point is 00:52:03 I thought it was going to be freezing cold. It wasn't bad at all. I actually enjoyed being there in Philly. It was nice. I will tell you this, the ladders that we had, I was in a ladder match, the ladders were freezing. So when you're wrestling and everything like that, and then you put your hands on a ladder, you're like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:52:21 This thing is freezing cold. Like that's what, that's when I realized. I was like, oh, it's really cold out there. Like, I feel bad for the fans, you know? But I mean, Philly, they're used to it, right? Yeah, we're used to it. But I do, yeah, that's one thing I know, you know, being a performer. I know what a city, what an event can do for a city.
Starting point is 00:52:40 I watch it firsthand. When we come in to a city, whether it's SummerSlam or Royal Rumble or WrestleMania, we take over that city. And not only that, we bring people that aren't normally at your city, come there and people will go, oh, this city has this and this and this, I might come back. And it draws not just the event, money for the event, but it draws afterwards where people will now take trips. It's a destination city. Like Cleveland is so amazing and I want more people to come there. And I feel like we did that like with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they have cedar point 30 minutes away,
Starting point is 00:53:15 which is the greatest amusement park that you could possibly have. The food's incredible. The city, the people. I mean, I think that whenever you can get a Super Bowl, a final four concerts, and people can fly into there, it generates so much money for your city. That is why I'm opting for the dome because, you know, that's what it draws. It draws more attention to your city. Now people are, well, I want attention for the city. I want it to be my city. It's like, okay, great. But do you like paying a ton of taxes and a ton of different things?
Starting point is 00:53:50 no, well, I'm paying for the dome. That's the tax. Yes, but you're going to get that money in return. You're going to get that money back because it's going to generate so much money for your city. This is just a whole thing that we don't even talk about. You know, let's get back to fantasy football, I guess. I don't know. What else you got, Ms?
Starting point is 00:54:06 10-year-old, 10-year-old Mike the Ms. Were you more into WWE wrestling at 10 or the NFL? I'm just curious a little bit more about your back on. I was a huge Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Sean Michaels, Brett Hart, you name it, I can name it for you. I was a huge wrestling fan. Gotcha. By the way, I never mentioned this to you, but do you remember he actually just passed away, Darren Drozdof? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, draws?
Starting point is 00:54:35 The draws, yeah. I, I played Babe Ruth baseball against him. I got beaned by him. He was. Really? Yeah, yeah. He's from South Jersey. Wow.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Wow. Yeah. That's amazing. That's incredible. You're old. But he, you know, he played the NFL. I'm just kidding. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:55 I don't know. I missed that. What did he see? What did we get there? I said you're old. Oh, I am old. Yeah, there's no doubt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:02 There is absolutely no doubt. But yeah, he actually played in the NFL did the draws. I don't know if you knew that, right? You knew that, right? I think I, I think I remember hearing that as well. You know who ended his career again? The man passed away. Unfortunately, Craig Ironhead.
Starting point is 00:55:17 Hayward ended his career in a collision. Isn't that wild? In football? Yeah. Oh, wow. I didn't know that. Yeah. He was a nose tackle for the Broncos. He was kind of well known for throwing up on the ball a couple of times. But same age as me, went to the competing high school. I believe his dad was like big athlete. He was a great athlete. But yeah, just throwing that out there. Brian, what other wrestling related nuggets would you like to share with the Miz? We can get our guy Thomas in here as well. Black Friday is here at IKEA and the clock is taking on savings you won't want to miss. Join IKEA family for free today and unlock deals on everything from holiday must-haves to cozy at-home essentials, all the little and big things you need to make this season shine.
Starting point is 00:56:03 But don't wait. Like leftovers at midnight, our Black Friday offers won't last. Shop now at IKEA.ca.ca.com slash Black Friday. Ikea. Bring home to life. Brother, I could sit here and talk all day as guy. I got my starting radio actually doing a wrestling talk show. I was in the building in Syracuse. This is probably not something I should even share with our audience. The night, it was a WCW Thunder when David Arquette won the world title.
Starting point is 00:56:32 I was in the building for that. It was, and we went on the air after it. We're like, I don't know what I just watched here. But yeah, like that was terrible. But I've been a couple of manias myself. I went to one at the garden, once I went to Skydome. Big wrestling fan, Mike. So it's just being the same age, just seeing you.
Starting point is 00:56:49 you come up loving the same wrestlers I did, and now you doing it because I'm 511, 150, and you're like 6 to, you know, 220. So you can actually go do those things. I'm more of the manager side of it, which I think down the line, you know, you could be either the best color commentator or very like Bobby Heenan style or, you know, a manager, have a big stable whenever your in-ring career is done. I think that's definitely in the card street. I don't know if you want to do that or not and keep traveling around.
