Starting point is 00:00:00 Week 8, fantasy football, start, sit, advice. Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger with Graham Barfield on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network. We are officially in Buymageddon, six teams on biweeks this week. So a lot of the players we're talking about Graham, they're going to be starts because you don't really have a whole lot of options. We're also talking about the enthusiasm level and how we're looking at these players moving forward. And one very significant player for us is T. Higgins. T Higgins was drafted enthusiastically this offseason, really settling into the third round in a lot of leagues, had a fantastic 2024 season, was rewarded with a huge contract extension. But it was a terrible start for T. T had a terrible week one, terrible week three, terrible week four.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Week five and week six, we started to see him trend up slightly, 11 points in each of them. Week seven seemed like a breakthrough. despite Jamar Chase going absolutely nuts, having 23 targets, putting up a huge fantasy number, T. Higgins also played great, had a 21.6 point finish, had 10 targets, six catches for 96 yards, and of course a big touchdown. Is T. Higgins now locked and loaded in our lineups every single week, no questions with Joe Flacco behind center? I think so. He's not going to come close to that, you know, second, third round cost that we were drafting. him at, but he's certainly a really good wide receiver two moving forward. You mentioned, I mean,
Starting point is 00:01:38 Chase is just the alpha. I mean, it's just ridiculous. 35 to 16 targets over the last two weeks. Higgins just with the 16. But yeah, he had 158 yards in his last two games. And Theo, he had 158 yards in his first five games combined this year. Yeah, with six teams on a buy this week, I think Higgins projects a little better than usual for us this week. And, you know, Flacko is certainly, I mean, he's, we'll talk Flacco here in a second, but like, you know, he's getting the ball out. He gets the ball out within rhythm and timing. And, you know, it's huge for this offense, just like being able to keep the ball moving. And I think the biggest thing that we've seen over the last couple weeks is the Bengals have like just gone back to being the most pass-heavy team in the NFL. They had a plus 10% pass rate over expectation in week seven. In Flacco's first start, it was plus 5%.
Starting point is 00:02:33 So, I mean, you know, with this run game still kind of struggling, I think we're just going to see a ton of volume just funneled to these receivers here. Yeah, it's it's the Joe Flacco Yolo offense where he's going to target Jamar Chase as much as humanly possible. And then T. Higgins is going to benefit from NFL NFL defense is trying to take away Jamar Chase, arguably the best offensive skill position player in football right now is Chase. And I think T. Higgins, you're going to start seeing some of the game. of these spike weeks again. Last year he was just so, so good. And the 10 targets is really, really a big positive for him. And anybody's sort of like saying, you know, maybe this is a one-off. He had eight targets in week six. He had seven in week five. Very significant considering just how low some of the target totals were in the early portion of the year. I think T. Higgins is
Starting point is 00:03:24 completely locked in. Even Chase Brown sort of trending up. We'll talk about Joe Flacco in a minute. But another wide receiver I want to pick your brain on, it almost feels like we're into like must start category for Wondale Robinson. Wondell Robinson in week six against Philly made a bunch of huge plays, six catches for 84 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. And then in week seven against Denver, the repeat performance where we saw Jackson Dart actually not run the ball as much. Jackson Dart, of course, had the late touchdown run, but Dart was slinging it. and Jackson Dart targeted Wondell Robinson 12 times. Wondale finishes with six catches for 95 yards. So back-to-back big performances of Wondell Robinson.
Starting point is 00:04:09 We also go back to Wondell in week two when it was a shootout type environment with Russell Wilson behind center. He had that 28-point game. So Wondell really, you know, we know he's a PPR merchant. He became sort of a punchline for a lot of fantasy analysts this past off season for a guy that just didn't do anything within an absurd amount of targets. last year. But I don't know, Wondale Robinson sort of, to me, looks like a low-end wide receiver two, high-end wide receiver three this week and potentially moving forward. Are you there?
Starting point is 00:04:39 Oh, yeah. Yeah, he's a really steady wide receiver three, maybe one of the most consistent wide receiver threes. And you know, you mentioned last year, you know, he was obviously competing for targets with Malik Neighbors. Now, Neighbors is hurt. Darius Slate and pulled his hamstring. And it's just like kind of open the door for this massive role. Four games under Dart, with Dart under center, He's got 24% of the targets, you know, 20 catches, well over 200 yards. I think at this point, yeah, you're just firing him up. Eagles have been pretty good against slot receivers, but like I said, I mean, he's like really their only show in town right now is their primary reads.
