I think Fernando Mendoza is going to be the only quarterback drafted in round one this year.
People are expecting to see Ty Simpson go inside a round one, and I just don't see it happening.
I think Fernando Mendoza is worthy of the number one overall pick, but I just don't see anybody else going inside of round one, which isn't what we want to see.
Not so fast, my friend, with a little shout out Lee Corso with my pushback here, I'll say Ty Simpson does go inside a round one.
The most logical destination will end up being the Arizona Cardinals.
And I think they're a team that's one of the teams that's most likely to be three.
No, not at three.
Not at three.
I think that there's going to be a trade up for Arizona to get back in the first round to take him there.
Or they're going to trade back from three.
He doesn't hit.
They'll be right back at the table next year drafting one.
It's such a commodity that you need to hit on.
This team is sort of screaming for, I need a young quarterback.
So we're buttoned heads on this one.
Let's help.
That's the old cheat.
10 bold fantasy football predictions for the 2026 NFL draft.
Theo Greminger, Fantasy Football Daily on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network and Fantasy Points YouTube.
Joined by my guy, Dave Klugie of Football Guys.
Dave, I podcast with you a million times.
Not a whole lot of preamble here.
You always bring the heat.
And today we're doing a really, really fun show.
We're dropping our bold fantasy football predictions for the NFL draft.
So you're not going to hear about Sunny Stiles.
You're not going to hear about Caleb Downs.
We're talking skill position players and a few other things that relate to fantasy football to keep in mind during the 2026 NFL draft.
Dave, I had your guy, Matt Waldman, recorded a dynasty life with him.
And a question that I'm going to start asking every guest and people I work with at fantasy points as well.
When we take Jeremiah Love out of the equation and let's go ahead and take Fernando Mendoza out of the equation, the top quarterback and the top player,
which skill position player to three years from now is going to be looked at as the best fantasy football player out of this 2026 draft class.
I like this question a lot because it kind of forces me to think a little bit.
Like I could just go like with like this is the guy who's like the number two in my rankings,
but I don't think that's quite as fun.
So I'm going to go a little bit off track here.
I'm going to go with Nick Singleton.
And I think that there is going to be a huge discount in his draft capital because of that broken foot.
And I think that because he's dealing with that right now,
that just means that there is going to be a team out there
that's going to be savvy enough to get him late,
put him in a good offense.
This guy has game-breaking speed,
past catching upside,
all the things we want to see in fantasy football.
So it might not be a name that everybody's talking about right now.
You can get him in the middle of the second round in your rookie drafts,
but I could see him elevating himself into that elite tier of dynasty running backs in two years.
Yeah, it's like a little bit of prospect fatigue when it comes to Nick Singleton,
and I think him not being able to go to the combine or hurt him.
but you're talking about the all-time leading
all-time leading touchdown score at Penn State.
It's crazy.
Penn State.
It's crazy.
Talking like Franco Harris and like, yeah, like just so many studs at Penn State.
And yeah, he's in a ton of receptions as well as a collegiate.
And a guy who got on the field early for Penn's.
A lot of boxes to check off.
And that's a bold enough way to start out the show here, Dave.
Make sure you check out Dynasty Life.
Matt Waldman, his answer for this one was a player,
maybe same range as Nick Singleton.
So people are really taking their shots on this draft class.
Birds eye view, where are you at in terms of excitement level?
Are you sort of with the, this is a down year?
Do you think that's a little bit played out?
Where are you at in terms of looking at this class from a bird's eye perspective?
I mean, I'd say both things are true.
Like my excitement is 11 out of 10 because it's the NFL draft,
and I love the NFL draft, and there's so much content to be made after.
And, you know, we get to landing spots and projections and all that fun stuff.
But yeah, if we're comparing this draft class to just about any other.
draft class in the last five years.
This one's going to be pretty disappointing.
I think, you know, we already know where the number one overall picks going.
Jeremiah Love, we kind of are looking at three potential landing spots for him.
And I think that's what makes this class so fun is a lot of times we're just kind of like
etching these names in ink at the top of the draft.
And we already know where these guys are going.
Here we are a week out from the draft.
And there are still a million unanswered questions.
So yeah, this is a down class in terms of talent.
But I think that that sort of openness and not knowing what's going to
happen actually makes this a really fun draft to try to analyze and predict.
Yeah, it's a really fun NFL draft in general to cover because you've got some non-traditional
positions that could go higher than normal.
It feels like there's going to be a good amount of trades as well.
So I'm with you.
I'm super excited.
And again, we might like this class a little bit more after the NFL draft with some
of these landing spots.
Some guys, we've all got our favorites that were sort of rooting for to land well.
But you bring up a guy like a Nick Singleton.
There's a couple of running backs where if these guys land well, they could really offer some fantasy values.
Certainly Eli Stowers, everybody's rooting for him.
It'll be a really, really sad day if Stowers lands in some offense that's unexciting and maybe lands in like the late 50s or in terms of his draft capital.
But let's go ahead and get this thing started.
What is your first bold fantasy football prediction for the 2026 NFL draft?
All right.
I'm starting hot.
And I just want to say, Theo, I feel like.
like three of the last four shows we've done together have been these bold
promotion episodes. This is why I bring the guy on.
Fantasy points audience. Yeah. Dave Klugie. The only thing you do here in this,
in this audience is we just have Dave come on and bring the heat with bold predictions.
That's that's what we're going. We're going to keep the bit going, Dave,
throughout the year as well. We'll have to do one like reasonable level headed episode at
some point, but not today. Here's my kind of like off the top rope. This is probably one
of my spicier ones, but I think we can see seven wide receivers go in round one this year.
Obviously, there's been so much talk about Jordan Tyson, Mackay Lemon, and Carnal Tate up top.
But Casey Concepcion, there's some concern about the knee injury.
Seems like he has cleared that.
Looks like he's 100% going into the draft.
Denzel Boston has that prototypical ex-receiver profile that we really like.
Omar Cooper Jr., getting a lot of round one buzz right now.
And then the one that I'll sneak in there is kind of the sneaky one, Chris Brasel.
And I know a lot of people probably aren't expecting round one draft capital.
But when you look at a guy, six foot four with the production that he had, the speed that he had,
I think there's going to be some allure there.
