Week six, fantasy football, start, sit decisions.
Who should be in your flex?
Who should be on your benches?
Theo Greminger and Graham Barfield on Fantasy Football Daily on the Fantasy Points
Podcast Network every single week.
Graham, we had the big Jacori Kroski Merritt breakout week that we've all been waiting
for.
He was unbelievable.
Two touchdowns.
Also was impressive as a receiver.
Two receptions for nearly 40 yards.
Is Jacori Krosky Merritt in our line?
up with confidence every single week moving forward.
And are you cramming them in no matter what in week six?
We were just a little early, man.
We've been talking about JCM for a few weeks now, just saying, hey, like, this guy is
clearly their most talented player.
It was just so annoying, though, that they kept playing Chris Rodriguez.
They kept playing Jeremy McNichols.
And like you said, they finally just ditch that last week.
And still not getting, like, anywhere close to a bell cow workload, but I don't really
think that matters in this backfield just because Washington is going to have so many
scoring opportunities for the rest of the year.
Played on 51% of the snaps,
took 14 other 20 RB handoffs.
Rodriguez still played on
quite a few short yarder situations,
inside the 10 especially, which is not
ideal, but I don't know, man.
I think they finally, like the White Bowl moment
finally came on.
Kroski Merritt got the, you know,
huge role that we kind of wanted a few weeks
ago after the Echler injury. And I mean, this
week, man, it's just like ideal matchup.
Chicago is the worst run defense in the league
by a significant margin.
Yeah, I think there's certainly like, you know, he's a really good RB2 this week.
I still question like the long term upside here, just because I'm not sure how much he's
going to plan passing downs.
Jane Daniels will probably mix in quite a bit near the goal line.
But yeah, I mean, he's like really good RB2 this week, probably like a weekly flex play.
And, you know, I mean, there's certainly a high floor here.
You know, unless they go back to the Chris Rodriguez-German McNichols experience.
Yeah, I don't see them doing that.
And last week we saw the, like the coach speak where they talked about the committee.
They talked about going with a hot hand.
I think that was a complete lie and they're just trying to throw people off.
Jaden Daniels returns and we see Jacori Kroski Merritt also cooking.
JCP next to Daniels.
He's going to concede some touchdowns, but also with his explosive running style,
it's going to open up some big lanes for him because of the threat of Daniels as a runner.
So it's sort of a give and a take playing next to Daniels.
but it's really way more give.
And unlike some of these other situations where, hey, we maybe jump the gun a little bit
with guys like Woody Marks, where we were like super confident that the coaching staff
wouldn't go back to somebody dusty.
It's not like Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols are Nick Chubb and they have like the
gravitational pull of like, let's get this guy touches.
Those guys are journeymen themselves and also older ones than Kroski Merritt.
So, yeah, I mean, a lot of stolen Jacori Kroski Merritt Valor out there in the space gram.
We've been talking them up since June.
So we predicted this thing.
We're a couple of weeks early, but we will take it the rest of the season.
And I think Jacorri Krosky Merit, somewhere in that 14 point per game range, rest of the way, mid-RB2 numbers with upside to give you big, big scoring weeks.
Really, really a fun one.
Let's keep this going.
Last week, another big storyline was Michael Carter.
the yards per carry were uninspiring, but he also contributed as a pass catcher, and the volume was really sound.
You also factor in Amari Di Mercado in the doghouse, obviously.
I mean, they find Jonathan Gannon a significant amount of money for the off the field, you know, talking down slash whatever.
DeMercardo is not going to get the rock too often this weekend.
what is your confidence level in Michael Carter?
Can he do it again?
Can he deliver another locked-in RB2 week for fantasy managers?
Yeah, my confidence level was pretty high with Carter, to be honest.
I mean, like you said, you know, DeMarcato after, you know, his blunder last week, you know,
he's not going to see the field.
I'm kind of with you on that.
We might see a little more band night, if anything.
But yeah, Carter led this backfield in snaps last week, 59 percent, took the overwhelming
majority of their carries. But the most surprising thing to me, Theo, is like, DeMarcato is a secondary
thought on passing downs. Carter led them in routes, led them in targets. He had 15 routes,
five targets. DeMarcato didn't have a target on any of his nine routes. And you can run on the
Colts. Like this week is a pretty good matchup. Colts giving up the ninth most yards per carry.
Cardinals are big dogs here. But like I said, you know, he's got this pretty decent passing down
role, which is the surprise to me. Like I kind of expected this to get a, you know, be some sort of
sort of compartmentalized split where Carter is like, you know, clearly they're early down guy,
but, you know, he probably is going to lose out to Di Mercado. And I'm like, no, no, no, that's not
it at all. This dude's like actually kind of got like workhorseish upside. So yeah, I mean,
Cardinals are going to be pretty balanced. I think for the rest of the season, they've been trying
to get this run game going. Carter's a pretty good play for rest of year. Yeah, and it was, it was very
interesting the Jonathan Gannon incident on the sideline. It's now led to a hundred thousand
thousand dollar fine. I think it sort of speaks volumes to Arizona. They don't really care about
Jonathan Gannon. I think it's sort of when you're finding him for 100 grand, it's sort of like,
I think Gannon might be looking for another job end of the season unless Arizona runs really hot.
