2025 NFL mock draft.
I'm Theo Greminger here on Fantasy Points with Brett Whitefield.
Brett and I have been dropping rookie content,
getting ready for this 2025 NFL draft.
And today we're actually going to do it.
We're going to drop all 32 picks for the actual NFL draft.
And we're joined today by Cody Carpenter, one of the best in the business when it comes to evaluating these prospects and the NFL draft itself.
Cody, what do you have going on this time of year?
Theo, Brett, I appreciate you guys having me on.
Yeah, all my NFL draft stuff is over at roster watch.com.
And then I got a daily show, the draft rankings podcast on YouTube and on podcast wherever you get your shows.
It's a sub 10 minute show every morning, just talking about something.
nothing to do with the NFL draft. So I appreciate you guys having me on.
Yeah, I highly recommend all of Cody's work. And I know, Cody, you're jamming out NFL mock drafts.
Brett, you've got your NFL mock draft pre-combine coming out. I'm working on an NFL mock draft pre-combine.
So again, if you're listening to this six weeks from now, this is pre-NFL combine. So a lot is going to be shifting.
But the way we're going to do this, we're going to have a lot of fun.
We're going to say what we think the team is going to do with the pick.
and then we'll say what we think they should do with the pick.
So again, we're covering all 32 teams.
We're going to share what we think the NFL team is going to do with their pick.
And then we'll share if we were the GM, if we're Galaxy Brain in it,
what we would do for that franchise to improve it.
We're going to start right at the 101.
We're kicking it over to Brett Whitefield.
Brett, you are the Tennessee Titans at the 101.
Which way are you going?
Good Lord.
All right.
will take, or sorry, should take first. I would go, I'm going to go Jackson Dart here. We're
to start this with a flag plant. You know, I'd go Jackson Dart. I think when I look at QB play,
the things I value the most, Jackson Dart does the best. He's going to, you know, run the
offense way it's supposed to be run, throw within rhythm. I charted all these guys. There's in a
quarterback that throws in rhythm more than Jackson Dart. The intermediate and downfield accuracy
is, is superb. He's got some growth, you know, he's got a developmental runway ahead of him for
sure the offense he comes from is a little strange we've seen quarterbacks from similar
offenses have great success though recently in jaden danels and bow necks so i i would go jackson dart
however i think that if they're not training back they're going to stand pat and probably go abdul
carter here abdul carter off the board and cody your thoughts on jackson dart this is brett's
favorite quarterback uh he's been sort of like effusive in his jackson dart praise pound in the table
multiple podcasts where is cody carpenter on at with jackson dart right now
Yeah, I don't know if he's quite in that conversation yet, obviously, because Brett's going to be the first person to ever have him.
Number one overall, if you could look at the NFL mock draft database right now, as far as the big board goes, Brett's got the highest mock, I think at sixth the Raiders in his official mock.
So I think we'll see a lot more as the combine comes next week.
And I was having this conversation with Alex there today.
I wonder if Cam and Shudor are going to throw at the combine.
And if they don't, which they both are the same quarterback coach, if they don't, it opens the door for guys.
like Jackson Dart to potentially take on that role as, you know,
taking more steps forward.
We've seen Todd McShay talk about Dart and Shador in the same breath competing for QB2.
Why can't that become QB1?
So I think it's flag plant, yes, but I don't think it's outrageous by any means.
Abdul Carter officially off the board.
Cody, you are the Cleveland Browns, almost dropped an NBA reference in there.
Cleveland Brown's OTC, this pick has, people are kind of,
kind of all over the place on which way Cleveland is going to go.
Who are they going to select, Cody?
And then what would you do at the 102 if you were running the Browns?
I think what they should do and what they will do, obviously, two different things.
What they should do is take an edge rush or an Abdul Carter and continue to kind of bolster up this defense.
Let that Deshaun Watson thing kind of take its course.
If they could potentially get out of some of that money, that'd be awesome,
potentially go after a Sam Donald, bring back James Winston,
and I would just kind of, they're in a weird spot.
Browns are always in a weird spot.
So I think they should take Abdul Carter to continue to build that defense up
and try to bring Miles Garrett back and have just a disgusting duo on the edge.
But what they will do, I think if shooting in this spot,
and if Abdul Carter is off the board, they run up with that Cam Ward ticket
and they try to get that quarterback of the future.
Yeah, for me, I think that you sort of nailed it.
I think that Cleveland can't pass on a quarterback if Carter is off the board.
I know I've seen a lot of people kind of mock Travis Hunter here.
But you're not in this position too often.
And this is a franchise with obviously the Sean Watson situation.
They need a chance to get it right at the quarterback position.
And I'm sitting here at the 103.
Abdul Carter's off the board.
Cam Ward's off the board.
I'm going to go with Chedur Sanders.
And this seems like a franchise that's been attached to Shudor Sanders,
where New York is sort of in a similar boat as Cleveland.
They're in a transition period at the quarterback spot.
they're picking in the top five.
Last year they passed on a number of quarterbacks in order to take Malik neighbors.
They tried to move up and get Drake May.
They were rebuffed by New England.
This year they go and get a huge quarterback upgrade with Shadurr Sanders,
a player who I know Brett, you've been praising over the years,
and I think it's sort of a little bit of prospect fatigue in the community.
Shadurr Sanders, I think, is a long-term answer at quarterback for New York.
Easy pick for me at the 103.
I love that we're three picks in.
We've already talked about three different quarterbacks.
That's cool because this class is definitely like that where we don't have that clear number one, right?
And I think you can make an argument for all these guys.
I do like Cam Ward.
I do like Shadour Sanders.
So that's pretty cool from a fantasy standpoint, though, guys, since this is on the Fantasy Points channel.
We should probably talk about that.
What do you think Shedwer's ceiling is as a quarterback?
He doesn't really have a lot of mobility and athleticism.
He's kind of a prototype throwback pocket passer.
I think he's on that CJ Stroud, Jared Gough,
spectrum a little bit. I've called him Cheduro because he reminds me of Joe Burrow, but I even think
he has less mobility than that. So that's interesting. What do you guys think from a fantasy standpoint here?
I think you're 100% spot on kind of with that bucket you place him into. It's why I love the Las Vegas thing.
Maybe it's stupid or cocking in me or whatever. But I mean, the thought of Tom Brady being the guy that
is in the building every single day working with a guy like Chador, I think is would only help
Shador's game grow and I think would
would maybe get us the peak
or the ceiling of what Shador is.
The Giants scares me a little bit.
I'll be honest with you. I'm not sure if I
see the Stroudboro end of the spectrum coming to fruition
if he is in New York in a,
you know, three months from now, but
I'm 100% in line with everything you said,
Brett, about what Shador is, how he kind of
projects the athleticism or lack thereof,
surprisingly, with obviously Dian being his dad. So
I've always liked Shadour. I think he has
of all these guys, the most likely to kind of make it through to see the light on the air side of the tunnel.
Yeah, and I'll add that my, who I would have picked, it would have been a quarterback for New York,
Cam Ward or Sanders. So I'll stick with Sanders for both in our, in our little practice we're doing here.
And I'd say like for me, the floor with Chodor Sanders is he's going to be like Seattle, Gino Smith.
I don't think this is a guy that's going to fail as a pro.
I think there's a lot of people out there trying to poke holes in his game.
the last name Sanders certainly does that, makes him a lightning rod for a lot of people.
But I think this is a guy that's a safe pick for a lot of organizations.
I don't see him getting to that borough level, but I could see him hitting like some of the
instant success we saw from guys like C.J. Stroud and his rookie season, Bo Nix last year.
I've got to remember, Sanders is also super, super experienced.
And he's played behind poor offensive lines before.
So he's had to deal with adversity.
I think that's going to end up helping him getting to New York.
And there's some weapons there for him to succeed.
Obviously, just have tunnel vision, get Malik neighbors the ball.
Good things will happen.
Brett, back to you.
You are at the 104, New England Patriots.
And if you're scoring at home here, we are Abdul Carter off the board and consecutive
quarterback picks with Cam Ward going at the 102 and Shadurr Sanders off the board at the 103.
