Fantasy points NFL mock draft.
Theo Greminger and Brett Whitefield here,
we're going to attempt to pull off an entire first round NFL mock draft.
So you've heard Brett and I discuss our dynasty rankings.
We've done a rookie mock draft with Derek Brown of fantasy pros.
Now we're back to basics here, Brett.
We're talking an NFL mock draft.
We're trying to get through all 32 picks.
And I know you like myself are working on all sorts of like articles and trying to do these NFL mock drafts.
And I know you had to go do some revisions on a Sunday.
That's always a lot of fun.
What do you think with all these wide receiver moves?
D.K. Metcalf being sent to Pittsburgh, Devante Adams, going to L.A.,
does this change the amount of wide receivers selected in the first round?
Or is it going to present new teams sort of moving in and being attached to the guys we've talked about for weeks like the Matthew Goldens, the Elyke-Eyamanners, and that sort of level of wide receiver?
Yeah, here's my kind of the more I break, go into the mock draft season and I'm really like crunching the numbers.
I'm looking at historical data from past mock drafts and stuff.
The thing I keep coming back to is this running back class is so stinking good.
I kind of think basic supply and demand economics, I think the supply will drive down these guys on some teams boards.
And furthermore, the scarcity at wide receiver, I think will actually bump some of these wide receivers up teams.
boards to where I think you do get four or five, maybe even six, if we're lucky,
it might not be the current order we have, right? It might not be those 32 teams
picking exactly where they're picking. But I think in some way, shape, or form, you get
four or five wide receivers just because, like, if you're a team that needs a guy and you're
picking late second round, you can't wait that long. Like, there's not a guy there. I just,
I really feel that way. It's a really shallow class as far as that goes. So, yeah, I think you'll
see four or five guys for sure in the first round, maybe even a sixth if we get crazy.
Yeah. And I think the two of us have sort of been ahead of the curve with this where I'm
seeing a lot of people gloom and doom for the wide receiver class. We're going to only have
two. The overrunner should be two and a half. And we kind of completely have disagreed with
this. There's not only quality in the wide receiver class, but there's a lack of quality
left on the open market. Now maybe a guy like a George Pickens becomes a trade target. Certainly
there's going to be a few other wide receivers that Brian and I,
Yook, of course, might get moved.
But nothing out there that's like just cut and dry, plug and play, free agent wide receiver
goes in the lineup and is a 125 target guy.
Those guys are just not out there on the market.
So I think teams are going to attempt to move in and select some of these players.
Now, we've done this before.
The two of us did a NFL mock draft with Cody Carpenter of roster watch.
We did it three-handed.
That was really, really fun.
Today, Brett and I are going essentially pick by pick.
We're switching off.
But we're going to attempt to pull off some trades.
So we're going to be kind of price checking each other on these trades.
Why don't we go ahead and kick it off here, Brett?
I have the 101 today.
And I'm going to project a trade.
So Tennessee is sitting at the 101.
But I am going to say that the trade with the New York Giants happens.
It is going to be the number three overall pick and a 2026 first.
round pick to move up two spots and the idea being the New York Giants select Cam Ward.
Do you think that that's a trade that's going to be accepted? Do you, do you allow that one to go?
Yeah, I think that's close. They probably have to throw in like a 25 third or fourth as well, but
I think we're right there. Okay, so we have, we have one pick in the book. This is, this is great.
I thought I was going to have to renegotiate that one, but Brett, Brett is feeling generous here on a
Monday morning. So, Rhett, you are OTC, you are the Cleveland Browns. And the Miles Garrett was
re-signed. Does this do anything in their decision with quarterback versus potentially an
Abdul-Carter having their franchise defensive end locked and loaded, huge contract?
Yeah, listen, if you listen to me over in my show first read, I kind of have been saying all
offseason, the trading Miles Garrett thing didn't really seem like a real option because I know this
team went three, they won three games last year, Theo, but their roster is a lot better than a
three-win team. They had horrendous quarterback play the entire season. I really do feel like,
with a little bit of a retooling, bringing back the best defensive player in the league,
all they really need is stable quarterback play and they're going to be competitive. So at pick two
here, it does change things. I'm not going with an Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter. I'm going
to Shudur Sanders here. And I think getting that, that real, like Shudor is a really high floor
quarterback. He might not have the same ceiling Kim Ward or Jackson Dart has, but man, he's going to
stabilize the QB play there, even though he's a rookie. I really, really like this fit, too, and
a Stefansky offense. I think this is just awesome. So Chedore Sanders at two overall, and I think
Cleveland's right back in the mix with a good offseason here. You know, they're competitive.
Yeah, no, I agree with you. And we have not been one of these, one of these groups of sites that have
been, like, sort of negative towards Shudur Sanders. I know you've been high on him for
like a year and a half. He's steadily been my QB2 in this class. And I think he's a long-term
NFL starter at the worst. And at the best, he's a guy that can elevate your team.
And this is also would be a really, really nice fantasy outcome for fantasy managers
rostering a player like a Jerry Judy, like a David and Joku, because Shadurr Sanders is incredibly
accurate. And he can make downfield passes. I think Judy would actually thrive alongside
standard. So I'd be rooting for that one if you're like a dynasty manager with Jerry Judy.
So we're rolling through here, Brett. And now I'm back at the, the 103 with the Tennessee Titans.
I think this is Abdul Carter time. I think Tennessee has been high on Carter for a while.
And they are able to squeeze out an extra first round pick out of the 101.
They add additional draft capital for their big rebuild. They do pass on quarterback here.
They don't take Jackson Dart, and instead they take the best pass rusher in this draft class and probably alongside at Travis Hunter, the best defender in this draft class in Abdul Carter.
I'm going to lock this pick in.
And what do you think about that one?
Yeah, not to be a spoiler, but I have a mock dropping this morning, in fact.
And so far, this board has played out exactly how my mock is going.
So this is perfect.
I really do like Abdul Carter.
to me, I think with Mason Graham kind of measuring in like this funky, like he, we were sold that we were getting that skill set at 315 pounds.
And now it's possible he cut some weight to try to run and he ended up not running.
I know he's dealing with some stuff.
But with him kind of being a funky, almost tweener type guy, Abdul Carter is probably the best player in the class overall.
At least best non-QB for sure.
So, you know, getting him at three overall after tradeback, after collecting future assets, that's an absolute monster slam dunk for Tennessee.
Now they just got to figure out quarterback.
Yeah, easier said than done, but at the end of the day, maybe they get that quarterback next year.
There could be potential bridge quarterback being brought in.
Again, we'll have some clarity about a number of these veterans over the next few days.
Make sure you're tuned in fantasy points all week long for our podcast.
Also our articles over at fantasy points.com.
We're going to cover the free agent class and maybe another potential trade materializes as well at the quarterback position.
kind of a wild start to the offseason.
You are back OTC here at the 104 with the New England Patriots.
Yeah.
So, you know, for me, this offseason is all about improving the ecosystem around Drake May, right?