Starting point is 00:05:12 So, yeah, if you drafted Wondale Super Later, picked him up off the waiver wire, he's been an awesome pick in PPR leagues. And, you know, I'm just going to keep writing him up as like one of the best, you know, receiver three flex plays every single week. Just to look at our ratings over at, excuse me, our rankings over at fantasy points, just to kind of go head to head here, would you rather start Wondell Robinson or Rashid Shahid? Oh, Wondale for sure. Wondell Robinson or Quentin Johnston this week. Couldn't have Johnson, of course, this is going to be airing after Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:05:46 So you could have some real pressure on you with this one, Graham. But heading into Thursday night football, who would be your choice between these two? I think Wondale, it's tight. though, man. Like the matchup on Thursday for, you know, the underneath receivers just makes more sense for the Chargers. Vikings playing so much too high, but I think I'd go Wando. Wondell Robinson versus Matthew Golden. Yeah, still Wando. Yeah, so I'm with you on pretty much all of these. So I think Wondell's locked in right now. And it's a player that we know is going to get the target volume where some of the other players where we just mentioned, like a guy like Shahid, a guy like
Starting point is 00:06:24 Golden potentially has a really, really high ceiling, could take it over the top, score a long touchdown. But in terms of target volume, I would be shocked if Robinson doesn't have more targets than either of those players. I think he's trending up towards really being a low-end wide receiver two every single week. He's a player that if people in your league are not viewing him as such, I think he might be a by low or not even really a, it's a buy high, but I don't think the market is necessarily adjusting to Jackson Darts ceiling as a passer and Wondell Robinson's weekly role in this offense. I think he is completely locked in. Let's talk about another player rising up in terms of our enthusiasm levels and not necessarily for a good reason. Mike Evans
Starting point is 00:07:07 headed to the IR. There's some talk that he could come back. I'm not necessarily buying it. It feels like this could be the end of the season for Mike Evans. Really disappointing for him to go down in his first game back Graham. But we've seen it. over the last few years where Cade Otten has stepped up alongside Baker Mayfield. It seems like that's going to happen again. We've now had multiple weeks in a row
Starting point is 00:07:31 of Otten sort of leveling out, catching his usual five passes or so. Is he into sort of mid to low end, tight end one in the ranking for you, moving forward without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin still unable to come back? Yeah, tight end basically after.
Starting point is 00:07:51 the top five this year has been like the eye of the beholder and I'm sure I've changed the rest of season rankings a million times because of it but yeah I just keep bumping otton up it's you know mike Evans likely done for the year uh at this point you know really Chris godwin's season looks a little bit lost and like last year we're going to just see kate otton just kind of hoover those targets over the middle and baker mayfield's playing an extremely high level I mean he has 16 catches for 197 yards over the last three weeks. It's like the sneakiest, nearly 200 yards over the last three weeks. And, you know, Emeka, Ibuka did come back from the hamstring strain, led the team in
Starting point is 00:08:27 routes, led the team of targets against the lions last week. But in that span over the last three weeks, like Buka has 21% of the targets, Otten's pretty close behind at 19%. I think we're looking at, like, you said, a pretty good low-end tight-in one, maybe like a mid-range tight-in one for the rest of the season just because, I mean, it's just the position is so bad. And it's just so light open after the top three or four guys. And I just, I trust Baker Mayfield more than anybody. Yeah, I think Baker Mayfield is the ultimate argument here. We saw what Dak Prescott has been able to do for Jake Ferguson this year.
Starting point is 00:09:01 And no one's saying that Kate Otten's going to score at that level. But when a quarterback that's talented locks in on a tight end and treats them like one of their top targets, then that player can elevate in fantasy. We have no quarterback question marks whatsoever. And at this point, it doesn't matter if Baker Mayfield's missing offensive lineman. It doesn't matter if Baker Mayfield's missing wide receivers. It doesn't matter if he's missing Bucky Irving. Baker Mayfield, we just have this ultimate confidence level that he's going to perform. And this week, a positive matchup against the New Orleans Saints,
Starting point is 00:09:31 a game that we would expect the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win and potentially win handily. One player who is interesting that the marketplace is sort of written off, Jawan Jennings was a huge, huge score last season, had his big breakthrough year, had a couple of spike weeks last year that were simply unbelievable, had one of the highest scoring weeks of any wide receiver all season long last year with Brock Purdy. It's been a really slow start. Week two, really, really good, scored very well.
Starting point is 00:10:05 After that, gets banged up. Plays a little bit in week four, but misses week three, misses week five. we get Juan Jennings back and it was almost like the guy should have taken off a little more time. Week six, he was practically a zero. But week seven, Graham, we saw him with seven targets. Is this the start of something? The scoring wasn't there against Atlanta, but the usage was promising. I think it is the start of something.
Starting point is 00:10:31 And like you mentioned, I mean, he just had the worst injury luck possible to start this year. Last week led the team in Route chair at 85%, led the team in target share at 27%. That's like low end wide receiver one type numbers. It was a pretty brutal matchup for Mack Jones. Falcons obviously a really good defense, you know, pressuring the quarterback and extremely high rate, blitzing a ton. And that game just ended up being the McAfre show. They just, you know, kind of bodied up the Falcons kind of smaller defensive line.
Starting point is 00:10:59 This is another tough spot. Houston is really good against perimeter receivers. Obviously Derek Stingley playing in an extremely high level. Texans giving up the second fewest schedule adjusted fantasy points, allowed to opposing wide receivers. But yeah, you know, if you are in a good spot, you know, and with your team, maybe you're, you know, five and two, four and three, but you're a little weak at receiver. I think, you know, before the trade deadline passes, I think Joanne Jennings is a really good buy right now. Like we've seen in their last couple games together when Pierceall's
Starting point is 00:11:29 healthy, Jennings is out targeting him. George Kittle is, you know, a great player doing a ton of the run game, but we've seen, you know, at times his target share kind of go up and down in this offense. I think there's a chance. Jennings is, you know, we kind of go back to where we were, and he ends up being the steadiest receiver here amongst this receiver group. And we'll see on Brock Purdy. This toe injury is like, you know, nagging him and stuff. But I still think the 49ers have real, like, league winning upside with this passing offense. I mean, despite all of their injuries as a total offense, this team leads the league and passing yardage even after last week's down game. So I'm buying Jennings.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I'm buying this 49ers passing a text still. Yeah, and San Francisco, Purdy was back on the field, at least throwing a little bit this week. He was certainly a practice on Wednesday. We don't know what his involvement's going to be Thursday or Friday, Graham. But I think Purdy, no one's suggesting this is going to be something that's going to be catastrophically long.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I think that he's going to be back sooner than later. And with San Francisco, the thesis has always been they have this great fantasy football playoff schedule. Nothing with that is changing. and I think you nailed it too. Ricky Purcell can't stay on the field either. So Jennings, there's a scenario that when we get to the fantasy football playoffs, he is the number one targeted wide receiver on the 49ers.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Iyuk is so, so far back from returning. That threat sort of is not even looming at this point. So yeah, maybe this is a big Joanne Jennings breakout game. We will see this week against Houston. Let's take a quick break. When we come back, let's talk about a couple of tight ends and quarterbacks that need to be in our lineups in week. week eight. Starting point is 00:14:49 sort of from the past here, a player that's been cast aside. We finally see Colston Loveland, who now we sort of have to pay attention to him because Colquemette is injured. Are you using Colston Loveland this week? Do you want to see it for a week? What's your ideal way of approaching this situation. The number 10 overall pick in the 2025 draft class, Tyler Warren is lighting the world on fire. Orande Gadsden had one of the best scoring performances we've ever seen from a rookie tight end. Mason Taylor's had big moments. Harold Fanon's had big moments.