Yeah, so this offseason for New England has to be all about, you know, building that
ecosystem up for Drake May. And so, you know, that that brings two prospects right to mind for me,
I guess a Will Campbell from LSU or a Tet McMillan. I think you could even throw Tyler Warren in
there as a dark horse guy. Theo, you and I talked about that yesterday. It's like, it's probably not
off the table technically. He might be, you know, I think he's close to a blue chip prospect and
he kind of fits the culture bill that Vrabel's looking for. Long story short, I think the pathway to
upgrading at the offensive line position for agency is not
great. And I think they're going to have to go offensive line here. Will Campbell, I'm probably
lower on him than consensus, but I think that's probably what they end up doing. So they're going to
go Will Campbell. I would probably take Tet, though, if I was making the pick. Cody, I know you're
high on Will Campbell. You like this fit for New England? I wouldn't say the first part. I wouldn't
say I'm high on Will Campbell as much as like I've just loved this spot. Pretty much everything
Brett said, I've mocked him here multiple times because of the situation you're in.
I'm not of the belief that really there's an elite tackle in this group.
I think that Campbell and Banks are both really good.
I think Mambu from Missouri projects well.
I think Simmons is obviously coming off an injury from Ohio State.
Like there's a lot of offensive linemen in the conversation.
But I think Campbell's maybe the surest thing that could just come in here on day one and protect Drake May.
So that's been my spot for, I don't know, the better part of two months as far as the New England Patriots go.
Yeah, I think there'll be some groans.
from fantasy football community if New England passes on a scope position player here,
but I get it.
Got to protect your franchise quarterback and Drake May.
We're going to take a quick break and we come back.
Cody Carpenteer is on the clock, Duval and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Welcome back.
Fantasy Points NFL mock draft, Brett Whitefield and Theo Graminger, joined by Cody Carpenter of
roster watch.
Cody, you're on the clock now.
We're talking about the Jacksonville Jaguars, new head coach.
a lot of returning players that were sort of interested for fantasy, namely Brian Thomas,
obviously Trevor Lawrence back.
Which way is Jacksonville going to go in the NFL draft this year?
Jacksonville is an interesting one.
I just went on local Jacksonville 1010 XL radio to talk about this.
And a year ago, I went on the same channel talking to a couple of guys down there.
And I was like Graham Barton should have been the play.
That's who I thought they should have drafted.
They ended up going Brian Thomas.
It obviously works out because Brian Thomas does what he does, double-digit touchdowns over 1,000 yards, yada, yada.
But you still have a problem on the offensive line.
I think you still have a need at defensive line.
And, of course, you didn't have a single cornerback with better than a 66 PFF grade.
Tyson Campbell is included in that conversation.
So I think you have multiple opportunities here, whether you're looking at a banks to come in there and play a left tackle or left guard,
whether you're looking at a Mason Graham, really, Travis Hunter.
There's a lot of options here.
As far as what I would do, if it was me, what they should do, they should obviously always.
bolster up the offensive line and protect Trevor Lawrence.
Take yourself at Kelvin Banks.
That would be my play.
What they will do is they're going to sprint up to that thing
and turn in the Travis Hunter card because it's the fifth pick overall.
And this is for a lot of people, the best player in the draft,
side by side with Abdul Carter.
And he's here at five.
He's from Florida, Florida, Georgia area.
And he can play cornerback on day one,
opposite of Tyson Campbell,
and they can play him out there on offense a little bit once they cut Christian
Kirk and move on from Gabe Davis.
Yeah, I agree on this.
I think they'd sprint to the podium with the Travis Hunter pick.
This would be like sort of like add one of the best players in the draft.
I think Hunter at five would be a real value.
Brett, anything to add on Jacksonville situation?
No, I think Cody pretty much nailed it.
At some point, Travis Hunter has to go.
He's probably the best player in the draft.
And so why not a team like Jacksonville who, you know, just add blue chip talent?
That's what you're going to do.
I also, their pass rush is in decent hands right now.
Trayvon Walker kind of came on.
Josh Allen's good.
So putting a nice cornerback duo out there with those guys in front of you.
I think that's a really nice setup on defense to get that new coaching staff, you know, get their feet wet and get that defense turned around.
Yeah.
And for both of you guys, quick question.
Liam Cohen is a guy that averaged 29 points per game last year in Tampa Bay as the offensive coordinator.
It's a guy where the fantasy community is excited about Liam Cohen.
Now you got Travis Hunter, obviously, going to the combine as a cornerback.
You guys were right.
I wanted to be a wide receiver,
but you guys sort of talked to me off of that one.
Cody,
how much of an impact can Travis Hunter make offensively
in a Liam Cohen offense specialist?
Or do you think this is a situation
where he could actually score more fantasy points
than several other landing spots in the top 10?
Score more fantasy points than similar spots in the top 10
is debatable, I think, in totality,
because there's spots here that obviously need more weaponry in the outside.
the Combine designation doesn't really matter to me.
DB wide receiver.
Like we knew he was going to be a DB.
He still probably,
I would venture to bet is asked on Saturday at the Combine
to go out there and run some routes for scouts.
Wouldn't shock me one bit.
Wouldn't shock me one bit if they have 10 to 12 plays for
and built in on a weekly basis.
So as far as like fantasy football goes,
I think he's still going to always end up being,
end of the first round 9, 10, 11, 12 in your dynasty rookie draft picks.
It's either going to burn you or it's going to make you,
or it's going to make you money one other way one or other way but i think there's going to be an
opportunity here for him to play both sides no i love it and i'm i'm o tc here at the 106 i think that this is a
tough one and i do think that if hunter falls i think that that los vegas would look to make a move up
and get him um but here if if vegas is sitting here at the 106 i could go with brett sky jackson
dart. I could go with an early Ashton Gentie pick. Certainly, Pete Carroll taking a cornerback
would be sort of par for the course. And I think Mason Graham would be sort of a best available.
But for me, it's Tet McMillan. Ted McMillan and a Chip Kelly offense, I'd actually get really
excited about. And I like the fit of Tet McMillan, not only for a Las Vegas Raiders team need,
where I think he'd fit in very well with Jacoby Myers and obviously Brock Bowers for whoever is
the quarterback, giving them a set of a trio of weapons.
But I also think that Tet McMillan is a player that is a foundational piece of the
offense.
And instead of necessarily just taking a quarterback, they did what they did last year.
They took the best offensive player available with Bowers.
And now they add another piece that's a long-term foundational pick in Ted McMillan.
Ted McMillan off the board at the 106.
And that's really what I probably would do as well.
beautiful that'd be a great spot minus you know they don't have a quarterback yet but you know who knows
maybe they're an erin rogers spot and then you get a year of tett and bowers with aaron rogers that
that would be fun right uh well in this scenario the the jets are sprinting the podium and they will take
jackson dart and they should take jackson dart so that's an easy one for me um and i think that's
actually a pretty realistic outcome if the board fell this way i i know the community's not there yet
I do think Jackson Dart at the end of the day is at worst, top, yeah, I guess seven pick.
I think that's probably his floor.
So I do think that happens.
I don't hate that.
I mean, they obviously need a quarterback.
They need to go that direction in some way, shape, or form.
Obviously, the San Bernard thing seems completely unlikely.
Aaron Rogers isn't going to return.
Why not take the rookie contract approach and spend money elsewhere?
where I think they have like $15 million, so not a lot at all.
They're actually in the lower quarter quarter of the NFL.
So I like the direction with the quarterback position.
Go ahead, Brett.
I was just to say the only downside of doing it is a new regime, new coaching staff.
The first QB decision you make is usually when your clock starts.
So it's like, does Aaron Glenn really want to start that clock now?
Or does he want to build the culture first, get the right personnel, you know, around the roster there,
and then add the quarterback in a year or two?
So that's the only downside to do in this is that you kind of start that clock a little early.
That means you're probably playing, if you don't do it, you're probably playing with a Jordan
Travis who's on the roster, a what, James, something like, you're Tyrod Taylor, like you're probably,
that's probably where you're at, no?
Yeah.
That's kind of great.
Bridge quarterback or Jackson Dart, but I do think there's one thing that's interesting.
The Jets getting to pick a quarterback in the top 10 without having to move up and burn additional
draft capital, that might be something.
something that they look at as like prudent,
especially since Cody,
you mentioned just how thin this quarterback market is.
So just to recap,
Brett took,
Brett as the Tennessee Titans took Abdul Carter at the one.
Cody as the Cleveland Browns took Cam Ward at the two.
I took Chedura Sanders as the New York Giants pick at three.
Brett took Will Campbell,
the offensive tackle from LSU at the 104 for the New England Patriots.
Cody representing the Jacksonville Jaguars took Travis Cunter.
the cornerback slash wide receiver out of Colorado at the 105.
At the 106, the Las Vegas Raiders select Seth McMillan,
wide receiver, Arizona.