And so I think with Freedency starting, they've been tied to names like a Chris Godwin already.
They've been tied to D.K. Metcalf, obviously, he didn't go to the Patriots.
But point being is they seem pretty hell bent on getting themselves a dude at wide receipts.
So I think here's a safe spot to maybe go with an Armand Membo from Missouri offensive tackle who unlike Will Campbell has human size arms, which is good.
He's not a T-Rex.
So I think Armand Mumbo Sliads, and he really elevates this line.
Their tackle situation last year was probably the worst I've seen in a long time in the NFL.
And just again, this is a great great thing for Drake May improving the ecosystem around him, getting the pass protection, settled.
And he's also great in the run game.
Yeah, I mean, Membo for me was going to be the fifth overall pick in my mock draft.
I had actually a trade up to Jacksonville.
So I do think that the allure of Travis Hunter will be there.
There'll be a number of people in the building in New England who view Travis Hunter as a guy who can come in and really help them kind of speed up this rebuild process.
It would be sort of a we'd get it right three years in a row.
Christian Gonzalez, Drake May, and then go ahead and select Travis Hunter.
But I think you make a great point that Membo, you get one of the younger offensive linemen,
probably the biggest potential on the offensive line.
If you said which pro has the highest ceiling among the O-line prospects, I think it's Membo.
And with those testing numbers, I think he's pretty much a lock to go somewhere inside the top eight picks.
So they pass on the huge name in Hunter.
There's probably going to be a little criticism there,
but it's probably the pragmatic move for them to really solidify that offensive line,
put Drake May in a position to succeed.
So I think that's probably a good move for them.
But I do think Travis Hunter, the allure of him, that might be too much.
So we're sort of in line there.
I just can't see.
When you drafted your franchise quarterback last year,
you can't put that offense back on the field,
again. And they need two tackles, not one but two. Michael Onwenu is best inside. I mean,
it's crazy. I like, I can't imagine them playing or picking a defender at four. I just can't do it.
I don't even care if Abdul Carter is there. They got to go offense.
Now, I'm, I'm here at five with the Jacksonville Jaguars. And with Las Vegas making the trade for
Gino Smith, I think there's a little bit less of a market for teams trying to leapfrog
Vegas here and also get ahead of the New York Jets in order to select Jackson Dart.
And you have Travis Hunter sitting on the board where Jacksonville, I think, would be ecstatic
to get him. They've been linked to drafting cornerbacks by many. I know Will Johnson was a popular
projection early on. I think Ted McMillan, there'll be a number of sort of logical arguments
to just select Ted McMillan and pair him with Brian Thomas, especially after moving off
of Christian Kirk and cutting Evan Engram.
But I think at the end of the day, if Travis Hunter is sitting on the board here,
I think Jacksonville will select Travis Hunter.
I'm going to lock that one in.
Travis Hunter at the fifth overall pick.
I think Jackson will be really, really happy with this value.
And I think with Liam Cohen, in the back of my mind,
this is one where there's some outs here for the Travis Hunter produces as a wide receiver
crowd.
And it's Travis Hunter instantly helps this defense.
as a shutdown cornerback.
Yeah, I like that pick a lot.
You know, premier talent at fifth overall.
That's an easy win.
And they need corners.
Tyson Campbell's good.
He fell off a little bit towards the end of last year.
But they need some help,
especially with the way they like to play man coverage.
Like this is a big deal here.
Well, we're going to take a break.
And when we come back,
Brett Whitefield is OTC as the GM of the very busy
Las Vegas Raiders.

Welcome back to Fantasy Points.
Deo Greminger and Brett Whitefield.
NFL mock draft.
We are five picks in the book.
We will recap the top 10 when we get there for our podcast audience.
Brett, why don't you go ahead and talk out this pick for Vegas?
Huge move to go get Gino Smith last week.
Huge move.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm not the biggest Gino guy,
but I do think you really did elevate your floor.
And him reuniting with Pete Carroll's is a cool, cool thing.
So, you know, I'm tempted to go Tet McMillan here because I just,
they need receivers so bad.
But I don't want this mock to be exactly like the one being published on
FantasyPoints.com.
So I'm going to do the unthinkable.
And I'm going to go, Tyler, I'm just kidding.
Ashton Genti, running back, Boise State.
I think this is a popular pick right now.
Obviously, when you, you check the QB.
you feel like you get a little bit of luxury and they don't have any running backs there.
So Ashton Genty comes in, you know, by far the highest rated running back,
highest graded running back for me.
I think everyone knows he's going to be a top 10 pick or should be a top 10 pick.
So here we go.
Yeah.
And I think, Brett, everything that Vegas has done this off season has indicated that they're
pushing the chips in.
Pete Carroll is not a coach that you bring in for some sort of a long-term rebuild.
He's a coach you bring in to get things right and win games.
Chip Kelly being brought in as the offensive coordinator, another aggressive move
and one that indicates that Vegas is serious about winning.
And then Gino Smith move.
They're not looking to get one of these quarterbacks.
Instead, they're getting a 34-year-old who is going to be set with an extended contract.
And Gino's not perfect, but he is better than these free agent quarterbacks that are available right now.
So Gino Smith move, the Pete Carroll move, and then the Ashton Genty move.
It sort of all makes sense.
Vegas pushing the chips in, looking to win now for better or for worse.
And Genty, I think, puts them in a position to be a really, really effective offense.
And I would love that Ashton Genty Chip Kelly fit.
I think this is one that we could get really excited about in fantasy football.
And the potential volume that Ashton Genty would have in that probably fast-paced offense,
that runs a lot of plays,
it would really, really increase his fantasy ceiling.
Your thoughts on his fantasy outlook if he ends up in Vegas?
Oh, it's tremendous.
Obviously, Chip Kelly, even going back, what, 20 years ago,
it seems like is cranked out, you know, top running backs,
whether that was at the college level or the pro level.
So, yeah, I mean, this is an awesome fit.
And the fact that they literally don't have anyone else
that can play football in a Raiders uniform at running back.
I mean, Genties is a 300-touch shoe in as a rookie.
Yeah, I think that this one would be just be, we would be standing on our heads and saying just how highly are we going to be drafting Ashton Genty.
He would be a first round pick and redraft hands down.
Right now he's going, I'm doing a draft with Scott Barrett and a Bbag Batoba in a FFPC 350 early redraft league.
Gentie's going somewhere in that 11 through 15 range.
I think if Genty ends up in Vegas, we would paint a picture where he would end up being drafted close.
to the Devon A Chan range, somewhere inside the middle of the first round.
So I think that would be a huge one for fantasy.
Now, I'm OTC here at seven overall New York Jets.
There's a lot of rumors going on that Justin Fields is going to get signed as their quarterback.
They're being linked to a few veterans.
I don't think this precludes them from Jackson Dart.
I think if they like Jackson Dart, they can get him and sort of have a bridge quarterback
attached to their franchise.
But I don't know.
I think it's going to end up being a Justin Field signing.
And I think that they're going to end up taking the best player available.