A lot of polarizing takes both ways with how Gannon handled himself on the sideline. For me,
it would just seem completely out of character for Gannon. It's like if you saw a Dan Campbell or a Bill
Belichick or a Mike Tomlin really ripping into a guy, you'd be like, oh, this is genuine.
I don't know.
With Gannon, it just didn't, it didn't feel normal either.
The whole thing was just completely weird.
But I think the main takeaway is, DeMercato, the main threat was the pass catching.
And I think that now that Michael Carter has that lockdown, even if you, like you said,
Bam Knight gets mixed in more, Carter getting the work as a pass catcher out of the backfield
sort of gives him a little bit of a floor.
and he showed last week, even in a lower yards per carry type performance, they weren't mixing in other backs.
They were giving him, you know, double-digit carry.
So I think we can safely bet on him getting 15 touches or more, maybe 20 touches this week.
So stranger things have happened, but it looks like Michael Carter's season is going to continue.
Just temper your expectations.
I think 18 points like last week might be a little bit to ask for.
But I think 12, 13 points, something like that.
Let's switch over and let's talk about a wide receiver.
Let's talk about Rashid Shaheed, who you have listed as a flex this week, Graham.
Yeah, really good play.
Almost wanted to list him as a start, but he's not like a top 30 receiver this week.
Like right on the fringe, we like the match up quite a bit for Shaheed last week,
noted that, you know, Giants last week played a ton of man coverage.
This season, Shaheed is just shredding man coverage, leads the Saints in targets per route run,
leads them in yards per route run versus man coverage.
in the Patriots, while they don't play as much man as the Giants do Theo, they still play the ninth most at 32%.
Obviously, another spot this week where the Saints are going to have to be up in pace, big dogs against the Patriots this week.
They're going to, you know, they've been the fastest team in the NFL by seconds in between snaps and also just run into a ton of plays.
It's just kind of what Kellan Moore does offensively, just wants to, you know, play up tempo.
And yeah, I'm liking it for Shaheed this week.
Obviously, you know, Alave is in your lineup no matter what, but I mean,
Shaheed is still clearly a premier deep threat.
And like I said, just gets this like ideal plus matchup.
He's a really good wide receiver three this week.
Yeah, we've talked glowingly about Kellyn Moore.
He's sort of making the best of sort of an ugly situation for fantasy managers.
I love your Shaheed enthusiasm this week.
And with Shaheed, all it takes is one big one, which is sort of in the back of your mind,
even if it's a slow start, he can rip off.
a really long touchdown catch, sort of at any moment.
Why don't you also talk about Chris Alave a little bit?
Scott Barrett and I recorded School of Scott,
and we talked about how Alave is sort of a screaming,
screaming by low right now.
We have him ranked at wide receiver 14 right now, Graham.
It seems like with his metrics,
all of the analytics are basically telling us that Chris
Alave is due for some very, very big weeks.
Your enthusiasm level for him sort of moving forward.
forward. Yeah, I don't, I kind of disagree. I think Olave is not a by low. I think he's like just kind of
going to be let down by this offense for the majority of the year. Like yeah, she had wide receiver
three, Olave, pretty good wide receiver two. And he's just going to continue to get, you know,
these 10, 11, 12 targets because like we said, the saints are, you know, just ripping off so many
plays. The big difference with Olave this year is his average depth of target is much lower. He's just
getting a lot of like shallower routes. And it's not that like in PPR leagues, those,
you know, points still matter. But I think it's just kind of hurt his upside a little bit.
I think he's, you know, priced correctly. I think he's a fine wide receiver two. But yeah,
for the volume that he's getting, like I still think he's probably just trapped in this like,
you know, wide receiver two, top 24, purgatory. I don't, I don't see the upside, you know,
unless Spencer Rattler just takes like a humongous step forward or they really start using a
Lave more downfield. But right now, that's a little bit more Shaheed.
Yeah, and if you're watching this on YouTube, let us know in the comments. Are you on Team
Graham or Team Scott here with Alave? Is Alave a good player that's going to break out and you
should be buying low on? Or is he sort of priced as he is? Let us know in the comments.
One player who was very disappointing Graham last week, despite Brock Bowers being out,
sort of a low output from Jacoby Myers, really a very disappointing game from the Raiders.
The Raiders offense is sort of stuck in the mud here.
Is Jacobi Myers in our lineups this week as a flex play?
Yeah, Gino is about to get benched.
I think if he keeps this up, like it's going to be midseason benching for Gino.
We'll get a look at Kenny Pickett.
Aiden O'Connell broke his wrist in the preseason.
Doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun for Raiders or Brock Bowers or really anybody here.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know if I see Gino pulling it together because like his turnover worthy throw rate is still forced the NFL.
I mean, the guy is just not seeing the field well at all.
Myers only has eight catches for 62 yards over the last two weeks, but I do think this is a pretty good bounce back spot.
Titans just play so much zone coverage. Myers leads the Raiders and targets per outrun, yards per outrun versus zone.
He's been way worse against man.
And I think that's really just a Gino thing.
Gino, like I said, not seeing the field very well.
struggling against man cover, struggling to beat corners.
Against Zone, kind of gets some predefined reeds.
I think Jacoby bounces back this week.
You know, it's just been rough, dude.
