Week 14 fantasy football waiver wire ads.
Which players should fantasy managers be adding for week 14?
And which players should fantasy managers be stashing for the fantasy football playoffs?
Theo Greminger, Joe Dolan, and Tom Brawley on Fantasy Football Daily on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network and Fantasy Points YouTube.
Guys, we made it to the end of the line here.
For some leagues, week 14 is the end.
It's the last week you can add players.
For other leagues, it's the last week that every manager can add players.
Next week, you might be dealing with only playoff managers being able to add some players.
And we've got to talk about a potential late season hammer at the wide receiver position.
We talked about Adonine Mitchell multiple times this season.
We talked about him when he was in Indianapolis Colt.
That didn't work out so well.
Then we talked about him when he was traded over to New York, another lease on life.
Garrett Wilson still on the injured reserve.
Adina Mitchell finally had the game that we knew he was capable of having.
Second round pick out of Texas in the 2024 NFL draft, tons of athleticism,
and now we're starting to see the usage and the production trend up.
Adonai Mitchell was the only wide receiver in the NFL in Sunday's games to go over 100 yards,
had 12 targets, caught eight of them for 102 yards and a touchdown, just looked awesome out
there. The Jets win 2724. Tom, is this a Adonai Mitchell's in our lineup for the rest of the
season type of performance? I think it is for now. I think they're going to be throwing it a little
bit more. They have Tyrod Taylor and quarterback now. So this offense has a little bit more juice.
And I think they've kind of been ramping them up to full usage here. So it's, it's him.
him and John Mechie at receiver.
They're going to be playing from behind quite a bit, you know, towards the end of the schedule
here.
It's not too overly difficult.
They got matchups against the dolphins, Jaguars, Saints, and Patriots coming up.
So nothing where you'd be scared to play him.
But he's always been the ass king in our fantasy points data.
He creates a lot of separation.
It's just drops have tended to kill him and just getting in the doghouse with Shane Steichen.
And so he's free from that.
This is an audition for him.
The Jets want to see if he could be the number two wide receiver next to Garrett Wilson moving forward.
And early returns are indicating that.
And I think John Metchy is also kind of playing for a role in this offense next year as well.
So this is a little audition for them.
They traded for them.
Both were former, you know, second day two picks.
And Mitchell has taken advantage of it.
And we were on this podcast last week.
We were, you pose the question, who would you rather have Mitchell or John Mechie moving forward?
And we'd like Mitchell a little bit more just because we're later in the season here.
If you're going for a fantasy championship, you need more of those high-end performances.
Metschi's more of a floor guy.
It's going to catch you up, you know, four or five passes.
But most weeks, the touchdowns and the yardage might not be there.
Mitchell, he has the better chance to give you a goose egg or whatever.
the stretch, but he also has this potential to get you 20 plus fantasy points in any given week
like he did last week. So especially if your team is, you know, not quite up to snuff.
You don't think you have the team that's maybe the best team in the league. You need a little bit
more variance. I think Mitchell is going to be the type of player you want to throw into your
lineup, maybe as a flex, maybe as a wide receiver three. And he can get you those big numbers
out of nowhere. Joe, anything to add on Adonai Mitchell. I mean, he's
clearly the number one ad this week in most leagues. Just sort of your confidence level in using
him. This is a very important week for a lot of fantasy managers. Yeah. The confidence level is not
like super high, but I love that there's some legitimate upside here. Like, I'd rather play him
than any Bill's wide receiver right now, which sounds ridiculous to say. I mean, the bills leaving
wide receiver in that game on Sunday was Brandon Cooks who had one catch, you know, for 13 yards. So
So the thing is that Darren Mojee, Aaron Glenn, they are in evaluation mode right now, right?
I have to presume.
I know Glenn's had some rough, some rough games, but I have to presume those guys, especially
Muzi are safe and have free reign over the next couple of years to build the jets as they see fit.
Why would they put anybody else out there for A.D. Mitchell?
They need to know how they're going to use that trove of picks to build this roster.
and they need to see, is wide receiver going to be a major need for us this off season?
The way I'm looking at it right now, I don't think it is the way Mitchell and Metchie have played.
Do they need to draft a wide receiver early with some of those picks?
Or can they continue building in the trenches and building that thing inside out?
So I think they're going to continue to give Mitchell as many looks as possible.
He has answered the bell so far.
We'll see if he continues to do it going forward.
But this was a highly encouraging performance.
Yeah, and I was joking with Tom saying he's a not in my league bro kind of guy.
And I do think if you're an NFFC, FPC manager, he was scooped up in a lot of leagues,
but then he was also cut when METCHI came on and put on those stats.
So I just looked on my waiver wires in FFPC.
He's available in a bunch of leagues.