Now, best player available here for me, despite some of the measurables, is still going to be
Mason Graham.
And I'm going to plug in Mason Graham here.
Just a absolute terror on the interior defensive line.
Unbelievable film from Michigan.
This is a guy who I think can really affect NFL games.
as a pass rusher, as a hot motor guy.
And I think this sort of fits in.
Aaron Glenn, you know, seems like a cultural fit type hire.
And this is the kind of player that will fit in what Aaron Glenn wants to do.
So they will pass on Jackson Dart and Mason Graham goes at the 107.
Now, I also did this for a reason.
Now you're sitting here at Carolina, who's trading up to get this pick?
Or does Carolina just get their guy, Brett?
I think that Carolina is probably going to get their guy.
I want to clarify something on Mason Graham, though, really quick.
When I say he had weird measurables of the combine, I just, he's still a big dude,
6-3-2-96.
I think he weighed with 32 and a half-inch arms.
He's completely fine.
There's no issue.
We've seen guys that exact size going the top five of the draft.
That's not a big deal.
I think the puzzling thing is he was listed at 315.
He's told people verbally that he weighs 315 pounds and then he weighed in 19 pounds under
315 pounds.
So when you see the play style and the way he deconstructs blocks and things of that nature,
it resembles that of a guy who's a lot bigger.
So you just wonder if the translatability is still there at 296 pounds, yada, yada.
Yeah.
And anyone who's a larger person who's played football or weightlifting or something
where you're carrying weight, going dropping 20 and putting on 20,
it's a lot easier.
It's a lot easier narrative for a guy like Mason Graham that it would be like some
215 pound linebacker who was supposed to be 235.
you know, it's a, he can get right back there pretty quickly if he is, in fact, 315.
Absolutely.
All right, Carolina, you know, they definitely pick up the phone and listen to straight offers.
I don't think they're getting one strong enough because the teams looking to come up are just too far away.
We're going to go, listen, Bryce Young desperately needs a guy, a wide receiver one here.
And I'm not in the business of making my young QB struggle the way that I have.
Bryce Young. Last year, they kind of fixed the O line. They got the run game sparked. Now we need to get that injection of talent at pass catchers. So we're going Tet McMillan here.
And this is something I was on early in the mock season. I was doing Tet to the Carolina. And I'm back to it here with the way the board fell. So we're going Ted McMillan to the Carolina Panthers.
Yeah. And time is a is a flat circle when it comes to these NFL drafts. Usually sometimes the initial need that you identify is the one you go back to.
this would actually be an ideal one.
We saw Carolina link to T. Higgins.
We saw Carolina link to D.K. Metcalfe.
Doesn't look like either of those things that are coming to fruition.
But I think this would be an ideal landing spot for Ted McMillan.
Dave Canales, wide receiver ones.
We look at the success that Canales had with Mike Evans in Tampa Bay.
And then we look at the sort of target share that Adam Thielen has had in pretty much every game where he's been healthy for Bryce Young.
Bryce Young has a tendency to target his wide receiver one,
and Dave Canales is a coach that can really amplify the usage for a traditional alpha
wide receiver like Ted McMillan.
So from a fantasy perspective, Ted McMillan landing in Carolina is unbelievably good.
He'd avoid Vegas.
We're playing alongside of a high target earner like Brock Bowers and an annoying presence like
Jacoby Myers.
he avoids Jacksonville where Brian Thomas would cap his ceiling and instead lands in a team where
Ted McMillan could have 140 targets as a rookie in this offense.
So that would be an ideal one.
I think that would be fantastic.
I got to say, I love the complimentary skill sets they're building at pass catcher there with,
you know, Adam Deeland can still be your veteran slot savvy guy for now.
And Xavier Leggett is more of a, you know, boom or bust yak player.
That's what he is.
crossing routes, shallows, screens, end-arounds.
Like, you want the ball in his hands.
He's a yak guy.
He's not a high-volume guy, though, probably won't ever be.
And that was my, and I loved Legat coming out, but that was kind of my thing with him.
Like, if he's your wide receiver, too, you're in a much better situation than if he's your
wide receiver one.
So getting Tet to be that true, you know, alpha X type receiver while you use the
complimentary skill sets of the other guys, I think that's a fantastic win for Bryce Young and
the Carolina Panthers.
So I am OTC at the ninth overall pick here with the New Orleans Saints.
I think the Saints would have selected a potential Tett McMillan,
would have been in the wheelhouse for a Gentie.
I've said that this is a team that just feels like a Gentie pick,
despite having Alvin Kamara for weeks and weeks now.
Both those guys are off the board.
I think that there will be teams calling,
trying to trade here and get a Jackson Dart,
but with Chicago and San Francisco not in the,
market for a quarterback. I don't think this is necessarily like a have to overpay and go get it.
I think that this is the Tyler Warren pick. We've talked about Tyler Warren to New Orleans for
several weeks now. It just presents itself as a really, really, really top notch talent at the
tight end position on a team that needs pass catchers, on a team that needs a lot of things.
But Tyler Warren, I think, steps right in, plays alongside Chris Alaveh and Rashid Shaheed in the
Kellyn Moore offense. You could get excited about this one as well.
And Tyler Warren, with those two guys as the wide receiver one and wide receiver two,
you could paint a picture where Tyler Warren could be the leading target earner on this team
heading into year two and have a really high fantasy ceiling like a guy like Bowers,
like a guy like McBride, a number one target type tight end.
I think New Orleans pulls the trigger. Tyler Warren off the board at the 109.
I don't know if you saw, but I typed it in before you, before you called the
You know me too well.
You know me too well.
And again, a shout out to anybody in the audience.
Am I too fantasy relevant with some of my picks?
I think sometimes it skews fantasy-wise.
But Brett, can you see this pick happening?
Do you like the fit of Tyler Warren at 9?
I've mocked it myself.
So, yeah, this is a great spot, especially with Joanne Johnson's a pending free agent.
Now, they might bring him back, but I could see Joanne going to Denver, for example.
And so, yeah, dude, this is awesome.
They need the injection of talent on offense in general.
So, you know, they kill two birds with one stone,
getting a run game plus and a pass game, Savant.
So love the pick.
All right, Chicago's up, man.
I'm on the clock with Chicago.
They're not going to trade back.
Ben Johnson doesn't do that.
We're not trading back here.
We're taking our guy.
They've made two trades, high leverage trades.
Joe Thunney comes in to play left guard.
Jonah Jackson comes in to play right guard.
They got a crap ton of money invested in guard.
They've been linked to.
wanting to add a starting center, Drew Dalman.
I don't think with the money they're paying Thune and Jonah Jackson, giving
Drew Dalman a huge contract is in the cards for them.
I just don't think that's possible.
So we're going to go get our starting center in Will Campbell, LSU.
And I know Theo, you and I haven't talked a lot about the non-skill players in the draft
because, you know, anytime we're discussing things, it's usually fantasy related.
