Week 8, fantasy football, waiver wire ads, and deep sleepers for you to add to your roster.
Theo Greminger, Tom Brawley, and Joe Dolan, Fantasy Football Daily on the Fantasy Points Podcast Network.
An unbelievably fun week, guys.
I mean, we had some, a bunch of really, really exciting games.
And one game that was not so exciting was the Kansas City Chiefs against the Las Vegas Raiders.
I guess if you were a Rashi Rice fantasy manager, you were pretty excited about this one.
if you're Patrick Mahomes fantasy manager, you continue to be excited.
But for fantasy managers that have listened to us for the last few weeks and are rostering
Breschard Smith, they are also equally excited.
We saw Breschard Smith have a season high in a number of categories, including five catches.
The touches went way up.
And some people are dismissing this guy saying, you know, this was a result of Kansas City,
getting off to a big lead, giving Breschard Smith more work in the second half.
I don't think so.
I think this is sort of a opportunity for him to break through.
You also have the Kareem Hunt injury.
So the potential to consolidate touches in the Kansas City backfield with Breschard Smith and Isaiah Pacheco.
And Smith has so many traits we've talked up.
How excited would you be to add him this week if he was available in your league on waivers?
Joe, let's start out with you on this one.
Yeah, this is a guy I was drafting a lot in the last round of best ball drafts.
He's a guy who I drafted in some of my redraft league.
and he was kind of a fantasy yo-yo, one of those up and down guys on and off a roster.
But the rationale was simple here.
Isaiah Pacheco was terrible last year and he got hurt.
And if he didn't bounce back, what was their backfield going to look like?
Kareem Hunt is one of the slowest running backs in the NFL right now.
What is it going to look like for him?
So, Prashard Smith, as a former college receiver who played one year as a running back,
well, we had just seen somebody who was that same profile have a really strong
rookie season and Tyrone Tracy. So I was like, what if, you know, when you have those 18th round
picks and now waiver wire pickups, you've got to ask yourself, what if? You know, what if this is
real? And look, Kansas City is running the ball more. And they're trying to do it with volume to
create some balance in that offense, but make no mistake. They know where their bread is buttered
right now. It is in the passing game. Patrick Mahomes is the betting favorite for MVP. They've got
their full slate of weapons back with Rishi Rice and Xavier Worthy healthy.
Travis Kelsey can now play a supporting role where he led them in receiving, you know,
on just three catches in week number seven.
So the bread is going to be buttered in the passing game.
And while Richard Smith did get a bunch of carries late in that game with Gardner Minshu
in, he was getting significant receiving snaps and receiving work early in the game with Patrick
Mahomes.
So to me, it looks like they're trying to groom him for a potential.
bigger role later in the season. And we saw this is obviously a pie in the sky type of comparison.
But Jerich McKinnon, a number of years ago, was a league winner in November and December,
simply with a receiving role in the Kansas City offense. Now, Breschard Smith's going to need to get
some work in the red zone for that to happen. But this is an encouraging sign for me.
This is a player who's available, and I think over 95% of Yahoo Leagues. So I would be,
excited to add him to my roster as a speculative ad. And look, not for nothing, he got four
passes for five passes for 42 yards, even if he didn't get a carry. If you have that in a PPR
league in a week where six teams are on by and other guys are hurt, that might be the difference
between a win and a loss. Yeah, I love, I love where you're at. I love the Jerich McKinnon
comparison. That's one we've made in this past off season. And it looks like it's actually coming true.
I also like where you're at where this is a passing offense. Tom, there's a scenario where
Richard Smith, even if Pacheco sees his exact same number of touches, can still be viable
in like a flex roll with upside throughout the second half of the season. Yeah, absolutely. I mean,
this is a rule that has continued to grow as his rookie season's moved on here. Four straight
games with at least three receptions. He's got the 21 receiving yards and all four of those games.
So this role has been solidified for a month.
And would it surprise anybody if they start to take more carries away from Cream Hunt?
He's not really bringing a whole lot.
Pacheco, he's looked a little bit better.
So maybe we can consolidate this backfield a little bit more to just two backs.
And as Joe said, though, the key to the McKinnon rule,
we need to get some more opportunities down by the goal line.
This is a pretty similar role to what McKinnon had as a receiver.
but McKinnon had those additional touches down by the goal line.
And we have all these weapons on offense.
It wouldn't be surprising if they decide to take Cream Hunt out of the mix
and put Breschard Smith onto the field and really compromise what defenses want to do.
Whenever Cream Hunt's on the field, it usually is a signal that they're going to run the ball
right up the middle of the field and right between the tackles.
And to get Breschard Smith out in the field, good luck defending.
all of that area around around the goal line whenever you have that much speed and athleticism
with all those receivers on the field.