Starting point is 00:15:21 We're waiting on Colston Loveland. Does it happen this week in week eight? It's interesting. I think we're going to see Loveland continue to kind of trend up. And Cole Commet is hurt now. He's got this back injury. he didn't practice on Wednesday. If he's out, yeah, I think Loveland is in play as like a desperation streamer.
Starting point is 00:15:40 He's coming off season highs in route share and in target share. And I guess my whole thesis behind this man is like, the Bears do not have a secondary receiver. It has been all Roma Dunzei. He's earned at least 17% of the targets in every game this year. But they just, I mean, DJ Moore is not happening. You know, we've not seen Luther Burden play more than 40% of the past plays this year. This team desperately needs a secondary receiver.
Starting point is 00:16:05 and, you know, Colston Leveland is a great prospect still. I mean, he was drafted this highly because he's a great route runner. Ben Johnson, you know, definitely, you know, kind of values the twitchy route runners at tight end. He's more of a receiver kind of moving out there as opposed to, you know, kind of a bulkier tight end who's just going to be zone coverage. I still think Loveland, this is his chance. I still think Loveland is a really talented player. And if he gets his chance without Cole Commet, it might be, you know, it's, it's
Starting point is 00:16:35 been gross. Half the season has been, you know, kind of gone for him. But yeah, he could certainly kind of have like a back half of the year resurgence, you know, resurgence like we've seen with all these rookies every single year. It's like week eight, week nine. It's that this is when this is when rookies typically start to take off. Yeah. And Loveland offers us ability with yak, where he can get yards after the catch. I wonder if they're going to try to get him just a few touches around the line of scrimmage to sort of get him going. And we've seen it before where they attempted to use him early in the game. One of these games where he just sort of got banged up, they tried to get him the ball early on. I wonder if they're going to get him the ball, sort of get that rhythm.
Starting point is 00:17:11 But I know this was a organization and certainly Ben Johnson himself that just he preys on Colston Loveland, even this past off season when he was dealing with injuries, just his approach to everything. The organization in Chicago seems very, very enthusiastic about him. Tyler Warren, absolutely lighting the world on fire, was picked a few picks later. So just to put that in perspective. Chicago took Colston Loveland ahead of Tyler Warren, who's one of the best tight ends in fantasy this year. So it's a lot of pressure on Chicago to see some return on investment from the player they selected as well, Graham. We'll keep an eye on that one. We're also most likely getting Dalton Kincaid back this week from injury. Kincaid has been really, really good
Starting point is 00:17:56 this year. Gave us top five tight end points per game averages. Has had a couple of really, really strong performance is your enthusiasm level for using Kincaid this week against Carolina. It's just a great matchup. I mean, Carolina has just been getting trashed by tight ends. Fifth most yards per game allowed to the position, nearly 70 yards per game. The thing with Kincaid, man, it's like the same thing. I feel like I'm a broken record. He's still just a part-time player, ranks 1028 by route share.
Starting point is 00:18:23 But when he's on the field, he gets the ball a ton, tied in three by targets per route run. And now Josh Palmer's a little banged up. these bills receivers have always been super up and down besides Khalil Shakir basically. I do think Kincaid is kind of trending towards being the second consistent option here. I just wish he would play more. They just don't use him in a full-time role. It's just, you know, they do a lot of, you're kind of heavy personnel where they bring in a third tight end to block. But yeah, man, when he's out on the field, he's getting the ball, you know, that's like kind of half the battle with tight ends.
Starting point is 00:18:56 And like I was saying at the top of the show, we're in this like land. landscape with tight in now it's like yeah we've got three clear cut guys at the top tyler warren's included in that group tray mcbride uh you can maybe throw like you know Tucker craft kind of in that bottom tier of the top five jake ferguson george kittle obviously you're just must play but i think kinkade is like tied in seven tight in eight rest of season and you know hopefully he's a hundred percent healthy coming out of the buy and maybe they start using him a little bit more i don't think he's i was looking in the fantasy points data suite i don't think he's run a route on more than 60% of the team's dropbacks in a single game this year. It's kind of crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Like if you were playing at a full-time level, he probably would be pushing top five numbers. Yeah. And it's, he's been very, very efficient this year. He's also benefited from a lack of an alpha wide receiver where in Buffalo, you saw Kean Coleman early, you saw Khalil Shakir have some really strong moments. But neither one of those guys is really like sapping targets. So Kincaid has been super efficient. He's also scoring touchdown. which has helped him. But Graham, I do think that there's going to be some adjustment with the Buffalo offense because it's a very, very rare thing under McDermott with Josh Allen that we're
Starting point is 00:20:10 seeing a losing streak. And a losing streak where the offense was sort of stuck in the mud in multiple times, the New England loss, which came really down to the wire, a last minute field goal from Drake May and the Patriots on the road in Buffalo on October the 5th. But then a really, really disappointing game in Atlanta. where Buffalo only scored 14 points. Now they get the by week to sort of get things together, and they are big favorites on the road in Carolina this week against Andy Dalton.
