Let's dive right in.
Scott's week two starts sit.
This is a fun show.
We're doing quarterbacks and running backs.
I feel like you're kind of the running back whisperer.
So I can't wait to talk to you about running backs.
But how are you today, man?
I'm doing good.
Happy to be here.
Excited to talk ball with one of my best friends.
Oh, I like that. Okay. Okay. Maybe not Oscar the Grouch today. We're not getting grumpy scout.
I thought it was Grover. Well, you're both. I told you're a, you're a litany assessment.
They're over the Grouch. Sometimes when you act like a battered dog, I'll call you Elmo. We haven't had to do that yet, but we will get there at some point. So.
Is Elmo a dog? No, but like, you know, he's very soft and quiet and tickly and laughy and whatever.
You know. Yeah. Grover is more the look. You got the look of Grover. And, and, and,
your voice. You know, it's a little groverish. But anyways, we're out. We're way off track already.
So let's dive into quarterbacks. When we're doing starts it, how much, like a question for you,
how much are you weighing what you just saw in week one versus what we know from last year? Like,
week one's too small of a sample, right, to make big sweeping reactions. But you kind of have to
work in some 2025 data. Ultimately, though, it feels almost a little vibey. Anyway, how we're, how, we're
How do you weigh all that together?
Yeah, for me, I'd say it's like 65% my priors, my pre-draft rankings and analysis.
It's like 25% week one and I don't know, 10%, 10% vibes.
I don't know what the other 10% is, but something like that.
We're a math company here at Fantasy Points Data.
Yeah.
All right, let's dive into start quarterbacks.
Quarterbacks, we are starting.
Right off the top, Brock Purdy, we're projecting as QB2.
So that's one thing we can confidently say is if you're ever in doubt,
just head over to FanisPoints.com and check out the industry leading projections.
Our guy Chris Wecht is always killing it.
Had a really good week one, room to grow, but really solid week one.
And we were the best in the industry last year.
We're going to repeat that every single starts episode we do.
But Brock Purdy, we're projecting me as QB2.
He has the dream matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
I don't know how much analysis we need.
Brock Purdy's good.
Miami sucks.
Play Brock Bertie.
Yeah, I mean, it's one thing to say Brock Purdy is a start.
What we're saying is he is going to go nuclear this week.
He's only Josh Allen is going to outscore him.
Like if you run this out a thousand times this week two of the 2026 season,
Brock Purdy should outscore every quarterback.
But Josh Allen.
And yeah, I certainly see that.
being the case. Like for one thing, Brock Purdy's, you know, always been super underrated. He's like
basically like the mascot of fantasy points data. He averaged 32 fantasy points per game in the
fantasy playoffs last year. He just dropped 22.1 on what's supposed to be an elite defense.
And you see it on the screen. The dude is just like, dude, every quarterback stat is a Brock
pretty stat he leads all quarterbacks in EPA per dropback since the start of 2024 he ranks
top three in just about everything the one stat where he in maybe not the best is turnover worthy
throw rate um you know he does throw some like boneheaded picks every now and then but everything else
including the fantasy stuff like people lose sight of just how efficient he is from a fantasy perspective
second in fantasy points per dropback third in fantasy points per opportunity which includes quarterback runs like
Kind of crazy that at least one of Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson ranks behind him.
And then, you know, of course, he's up against a JV defense in the Miami Dolphins.
What we're saying is probably the worst defense in football, maybe one of the worst defenses
of the past decade.
49ers we see have a 30-point implied point total this week.
And Brett, I dug into it.
I dug into the advanced stats, courtesy of fantasy points data.
they played base defense 66% of the time.
No one else was above 50%.
What does that mean?
That's like lighter coverage for your quarterback to throw all over.
And then worse yet,
they pressured their opposing quarterback
on just 6.5% of dropbacks.
No other defense was under 20% in week one.
So awful pass rush, you know, fewer DBs on the field.
And it's just the talent is just awful.
And we just saw, yeah, the 49ers explode up against what everyone thought was going to be
maybe the best or second best defense in the league this year.
Well, the Rams still might be.
They were jet lagged and they were down Miles Garrett.
I think, you know, calm down on that.
But you stole most of my talking points here.
I was going to talk about the pressure rate.
Purdy should reasonably have all day.
They're starting a cornerback named Jason Marshall,
who I didn't even know who he was until I researched him for shows this week.
And I'm pretty into the weeds.
base defense thing is a great call. The only thing I think that could change that is they just put
Kyle Lewis on injured reserve today. Kyle Lewis is a rookie, you know, Will linebacker who's like
kind of a coverage demon. He was a converted safety. I do wonder if, you know, the absence of him
will eventually lead them into a little bit more nickel because he, like I thought, you know,
you can get away with some more base if you got linebackers that can do really high end coverage
type of stuff. Either way, you know, who knows when that transition happens. But, you know,
they're rolling out Jordan Brooks. And they're green dot this year is a rookie in Jacob Rodriguez.
And I love Jacob Rodriguez as a prospect, but like, I think they're going to keep the defense
kind of vanilla. This wasn't what we saw Jeff Hathley doing in Green Bay, where it was so much exotic
coverages, so much inverted stuff, disguise stuff. It's a little bit more vanilla. And I think some
of that is just they have a rookie green dot who's calling the plays in there. So,
definitely, you know, he should shred this.
I think Mike Evans, well, we're not doing receivers,
but Mike Evans is also going to be a big beneficiary of this matchup.
All right, next, you good?
Yeah.
So I'm giving room.
We're having a conversation.
I don't want to make this Scott point, Brett point, Scott,
but no one wants to hear that.
They want to hear a conversation, Scott.
Yeah, I mean, listen, this one's easy, all right?
Yeah.
All right.
All right.
Next one, Jalen Hertz versus the Tennessee Titans defense.
We're projecting them QB3, 20.3 fantasy points.
This is another one where it's like, we're just taking, we're just picking on the bad defenses.
The Tennessee Titans were bottom three in pressure rate.
They looked awful.
They couldn't cover anything.
All of these in-breakers that we, you know, the jets were running last week, the runaways, they just literally couldn't cover it.
The time to pressure was too late.
It's like 2.9 second time to pressure.
Alante Taylor and Cordell Fla just got pieced up.
And I think you're going to see a lot more of that.
Dantavian Wicks, Mackay Lemon, Dallas Goddard.
Devante Smith, they should all have, you know, pretty big games here.
So yeah, listen, we don't we're not generally typically going to be going with like the most
obvious names, the superstars. It's like, yeah, I drafted Jalen Hertz top five. Of course, he's top five
this week. We're going to try and, you know, stick with the more borderline ones to really help you
with your teams. But, you know, sometimes I want to single out a player to have like a broader discussion,
I think is interesting.
And I want to do that with Jalen Hertz here.
Yeah, he's our QB3 on the week based on our projections.
You know, with some of these quarterbacks, you sometimes worry about how bad the opposing
offense is and whether or not they can actually push the opposing quarterback to lean pass-heavy.
That's actually like almost never the case with Jalen Hertz.
Like honestly, to me, this just seems like a prime Jalen Hertz four or five touchdown game
with two of those coming on the ground.
There are seven point favorites up against a dead Titans team.
I think they're going to live inside the red zone, have amazing starting field position.
And yeah, Jalen Hertz has those two rushing touchdowns weeks, which really put them over the top.
But the broader discussion point I wanted to bring up that I thought was really interesting was he had 48 rushing yards last week.
That was the second most by any quarterback.
It was his most in nearly a year.