So this is one of those end of the line, can't take it with you type guys, where if you still
have some fab, push the chips in.
I love what both of you guys talked about where it's an audition for Adonai
Mitchell. That was really what this trade opened up for him. It was a breath of fresh air.
Everyone remembers the play that got him into the doghouse where he fumbled at the goal line.
But if you just watch the play over and over again, I think we joked that week. I mean,
I could watch that play on repeat. It was absolutely ridiculous stuff. It was like a spin move,
completely juke to man out of his, out of his cleats, and then just decides to drop the ball on
the one. So he had some moments where he really flashed in Indianapolis. Big shout out to Brett
Whitefield and the fantasy points data team.
Mitchell's been a player that we've been circling for multiple years.
Scott Barrett as well, big Adonai Mitchell guy.
The average separation score, he just jumps through the roof.
So I love this one because we're getting elite athleticism.
We're getting the type of talent that led Texas in touchdown catches when he was at Texas,
also caught a touchdown in the college football playoffs in previous seasons when he was
at Georgia.
Mitchell's been a talented guy, second round pick.
we're getting him in this usage where 12 targets guys 12 targets number one show in town so
if you have fab left push the chips in for ad an eye Mitchell i think he's a wide receiver
three with a ton of upside moving forward let's talk about some of these replacements though
adenai mitchell has this huge week but if you played alman ra saint brown like i did on thanksgiving
day really really tough one player goes down with an early injury exits the game you're like okay
amon ra come on back in the game and then all of a sudden amon raw announced out for the
game. We find out it's an ankle injury. They stress this and the beat reporters seem pretty
optimistic, low ankle sprain. So we're thinking maybe a week, maybe two. I've seen him
projected by most to return in week 15. But for us looking for a next man in opportunity,
Sam Laporta, probably done for the year. Now Amman Ross St. Brown missing a week or two.
Jamison Williams, the like the ups and downs continue, a smash game on Thanksgiving,
but after Jameson, which Detroit Lions wide receiver should fantasy managers be betting on
here? Let's start with you, Joe. Yeah, I would think the easiest, the easiest answer is
Isaac Tesla. The problem for Isaac Tesla, it's been touchdown or bust for him.
Pulling up, pulling up the data from fantasy points here, he was second on the team in
routes. However, and if you want to make it an argument for somebody else, almost all of his
routes run from the perimeter, 81% of them in week 13. The slot receiver was,
Eric Tom Kennedy. Ask not what you can do for your fantasy team. Sorry, I've botched that. I have
No, that was all right. It was out of nowhere, but I'll give you props on that. I've heard much
worse Kennedy impersonations than what Joe just dropped there. So big, big props to you on that one, Joe.
Yeah. So Tom Ken, if you need somebody to do something for your fantasy team, he will be the
primary slot receiver. So I would think Tesla has the higher ceiling. But Tom Kennedy could be the
chain mover. And if you think Jameson Williams is going to take all of the high ceiling
perimeter touches, which, I mean, that would be my bet, is that James and Williams truly becomes
like a more of a go-to guy, then Tom Kennedy is going to be your your chain moving five catch
for 50 yard kind of guy. Tesla to me probably needs a touchdown to come through for you. Hell,
I mean, in his season so far, he's done nothing but score touchdowns. The problem is he's caught
like seven passes. Yeah, I'm I'm on Tesla. Like this game is a must win for Detroit. They have
the Dallas Cowboys at home. I'm chasing that touchdown with Tesla. I also think
with a week to prepare, maybe we see Tesla used just a little bit more normally like we would,
a starting wide receiver. They used all that draft capital to trade for him, get him in the
third round of this year's draft. And Tesla's had an absolutely ridiculous highlight reel.
A lot of those touchdown catches were like really, really impressive catches. So I'm betting on
Tesla. If I need a win this week, I'm pushing the chips in. I think there's a wide potential
variance here. Tesla could have like six points or Tesla could have like 20.
but I'm going to roll the dice on the talented big outside wide receiver. Tom, your thoughts
are you on Kennedy? Are you on Tesla? Do you want to talk Khalif Raymond? Yeah, I was going
to say, we should probably bring up Kleefe Raymond too. He has an ankle injury missed last week's
game. I do think if he's able, we'll see here. We're recording this earlier Monday. If he's
able to get a practice in on Monday or Tuesday, maybe he's the guy that does step into the
slot and he jumped over Tom Kennedy.
So that's one to look for, but I'm with you.
I would want to go for the upside with Tesla.
I do think he was kind of pushed into a bigger role than anticipated with such a,
that injury came like four or five snaps into the game on Thanksgiving Day.
So I do think we've seen some design kind of looks for him earlier in the season.
So maybe we get a few more looks to try to get him going early in the game.