Starting point is 00:20:40 So you got to think things could get going. I'm enthusiastic about Dalton Kincaid as well. You wonder if the snaps are going to trend up. You wonder if we just see a little bit more like consistent scoring. And like you said, tight end is just such a landmine that at the end of the year, Dalton Kincaid could end up being staying as a top five point per game. score at the tight end position. This could really be his big breakout year in year three. Another player on Buffalo that I know you have listed as a flex is Khalil Shakir, your
Starting point is 00:21:10 enthusiasm level for using him this week against Carolina. We've just seen the bills kind of go back to what this offense was last year, where Shakir is the only real consistent receiver in this group. He has 23, 29, and 19% of the targets in his last three games before the buy. You know, this is a week where it's really tricky at receiver. You know, you're going to be making some pretty gross receiver decisions. We're going to talk desperation flexes here in a little bit at the end of the show. But yeah, Shakir to me is like a tier below Wondell Robinson, but he's like among that really good receiver three group this week.
Starting point is 00:21:48 And, you know, Carolina, like we were just talking with Dalton Kincaid. They've kind of been an underneath funnel. J.C. Horn's been really good as a perimeter corner. Shakir's going to avoid him and kind of run, you know, the majority of his routes in the middle of the field. So pretty good matchup for he and Kim Kiddick. Yeah, I think both those guys are in the starting lineup, especially this week. So I guess if you're recommending Kincaid and you're recommending Shakir, Keon Coleman, you don't have a whole lot of hope taking a big step forward after the vibe.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Yeah, bro, he's just the same guy. Like, he had the huge game against Baltimore, which now looks like it's like everybody goes off against Baltimore. But yeah, 125 yards in his last five games. He's just still not separating really well. Josh Palmer is out, so I guess that does, like, bump his target share a little bit, but not by much. I still think this offense is probably going to funnel through Shakir and Kincaid and obviously a lot of James Cook for the rest of the season. Yeah, don't go chasing waterfalls with Keon Coleman. If he comes out and he has a big, like, usage change, let it happen on your bench because it's been sort of really inspiring. He's had, yeah, he's had some great matchups too, and he's just like completely airballed. He had a great matchup against the Saints three or four weeks ago. didn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:23:01 You had a good matchup against the Patriots. They played a bunch of man. He had the touchdown, but really didn't do much in that game either. So it's just, it's more of the same with this guy. Somewhere in the multiverse, Buffalo selected Ladd-McConkie instead of Kean Coleman.
Starting point is 00:23:12 We're like, we're like, hey, is Ladd-McConkey like the wide receiver six or the wide receiver seven to meet Graham, you know, attached to Josh Allen. And we probably wouldn't be talking about Khalil Shakir or Dalton Kincaid either if he was on Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:23:23 So there you go. I want two players who are going to get touches and I think are both interesting spot starts this week. And I know you have them listed as such. Nico Collins suffered a concussion. Houston is already quite limited when it comes to skill position personnel. Woody Mark scored a touchdown and easily outtouched Nick Chubb. And Dalton Schultz, as soon as we saw Nico Collins leave the field, it was a ton of targets coming Dalton Schultz's way. Schultz has actually been like he's, he's been the break glass in case of emergency
Starting point is 00:24:02 spot start at tight end in multiple weeks this season where he had a bunch of games in a row with five catches. It was like super weird where he had five catches for three straight weeks in weeks, three, four, and five. But then when Collins goes down, he ends up with a 10 target, nine catches for 98 yards performance at Seattle in Houston's loss. Are you starting both Woody Marks and Dalton Schultz on teams that are in need help and teams that are also dealing with bye weeks? Schultz is the best streamer, like straight up streaming tight end play on this slate.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Like guy you could pick up off the waiver wire right now. Yeah, they just don't have anything else. I mean, the Texans have just gone from having one of the best supporting casts for C.J. Stroud two years ago to arguably the worst at this point. But the volume has to go somewhere. 49ers just lost Fred Warner, obviously. Pats had a decent game against them last week without Warner, seven catches, 62 yards. Yeah, Schultz is a guy.
Starting point is 00:25:01 I'm, you know, I'm streaming in a couple of leagues where I'm just really weak at tight end. Woody Marks is interesting, man. Like, they actually did kind of have like a little post-buy rookie bump for him. Really outsnapped Nick Chubb, 61% to 26%. And he tripled him up by our expected fantasy points here of fantasy points data. So, I mean, I'm looking at this as like, if, if Mark, Marks is going to get like, say, 60 to 65% of the carries, and we know he's a much better receiver than Chubb. We could be looking at him as like a low end RB2 in this offense the rest of the season.