And at the 107, the New York Jets, GMed by Brett Whitefield,
took Jackson Dart, the quarterback from Ole Miss.
Cody, OTC with the Carolina Panthers.
This is an interesting team, year two with Dave Canales.
Bryce Young was sort of left for dead and had a resurgence end of the season.
Interesting team.
There's some talent there.
I like where Carolina's at.
I liked more where they were at like three years ago.
I thought that they were an up-and-coming defense.
But I think this pick is going to be defense,
whether it's D-Line or cornerback.
They do have Derek Brown and, yeah, Derek Brown and Shai Tuttle,
who they just picked up for agency a couple years ago.
So I'm not going to go that direction.
I'm going to say they should and they will run up
and draft Will Johnson, the cornerback out of Michigan,
who could be in a conversation for that Jacksonville,
pick a couple of spots ahead.
J.C. Horn, I loved, and he's been battling with injuries.
And he's been a little overwhelming at times,
but I think if you can get another guy on the opposite side of Jay C. Horn,
you can have an elite back end in Carolina.
Love it.
Anything to add on that one, Brett?
No, I do.
Jay C. Horn, man, when he's on the field and healthy, he's been good.
The availability has been an issue, and he's not great playing through injuries.
But, man, you give him Will Johnson to their side.
That's just going to make him better.
Yeah, so here we have Will Johnson go off the board to Carolina.
New Orleans at nine, this sort of seems like a wild card pick.
Who do I think they should take?
I think they should probably go with Mason Graham,
who at this point would be my favorite defensive player on the board.
I know they'd be looking for an edge rusher,
but I think with Graham, he could be a disruptive interior lineman
and sort of a set it and forget it guy that makes any NFL defense better.
But who I think they will take, guys, I think this is where
we see Ashton Gentie go off the board.
They hire Kellynne Moore.
You hire Kellynne Moore, an offensive-minded coach.
You get an opportunity to take what some people think is the best offensive talent in the draft.
And I realize that they have Alvin Kamara,
but this is a franchise that extended Alvin Kamara.
I think this is one where New Orleans saw Derek Henry and Sequin Barkley leave their
teams, have all this success and said, you know what?
We're just going to let Alvin Kamara retire as a New Orleans saint.
And when you think about stylistically, what way can I protect the guy like Derek Carr and get this Kellynne Moore offensive experiment rolling?
Let's get him the best offensive player in the draft and let's have a dual-headed running back at least for a year or two.
Let Alvin Kamara age gracefully into somewhat of a James White role when he gets a little older.
And then this year, these two guys could be a hypercharged, way more versatile Jemir Gibbs, David Montgomery combination, where both.
of these guys could succeed.
It protects the quarterback and they take the best offensive player.
Ashton Genti off the board at the 109.
Roast me, guys.
Let me know.
No, I had a feeling you were going to do this for sure because you've been kind of teasing it a little bit here.
But I don't think Kimmeros is prohibitive necessarily to them taking Janty.
I just can't imagine a world personally where they pass on a talent like Mason Graham for a running back.
That would be talking about a team that's in salary cap hell.
The only way to add premium players at premium positions is through the draft.
If this would make my head hurt, I would like, I'd feel bad for Kellmore of this happened, to be honest with you.
But for fantasy, it'd be great.
So whatever.
I got one question.
And I've the same boat.
I would Mason Graham, Kelvin Banks, one of these, like something of much more consequence to roster, you know,
roster ship and team building.
Even if you went like, I wouldn't be mad if you took a quarterback here,
even though I don't think Mill Road belongs.
You're like, take a something worth something to rebuilding this team.
One question.
That's all I got for you guys.
You're $51 million in the hole right now.
Hypothetically, you can forfeit your pick right here.
And you get all your debts wiped out.
Would you do it?
Oh, yes.
Easy.
100%.
100%.
I think that would make the draft so exciting, Cody.
That would make the draft so exciting if teams could actually do that.
That would be great.
When we come back, Brett Whitefield is OTC.
I just sniped him on the gentie pick.
and the Chicago Bears are on the clock.

Welcome back. Fantasy Points. NFL mock draft. Theo Greminger and Brett Whitefield,
joined by Cody Carpenter. This has been a blast so far. We're already at pick number 10.
We are rolling by, guys. Incredible pace right here. Chicago Bears, another team with an exciting
head coaching hire this offseason. Ben Johnson is Caleb Williams year two. Brett Whitefield,
what are the Chicago Bears going to do?
what would you do if you were OTC here?
I'm about to make things interesting.
That's what I'm going to do.
I want to get Ben Johnson a toy.
That's what I want to do.
I know which way you're going.
I know which where you're going.
There's one left.
I think as far as premium talent,
there's one left.
And that's Tyler Warren.
So we're going,
we're going tight end Tyler Warren here.
We're getting him a dude,
a culture setter,
a tone setter,
a guy who,
we know how much Ben loves the run game.
Tyler's going to give you so much gas.
on the run game as an inline blocker there. And then obviously he's just a dog as a receiver.
He's going to help Caleb Williams get to back the playing within structure and throwing the
ball within rhythm. He's going to have a great checkdown outlet option and Warren as well.
Just makes a ton of sense. I'm actually talking myself into it in real life as well.
Like I think they should do this and we'll do this if the board falls this way. This should be,
this would be fun. Cody, do you add out of the Tyler Warren pick? I think we'll be
fun makes sense would be fun could it fit yes my problem my only sticking point here is the comette
gerald everett taking up 17 million dollars in contracts based this year commets got two more years
11 million dollars like they can get out of that though right they got out after uh 2026 so so it's
like i get i theoretically i agree with you 100 percent that the putting teleworth of that offense
I don't know if I could pass up on an offensive lineman, though.
I can already think about my reaction on draft night if this happened.
I would say, yo, guys, the last time we saw Ben Johnson get a rookie tight end of note,
we had the tight end one overall in Sam Laporta.
So it's sort of like basically repeating itself.
I love it.
11 overall, San Francisco, you got some great names on the board here, Cody.
I think San Francisco would be loving life at the 11th pick with some of these names still left
on the board for them.
Well, I don't think that they'll even say the San Francisco 49ers are on the clock and the pick will already be sent in, right?
To me, this is a layup Mason Graham selection here for the San Francisco 49ers, the defensive tackle from Michigan.
fills a need right there on defensive tackle.
They've been trying to fill out the last couple of years since they lost Eric Armstead.
They got Malik Collins under contract, but they're losing Javon Hargrave to a free agency who they gave a big bag to a couple of years ago.
Mason Graham is maybe the easiest pick all have today.
I don't know if you saw it, but I typed it in before you even started talking.
And a California native too, which is sort of a cool thing for him to go back to his home state.
Yeah, I mean, I think this would be the biggest layup pick ever for San Francisco if Mason Graham was still on the board.
And, guys, he might go as high as like five in the draft.
So this might be the best value selection so far.
The 112 here, I'm OTC with the Dallas.
Cowboys. And I would have selected Gentie if he was still available, but of course, I took him at
nine. And I would have selected Ted McMillan here if he was available, but of course I selected
him at six. So I'm going to go here and I'm going to stay in state. I'm going to go with
Kelvin Banks, which is a player that I think makes sense for Dallas to take. I think that he
fills a big need for them. They sort of have remade their offensive line. I think Banks is
plug and play guy, which instantly helps their O-line. And that's actually who I would take and actually
who I think they should take with all these guys on the board. I think there's going to be a lot of
people projecting them to take maybe an edge rusher. I think there'll be a lot of people saying
that they're going to take a wide receiver here. But I think when it comes down to it,
there's about three offensive linemen that I would consider. And I think Banks is really just going to be a
long-term, very, very solid starter at the NFL level and a chance to be a long-term,
high-end Cowboys O-Linman.
And it also helps these from in-state.
I always love that when Dallas gets access to those Texas boys.
And Cody, you cover the Texas Longhorns for Orange Bloods.
Your thoughts on Kelvin Banks, the prospect.
I think it's a great spot here because, you know, a lot of people are projecting him to
play guard.
We'll see what those official measurables are next week if he's got 34-inch arms.
I think he's going to be mighty close.
I'm not sure he's going to quite get this.
there. But the last time the Cowboys did this where they took offensive linemen three out of four years in the first round, Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zach Martin. They didn't quite win a ship because that's not what Dallas does, but they at least played well for us, right? So Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton, Kelvin Banks, that's three offensive linemen in the first round in four years. So we'll see what happens. So that's a great point. So what's your starting five looking like? Because what if Zach Martin's a free agent, but they could very well bring him back and make him retire a cowboy?