They're already down Sam Leporter.
They need somebody else besides Demir Gibbs and James and Williams to be able to make a play.
So I do think we could see some kind of design-looking targets for Tesla early in this game against the Cowboys.
And certainly nothing to fear playing on the perimeter against the Cowboys defense.
So that would be my priority.
But just keep an eye out for the Khalif Raymond's injury report this week.
I do think he would kind of jump ahead into that slot role if he's able to play.
Speaking of replacement players, this has sort of been the.
year of the replacement quarterback where backup quarterbacks have come in and made fantasy football
impacts. We saw last night Marcus Mariotto with a really strong performance in Washington's
loss of Denver. Obviously, Jacoby Brissette has been awesome for almost his entire run in Arizona.
We saw Joe Flacco do it. Kirk Cousins is now back in in Atlanta. And we have another potential
replacement at the quarterback position. Justin Herbert getting surgery on Monday.
It's the non-throwing hand, but when it comes down to it, any optimism here, like there's a lot of people saying Herbert could just potentially play on Sunday.
I kind of tend to think that L.A. is going to give him the week off and go with Trey Lance here.
I could be completely wrong on this one.
It just seems like an absurdly short turnaround from a surgery.
Trey Lance in a one-game week is pretty appealing, especially if you're a Superflex manager,
a ton of mobility there.
We saw Trey Lance look really, really good
in the preseason at times this year.
Everyone knows the story with Trey Lance,
sort of a flame out quarterback,
but we've seen a lot of these guys sort of bounce back,
draft early, move on to a new franchise,
and then sort of rejuvenate your career.
Your enthusiasm levels for Trey Lance,
if we do get them for a one-week sample size here, Tom.
I would like to play them in some two QB leagues.
I do think they'll kind of
game plan around him. We'll probably see a very run-heavy type of game script. Last year,
we saw him a little bit. He played in week 18 for the Cowboys, you know, put up 244 yards in that
one. Only ran it six times for 26 yards, but that was also a week 18 game. Maybe they wanted to
see him more as a pass or nothing to really play for. They want to see what he could do from the
pocket. But I think in a kind of this kind of scenario where we're playing a week 14 and
kind of need a win against the Eagles.
We want to remain in the playoff picture.
I think it's going to be probably more of a run heavy game.
Probably, you know, we could see four to six design carries for him in this game.
So I do like his rushing upside.
But, and he does have a lot of nice weapons here.
So I wish the matchup was a little bit easier than going against the
cap, going against the Eagles.
But I do have some, you know, I do think he is appealing for anybody that's kind of
desperate for second quarterback right now.
Joe, with four teams on by in week 14, would Trey Lance be somewhere in that top 15, top 16 QB play on the week?
Has that great mobility and the weapons are strong in L.A.
It's a tough matchup.
I know the Eagles just got gashed on the ground by the bears,
but Caleb Williams did not have a particularly strong game through the air.
By the way, the thing about Justin Herbert, that was the big problem for him was he was not able to hand the ball.
off. So you also have this added complication of, I just saw Matt Zinnitz for CBS Sports
Report that there's optimism of Marion Hampton is going to be back this week. So are you going
to put on Marion Hampton back in a backfield with a quarterback who can't hand the ball off?
It seems like that's a recipe for disaster. So I'm kind of with you on Justin Herbert. It
feels like, and by the way, this game's on Monday. So they do actually have an extra day for
this. But it seems like a little bit, they'd err on the side of caution given this is a
conference game. But nonetheless. They do have the chiefs in week 15 too if they want to kind of
save their bullets for that game as well, Joe. Yeah, that's a really good point. So I think
Trey Lance just, you know, with teams on by this week, his mobility probably is a top 20 fantasy
quarterback for this week. But the last time he played against the Eagles was, I believe,
last year in Dallas. And he did not put up a good showing in that game. He obviously
has gotten more coaching this year and he's got great weapons. But,
But it's a tougher matchup.
I would rate it as a decent quarterback, too, in a superplex, is how I would say.
Yeah, and a big shout out to Kamani Vidal, who we talked about as an ad for multiple weeks.
Third 100 rushing yard game for Vidal this year, certainly one of the waiver wire ads of the season.
Trey Lance, an interesting one.
I think if you're a Justin Herbert manager, he's one that you really should prioritize.
Really difficult one for Herbert managers, especially in some leagues where, again,
And this is the last week to add anyone, if you're an FFPC, NFFC manager, you want to add
Trey Lance just to sort of protect your investment in Justin Herbert.
Let's take a quick break.
We come back.
Is a new pass catcher emerging in New Orleans down the stretch?
We're talking about Devon Velae right after this.

Welcome back. Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Griminger with Tom Broly and Joe Dolan.
Shameless promotion here, guys.