But the main thing that jumps out to me is looking at who's picking late in round one.
Because we expect that top three to go probably inside the top 15.
But when you look, there's so many wide receiver needy teams that are picking late in round one.
We got Carolina at 19.
Dallas has two first round picks and they might be looking for some sort of leverage against George Pickens, Philadelphia, Cleveland,
Buffalo, San Francisco, Houston, Kansas City, Miami, New England.
All of these teams picking in the second half of round one need wide receiver help.
So it is a top heavy position this year with some really good talent.
I think it wouldn't be surprising to see seven wide receivers off the board on day one.
Yeah, it's that wild card that's really for this bet to come true.
I think like six wouldn't have been bold.
I expect six to be drafted in the first round.
And that's sort of the way the wheels have been turning with this draft class is Omar Cooper,
Jr. looks like a player that is going to be a first round pick, Casey Concepcion.
And then Denzel Boston, especially when we try to like align the top 30.
visits and sort of the profile that he brings to the table.
Like there's scenarios here where all six of those guys are gone before pick 24,
which is Cleveland Browns.
And Cleveland has been one of the,
Cleveland's been one of the kind of a lot of people connecting them to a wide receiver there
if they don't take one at six.
You've got a couple other teams.
And then you've got to get your wild card player up.
But I do think that if people think that there is a run on wide receivers,
one of these guys, and I'll throw a couple names out there.
You say Chris Brasel.
I think there's also Zachariah Branch who's going to go in the top 50 and is some team like, okay, Tyree Kill, let's roll the dice.
And I'm going to take him at like 32.
I'm going to trade up and get that pick in front of Seattle.
It probably doesn't happen.
I would put it as a less than 10% chance.
But Brasel, I think the over under on him being selected is probably somewhere like 45.
So if there's a gravitational pull from these other wide receivers, then I think this could actually hit.
So I think the over bets on wide receivers taken in the first round, really strong stuff.
And Dave, you're bringing the heat right from the start.
And, you know, we're going to talk about some sleepers and we've got some cool takes for like round two and day two.
But certainly day three, even above a couple day three.
And Dave, I think you've got an undrafted free agent prediction.
But I'm going to go top of the food chain.
I'm going to go Apex Predator.
I'm going to go with our favorite player in the draft, Jeremiah Love.
And people are about to tune out saying, what are you bold prediction?
Jeremiah Love?
Here's the bold prediction with Jeremiah Love.
Jeremiah Love, the bold prediction for him is we are in a ideal environment to draft him inside of our redraft leagues this year.
Because what happened last year, Ashton Genti got steamed up to about the one to turn as high as 10 overall in some of these NFFC primetime, FFPC main event type formats.
And Genti didn't deliver.
Genti did some great things.
And he averaged 14.5 points per game.
but you get your first round pick averaging about 14,
and people are going to say,
I'm really worried about the same thing happening
when it comes to Jeremiah Love,
rookie running back,
and then you look at some of the landing spots,
potentially if it's Tennessee,
is there's some little annoyance with one of those guys,
Pollard or Spears, maybe cutting in.
Then you look at Washington,
and you say it's a wide open runway for him,
but Jacourke-Cresdie-Marrett had touches last year,
and then, of course, Rashad White,
good pass-blocker, good pass-blocker.
He's going to limit the, and then of course, New York, it's, whoa, Cam Scataboo and Tyrone Tracy, they're there, doesn't matter.
Jeremiah Love is a weapon of mass destruction.
He's going to average 19 or more points per game, and he is going to outscore each and every running back in the very hyped 2025 class.
He's going to average more points per game than Ashton Gentie, who I don't mind at ADP.
He's going to average more points per game than Omarion Hampton, who's going at the 1-2 turn right now in FFPC early 350s.
He's going to score more points per game than anyone in the 2025 class, and we'll take it up a notch.
When we do this show a year from now and we're saying, hey, Dave, who do you have in your top five for 2027 redraft?
Jeremiah Love's name will be mentioned as a potential number one overall pick in 2027 redraft classes, along with the Bijans and the Jemir Gibbs and the Jamar Chases and the Jackson Smith and Jigbos.
I think he is a fast track guy.
Go back in time to what Zeke Elliott did as a rookie.
go back in time to what Sequin Barclay did as a rookie.
I think that's in the wheelhouse for Jeremiah Love.
I agree with everything that you said there.
I think the one thing I'd push back a little bit on,
I'm carrying the torch for Amari and Hampton.
I think that him being healthy, Mike McDaniel there,
you know, the tackles back for Los Angeles.
I don't know if I can get Love ahead of Hampton in my rankings,
but he is such a good player.
And I think the really exciting prospect here
is that he could land in a dream scenario as well.
You know, you talk about this.
Anybody saying,
like it's a crowded Washington wide receiver room.
Get out of here.
Like none of these guys is anywhere close to what Jeremiah Love does.
If they're spending that pick on Jeremiah Love,
he is going to get an RB1 workload.
But there's some other teams too.
Like I'm not crazy about Tennessee.
We could see that happen.
The workload would be there.
It would probably be a similar situation
to last year with Gin T like falling in a not good rebuilding offense.
I think that's one of the worst case in areas for him.
But you also look at New Orleans sitting there at eight,
probably not happening with the ETN contract.
But then Kansas City at nine.
Cincinnati at 10, like there are some good offenses that we can put Jeremiah Love into.
They would immediately put him in the running to be the top scoring running back in football this
year. And I know, you know, Kenneth Walker, they went out and they signed him, but there's still
rumors that they might be in play for love if he drops there. So, yeah, just such a good player.
And if he can land in a good spot, that's not something we see all that often, a running back
going inside the top 10 and landing in a good offense. What spot are you rooting for him to land in?
For me, it's been Washington. I've had some pushback from some.
others, but Washington for me, I mean, it's the clear runway.
The money ball approach to Corey Kroski Merritt's seventh round pick.
Rashad White, they signed for super cheap.
Like a vet minimum.
Jerome Ford.
I mean, there's nothing there.
Jeremy Nichols, they brought back.
All of those moves tell me is that like, we're going to add depth here in case we can't
get Jeremiah love because there isn't a guy who should be an RB1 on that team.