Starting point is 00:57:16 You got a wife and two small kids, but I think you'd be phenomenal with that. But yeah, let's bring our guy Thomas in here. Thomas, for those who don't know, host our Dynasty Points podcast. And also a former pro wrestler, the guy has sent me clips of him beating up Kenny Omega in the ring. It's unbelievable, Thomas. Welcome to the show. Yeah. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:57:35 I just had one question specifically. A lot of people find it too difficult to keep up with the waiver wire. as somebody who is out traveling worldwide all the time, how do you manage the waiver wire? Is it like a special set time of the day where you sit there and you put aside and say, I am going to manage my waivers this week because a lot of people that just sit at home all the time
Starting point is 00:58:02 struggle with this. So I would love to get the Ms.'s insight on the waiver wire. Do you have a waiver wire butler, Mike? No, no, no. So I get angry when some of my friends, they like it, the waiver wire to start like right after the Monday night game, right? And then Tuesday, I'm like, you can't do that because Monday night after Raw is when I actually start doing my waivers and start. I just put them all in on Monday night after Raw. So I'm done with my TV.
Starting point is 00:58:32 It's time to just sit down, relax, chill out and get my head off of, because all I was thinking about Monday is what I need to do. how am I going to entertain this audience? What's going to happen? When you're done with all that and all that adrenaline, all that nervous energy, everything is done, that's where I sit down and I go, okay, what do we need to do? What kind of trades do I need to make? Who do I need to get? How do I elevate this team to where?
Starting point is 00:58:56 And who's the new guy? Who's the flavor of the week? Who's the guy that everyone's talking about that's like, oh, man, I got to get this. This is a game changer, blah, blah, blah. So that's where I do. all my my waivers and by the way the people that say i don't have time you do and you know as you have to do is figure out a certain time every single week to figure that out and you can even you can even put a reminder in your in your calendars right that does that mine i don't need a reminder because i know
Starting point is 00:59:28 every time after monday night raw that's when i do my waivers it's just what i do so you can do it you're just being lazy it's in your pocket folks it how is fantasy football in the W.W. locker room. I know. We have a new league starting. That's why I have six now. Because WWE has just formed a 10-man league with all WWEE superstars.
Starting point is 00:59:52 So we were supposed to draft yesterday, but four people couldn't be on it. So we have to figure out another one. And I'm like, guys, you can't do it the day of. Like the day of, I can't plan out my stuff. Like, I literally printed out my 200 cheat sheet with guru. And I was ready to just start crossing things off, right? Ready to go. And everyone's like, well, can't do it.
Starting point is 01:00:16 Four people can't make it. And it's like, you can't do that. Put it on blast. Who couldn't make it? We didn't point a time and a day and you stick to it. No matter what, you got a phone, you got a computer. If you have internet, you can do it. I'm guessing you don't waste hours upon hours every week scrolling through reels on
Starting point is 01:00:35 Instagram and other social media platforms, Mike, because you're, you're too, efficient you're a machine right i do you need to get better at that by the way you need to have a tic ticot handle an instagram handle and you need to put this on there and small little tidbits of these things because you're never in my uh you should be in my like uh al the rhythm at all time yeah i'm not an instagram guy i'm a quitter guy yeah i think you need to start getting those splices i mean i don't know if your team is just not not up to the task because they're so busy at fantasy point working on all the numbers and all that stuff. Well, duly noted, you're right.
Starting point is 01:01:15 I'm not quite the promoter that you are, but it's just been a blast, Mike. We really appreciate it. But any other questions here? We've been going for an hour. We can keep going. I don't know. Do we answer all your questions? I really felt better when you reached out and said, you know, I can't hear the radio.
Starting point is 01:01:33 What is your sleeper? What's your number? What's the guy that you're not leaving a draft without? well it's a boring one because it's Tyler Conklin and that's a guy you get at 200 but that's not boring that's honestly when I'm looking at these names and I'm going there's no one here and I usually just take a name there's usually I just take a name that like I know of like I could probably get something out of this person right right okay all right well let me give you a few more here hold on a second let me call it on up here because you know you're you're on the website I assume and you know I By the way, you said, hey, you know, if you want a comp, like I don't like your comps. No, I don't get, I support people that I believe in and that give, that literally I feel like are going to give me the information. So I invest, not invest. I guess I just, I do what everyone else does.