This offense is just really, really rough because Gino's been pretty egregiously bad.
The good news is Titans don't have the best pass rush either.
You know, they're not really getting after the quarterback, bottom five, and pressure rate.
So maybe this is a pretty good bounce back week for just this passing offense in general.
Yeah, sort of an inspired comeback from the Tennessee Titans last week.
Vegas, it's a weird situation because Gino, they gave 66.5 million guaranteed.
So it's really sort of them getting away from him.
It's a weird one, Graham, because they're going to be stuck with a big financial commitment.
Your quick thoughts on Calvin Ridley, because he's another player that Scott, I think, seemed to be on for this particular game.
I know we didn't have him on the show sheet, but we mentioned Tennessee.
Your thoughts on Ridley.
Last week was a very, very impressive performance for him.
We have him ranked at wide receiver 39 in our projections.
If you want access to our projections, and right now we have the best projections of any site.

Graham, but your thoughts on Calvin Ridley,
do you think that our ranking of him is a little too low or about right?
I think it's about right.
I think he's a decent buy right now, actually, though.
Like, I was just dead wrong.
I thought Ridley was kind of dusty, struggling through a few injuries,
and he looked completely healthy to my eye.
Clearly the best game he's had all year last week.
And, you know, the Raiders just basically play like zero man coverage.
they're going to be dropping back into their zones all game long.
They're only playing man at like 8% of the time.
This game has like some sneaky gross shootout potential, I think.
But yeah, I mean, it's a pretty decent spot for Ridley.
He leads this team and targets for outrun against zone coverage by a significant margin over
Elyomanner.
Iommander's kind of been a little bit more of their man-beater.
Ridley, you know, certainly not totally dust yet.
I can't trust them more than like a wide receiver three.
I'll be writing him up as a flex play and start a sit on the site this week.
Yeah, it seems like a flex play as well.
And I think he did look rejuvenated so you can get him off of your benches, put him in there.
I think somewhere in that mid wide receiver three line.
But with Ridley, we get the, there's going to be moments where in any single close game,
crucial situation, it's a little bit of tunnel vision potential from Cam Ward.
Cam Ward looked really, really excited on a couple of those big completions to Ridley.
And he showed a lot of confidence in his arm.
Really, really a nice chemistry displayed between the two of them that we were sort of banking on in the preseason.
Let's take a quick break.
We come back.
We're talking about two players you should be sitting this week right after this.
All right, welcome back.
Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger with Graham Barfield.
Graham, let's talk about the Detroit Lions because this is a weird one.
Jamison Williams, are we going to see a bounce back week this week?
Your confidence level in Jamo, really, really a tough one.
I was on Jameson Williams this preseason.
Right now I'm taking a major, major L.
I would love to have his usage be flipped around with Rashid Shahid,
and we were drafting him rounds and rounds earlier.
Is this the week for James Williams managers to get a bailout?
Yeah, this was my concern with Jamo is like,
Amon Ra was still clearly the wide receiver won.
And even if you bake in some role progression with Jamo,
it's still St. Brown, like, clearly Gough's guy and Leporta getting healthier.
Like, I like Jamo for best ball.
But yeah, his price, like, just, I don't know, fifth round, it was tricky.
I didn't see this coming, though.
Like, he's just not involved in this offense, like, at all.
It's kind of bizarre.
like they're he's strictly just kind of a deep threat and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me you know i
i'm not smart enough to run an offense i'm not john morton but you know jamo last year looked great on
those kind of like crossing patterns horizontally breaking routes was getting open on them
and that's just kind of like not really been their thing with him this year he's really just kind of
running clearouts and this is like a worst possible matchup for him uh williams is last on the
Lions and targets per route run versus too high. Kansas City is playing the third most too high
coverage. And I'm also a little concerned about Goff. It's not just like, I don't care about the
home road splits. It's really Goff is like an underdog has been the big signal. He's averaging just
14 fantasy points per game as an underdog with the Lions and the Chiefs are have been like,
not great, but pretty good in the secondary. Trent McDuffie's having an all pro type season.
Chiefs allowing the fourth viewest passing fantasy points per drop pack. So it's a little bit of like
two-fold thing, just not totally feeling it with Goff this week. And, dude, I can't explain the lack of
JMO usage. Like, I was like kind of equal weight in terms of like, you know, ranking versus ADP.
I did not see this, this kind of just like completely falling out of the offense type usage
coming here. I don't really know what to make of it. Do you see things improving at all?
Because I think this is like, dude, one target, one target last week. I mean, what are we doing?
Yeah. Well, we, we've, we've, we've, we've, Khalif Raymond's injured now, uh, which could
be a good thing. I don't know. It's just another body sort of out of there. But the problem is now
Tesla is also going to play more, another threat for touchdowns. I think Jameson Williams will
see some spike weeks. He's too talented a player. We've seen it last year. We've seen it in big moments
where Jameson Williams can take it to the house from pretty much anywhere on the field. The problem is
it's going to be very frustrating for fantasy managers because Jameson's probably going to be on your
bench during the spike weeks.
It's just a really weird situation.
And Graham, when you factor in just how much hype there was in the preseason,
from the beat reporters and also from just about everybody.