If he falls to seven, I don't think there's any chance that Washington passes on him.
And I think that would be my favorite pick.
That's where I really want him to go.
I've kind of been wishcasting that all offseason.
But I love Chase Brown.
Don't get me wrong.
I think he is a very, very good football player.
But, man, I can't help but think about what Jeremiah
love could look like in that offense if he falls to 10.
If he gets the Chase Brown type volume in that offense, too.
I mean, I have plenty of Chase Brown bags and Dynasty.
It would be like, hey, I'd have to exit our live coverage of the NFL draft
and go compose myself moment for me.
It would not be a great financial moment for me.
it would be a great fantasy moment for Jeremiah Love.
So rooting for Jeremiah Love to land well, a ton of talent.
He's carrying the torch for this draft class, but he's not the only rookie we're going to talk
about.
We're going to take a quick break.
We come back.
Dave has a Dallas Cowboys prediction that you want to hear right after this.
All right, welcome back.
Theo Griminger and Dave Kluge dropping our bold predictions for the 2026 NFL draft for fantasy
football.
Dave, what do you have going on this time of year?
I mean, I know what you have going on this time of year.
But what is the content looking like for you with a couple days left until the NFL draft and then post NFL draft?
Yeah, so we're going to be really busy for the NFL draft.
My friends and football guys colleagues, Jeff Bell and Joey, right, they're coming out here to Colorado.
We're setting this office up that I record out of to be a fun little three-person studio.
We're going to be doing live watch parties throughout the draft.
So come hang with us over on the Football Guys YouTube channel if you want to do that.
And then, of course, instant reaction articles, updating the rookie guide for version three post draft.
We've got so much to do, getting new projections out there.
And then we start our divisional preview episodes that I do with Jeff Bell.
So, you know, there's so much like guessing and speculating this time of year a week from now.
We don't have to guess and speculate all that much.
You know, then we get to start working on projections, building out what we think is going to happen this year.
So that like two, three weeks after the NFL draft might be my favorite time in the off season when we're kind of like watching the sausage get made as an industry.
Yeah, it's for me, it's,
As soon as day three ends, I have about a week between that and the FFPC dynasty rookie draft starting up.
So for me, it's like just churning and churning and churning.
There's some late trades and all that kind of stuff.
And then you've got the best ball and the redraft ADP starts.
I mean, it's amazing time if you're a fantasy football content creator.
And certainly if you're a fantasy football player, you love the reshuffling.
One door opens, another door closes for a guy kind of mentality of the NFL draft.
And one team that's always talked about, good or bad, is the Dallas Cowboys.
They have two first round picks this year.
Recently there's been some rumors linking them to trading up.
I mean, they're always in the news, but you've got a bold prediction for what they do with these first round picks.
Yeah, and, you know, this is something Bob Harris and I talked about this on a show just a couple of days ago.
We always think we know what's going to happen in the NFL draft.
And we talk about it so assuredly.
And I think everybody has just decided already that like the Cowboys have to,
spend both of their picks on defense. They've got two first round picks for the first time in over a
decade. But if you look historically, the Cowboys have kind of built their offense through the draft
and then built their defense through trades and free agency. So I look at these picks coming up.
Three of their last four first rounders have been on offense. And Massey Smith is the lone
exception there, who wasn't really a great pick. So I see some really good wide receivers in this
class that we talked about with the last take, some really good offensive line in this class as well.
and right now you'd think that the Cowboys are set at wide receiver,
but we've already got George Pickens saying that he's not going to play without an extension.
We know Jerry Jones doesn't like playing hardball with these guys that are willing to hold out.
So I look at a guy like Carnell Tate.
He can do a lot of the same things that George Pickens does.
And I think that if they can draft a guy like Carnal Tate,
it gives them leverage to move off of George Pickens.
And then they also, you know, they've got some good tackles right now,
but they need to fix that interior offensive line.
So I look at their late first round pick, potentially going to offensive line.
And so this to me is just one of those takes that, like, we shouldn't get too anchored to pre-draft biases.
Every mock draft you see out there is just mocking safeties and linebackers and edge rushers to Dallas.
And it makes sense.
That's what they need.
But this is also a team that has been very aggressive on the trade market to get guys that they need on defense.
So we have seen them consistently going to the well in the first round drafting these offensive linemen.
I think that we could see them spending both of their first round picks this year on
offense, much to the dismay of Dallas fans. Yeah, it would be wild. It would be absolutely wild.
I've done some, I've done a mock before where I've had Dallas sort of clean up a
Vega, Vega, Iowani type value at 20. I'm sort of locked into them wanting to get defensive,
but I think you're right. It gives them a lot more flexibility. And if they view the,
the strength of this draft to be wide receiver, then in that war room, they've got a guy that they
really love. It could be a Mackay limit. It could be somebody we're not
necessarily aligning with them. But there's also a chance that you get to 12. They don't trade up.
They say, we're going to get somebody really good at pick 20. We don't want to move up with the two
picks together. And we want to use these picks. We want to sort of stay fluid. There's a chance that
both cornerbacks are off the board or maybe McCoy, they've eliminated because of maybe medicals.
And there's a chance that downs and Rubin Bain are both off the board. And they say that the value
presented to us is wide receiver.
We've got these two really good wide receivers,
but the long-term outlook for Pickens is we're going to keep tagging them,
is he become a Mercurial locker room guy if we don't give him what he wants?
Like, there's a lot of things that go through your mind here.
And you look at what they've done historically as a franchise
in terms of trading for Pickens last season,
drafting Cid Lam inside the first round,
acquiring Amari Cooper in that big trade.
Like, Jerry Jones has been linked with getting his guy at the wide receiver position
If they fall in love with one, there's a bunch of them there.
And my next prediction is also wide receiver related.
And I look at the chiefs.
And I say, people are trying to like sift through what Kansas City will do with the ninth overall pick.
They're not used to picking here.
This is Brett Veach, the GM for the chiefs.
He's been the GM for them for a number of years.
They make the big trade this offseason.
They send Trent McDuffie to acquire the extra first round pick.
You know, this is they save some money doing that.
People are saying, you know, maybe this is the Mansour Delane pick and they're going to replace Trent McDuffie.
Then you go back to like the history of what they've done.