Starting point is 01:02:27 I go to fantasy points.com and I literally just get my package. There it is. I mean, hey, I appreciate it. You're a whole package, by the way. I know, I know you're big on like the whole like, you know. know you have these premium packages you have this you have the college packages you got the NFL i go for standard look just give me the standard i want you 200 and i want to be able to put my team in the in the in the in the in the little calculator thing i'm a bobber that literally tells me hey
Starting point is 01:02:57 you could should do this over this this week okay that's what i need thomas can upgrade you by the way just in case we don't want miss clicking any link where it asks him to upgrade so maybe we could we could we could we could that but i do appreciate that mike it's very nice of you to say of course so go ahead where are my sleepers oh oh yeah yeah yeah lost track uh the task at hand all right so let me let me come up some other names oh uh kaleale Shakir love it whoa i literally was just listening to fantasy uh on xm right fantasy sports on xm yeah and literally someone said i that is someone i'm avoiding I would not get him even if like I got paid a thousand dollars. Blocked that person.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Like who wasn't between seven and nine Eastern today because that was me and Brawley. Yeah. No, it's fantasy life. Who does fantasy life? Oh, it's great. It's Kendall and Adam Rowness. No, there's just, it was just one guy. Right.
Starting point is 01:03:54 Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he was on it. Either way, this guy said the person to avoid was that. Why would you get that? Why do you like him? I mean, he is going to be, I think, their top outside. receiver. I mean, he could play inside, of course, but, you know, he averaged like 16 yards of catch last year. He had like an 84% catch rate. Like the data on him was pretty ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:04:18 They lost everyone. The only receiver, wide receiver on the damn team now who's caught a pass from Josh Allen's Khalil Shakir. You know, you've got the rookie Kian Coleman. When are you getting him? That's what they said. Go get Keon Coleman because he's going to be the guy. I don't think so. I mean, he's flashy. He could make a good guru. You're different. You're different. You go against the grain and that's how you win your league. Yeah, Khalil Shakir is more of a lunch pale guy, but they're going to need someone to move the sticks, move the chains. Remember what Josh Allen was pepper and Cole Beasley with targets? Like it's somewhat similar. But Shakir's better, though, and he could do more outside. He's good. He's a very good player. What are you targeting him?
Starting point is 01:05:03 When? You know, he's a guy. you get him as like your fifth receiver oh yeah his ADPs in the middle of nowhere I'm looking at his sleeper ADP i mean this can't even be right anymore it says he's like a 12th round pick that's got to be got to be wrong i mean you in a home league i'd say 10th 11th round probably yeah i like josh palmer a lot for the chargers yep maybe me too josh palmer josh palmer yeah yeah i mean you know i know you i know you miss you're looking for the big upside But then then take Christian Watson. That's who I'm in on this year.
Starting point is 01:05:37 Christian Watson. You love Jordan Love. Exactly. Exactly. Okay. Last year, if you recall, I did love Jaden Reed last year. He was good. I mean, he was good.
Starting point is 01:05:46 I just think he's a little expensive this year. And Watson's flying around running like a deer. I saw him practice for a week. He's uncoverable. Let's see here. What's been stopping him from being an elite wide receiver? It's hamstring. Is that what it is?
Starting point is 01:06:02 Yeah. is he okay now he had some sort of weird imbalance thing and apparently it's been addressed and yeah so far so good i do like ray davis late you're looking i know uh brian brought him up earlier uh yeah i don't know if i'll take him over rico dowdell because rico dattle is going to have a role but i do really really really like ray davis i do like your boy our boy tajey spears redraft get them get him get him hundred picks in is i love him Okay, okay. Yeah, but Pollard doesn't really get injured, does he? Well, I mean, he did break his leg last year, the year before.
Starting point is 01:06:39 He was kind of coming off of that. You know, some way, shape, or former Spears is going to get it done, I feel. He's going to still get probably 15 touches every week. It's not a ton, but that's a pretty good number. I think we've kind of hit on, you know, there is a lot of uncertainty this year. I think there's going to be a lot of waiver wire moves early on that are going to be very important because there's just so many unknowns. we're not getting as much information this year and recent years after COVID teams are resting their guys
Starting point is 01:07:07 they're doing these trade a lot right you trade all the time like you're a big trader right yeah you're not a bad ever wire guy you go for trades and when you go for trades do you like do you're always trying to find the best you want the best player for like if you give two for ones and i'm looking to make my team necessarily i'm looking mike to make my starting lineup better so i will give up a little bit bit more. You know, let's say I have two good, I have a good running back and a good wide receiver. I'm willing to trade the good wide receiver and the good running back for a one great wide receiver or one great running back. You're looking for someone who just lost their running back. Look, you lost your running back. Here's a good running back and here's a good wide receiver.