Like Brett Whitefield was at Lyons training camp and was talking about how they're moving
around the field, they're using them in different ways.
We just haven't really seen that.
Amon Ross St. Brown has been a major winner from where you draft him at ADP.
Jameson Williams, a major, major loser.
And I don't know.
I think that he'll end up having some big spike weeks.
He's a talented, explosive player.
But I don't think there's going to be any sort of consistency.
So the lesson learned is if we hear John Morton hyping somebody next preseason,
we need to like take it with a grain of salt and just draft away.
But very, very frustrating.
So we're going to sit Jared Gough.
We're going to sit Jameson Williams in that big game against Kansas City.
golf, it's pretty simple.
At home games and indoor games,
Jared Goff is usually a player we can bank on,
giving us a startable number.
When he's in a hard, difficult,
away circumstances like Kansas City on the road,
we're probably going to lean towards benching him
for better or for worse.
It's a pretty simple rule.
Let's stay in the NFC North, though.
A quarterback who fantasy managers need to be getting
in their lineups this week is Jordan Love.
Yeah, love is always kind of tricky
because he's basically like perennally the QB12, QB14, like in scoring.
But I see some hidden upside, not just this week, but like rest of season.
Just playing in an extremely high level.
Packers are obviously, you know, pretty balanced.
LaFleur likes to play with a lot of balance.
They always play pretty slow.
But Love is just like an efficiency machine.
I mean, he's once again, you know, just crushing by touchdown rate,
having a career best 6.6% touchdown rate.
His YPA is also at a career best at 8.3.
He's just gotten better each year by his efficiency metrics.
I wish, you know, the Bengals, like I had any confidence in them pushing here.
I mean, Joe Flacco is going to be in hell against the Packers Front 7 this week behind that Bengals' offensive line.
But, yeah, this is just like an ideal spot.
Only Dallas and Baltimore are allowing more passing fantasy points per game than Cincinnati.
Maddie and the Bengals can't pressure the quarterback, second lowest pressure rate in the NFL.
So Love is just going to have a ton of clean pockets just to crush them.
My only concern in this game is, like I said, though, like, you know, Bengals just not showing up and not really pushing the Packers too much.
But even if Flacco is like 10 to 15 percent better than Browning Man, I mean, I think that's like a big enough upgrade to the point where like maybe this is a, you know, relatively close two score game.
This is what I said to Scott that I'm actually kind of excited that they got Joe Furfell.
Flacco, it's sort of a, I think there'll be a little bit more consistency with Chase and we're
going to see Flacco. This is Flacco's last opportunity to be a starter in the NFL, probably.
I mean, the guy just won't go away. Maybe someone next year, their quarterback gets injured and they
give Joe Flacco a call. But it seems like you're going to see him hyper-targeting Jamar Chase.
You also have Flacco with a tendency throughout his career to be a checkdown guy.
So maybe we can have like sort of a, we can have like a PPR.
benefit to Chase Brown, and he gets a little bit of a bailout with like a bunch of five and six
catch type games. Chase Brown, we were both very, very low on, but there's potential bail out there.
So I'm with you, 15% better sounds pretty, pretty good. I also think Zach Taylor, there's a ton of
pressure on Taylor to at least win a little bit, make this competitive. I think that's another reason
that Flacco is being sort of embraced with open arms here. Jake Browning was absolutely awful.
So yeah, go Joe Flacco and absolutely starting Jordan Love.
You bring up the controlling the Bengals.
I think when it comes to Cincinnati, though,
teams feel like they need to really, really put it on them
because of the threat of Chase, because of the threat of Higgins.
And the Bengals have the ability because of those two players to score very, very quickly
that I don't think they take the foot off the gas unless it's like 28-0.
It's something absurd.
I don't think they take the foot off the gas.
and risk being giving up a comeback.
And this year we've seen all sorts of double-digit comeback victories, Graham.
It's really, really wild how often those are occurring.
So, yeah, we're starting Jordan Love with confidence.
Big, big win from the Denver Broncos last week.
Really awesome stuff going into Philadelphia, getting the win.
This was what Denver was looking for, a signature win.
This is a team that we were very, very bullish on in the preseason.
it seems like this could be a start of a run.
This week they play the New York Jets over in England.
And then next week they get the Giants coming into Denver
before a big matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at the end of October.
So a chance to really get things going here with back-to-back games against the New York teams.
Jets can't beat anybody right now.
Is Bo Nix a player that we need to be cramming into our lineups as well?
Yeah, if you remember last week, we were talking about how this is not the best spot for Nix,
and he only finished is QB20, so we were right on that one. But this is an ideal, like perfect
spot for Nicks and Broncos. Like you said, I mean, the Jets are just really struggling. The secondary
isn't good. Only the Bears are giving up more passing fantasy points per dropback than the Jets.
And their pressure is just like they, their front seven is pretty much useless. I mean,
Quinn and Williams is having a really down year. Our only pressureing,
the quarterback on 28% of the opponent's dropbacks is by far the lowest rate in the league.
I'm back in on Knicks big time this week.
Love this matchup for Cortland Sutton, too.
Jets are playing a ton of man coverage with sauce.
And Sutton is just shredding man coverage, like top five in targets per outrun,
top five in yards per outrun against man.
So any week that we're loving Sutton,
going to like Knicks a little bit more.