And I was really encouraged to see that because, you know, last year.
year it was his worst year by far and i really had everything to do of like the lack of rushing
fantasy points per game um and jimmy kemsky one of their best beat writers said that was intentional
that was jelan hertz asking the coaching staff to remove all the design qb runs from the game
plan last year and i i was kind of arguing i feel like he has no choice this year
um because he's on the hot seat and you know he's not a kurt warner
That's really his cheat code is his hyper mobility.
So I was encouraged to see that.
And yeah, Jalen Hertz, top three this week.
Jackson Dart were once again going to spend time talking about the New York Giants,
projecting him as QB4 versus the Rams defense.
Now I think maybe preseason this matchup scares you a little bit.
But then you see how the Giants performed in a really good spot against the Dallas Cowboys.
and then the Rams conversely were very bad and on national TV.
So what are you seen here with Dart?
Yeah, dude, Jackson Dart, always and forever.
I love the guy.
I think he's a wicked talent who runs and his fantasy cheat code.
I was really encouraged by everything I saw in week one.
The Rams, you know, on paper and elite defense,
but Miles Garrett's out, Aaron Donald, we don't know if he's going to play.
And even if he is, it's been years since he last played a game of football.
And Jackson Dart finished as Fantasy's QB4 last week, 26.6 fantasy points.
He averages 24.7 fantasy points per game and career starts, minus that one game against the Vikings,
that's better than Josh Allen, that leads all quarterbacks.
But maybe best of all, he had six design runs, excluding kneel downs.
That was at least twice as much as any other quarterback besides Josh Allen.
he finished the week first in EPA per play.
This is one of my guys.
I love him.
He's fun, man.
He's exciting.
He's a great guy to have in your team.
So Jackson Dart,
I would start him top five,
even though, you know,
the Rams were certainly a fantasy defense
that got drafted pretty early in your leagues this year.
Going right down the list,
Dak Prescott versus the Washington commanders.
We're projecting him as QB5,
just under 20 points.
game. I like this one a lot. I think Dax can have a massive bounceback week. We have Dan
Quinn who has been, you know, really throughout his career, he's been like a cover three kind of
merchant. That's, that's his staple coverage. He ran that at like 18% in week one, but it was still
a ton of cover two. I think, you know, his identity is he wants to be in that cover three,
you know, shell. Dak Prescott is one of three quarterbacks that just routinely shreds
cover three. It's Jared Goff. It's Jordan Love. It's Dak Prescott.
So I think schematically it's a great matchup,
but then you get into the fact that Washington's starting two,
five foot three corners,
and Mike Sandrstill and Amique Robertson,
I think that's also advantage,
Dak Prescott.
So I'm pretty bullish.
Advantage George Pickin, certainly.
Yeah, we're not doing wide receivers.
I'm going to try to keep their stop talking about them.
But yeah, huge advantage for the Cowboys offense.
And the Washington defense is like,
I just never really know what they're doing.
doing with their offseason acquisitions.
It doesn't seem like they have really prioritized a clean roster build here.
It's been every year I'm just kind of puzzled by what they do.
Yeah, well, listen, Prescott was our favorite to lead the league in passing yards this year.
It wasn't a great week one.
He did kind of get a little unlucky let down by George Pickens, uncharacteristically dropped two
deep balls.
He already has more air yards lost due to drops this year than he has.
all of last year. You know, if he caught those like he typically does, that might be an extra
90 passing yards and two touchdowns. And then the other thing is like, I think Dan Quinn kind of
sucks, you know? Yeah. Bottom five in fantasy points for dropback in week one, bottom five in
fantasy points per dropback allowed last year as well. So this is kind of, Dan Quinn has been a
great matchup for quarterbacks for a while. So certainly week two, Doc Prescott, top five
quarterback. And we like the other side of this game too with jaden Daniels coming back he's uh projecting
his QB6 what is the implied point total in this game Scott do you know um yeah I could pull it up
I just think that's important and you know we want so it's the second highest over under on the week
only buffalo in Detroit is higher and then Dallas by implied point total is top five washing
a little above average.
Nice.
Yeah, I mean, obviously Jaden's got the Konami code factor, right?
He's going to run.
He's going to make stuff happen with his legs.
It didn't look pretty last week, though.
They kind of got blanked a little bit.
Terry McLaren completely taken out of that game against the Eagles.
Obviously, Antonio Williams is very productive
and 11 routes run or whatever.
Steph Diggs had a decent game,
but you're not too worried about this offense?
Well, he goes from an extreme.
extremely difficult matchup to a great one.
And it's a player we were high on coming into the season.
A stat I had was he averaged 23.7 fantasy points per game in healthy games over his first two years.
That would have ranked tied with Josh Allen.
And then this is just like one of the best matchups there is.
They've given up, the Cowboys have given up 24 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks
since the start of last season.
That's 3.3 more than any other defense.
If you schedule adjusted, it's like twice as bad as any other defense.
So yeah, this just looks like a great get right spot to me.

Moblad. New season is now streaming on Paramount Plus.
Our last start for quarterbacks is Caleb Williams versus the Vikings.
You're playing with fire here.
Our king, our one true king, I will never doubt him again.
Brett Caleb Williams, the goat, Matt and Coverboy.
He was the overall QB1 last week.
He had a career high, 10 rushing attempts, 37 fantasy points.
And that's a thing people are sleeping on.
There's a little Konomico juice to Caleb Williams.
he's hit 20 miles an hour on seven different runs since the start of last season.
No other quarterback comes close to that.
The Vikings, are they a difficult matchup?
Are they a brutal matchup?
You hear me exclude them every time I talk about Jackson Darts, fantasy points per game,
or does it not matter because Caleb Williams is him?
This obviously rage bait.
But Caleb and his two outings against the Vikings last year was relatively unproductive.
I think he averaged either just under 200 passing yards or just over 200 passing yards.
I forget which it is.
I'm not looking at the number right the second.
You know, this Vikings defense is tough.
It's insanely tough.
And it's really hard on guys who are a little bit slow to process.
And that's Caleb Williams, where he does want to put the hero cape on and extend every play.
They're going to line up and give you just a litany of disguises and sim pressure packages.
and in-your-face pressure packages with the mugged-up A-Gap type stuff.
So I don't know.
I'm not saying he's a sit by any means.
I think he's probably fine.
But I'm just a little cautious.
What is the over-under in this game actually?
Because I'm looking at this bear's defense.
Like, well, the Vikings might score points against them,
which would in turn mean that the bears have to score points back.
And Ben Johnson's a psycho.
It does kind of, you know what, it does kind of feel like you have to start Caleb every week because Ben Johnson.
Did you hear him talking about how he's going to go for two at the end of that game to get to 60?
Oh, yeah.
Dude, this is what I was saying is like there's a real chance that the answer to 2026 drafts was just like, you know, who wins all the championships?
It's just whichever team drafted the most bears because Ben Johnson is him.
Like he had that quote where he was like, he knew exactly how many points per game the 2013 Denver Broncos scored to set the record.
he is dead set on breaking that.
And like that's who he was in Detroit too.
Like he never took his foot off the gas in the fourth quarter, even up three scores.
And so yeah, that's what I was saying about Kayla Williams is like I had all this same skepticism.
You had, although I did note like there was a major improvement rookie to sophomore season in terms of his actual quantifiable play, beyond play calling and supporting cast.
But yeah, this felt like something better than an impossible to fail setup.
it felt like almost an impossible to not be great set up.