I'm launching a new podcast here on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network with Brett Whitefield.
Never too early to get started looking at the prospects in 2026.
If you're a dynasty or just a redraft manager, maybe you're going to be doing early
best ball drafts, or maybe you're just a NFL draft fan.
The 2026 NFL draft podcast, we're launching it.
We're recording episode one this week.
Brett Whitefield, unbelievable when it comes to the prospects.
We're going to talk NFL draft.
We're going to talk about prospects.
We're going to record it every single week right here on fantasy points.
Look for episode number one to drop on Fantasy Points YouTube early Sunday morning,
and you can subscribe to it anywhere you get your podcasts.
Guys, let's talk Devon Veilé here.
Devon Veilet, this is one that I think is very interesting because New Orleans was coming out of their buy week.
Veilay, they traded a fourth round pick in the preseason to get him from Denver,
which a lot of us looked at and thought was a slight overpay.
Velae, of course, was an older prospect.
Started off the 2024 season very strongly, then got banged up.
But this looks like it could be something.
Again, this is an offense with Kellan Moore where they're running a ton of plays.
The pace is always fantasy friendly.
Velae ends up with eight targets.
He catches all eight of them for 93 yards and a touchdown.
And again, this is coming out of the buy.
week. So Chris Olavé is going to get all he can handle, but it feels like Velae could give you
maybe some flex value. Your thoughts on this one, Tom. Yeah, I like it right now. This is a,
they kind of made an effort finally to get him involved. We had branded cooks obviously released.
They traded Rashid Shahid. But they, as he said, they gave up so much before the season started.
We were kind of expecting a larger role, kind of maybe early, at least by October. But
that never came until the last two weeks since they're by.
So this has been a concerted effort on their part.
Another one of these situations, kind of like the Jets we were talking about.
This is a little bit of an audition for Velaide to kind of solidify his spot as the number
two receiver behind Chris Alave moving forward.
And he's done fairly well here.
And right now we have Alvin Kamara.
We don't know what his status is.
So, you know, he's a, you know, has been a prominent pass catcher in this.
receiving core for, you know, basically the last decade. So we got to have those targets out of
the offense right now. Shaheed's targets are out of the offense. They've been frisky with Shuck
at quarterback, too. We've seen the last two weeks, even in trailing game scripts in the fourth quarter
in the second half of these games. They're still throwing it a lot. As you said,
Kellen Moore likes to, you know, use his offense with a lot of pace. So they're naturally getting more
plays off anyway. So I think this is adding up that he could at least be one of these
PPR guys off the waiver wire can get you four or five catches for 40 to 50 yards. And
he won't sink your lineup. He'll keep it afloat if you're just looking for a little bit
of stability here. And maybe we'll get a little bit more, though. I mean, he played fairly well
in this game. So maybe he's a guy that they want to kind of feature a little bit more down the
stretch. Joe, anything to add on valet? Well, number one, is it too late for my best ball teams to be
saved here. The Devon Valet was one of my most drafted wide receivers in this
long season. But hey, maybe, yeah, maybe there is a, there is a window for some of my
contending teams with Devon Valet. Let's also look at the facts. Number one, it was still
a ridiculous trade that the Saints made, but they did trade a fourth round pick for Devon.
I cannot believe they did that. That's like a top 100 pick that they traded for a 28 year old
wide receiver, but they invested a lot in him. This isn't just some like guy.
that they picked up off the waiver wire.
This is somebody they determined they knew they were going to suck
and they still traded their fourth round pick for him.
So I would think he's getting a good look to see if he's going to be a bigger part
of this offense going forward.
And they don't really have a choice, you know.
So I think Devon Valet is absolutely a viable pickup.
I'd probably have him right after Adonai Mitchell on the list.
Yeah, I'm with you.
I think Veilet is a great consolation prize if you don't get Mitchell.
I think that this eight targets is something that could be sort of static,
and we could see this every single week moving forward.
Again, the game flow is going to be positive for Veilay.
The Saints are going to be trailing often.
I think Tyler Shuck, as Tom mentioned,
we've mentioned him as a player that needs to be rostered in two quarterback formats.
He's showed enough that I think he's a locked-in QB2 for the rest of the season.
We talked about Devin Neal last week.
Devin Neal, I would say that the usage was very, very positive,
not really an ad this week.
He was scooped up last week,
but the Taysam Hill threat
was not what we thought it could be potentially.
So, yeah, Devon Vele, scoop him up,
continue to see this Saints youth,
well, not really youth,
inexperienced Saints down the stretch
with the 28-year-old Veilet operating
as the wide receiver two opposite Chris Ilave.
Another wide receiver who had a huge, huge week.