Starting point is 00:25:36 It's, you know, it's obvious to everybody. Houston can't block up front. Their offensive line has been terrible all year. The run blocking has been just as bad as their pass protection. But, yeah, this week is like, D. Spot the kind of fire up marks. Texans are one and a half point favorites against this kind of beat up 49er seam at home. So I'm playing marks with like a pretty good degree of confidence because this week it's really this is another really good week at running back just in terms of the projections.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Like if you look at our top 30 players, 18, 19, 20 of them are going to be running backs. But Mark's like he's kind of at the tail end of the running back group this week. But at the end of the day, like we're kind of just chasing these touches here. You know, he's been pretty good as a receiver, man. You know, two games with more than 50% of the snaps. He's got 11 targets, seven catches, seven yards. and two touchdowns. Certainly a chance that Stroud just kind of like, you know, gets his first read. If it's not there, the guy's not open, he kind of just dumps it down to Woody Marks.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Yeah, and it seems like Woody Marks and Dalton Schultz, I think we're more enthusiastic at fantasy points than maybe the overall market is right now. Starting point is 00:28:19 pick six bonus picks that expire in 14 days limited time offer see terms at pick six dot draftkings.com slash promos. Grant, let's talk quarterbacks. We have two spot starts that are actually really fun to talk about. Let's first start out with Joe Flacco. I had Joe Flacco very highly ranked in my high stanks waiver wire slash sleepers article that drops every week over at fantasy points.com for players that are in deeper format. players that are in high-stakes leagues like the FFPC, the NFFC and the FFWC.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Joe Flacco was scooped up everywhere this week. Coming off of a huge performance, Joe Flacco has five touchdown passes over his last two weeks played. And what's interesting is he's not turning the ball over in Cincinnati. He's been very tight with the football as well, Graham. So you're not getting those negative twos or whatever your league has when a player throws a pick. Joe Flacco seems completely locked in. the media in Cincinnati loves him. Jamar Chase certainly loves him. T. Higgins loves him. Should fantasy managers love him this week? The environment is just so much better, right?
Starting point is 00:29:29 Like we saw week one, Flacco played pretty well, ironically, against the Bengals. Did throw two picks, but then, I mean, you know, the Browns just don't have the receiver group, obviously that, you know, the Bengals do. So it's a little bit of both like Chase and Higgins elevating Flacco and Flacco just being significantly better than Browning. Yeah, man, you mentioned I'm with you. I'm not there where Flacco's like a top 12 quarterback for the rest of the season, but I did bump him up significantly in our rest of season rankings to like 16 or 17, maybe even 18,
Starting point is 00:30:00 averaging 21.4 fantasy points per game in his two starts. And, you know, we've got six teams out on a buy this week. So you're going to be making some pretty gross lineup decisions across the board. But I'm with you. Flacco is a guy like I'm actually a little excited to play this week. This is just a really good matchup. Jets play the seventh most, man coverage, which is great for the receivers. Obviously, Chase and Higgins can just shred any
Starting point is 00:30:23 coverage, but especially when it's man-to-man. And this defensive line sucks at getting pressure. Their bottom 10 in pressure rate, so Flacco is going to have plenty of time to get rid of the ball. I like Flacco quite a bit. Like, there's some teams that I've got some trouble at quarterback. I've lost Brock Purdy on a bunch of teams. I've picked up Flacco in a lot of those spots. And I'm hesitant to say I'm excited to play a, you know, 40-year-old Joe Flacco. But, you know, with attached to these receivers, pretty good offense, very pass-heavy like we were talking about, certainly some upside for fantasy for the rest of the season. Yeah, and we saw this two seasons ago where it became sort of a punchline. And some managers are like, oh, look at Joe Flacco scoring points where other fantasy managers are like, you know what, I don't care.
Starting point is 00:31:09 I don't care that the guy's 40. This guy's actually putting up numbers. I'm going to use him. In Superflex, Joe Flacco, I don't want to say league winner, but in Superflex, he's a huge edge pickup where he's going to help your team win a lot. But I think that he's also on the streaming radar in single QB formats. There's been a number of quarterbacks where we were maybe excited about a few weeks back like Brock Purdy, like Justin Fields, who's now been benched. Those guys are either hurt or benched where we have Joe Flack. is sort of a bailout play.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And even if you have a strong quarterback, I still think Joe Flacco is worth picking up as a QB2 because he's going to be basically doing his best Joe Burrow impersonation. Now, the haters and YouTube are going to say, you know, Theo, like don't even use the two in the same breath. He's not Joe Burrow. I get he's not Joe Burrow, but he's running the Joe Burrow offense.