So you don't really have a spot at either guard situation.
You got Tyler Guyton at one of the tackle spots.
Deard Steele is not a bad player.
What do you, you know, what's your starting five look like?
I think you probably got Guyton at left tackle.
I mean, Tyler Smith, I think, can move a little bit.
So you could potentially put Tyler Smith to right guard, put Kelvin at left guard,
B, be at center, Terrence Steele at right tackle.
I'd probably, is what I would try to do, move Tyler Smith to right guard.
If Martin's not back.
If Martin is back, then, of course, you're a little more.
a little more tight.
I think so I think it's also like
offensive line depth. Philadelphia has showed
this for years taking these offensive linemen
when they present themselves.
And the versatility is a plus.
So Banks is a guy where, you know, we're not sure
what position he's going to play in the league.
I think eventually he'll be a tackle.
But the fact that he can go inside and outside
play tackle, play guard,
and be a plug and play guy with versatility,
I think it is a bonus for him.
And we see a couple of linemen, spoiler alert that we're going to be saying their names
where we are not 100% on their NFL position,
but I think this class has versatile linemen.
So we are kicking it back to Brett Whitefield, OTC, Miami Dolphins, pick number 13.
This is, gosh, I would have taken banks here.
So this is, I keep sniping you.
You do.
You keep sniping me.
you know, let's go.
We're going to stick with the offensive line train.
I think they should and would take Ohio State tackle Josh Simons.
And I know he's coming off of an ACL, but I don't care.
I think if he was healthy and finished the season healthy,
I think there's an argument he would have been a top 10 pick easily.
He was on that trajectory.
So I think he might be the most gifted natural tackle in this class, actually.
No pushback for me.
And I think I'll pick it to you, Cody, Will Campbell or Simons if he never got hurt.
It might be closer.
I'd probably still go Will Campbell.
I think he's better athlete.
Okay, that is fair.
Let's go to you, Cody, OTC pick number 14 with the Indianapolis Colts.
So my last mock, I put Tyler Warren here.
You obviously got him a couple of picks ago.
Colston Loveland's interesting.
I think you could go edge.
I think you could go DB here.
I think you know what I'm just going to do.
I'm just going to go.
I'm tough.
This is tough.
I think that that dolphin pick and the Colts pick are two incredibly tough ones.
I think you always get to here in the middle part of round one.
I'm just going to go ahead and go Colston Loveland here is what they will do.
Yeah.
What they should do, what they should do is they should take.
Jill and Milrow and they should just make these guys Konami it out.
That would that would certainly be good for the content. Brett, we talked about the gravitational
poll of Tyler Warren. Tyler Warren, like I think that the logical thing, and I'm sure if I
ask you guys, like, where, when are the two tight ends off the board? I think that the smart money
answer is they both go in the top 20. But I think that like this situation, they both go inside of
the top 14. So we might have a chance.
where Tyler Warren goes ahead of a team that thought he might fall to them,
and they like the Colston Loveland profile so much that,
like Brett, we talked about this scenario where it could be two in the top 15,
and here we get it with Cody's pick of Loveland to Indianapolis.
Great fit for Indy.
Your thoughts on this one, Brett?
Yeah, I'm like, I'm with Cody.
I mocked Tyler Warren to Indy and my only published mock currently,
so I totally see it.
And I think Loveland's floor is 22, so this is not ridiculous.
by any stretch.
Like this is,
this is for sure something that's in play.
You'd have to feel great about it for Richardson, too.
It's like,
how many weapons can this guy have?
You know,
if he continues to fail,
then that's not good.
100%.
Okay, so I'm OTC here
with the Atlanta Falcons.
This is a team where I think if the situation presents itself,
I think that,
and their OTC here at pick number 15,
I think they're going to take Luther Bird
it just seems like a natural fit for Atlanta.
You get a secondary pass catcher to compliment,
to compliment what they have in Drake London.
They get Luther Burden on the artificial turf,
playing indoor games for most of the season.
It would be an exciting landing spot for him.
What would I do?
What would I do is I would end up taking,
gosh, this is a tough one.
I would go on the defensive side of the ball.
And I think for me, I would go with an edge rusher and I would take Mike Green out of Marshall, who we saw down at the Senior Bowl.
I think Green would be a good value here.
I think this is a player that could pressure the quarterback right away.
I had a very positive week in the Senior Bowl.
I think he'll have a positive week at the Combine.
That's the way I would go.
But I do think Luther Burden, off the board, 15 overall, that's the way that Atlanta will go with their pick.
Thoughts on this one.
Cody first and then Brett because this is a big this is a big debate between you two guys.
Well, I mean, don't get me wrong.
I love Luther Burden.
He's my top receiver.
But like this is, it's a fireable offense to be Terry Fontno and to go tight end receiver,
running back quarterback receiver five consecutive years in the NFL draft and not address
the defensive line when Byron Murphy's sitting there staring at you right in the eyes.
when there's DBs all over the field
when this defensive line class is epic
and you got a Kenneth Grant
or Walter Nolan, you got to James Pierce
like there's all these
other things that you can address
to help a defense
rather than just sitting here
and like you have a quarterback now in Pennix,
you know that, right?
You believe it anyways.
And you have weaponry on offense.
Why do you need to have another weapon?
Why can't you just, you know,
why can't a darned al-Muni or Rayer McLeod work?
They worked last year a little bit.
That would be my talk.
on brand, an on brand pick for the Atlanta Falcons guys.
They stick with it.
They take another wide receiver.
Luther Burden off the board.
Brett and Cody,
you guys have differing opinions on burden.
Ultimately,
Cody,
where do you think he ends up getting drafted,
like if you had to give a over under on the pick?
Oh,
over under on where he gets picked would probably be starting,
I guess,
with the Saints at nine and with a floor of,
of the bills at 30.
Brett, where do you end up seeing him?
You know, I think there's a fair chance the NFL is higher on him than I am.
So I'll say back into the first round, I think, is reasonable.
Somewhere 25 to 32.
Okay, so there we go.
Luther Burden off the board.
Brett Whitefield on the clock with the Arizona Cardinals.
Oh, boy.
This is another one I constantly have trouble with.
I think they could go a number of ways.
They need cornerback help.
They need edge help.
They need interior D-line help.
Like this is a mess.
They could always use offensive line help too.
Gosh, man.
I hate being in the spot.
I think it's going to be a little bit of a wild card here.
I think maybe they look at a guy like Jalen Walker.
edge off ball hybrid.
I'm not necessarily a big Walker guy myself,
but I look at the way John Gannon and he used Hassan Reddick in Philly.
And I think,
I mean,
that's my comp for Jalen Walker actually is Hassan Reddick.
I think you get some similarities there.
James Pierce would be another one.
I'd tee up here.
This guy you can move around the formation.
He's really competent in space.
He can drop off into coverage.
That's the way they like to use those edge guys.
So it's like a supercharged Dennis Gardek,
you know,
and Jalen Walker.
So I feel like that's a Gannon type of edge player.
You know, he's a little undersized, but he's still got some heavy hands.
And he can drop and play in space and all the things that they value in Arizona on defense.
I think he brings out to the table.
So a little, probably a little early for him, but I just feel like the team, it's a really good team player fit.
When you look at Walker, Cody, how important will the NFL combine be for him?
I don't know if it'll be important person.
I mean, it's important for all these guys.
but how important.
I don't expect him to be like an Abdul-Carter
or James Pierce freak-level athlete.
I think it's fine.
I mean, he's super young.
I think he showed in big games what he could do this past year.
I think him and my net,
I mean, I'm just going to take the Georgia guy next anyway,
but I think that those two Georgia defenders,
Mikel Williams and Jalen Walker,
they've been steaming up a lot of boards lately.
And I'm much more in line with the Mikel-Williams side of things
as far as projecting him as a player.
But I think Jalen Walker's,
I'll be interested to see how he's utilized
in the NFL at the next level
because he's listed as like an inside linebacker
and I think he'd probably be more successful
off the edge.
I'm right there with you, by the way.
I like Mikel a little bit better.
I'm actually lower on Mikel than consensus too.
I think when it's all sudden done,
he's like a roughly 20th pickish.
I don't think he's going to test great.
And that Georgia defense is weird.
but I agree with you on both those guys.
I think you nailed that.
Jalen Walker probably needs to play, you know,
some type of Sam linebacker or stand-up edge defender.
He can play off the ball a little bit,
but that's where I like him too.
Okay, we're going to take a quick break.