And this is one that I think it's like fantasy football law,
Tom, that we have to write about Dante
Wix, multiple times a season, every single season, and then we add him, and then he does
nothing, and then he has a game like this, and we're back to having to talk about him.
But Dantavian Wix, to his credit, looked awesome on Thanksgiving.
Two touchdown grabs, six catches for 94 yards, seven targets, had 28 PPR points.
If you played the one day slate in DFS, Dantabian Wix was like the slate breaker with that
performance at like a minimal price tag.
Is this something that could be potentially a building block for the rest of the season?
Now we've got Jaden Reed potentially coming back this week.
Christian Watson, 10 targets, seems like the de facto wide receiver one there.
Your thoughts here.
Let's start with you, Tom, on this one.
Wicks' enthusiasm level.
Very low, quite honestly.
I do expect Jaden Reed back this week, and I do think he's going to kind of jump back
right into that slot spot. Romeo Dobbs is kind of established himself as, you know, a full-time
player here since last year. Christian Watson, as you said, all these targets on Thanksgiving
Day. So we could even get Matthew Golden back. He's been close to playing. Couldn't on the short
week playing on Thanksgiving Day. So I think we're going to get both Golden and Jayden Reed
back. So this is one of those. People are going to look at his performance on Thanksgiving Day.
you're going to want to run out and get that guy off of the waiver wire, I would,
I would let somebody else do it. I do think he's probably going to get, you know,
if not buried, but at least in stuck in a little bit of this rotation that we've seen
plenty of times in Green Bay in the year, you know, last over the last couple of years.
So I'm going to let somebody else take the Wicks bait and I'll stay.
I'll go through like the Devon Baylays and the A.D. Mitchells that we're looking at
right now. Yeah. And we mentioned the Dantavian Wicks. We talked
about Adonai Mitchell. I guess we're talking about every player that at one point has had a
hive. And we've got to talk about Jalen Coker because Joe Dolan, Jalen Coker looks like he's
back in our waiver wire graces, leads Carolina in receiving yards. This was a massive win for
Carolina beating the NFC's best team in the L.A. Rams in Carolina. Dave Canales has this team
playing with confidence, playing with a lot of juice. And this seems like a big positive week from
Jalen Koker. Is this something we can build on? Are you interested in adding him off of the
waiver wire? Yeah, for sure. And look, Bryce Young has started to look. I know it's been up and down
for Bryce Young, but he has had some very strong performances over the last month. And look at this,
the target number for Jalen Koker, 4-4-6. So is that going to be like league winning? Probably
not. But I wonder if he is earning a little bit more trust from Bryce Young. They like the, they had a great
connection down the stretch last year. He had a strong game against LA. I think he's more of a
wide receiver five type of player, but worth a pickup just in case like that, that increase in
usage here from this game against the Rams is for real. He's got some good size. They had great
chemistry on that touchdown. I mean, Jalen Koker saw single coverage. He knew the ball was going to
come his way. And Bryce Young saw it immediately and knew he was going there. And he dropped it right in
the bucket and Jalen Koker was waiting for it. So that's something that's going to earn
trust from a receiver. Yeah, I'm into it. And Tom, your thoughts on Coker and also Bryce Young,
Bryce Young with two, three touchdown games in his last three games played. And again, Carolina
is winning games here. So we're starting to get a lot more confidence about this offense moving
forward. You have the week 14 by week. Yeah, that's the problem. But when Young comes out of
by, the schedule is pretty interesting. Week 15 on the road in New Orleans. Then week 16,
Tampa Bay in Carolina, your thoughts on adding Bryce Young as potentially a QB2 for the fantasy
playoffs or in Superflex. He's probably rostered, but sort of your enthusiasm level for him moving
forward. Yeah, I'm much more excited than I was a month ago. He's definitely started to show signs
of life again. We saw this at the end of last year, too, where he kind of caught fire a little bit,
very slow start to the season. He was benched for Andy Dalton, then, you know, starts putting together a
bunch of good performances in the back half of the season.
So maybe we're starting to see that again.
Maybe he's just one of these guys that turns it on later in the season.
And now he's getting, we have Jalen Coker, who was out for much of the beginning part of
the season.
He's starting to emerge again.
Xavier Leggett flashes every once in a while.
So Ted McMillan, we need a little bit more consistency out of him.
But his receiving course come together.
I do like these matchups in weeks 15 and 16 against New World.
Orleans and Tampa Bay. If you're able to, you know, roster him through his by this upcoming
week, I do think he has the potential to at least, you know, put together like a low end
QB2 type of performance. Yeah, I think he's interesting. He's exactly the kind of quarterback that
I like to have as a backup here. But we're chasing Coker because Coker's one that the three of us
were on in the preseason. Of course, he missed time to start the season. Him ending the year strongly
could be in the wheelhouse. And again,
Carolina has the buy week.