And so Chicago 5.5 point favorites in this game against, yeah,
the Carson Wentz led Vikings.
The over under is the third highest on the week.
The bears are sixth an implied point total.
And I think, I think, yeah, the Vikings defense is scary,
but I think offsetting that a little bit is the fact that Carson Wentz is the opposing
quarterback that gives you good odds of turnovers to capitalize on more better odds of making it
to the red zone better starting field position and and yeah so so you know for the folks at home who
like you know hate how often we Brett has criticized Caleb Williams the one good thing here
is we own our else we take our else and Brett made a bet and if Caleb Williams is top
half of the league and catchable throw rate he has to wear a Caleb jersey every day on this show
for a full month and paint his nails pink no no paint his nails pink that was not part of that
it's also not top half the league it's league average and if the bet that's the funny thing i'm
getting roasted people have brought up the bet if the bet ended right now i i would be off the hook
Caleb Williams is not above league average
and catchable ball rate. So
thank you. Anyways.
Let's get to the sits, Trey.
And Scott here. Justin Herbert
versus the Raiders.
Scott, you must be scared.
It's the Raiders. You got Justin Herbert
on the sit list. What's going on?
Yeah, I mean, that's a good question.
I pulled up Chris's projections
and he has Justin Herbert
QB 15 on the week. And I wonder
how much of that is the uncertainty
regarding Ladd-McConkey playing because this just looked like a totally non-viable,
non-functional offense without him.
With Ladd-McConkey on the field, Justin Herbert was averaging 10.3 adjusted net yards
per attempt without him that dropped all the way to 1.1.
Herberts.
Are you Warren Sharping me right now?
How so.
Tiny sample size?
Easy, bro.
Easy.
But, yeah, fair point.
Um, his, his 14.3 fantasy points was his worst game with Joe Alt since like,
week 14 of 2024. Um, and so yeah, and like the Raiders defense kind of looks sneaky good
last week or maybe the Miami Dolphins were just that bad. Um, but I, I saw this with,
with Chris's projection. And at first I wanted to argue against it. And then I kind of like saw,
like sat there and thought about it. I looked at the 14 quarterbacks above him. And I said,
you know what? I think that's fair. You know what's nuts? I went back and watched every dropback
for them just to kind of get a feel for the offense again. It's like the sixth, seventh time I've watched
every snap, but like just really honing in on the past concepts. It's correct. Ladd and QJ both were
open on every single dropback. Oh, wow. I mean, it is great. Like Herbert just really truly
played bad in that game. So I kind of came away with a smidge more confidence. I'm like,
if Herbert can just play like 5% better, I think both guys would have had monster games. He missed
QJ running wide open across the middle of the field two or three times. Like if he catches it,
it's a six feet yard touchdown. He didn't see him or he threw it and it was inaccurate. Didn't see him.
Just was locked on somewhere else. He's part of the primary, but just, you know, was kind of
playing it a little slow and I don't know. Yeah, well, the other thing here is we know Mike McDaniel
likes to go run heavy, slower pace, especially with the lead. And so they're what, like seven point
favorites against the Raiders here. So that's part of it. By the way, the Chargers,
running game. They had the worst
yards before contact for
attempt in week one. That probably improves.
Shocked. Yeah.
No, it probably won't have proved.
Yeah. That interior...
Well, no, it's that interior O'lines
is ghastly bad.
I mean, they're literally rotating
left guard spot, Keote,
Arasika, and
Trey Pipkins, who's a tackle.
It's, bro, it's
not a good situation. Well, that's what Tom
Brady always said is, like, interior
pressure is his Achilles heel, but every quarterback's Achilles heel.
Except for Caleb Williams, apparently.
The goat. Shout out.
For real, you isolate his passing stats with interior pressure versus with like outside pressure.
It's crazy.
You don't want to pressure him from the middle.
Why?
Because he bills, he gets out of the pocket.
You like, you want to keep Caleb in the pocket.
That's why the lines fed so much success against him.
It's because they don't rush him.
They just like collapse the pocket around.
him and don't let him escape and that's that's they're four and oh against
Caleb and it's largely because of that they just box them in teams for some
reason haven't caught on to that but well that's why they got to listen to our
fantasy starts sit episode on yeah the fantasy points YouTube channel heck yeah
brother actually actually there's there's a there's a DC in the league I
should I should text that information to when you play the bears and maybe
we'll we'll bet on them too and make some good money sounds good
insider trading for the win.
Hell yeah.
All right.
That said,
Justin Herbert being a sit
this week makes total sense,
even though I'm a little more optimistic
than I was a day or two ago.
I get it.
I get it for sure.
Trevor Lawrence versus Denver.
Obvious sit,
I feel like Denver's defense.
I don't know that it's obvious, Brett.
Oh, come on.
Why?
You think it's an obvious set?
Well, it's obvious in that you don't want
to tempt fate
with one of the best past defenses
in the last five years.
I mean,
awashed Patrick Mahone.
had success against the no he missed the deep well the defense missed like 25 tackles that was not an
encouraging defense in the run game right right that probably translates you know you hit
park of washington with a few screens you can't bring him down i'm sorry is trevor lawrence
kenneth walker all right here here's here's here's why he so he's q b 19 in our projections
but she seems very low it's harsh super harsh i think part of this is vagus
is still putting a ton of respect on Denver's defense, which Brett says rightfully so.
On the past game side for sure, absolutely.
But they're also disrespecting the Jaguars.
So the Jaguars only have a 21 point implied point total.
That's 33% less than their 2025 average, more than any other team.
But this is a big argument I was making all offseason was like, IKB, I know ball, Vegas doesn't.
They were way too low on the Jaguars.
They had Jackwars as a middle of the pack team by projected points per game.
Chris and I were both like, no, they should be top six for sure.
And so I think it's a little bit of that.
And you look at what Trevor Lawrence did last week, top six in fantasy points,
26 fantasy points despite only throwing the ball five times in the second half,
sitting the entire fourth quarter,
he led all quarterbacks and fantasy points per dropback and EPA per dropback.
Over his last five games, 29.8 fantasy points per game,
0.75 fantasy points per dropback.
This is like above and beyond in 2019 Lamar Jackson levels.
It's 11.5 fantasy points per game more than Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson over the same stretch.
And I also think part of this too is like how greedy Liam Cohen quarterbacks are inside the red zone.
And Bo Nix looked awful.
This offense looked incompetent by every measure, yards per play, EPA per play, success.
rate at points per drive. This was the worst offense in football. It was worse than the Cooper
Rush led Falcons. It was worse than the Carson Wentz led Vikings. And so if there are anywhere
near as bad again, I could see Trevor Lawrence capitalizing like he did it up against the Browns
where it's like, yeah, I'm in the red zone a lot because their offense sucks. But can, yeah,
I'm just, can I just say like my biggest week one takeaway was just that Liam Cohen
might be the guy.
Hell, yeah.
Hell, yeah.
That was the most cohesive looking offense in the league by a lot.
Wow.
What does that mean cohesive?
Just the way they're marrying concepts together,
the way they're giving you window dressing,
they're showing you this to then later show you that.
The past concepts all work together with the run game,
the under center run game.
It just, everything was beautiful.
The motion, the shifting, the personnel usage, the, you know,
the jab, jab cross with a counter hook.
Like, he had an answer for freaking everything.
I mean, it was truly just beautiful.
It was, I mean, it was a legit clinic.
And the Brown's defense is good.
And he just absolutely murdered that.
Yes, it is.
The Browns defense is very.
Jim Schwartz list.