So this is definitely, and this was a key step for him.
We really haven't seen him as a runner.
I know it was garbage time, but he was able to get some key, you know, get some key carries
at the end of the game to run out the clock.
And so hopefully this does lead to more carries in the future.
It was something that we didn't really get to see so far this year.
So a big boost and touches here.
And we'll see about Cream Hunt.
He did pick up a little bit of an injury in that game.
We'll see if it's anything major.
But maybe this backfield will start to become a two-man backfield.
Yeah.
And with Richard Smith, you mentioned like the amount of touches that they gave him the second half.
Early in the season, they talked about getting him experience as a runner.
There's zero chance we would have seen a 19 touch game out of Breschard Smith,
early in the season. So even though it's a blowout, they're still showing the trust in him,
the maturation in him in this offense. Really, really fun pick if you're holding him on your
roster. And he's one of my favorite ads this week. My question for you guys is, Kyle Menangai,
we're also a little bit excited about this one. Menongai, we've also talked about sort of from a
handcuff perspective, but in a game where the Chicago Bears defense played fantastic,
Chicago really in control of this game, 2614, but it was was not.
that close. Manganangai ends up with 13 carries for 81 yards in a touchdown, adds two
receptions for 13 yards on three targets. And this is with D'Andre Swift scoring 20.8
PPR points. Dare I say it, this is sort of a watered down version of what we saw from
Ben Johnson last year, where there'd be multiple weeks for the past two seasons where it's
Jemir Gibbs producing alongside David Montgomery. Are we getting to that?
at least stylistically, Tom, where you, do you think Chicago wants to use two backs on a
week in, week out basis? I think that's where we're trending. Menongai has that handcuff appeal,
as you said, but I do think we're starting to lean toward a split backfield here. So I know
Swift owners probably don't want to hear that, but coming out of the buy, that was something
we talked about with all three of their rookies, Luther Bird and Colston Loveland. And it's turned out
to be Kyle Monong guy has had the bigger role coming out of their their week five by.
And we saw it really come through this past week and had a big game, 46% Snapshare, really iced
the game.
So maybe he can become that David Montgomery light here in this backfield.
And DeAndre Swift, maybe he's Jamir Gibbs light.
But I think we've seen over the last couple of years that DeAndre Swift is probably better
in one of these split backfield situations.
He had to really shoulder most of the carries last year
and wasn't very effective.
And he struggled a little bit early in the season as well.
But the more that they've gotten Monongai involved here,
split up the carries, it's really helped DeAndre Swift to be more effective.
So I think a good coach is going to look at this situation and say,
I think our backfield is better off having two players here,
splitting up the work.
and it's made D'Andre Swift a little bit more effective here the last two weeks.
So, and this, you've got to give credit to this offensive line and this offense as well.
They've really run the ball well the last couple of weeks out of the buy.
So maybe they figured something out with their game plans and, you know,
the offensive line is just playing a little bit better.
So I think this offensive environment for this backfield has improved.
So Menong guy is kind of the guy.
I'd like to pick up off the waiver wire right now.
Joe, you agree with.
Tom on this, your enthusiasm levels for Menongai. He's also, I think, like we mentioned
Breschard Smith availability. I would imagine Menongai is probably even more available. I know
that in some of these FFPC NFFC leagues, Breschard Smith is rostered, but Monongai is still
out there in a lot of them. Your thoughts about how you would value those two head to head
and your overall thoughts on Monongai as a Waver Wire ad. Yeah, by the way, in Yahoo, I think it's
exactly the same. Six percent rostered in those. I agree. I think I would prioritize
Menangai for one particular reason, there's two backs involved in Chicago and there's still
three involved in Kansas City. And even even the good offenses, three backs involved can get
tricky. You would have to see one of those Kansas City guys drop out for me to feel really good.
For Shard Smith, as I alluded to, I think he's got the ability to do that.
especially on a pass heavy team, but I would prioritize Monongai.
And I like the fact that, you know, I saw the interception when you're watching six games
at once.
Sometimes it's hard to truly focus.
I don't think Caleb Williams played a particularly good game this week.
And the Bears were still able to control offensively because of the run game.
And Kyle Monongai helping them get an out when their quarterback isn't on.
I think it's something that Ben Johnson's really going to like.
Shout out to Joe Dolan keeping six screens on at once.
We're sort of seeing how the sausage is made.
Seven actually. One is red zone.
One is, there you go. Seven. There you go. That's big time.
Big time. I might go like two. I think my mind would explode.
That's a lot of information to take in, but that's why he's Joe Dolan.
Let's take a quick break. We come back. We're going to talk about a couple of other running backs.
You can add to your roster and a couple of interesting wide receivers right after this.