But my evaluation of Will Campbell from the beginning is that he is best served playing
center in the NFL. We knew he had the length issues. We know he's a really good athlete,
but more importantly, we know the guy's freaking brilliant. He is a student of the game. No one does
tape study at the college level better than Will Campbell has. Every time I hear him talk,
I'm just blown away by how much about ball. This dude knows. I want that guy at center,
making my offensive line calls, helping my quarterback, my young quarterback, Caleb Williams,
who struggles to set protections and understand when he's hot. I want Will Campbell at center doing
that for me. They're going to make this offensive line.
great under Ben Johnson. Will Campbell, LSU, he's my new starting center, not offensive tackle.
No, I love that one. And I had Will Campbell, I was going to take him at 11 with San Francisco.
And I think we've talked about Will Campbell, one of the, one of the traits that he has that NFL
teams are going to like is his versatility. You bring up the center. I think some teams will view
him as a guard. Will Campbell is a really, really good football player. And again, I think he's going to be the
second offensive lineman off the board.
Not sure to which team right to Chicago.
This is a really good one.
Let's recap our first 10 picks.
Cam Ward goes one to the New York Giants.
We projected a trade.
The Cleveland Brown select Shadur Sanders at the two.
At the number three pick, Tennessee selects Abdul Carter,
the edge rusher from Penn State.
At four, New England passes on Travis Hunter and instead solidifies their
offensive line with Armand Membu from
Missouri. Then at six, the Las Vegas Raiders select Ashton Gentie running back Boise State. At seven,
the New York Jets select Mason Graham, defensive lineman from Michigan. At eight, the Carolina
Panthers select Ted McMillan, wide receiver, Arizona. At nine, the Saints select Tyler Warren,
tight end from Penn State. And then at 10, the Chicago Bears select Will Campbell,
project him as a center. We're going to take a quick break. We come back. I'm on the clock with
the San Francisco 49ers and a second trade.
Welcome back, Theo Griminger and Brett Whitefield,
mocking the 2025 NFL draft first round.
Brett, OTC here, San Francisco.
I had San Francisco making a move up for Armand Membue if he fell to five.
And then I had them settling in on Will Campbell if he fell to 11.
So now they're on the clock here.
I don't think that there's a lineman where San Francisco is like,
I have to take alignment.
I think Mason Graham would have been a slam dunk pick for him for them if he would have fallen to 11.
Also, he's a Bay, you know, a Bay Area type guy.
That would have been a really, really nice fit.
So San Francisco is actually going to stay inside of the NFC West and make an NFC West to NFC
West trade here.
The Seattle Seahawks are going to trade the 18th overall pick.
They're going to trade the 82nd overall pick.
and they're going to trade a
2026 second
to go up and get their man
and they're going to select Jackson Dart
at the 11 overall.
Your thoughts on that trade offer?
It's a heavy one to move up seven spots.
Is that enough to get this one done?
Yeah, I'm a little mad at you
because I was going to do this with Dallas's pick next.
So I'm mad.
We're now fighting.
Let me see here.
I'm just doing some basic math.
18th, 80s.
second 2020.
It's a little light.
It's a little light, Theo.
How about if I, how about if I throw in a 20,
27 fourth?
2027.
I'm squeezing you here.
Or we could throw in, you know what?
We have the two compensatory picks.
So Seattle has the compensatory picks of 137
and 173.
What if we throw in 173 here
and give you another pick this draft?
All right, we'll do that.
73. I still think the listeners are going to think that's light, but I'm not a draft trade value
chart stickler. I think you got to do what's best for your team. Only moving back six slots and
picking up three additional picks is huge for me. So let's go ahead. Let's go ahead and do that.
And that should be an early second next year in 2026 as well. Seattle, you know, obviously this could be
somewhat of a transition year. So let's let's let's get that that pick in. Jackson Dart off the board.
now you are OTC with the Dallas Cowboys.
Yeah.
So my thought here with Dallas is like, you know, the next tier of offensive linemen is kind of the same.
So like, do, you know, are they going to rush out to grab a, you know, they don't want to start that run, I don't think.
But let me think here.
Dallas Cowboys, what do the Dallas?
They probably be in on Gentie.
He's not there.
They probably like Membo.
He's not there.
Let's go,
man.
All right.
Well, since we have to make the pick,
we're going to go,
we're going to stay inside the state of Texas and go Kelvin Banks here.
Zach Martin retiring is a big deal.
I think when you think about the best versions of the Dallas Cowboys
and through our lifetime Theo,
their identity has been offensive line, right?
I mean, that's who they are.
Even as recently as the Zeke years,
you know, when Zeke was great,
and it was offensive line.
I think we got to get back to,
that and they've made massive investments with Tyler Guyton last year and Tyler Smith the year before
that we're going back to the well on Kevin Kelvin Banks Jr. And now when you look at it,
we have four really solid young offensive linemen and two guys I already mentioned plus Cooper
Beebe. Now we add Banks to the mix. We have Terrence Steel still at right tackle. This thing's
coming together, baby. We got four or five pieces. It locked up for the next four years or so.
Kind of like what we're doing here.
And then if we move on from Terrence Steel,
we can put Banks out there at right tackle.
We can move Tyler Smith over to right.
We got options.
All these guys are flexible.
Banks has tackle guard potential,
Smith tackle guard potential,
Guyton tackle guard potential.
So kind of like what we're doing here.
We're versatile.
We're going to get our best five on the field.
Yeah, and I had Kelvin Banks going 12 overall Dallas last time we did this.
I think it's a great fit.
Another versatile lineman, a plug-in play one,
a little less steam with Banks than a guy like Membu now.
But I think Banks has a legitimate floor where if he falls down to like pick 15, 16, 17, someone's going to move up and get him.
This has been a long-term starter at Texas and a guy that a lot of people like at the next level.
So I'm OTC here at 13 with Miami.
And I think this is a, I think this is another trade.
I think this is a trade here.
This is the Denver Broncos trading pick number 20 and pick number 52 to move up seven spots and go and get Colston Loveland.
They get their joker.
They get their tight end.
They get a player that can help speed up the process when it comes to Bone Nix's development.
This has been a Denver's been connected with Loveland throughout the whole process.
but I think with Tyler Warren going inside the top 10,
it'll make them really have to kind of push the chips in
in order to move up and get him.
Because there's a number of other teams picking before 20
that we could either trade down or could, you know,
select Loveland themselves.
So do you think 20 and 52 is enough to get this done?
I think that's probably fine.
I do think the listeners, again, are going to think it's light.
Like if you're a Miami fan and you're trading back
seven spots.
They're going to want more compensation than that deal.
I can.
Okay, so let's let's go back to the draw.
Let's go back to the drawing board here.
I'm going to throw in, I'm going to go real aggressive here.
A third round pick in 2026.
That's exactly what I was going to say.
So we're on the same page there.
A 2026 third, I think gets this done.
Let's lock it in now.
Colston Loveland.
And Colston Loveland goes off the board and an ideal fantasy space.
Now, let's, let's pivot over here.