They have Jared versus like an ascending superstar at Edge.
He's not like nobody.
They've got a-
player.
Right.
They've got great backers.
They got great interior guys.
then Denzel Ward's a what do you talk bro they have they're loaded with talent across the whole defense
one of the best Mike backers in the game and in Carson Swessinger they have Mason Graham in the middle
they've got safety depth they've got three or four safeties that can play like they're they're legit good
defense yeah listen not my wheelhouse certainly brett's we so why are you challenging me I'm trying
to educate myself and the listeners okay anyways um yes I'm
Liam Cohen is a monster, and I think, you know, I think I'm even more bullish on the Jags offense than I was just because this is, it's just pretty.
And you go back to the last year, it kind of was the same thing.
Took him a minute to get going, but once it did, it was popping.
So I got to put you on the spot.
So you listed Trevor Lawrence as a sit here on the show sheet, on the graphic, on the very show we're talking.
He's listed as a sit.
Yeah, you're saying, I don't know, let's pump the break.
So let me put you on the spot here.
I'm going through our projections.
Baker Mayfield or Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor.
C.J. Stroud or Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor.
Jordan Love or Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor.
Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor.
Jared Gough or Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor.
Really?
Jared Gaw?
You know what?
You know what?
No.
No, you're right.
Jared Gough.
So the last time the Lions played the bills, they scored 90 points together.
I know.
And they have like a 90 point over under this week.
That's a road game for Jared Gough too, right?
Yeah, but it's nice weather.
He's a dome merchant.
Okay.
Lawrence or Stafford?
Lawrence.
Lawrence or Drake May?
May.
Lawrence or Joe Burrow?
Burrow.
Lawrence or Mahomes?
I think Lawrence.
Okay.
So you have them as a QB1 this week then.
You think he's a QB1?
Start him.
Okay.
So for the folks at home who don't know,
so these are,
basically our rough draft projections we have this big projections meeting on friday fridays where
ryan heath argues his case for players i argue my case for players brett talks about what he
sees on film and so our projections saturday morning are elite they're excellent um they're just
now they're like 80 90 percent of the way there there's really not a ton i disagree with but yeah you
know i'm keeping up for trevor lawrence parker washington all my jaguars players this
week. So that's one of them. Even beyond that, I like to describe it like this. So like projections are
medium outcomes, right? Chris is projecting medium outcomes. For me to go against the grain and go
against Chris, it really just comes down to how convicted I am a player hits their ceiling outcome
that week. So you're basically what you're telling me right here live on air is Trevor Lawrence.
You're pretty convicted. His sealing outcome is more likely than the median outcome. And I think that's
perfectly fair. I'm just, I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to make you go against Chris's projections.
I'm just simply trying to see where you're at.
You have, you for sure have Trevor Lawrence as an actual top 12 guy, which definitely makes him a start.
So, yeah.

Anyways, Malik Willis versus the 49ers is a sit.
QB20 in projections, 16.9 fantasy points.
I got to say, I know we're upset about last week and the 49ers looked like a wagon.
The rushing upside alone could get them to 16.9 points, Scott.
So I'm a little, I'm kind of like you with Lawrence.
I don't know.
I don't know if this is a true sit to me.
Yeah.
So it is a sit for me.
But to play devil's advocate here, it almost couldn't have gotten any worse in week one.
15 completion, five sacks, 39 rushing yards, only one design run that is unforgivable.
The ranked, the, the, the dolphins ranked second worse in situation neutral pace of play.
And still, he finished as a free.
fringe QB1, 17.7 fantasy points, QB13 on the week.
And so I just want to say this, like the broader conversation topic,
the Malik Willis fix is really easy.
It's just more design rushing volume.
This is exactly what we saw in 2022 when Justin Fields was my Exodia.
Across the first, I think six weeks of the season,
he averaged just 2.8 design runs per game and only 13.2 fantasy points per game.
but from that point on, it jumped to 7.6 design runs per game,
25.6 fantasy points per game.
Like, that's better than Josh Allen.
So, you know, running is just such a cheat code.
It doesn't matter if your wide receivers suck.
It doesn't matter if your play caller.
All that matters is just like, are you running enough?
And are you a freak athlete like Malik Willis is?
And so to me, I'm sitting him.
But like the whole time I'm hoping that he goes off
and he has like seven design runs.
And then I can start on week three.
The more I looked at the design run thing too,
I kind of realized,
I was critical of it,
but like,
did your source ever text you back by the way?
Yeah,
he did.
I'll get back to that in a second.
But,
you know,
the game script-wise,
so they come out,
they're on script,
right?
You have your first 15 plays.
Some teams is 10,
some teams is 20,
but you got your first 15 plays
already in the hopper.
It's your whole weekly install.
Miami comes out.
They actually score relatively quickly in the game
on script.
everything looks like it's going well.
They hit a big play to Caleb Douglas.
They hit the crosser to Chris Bell.
Everything's looking really nice.
And then you blink twice and all of a sudden they're down by like 15 points.
And I do think GameScript got away.
The design QB runs aren't effective if you're playing from behind, obviously.
You need to preserve clock a little bit.
It's just a different ballgame.
So I do think the plan is to lean into that more.
You know, my source, I did text a coach on staff that's involved in the offense.
He didn't want to say specifics, but it does sound like that's definitely part of the plan.
And one of the reasons they loved acquiring Malik Willis was the dual threat component here.
So I think you'll see more of that this week for sure.
All right.
What do we got?
Let's go.
One more sit here.
We have Tyler Shuck coming off a career high, 410 passing yards against the Detroit Lions versus Baltimore, projecting out as QB21, just 16.8 fantasy points.
What do you think here?
Yeah, I don't know.
Chris is killing Tyler Shuck this week after loving him last week.
So I guess this kind of goes back to like Baltimore's defense looks pretty improved.
A lot of too high coverage, right?
And then it's also sure Tyler Shuck had 400 passing yards last week,
but you also said he kind of sucked and looked awful.
And it was really all just garbage time when, you know, the opposing defense didn't care or whatever, right?
Yeah, he was terrible in the first half, settled in the second half.
They had the added advantage of being down 21, which allows you to be hyper-aggressive.
So they're taking deep shot every other play.
They're also, they play with a ton of pace.
And then you get to go for it on every fourth down, too, because you got to make up the points.
So I think some of the comeback was just a little bit of like, hey, if you give a batter, 10 at bats, he's going to get a hit, right?
I don't want to take anything away from though.
He made some ridiculous throws in the second half of that game.
So that said, Baltimore's defense is nasty.
I think Jesse Minter's got these boys playing just outrageously good.
I think other than Mike McDonald,
he probably is my second favorite defensive play caller in the league.
And so, yeah, I would expect this Ravens' defense to be pretty nasty the whole season.
Just nothing?
Just nothing?
Really?
Yeah, that sounds good to me.
Do you need me to use transitional words after every point I make?
What do you want me?
There's some things, you know, I just, I don't have anything to add.
All right, cool.
That's the sense.
You do have a section you're called Let's Talk About it or let's talk it out.
I'll throw all four of them out.
We can go through them one by one.
Bo Nix, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Drake May.
What are you confused about with these guys?
Like, let's talk Bo Nix versus Jacksonville.
Well, let's talk about the top two.
You know, Bo Nicks is and Pat Mahomes are both top 10 quarterbacks of the week.
And like that kind of surprised me just because Bo Nix looked awful week one.
Patrick Mahomes, you said looked washed week one.
I know he's had the rushing touchdown, but I really don't think that's something we could bank on.