Yeah, even though Nix is kind of like, he's taking a little bit of a step back
compared to his rookie season in terms of, you know,
his base efficiency metrics.
Like you said, the Broncos are like two, one score games away from being five and
O.
They lost a heartbreaker against the Colts in week two, lost another heartbreaker on a late
field goal against the Chargers in week three.
So, I mean, Denver is like, I'm with you.
I think they're going to go on a late midseason run here.
And, you know, a lot of that will be, you know, kind of fueled by, you know,
Knicks and this run game.
I mean, J.K. Dobbins has just been awesome to see.
I was so wrong about Dobbins this year, man.
Like I thought it would be RJ Harvey season,
but Dobbins is like clearly still one of the 10 most talented running backs in the week.
Yeah, Dobbins is in a great spot.
Dobbins, I think it's a locked in high end RB2 rest of the way.
Unless he breaks down,
that's sort of the window of opportunity for RJ Harvey.
But I love the Broncos right now because it's so easy to predict them.
Cortland Sutton is one of the most underrated wide receivers in Fantasy Graham.
had the one very low scoring week, but every other week, four out of five games, he's had 17 points
or more. He's actually trending towards having a better season than he did in 2024, absolutely
wild. J.K. Dobbins, trending towards having a better season than he had in 2024, his big
comeback season. So, yeah, just beat the two New York teams. And then we get that shootout environment
against Dallas, a Dallas defense that's letting everybody score. So, yeah, it's going to be a good
couple of weeks if you have Cortland Sutton, a good couple of weeks if you have J.K. Dobbins and Boe Nix,
I mean, I'm looking at potentially three starts with that schedule upcoming Graham, are really
exciting, exciting stuff. Let's talk about the tight ends, Darren Waller. And I sort of threw
some shots at Mike Clay yesterday on School of Scott sort of unexpectedly because Clay has Darren
Waller really low. And I'm like, what are we watching here? Darren Waller to me looks like a top five
tight end play this week.
Three touchdown grabs in
the last two games combined.
And we've now seen what Miami
wants to do without Tyree Kill.
And it's featuring a lot of Darren Waller.
Darren Waller looks like New York Giants fans
wanted him to look like a few years back
when the Giants made that big trade for him.
He looks completely rejuvenated.
I realized that Waller could break down at any moment.
He's older.
The injury history has not been kind.
But for,
right now, just how enthusiastic are you about Waller?
What is his tight end points per game finish going to be for as many games as he
plays this year? I mean, I'm saying something super high. Yeah, I pushed him up into the top
12. I think tied end 11 is where I have them in the rest of season rankings on fantasy points
right now. Yeah, Titan 11. I could go higher. I could go tied in nine, maybe tied in eight.
And it's a twofold thing. It's one like tight end is so weak this year, man. Like,
I mean, it's really just like Tyler Warren, Jake Ferguson, Trey McBride, maybe Brock Bowers when he gets back healthy, maybe George Kittle.
And then we just have this like huge tier of like five through 18.
I'm pushing Waller up.
I moved him up pretty big last week, not enough.
This week I'm just going to push him up even more.
I'm with you.
I think he's a really good play rest of season.
Yeah, of course he could break down at any point.
But this is like ideal usage.
Waller has always been.
a receiver first, not a tight end. Mike McDaniel is just using him exactly correctly.
70% of his routes have been lined up out wider in the slot. He's just getting very, very little
inline tight-in usage. And yeah, this is a tougher matchup. Chargers have been tough against
tight ends this year. But, yeah, I mean, he's just getting high, like these high leverage routes.
And now, you know, with Tyreek Hill injured, that's what's really cleared the way for him and
Waddle. Waddle just got a massive, like 35% of the first READD. He's based.
basically like must start rest of way. But yeah, I see the same thing as you do with Waller.
Like he'll probably never be a full-time player. Like they're probably going to like take it a little
easy on him. I mean, he only ran around on 65% of the dropbacks last week. But when he's on the
field, like he's going to be running these high leverage routes, especially in the red zone.
I'm with you. I think he's like at worst, at worst tied in 12 this week. And I could make a case like
you said for him being closer to top five. The targets per route run are going to be really, really
good for Waller. I like that they're not trying to make him be some sort of an every down player.
And we've seen sort of history repeating itself. What can Tuatung Vailoa do? Tua wants to get the
ball out quickly. We want to utilize guys low a dot looks. We saw Johnny Smith thrive last season have
his big career year. Mike McDaniel might be like a low key veteran tight end whisperer Graham.
That might be sort of the MO for McDaniel. So we're rooting for Darren Waller. We talked about a really old
tight end. Let's talk about a really young one.
21-year-old Mason Taylor.
The Jets are interesting because Garrett Wilson's been awesome.
Brees Hall really, really looking good.
And now we have a third player that we want to get in our starting lineups.
Mason Taylor has 14 catches over the last two weeks.
When we talk about Taylor, we're talking about a early second round draft pick,
21 years old out of LSU.
And it seems like the Jets really, really want to make him a thing.
And when you look at the lack of wide receiver target competition outside of Wilson for Mason Taylor the tight end, he sort of shapes up to be the Jets' second most targeted player probably for the rest of the season, Graham.