Starting point is 01:07:52 I want your number one wide receiver. Boom. Always, always monitoring all the rosters, the strength and weaknesses, looking for potential trades. And look, I'm a fair person. You're a very fair person. I'm not looking to get over, but if I see an opportunity where, okay, they have this, I need that, I have that, they need that. You know, we can help, let's work together here. I'm a mutually beneficial relationship guy.
Starting point is 01:08:21 That's how I won the Fantasy League that we were in, the second year, the fantasy sports X-Series XM. Yeah. So Jerry Cantrell is a huge Pittsburgh fan, right? Loves Pittsburgh Steelers. So I offered him like Mike Wallace for, I think, Ray Rice. And this was like when I had Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, and I had a bunch of just, I had Tom Brady in his,
Starting point is 01:08:46 when it is an excellent year. Yeah. And I was just like, boom, that would set me over the edge of everything else. And I, that's how I won. That was a badass move. That was a badass move. That was a badass move. Brian, because we launched the channel.
Starting point is 01:09:01 We do this big live draft in New York City. I'm in the league. I win it. You know, I'm got, I should win it, right? And then year two, even bigger, I come in on the champ. Miz comes in. He's like, you suck. I'm taking you down.
Starting point is 01:09:17 I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he did. He took my ass down. I mean, I was very interesting. Finale. One, two, three. You're looking up at the lights and it's over, Google. New champ.
Starting point is 01:09:25 Yeah, it was over. It was over. Cash him in. Well, Mike, anything else you know where had to reach out to me? This has been great. I mean, I don't know if Thomas or Brian. I appreciate you guys. Always love hearing from you.
Starting point is 01:09:38 I love seeing you. I can actually see you on the on the on the on the on the on the cash now. So yeah, thank you guys very much for having me. Really appreciate a lot of good information. I feel like I'm going to dominate all six leagues. Win a ton of charity for Conner's Cure. So,
Starting point is 01:09:52 so I think I'm going to do well this year in fantasy football. All right. Thank you. Anything else to promote Ms. Real quick. before we go. I mean, we did a lot of promotion here. Monday Night Raw each and every Monday on USA. You can't beat it. All right. There he is. There he is. Follow Mike on Twitter at Mike the Miz. And you probably
Starting point is 01:10:10 already do. The guy has over three million Twitter followers. Jesus, Louise, I can't get the 10,000. Got to get the rub here. But I mean, you know, Twitter X, same thing. Yeah. Twitter. I need some more porn bots to follow me, I guess. However I can get over here. But yeah, watch Mike Monday's Monday Night Raw, bash it. Berlin coming up the next premium live event for WWA having a lot of fun. Lovin, you know, your work with Ron Killings, Our Truth there, has been, you know, back in the day was phenomenal. The fact that you guys could run that back as a fan who's watched a lot of wrestling over his time.
Starting point is 01:10:43 I'm glad they gave you guys that opportunity to have a little more fun. And I hope you enjoyed it too. We're having a blast right now. Honestly, our truth, every time we have anything together, I'm literally laughing because he's just, he's hysterical. He's so fun. He's so entertaining. Nice.
Starting point is 01:10:59 And that's what it's all about. All right, we got to follow up, Guru. We got to get somehow into this WWE League and like broadcast the draft or monitor it or weekly updates on the show. Something's got to go on here with this league. We got to get fantasy points involved with this WWE League somehow. Well, Mike can reach out whenever he needs any assistance.
Starting point is 01:11:17 You know where to reach me, Mike. Thanks again for the time. I had a really good time catching up with you. I'll probably do that draft with you in a couple weeks, though, for the Allison Change League. Let's do it. Didn't I win last year or two years ago? I'm not sure.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Yeah, I don't know. I forgot to ask you. It might have been last year or it might have been two years ago. Either way, I think it was last year. I win a lot of leagues. I think it was last year. Now I'm just finding this out. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:11:44 I win a lot of leagues. It's what I do. I listen to you and then I go out there and I win. We could talk some shit in a couple weeks for the broadcast. Game on. That's the commercial. It's all we need is I read your stuff. I win leagues.
Starting point is 01:11:55 Boom. There you go. All right, folks. Well, thanks to the guru. Thanks, Thomas, for keeping us on the air. Mike the Miz, a fantastic spot right here. We'll see you guys next week for the Fantasy Points Podcast.