It looked like the offense wants to run through Kenneth Walker in the running game.
Can you say washed for me again?
Washed.
Washed.
Like washed?
You don't know how to say wash.
You say washed and talent.
I say washed
washed
and talent
you say washed
like water
you're washed
and I am talented
yeah
Mahomes looked washed
I don't know what
can we just talk about
Mahomes really quick
quick sidebar
is there any player
in the league
living on more of the past
than Patrick Mahomes
bro I've been saying this
for like three years
it's insane benefit of the doubt
because of his past
I've gotten so much shit for it
but I've been saying this for three years
bro he had zero completions
over 10
air yards last week the only quarterback to i think kyler murray and sam darnald even had that um
or maybe not maybe not kiler but um yeah and it's like he he hasn't been a good accurate
quarterback since tyreek left or or the year after tyreek left he hasn't been accurate um
and so yeah i just completely agree with that yeah i think people over react he had the one scramble
for the touchdown or whatever people like completely lost their minds are like oh he's back he's fine
you know the haters will be silent and then you just watch the rest of the game like oh well shoot
how many passing yards did you have against the broncos this was a fun one how many uh it was under
200 right i'm i'm like authentically asking you sorry oh if that wasn't clear um 184 60 of them came on a catch and run
from Travis Kelsey.
Yeah,
isn't something I think we can bank on.
Right.
It was just ridiculous,
just broken play kind of thing.
And then Bo Nix.
Bo Nix for sure looks busted.
Now,
both his teams...
But he always puts up fantasy points.
I had this graphic where it's like
all quarterbacks from 2024 to 2025.
He was like bottom five in every,
you know,
catchable throw rate completion percentage over expectation.
He was,
he was best.
in the league and pressure to sack and like dropbacks per game so it's all volume but uh yeah i don't
think he's very good yeah i agree uh both these you know quarterbacks have slightly better matchups
jacksville's defense is pretty good but they're not you know kansas city and then conversely
patrick mohomes gets to play the colts they're not even close to what denver is so you know they
could have small bounce backs while still maintaining uh let's talk it out kind of yeah these were both
I felt Chris was a little too high on.
I would much prefer the two quarterbacks he had ranked below in Joe Burrow and Drake May.
Let's talk Joe Burrow.
Yeah, I mean, this is a guy you drafted top six.
He's a notorious slow starter.
Is this like an elite Houston defense you can't beat?
Because I don't know, Josh Allen just had a ton of success against them.
So this is something you could speak to better than me.
That's why I kind of put this all in its own tier.
Well, Buffalo found an exploitable matchup opportunity that I would hope Cincinnati picked up on tape.
And that's that, you know, hey, when we line up in 12 and 13 and 21 personnel,
Houston was coming back with nickel.
They're coming back with nickel coverage.
So what that means is you're going to likely get an undersized player on Dalton Kincaid.
and they just spammed the crap out of that.
Kincaid was beating, you know, Kamari Lasseter and Derek Stingley.
He wasn't beating linebackers and safeties.
They caught them in 12 personnel.
They used motion and shift to get the look they wanted.
And then Kincaid just wins.
And, you know, conversely, the Bengals do have Mike Gisicki at their disposal.
He's not Dalton Kincaid, but he's a very similar type of player.
And we did see a massive uptick in heavy personnel for the Bengals.
They were in heavy personnel like 38, 39 percent of the time last week.
They had traditionally been a pretty heavy 11.
team before that. So maybe we see the same response or they come out in a lot of 12, 13, 21,
and Houston continues to match with nickel and we get some runaway opportunities for Mike
Jaseki. I don't know. Maybe Mike Jaseki leads the Bengals and receiving yards for the second
week in a row. Yeah, I mean, it's actually plausible. It's crazy as it sounds. And I think if you're,
if you're, this isn't a betting show, but if you play props, I'd be very interested in Mike
just like Jusiki props this week.
Maybe some in the latter.
Yeah, for sure.
So where are you at?
You starting him or sitting him?
Well, I just like him more than Bo Nix than Patrick Mahomes.
These are all borderline guys like low-end QB-1s.
And like I said, I like Burrow and May a little bit more than Nix and Mahomes.
Gotcha.
All right, let's move the running back, shall we?
Well, Drake, Drake May, just my commentary on him is, yeah, he sucked last week, but it was against, like, the tough
this defense in the league in the Seattle Seahawks.
I know it's another tough matchup,
perhaps especially if Joey Porter Jr.
comes back and A.J.
Brown's not there,
but still,
this is a guy who,
last regular season only had one bad game
and it was week one.
Do you say Joey Porter Jr.?
Is any on the lines?
Scott's actually Googling this.
Dude, I'm messing with you.
Oh, my God.
There's all kinds of rumors.
The lions are going to trade for Joey Porter Jr.
You haven't seen this?
Yeah.
They freed up like 35 million cap space, blah, blah, blah.
I don't know.
Brett Holmes doesn't do anything like this in season.
So I wouldn't expect it.
But it's just funny.
I thought it didn't realize I'd catch you with your pants on on that one.
Sorry.
Well, you did.
Yeah.
All right.
Hey, running backs.
Let's dive into running backs now.
I know we have the show sheet and you got guys going to talk about.
And the first guy I want to talk about those, not on anything we were planning to talk about today, except for Sits.
I want to jump right to Aaron Jones.
As we're recording this, it comes out that Jordan Mason,
is on the IR now.
Whoa.
Which he's got a broken thumb.
He had surgery on it to fix today.
And we're listening,
Aaron Jones is a sit coming up.
We're going to hit it.
But I just wanted to start right away with this.
It's top of mind.
How does that change the way you feel with Jordan Mason on IR?
Yeah.
Well,
I'm definitely going to like Aaron Jones more than I did 10 minutes ago.
But also, like, you got to add Daman Claybourne, ASAP.
I know this was like a very late day three draft pick,
but a lot of buzz on him in training camp.
I think Aaron Jones comped him to Jemir Gibbs, which is crazy.
40 scouting.
Yeah, it could be a good opportunity for DeBond Playborn
because Aaron Jones kind of looks washed.
But yeah, this was just a really gross 50-50 split backfield
on a Carson Wensled offense.
But yeah, it's now the pie,
the slice of the pie gets a lot bigger for Aaron Jones.
So I don't know, he might be a fringe RB2 now instead of a mid-range RB3.

Now back to our regular scheduled programming.
Let's talk Bijan Robinson.
And when I first saw the show sheet, I legit laughed because I was like, wait a second.
I don't think we need to tell people to start Bejan Robinson.
But as you stated at the top of the show, sometimes we bring up players to have a broader conversation on let's talk Bejan Robinson.
Yeah, well, the broader conversation you wanted to have is you, like a lion superfan and Jemir Gibbs, you know, supporter, things Bijon outscores him this year.
And if you look at the numbers, he had 21 carries. He had nine targets, 173 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. Nearly a 100, 100 day for a player. We were talking about having a 1,000, 1,000 season. He had a 41% target share that was the most by,
any running back and fantasy points data history.
He gets a Panthers defense that just gave up 28 carries 224 rushing yards
and four touchdowns to the Bears.
This is the worst run defense over the last two years or over the last three years.
And so, yeah, do you think Bijan should be the 101?
If you can go back to 10?
Well, I think if there's a week one overreaction to have and how it pertains to start
sit, yeah, I'm now wondering.
Like he had seven design targets.
Bro, if he's going to get seven, eight, nine, ten targets a week,
he's going to out like Jemir Gibbs could still have the best rushing season ever.