Let's talk about a couple of these other running backs.
The Jets are an absolute train wreck, Tom.
We talk about Isaiah Davis a few times here.
And it's not because Isaiah Davis is some superstar talent,
but it's because there's a pathway here where Isaiah Davis could be the number one back in New York
and a player that sees a very high weekly touch total if Breece Hall gets moved.
It seems to me like Breece Hall could get there.
It's going to be a wild next two, a little less than two weeks here, right, for the trade deadline?
Two weeks, November 4th.
November 4th.
So I don't know.
I kind of feel like the wheels are in motion.
I'll call it 50-50 that Bruce Hall gets moved.
Maybe I'm a little optimistic on that one.
but your enthusiasm level for Isaiah Davis is a speculative event.
Yeah, I think it's worth it at this point.
And now we saw Breece Hall.
He played through the injury, but he did pick up a little bit of an ankle injury in week eight, week seven.
So if they are looking to potentially move him, maybe they decide to rest him here.
They have a game in week eight before a buy during the trade deadline week.
So maybe they decide to take it easy on Breece Hall.
and I was reading Diana Rossini of the athletic yesterday.
And he was one of the,
Brice Hall is one of the players that teams have been calling about.
And they've definitely been shopping him around a little bit.
And why not?
You're 0 and 7 right now.
This team is going nowhere.
It needs a total rebuild at this point.
You can probably use some picks to build this roster back up.
So we know Brayland Hall.
That was a nasty knee injury that he suffered on Monday night football.
back in week four.
So it looks like he may be out of the mix for the rest of the season.
So this backfield could be all Isaiah Davis moving forward.
And he does have some passing game chops.
He does, you know, that's one area where he excels.
And it's certainly starting to look like we're going to see Tyrod Taylor,
probably getting the majority of the starts in the second half of the season.
And that's a positive thing for this offense right now.
It's been a disaster with Justin Fields.
We saw him get benched this past week.
Maybe they give him one more try here in week eight before they're by,
but I could see Tyrod Taylor getting the majority of the starts in the second half of the season.
So that will lift up everybody a little bit in this offense moving forward.
So I think Davis right now, only 5% owned in Yahoo Ligs, is worth picking up and just to see what happens over the next two weeks.
Joe, another backup running back that's interesting is a.
Manuel Wilson and anybody who had a secondary waiver wire run in their league,
Emmanuel Wilson was heavily added like Saturday night, Sunday morning, because we had this
scare that Josh Jacobs was going to be out. He was sick. And he had a calf injury. Jacobs played
through it. He's an absolute warrior, scored two touchdowns, had 18 PPR points. But
Emmanuel Wilson continues to outtouch Chris Brooks. How excited would you be to add Wilson just based
on the way that this Green Bay offense is sort of run, the run heavy nature and the importance
of running back touches. I mean, he's a, he's a handcuff right now. That's what he is.
And Josh Jacobs is dinged up. So there's always a, there's always a value in doing that. And Green Bay is
a good football team. So that's, that's a guy who you're going to have an opportunity to play.
Like you might say, Isaiah Davis, great. Maybe he's the starter coming out of the buy,
but what's the value of Isaiah Davis being a starter on a team that.
that's looking to negatively run the table.
So Emmanuel Wilson, to me, he's a handcuff and you're betting on an injury.
Josh Jacobs already has a little bit of an injury.
So I think there's value there in Emmanuel Wilson, but not somebody I'm running all the way to the Waverwire with with anticipation to get.
Yeah, it's a contingent upside play only.
But like you said, it's a true handcuff with clarity there.
So he does have viability.
If Jacobs were to miss time, I think Wilson would go right.
into our lineup sort of as a running back two level player. Tom, your thoughts on the Arizona
backfield right now. We saw a significant touch increase, relatively speaking, for Bam Knight
versus Michael Carter. You also have Trey Benson looming eligible to come off of IR, I believe,
on the 9th of November. Which way are you handling this with now Arizona being one of many teams
heading into the by week? Yeah, it's one where I'd lean toward Bam, but they're not priority pickups.
as you said, Benson is available to come off the waiver wire starting off the injured reserve
in week 10.
So they only have one more game.
We'll see if Benson is able to come back at that time.
But they are on by this week.
But Bam Knight has, we saw him elevated to that lead role last week.
And he continued to handle most of the work in this back deal compared to Michael Carter.
And this was a game that they were kind of trailing in a little bit.
So we were wondering if they were playing from behind a lot against the Packers,
would that kind of tilt the backfield towards Michael Carter?
It didn't really happen that way.
And Bam Knight was much more successful, you know, running for 57 yards on his 14 carries.
Carter, you know, just 11 yards on seven carries.