Starting point is 00:32:03 And Graham, the number speaks to themselves against a very tough Green Bay defense. He finished as the QB 15 overall for the week six. And then last week in week seven, he was QB6 overall. The Jets also feel like a team that the levy might break, where I know the Jets the last two weeks, special teams and defense have been standouts for the Jets. But you sometimes see this in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:32:30 where if the offense is not giving you anything to support you, sometimes these really, quote unquote, strong defenses, things can just fall apart. All of a sudden it's an early pick from the Jets. the Bengals score a touchdown. Bengals go up 14-0. And then it's just sort of like the life gets pulled out of that team. So you could end up seeing Joe Flacco at some point over the next few weeks,
Starting point is 00:32:51 giving you a three, another three touchdown performance, maybe a four passing touchdown performance. And at the end of the day, Jemar Chase is the best player he's ever played with. And he's hyper-targeting him at such a high level. Joe Flacco understands what he has. I think he understands this is his last run as a starter. he's almost going to be 41 before you know it, Graham. But Jamar Chase, I think you're going to continue to see him getting like that plus, that 35 plus percent target share.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Incredible first read rate and incredible air yard share. And oh, if Jamar Chase is covered, he can take shots down field to T. Higgins, locked in Joe Flacco. I think he's a mid-QB2 and I think he's going to have spike week. So I'm into it. A little more short term, Marcus Mariotta. And this is the second time we've talked about Marcus Marietta on this show. show. The last time we talked about him, he ended up having a really big week against Atlanta. And you now have a pretty decent sample size. Marcus Marriota as a Washington commander running the
Starting point is 00:33:50 Cliff Kingsbury offense under head coach Dan Quinn. He's had four starts. Three of them have been QB1 performances. Now, one of them was week 18 last week. So the haters can say week 18, bro, it doesn't help my fantasy team. But the lowest finish he's had in terms of the QB weekly finishes was QB 17. So he's been very good as a Jaden Daniels fill in. Are you using him this week in a really, really tough matchup on the road in Kansas City? Yeah, that's the thing. That's the only thing that's told me back from like really strong enthusiasm is just this matchup. Chiefs have been, you know, once again, one of the best defenses just at limiting big plays. They're giving up, I think, the third fewest passing fantasy points per game. If Tara McCrard
Starting point is 00:34:37 Clorin and Debo Samuel are both good to go. Then I'm going to be streaming a lot of Mario-O-Diota this week. I've got Jane Daniels in a few spots, and I've just kind of like basically, you know, handcuffed Mario-O-to to Daniels at this point. But you mentioned it. I mean, he's had four appearances with more than 55% of the snaps over the last two seasons,
Starting point is 00:34:54 and he's quietly produced 20.8 fantasy points per game. That'd make him, like, tied with Drake May as the QB6 on this year. It's really, really sneaky. The rushing is very, very sneaky with him. Last two seasons, he's had, you know, 186 yards on 28 carries, two touchdowns on the ground. And then you mentioned, you know, they get their receivers back in this spot. Like, you know, I'm not excited to play Washington this week.
Starting point is 00:35:19 They have such a, you know, low team total. It's third or fourth lowest on the slate. But yeah, I think Mario da and these receivers definitely make a ton of sense in a game environment where they're going to be, you know, clearly trailing to a white hot chiefs offense that's probably going to put, you know, 25, 30, 35 points on the board. Yeah, you nailed it. It's the rushing upside with Mariotta that makes him sort of the floor solid. Even last week when he came in for Jaden Daniels, he had 34 rushing yards. In week three, he had 40 rushing yards in the touchdown. And Marietta feels like he's the same age as Joe Flacco, but he's only 32 years old.
Starting point is 00:35:55 The athleticism is still there for Marietta. Very interesting stuff. Let's take a quick break. We come back. Let's talk about players that you should sit. And we're going to talk about a couple of desperation starts if you are in need of it. All right, welcome back. Graham, let's quickly rip through some of these sits. I guess you've got to bench my guy, Jacori Kroski, Merritt, this week. The haters are out in full force. Sort of hard for Jacori Kroski Merritt to produce fantasy points in games where Washington's trailing a ton. So I think, like, you have to look for when Jaden Daniels is back, Jaceroy Krosky Merritt, second half of the year, could do some things, but certainly not this week.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Yeah, not this week. And you nailed it. It's just the, you know, the role for him is he's an early. down. Grindr, Jeremy McNichols, plays on passing downs. And we were just talking through this game. I mean, it's going to be a lot of chiefs. They're 12 and a half point road underdogs. Jacori-crossing Merritt, he's basically like touchdown or bust flex this week. And this is a, even with six teams on a buy, this is still a pretty good week at running back. So I think you're going to have some better options there. Yeah, you're going to go ahead and bench Chikori Kroski Merritt. Xavier Leggett had a huge week last week, probably his best.
Starting point is 00:37:07 game as a program. And now you have Andy Dalton behind center. There was a number of waiver wire articles, including my own, sort of encouraging people to add Xavier Leggett. Are we going to use him in our starting lineups this week coming off of the big week seven performance? I got to see more than just one good game. He's been so bad this year, man, like really, really bad. You know, I know Bryce Young has struggled at times this year. I think Annie Dalton's just better. You look at the last three seasons by adjusted net yards per passing attempt, which factors in, you know, negative plays like interceptions and sacks. Dalton has been better in that stat.
Starting point is 00:37:43 So I think this is like a small upgrade for this receiver group, but I think we're going to see Canales come out and just give Tetaro-McMillan as many first-read targets as he can handle. He wants to show that this offense can function with better quarterback play. And all we've seen all year is Tet getting a ton of first reads. Yeah, you know, this game environment may be. you know, there's two receivers that can pop here. You know, bills are pretty strong seven point favorites on the road in Carolina.
Starting point is 00:38:13 But I got to, I got to see more from Leggett after just one week. I think there's just some, there's some better like desperation receiver plays this week than him. Yeah, I'm with you. I think Legat is one where I'm happy to have added him in a couple places, but I want to see if this is something that can sustain two weeks in a row. Also, you know, Jill and Koker, like who was invisible last week, was that. a ramp up game for Coker, get a couple of reps in.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Like, we'll see after this week because, again, they will be trailing against Buffalo. I do think both running backs are fine, Dowdell, Chuba Hubbard, both those guys that think are going to get their touches. You can kind of predict that. Tedroo McMillan about as much as he can handle. Hunter Henry, we were really happy about using earlier in the year. Drake May is QB3 overall on the season. Stefan Diggs, completely locked in.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Ramandre Stevenson, pretty much locked in as a low-end, Rambon. too. Is Hunter Henry a player that we want to chase and hoping to get some of that early season magic? Or do you think he's sort of tapering off in a player that we want to avoid in fantasy football? Nah, man, I've been writing up Henry as a sit for two or three weeks now. This will be another week where he's on my set list. He's just not really involved in this offense to a degree like where we need him to be for tight ends. He's only game with more than 18% of the targets was against the Steelers where he went off. But since that game, man, he has just 14 targets total.