Bejohn's going to outscore him in fantasy still.
The only, only thing that might stop that is Jemir could score 24 touchdowns, right?
But the receiving workload is ridiculous.
Cooper Rush had an average depth of target of 4.75, which is pathetic.
The whole offense look pathetic.
And I got news for you guys.
If Tua plays, it's not going to change.
This is what Tua does.
He says short area king for the short king.
Think of Devin A chain, his work in the past game.
It's going to be more of the same.
If Michael Pendix plays, it's going to be more of the same.
So it's like, I don't know if Bejohn's role is like this robust as the lead pass catcher.
I don't know how he doesn't outscore Jemir Gibbs.
Is that crazy?
I mean, I don't know that this usage sticks every single week.
And right, we got to see that way more touchdown upside for Jemir Gibbs.
And it's yeah, dude,
Jamir Gibbs just had like 40 touches in his own right.
So I'm not ready to say that just yet,
but like certainly after this week,
I think that's gonna be a major conversation point
just because of how bad this Panthers run defenses.
Another thing that's really interesting here is Cooper Rush,
uh,
is dealing with the back injury.
He's not 100%.
So there's a real chance we get Jack Strand this week,
which I think is hilarious because I,
I gave you so much grief for mentioning his name on a previous show where I was like,
please, the listeners don't need to know that this person exists.
What are you doing talking about a fourth string quarterback?
And now the guy might start week two.
So, and yeah, this is a guy Brett was a big fan of probably likes him more than Cooper Rush,
honestly.
Oh, way more.
I don't know.
Other than the fact that he's an undrafted rookie, that's why they didn't start in week one
because that never happens.
But like, yeah, I told you on that show, this dude would play this year for the
It might be weak to, might be two. By the way, I'm not fully saying Bijan is the new 101. I'm just, I'm presenting the argument that it could be trending that direction. Okay. You have Bucky Irving as a start versus Cleveland. I have him as a big sit. So this, we're going to have to go to war on this one. I don't think we will actually. This is, you know, just looking at the projection, seeing B.10, that really surprised me. And so you look at his usage last week. It was, it was okay.
62% Snapshare, eight carries, team high seven targets.
He looked a lot like the rookie season, Bucky Irving,
which is like elite hyper-efficiency.
He scored 20.3 fantasy points.
I kind of don't buy into it just because I wasn't that high on him coming into this season.
Sean Tucker, who was the goal line back last year, might, you know,
he sat week one, maybe he comes back week two,
and you're saying the Brown's defense is actually really good.
So you're actually not going to get too much of a fight.
for me, but certainly seems like Chris is extremely confident here, ranking Bucky Irving
RB 10. Yeah, I didn't, I didn't think bucky looked great this week. I didn't think he looked
like anything special. I'm definitely not projecting this rookie, Bucky Irving thing, but also the,
the Brown's defense is just really good. They gave up like a 12-yard run to Bachel Tutin,
and if you take that run out, and I know, I know we can't do that necessarily, but they, they had like
seven or eight tackles for a loss in that game. Like, they were,
living in the Jacksonville Jaguars backfield.
There's just a couple explosives in there that kind of make the yards per carry look decent.
But I was really kind of shocked by the level in which the Browns were able to penetrate and get in the backfield and blow some runs up.
So, you know, I think that's definitely something we got to think about.
And I just don't love Bucky Irving.
I don't think he looks amazing.
Looks fine, but not amazing.
So, Ramandre Stevenson is a start versus Pittsburgh, projecting as RB15, 15.15.15.5 points per game.
You and I both love Ramandre. We think he's the dude. He looked great in week one.
Feels like we're just standing on our priors here.
Yeah, he had great usage last week up against the league's toughest run defense, 85% SnapShare, 18 carries, six targets.
You know, Steelers defense, that's no slouch, but it's a much softer,
matchup than last week. And yeah, we have them RB 15 and that's with us projecting Trayvion
Henderson back, maybe not at his typical 100% role, but we haven't projected playing in
this game and still Rmandrae comes out to be a high-end RB2.
Kyron Williams versus the Giants as a start projecting RB 18, 14.2 fantasy points.
how are you feel about the backfield split let's start there and then tell me about this week's outlook
well i listed him as a sell high because i'm still worried about blake quorum in the second half of
the season but i do think we're going to get another good week out of them Vegas isn't buying into
week one carrying over for either team the rams have the third highest implied point total of the week
seven point favorites against the giants and then you look at the the split you know the split
carries basically dead even. But Corum only played 13 snaps. He ran just two routes.
Williams was on the field for all the six snaps inside the 10 yard line. And so like because he got
all of the high value touches, carries in between the 20s are basically worthless. What matters
are red zone carries and targets and routes run. And so he had 72% of the backfield XFP. It's
about perfectly even with what he did last year.
And if you think Vegas is even close to right,
then he's a must start as a high-end RB2,
mid-range RB2.
Or if you think the Vegas is just irrationally hating on my giants,
unwilling to accept they're a Super Bowl team,
then by all means sit, Kyron Williams,
but that seems unlikely.
Yeah, how'd you feel about the Giants run to you the other night?
Yeah, not great.
Yeah.
Yeah, and it wasn't great at times last year.
They traded away Dexter Lawrence.
I do worry about that a little bit.
And the Rams should be more competitive than Dallas was in that game.
So, O'moryon Hampton versus the Raiders projecting as RB19, 13.5 fantasy points.
I got to say, Scott, I am out on this one.
Yeah, why is that?
I mean, we've done it.
do it for the for the new listeners all right Mike McDaniels scheme it's not great for
amyron hampton and we've talked about this all offseason if you listen to our I believe
it was our recap show I hit it there but the scheme is very outside zone when the corner
style even when it's not outside zone it's a lot of power encounter where it requires some
lateral quickness to be able to change gaps quickly and and make reads and that's just not really
hampton's game he needs to be downhill needs to be in either duo
or inside zone and McDaniel just stubbornly doesn't really use those concepts a ton.
And so I'm just really concerned.
And you saw out of the 12 carries he had, six of them were outside zone.
And then he had three or four more that were power counter type stuff, go win the
corner.
And it just didn't work.
Like it was terrible.
I think he averaged less than a yard per carry on the outside zone touches against
what I would consider not a good run defense at all in Arizona Cardinals.
So yeah, I'm just, I was concerned coming into the season about Hampton, Scott.
and I'm even more concerned now.
I know Chris Wecht is going to say,
well, the role was really good and Keith Mitchell.
I don't think it was good either.
I feel like I was taking crazy pills
listening to my guy, Chris, talk about this today.
Keaton Mitchell ran more routes than Amerihanpton.
The split carries perfectly evenly inside the 10
and the 20 yard lines.
I think Chris is going to contend that that was game script stuff
where it's like they got down.
Yeah, hot hand.
But like that just feeds into your argument
that he's not a good fit for this offense.
What I will say about Omerian Hampton is like,
listen, you drafted this guy in round two, most likely.
And if he doesn't get it done this week,
then we're in trouble.
But he probably gets it done this week.
25 plus point implied total.
They're favored by seven.
Should be, like even if you're pessimistic,
should be a low-end RV2 at worst.
Yeah.
And for the people,
a couple of people have asked,
do I not like Omar and Hampton as a player?
No, I think O'Marendhampton's sick.
I just don't think he works in the scheme.
If you gave him to Sean Peyton or Ben Johnson,
this guy would have 150 rushing yards a game.
Like, I'm pretty convicted in that.