Now, Tyler Warren goes to New Orleans.
Colston Loveland ends up in Denver.
How should they be selected in rookie drafts if these two go with those spots and those landing spots?
For Dynasty listeners.
Same.
Tyler Warren first, Colston Loveland second.
But if you're talking overall ADP, I mean, these are both just awesome landing spots.
I got to say, gosh, we just did the mock with Derek Brown.
I took both of those guys, right?
Where do I have them going?
I think eighth and tenth overall.
So I'd bump that a spot each.
at the ninth. Let's say that. Do you think that this would be a Loveland flips with Warren
based on the landing spots? No, I still like, I still like, you know, Warren's overall upside.
What he gives you as a, like, a potential runner and a push push guy too, I think is super
underrated by the community right now. The push is taking over the league and he, I mean,
300 rushing yards last year and what, four touchdowns as a push guy, basically. So let's go.
So, yeah, that would be, that would be insane.
If you added four, five rushing scores on Tyler Warren's production as a tight end,
that you're starting to talk about a guy who could be the tight end three,
if not higher as a rookie.
That would be, that would be an insane outcome for him.
You're OTC here with the Indianapolis Colts.
Yeah, so Loveland was going to be my pick here.
You sniped me.
This was actually a realistic trade up in that I do think the Colts will be in on Tyler Warren
Warren and Colson Loveland.
and they don't get either here.
So this is tricky.
We've got a lot invested in wide receiver already.
I think we got to go defensive side of the ball here, unfortunately.
Let me see.
Let me see what I like.
All right.
I know what I'm doing.
I'm going to go another Texas player,
back-to-back Texas guys from me.
We're going to go Jadae Barron,
cornerback out of Texas.
I love everything about Jada Barron's game.
This dude is an absolute
freak to me.
He's insanely instinctual, but he's also explosive.
That combo of skill is really dangerous in the NFL.
He's like a bigger version of Devin Witherspoon,
who went in the top five overall a couple of years ago to Seattle.
He can play, you know, press man.
He can play off zone, read and react, match mirror style coverages.
He's going to be a perfect fit in that Gus Bradley defense.
And I know Gus likes bigger, longer corners.
Judea's not small, but he's also,
not your typical. He's not Richard Sherman's size, but that doesn't matter to me.
I think the instincts he brings the table, the ball skills, it fits with what Gus Bradley's looking for.
Yeah, I think that's a very realistic pick. And that was going to actually be my pick if he was still on the board with Atlanta at 15.
Now, I want to find an offensive player for Atlanta to select because they do it every single year.
But I think they'll be a little bit more pragmatic this year. They could go with another corner.
and a lot of times in these NFL draft, you see a positional run.
Certainly Will Johnson is standing out to me as a value at the cornerback position.
But I think that they stay in state.
I think that they're going to end up taking Jelon Walker here.
This is a player that I think could give them not only a pass rusher,
but a really just a high-level athlete on the defensive side of the ball that could be disruptive.
And they need guys like this in Atlanta.
I think that the offense is on the right track.
They've obviously invested when guys Bejohn Robinson and Michael Penix
in back-to-back drafts.
They could go back on the offensive side of the ball,
but I think they're going to end up going with Jelon Walker out of Georgia right here at 15.
They stay in state.
Walker was really, really good for Georgia.
Georgia guys have continually been producing at the next level.
Jelon Walker off the board of 15.
Your thoughts on that pick?
I mean, you just crushed me again.
Oh, my God. I love sniping you, Brett, and this is not planned out.
So I guess I'm on point when I'm getting my defensive guys incorrectly.
Yeah, this is there isn't a better fit for, for Arizona than Jay. Is it Jalan or Jalen?
I've been calling Jalen. Jalen, excuse me on this one.
Yeah, so Arizona, you've talked about him as a great fit for Arizona.
Expand on that.
Yeah, just, you know, we saw what John Gannon was able to do with Hassan Reddick in Philadelphia.
and Jalen Walker might be the closest thing to a Hassan and Redick clone I've seen.
Very similar play styles.
Jelan Walker or Jalen Walker might even be more explosive than Hassan Reddick.
So I think that that'd be a great fit getting gaining a guy like that.
They did get Baron Browning in a trade last year and they just resigned him.
But for Atlanta, man, they need juice on the edge.
And Jalen Walker is going to give him that juice.
And I love his ability to play in space as well.
They now have Matthew Judon and Jalen Walker.
Both those guys are kind of your stand-up,
edge rusher types who can do some extra things.
And I think the extra things is how you win in the margins.
And Atlanta needs a big upgrade on their defense.
So let's go.
Keep us going here.
Arizona, I sniped you.
So which way would they go here or do we have a trade?
I don't know who would be looking to trade up.
Let me think.
I think the consensus is that John Gannon is going to push for a defensive player here.
They need talent big time.
I'm going to go with, I don't think I've mocked this one time this offseason,
but I'm going to go with Kenneth Grant here.
I love that.
Michigan defensive tackle.
He is a monster.
We've talked about it before, but there aren't guys his size that move the way he does.
He's a special athlete.
I think people look at him and they just think nose tackle.
He's so much more than a nose tackle.
He can play three technique.
He can rush the passer.
It's not as traditional as a Warren Sat per se or an Aaron.
but he gets it done as a pass rusher.
He's going to be disruptive in the backfield.
He's going to create a lot of second and long and third and long situations by himself.
He also will make the edge rushers better just from his presence requiring a double team.
I think this would be a best bang for buck scenario for Arizona to get Kenneth Grant at 16th overall.
Yeah, it's sort of Jordan Davis part two with Kenneth Grant.
Would you agree that's sort of a just a guy who is a massive presence on the interior defensive line?
I will command double teams.
Just makes any defense better, really, Kenneth Grant.
Yeah, he's a significantly better prospect than Jordan Davis to me.
Jordan Davis is very unrefined from a hand technique standpoint, hand usage.
The idea of Jordan Davis is awesome.
Big planet theory, freak athlete, mutant guy.
Kenneth Grant is that.
Andy actually has developed technique.
Like this is a, yes.
All right, there we go.
Kenneth Grant off the board.
Okay, so 17.
Let's get 17 in.
and then we're going to take a quick break.
17, the Cincinnati Bengals,
this is sort of a wild card pick.
I think they could use a receiver,
even with T. Higgins, I think they use a receiver.
Tight end sort of doesn't seem as pressing,
especially with the two tight ends off the board.
I think if Loveland or Warren fell to 17,
despite resigning Mike Jaseki,
I think they would probably pull the trigger on either one of those guys.
So for me, Cincinnati here needs another guy
who can really affect the defensive side of the ball.
There's all sorts of rumors that maybe Trey Hendrickson could be on the way out.
But I think this makes sense for James Pierce, unbelievable athlete out of Tennessee, ran the 40
extremely fast.
This has been a guy that you've projected in this range in multiple mocks.
I projected going to Tampa Bay a few times at 19, but I think he actually goes two picks
higher, goes at 17.