We could see the post-by-week usage really ramp up for Jalen Coker down the stretch.
Them having a secondary, consistent pass catcher opposite Tetero and McMillan,
that's going to help the entire offense.
Us Rico-Dowdle managers don't like seeing it,
but now they have two healthy running backs, Chuba Hubbard's being ramped up.
This is a fun team that's playing for an awful lot down the stretch in Carolina.
For deep league managers, I'll mention monitor the Marvin Harrison Jr. situation.
Marvin Harrison, Jr., a heel injury,
exited yesterday's game.
If he's out, not only is Michael Wilson back in our fantasy lineups,
but Greg Dorch is a player that should be rostered.
Dorch had two top 15 performances in weeks 12 and weeks 11.
Jacoby Brissette, again, is elevating the talent around him.
So keep an eye on that one.
And Pat Bryant, who we talked about last week at length,
seven targets coming out of Denver's by week,
three receptions, but seven targets.
That's a positive sign for him.
Let's take one more break.
We come back.
We're talking about running backs and tight ends that you should be adding,
not only for week 14, but for the fantasy playoffs as well, right after this.
All right, guys, let's get right into it.
Joe, let's talk about Malik Davis,
who continues to flash and make big plays for this Dallas team
that has now beaten the Super Bowl runners up
and the Super Bowl winner in back-to-back weeks.
Malik Davis seems like a premium handcuff.
If he's not already rostered in your league,
he's an injury away from being part of a really good Dallas offense.
Yeah, it's a handcuff, though.
Four carries, three carries, three carries.
Now he's busted off a long run in back-to-back games,
but Javante Williams still continues to get it done.
He is a handcuff.
There are other guys that we have talked about on this show
who you can pick up and put in your lineup.
I guess if you do that with Davis,
you're just hoping he busts off a long run.
but he is the handcuff for Javante Williams, who, as you well know, has had significant injury problems in his career.
So he's busted off the long runs, look good, giving them a spark, but only 10 carries over the last three games is not somebody I'd be trusting in a lineup right now.
Yeah, I think you nailed it. I think you completely nailed it.
Again, if you're a Javante Williams manager, I think it's important to roster Malik Davis, you maybe could get one week out of it if he goes down with some sort of an injury.
and if you're not a Javante Williams manager,
understand that you're holding a lottery ticket in Davis
that you can't use in any other week.
Another sort of high-end handcuff for an offense
that we have a great deal of confidence in moving forward
is Samajai P-Rine.
His role is a little bit larger, though.
He's going to get some weekly touches here.
Tom, talk about P-Rine behind Chase Brown.
Yeah, this is a guy pretty boring.
I mean, nobody thinks of Somagy P-Rine's like,
oh, yeah, I'm going to crush it in fantasy
if I have him.
But I don't think Taj Brooks is going to be much of a factor down the stretch here.
They clearly have a lot of trust in Samaja Kiran.
He's been out the last couple of weeks, gets healthy.
He's immediately back into the lineup, taking snaps away from Chase Brown in that Thanksgiving
day game.
He ended up playing 41% of the snaps off a high ankle injury.
So they clearly have a lot of trust in him.
If Chase Brown goes down at any point, I think he could be one of these types of
of backs that gets 85% of the snaps in a given week, especially if it's a scenario where
the Bengals are trying to win and stay in playoff contention. I don't think they're going to
trust Attage Brooks behind him. So he's a sneaky guy that's probably readily available. He's
going to catch some passes. That's not going to be too flashy, but if they get right on top of
the goal line, they have some confidence that he can punch it in at the goal line. So I think he's
one of the more valuable handcuffs that it's out there, especially now that Joe Burrow is back.
And if you're really desperate, you can even plug him into a lineup in a flex spot.
If you're in like a 14 team or a 16 team league or just dying for like six or seven points in a given week.
But I do think he has some higher end upside as one of the better handcuffs out there.
Yeah, the past catching ability makes it so if he did have the backfield to himself for a week,
P. Ryan could end up giving you a low-end RB1 game, a high-end RB2 type game.
So again, with these handcuffed running backs, we're looking at what player can affect
a fantasy matchup on a one-game sample size.
Let's remember, everyone, waiver wire, we're doing this two months ago, guys.
We're talking about what player could potentially help you for the season.
Now fantasy football is very much a weekly game.
For a lot of you watching this, you need to win this week.
Some of you watching this, you need a win this week to get your buy.
And then for others out there, you're in a situation where it's, for a lot of you,
single elimination football.
So we want these players that are high upside handcuffs on our benches, one injury away.
Unlike wide receiver, we don't usually have to unpack anything.
We just put them in the lineup.