So, all right, let's move on.
Chuba Hubbard versus the Atlanta Falcons projecting his RB 20,
13.2 fantasy points.
I've bought into Chuba after one week.
He looks better.
He had two explosive plays in that game, Scott.
As you notoriously like to note,
he didn't have one all of last seasons.
That's right.
Two explosive plays in one game is good for two, but he just looks good.
The eye test, he was passing the eye test to me.
I thought he looked shifty.
The burst looked back, which it wasn't there last year.
He's always been a professional running back.
Good vision, good in pass pro.
But anyways, Atlanta's run defense is garbage.
They were really bad last year.
I think they led the NFL in rushing yards over expectation allowed.
A little bit better in week one, obviously, but it's one week.
I'm still standing on last year's priors.
I think Chuba smashes.
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.
It's a rare game.
They're favored.
It's a good matchup.
He looked really good.
Jonathan Brooks did not,
you know,
dealing with a little bit of,
you know,
injury kind of stuff.
And also it was basically like
his first ever NFL game,
basically, basically.
But the usage was really good
before the fourth quarter of garbage time.
It was a 77% snap share.
10 of 14 carries,
two of four targets,
16 fantasy points,
20 XFP. So yeah, I mean, this is where it gets scary, Brett, is you have Chuba Hubbard one spot
behind Omerian Hampton for a player who is going 10 rounds later.
Judarian Price versus the Cardinals. I can't believe you're doing this. You allowed this team
to torment you all last season with Kenneth Walker the third. And here you are again.
We're projecting him RB21, 12.9 fantasy points this week. It's a great matchup. There's no doubt.
I know we just talked about the Cardinals shutting down the chart.
run offense. Seattle's a different animal. And I think if Price gets the opportunity,
he could just go nuts. Is he going to get the opportunity, Scott? What does he need to pay off
his position right here? Man, I hope so. They can't keep getting away with it, Brett. You know,
logic and reason has to prevail at some point. And honestly, the usage was pretty good for a player
making his NFL debut. He ran more routes, had more targets than George Hollani. It was vastly the
more efficient runner 5.2 yards per carry to Holani's 3.6. Arizona was a bottom three matchup against
running backs last year. So yeah, I kind of a low end Rby too. So, you know, not a must start
but probably, you know, there are some, as you'll see in a minute here, there's some, some names
you might be surprised we'd start over him. All right. Let's get to the sit list.
Cam Scadabu versus the Rams. This is shocking. Is this purely just the past
game stuff for you? Yeah, you know, and this is what I was saying when you were drafting
Cam Scadaboo is the second half is going to be a little bit better than the first half of the
season. And so you have him seven, seven point underdogs up against the Rams and he had a 0%
target share. So it's very easy for him to get scripted out. And so we have him as a low end
derby too, but we do have him behind Judarian price. So it is possible he's a sit in your league,
even if you did draft him ahead of some of these other names.
Is there a chance of Giants beat the Rams?
I think there is, Brett.
That line seems a little crazy to me.
You said seven and a half?
Oh, listen.
Jackson Dart won a bunch of games last year he shouldn't have with like a disgustingly bad roster.
The roster got a lot better.
Coaching got a lot better.
The dude is good at football.
This is a scrappy, underrated team.
Uh, I think there's a chef.
And a half.
That's a crazy spread.
That's a crazy line.
I'm going to pick the Giants to cover that.
And I know that's not what we do on the show, but I'm doing it anyways.
Let's do it, baby.
Giants to cover.
Um, all right.
Jalen Warren versus the Patriots.
Rico Daudel versus the Patriots.
We're listening both as sits.
We're projecting 26 and 28, respectively, roughly between 11 and 12 points.
Um, I don't know.
I, the, the, the rush offense looks great.
Actually, the whole, the whole, the whole,
Steelers offense
gross in week one,
but Patriots defense is kind of gross.
Yeah, this was a bottom three
matchup for running backs last year,
and we had Warren and Rico
Dattle basically in a dead even,
50-50 split on an offense
that ranked top three
in P-Roe.
I'm not starting these guys.
They're high-end R-B-3s.
It's, yeah,
not dependable guys
you feel good about.
I really want someone to emerge
as the lead back here.
I really want Rico to do it.
I think Rico's really, yeah.
But Warren needs to just,
it happens every year.
We think Warren's going to have a big step,
and then whoever else is on the roster
kind of passes him on the pecking order.
So it'll happen again this year.
It just might take some time.

Tony Pollard versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
Yeah, I'm not starting any running back against Eagles ever,
unless they're like a bona fide superstar.
But what's going on here with you?
Yeah, I mean, like his week one couldn't have gone any worse.
The Titans looked just as awful as they did in the preseason.
Worse yet.
It was a perfect 50-50 committee by Snapshare.
Taji Spears had more XFP.
So it's a vastly worse role than the one he had last year,
where you finish just 30th in fantasy points per game.
It's a 16 point implied total up against a tough defense.
There's seven point underdogs,
which actually plays in detage a bit better than Spears.
Or, yeah, than Pollard, because Spears is more the past catching back.
It's just, yeah, gross.
This was a bad pick.
Like, even if you went zero RB, this distinct.
Yeah, who's picking first in the draft?
The Titans are the Dolphins.
Oh.
Oh boy.
Titans?
Yeah, yeah, Titans.
I'm going to go dolphins, but no, you know what?
I'll go, I'll go Titans.
I think dolphins have a little higher floor with the quarterback situation.
Aaron Jones, we already talked about so we can kind of move on.
But, you know, I'm sure you're taking him up the sit list now that he's presumably going to be the lead back.
Yeah, this is why you subscribe to fantasy points.
You get access to the best projections in the industry.
Use our front office tool.
it's never been easier to make your start sit decisions and, you know, come up with good trade ideas and whatnot.
So, yeah, we'll see where he shakes out, you know, based on this news and then also based on our Projection Summit meeting Friday.
J.K. Dobbins versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I think we're a little gun shy about Denver in general right now, although Jonah Coleman didn't play at all.
Played like one snap.
Yeah.
So that's positive for.
JK. Yeah, it's so this is a sneaky brutal matchup. The Jaguars have given up the fewest fantasy
points per game to running back since week one of last year. I think Jacksonville wins this game.
I think Vegas is too low on Jacksonville. And the role isn't great. He's not a pass catching back.
He had eight of 11 carries and yeah, he's probably going to get eight to 12 carries and no
targets just about every week when the spread is this close. So,
Yeah, he's a low-end RB3.
Brutal, brutal matchup.
Jeremiah Love versus the Seattle Seahawks.
We're projecting RB 33, 10.3 fantasy points.
The really only path for Love to have a good day is in the past game,
but that's no guarantee.
Where are you at on, oh, and Tyler Alger, by the way, played more than Love last year,
or last week, so were you at on Jeremiah Love?
Right.
I love this ranking.
Ryan Heath probably doesn't.
He was trying to gaslight.
you and the Everything report that Jeremiah loves week one usage was actually good.
It was not to me.
44% of the snaps, 39% of the backfield carries.
He's up against the toughest run defense and football, just 3.5 yards per carry since the start of last season.
You know, Ryan would say he was limited in practice all last week and he's going to get better usage this week.
I'm not so sure of it.
And even if he did, I don't know that it would matter against this Seahawks run.
defense.
Bacial tuned versus Denver Broncos.
Denver's defense is nasty as we've disclosed.
But Scott,
they were just one of the worst run
defense performances we've seen in a while.
They missed a billion
tackles on national TV.