I think that there is going to be a couple defensive tackles that they would also
consider here for the for the bangles but i think when it comes to james pierce getting to the
quarterback having a guy who could really develop into a an impactful pass rusher at the next level
with that athletic testing number james pierce off the board at 17 your thoughts yeah i love james
pierce as a player now i'm a little unsure of the scheme fit with cincinnati but at this point they just
need juice off the edge and if they're going to lose hendricks they got to make an investment into
replacing him, right? So I think James Pierce is a top 15 player in this class. I don't know why
the community has soured on him so much. It's sort of weird. Even when I was doing my mock for the
site yesterday, I was like, I was having a hard time slotting him because I feel like I like him more
than the NFL does. But this would be a really fun spot. I do think if the board played out
this way, they would go edge for sure. Whether that's Pierce or not, I don't know. But I think they
have to go edge. They need help on defense and they need help to replace your hinders thing. So
I yeah the explosive nature of Pearson kind of you know he gets a lot of easy wins he makes
tackles look silly with how fast he is with that quick step so I like it I like it a quick recap
of our quick recap of our last few picks Seattle selects Jackson Dart and 11 after trading up
with San Francisco Dallas selects Kelvin Banks offensive lineman out of Texas at 12 a trade up
Denver trades up to 13 selects Colston Loveland the tight end for Michigan 14 Indianapolis
select Jade Barron cornerback out of Texas.
15 overall.
Jalen Walker, the linebacker slash edge rusher out of Georgia, 15 to the Atlanta Falcons.
16.
Kenneth Grant goes to Arizona, huge defensive tackle.
And then at 17, the Cincinnati Bengals select James Pierce, edge rusher out of Tennessee.
When we come back, Brett Whitefield is OTC with the San Francisco 49ers at pick 18.

Welcome back to Fantasy Points.
Theo Greminger and Brett Whitefield.
And we're going to be covering NFL draft coverage,
dynasty rookie,
rookie draft coverage.
Fantasy Points is the place you need to be for all of your NFL draft and dynasty
and redraft needs.
Let's keep this thing going here.
18 overall.
San Francisco trades down.
Which way do they go here, Brett?
Yeah, this is a successful trade down because they're still going to get the guy.
I've been mocking to them.
Donovan Isariku from Boston College,
edge guy, they need an injection of talent on their edge or on their D-line in general to go with Nick Bosa, to get back to where this team, when this team was competing for Super Bowls, that D-line was in good shape.
They've, you know, kind of d-windled over the years. It's time to reignite that fire.
Izeruque is, he's an awesome player. He's been my edge three through the whole process. Then he went to the combine and showed out there, you know, incredibly agile, explosive player. He's long, pretty much exactly what Robert Sell is looking for in his edge guy.
this is a great fit.
Yeah, this is one.
And I think that could also ignite a run.
We saw James Pierce go at 17.
Now we see as Riku go at 18.
This is and Kenneth Grant at 16 and Walker at 15.
So I think this could ignite sort of a cleanup of edge rushers and also interior
linemen, basically a defensive line run.
We know it's going to happen at some point, Brett.
This is just a really strong year for defensive tackle.
and edge rushers. I'm going to go with Shemar Stewart.
Shamar Stewart here at 19.
Tampa Bay was, they were like eighth overall in Sacks this year.
They had a strong pass rush presence.
But I think Shemar Stewart, he has the ability to develop here.
And you've talked about this.
This is not a production profile.
This is a traits guy.
And I think this was a really good fit for him to land on a team where he has a chance
to not have to really,
come out the gate and give them a high level of production,
but maybe by mid-season,
this is a guy that could really, really help that defense.
The offense is in a really strong place.
Baker Mayfield looks like Chris Godwin could be coming back.
Obviously, Bucky Irving took a huge step forward.
They averaged 29 points a game last year.
So I think they go with the defensive side of the ball.
They take the freaky athlete in Stewart a little bit earlier
than some people might like to see.
But when it comes to Stewart, I think someone's going to fall in love.
Your thoughts?
yeah, there's pretty much three teams that I think will be in the mix for Stewart before this,
and that's New England, New Orleans, and Seattle.
Although, you know, New England's not going to go Shamar Stewart at four, I don't think.
New Orleans chased a different kind of unicorn on the offensive side,
and then Seattle came up for the quarterback.
So in this scenario, this is exactly how Shamar Stewart ends up at 19.
I do think his combine measurables and all that, I think the NFL will overdraft him a little bit.
But if he were to get to a spot like 19, it's because of the way this board played out.
makes perfect sense. So I like the fit too. I'm way more comfortable with Samar Stewart at 19 than say nine overall.
I think that's a way better proposition there for him. And, you know, Tampa's got, you know, they're going to deploy him right away.
But the Todd Bull's system is going to allow him to get a lot of, you know, free looks at the quarterback too.
And that that's exciting because he's so freaky explosive and the closing speed is so good.
Okay, which way are we going with the next pick? This was the trade down spot for Miami.
Yeah, let me think here.
what do we got for man this is another really difficult one like really like i'd love to go
o line right and solidify that o line i just don't know i don't think there's a guy here worth
taking so let's go um oh man i don't know it's a tough one this is a the way this fell this is a
tough spot man i'll tell you what i think they would do here i think they would they would
eskew need and I think this would be the Will Johnson pick.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but Dolphins fans would probably be pissed, but all right,
let's do it.
Yeah, I mean, I just think it makes too much sense.
Johnson and Jada Barron, their neck and neck, I would say, for cornerback too.
And they get him at a few picks later.
Johnson's just, I mean, this was maybe the best player on Michigan's national title run.
And again, I think he's a really, really strong cornerback prospect.
to get them at 20 despite needing alignment,
they can take shots in the second round.
And they picked up additional picks from the trade back.
So they feel maybe the best available is right there for them.
Now, Pittsburgh here at 20.
Pittsburgh went out and, oh, excuse me, at 21.
Pittsburgh here at 21, this is one where we saw them go out and trade for D.K. Metcalf.
So I don't think that this is necessarily precluding them from,
a wide receiver though because I think George Pickens could be out the out the door.
This is a, this is a pick where do they keep leaning into pass catcher here?
And do they, they draft a replacement for George Pickens?
Pickens is going to be a free agent a year from now.
And I think he's going to get traded.
So I'm going to say shock pick.
I'm going to say that the Pittsburgh Steelers at 21 select Matthew Golden.
And they get the super fast wide receiver to pair with D.K.
and they push the chips in here and they go with two huge wide receiver additions.
Brett, tell me how much you hate this pick for Pittsburgh or do you like it?
I mean, I'm not a George Pickens guy.
So whatever, you know, getting ahead of the curve on, you know, guys that you expect to not be with your team is fine.
I do feel like maybe they could address the receiver thing next year.
DeKem Metcalf is good enough that he can carry a wide receiver room.
so I don't think you have to like force this to make sure you got a guy for when Pickens leaves.
But man, I'm never going to be mad about putting elite pass catchers at all three spots on the field.