Starting point is 00:39:38 He's 11 catches, 145 yards. So he's been like really efficient on those looks. But we just haven't seen the big spiked weeks for him. And this is a spot where the Patriot should just roll the Browns, right? Like I could see May just dropping back like 25, 28 times in this spot. Stevenson has a good game. Diggs has a good game. It's an amazing matchup for Diggs.
Starting point is 00:39:59 And this matchup just to mention that. But yeah, I'm kind of out on Henry. I think there's just some better tight-in streamers this. week. Ronda Gadsden's Thursday night game. I'd much rather play him. I'd much rather play Kate Otton, Dalton Schultz, just guys that like we feel very comfortable that are going to get consistent targets within their offense. Yeah, Hunter Henry flew too close to the sun early in the year. He used up all of his fantasy aura. He's on our benches now. There's a ton of guys. You mentioned it. I mean, there's so many guys I'd rather start over Hunter Henry. I'd even
Starting point is 00:40:28 rather start a guy like a, I'd rather start a Mason Taylor. I agree. Noah Fant. I'd probably rather start than him this week because I think Noah Fant might have a better chance of scoring a touchdown. Yeah, I'm with you. We're going to sit Hunter Henry. Are we starting any Tennessee Titan this week or are we sitting every single one of them against Indianapolis? Yeah, that's the way I've been right enough for three weeks now. Yeah, you just don't play Titans.
Starting point is 00:40:51 You know, Ridley's hurt and he's been terrible outside of one game this year. They got Chimir DK a little more involved last week. Their deep threat. But yeah, nah, I mean, dude, between the receiver group being terrible. this backfield has just turned into a nightmare too. The first game with Mike McCoy as their interim head coach, we saw just a complete split. Pollard had a small lead in snaps,
Starting point is 00:41:17 but Pollard had six carries, Spears had five. It's just, it's so gross, man. Titans are just like full fade at this point. Rest the season, just play the defense against Cam Ward and fade the Titans. Yeah, it's truly awful in Tennessee. I think for me, the one player I'm sort of, to stashing is Taije Spears to see if the role increases just because they're so, so, so bad.
Starting point is 00:41:40 And I actually am stashing a little bit of Chim D.K. Because, Graham, they're so bad that I think you're going to start seeing Yolo balls for Chimier D.K every single week, maybe more manufactured rush attempts. He might be a player in the second half of the year that you're like, oh, Chimier DK is getting, you know, 10 touches, nine touches, back-to-back weeks because Tennessee literally has nothing else. and they're trailing by two touchdowns every single week. It is bad, bad news.
Starting point is 00:42:07 I love everything about your article, but I got to say there's one part of it I really didn't like. The entire Theo community is really pissed off at you, Graham, because we rarely get athletes that represent us as a community. We had Theo Ratliff, we had Theo Walcott for Arsenal and the English national team. Ratliff, of course, Philadelphia 76ers. And now we have this like Golden God, Theo J. Johnson who's scoring touchdowns right and left, and you want me to sit him this week, Graham?
Starting point is 00:42:36 What's going on? Yeah, I got to apologize to the entire Theo community. It's nothing against you all. It's just this matchup. Eagles have allowed the second few of schedule of just fantasy points per game. The tight ends. We've been on Johnson as a streamer, especially after they lost neighbors, but I can't do it this week, man.
Starting point is 00:42:52 He just had two catches for 27 yards against the Eagles two weeks ago. That's true. That's true. The three out of the four isn't bad. Maybe next week we'll be talking about Theo Johnson as a starter. and you'll get back in our good graces, Graham, right now. A lot of beef from the community. Let's talk about a couple of desperation flexes.
Starting point is 00:43:08 And I love a couple of these players that you have. Marvin Mims had a big week last week. That game was unbelievable. If you missed the Giants Denver game, make sure you go back and watch sort of the condensed version. Go to NFL Game Pass or go to YouTube. Just watch the condensed version. It was probably the game of the year.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And Marvin Mims ended up with six catches. he ended up with a nice long like 13-yard rush attempt. Mims this week has a really fun match against Dallas. I was looking at using him in a couple of DFS lineups. Can we also use him in redraft leagues? So I didn't write him up as a start. I said like I'd love to get excited about these guys, but I've just like I've been burned way too many times.
Starting point is 00:43:50 And I think everybody's been burned way too many times about these Broncos like ancillary pieces. I mean, Cortland Sutton's just like the must start of the century this week. but if you're desperate and you're just like looking for upside, like maybe you lost Nico Collins and Mike Evans the last two weeks, Marvin Mims does have some upside here. Dallas is getting absolutely destroyed on deep passes, giving up the most yards on passes over 20 or more air yards. Obviously, that's Marvin Mims' game.