And Joe Dolan, a player that, I mean, I shouldn't even talk about him anymore on pods
because I'm always in this hive.
I'm always wanted to roster this guy. Keaton Mitchell scores a touchdown on Thanksgiving Day, also catches a couple of passes. Talk about one injury away here. The big dog is producing at a very high level. But if Derek Henry were to miss a game, how good could Keaton Mitchell be on a one week, two week sample size?
Well, this offense in general is hard to watch. So unfortunately, it doesn't have the same upside that it had, like even last year. But Keaton Mitchell, hey, look, he was in my second running back spot.
on my Thanksgiving Day DFS lineup, you know,
him and thanks to him and Don Tavion Wix for paying for the turkey.
So, but Keith Mitchell, yeah, handcuffed really at best at this point.
I guess you could throw them into a lineup if you're really desperate.
A couple of weeks ago against Cleveland,
he had six carries and two catches,
but you probably need a touchdown for him to come through.
I would, God, I can't believe I'm saying this,
but I think I prefer Malik Davis just because I think that that offense is
working at a much higher level than Baltimore's right now.
But Keaton Mitchell is somebody who might earn just a couple more touches going forward
to give that offense a little bit of a spark that it's lacked for much of the year.
Tom, we had a chance to see the Washington Commander's backfield post-by week.
Sort of what we thought it would be.
Chris Rodriguez leads away with 11 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Jeremy McNichols still mixing in, six carries, 30 yards.
He also has two targets and two recepts.
descriptions. Jacori Kroski Merritt, pretty invisible, four carries total. Do you want a roster
Chris Rodriguez? Do you think this is at least like a static situation where Rodriguez is going to
get this sort of production? You really can't use any of these guys right now. I'd almost
roster, rather roster some of these handcuffs than sort of the dead roster spot commanders
running back. Are you kind of there? Yeah, I'm in the same boat with you. Unless I, like, have nothing
for an RB2 at this point, and you need maybe eight to 12 points.
I think that's kind of Rodriguez is kind of his, you know, floor and ceiling at this point.
He has scored some touchdowns, but we're still seeing Jeremy McNichols heavily involved.
Bills taking a couple carries a week away from him.
They've definitely elevated him, but he's not going to do anything in the passing game.
This is a team.
They were competitive last night against the Broncos, so you're going to have to need that moving forward
for him not to get game scripted out.
They've been losing a lot of games this season,
and that kind of erases him a little bit.
So if I'm at this stage in the game,
I'd rather have probably a handcuff,
if I could, one of these elite handcuffs,
especially if I have no intentions of playing Rodriguez.
If you need like an RB2 out of desperation,
he's probably better for that.
But if I'm pretty set at running back,
if I have three running backs,
I'm pretty confident with at this point,
I would probably go for a high.
higher end handcuffs. Yeah, depth matters a lot less than it did, or a couple, even a couple weeks
ago where we want these plug-in-play guys. Joe, we saw multiple weeks of the season where
Jordan Mason was producing at a high level. He had a 23-point game, had like a 13-point game,
nothing fantastic. It was really like giving us sort of very low-end RB2 production. Now we have a chance
that it could be Jordan Mason for the rest of the season.
Aaron Jones had come back, now dealing with a shoulder injury,
might end up needing surgery on it.
Your thoughts on Mason, Mason had six carries for 47 yards yesterday against Seattle.
Also, Codda Pass.
This offense is just horrific.
The Max Brasmer is going to be better than J.J. McCarthy take.
That looks kind of laughable.
They're both struggling, but Brasmer is pretty awful.
your enthusiasm level for Jordan Mason
if he does end up getting the backfield
kind of to himself he was also banged up
yesterday a little bit but it looks like he's going to be good to go
yeah I would think Jordan Mason is on the RB2 radar
it's just unfortunate that this offense does not have
anywhere near the floor or the ceiling we thought it would be
because the quarterbacks have struggled and look
Justin Jefferson thrown his helmet
he's sick of it yeah he's a RB2
and I think they'll get him some work I know they worked
in Xavier Scott a little bit
when Aaron Jones was was was banged up but uh yeah I think Jordan Mason if he was dropped he's
probably still rostered in most leagues just because he was still a super high end handcuff but uh no
he's on the RB2 radar it's just unfortunate that um the quarterback play here is going to
mean he can get game scripted out of games and that that's going to give him a lower floor than you
would hope Tom let's talk about the tight end position Isaiah likely really big performance on
Thanksgiving and Cincinnati five catching
for 95 yards, could have had a touchdown.
This was a nice thing to see if you're an Isaiah likely manager that's been rostering him.
But is this as sort of a one week, like one off on the radar?
Or is there potential that likely can be used over the next four weeks?
I think there's some potential to use them, especially if you're playing in a deeper leg
and the tight ends are not too appealing towards the back end.