Andy Reid likes drafting offensive linemen.
They drafted Josh Simmons last year.
Maybe they draft one of these offensive linemen.
Let's protect Patrick Mahomes.
But then you look at a position that they've been trying to get right for years.
Mikul Hardman 2019.
They draft the Skymore, 2022.
then of course Xavier Worthy in 2024.
They hit on the Rashi Rice pick.
That was certainly a pick that they hit on,
but he's going to be due for a contract.
Rashi Rice and impending free agent.
I think that nine overall ends up being a wide receiver,
and I think it ends up being Carnell Tate or Jordan Tyson.
Two outside wide receivers that could be featured weapons in this offense.
It insulates them from having to pay Rashi Rice
if there's another off-the-field incident.
And it's also two players that you could combine with Roshy-Rice.
Rice and have two excellent wide receiver options for Patrick Mahomes with Travis Kelsey
at some point set to retire.
So I think nine overall, it's a swing pick in the NFL draft, but I think ultimately it
swims towards wide receiver.
And it creates sort of a little bit of a headache if you're a Rashi Rice manager in Dynasty
where who do you want?
You want Carnell Tate?
You want the new hotness?
Or do you want Rashi Rice, a guy who has been injured several times, season-ending lower
body injuries, but he's been super affected.
and super highly utilized.
But it's a champagne problem for the chiefs
because I think they could do a lot
with a combination of Tyson or Tate
with Rashi Rice.
And if they end up resigning Rashi Rice,
that's a really solid wide receiver room.
And in terms of chain movers
with Kelsey moving on,
the offense just sort of shifts
and becomes more wide receiver-centric.
They added your guy, Kenneth Walker.
That starts being a really fun offense in Kansas City again.
You know, I also see historically,
the chiefs have kind of moved on
from some of these problem players.
Like they won't shy away from drafting them,
but if they can't get their head on, right,
they will ship them off.
And we saw that with Kareem Hunt.
We saw that with Tyreek Hill.
So the guy that you didn't mention,
Mackay Lemon,
I think can do a lot of the same things as Rashi Rice.
So talked about this on a show a couple days ago.
I think that the chiefs are basically locked in at nine
for taking a receiver.
And I think the receiver that they choose
is going to tell us a lot about how they feel about
Rashi Rice long term.
I think if they go with Jordan Tyson,
if they go with Carnal Tate,
that tells us that they probably have a little bit of faith
in Rashi Rice, who can be a complimentary piece of them.
If they take Mackay Lemon, to me, sirens are immediately sounding in my head.
That tells me that they're probably willing to move on from Rashi Rice,
if not trading him before his contract ends, just letting him walk when it expires.
Yeah, a shout out to the Mackay Lemon faders.
It would be hard to sort of fade the Mackay Lemon narrative if he ends up with Patrick Mahomes
at 9 overall.
Really, really fun discussion there.
Let's talk about your next one.
And this is, you know, Dave, you don't hide it, man.
You know, you can leave Chicago.
but the accent's going to stay with you for life.
And you've got a hot one for the Chicago Bears.
And this is like an offense that we love to talk about because it's Ben Johnson.
It's year two.
And Ben Johnson, Ben Johnson, year two in Detroit, offense goes like this.
Year three keeps going up.
I'm out of the screen here.
Ben Johnson, a lot of pieces there.
People are not really talking about this position, though.
Yeah.
And the Bears netted an extra second round pick in that DJ Moore trade do.
So they're going to be picking twice in round two.
And my take is that they spend one of those two picks on a running back.
which I think is what we all secretly, like, really want to see happen in this offense.
Like, don't give me wrong.
Love D'Andre Swift.
I think that he has really short up his game over the last couple of years.
He's a much better player now than he was early in his career.
But last year, there were so many rumors about how the Bears wanted to draft a running back.
They were trying to trade up for Trayvion on Henderson after Quinn John Judkins was drafted,
couldn't get a trade there and ended up taking Luther Berden, just BPA.
We heard that they wanted in round four.
There was this run right before they made their pick, where Woody Marks, Cam Cadaboo,
Bayshall Tootin all went off the board.
And the Bears traded back from there.
They ended up getting a round seven pick in Kyle Monongai.
But I think they want to have that thunder lightning approach.
And if you look historically, we have seen that in every Ben Johnson offense,
whether it was DeAndre Swift and Jamal Williams,
Jamir Gibbs and David Montgomery or last year with DeAndre Swift and Kyle Montgomery.
Kyle Menangai, I think they want to maintain that.
And when I look at some of the available guys that could be there in round two,
I think Nick Singleton, probably a bit of a reach with a broken,
foot, but I think he would be a perfect pairing with
Kalmanungi, being that lightning to his thunder.
Also, Judarian Price is a guy.
I think if he falls to that early second round
pick, that would make a lot of sense for the
Bears. So we saw not too long
ago when the lions were picking and we
thought that they were set with
the backfield they have and they swung
for the fences with Jamir Gibbs at pick number
12. We know they wanted to do the same last
year with a running back and the board just didn't fall to them.
I think this year they're going to be
much more aggressive in targeting
that big play speed
to stir running back. And the two that really jump out to me are Judarian Price and Nick Singleton
is being great fits in that offense. This is a dream landing spot if you're Judarian Price. And it's
for dynasty managers where I think the short term thinking would be, oh, we didn't get the Seattle
landing spot. I don't want to take this guy. But then if you just have a little bit of like forward
thinking, Ben Johnson going and getting his guy. And you mentioned last year. And I think that's the
operative word is there, I believe it was one of the, I,
And I forgot the writer here.
But this was one of the main Chicago beat reporters for the Bears did a report sort of covering the war room.
How much they wanted Travian Henderson.
They weren't able to get them.
How much they wanted Cam Scataboo.
And it's like they just missed on getting a couple of these guys.
And can you imagine the fantasy football team for Henderson or a Scataboo in this Bears offense?
Now you have those two second round picks.
So they can get defensive at the end of the first round.
and they can use another one of those second round picks to get another defender.
They certainly need probably an edge rusher.
They've been linked to a safety.
There's a lot of pragmatic defensive players that they've been linked to Chicago.
But you're talking Ben Johnson.
You're talking to one of the best offensive minds in the game.