This has been a problem for the Denver Broncos
actually for a long time.
If you listen to my podcast first read with Joe
Marino, we've been talking about like every
offsees like, what does Denver need to do?
They need to add a no stopping defensive tackle and a
Mike linebacker that can go get some.
They never do it.
They just, they don't care.
It's super weird to me.
I, you know, I'm not really a basal tutant guy, but I'm like, are we really calling him a sit when he could just go off because Denver sucks on defending the run?
Right.
So that's the question for you, Brett, is, you know, is he a sit?
Maybe I should have had him in the Let's Talk It Out tier.
But yeah, Denver not being able to tackle running backs.
You had 16 miss tackles force from Kenneth Walker.
was one of the most in fantasy points data history.
There was also that that game where Devon A-chan and Rahim Moster and Chris Brooks
combined for 300 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
So like, as you said, this has been an issue for a while.
I think part of the issue here is, it's just a really gross committee backfield,
only a 47% snap share, 11 of 21 carries, one target.
He only ran one more route than Chris Rodriguez, a guy who like,
has never caught passes in his entire career.
So, yeah, I was surprised to see Chris all the way down at RB 34,
but, you know, I'm not really all that mad at it either.
Is it too early for me to victory lap this or no?
It's a little bit more.
It's a little bit.
It's a lot.
Okay.
I will just say Chris Rodriguez running Wildcat was like chef's kiss.
Love that.
Love that.
That was awesome.
All right, let's hit these.
Let's talk it out, guys real quickly.
We got Quinn, Judkins, Marshawn Lloyd, and Travis H.
Echan, A. Chan, sorry, geez, I can't, I still can't get it right.
Cushon Judkins, or as you would like to call him, Juncans,
Quinchan, Junkins, that's what you call him.
What is it?
Yeah, you always mispronounce his name.
That's disrespectful.
That's like the lowest form of, the highest form of dignity is pronouncing someone's
name correctly.
There's no line.
Yeah.
Well, the simplest form of human dignity is getting someone's,
name correct right well there's two guys in the let's talk it out tier where i struggle with their
names apparently yeah i i'm a big hater on quinshan judkins he you know it's a a dog shit offense
that is always going to be trailing can't get first downs um he had 12 of 13 carries last
week two of five backfield targets that was with dylan samson not playing a snap he's on i r now
um and so like yeah maybe he gets a big slice of the pie it just like
is like a really shitty pie you know so it's a tiny disgusting awful pie so Chris has him low
end Darby too I think I'd be even lower on him I'd like to hear what you think I the
Buccaneers defense without Vita Ve Ve is this a is this actually a good run defense to
target what's going on here is Vita Vaya out isn't he oh maybe not he might be I mean I
I can't keep up on every injury.
He's fine.
I lose him.
So my hot take is I thought
Quinchan Judkins had one of the most
overrated rookie seasons ever
in the history of fantasy football.
People talked about this guy like he was incredible.
And I never understood it.
You look like outside of what, was it the Baltimore game,
the Green Bay game, the dude average like 2.9 yards
of carry over like the next eight games or something.
We legitimately, the only thing he had going in his favor was
volume, right?
and he scored some touchdowns.
But I just think that's not really dependable.
I think Tampa Bay's defense is pretty darn good.
Their run defense historically has been really, really good.
So yeah, I'm definitely out on him.
I would say he's a sit for me, not even a let's talk it out guy.
Hell yeah.
All right.
We're in agreement.
Marshawn Lloyd versus the Jets.
It feels like a better situation than the Judkins thing.
But what's going on here?
Well, the Jets were a top three matchup last year.
His usage was okay in week 1, 45% of the snaps, 13 of 20 carries, one of two targets.
He sucked.
He had 2.8 yards per carry, the worst rushing yards over expectation per attempt of any running back in week one.
It was just his second NFL game, though.
And he couldn't make it past the seventh snap of that first game.
So maybe he gets more work this week.
Maybe he's a little bit more efficient.
But I don't really know.
We have him as RB24, so fringe RB2, but I wanted to hear your thoughts on this.
Well, my main take is, and I was talking to my buddy, Josh Liskowitz, who works over at PFF Enterprise, TeamWorks.
He's an O-Line guru, and I was talking to him on the phone the other day.
We kind of came to the same conclusion that this is probably the worst Green Bay offensive line we've seen in our lifetime.
you know we're we're both nfc north fans and we grew up around the same era i was born in 87 i
legitimately think this is the worst green bay offensive line that we've seen in our in my lifetime
and so for whatever reason they just let this slip a little bit it seems like they've done
such a great job through the years of of getting ready to have guys move on and then have their
replacements in tow they've just let too many guys walk over the years and they they probably need to
spend some time retaining their talent.
But this is a rough situation.
I thought, like, it's easy to say Marshawn Lloyd sucked.
I think the offensive lines sucked.
And that's the concerning thing long term.
The Packers in general just look so disjointed on offense.
Other than that first drive, which is really, really messy.
So I don't know what to think here.
I'm totally fine calling him to sit just because it was a little alarming in week one.
Do you think this offensive line is going to suck all year?
Do you think?
Yeah, probably.
get healthier are they dealing with injuries no not i mean aaron banks isn't playing right now but
like you know no i yeah i think this is probably going to be a a year long thing to be honest
the right side of their lines bad they have a first year starter and jordan morgan at left tackle so
and then they're dealing with an injury at left this is this is why we're such a good team
bread is because i know the name names of maybe five offensive linemen so uh
or defensive players.
So yeah,
I appreciate your strengths being my weaknesses.
That's very convenient for me.
It's very convenient for me too.
All right, Travis A-Chen.
A-Chann, sorry, versus Baltimore.
You know, I even called D-Bro to ask him about this
because he, you know, he's from the New Orleans area.
So A-chan or Etienne is a, it's occasion name.
So I called him to get the pronunciation guide,
and I still can't nail it.
It's because it's not A-Chane, like,
Devon A-Chain.
It's different.
It's pronounced different.
Well, A-Chane's name is pronounced.
A-chan.
A-chan.
Yeah.
It's not that.
That's not how we're saying this.
It's like Echen.
I don't know.
I'll have to talk to D. Brogan.
Good bless you.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, well, Trevor Etienne says it's pronounced Trevor Etienne.
Exactly.
Like Travis A-chan is trying to pretend he's Devon A-Cham's brother.
Right.
And not Trevor Etienne's brother.
Yeah, that's offensive.
Yeah.
So let me just.
say this it sucks to be an etienne owner this is a player we kind of dumped all over all offseason
um not to victory lap too early but it really doesn't look good kamara didn't even play in this game
he tied kendry miller and carries with nine um the ravens did struggle against jonathan taylor
in week one but that's jonathan taylor i i know you said you thought this was going to be a really
good run defense this year so uh travis atienne just a high end rb three this week yeah and taylor really i mean
was bottled up pretty good minus a couple of explosives. You know what I mean? So yeah. And I don't think
I don't think Travis has that in him at this. I mean he's one of the worst explosive run rates over the
last three years. All right. Exactly. Exactly. So what happens when Kamara comes back like right? Then
he loses maybe four targets per game to him like it's just bad. You know what's sad and it's
unrelated to start sit or redraft but like in dynasty he was like the cheapest starting running.
back to acquire last year at the deadline. So I traded for like every competitive team I have.
I have, I have Travis on it. Wow. And it's just, it's really sad. I don't know what to do.
But anyways, all right, we're going to get out of here. That's going to do it for us today.