I really like Calvin Austin though.
So like to me, that's like, oh, what do we do with Calvin Austin now?
But it is what it is.
I think it's fine.
Okay, so let's let's keep this thing going.
This is a fun one.
This is a fun one.
There's a fantasy listeners right now who want you to say a running back name.
Does the does the LA Chargers do the right thing here?
offer us fantasy managers,
or do they go with another position?
They're going to go another position,
but the fantasy community is still going to be happy with it.
They're going to go another wide receiver here.
I love that.
My guy from Stanford, E.E.M.Nor,
I think when you talk, building a competent wide receiver room
with complementary skill sets,
Ayuminaur complements Ladd-McConkie,
probably better than any other receiver in this draft class.
A big X-type alpha guy who's going to do a lot of the dirty work.
He's physical.
he's a route runner he's going to set the tone of the run game i know jim harbaugh wants elic i umanor
because of this dude's mentality in the run game he's going to go get after it no block no rock as a
monster the man lives by he's a charger through and through also staying in the home state of california
here i guess he's canadian technically but he played college ball in california so i love this pick
yeah i think i mean we we we love we love eelick and he's been a guy we've been super high on
we've been high on golden.
I think this could start a wide receiver run.
The Green Bay Packers were linked to D.K. Metcalf.
They apparently made an offer to try to trade for him.
This is one where I think Green Bay really needs a wide receiver.
I think they're a dark horse if a team's going to trade for George Pickens,
because I think the culture is strong in Green Bay.
They could take on a guy that's maybe a not the greatest locker room guy.
But I think Green Bay addresses their wide receiver need here.
they're in Big Ten country and they stay with the Big Ten player and they select a Mecca Agbuka.
They need pass catchers in Green Bay.
Egbuka as a power slot can coexist with a guy like Jaden Reed, who I don't think they even view Jaden Reed as something where like the fantasy community wanted Reed to be more than the Packers necessarily view him as.
I think that they go wide receiver here.
They get a Mecca Egbuka.
And outcome wise, Egbuka has a chance to lead the team in targets as a rookie.
this would be a really great landing spot for him.
Quick thoughts on that one before Minnesota picks, Brett.
Yeah, I like a book of the player quite a bit.
I call him a quarterback's easy button.
He does a lot of the short part of the field work that just, it's tough.
He's one of the best guys at deconstructing zone coverages I've seen in a while.
He's kind of like a souped up Rashi Rice.
So I think that's a win.
I do have serious concerns on how him and Jaden Reed played together.
Jaden Reed has been primarily a slot guy for them.
can also play on the outside a little bit. So can Egg Buka. So maybe the combination of the two,
you're, you know, it is what it is. And maybe this team also with the healthy Luke Musgrave
leans into 12 personnel a little bit more. And then it doesn't matter. And then you're playing
like Buka and Reed together with with Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave. So I guess all in all,
it's probably a win. Okay, your OTC here, Minnesota Vikings at 24, another potential
running back spot, but they re-signed Aaron Jones. Do you think that has any, any, like, do you think
that that changes their process here at 24 or is there still wide open for a potential running back?
I mean, Joan, it feels like, it feels like there's potential for another running back here.
Yeah.
Whether they do that or not, though, I don't know.
I'm tempted to feel like they need a defensive tackle, but for the sake of not copying my mock,
I'm going to go with Amari and Hampton here.
And I think if you're, you know, Hampton just gives you what Aaron Jones doesn't.
tough inside running. Obviously he can win the edge as well. He's a little, he's not going to be as good as
Aaron Jones on the outside zone stuff. That's primarily what Minnesota does. But Minnesota wants to be
a thunder and lightning style back field where they have the out the lightning with the outside zone.
And then they have the duo with the counter punch. And so I think Hampton comes in. He's your
downhill runner in that system. And he's just going to be phenomenal there. Now Houston at 25,
this is one where, again, they traded for Christian Kirk.
I still think they'll be in the market for a wide receiver.
But here at 25, not so sure.
I think this is also a potential trade down situation where they're going to listen to a lot of offers.
But I think ultimately, Josh Simmons, if he wasn't hurt this past year for Ohio State,
could have been in contention for the first lineman off the board.
I'm going to say Simmons goes here at 25
and they just take sort of best available
CJ Strata quarterback, they take another buck eye
and Josh Simmons and this seems like sort of a
just a great value pick Brett
to get this sort of talent on the offensive line
at pick 25 instead of having to select him
at like pick 11 like some mock drafts are projecting.
Love it. I think that's a great spot.
I have them going O line and most mocks at this point.
either that or wide receiver with Christian Kirk.
It may have tempered the need for wide receiver, so I love it.
Pick 26 with the Rams.
I view this as an all-in play, all right?
And it's going to shock you a little bit, I think.
But man, we've got our defense back on track.
They probably could go corner here, but I think they can get a corner in the second round.
D-line is in good shape.
The O-line's in good shape.
Let's go with another wide receiver.
We're just going to keep throwing gasoline on this fire.
Matthew Stafford's 37 years old.
Our window to win right now is right now.
Devante Adams is older.
Pook and Nakua's had massive injury issues his entire career going back to college.
He was banged up last year.
So we're going with another wide receiver here,
but we're going with one you probably aren't expecting,
and that's Jack Besh.
Jack Bess Fits the Los Angeles Rams in the Sean McVeigh system like an absolute glove.
He is a big power slot receiver can also play on the outside,
but the short area of quickness and the ability to win routes
with the body control and hands that he has,
it reminds you a Cooper Cup,
not to make the classic white guy cop,
but man, this is,
this would be sexy.
Imagine Jack Bash with DeFonte Adams,
Pooka Nakuua,
then Tutu Atwell is your extra speedy,
fast, fourth receiver gadget guy.
This,
we're cooking with gasoline here.
Yeah,
it's a ridiculous comparison to compare him to,
to compare him to Cooper Cup.
He's technically,
he's the next Adam Thielen.
I'm still down with this one.
But I love that.
I love that pick.
And again, everything that the Rams have done is sort of push the chips in.
Go get Adams, renegotiate with Stafford, and now go get another weapon for him.
I love this pick in Jack Betch.
So 27 overall Baltimore Ravens.
And this is just how it is.
Every year the Ravens and the Eagles seem like they're picking from a group of guys that just slip because teams are filling needs.
And they just pick and choose whoever they want.
So Baltimore, for me, they're going to end up taking Mike Green here.
And I know that there's some off the field concerns,
but you're talking about a Baltimore team that had 54 sacks last year,
second most in the NFL.
And then they go and get a guy who led college football in sacks,
had a really strong senior bowl.
Mike Green is a potential disruptive force on the edge.
I think Baltimore would be happy with this value.
And this is a very strong organization that I think has a little less concerns
about a guy coming.
in and sort of changing the culture in a negative way.
Mike Green goes off the board at pick number 27.
Kansas City Chiefs are so mad right now.
They had, they had to put,
there were three picks away for being able to grab another character concern.
Yeah.