And if he gets his hands on a Judarian price,
that could be a max-out-type landing spot for price.
So I would absolutely love this one.
And it feels like a team that's close enough in terms of getting to a Super Bowl.
that there could be a little bit of maneuvering and maybe shift up a little bit,
get into that top 45 range if price starts to fall a little bit.
So I would love to root for price.
The Singleton one more time.
Also shout out Singleton one more time just because I think the Bears are the perfect team to draft him
because they don't have an immediate need at running back.
They still have DeAndre Swift with a year left on his contract.
So they don't need to draft a day two running back and immediately put him in the offense.
They can kind of put him on ice and let him heal up.
It would be much more of a pick for 2027, but having Swift, having Menungi, they don't need an immediate contributor.
So I think drafting Singleton, getting him right for 2027 would also make a lot of sense.
Yeah, that would be a huge one for fantasy football.
And Dave, we've had a sort of a run here.
Two years ago was Bucky Irving drafted in the fourth round, overtakes Rashad White, gives you basically running back one production down the stretch was phenomenal in that Tampa Bay offense.
The same year, Tyrone Tracy drafted in the fifth round.
was the sort of the fun, a lot of us in fantasy football, including yourself,
were excited about him, converted wide receiver, ends up in New York,
and it ends up making an impact, has probably eight weeks of fantasy starts for us
and ends up having a really strong season.
This past year was Woody Marks.
Woody Marks gets the fourth round draft capital,
the same sort of scenario, gets his opportunity in Houston,
gives you some two-way benefit, provided five, six usable weeks in fantasy football.
This year, I think it's Emmett Johnson.
who a shout out to people I work with like Ryan Heath,
who has Emmett Johnson ranked pretty high in his running back rankings,
but there's people falling back on, you know, the poor combine.
He had ran a 45640.
45640 is plenty fast for a number of running backs in fantasy football,
but it was disappointing for Emmett Johnson because of the speed score.
And a lot of us look at, we want guys with plus 100 speed scores.
I think that's a good way to play in the game.
But outliers exist for a reason.
Emma Johnson also, and shout out to ProDade,
40s, we can't trust them.
But the pro day 40 for Emma Johnson was a big improvement.
Runs a 4-4-6, a lot of teams at his pro day at Nebraska.
You look at the production that Emma Johnson had, unbelievable production.
Over 1,400 rushing yards this past year, forced a ton of mistackles.
It was really high up there when you look at other Big 10 running backs.
And then the receiving profile, where he had 46 receptions this past year.
Emma Johnson ticks off a bunch of boxes.
I think the draft capital is going to be one of these swing guys
where can he sneak into the third round
or is he one of these guys that goes in the beginning of the fourth round
where we've seen some of these hits.
Oh, not to mention.
Cam Scadaboo last year.
I should have mentioned him as another day three guy that was hitting.
Of course he got banged up.
But somewhere in the Bucky Irving Scataboo range
or does he go in somewhere in that round three range,
which we've seen a couple of guys fall to notably,
the most notable guy, Devon A. Chan a few years back.
But I think Emmett Johnson might fall to day three, but he's still a player that I want a ton of exposure to because he could end up being a very effective fantasy player.
Also, early entrant from Nebraska, which makes me think that there's teams that Emmett Johnson knows coming out this year was a good decision.
And with the NIL, the way it is, a guy with that much production could have gone back to Nebraska, made an absolute fortune, or transferred in the portal, and would have probably been the most.
sought after running back in the transfer class.
So Emmett Johnson will be this year's version of whatever day three guy that's hit running back
for you in fantasy football over the last couple years.
Personally, I don't think he's going to be a day three guy.
I think he's probably going in round three.
Round three.
Last year we saw all of these very talented running backs getting pushed to day three
because we heard even before the draft that there was so much running back depth that nobody
really wanted to pay up.
And that's why like in any other draft class, Cam Skadbu, Beach, Alt, Tuton, what do you
marks, these guys that we're talking about, they would have been day two picks, but everyone was
kind of playing chicken on taking running backs because they knew they can get good guys later.
I think this year the opposite is going to happen.
There's a lot of teams out there that need running back help.
And because there's kind of a clear cut top seven, I'm expecting a lot of those guys to go earlier
than we'd think that they might.
And Emmett Johnson is definitely one of those guys.
I probably double counted Emmett Johnson because there was a lot of talk before the combine
that, you know, he was this Jamir Gibbs type of player.
and I didn't really see that speed.
So when he had a bad combine, I kind of knocked him down my rankings a little bit more,
but you can't deny the production here.
I think my major fear with Emmett Johnson is that this is a bit of a Caleb Johnson scenario
where he's running behind a really good offensive line.
He's a four to the volume in college.
You know, you want to see that translate, but it doesn't always translate to the NFL.
But I think that his vision is so good that even if he doesn't have the athletic measurables
that we want to see, he is a vision-based runner and he's also a very good pass catcher.
And those two things are going to keep them on the field.
My comp for him was Ahmad Bradshaw.
And Ahmad Bradshaw had a terrible relative athletic score.
I think it was 2.85 or 3.85.
Can't remember off the top of my head, but had a terrible athletic profile,
but a vision-based runner who could catch passes.
And that ended up keeping him in the NFL for almost a decade.
So I very much so see Emmett Johnson following a similar trajectory there that just how good his fundamentals are,
that's going to keep him on the field and keep him getting a volume.
The spot, a couple of spots to root for if you want them to slide into day two.
Just a couple of these late third round picks are there.
Seattle, of course, is the free square landing spot for any rookie running back.
You've also got Jacksonville at the end of the third round where they've got all these guys,
Chris Rodriguez, Bachel Tootin, but it's still a Liam Cohen backfield.
He had that great success with.
Gladstone is the type of guy to just keep throwing darts at these late running backs.
I think we're going to see that every year.
And then Minnesota, end of the third round.
at Jordan Mason, Aaron Jones.
That's exactly the kind of backfield where you've got an old guy and a guy who's
never been able to be a true workhorse, RB1, Mason more of a running back by committee
type.
Could Emma Johnson, who's a Minnesota native, I believe, land with the Minnesota Vikings there.
That would be a really, really fun one.
Dave, your next prediction.
Let me throw one more.