And when we come back,
I'm going to be on the clock with the Seattle Seahawks.
Welcome back, Fantasy Points, NFL mock draft,
Brett Whitefield, Theo Greminger,
joined today by Cody Carpenteer.
I'm OTC with Seattle.
This is a pick where you're seeing,
people mock it in different ways. I think you're seeing a lot of offensive linemen being selected.
I think you're also seeing edge rusher for some. And for me, I do think that this is going to be
an opportunity to draft an offensive lineman. And I'm going to go with Armand Membo from
Missouri, one of the younger offensive linemen in the draft, another guy with versatility.
I think that this is a good fit for him for Seattle, because I think he's, because I think he
he can bump inside as a young player, just play guard right away.
I know that a lot of people are projecting to play tackle,
but he's a little bit short.
So for me, I like taking Membue here at pick number 18.
Brett and Cody, any thoughts about this one?
It's good value.
Yep.
Great, great value.
I think he's gotten a lot of steam like we talked about the last couple of guys upboards.
I know Dan Bruegler has Membue ahead of Kelvin Banks as a prospect,
believes he's a better tackle than Banks is.
debatable. I didn't think he was the best down there at the Senior Bowl,
like some people did. But that is what it is.
I mean, the Seahawks need offensive linemen, period.
Brett, we are kicking it back over to you.
Great pace, guys. We are 18 picks in.
Tampa Bay is extending Chris Godwin for two years.
This was a spot where, Cody, I had projected Tampa Bay to take a,
a wide receiver multiple spots.
Brett, with wide receiver seemingly addressed,
which way do you think Tampa Bay goes with this pick?
Oh, man.
I think it's got to be on the D-line.
Their pass rush last year was abysmal,
let them down in every big game.
So I think they got to go pass rush.
I got to figure out which one I want, though.
Like, I love the idea of like a James Pierce in that blitz heavy scheme.
We're going to move him around and get him, you know,
picks and stunts and twists and get him free free lanes at the quarterback.
That sounds sexy to me.
But a Samar Stewart freak athlete,
edge setter type is kind of what they've gone with in the past.
Gosh.
Let me go.
Let me go James Pierce here.
I think the athletic profile,
the way Todd Bowles will use him is going to be kind of perfect for his skill set
and kind of minimize some of those deficiencies I see in his game.
So I'm going James Pierce here.
Cody, any thoughts about,
James Pierce. Well, I think that the Feldman's freak list last year, Bruce Feldman had Pierce
ranked, I think, 19th on that list. And he said that there's murmurs of Pierce running in the low
four-fours at 250, 255 pounds. So if that happens, I think you're going to get a little more
juice back into that Pierce name that we saw coming into the season as like a top five
mocked player. So I like it. I mean, it just seems like when you visualize players, which I like
to do, doing them doing mocks, like visualizing them in the jersey, Pierce fits.
that like Shaq Barrett rule.
For sure. He hit that high miles per hour in
23 and it had people freaking out and he ended up being
projected by some to be the 101 at that period of time.
It's sort of come down a little bit.
But yeah, Indy, that's going to be a fun one to watch an indie,
huh, Brett? Yeah, let me, I want to ask Cody this.
On a guy like Pierce, okay, so he came into the season,
super hyped and he's going to finish.
probably a top 10, 12 player for me in the class.
Why do you think people soured on him?
He was very productive this year still.
Had double-digit sacks.
Pressure rate was ridiculous.
Pass rush win rate was ridiculous.
So, like, why did it?
Like, he put on better tape than he did in 23.
Why do you think people soured on him?
Sacks.
The sack number goes down.
I mean, the squirt on things the same way, right?
Nick Scorathon at Purdue was killed it.
I think I don't remember what his sack total was last year.
I know it went down this year.
But from 11.5.
Like, yeah.
But it goes down, right?
It's like that's, what did you say, 11.5?
I think so, right?
I just went down this year.
I think he was a little lower than that.
Yeah, I read, I think he's at seven and a half.
We went from double digits to, I think it was like seven and a half.
But I could be wrong.
You're right.
10 to 7.5.
You're right.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I think that it's as stupid as that sounds, right?
Is it like, well, that's where that.
I think the early mock draft market is completely cockamamie.
Everything from April to August is just broken in the early way too early.
I'll partaking it.
Don't get me wrong.
I'll throw a mock up on the board, but like it's completely stupid.
And having a guy like Pierce fall through the last three months is just people not watching the game and saying, well, blah, blah, blah, right?
You just said he's going to be a top 15 player for you.
I think as the flat circle comes back around me and Alex Dunlap from Ross to watch, talk about this all time.
The flat circle of the NFL draft, coherent.
thoughts come back around right there the last two weeks before the NFL draft and Pierce is going to be one of them.
I love it. Denver Broncos OTC here, Cody Carpenter. This has been one where fantasy managers are going to keep an eye on this pick, pick number 20.
I'm going to get in the mud here. He's talked about it. Sean Payton's talked about I want to get, what do you say, a Joker? Joker was kind of the thing. The term he used, right? When I think of Joker's, obviously I think of Gentie, Tyler Warren,
a certain extent. I think Colston Loveland to a certain extent.
Burden could be looked at in that same conversation as I guess a Joker type.
Why not Traveon Henderson as a Joker type?
He's going to be graded for NFL teams much higher, I think, than the consensus fantasy football circle.
So I think what they will do is they'll go Trayvion Henderson here.
Giovante Williams, that thing kind of just didn't work out.
I mean, I think Audrake Estimae's fine.
I think Blake Watson's fun.
I think Taylor Beatty was cute for a week.
None of them are Trayvion Henderson,
the prospect out of Ohio State.
So what they will do is they'll take Trayvon Henderson.
And what they should do is probably go to the back end
and just keep on bolstering this thing.
I think take Jada Barron or Malachi Stark.
I'll go Jada Baron for this iteration.
Okay, so Jada Baron off the board.
Did I flip-flop that, Cody?
You said that he will.
You said that backwards.
I'm taking Trayvon Henderson.
Barron is what they should take.
Wow.
Okay, yeah. So, you know, what's funny, guys, is I did my dream landing spots fantasy-wise.
You can read that article at fantasy points right now, guys, and it's not paywalled.
But I talked about how Henderson would be like the ideal fit in the Denver Broncos offense.
And if you simply gave him the Giovante Williams passing game usage,
Javante Williams, you know, this is a guy that a lot of people wouldn't think about.
but Javante Williams was top six in running back targets this year.
Javante Williams had a ton of positive usage,
but Trayvion Henderson would fit really perfectly into that role.
I think you really sort of nailed that.
Cody, Brett, we've gone back and forth on Trayvon Henderson a lot.
If he ends up landing in Denver, your thoughts of him in that fit, that offense.
Yeah, I mean, every NFL team's chasing explosive players right now.
So you see what, you know, Sequin, Jameer, Bejohn, what those are,
those guys, you're Jonathan Taylor. It's such a, it breaks the backs of defense. So I like travion in that
system. Here's a thing though, like Sean Payton so duo heavy. I'm not sure Travian's cut out for that.
Like I have quite serious questions about Travian's toughness as a player. You know, duo is a very
downhill gap scheme. I just don't know. I think there's other guys I prefer here. But if you're
chasing explosives and that's what you want to do and that at Denver run game had none. No
explosive element last year, I could see an over correction and then going with a guy like
Trayvion for sure. This would certainly be one where it would get the fantasy community
super, super excited to see a second running back selected inside of the top 20. And this has been
sort of a free square landing spot where unlike my projected landing spot where Ashton Genty
would have to share touches with Alvin Kamara, Trayvion Henderson would get all of the high value
touches, you know, and maybe an estimate would handle some touches next to him.
I'd sort of take away some of the, you know, between the 20s type, type grinder role.
But Henderson would vault up dynasty rookie rankings and dynasty rookie draft rankings
if this landing spot happened.
It would be sort of a dream one.
For me here, tick number 21, man, let's just, let's just keep it, keep it in Columbus.
and let's go with Emeka Egbuka,
which I actually think is a very good fit for Pittsburgh.
What I think they should do is I think they probably should take a defensive back,
but what I think they will do is I think they're desperately in need of another
pass-catching weapon.
George Pickens is sort of a, probably a wide receiver two in a perfect world,
but I think with Egbuka, you can do a lot of the things we saw early on with
Ju-Jew Smith-Schuster, his rookie year.
his second year in that offense with Mike Tomlin where I think Egbuka actually projects to get
a ton of targets.
Relatively speaking, it's an Arthur Smith led offense, but a very high target share.