We do have a really good schedule here.
They got the Steelers coming up here.
Cincinnati again. We love that matchup for tight ends. And then New England, who's been a little bit of a tight end sieve as well. So three really good matchups for tight ends. And he actually gave this offense a little bit of a light. It's been a pretty stagnant passing game. So maybe they try to figure out some ways to get him the ball and, you know, create more opportunities for him in the next couple of weeks since he actually did something in this passing game on Thanksgiving Day. So if you're really desperate or he's another one of these.
guys that can go off for a big week or he's going to, you know, give you a goose egg a lot of weeks
as well. But if you need a lot of variance in the final weeks of the season, if you need somebody
that can get you up 15, 16 points and you don't really care if it gets you like one catch
for 15 yards, then likely might be your guy off the waiver wire. I agree with you. I think
Isaiah likely is just very, very talented. And if you're throwing a dart at the board looking for a
player you can plug in, likely has the talent to give you a 20 point week. I also could end up
giving you three points that week. But I like having guys like that. If I want impactful players
on my bench in the fantasy playoffs, even if it means a chance I'm going to lose, I want to swing
for the fences. A lot of times in these fantasy playoffs, you've got to put up a big number in order to
win. Joe, we saw Evan Ingram last night with nine targets, six catches for 79 yards. Is this something
where it could be a late-season turnaround for Engram.
It's been a very, very disappointing year.
This is only the second game of the season for Ingram
where he's had double-digit PPR points.
But again, a season high in yardage,
a season high in receptions,
a season high in targets,
and this is with Denver coming out of their by week.
5-59.
Yeah, those are the last three games for Evan Ingram.
I would love to sit here and tell you no because it's Sean Payton.
And just like with Troy Franklin, they're going to game playing guys out and they're going to game playing guys in every given week.
But, I mean, a tight end who's got 19 targets in his last three games is always somebody who's going to be viable for a fantasy football perspective.
But he doesn't score touchdowns, you know.
So down at the goal line, they like to run the ball.
Corton Sutton gets in the end zone.
So you need that high target volume from Everton Ingram.
He is a low end starter for me.
that that's about it and a streaming option.
Yeah, you don't feel great about starting him,
but again, that nine targets and then back to back weeks with five,
it's getting to be a little bit better.
And Denver's a team that's playing for a lot,
maybe leaning into the veteran Engram a little bit down the stretch here.
They feel good about it coming out of the buy week.
So make sure he's rostered.
Tom, last week, and same question for you, Joe, after Tom here.
Last week we said, which tight end would you rather roster?
Brenton Strange or Darren Waller.
We talked about Darren Waller because of the upside.
Waller came back yesterday, three targets, two catches for 47 yards, but again, looks
healthy.
Those numbers could ramp up.
And Miami was completely in control of this one.
New Orleans scored some points late to make it even a closer game.
And then Brenton Strange, another big week for him, bottom line scoring.
Last week we saw him put up a solid, solid number, had 14.
points. I had five
catches for 93 yards.
This week against Tennessee, another
game where Jacksonville was just rolling
here, but three catches for 45
yards and a touchdown.
Are you ready to sort of change the answer here?
Are you on Strange over Waller?
Or are you still on the, I'd rather have that
upside for Waller in the playoffs?
Yeah, I'm going to flip here. I was
on Waller last week. I think
the upside might be on
Strange now and the more
consistent floor. And a lot of
it has to do with Parker Washington picking up a hip injury this past week.
That was my kind of my bigger concern about the Jaguars.
They're going to have Jacoby Myers, Brian Thomas came back to the line of.
Parker Washington and Brenton Strange, all kind of fighting for targets from Trevor Lawrence,
who we know is very inconsistent.
So that's why I preferred Darewall a little bit more last week.
But I'm going to switch it here.
Parker Washington's going to miss a couple of games or miss a little bit of time here.
And he's been kind of Trevor Lawrence's most consistent target in the middle of the field while Strange was out.
So if we're going to take him out of the middle of the field, I think we might get an extra target or two towards Brenton Strange every week.
And the guy just produces every week dating back to the beginning of the season.
So I'm flipping.
I'm going with Brent and Strange the rest of the way.
I am on Breton Strange.
How about you, Joe?
Can you Dufus is out there?
Please go pick up Brent and Strange so we can stop talking about him on this podcast.
It's crazy.
I'm tired of talking about the guy.
Go get him.
Absolutely.
We were talking about Brenton Strange guy.
And it's been a big shout out to both of you guys.
This show's been so much fun to record every single week.
We've reached the end of the line for the regular season, but we're not going anywhere.
We'll be dropping week one of the fantasy playoff players to add next week.
We'll be doing it throughout the end, guys.