Go ahead.
Houston at pick 90.
I think that that one makes a lot of sense.
Just he can immediately compliment David Montgomery as the kind of pass catcher in
that backfield.
and then give him a year or two to just bulk up a little bit
and then I think he could take over when Montgomery Leaks.
Yeah, Houston's been one where there's been a lot of people
sort of linking them to running back,
even end of the second round.
I think it was the Dane Bruegler recent mock draft.
He had them taking Janerian Price.
So yeah, the round three, round two.
Houston's also a team that they can just swing for the fences with every pick.
I mean, they're really complete football team.
So yeah, a couple of fun round three spots for Emma Johnson.
Dave, you've got an overall tight end take here, a fun one.
Yeah, I think this is a very good.
tight end class. And my prediction is that we're going to see more tight ends drafted by the end of
day two than running backs. Now, I look at the guys, it's so hard to predict exactly who's going to
go, but I look at guys who can, who could potentially sneak inside of round three. And I see a
hard cut at seven. I've got Jeremiah Love, Mike Washington, Judarian Price, Ketran Allen,
Nick Singleton, Jonah Coleman, Emmett Johnson. I think those guys could potentially sneak inside of day
three. And of course, some of them are inside of round three and some of them are going to fall to
round four and beyond. When I look at the tight ends that can get there, I see a lot more names
that excite me, Sadiq, Stowers, Claire, Royer, Jolie, Trigg, Jelineborg, Wright, Delp,
Kosjol, Maryland. I don't think it would be crazy if we see nine plus tight ends going before the
end of round three. And we saw that in 2023. Not that long ago. Tight end has become a premium position
as we see more teams living out of 12 personnel deploying these multi-tight end packages when
they get inside the red zone, I think we're trending towards that now.
Like, defenses are just getting heavier.
And the way to combat that is to have more tight ends on the field.
So I'm looking at nine guys, potentially maybe, like if you want to get real cute,
you could sneak another one or two in there.
But I think this is going to be one of those draft classes that just reshapes the tight end
landscape like we saw in 2023.
We see more tight ends getting on the field more often.
And this is a deep class.
And it's not just deep, but it's also top heavy with elite talent.
So I think that this is going to be one right now.
If you're doing these pre-draft rookie drafts, everybody's kind of ignoring the tight end position.
And I find myself walking away with guys like Oscar Delp and Joe Royer in round four.
And it wouldn't surprise me one bit if those guys end up going inside the top 80 at the NFL draft.
Yeah, I love that one.
And I think when you look at the combine, how it was a record number of tight ends invited to the combine, just sort of follow the money there.
The NFL realizes a deep tight end class.
You know, I've podcasted with a ton of people just like you have, you know, leading up into the NFL draft.
And everyone talks about Kenyon Sadiq.
Everyone talks about Eli Stowers.
But then when you look at who's that like either personal favorite type tight end or clear tight end three,
that sort of shifts around for different content creators and different NFL draft evaluators.
Is there a tight end for you that's like true and dear to your heart here?
or you want to throw like a huge bag and want exposure to a ton of these guys.
Who's like the Dave Clugie tight end if there is one?
You know, when I started doing this process in January, Joe Royer was my tight end three.
And I thought Joe Royer was a guy who should be going in like round two of rookie drafts.
Isn't getting that sort of buzz at all.
And I'm shocked.
I mean, he was a very productive guy at Cincinnati.
And he's kind of got that versatile skill set where he can play in line,
but he's also a fantastic route runner.
He can catch the ball through traffic,
make plays after the catch.
So he's the one that I find.
It's crazy to me.
Like I said, I've done a handful of dynasty rookie drafts already,
and he is just consistently sitting there in round four.
Joe Royer is the one that I think is going to surprise a lot of people with his draft capital.
I believe he just had a visit with the Houston Texans.
Interesting landing spot there with Schultz getting a little older.
And I'll say you don't get the rep, you know,
you're obviously the fantasy points audience just associates with you being a hot take guy
because I only have you on for bold prediction shows.
But I'll give you a shout here.
Dave, you're sort of a little bit of a tight end whisperer.
You were extremely high on Terrence Ferguson last year.
And it was sort of like it last year where Ferguson was in this group of tight ends, but not necessarily the same steam.
But then he gets the, you were sort of, this guy's going to be a second round pick,
pounding the table for him.
And then he ends up in L.A.
Didn't fire off, but certainly a guy that gained dynasty value if you were looking at where he was before the NFL draft.
And then with the landing spot.
and now year two is sort of a sleeper,
certainly in L.A.
So you get some credit for that one last year.
I don't forget, I don't forget, Dave.
You don't.
There we go, man.
We'll keep this one going.
I'm going to pivot off the rookies,
and this might be a cheap one.
Instacart knows that some people go bananas
about getting the perfect, well, banana.
Some want them green, some want them ripe,
some want them ready right when they hit their doorstep.
But with Instacart's preference picker,
available at most retailers,
you can choose to get your groceries just the way you like.
That means perfectly ripe bananas, deli meat sliced just the way you want,
and avocados that aren't still hard as a puck in the third period.
So don't cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Download the app and get groceries just how you like with Instacart.
It's not bold.
Everybody, you know, at this point the chalk, the money is on A.J. Brown being traded.
The beat reporters are, I saw this was like Jimmy Kempski or one of the main Philadelphia beat reporters this week,
referred to Don Tavian Wicks as the Eagles knew wide receipts.
receiver two. So AJ Brown's gone.
AJ Brown's going to get traded. I hope it happens during the NFL draft. That would make it
more exciting. I think we'd have a little more clarity about what Philadelphia is going to do
skill position player-wise, but it could happen June 1st-ish. So sometime in the next six weeks,
we're going to see AJ Brown traded away. And the bold prediction is not for AJ Brown.
The bold prediction is for Devontas Smith. And I think this is going to end up being the
Devontas-Smith year. I think the comfort level that Philly has, when they're
are still in a Super Bowl window, when there's still a win now organization to move off of
AJ Brown and do it comfortably and bring in guys like Hollywood Brown, bringing guys like Dontavian
Wicks, and they probably draft a wide receiver on day two. I could draft one at the end of
the first round. But I think it's the comfortable nature that they have with, we've got Devonsa
Smith, and there's been beat reporters saying we could give him the Jackson Smith and Jigba usage,
which a lot of people might throw that one away. But somebody's
saying that in the building. Devonta Smith was the 10th overall pick. He's had two seasons in his
career, 10th overall pick when he was drafted in the NFL draft. So he's the elite pedigree guy.