Yeah, this is the upside that I saw in the preseason.
Taylor was an awesome prospect.
I have this like quote, I remember watching the ESPN broadcast during the draft and Nick Sabin was like,
if I could have any recruit back in the last like five years, it would have been Mason Taylor.
We loved him, but he went to LSU.
Like we were really close to getting this guy.
And like, Saban is just like an all-time ballmower.
And he was just right.
Like Taylor, Taylor's freaking awesome, man.
Like last three weeks, only Jake Ferguson and Tray McBride have a higher target share than
Mason Taylor.
He's getting this like bell cow tied in usage as well.
He's run a route on at least 80% of the Jets plays in three of his five games.
He ran a season high, 82%.
last week.
Same thing with Darren Waller.
I've just kept pushing him higher and higher.
If he's now top 12 in our rest of season rankings over Travis Kelsey,
well over T.J. Hawkinson,
over Juan Johnson, over Zach Hertz, Mark Andrews.
Yeah, I don't trust Justin Fields throwing a ball.
My whole basis of Justin Fields this year was just him running
and being an elite scrambler, and that's so far been right.
But a lot of that production has come in garbage time.
Good news this week.
they're probably going to get smashed by the Broncos.
So it's going to be more garbage time, Fields, Taylor, Wilson.
And like you said, I mean, dude, the Jets just have nothing at their secondary receiver spots.
So I'm seeing it for Taylor, man.
For sure, for sure.
Graham, quick question.
You know, and I'll give a, this is we'll go way off topic here because I just spent all day long doing a big dynasty rankings update.
If you're a fantasy point subscriber, we have a big tight end premium dynasty rankings update dropping.
Question, a couple of guys that I had trouble ranking head to head in dynasty specifically,
Mason Taylor or Harold Fanon Jr.
Oh, Taylor.
Unless In Joku gets traded, you've been saying this.
Like, I think these two are just kind of kind of eat into each other.
Fanon's a great player, though, but Taylor just got like elite run out.
Yeah.
So for me, it's, I kind of go back and forth on this one.
Because Fanon, I think the profile is this classic move tight-end.
and I think that there's a chance that I do think there's a very good chance that
Njoku is on another team in 2026.
But I think when you factor in what we're going to see from Taylor in 2025 this season,
I think it's probably Taylor right now.
Here's another one for you because we could see the big breakout this week.
This might look like a very dated conversation.
Colston Loveland or Mason Taylor based on what you've seen usage-wise and this two-week sample
size. Yeah, bro. I've been thinking about this too. Like, I kind of think it's Taylor. I think we need to be
quick to kind of respond to what we've seen. Loveland is hurt, obviously. He has a hip injury,
so we don't want to ding him too much. He did, like, immediately get more involved and then he got
hurt in their last game. But, I mean, Taylor is the all-time leader at LSU for tight ends and
receptions yards. He did it well before he turned 20. Like, he was an awesome.
prospect. Dude's only 21 years old.
Yeah. And he's out here just bawling.
I mean, just crushing underneath zones.
It's exactly what you want to see from a player like him, full-time usage.
Like, I kind of lean towards Taylor right now.
And maybe out of the by, do you think out of the buy they play Loveland more?
I think that's like, I do.
I mean, I'm really, I think I'm kind of hope casting it, but I'm hoping that we see a lot
of Loveland. It sounds like there's a great route runner, man.
Like that's why Ben Johnson just love.
his kind of, you know, quick, quick release route runners.
But, dude, Taylor's just, he's crushing him.
He looks so good.
Taylor looks amazing.
And I think that if, if we would have seen Colston Loveland put up 14 catches over the last
two weeks, people would have been talking about moving.
Yeah.
People would say, like, this is the tight end three.
Let's put him ahead of, of like, you know, put him up there with McBride and the
dynasty ranking.
So, yeah, Mason Taylor, also his dad was a stud NFL player, Jason Taylor,
our defensive end for the, for the dolphins. Mason Taylor, a very, very fast riser.
Make sure you go check out our dynasty rankings over at fantasy points.com.
Use the code Theo.
Let's take one more break.
And we come back.
We're going to rapid fire your questions.
We're going to take a bunch of them, Graham.
Let's try to get through them right after this.
All right.
Welcome back.
Graham, let's get right into it.
We're going to go with these are questions every single week.
I'm putting a post up on X.
Graham's usually retweeting that one.
My handle on X is at the OG fantasy.
And we're putting these up there.
And there's been some very interesting, challenging ones.
Let's get it started.
Shout out to Bruce, very, very active fantasy point sub.
Watches a lot of comments on YouTube, big FFPC player.
Bruce says, Trayvion Henderson or Michael Carter, PPR, your thoughts on this one.
I think I'm going Carter here.
I hate saying it makes me sick to my stomach.
Yeah, it makes me sick to my stomach, too.
I want to throw up right now.
but it's definitely Michael Carter.
And like by a margin,
like Trey Henderson,
maybe,
maybe he'll get more usage
after Antonio Gibson hurt his knee.
But like,
this coaching staff just loves Stevenson,
man.
Yeah, I think it's,
and Stevenson,
despite the fumbles,
keeps getting the rock.
They love them,
you know,
what are you going to do?
Let's keep it going.
This is a PPR league.