A lot of first read looks, a lot of easy reads.
And I think he's a threat inside the red zone for an offense that needs weapons.
So I think Emeka Egbuka, this is actually a really good landing spot for him in terms of
potentially being a wide receiver won early on in his career in terms of target share
and in terms of role. And I think this is a need pick for the Steelers. So Emeka, Egbuka,
21 overall, off the board, guys. I got one question, one question only. Is this mean that
we're burying Roman Wilson for the eternity of slot receiving? It's not a good sign for Roman
Wilson, everyone. Not a good sign for Roman Wilson. If Egbuka is,
selected here. I don't think it destroys him, but I think that this is this is a player that
maybe we want a little bit more of his rookie year. And I know he dealt with injuries and all that,
Cody, but at the end of the day, Egbuka is just a different level of prospect for me and a guy
that I think can handle a lot more as an NFL player than Wilson. So I don't think Wilson's completely
dead and buried, but I don't think he's ever one that's going to really find our starting
lineups in fantasy. Fair play.
All right, I picked 22, the, the Chargers were sprinting to the podium with this one.
Take a running back.
Take a running back.
Kenneth Grant.
There's no chance Harbaugh's passing on Kenneth Grant.
It's not.
They should and would take this.
This Chargers run defense has been bad for like three decades, guys.
Right?
I mean, we got to get some beef.
There are the amount of men, Kenneth Grant's size that move like him.
That list is probably three or four people in the entire world.
like it is it is unbelievable what this guy can do at his size I think he should be a top I'd been mocking him to Atlanta I know we went Luther burden here but I think he should be a top 15 pick the dude's just a stud all the way around so I'm going Kenneth grant Michigan defensive tackle to his former head coach in Jim Harbaugh with the Chargers we're going to finally fix this run defense and he gives you juices a pass rush or two it's a bonus let's go he might blow up at the NFL combat guys I think Kenneth grant might uh
Like, if he has, Cody, you talk about the Bruce Feldman freaks list.
Like Kenneth Grant was, what, top five on that freaks list?
Wasn't he number one this past year?
It was, yeah.
Yeah, so Kenneth Grant, and, you know, when people look back and they say,
how did Michigan beat Ohio State this year pretty easy?
We talked about Mason Graham.
We talked about Kenneth Grant, just how good they were on that interior defensive line.
Both those guys are studs.
And I think that Grant might be the one guys where post-combine, more and more people are talking about him being a top 15 pick.
Thoughts on that, Cody?
I mean, you talked about people that can't move this way, Brett.
And Theo, when I talked to him the last time, talking about Kenneth Grant and Mazzie Smith doing those big steps at Michigan, the 20-inch, 26-inch stairs there when he jumps up, up.
He was 20 pounds heavier than Mazzie Smith, and he did it faster than Mazzie Smith.
I mean, he's a different athlete.
He's a different player.
Obviously doesn't get the conversation, the recognition that Mason Graham does.
But Kenneth Grant's always been the quiet guy.
Just put your head down, get to work.
And I think Harbaugh knows that.
And, you know, like you said, they've been trying to fill this thing in.
I remember them signing Linval Joseph a couple years ago when he was past his prime.
Like, they're just trying to add guys and add guys and add guys.
And you know Harbaugh wants to be strong in those trenches.
And he knows he can be strong with the Kenneth Grant.
Yeah, last thing I'll add to is, you think back, Jordan Davis is probably the last.
prospect this size that had those movement skills.
He went 13th overall, and I think Kenneth Grant is a better prospect than Jordan Davis.
So I love that.
Absolutely love it.
Cody, OTC here, Green Bay Packers, pick number 23.
I know we've talked about a couple of spots that have been tough.
I think the Dolphin spot is tough to mock.
I think the Colt spot is interesting.
I hate mocking for the Green Bay Packers because that fan base is like, well, why would we need more
dbs. I'm like, well, because you've been drafting dbs every year and they just, they don't always work.
And that's why you go and spend money on Xavier McKinney. So I think the Malachi-Starks thing warrants
some thought here at 23. I think you could look at the receiver position. I think that they're
going to probably move on from a couple of these guys over the course of time. I think cornerback
with Jair Alexander aging out, Eric Stokes hasn't quite hit his spot. I think you look at Benjamin
Morrison, the cornerback from Notre Dame that was once kind of in that top ten
conversation as well. Obviously got hurt this year. Didn't get to play the season. Only played like
100 or 300 snaps or something like this. Half the snaps what he did the year before.
Played worse as far as PFF grade goes. But I think Benjamin Morrison is going to be a good
cornerback at the next level once he gets healthy. So we'll go Benjamin Morrison here is what they
will do. What they should do is they should go wide receiver. They should go wide receiver and
just have some fun and continue to surround Jordan Love with talent. And I think you have two options
here. And I know I cover the Texas longhorns, but I think both of these guys weren't options.
I'll go with the faster one. Isaiah Bond, do I do think runs a 429, 430 at the combine next week.
Get some speed up there in Green Bay on that grass.
Yeah, man, Matthew Gold, speaking of the Texas wide receivers, Matthew Golden to Green Bay here would be like a shoot him up the boards type place.
Because I sort of agree with you where some of these teams with like Buffalo and Green Bay, whenever you mock a wide receiver there,
you get some sort of pushback.
Like that's not necessarily a number one need.
But in today's NFL, who's the number one wide receiver on Green Bay right now?
We're saying Jaden Reed going into the next season and then Buffalo, Khalil Shakir.
That's not cutting it in today's NFL, in my opinion.
You need that elite weapon to really put pressure on opposing defenses.
So I would like to see that.
It does seem like a cornerback type spot.
I'm OTC here with the Minnesota Vikings.
And for me, I would go with, I would still go with O'Mari and Hampton here, despite them bringing back Aaron Jones.
That's, you know, I'm an O'Mari on Hampton guy.
That's what I would do.
But, Cody, this is a league where a lot of times the NFL draft, you'd start seeing these positional runs.
You just took Morrison.
I think this is the Jada Barron pick.
I think that the Minnesota Vikings just take Jada Barron and they get a really, really good value here.
they get a cornerback, which is they need another cornerback.
We all saw how the season sort of turned out for them those final two games.
Barron, this is, I think, a very good value.
I think he could go earlier in the draft than this.
So Jaday Barron, Texas Longhorns, cornerback off the board to the Minnesota Vikings,
much to my fantasy football chagrin who wanted to put Omari in Hampton there.
This is probably my favorite pick so far, the mock, a huge Jury Bayron guy.
you're not going to find guys with his length
and his instincts and ball skills.
They're just not hanging around.
He's a top 15 player for me.
Minnesota currently doesn't have a single cornerback under contract for next year.
Their top,
well,
sorry,
I'm sure they have some futures contract or whatever.
Their top four cornerbacks from last year are all expiring.
So this is like,
this is massive need.
And I'm sure they address it for agency,
of course.
They probably bring Byron Murphy back.
But,
you know,
this is still huge for them.
Just getting a guy that in that,
you know, Brian Flores is crazy, blitz heavy defense.
You're comfortable leaving a guy like Jada Bairn on an island.
And I love that.
So yeah, great pick for you.
Okay.
We're ready to rock.
We are nearing the end, guys.
We are in our final eight selections.
Brett, start us out here with the Houston Texans pick number 25.
Houston back-to-back playoff appearances.
They've actually won a game in back-to-back playoffs.
Need to take the next step.
Yeah, let's go.
So let's see here.
The next two picks, Houston and L.A.,
there might not be two teams more desperate
for a wide receiver in this draft than these two teams.
Well, mine is New England.
We got to go receiver here.
If I were making the pick, I would take Jalen Knoll,
my guy from Iowa State.
I love him.
However, I don't think the NFL is going to come
as high on him as I am.
So I'm going to go Matthew Golden here,
the other Texas wide receiver.
I think Matthew Golden's skill set is absolutely picture perfect to pair with the Nico Collins.
You're going to get your traditional X, you know, you can play them in a reduced slot alignment from Nico.
And then you're going to get your speed route running Maven in Matthew Golden.
I just think it's a picture perfect selection here.
And it looks like Tankdale might miss all of next season.
He might not ever play football again, guys.
Stefan Diggs coming off the ACL, they are not resigning him.
I think Stefan leaves for Dallas to play with his brother.
I just think receiver has to be the pick,
and especially if they can fall into a Matthew Golden
or a Jalen-Nole type guy here.
Cody, you saw Matthew Golden all season long
covering the Texas Longhorns.