He's been a huge contributor to a number of really good Philadelphia Eagles offenses. He's had
two 15 point per game seasons in fantasy football. He's been a player that's continually,
I'm really glad he's on my fantasy team. He's had a bunch of good seasons, but he hasn't had
the season, that season that defines him fantasy-wise.
I think that could be this year.
I think A.J. Brown gets traded.
And I think Devonta Smith is a top seven PPR score.
Easy wide receiver won this year.
I think he sets a career high in targets.
I think the target volume for him will be higher than people are projecting.
I'm going to say 150 targets this year for Devontas Smith.
We're going to go heavy, heavy target load.
And he's an offensive focal point for the Philadelphia Eagles this year with
Sequin getting a little bit older.
Dallas Scottert being maybe the number two weapon in the offense.
I think they heavily lean on Devontas Smith.
And it's one of these guys where, like JSN last year, one of the best bets to be close
to the lead in Target share in the NFL.
Yeah, I am not going to disagree with anything there.
I mean, we're basically operating under the presumption over here at football guys that
AJ Brown is a patriot.
Like we're not even factoring him into Eagles projections right now because it seems like
it is a done deal.
like you said, all of the beat reporters are talking about,
Don Tavian Wicks being the wide receiver two,
the big plans for DeVontas Smith and how quick we are to forget.
You talk about him being the 10th overall pick.
He was also the Heisman winner.
And like there was so much buzz for Devontas Smith after his rookie season.
Then they traded for A.J. Brown.
And it's just kind of, I don't want to say disappointing,
but we've never really seen him live up to that pedigree that we had hoped for this year.
This to me, I think that there are so many people that have just seen Devont
Smith kind of turning in wide receiver two production year after year after year
after year and not taking that step into elite territory.
I think it's been five years now since he's been in the league and he keeps kind of giving
us that consistent wide receiver two production.
People are going to draft him like that this year.
And I think he could absolutely ascend into being a top five, top seven receiver.
Yeah, I'm excited about it.
I think it could be Devontas Smith season.
We'll unpack an AJ Brown sort of what he's going to do as a Patriot or maybe it's a
mystery team.
I'm sure the next time we podcast, we'll leave that one.
but Devonta Smith could end up being one of the biggest offseason winners in fantasy football.
Exciting times.
Dave, you've got a quarterback prediction as your final one here.
We got a couple of bonus ones in the tank.
But your official top 10 predictions here, you got a quarterback one.
Yeah, and this one, I don't even know how spicy it is anymore.
You know, a month ago, everyone was talking about Ty Simpson as a top 10 pick,
and we've just seen him slowly starting to fall down in mock drafts.
But I think Fernando Manoza is going to be the only quarterback.
drafted in round one this year.
And I think it's because when I look at these guys,
I don't see any huge sort of tier breaks here.
Like I think Ty Simpson isn't all that different from a Garrett Nussmeyer or maybe even
a Drew Aller if a coach is willing to put in a little bit extra time developing there.
So I don't see why any team would want to trade up into round one to get Ty Simpson.
None of the teams drafting it at the end of round one really need a quarterback.
So I think he's going to be one of those unfortunate fallers that we see every year,
whether it's Malik Willis or Willis.
I think people are expecting to see Ty Simpson go inside round one,
and I just don't see it happening.
I think Fernando Mendoza is worthy of the number one overall pick,
but I don't know, man,
Simpson doesn't really do it for me.
And then I see some other guys,
Taylin Green and Cole Payton that are maybe a little bit more toolsy
with a little bit more upside.
I just don't see anybody else going inside of round one,
which isn't what we want to see.
Like we wishcast these quarterbacks into round one every single year.
Sometimes it happens.
sometimes it doesn't.
I think Mendoza is really the only quarterback that will go in round one
and the only one that's going to have any sort of longevity in the NFL from this class.
I'm going to go not so fast, my friend, with a little shout out Lee Corso with my pushback here.
I'll say Ty Simpson does go inside a round one.
I think that the lack of buzz with a couple of teams,
there's a couple of lack of buzz with some of the quarterback needy teams surrounding Ty Simpson.
I think that there's interest in Cleveland.
I think there's probably interest in Pittsburgh,
and I think there's interest in New York,
even though we saw specifically beat reporters saying
the Jets are not interested in Ty Simpson,
I think somebody's leaking that one.
Jets have that early second round pick.
They could trade up into the first for him.
But I think ultimately,
the most logical destination will end up being the Ty Simpson destination.
And I think it's going to be the Arizona Cardinals.
And I think they're a team that's one of the teams
that's most likely to be.
Three.
No, not at three.
Not at three.
I think that there's going to be a trade up for Arizona
to get back in the first round.
to take him there, or they're going to trade back from three and then another chance to trade back.
I just think it's when you look at Arizona, what they've been able to assemble offensively.
They have the bridge quarterback with Jacoby Berset.
They have an elite player in Trey McBride, and they have wide receiver strength with Michael Wilson,
Marvin Harrison, Jr. Also, like, sort of the let's bet on the 2027 quarterback class.
I get it.
But I think depending on what they pay for Simpson, if he doesn't hit, they'll be right.
back at the table next to your drafting one. It's such a commodity that you need to hit on.
And when you look at Jacoby Brissette and Gardner Minchu, this team is sort of screaming for,
I need a young quarterback. So we're buttoned heads on this one. And hey, listen, 10 days from now,
two weeks from now, we'll be able to say who got this one right. This was so fun that we have a
couple of bonus takes for you now. Dave, why don't you get us started? You had an undrafted free agent
one, which is always super spicy. Yeah. And you know, you talked about there being like this year's
Woody Marks, you know, a day three pick.
I'm going to just take that up a spice level.
Like we're doing a deba bomb on hot ones right here.
I think there's going to be a UDFA running back that is going to be fantasy relevant this year.
We've already talked about it, like how weak this overall running back class is.