This person is named,
FLI,
fly reply guy over on X,
says,
He needs to start one.
Rashad White versus the 49ers.
Teteroa McMillan versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Rico Dowdell versus the Dallas Cowboys.
This is what we call a champagne problem.
I like all three of these starts.
Where are you at on this one?
So White McMillan and Dowdell.
Man.
I lean towards White, but this feels like one where like they're all project very similarly.
fly reply guy.
You're just going to get it wrong.
But I lean towards White, just slightly better offense compared to Carolina with Tampa.
But what do you think, man?
I might ride Rico Dowdell on the heater here.
I know that McMillan is probably the cleanest answer.
He's the player that we were most confident with in the preseason.
The other two are benefiting from injuries.
But Rico Dowdell in a revenge game after a 200-yarder,
I think I'm going to do whatever I can to keep them in my lineups.
Here's a non-PPR question.
Theo Johnson, Mason Taylor, or Harold Fanon Jr.
And this is from Tony McMillan.
And Tony McMillan wants us to know that he has Bowers.
So these are all waiver-wire type guys for him, non-PPR, Fanon, Johnson, Mason, Taylor.
Yeah, I've got Taylor on all of my Bowers team.
So I'll just lean towards that.
but I think Theo Johnson is certainly in play this week
because a pretty good streamer.
You know, obviously Giants have just been wrecked by injuries.
Deris Slatens out.
Like, neighbors obviously on IRR.
Wondell Robinson has an impossible matchup
in the slot this week against the Eagles.
So I do like Theo Johnson a little bit this week,
but I'm leaning towards Taylor.
Yeah, we try to avoid the Thursday night ones
because this game, this usually comes out afterwards.
But yeah, I'm with you on that one.
Let's go with, this is a ugly one,
but it's a 14 team league and it's half point PPR.
Tyquan Thornton, who played really well once again,
now is a really big game again against Detroit this week,
or Hassan Haskins, who it's Kamani Vidal or Haskins,
sort of pick your fighter and who gets the touches with Omari and Hampton out,
half point PPR, Haskins, or Thornton.
I'd lean towards Thornton, just the big play upside.
We don't know what the Chargers are going to do with their backfield,
but we did see last week, Kamani and Vidal did have like a slightly better role by expected fantasy points.
It was a very marginal role.
I want to actually talk to you about this real quick.
Do you think, I mean, they've lost Joel, who will hopefully be back by midseason.
Slater's out for the rest of the year.
Like they've lost their entire offensive line.
Now they've lost their run game.
Like this to me like is just going to be all Justin Herbert dropback season like 40 per game.
I've been bumping Herbert down slightly in our rest of season stuff just because they've lost so many guys.
but what do you think of this Chargers offense moving forward with Nohampton?
Yeah, there's a little bit of a bailout potential because of the schedule.
There's a couple of plus matchups.
I think that it's, yeah, part of the reason, like when I first reacted to this one,
I was with Joe Dolan and Tom Brawley on this show.
And I've sort of flipped the script here.
I think it's going to be Haskins.
He's going to get a chance at touting the Rock early.
But I think Vidal is going to have a little bit more value.
because of his like-for-like nature as a pass catcher,
where he can emulate some of the Hampton pass-catching ability
a little bit more than Haskins,
who's a little bit more of a grinder.
So I think it's Vidal.
Yeah, I think you have to adjust your chargers.
The chargers, the whole Justin Herbert's going to be the MVP.
The offensive line is the great equalizer,
and it's not like you said some, like, bum offensive linemen.
Even people who are not, like, offensive line stands,
know who Joe Alt is and Slater is.
it's like these are huge pro bowl level players that they and they're also making a switch at center this week, I believe in LA. They're going back to Andre James. So there's a lot of shuffling on this offensive line. And I will say that the Chargers fans didn't seem to be too excited about the change at center either. There's not a whole lot of enthusiasm level for any of these players. So I think we need to temper our expectations. I think that there is a chance that we see this best. And
benefiting the past catchers in LA just because there's going to be more target volume
potentially and predictable expected target volume.
But yeah, we got to temper our expectations a little bit with L.A.
And it could also be chapters to this where I do think Harbaugh and Roman are good enough
coaches to sort of get by despite the loss to Washington.
And once they get a little healthy on the offensive line, maybe we see things shift
over the tail end of the season heading into the fantasy playoff.
So, yeah, Justin Herbert got a lower expectations after sort of the fever pitch of even two weeks ago, Graham, we were so hyped.
But we have to roll with it.
We have to be realistic with things.
Let's keep these going.
PPR, Travis Hunter or Trey Tucker?
Tucker.
I, you know, with Brock Bowers out, like they've got, it's just him and Myers, really.
That's it.
Yeah, I got to go Trey Tucker as well.
I wish Travis Hunter, there is a chance that with the Brenton Strange engine.
because of like Brenton Strange was like a 15% target guy, like a 15% first read guy, low ADOT.
Maybe they find a few more low AD looks for Travis Hunter to sort of emulate it.
But it's sort of wishful galaxy brain thinking by me.
I think just the fact that we have to see Travis Hunter on defense as well, it's a little
depressing for us.
Shout out to the IDP crowd.
I know you guys love that stuff, but we don't love it.