Starting point is 00:44:20 And he did just come off a season high in terms of his routes and his targets. He's still just a part-time player here. That's the thing. Like Troy Franklin, Mims, Evan Ingram, all these guys are just kind of rotating. Pat Bryant's playing a little bit more too. They're all just rotating. He's not going to be a full-time player. He could have just two catches. But in this game environment, Cowboys games have just been going off, man, like just every single week. You can just like set your watch to it. Cowboys games are going to score 55, 60 points on average.
Starting point is 00:44:47 And this is like one of the best game environments we have on this slate. So if you're absolutely desperate, I do like memes this week. Yeah. And another player who I'm really happy you wrote up who's played very well this year at times and now has just the best matchup ever. We've seen multiple running backs, not just produced fantasy numbers, but put up high-end RB1 numbers against the Miami Dolphins. Graham, I have one league where my team's pretty good, but I have a bunch of players on byweeks, but I have the Bijan Robinson, Tyler Al Jir combination. I'm starting to both.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Are you there with using Tyler Al Jir in fantasy lineups this week if you need help at like the RB2 or flex spot. Yeah, absolutely. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to be playing out here in RB2 in a few spots just because, you know, this is such a brutal week for buys. But this matchup is just insanely good at home against a Miami defense that's giving up a league high, 135 yards per game on the ground. They're terrible in terms of their yards before contact allow. They also suck at tackling. It's just like the best combo ever for a run defense for for matchups for fantasy. And yeah, I mean, Bijan is going to go off this week.
Starting point is 00:45:58 He could have 200 scrimmage yards pretty easily. But, yeah, Aaljeure has been good in that kind of closer role. So if Atlanta just smokes Miami, which they absolutely could. We could see Aous year in the fourth quarter, get, you know, eight, nine carries and have a pretty decent game in that kind of closer-ish role. Yeah, our guy, Darren Waller, is now headed to the IR. Miami is in big, big trouble right now. A lot of consolidated touches for Waddle.
Starting point is 00:46:23 and A. Chan, there's a lot of write-ups in, I don't know if you saw this in the, like the Palm Beach Post. I think it was Joe Shads article where Mike McDaniel and all them, they want to run the ball a ton. It's like, okay, like we're, we're in desperation mode at one and six. I mean, I'd feel the same way watching Tua, man. Like, it's over for two of it. Like, it's very, very over. And the problem with, with him is like, they have no way to get out of that contract. His contract is an absolute nightmare. So, like, I still think Mike McDaniel. is a really good offensive coordinator. I don't think he's going to be a head coach ever again.
Starting point is 00:46:56 But, I mean, this offense has been pretty good this year. He's schemed it up. Wow, it's just two as it's over, man. You know, it's going to be like one of those before and after pictures with Mike McDaniel. This year, he's looking all disheveled, all upset. Next year, he's going to be the offensive coordinator for some team. He's going to look super healthy, super like, like smiling. Energetic.
Starting point is 00:47:13 He's going to have that vibe back. He's going to have a glow. He's going to have a glow. So, yeah, Mike McDaniel, we really want to see you as an offensive coordinator. I want to see you get out of Miami. Let's talk about one more player quickly. Tess Johnson, touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. How good an organization is Tampa Bay at evaluating skill position talent?
Starting point is 00:47:32 It's unbelievable. It's hit after hit after hit. Bucky Irving, Rashad White, getting those guys in rounds three and round four, getting Jalen McMillan last year in round three. Kate Otten was a fifth round pick. Mike Evans, first round pick, but 11 straight years of 1,000 receiving yards. Chris Godwin, second round pick, second or third? And then you have, of course, a Mecca-Egbuka who looks like the steel of the NFL draft on the offensive side of the ball, besides Jackson DART, of course.
Starting point is 00:48:02 And where are you at here on Tess Johnson's seventh round pick? What's interesting is his numbers at Oregon were insane, put up a huge performance at the Senior Bowl. I was down in Mobile and we were like, Tess Johnson was ripping it up. But then he has a terrible NFL combine for his size. Tampa Bay might have stolen one here. Looks really good. Jason Light is just on fire, dude. He's the executive of the year again,
Starting point is 00:48:25 just absolutely crushing each draft. They just have very little roster turnover. Yeah, I mean, I'm not like, I'm not going crazy with Tess this week. He's kind of in that like Marvin Mims type range for us is like a wide receiver four in terms of the projection this week. But if you're desperate, a receiver, he certainly makes a lot of sense attached to Baker.
Starting point is 00:48:44 He's played 84 and 74% of the Bucs. past plays over this last, you know, two weeks. And obviously, that's just out in necessity. They've just dealt with so many receiver injuries, you know, Egbuka got hurt. Mike Evans now likely out for the year. Godwin hasn't played. But yeah, I mean, the ball has to go somewhere. I still think it'll be Igbuka and Otten as like the clear top two. But if you need just, you know, Hail Mary, receiver four, somebody you can pick up off the wire right now. It'd probably be Taz for me. Yeah. And I think maybe I'm a little more excited about Tess than you are. I think like just moving forward for the rest of the season.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Like we saw, this is now three straight weeks of TES producing about double digit points. Week five, he was 9.9 PPR points. But I feel like this could grow. And it's the big plays downfield where you're not only just using him as like a dart throw flex, but he's a dart throw flex who could give you some spike weeks. I think this role could just try, just tick up just a little bit, Graham, where you're looking at like week seven, you have the nine target performance. I think that's a little much to ask.
Starting point is 00:49:49 Of course, they were trailing Detroit. But I think you're going to see him settling in as like a six, seven target of game guy post by unless we get Chris Godwin coming back like straight up full on healthy.