And I think that because of that, you're going to see these guys kind of make this push for this top seven.
And then after that, every single guy has major red flags.
But there are guys in this class who could end up going undrafted that could be serviceable in the NFL.
Seth McGowan is the first one that jumps out to be.
I think that he's a really good running back.
But given his age, you know, he's going to be 26 years old.
He might fall in the draft because of his draft and fall outside of the draft.
But I think the team can bring him in as a UDFA.
He's got the skill set to immediately be fantasy relevant if given the opportunity.
Levy on Moss, season-ending injuries and back-to-back years.
But if he can prove to be healthy, he has the skill set to be very good in the NFL.
I think he could fall because of those injury concerns.
I look at Desmond Reed, super twitched up, fun athlete,
but he's 5-6, and that could cause him to fall out of the draft as well.
Eli Haydenreich, he's starting to move up a little bit.
I was going to talk about him as a UDFA, but pretty confident he's getting drafted at this point.
Robert Henry, he played out of the AAC, so there's big questions about like, you know,
yeah, he did it at UTSA, can he do it in the NFL, could cause him to fall out of the draft.
There are a lot of good running backs that have major red flags this year.
So I don't think that a lot of teams are going to want to draft a 26-year-old or a 5-foot-6 guy
or a guy who played in the AAC,
but I'm confident that if these guys can get signed to a practice squad,
work their way through training camp,
we can see some UDFAs this year,
be fantasy relevant.
And to my knowledge,
I mean,
I think like James Robinson is the last time that we saw that.
But I think there's some guys in this class that could fit that bill.
Yeah,
it's always like,
it's always kind of going on a limb here.
James Robinson was the dream.
And that's the one we're going to keep chasing.
But yeah,
Stranger Things have happened.
You just mentioned a bunch of like,
fun names. I think that there's just kind of going down the list. There's also sort of a hive
for like Tarian Stewart. You mentioned Levian Moss. I think Moss is interesting. There's a number of
these guys. Hyden Reich. I mean, there was a huge, huge hive for hiding Reich right now. So yeah,
a very interesting take there. I'll give one more take here that I think the Pittsburgh Steelers
are going to take a quarterback. And I think it's probably around three quarterback. You look at Mike
McCarthy, the success he had with Dak Prescott, who was a fourth round,
pick. And he built this offense where
Dak Prescott was able to come in
and it's sort of a very accurate
passer as a rookie and thrive.
I think this is sort of the dream landing spot.
If you have hope for a guy
like Tailing Green, a guy like Cole
Peyton, I think you look at those third
round picks. Pittsburgh has three third round
picks. So I mentioned Ty Simpson for
them in the first round, but if they
like one of these guys and
they want to take them in the third round, they
could sort of treat one of their third round picks
as sort of a throwaway pick. And it's a development.
mental quarterback and you look at how open this quarterback room is whatever Aaron
Roger is going to do, Will Howard, and then maybe you have a tail and green, a Cole
Peyton type, maybe a Nussmeyer. There's going to be a quarterback.
I'm not a huge Drew Aller guy, but I can see it. I can see Carson Beck.
Either by, but you need some development, you know, keep him in Pennsylvania. That's the one
that I've been mocking in round three is Pittsburgh taking Drew Aller. And I think
Taylor and Green is going to go higher than people are projecting them because I think
the traits he brings to the table. Unbelievable,
athleticism and there's going to be, I mean, all it takes is one in the NFL and all it takes
is one front front office who says we can use this guy, we can create a pathway to having him
be our quarterback. He would be the really fun one for fantasy football because of just how fast
he is and how athletic he is. And then the final prediction is not even that bold at this point.
We are all going to be talking about post-NFL draft, how excited we are about this rookie
running back in Seattle. Seattle took Kenneth Walker in the second round. They took Zach Sharbonay
in the second round. I am rooting for.
for them to take Gendarium price.
I'm sure there's a running back you're rooting for them to get as well.
Maybe it's your guy, Mike Washington, but Seattle drafting a running back.
Which running back do you think ends up as Seattle Seahawk?
I think it's going to be Mike Washington.
Just if you look at the guys that they have gone after historically,
they don't shy away from spending premium draft capital there,
and they like these guys that are super athletic.
And also Mike Washington, there are some major flaws to his game.
Like, yeah, he's my RB2 because of the upside, but bad footwork.
You know, Matt Waldman, I don't know if he talked to you about it,
but he talks about this tendency that he has to like turn backwards into defenders.
Yes, he talks about that one.
And then goes down.
Yes, he's got the fumbling issues.
Like there are a lot of red flags with Mike Washington.
Kenneth Walker had a lot of red flags coming out of college.
Rashad Penny had red flags coming out of college.
We have seen that Seattle really wants to swing for these very athletic guys that have the upside.
They don't really care about the floor here.
So I think that would be a ton of fun.
And honestly, like, I don't know if they want to lean.
Sure, they can say right.
now this time of year like yeah we're very confident in Emmanuel Wilson and George
Halani but coming off a Super Bowl like you need a little bit more firepower in that backfield
than Emmanuel Wilson and George Hollani.
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah, it's going to be a rookie running back leading the room and we're probably going to be
ranking a rookie running back in Seattle as like the RB 19 or 20 in week one when we're doing
our weekly rankings.
Dave, this is a lot of fun.
Let everybody know once again where people can find your work.
Yeah, everything's over at football guys.com.
You can find me on Twitter at Dave Kluge.
And then YouTube.com slash football guys fantasy to see all the content that we got coming out there.
Yeah, and make sure you check out Fantasy Points Dynasty YouTube.
Again, Matt Waldman joined me on Dynasty Life.
Have a lot of cool stuff planned for that channel as well.
Drop the School of Scott episode with Scott Barrett, Derek Brown, and I did a rookie mock draft,
our final rookie mock draft before the actual NFL draft.
Brett Whitefield and I just did a two-round NFL mock draft with Cody Carpenter.
We're going to be doing a lot of YouTube content right before the start of the NFL draft.
NFL draft. And of course, Fantasy Points is your home for the first day one, day two,
and day three. We're covering it all. We're going to be also dropping extra episodes of fantasy
football daily. We're everywhere here at Fantasy Points. We're going to help you crush your