So I'm going, Trey Tucker.
let's keep this going a couple more questions.
Gosh, some of these are really long.
Let's go half point PPR.
And this is from MF Doom, RIP,
half point PPR, Travis ETN,
J.K. Dobbins, Michael Carter or Tony Pollard.
A couple of good options in there.
I just keep riding ETIN, honestly.
I'm ETN too.
Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning.
I mean, Seahawks have played pretty good run defense this season,
but I mean, he's just this role.
is so good for him.
Question from Pete Scherzer.
Should I play newly picked up Kendrick Bourne or Jameson Williams?
And I know you don't have the full injury storyline, but let's say guys do end up missing
for San Francisco this week, Graham.
And you have Kendrick Bourne in a situation like last week where at least one receiver is
missing from San Francisco.
Yeah, we'll see.
Pearsall seems like it's a multi-week thing.
Jennings, he's just got a million different injuries,
maybe after the mini-buy he gets back back in the lineup.
I'd go Boren straight up, I think, regardless of, you know,
what the Pearsall and Jennings situations look like.
I mean, J-Mo is just, like we talked about,
not involved in this offense,
and it's a really brutal matchup for him.
Yeah, it's another sort of like a player coming off of a heater.
And Mack Jones just showed an affinity of targeting Kendrick Bourne,
really, really hyper-targeting him in key situations.
There was a particular drive where I think you had like three catches on the same
drive. So BORN was on fire. I'm going to keep riding. Kendrick Bourne. I love the way Mac Jones
is playing. Graham, we talked about him. Maybe he's the next Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold. Like,
there's going to be teams trying to trade for him this offseason. We're going to keep an eye on that
one. Mack Jones might be a player you want to pick up in Superflex Dynasty formats right now on the
chance that you're finding a 2026 starter out of it. This Soaring Legion says no bias for your first
name Theo Johnson, who has the greatest first name in the NFL right now or Mason Taylor.
He doesn't give the scoring. So let's assume this is PPR. Yeah, I'm leaning Taylor. I'm shocked
you're a little biased against the Theo Johnson guy. I don't understand why. Yeah.
Listen, we've been rooting for Theo Johnson. It's a very small fraternity for us in sports.
We had Theo Walcott, who was on the English national team and Arsenal, if you're an EPL fan.
We had Theo Ratliff, Graham, back in the day, the Alan Iverson, seven.
76ers team, Larry Brown, Theo Ratliff made an NBA finals, played with like Dekeme Moutumbo
on that team that the Lakers smoked. And then after that, we don't have too many Theo's.
So we are absolutely rooting the, every Theo Johnson touchdown catch is a win for all of us
Theo's out there that don't really have, you've had plenty of grams you can root for in sports.
We don't have too many Theo's out there. So we're rooting for Theo Johnson.
Fantasy burner says half PPR flex spot. Tony Pollard with volume.
or Ladd coming off of a decent game.
He also wants to point out that I'm assuming it's a he is the favorite in this
matchup.
I'm going Lad.
I'm rolling with Ladd in this one.
Yeah, I agree.
Ladd, nice bounce back spot last week.
And like you were just saying, I'm with you.
I think the Chargers just end up having to throw it more with their run game
kind of looking like it's going to be in shambles here.
We'll take one.
And this is a shout out to Tray Camberling.
I know we're not supposed to take too many Thursday questions.
But this is an interesting one from.
the local curd and his little symbol on his avatar is a big piece of cheese.
So maybe this is a Green Bay Packers fan or maybe just a Wisconsin native.
I don't know.
I'm just guessing here.
They make cheese in other states.
I realize if your state makes cheese, we're not trying to throw shots at you.
But this person looks like a Packers fan.
Aaron Rogers or Jackson Dart in their QB2 spot in Super Flex leagues.
going Jackson Dart here, even though Pittsburgh's coming off of a buy.
Dart just, you know, I realize that the decision making is not necessarily what we want to see,
but the scrambling, the willingness to run, Graham, I'm in it.
Where are you at?
Yeah, I'd lean towards Dart as well just because of the running upside.
Not a great matchup for Rogers either, having to face Miles Garrett.
Brown's really tough, pass rush.
Rogers, obviously, pretty limited mobility at this point.
but yeah i kind of i kind of winced at this one it's it's close though man like at dart you know he's a rookie
without any of his top receivers so it's it's scary in that spot it's the eagles
wandel robinson season we'll see though again you never never never ever wandel never ever wandel
graham what do you come on man you you already called it it's theo season it's the o season it's it's
It's Marshall Chalk season.
And it's, for all of my fellow Long Islanders,
let's hope that the Giants can hang with Philly.
Philly's got some issues right now, Graham.
I think we talk about Philadelphia Eagles in a month from now.
I think things are not going to be quite as good.
So maybe I'm wrong on Philadelphia.
It just feels a little bit like 2023 Philadelphia right now with this fast start.
That Denver game, you don't like seeing a team give up that sort of a lead at home.
It just doesn't feel like the Super Bowl champion.
right now. If you're an Eagles fan, let me know in the comments here. Am I right? Am I wrong?
Graham, let everybody know what else you have coming out the rest of the week. Yeah, StartSit.
We'll be out on the site, as always Thursday morning. Make sure you're reading that before you set your