Yeah, that would be, that would have been the best.
So your, your, your, your, uh, your Detroit lines here at 28,
they've got a lot of really, really attractive names on the board as well.
Yeah, they do.
And they're going to get the guy.
I've, I've put to them in the last two mocks.
And that's Mikel Williams from.
Georgia, the other Georgia edge defender.
When you look at what they look for in an edge, big, long, heavy-handed dudes with
pass-rush potential, but they have that kind of pocket-collapsing ability and ability to set
the edge as a run defender, I think McKell Williams fits them to a T. I'm not the biggest
McKell Williams guy personally, so this isn't, this isn't homerism seeing him fall to Detroit. I actually
would probably pass if I were then. I just don't think there's any way they pass on it if he's
out the board. So I'm going McEl Williams to the Detroit lines here at 29.
Okay.
All right.
28. 28 for Detroit.
Yeah.
And so a 29, I'm OTC with the Washington commanders.
Washington went out and got Debo Samuel.
I think this is going to, this is a potential pick for a Luther burden if they didn't
make the, the Debo Samuel move.
Who's that?
Those guys would seem like they'd have.
I know you're not, this is, this is not the name to mention around Brett, but I think
this would be a potential wide receiver pick.
I think there's a little less pressure on Washington to select the wide out now that they
went out and got Debo.
Even though they didn't pay a whole lot for him, I think they have plans for him.
They're also going to extend Terry McLaurin.
So they're just going to be a little bit older at wide receiver, older at tight end with
Zach Hertz as well.
They cut Jonathan Allen, though.
So this is one where I think they can address an interior lineman need here.
And I think Walter Nolan would be a really, really good fit as a.
past rush or force at the defensive tackle position,
not an overly heavy lineman,
but has a great motor and can be just a set it and forget it player for them.
I think that Walter Nolan makes a lot of sense for Washington.
And I like using the 29th pick on him.
This is a guy where we've seen him projected 10 picks earlier.
I think 29's a really, really great value for him.
Yep, I agree with that.
That's an insane value.
I probably prefer offense.
or offensive line even if I'm if I'm the commanders here but it's hard to pass on the value of getting a defensive playmaker like that good stuff so brett on the clock with buffalo here oh
Theo how how close should I stick to my mock because the guy I want buffalo to take is still sitting right there I think you stick to the mock here this is it's it's falling in line for you it's all right we're going to go nick imamoree safety from south Carolina no
defensive coach in the league has prioritized the safety position more than Sean
McDermott has.
That's going back to his days in Carolina.
Fast forward the clocks to Buffalo.
They had the highest safety payroll when they had Micah Hyde and why is the other
guy's name slipping my mind.
Gosh, this is what getting old looks like.
Anyways, they had the great safety duo for years there.
And last year, we saw their defense take a small step back.
And I think it was because they shut up.
reshuffle the cards at safety.
DeMar Hamlin, Taylor Rap, just didn't get it done.
DeMarie is a free agent technically.
So we're going to go Nick Emanwari, the freak safety from South Carolina,
who can play nickel corner.
You can play dime linebacker.
You can come up in the box.
He can play deep safety.
Super versatile guy that Sean McDermott has loved through his entire career as a coach
in the NFL.
Picture perfect matchup here.
Yeah.
And I think like this is one where a lot of people will say, you know,
E. Menwry, not as good a player as Matt
Alachi Starks, but at the end of the day,
Eman Worry, absolute freak
at the Combine and also a really good player at South Carolina.
I think this is reflective of what NFL teams will do.
I think Starks will be the second safety off the board,
and it'll be Eamon Worry as the first one.
I actually even think he scored better.
His film score was higher than Starks to me.
And then it's not a valued position in the NFL.
So if you're going to take a safety in the first round,
he better have an insane ceiling and it's, you know,
a good upside.
and Emanuarez athleticism kind of by far shatters the ceiling for him.
So, yeah.
So this is one where at 31, I think Kansas City wants to draft an offensive lineman,
but I don't think there's necessarily an edge pick for them here.
This is a trade down situation.
And this is going to be the New England Patriots trading up a few spots going from pick 38 to pick 31.
they're going to trade pick 38 and they're going to throw in pick number let's say pick number
does pick number 77 get it done here Brett or could they could they really softball it with 105?
Well, let me tell you in my mock I have the Eagles doing this trade and I have the Eagles given up or sorry the patrons given up 305 and a 2025 fifth to come up to 32.
Yeah.
So I'm going to steal that.
I'm going to steal that idea.
It's going to be 38, 105, and the 2026 fifth.
So it's three picks to move up.
Kansas City will still be able to draft an offensive lineman,
potentially running back at 38.
So they are able to make this move.
And New England comes up.
And New England at 31 is going to select Jalen Knoll,
wide receiver, Iowa State.
I know you've projected him to sneak into the first round.
We actually see a huge run on wide receivers here.
New England's able to walk out of the first.
round with Armand Membue and Jalen Knoll.
This is a huge win-win for them in terms of speeding up Drake May's process, getting them
in a position to win, and giving Drake May his best wide receiver, Jalen Knoll to the moon
with this landing spot.
Yeah, this is exactly who I had them training up for.
So, Jailunel's a, you know, don't let the 5-11, 5-10 things scare you.
He's a do-all receiver.
He can play on the outside and win vertically.
but he's also another easy button type guy where design touches, short area quickness for days.
He's going to beat man.
He can beat zone.
Does it all.
And the Brett Whitefield Ahman Ross St. Brown like whispers when we talk about this profile.
That's a potential outcome if he lands in this role because they would treat him as a wide receiver one, move him around, and feature him in a prominent role right away.
This would be a slam dunk landing spot.
Jalen Knoll would go way up in rookie drafts.
this landing spot. Awesome. All right. I'm going to I'm going to cap it off. Pick 32,
Philadelphia Eagles. I know they re-signed Zach Bond, but I can't help but think that this dude
is a first round pick. There's no way Jihad Campbell makes it out of the first round. It's just
not possible to me. So whether that's Eagles actually making the pick or trading back,
but for me, pairing Jihad Campbell with the Zach Bonn at linebacker would be so attractive.
It's just unbelievable. We've seen Howie Rosen kind of flip.
his philosophy where before he thought linebackers and running backs were positions you don't pay,
you don't invest anything into.
Well, guess what?
He went and paid Sequin Barclay.
He went and paid Zach Bond.
We're throwing more gas on that fire.
Jihad Cable, who can also give you a little bit of juice as an edge rusher too.
They might be losing Josh Sweat and Milton Williams and free agency.
So he'll give you something there.
He can kind of play that Hassan Reddick role if you need him to.
But ultimately, I love the idea of him playing next to Zach Bond.
Insane amount of athleticism at linebacker now.
This is a crazy fit.
And every single year when we get to, you know, let's grade the first round, Philadelphia usually has an A next to their name.
They'll get an A next to their name for this one. Brett, this was so much fun. Look for Brett's NFL mock draft article dropping over at fantasy points.com.