I had a chance to talk to you and Alex Dunlap about him
down in Mobile at the Senior Bowl.
Your thoughts on Golden and his fit opposite Nico Collins
when a C.J. Sproud led a Texan's offense.
Yeah, Golden is a, to me,
He's a peer number two.
I compared him to like a Jordan Addison type guy.
He really grew as the season went on.
I think he's got an elite catch radius.
He had 21 explosives this last year.
Explosives this last year, which was fourth in college football.
He proved himself as a returner at Houston.
Everybody at Texas knew Matthew Golden was a target in the portal like six months before
the portal opened because of how Matthew Golden played against Texas.
And it was only a credit to Chris Jackson,
the wide receiver coach from Texas to pull this out of golden and help him
help him create himself into a first round pick.
So I like that.
Mike, one question for Brett, though.
Did you think about Walter Nolan here at all?
For sure, especially with, you know, Dimeco and the whole, you know, the way he prioritizes
the D line.
I for sure thought about it.
I thought about Sharmar Stewart here too because it'd be gross just to give him another freak
on that, on that D line.
But I do think they got to go wide receiver.
I mean, I guess they could go wide receiver in the second round.
you know, I guess. I think that maybe the coverage is a little bear by then.
But yeah, yeah, no, that's, it'd be tough to pass on Nolan here for sure.
It's tough for all, like Minnesota's a Nolan candidate for sure.
Green Bay is a woman candidate. Like, this is the range where these teams should be jumping
at a guy like Walter Nolan for sure.
Cody, OTC with the Rams. Rams last year had some hits.
They finally had a first round pick, worked out very, very well.
This year, they're going to look like they're moving off of Cooper Cup.
they've been mocked to go defensive.
They've been mocked to go wide receiver.
Which way would you go with the L.A. Rams and what are they going to do?
I think there's two things you should or could do here.
Either go offensive line or you go receiver or maybe you try to trade back
and accumulate some things to potentially go QB early part of the second round,
which I don't think is out of the possibility.
I think they pick in like the late 40s or early 50s.
So they're kind of in a weird spot where if they're,
do want to go quarterback.
They probably need to drop back from this spot,
which I would advise and what I would try to do.
I wouldn't put it past less need to do that.
If I have to sit here and what they will do is,
honestly,
I don't think that there's any receivers that they would take here in round one.
So I'm going to go offensive line.
And I'm going to go with Donovan Jackson,
the guy that played guard for Ohio State.
and then when Josh Simmons went out, played tackle.
I got to watch him, obviously, through the playoffs against Texas.
I think Donovan Jackson is a versatile offensive lineman.
And when you look at what the Rams have right now, with both their tackles entering for agency,
they went and took late round pick last year and Bo Limmer.
Rob Hivenstein's into his like 10th or 11th year.
They need offensive line.
They need to continue to protect.
I don't think Zafford will be back, but regardless need to be able to protect that quarterback on the left side.
So I'm going to go Donovan Jackson from Ohio State is what they will do.
what I would do is trade back.
Cody,
if Golden was there,
would you have taken him?
I think so.
I think so.
Because they went to Texas throughout last year
with Jordan Whittington,
who was a complete culture locker room guy.
And he knows he has the ins and outs of Texas.
And I think Golden,
who obviously didn't play with Whittington,
there's a connection there.
I think that'd be a good fit
from a stylistic standpoint to outside of Puka.
For sure.
So 27 over,
overall, Baltimore Ravens,
I think this would have been a nice golden landing spot as well.
This, but this is Baltimore.
And we're sitting here,
and it seems like this happens every single year
where there's just players that fall into the Ravens lap
and they just take them.
There's multiple edge rushers here
where they could just clean up.
I mean, I could go with Mike Green.
I could go with Shamar Stewart.
I think I'm going to go with Shamar Stewart.
And I think that Baltimore gets another
just stud
defensive player
Stewart's one of the better athletes
on the edge this year
in this draft class. And I think
Stewart is just another plug and play guy.
Ravens get even better with their pass
rush add Shamar Stewart
right here. I think he's tremendous value at
27 overall.
You know what's funny is like he's going to go blow up
the combine. Do you agree with that Cody?
Yep. And you're going to get
him getting mocked in the top 10. But when you
look at the production, you're like he's
never had more than a sack and a half in a season,
which is crazy.
I do think he goes in the first round,
Theo,
because I think the physical traits are just abundant and teams will bite on that for sure.
But like for me,
it's like,
is he,
you know,
I don't know how good he actually is.
I will say when he wins the edge,
it's scary because that's a big man and he can absolutely fly.
But the product,
we've never seen anything like that,
right?
Have we ever seen an edge with a career best sack and a half go top 20?
I don't think we have.
What was, I don't, Tyra, I think Tyree Wilson was equally as boring through his
But he had, he had seven sacks those last two years.
Yeah.
And then he also had just so many splash, run plays in the run game too that were just gross.
And he was super long.
I mean, this, this reminds me of the Trouin Walker, the Tyree Wilson kind of trajectory of like, yeah, you look at the paper, you look at the box scores and stuff.
you look at them on the field and you're like, okay, I can tell myself a story here.
Yeah.
And when Shamar runs 4-5-5 at 280 pounds, like go back first overall, I'm not kidding.
Just go do it because it's worth it.
I did it with Trayvon Walker.
The moment he ran is 40, I bet him to go first overall because I know Trent Bulky is all-trades
guy.
He does not care about production.
He's all-trades.
Somebody in the draft will do it, but it'd be fun back.
It would be like plus $8,000 probably.
And he already had the great senior bowl and they already know that.
So if he just goes in there, boom.
I mean, it's going to be skyrocket from there.
Yep.
Love it.
Brett, you are OTC with your Detroit lines at pick number 28.
Oh, funny how that worked.
Man, they need, you know, their needs on paper actually aren't that crazy.
They have a really good roster.
Obviously, injuries suck for them.
Strong chance, Carlton Davis doesn't resign.
It depends on the negotiations, how they're,
that goes. So there's a need at corner
potentially.
They need a long term fix
opposite Aden Hutchson on the edge.
So that is
interesting.
Man,
Alim McNeil also likely
to miss a good chunk of next season
with the ACL so they could go three tech.
There's options here,
guys. I don't know. I'm curious.
I almost want your guys' feedback. I'm tempted
to go
I know I mocked them.
mocked them to take Mike Green here.
Ultimate production guy.
Zero chance they draft Mike Green.
I had Scorton. Scorton is one of my guys here.
Scorton is definitely a lion type guy.
Yeah. I mocked them Jared Ivy from Ole Miss because he's just big and heavy hands.
He's not a first round player though.
So it's like I don't really know.
And sorry, Theo, not to poo poo my green.
Just Mike Green has a lot of character red flags in his profile.
The Lions are the one team that won't even F with that.
So like they just,
They literally won't.
It's a non-starter.
I don't even think he'll,
I don't even think they'll talk to them.
Yeah,
let me,
let me think here.
It's kind of a good time to remind people that,
like,
there's usually not 28 guys with first round grades.
Yeah,
it looks,
and it's not going to be this year either.
Right.
For me,
I'm looking like 17, 18.
Yeah.
And so I think last year I had 23.
It was a good class last year, though.
So I don't know.
We're in a tough spot.
I think I got to go,
I'm going to go,
wait,
Walter Nolan's still on the board,
right?
I'm going to go Walter Nolan here.
Yeah, gives them that three tech pass rush.
They need pass rush help.
They still have Zadaria Smith for next year,
which I think is a good rusher opposite Hutch.
And then Walter Nolan is a, you know,
him and McNeil long term.
That's a really nice combo there in the interior.
Cody Carpenter, 29 overall, the Washington commanders.
Obviously a huge success story last year.
They ran all the way to the NFC title game.
Jaden Daniels a foundational asset for years to come.
They're a little bit of a wild card here at 29, which way they go.
They've been, I mean, last year, I've said they weren't happy with Jehan Dodson.
They've been trying to get Diami out of this building as fast as possible.
Noah Brown's old, KJ Osborne's up the deals, James and Crowder's out of the building,
Alameda Zakias is out of the building.
It's Terry McClearn.
It's Luke McCaffrey.
And that, to me, says I need some size on the outside.
I need some speed on the outside, and I need some talent on the outside.
And I'm just going to keep on feeding the guy that rookie of the year.
This is Jaden Daniels game.
I got Terry.
They like McCaffrey a lot.
I'm assuming they put him in the slot this year.
I think you look at a couple names here at the back end of the first round for the Washington commanders.
First off, Isaiah Bond, who we talked about earlier.
I think Jack Bess is actually kind of interesting here.
And then Trey Harris, for this purpose, I'm going to go with Isaiah.
a bond who I've talked about it a different pick I think that was the Green Bay Packers I'm going to give him here to the Washington commanders for what they will do because they need to continue to surround Jane Daniels with talent that's what you're going to do if you don't protect him you got to surround him with talent for that rookie that second year guy now and then for the should do what I what they should do I think they should probably protect him they should probably go out there and get an offensive lineman and that would be Josh Connerley Tyler Booker type of conversation so I'll go
Tyler Booker here, the guard from Bama.
Yeah, this would actually be a landing spot that would get Isaiah Bond, like a significant boost in terms of fantasy football value because we love the arm of Jaden Daniels.
And Bond opposite Terry McLaren, like, that's a spot where it's easy to sort of get excited about potential that he could give you as a rookie.
I love that one.
And Cody, when I had a chance to come on the draft rankings podcast with you, we talked about kind of like how many wide receivers.
we think are going to get drafted in the first round and maybe this wide receiver class getting a little bit beat up.
Early free agency, T. Higgins off the board. I mean, you're going to have to pay two first rounders to get him now.
Chris Godwin off the board. They're dropping like flies. And this is going to be a year where I think you could end up seeing more wide receivers steamed up into the top 45.
Brett and Cody, you've also both brought up the overall quality of the class where there's not a ton of players that you guys are projecting.
with first round grades. I think Brett, you mentioned 17 guys. I'm not sure, Cody, when you get down to it. So I think teams going for for needs and with a little bit of a tie goes to the receiver in certain situations because wide receiver has been so in vogue for teams to attack it. Last year we saw those wide receivers go right at the end of the first round and now we see it with this Isaiah Bond pick. And I'm OTC with Buffalo here, guys. And I'm going to keep it going. Buffalo bills here.
They could use a number of positions.
I think that, like, I had a chance to go on with Mike Schope and the Bulldog on Buffalo Radio, WGGR,
and they want to talk to NFL draft, and they're talking about their team needs with, you know,
cornerback.
Maybe they take a defensive lineman.
And I told them that I think it might be a wide receiver.
Buffalo now for three straight seasons has gone with a early rookie skill position player.
They did it with James Cook.
They did it with Dalton Kincaid.
They did it with Keon Coleman last year in the early second.
you cannot maximize your offense with Khalil Shakir
leading a wide receiver room.
And Keon Coleman didn't show me last year
that it can be a number one wide receiver in the NFL.
I love Eelik Iyamanner.
I think this is a perfect spot for Eelik Ayamanner
to step in in a Josh Allen offense.
I think it fills a need for Buffalo.
And I think if you look at Iyamanner
versus all the other wide receivers on this offense,
he's the one that can project to be a wide receiver one in this league.
Eelik Eymanor off the board, 30 overall.
That's who I think they will take.
And that's who I think they should take.
It's a great call.
Some commentary on this,
you know,
we have a lot of receivers going.
I don't.
So none of these guys that were drafted,
like Luther Burden is not a first round player to me.
I think he is to Cody though.
So,
Emeka,
Abuka,
not a first round player to me.
Matthew Golden,
not a first round player to me.
Isaiah Bond,
not a first round player to me.
Elek is close.
But point,
being, I do think the lack of available talent at wide receiver and free agency could actually
make something like this happen, even though I, I personally, I'm not super comfortable
taking a lot of these guys in the first round. It's just the nature of the game though, man,
when you need to improve your skill room, like, I don't know how you do it in free agency. You can't.
Same with offensive line. I think this year's first round could be super O line wide receiver heavy
strictly out of necessity, strictly out of necessity. We're just like the free agent pool is
completely sapped of any talent. So like, how do we get back?
better in these spots, you know?
I love it.
Guys, we're nearing the, the end here.
We're hitting our goal here, guys.
This is amazing.
Brett, Kansas City Chiefs, absolutely steamrolled in the Super Bowl,
picking at 31 overall.
Which way are they going?
They, it feels like they have to go O-line.
We just gave, let me see here.
I think they probably got to go Josh Connerly here.
I have questions about Connerley, but for for their play style, they're going to rely on the, on
homes a lot.
I think Connerley is good.
I think he's a really good mover in space.
He's a good, good pass protector.
Doesn't give up a ton inside.
Little, little weak in the run game, but I don't think that really matters for Kansas City right now.
So I'm going to go Josh Connerly to compete with Kingsley, Sue Matia next year.
I think maybe there's a chance you could get.
both those guys in your lineup too,
because Connerly probably could play some guard if you need them to.
You know,
if Kingsley had a really good camp.
So I'm going to go Josh Connerley here.
I was tempted to go Elijah Arroyo as well.
And I was also tempted to maybe go with like an Omari in Hampton.
But I'm going to go Josh Connerly.
Oh, God,
I really wish you would have said Omarian Hampton after you just mentioned it.
You bury the lead there, Brett.
That would get that would get all of us fantasy people so excited
if Kansas City would take Omari and Hampton here at 31.
But yeah, I think they have to go O-line.
That O-line, it was the worst O-Line
Patrick Mahomes has ever played with.
Absolutely manhandled in the Super Bowl.
But if you just look back at the regular season,
the amount of sacks that they gave up,
unsustainable, did a lot with smoke and mirrors with that offense.
But, hey, add offensive line help,
do you get Rashi Rice back,
continued maturation of Xavier Worthy.
And now we're talking a little bit about Kansas City offense.
taking a step forward in 2025. Cody Carpenter, you get to draft for the world champion Philadelphia Eagles.
You get to take the last pick here. Who is Philadelphia taken at pick number 32? A lot of really good names left on the board.
Which happens what every single time that Howie Roseman gets on the clock. I got to applaud him ever since that Jalen Ragger, Justin Jefferson debacle, his top 50 picks have been dialed.
Devanta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Jordan Davis, Cam Juergens, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith,
two insane values, Quignon Mitchell, Cooper DeGine last year.
Like, it's just been hammer after hammer after hammer.
And I think that there's two spots, maybe three you look at right here for me.
You look at the offensive line.
You consider the right guard spot where Mikea Beckton played this year.
You consider right tackle behind him with Lane Johnson, or behind Lane Johnson, should say,
for the future.
I think you can look at DB as well with the conversations of Darius Slay saying, you know,
maybe I'll go back to Detroit for one last ride.
They got Quinyon, Cooper DeGine,
but what I'm looking for like the best value to this point,
I look at two names.
I look at Malachi Stark's from Georgia,
which obviously Georgia makes a lot of sense.
And maybe it's chalk at this point to just think about Georgia and Philadelphia.
And then Chavon Ravel,
the cornerback from East Carolina,
who dealt with an injury this year who can play a lot outside.
I think the thought of Ravel would be sick with Quinyon
and with Cooper,
as you know that back in for the next eight, six to eight years.
So I'm going to go ahead and say what they will do is go Malachi.
And what they should do is go Revelle.
Wow.
Malachi starts going to Philadelphia would get like people will be standing on their on their heads talking about what an amazing pick that is.
You could just see him landing there and being a eight time pro bowler in his career.
So champagne problems for the Philadelphia Eagles.
This was so much fun.
Cody, let everyone know once again where they can find your work.
You can find all my work overrasterwatch.com.
It's all my write-ups and my mock drafts are at.
And then my daily show is on YouTube or podcast.
It's called The Draft Rankings Show.
Appreciate you guys for having me on as always.
It's good talking to you.
Yeah, this was awesome.
And Brett and I are going to continue covering the 2025 rookie class.
We're going to have NFL Combine coverage.
We're going to have all of your fantasy needs, all your dynasty rookie coverage.
We're hitting it here at fantasy points.
What do you have coming up, Brett?
Yeah, prospect guide dropping shortly.
after the combine, the first iteration,
and then it gets added to as we get closer to the draft.
I have a mock draft dropping.
Again, another mock draft pre-combine.
I have a combine primer where I write up kind of like 10 guys,
I think really need the combine.
And then another 10 guys that should blow it out.
So yeah, it's fun.
Got a lot of stuff coming.
My way too early top 25 article is getting expanded to a top 50 anytime soon here,
guys.
I'm working on it.
And we're going to work on pods like this.
We're giving you all the information you need to crush your dynasty leagues,
crush your fantasy leagues this season,
and getting you ready for the NFL draft.
We'll see you soon.