So I think this backfield is going to still lean toward Bam Knight after their week eight by.
But we also have Trey Benson coming back in the near future.
So this is one of those.
it's not a priority for me off the wave of wire this week.
Yeah, Benson's actually, I feel like a fun one, Tom,
and I think that's one that not a lot of people are talking about,
just because it's such a ugly running back room right now
that sort of the Trey Benson narrative and the thesis that we had,
I mean, we were very excited to talk about Trey Benson
when James Connor went down with the season ending injury.
I think Trey Benson, as soon as he's healthy and he's able to handle it,
is going to step back into a potential bell cow role.
So if you have the room to kind of stash Trey Benson,
I think he's an interesting one, definitely cut in a lot of leagues without IR spots.
One other player to mention, we talked about two seventh round rookie running backs to the lead off the show.
We'll talk about a sixth round one.
Devin Neal now has a pathway with Kendrae Miller.
Kenrae Miller's missed so much time in his career, gets injured again.
Alvin Kamara will add him to the list of players who probably doesn't get traded,
but it's never say never time in New Orleans that they're trending down significantly as a team.
Devin Neal is an interesting one to stash.
Let's pivot over to the wide receiver position.
Joe Dolan, Xavier Leggett, had a huge game.
Is this a player you're interested in adding?
It's been sort of a forgotten man in the Carolina wide receiver room.
We've talked about Teteroa McMillan Macmillan a ton.
Jalen Coker, sort of an uninspiring debut game for him.
And it coincided with Xavier Leggett having this massive scoring game.
first round pick in 2024, Xavier Liget, obviously a big time athlete.
Is this just a one week type barrage or is this something you think we could see a role trending and growing in the second half of the year?
Well, this is a player who's fared pretty well in his career when Andy Dalton was the quarterback.
And Andy Dalton, breaking news guys, is going to be the quarterback in week eight because Bryce Young has a high ankle spring,
which is probably a one, two, three week injury, maybe even longer, as we've seen with James.
J. McCarthy. You know, Lee Gets an interesting player to me because I think he's somebody
Panthers fans complain about because he was a first round pick. But when you watch Lee Get
and where he wins, there's a place for him in the league. He scores touchdowns. He's got a big
body. He's good in the red zone. And he's fast. So I know he's had trouble with drops.
But if he gets the ball in his hands, he's a tough guy to bring down. To me, he is like the
ideal by week fill-in wide receiver because you know they look for him in the red zone.
He's got speed to make a big play.
So we get his zero risk is as high as anybody's out there.
But this is a guy who has scored touchdowns in his brief career.
And while he might not be the guy they drafted as a first round go-to type of receiver,
he is a usable NFL receiver and he wins in an important area.
He gets touchdowns.
They're going to have to score points this coming week against Buffalo in that week eight,
eight showdown.
So Xavier Leggett would be somebody I would be interested in in a wide receiver three spot
if I need it.
Yeah, I think that's a great way of putting it.
Andy Dalton has certainly had viability last year.
And I think it's a it's a backup quarterback that we're confident is going to pass the ball
when he's in there.
So I think you nailed it with Leggett.
And just a quick reminder to everyone, we keep bringing up the bye weeks.
want everybody listening to this to take a deep look at all of your fantasy rosters. Week
eight, it's six teams on by. Jacksonville, Vegas, Detroit, Arizona, the L.A. Rams and the Seattle
Seahawks. But then week nine, we have four teams on by. And week 10, we have four teams on by.
So if you're a fantasy points listener, one who watches us on YouTube, try to be a week ahead.
Being a week ahead is the best way of handling this sort of biweek hell weeks. Another
great way of handling it is just attacking very good offenses and sticking those sort of
players in your flex spots. It makes life a little more fun when you're taking a gamble on a
player on a team who's scoring 30 plus every single week. Tom, let's talk about Alec Pierce.
We talked about the context of the Indianapolis Colts when we were just having a conversation
before the show about just how unbelievable this offensive turnaround has been.
we told you to add Daniel Jones week one, hopefully you listened to us on that.
He's been absolutely fantastic.
Tyler Warren, one of the best players he could have drafted at ADP at the tight end spot.
Jonathan Taylor looking like a league winner, Michael Pittman having a massive bounceback season.
But let's talk about Alec Pierce, who last on Sunday, another huge win for Indianapolis on the road in L.A.
Alec Pierce leads them in targets with 10.
catches five passes, goes over 90 receiving yards.
Tom, what's interesting was Josh Downs was out, and Adonai Mitchell's in the doghouse.
Alec Pierce has given us some pretty good numbers multiple weeks this season.
Your enthusiasm levels for adding him as sort of a throw him in the flex, kind of high upside player.
Yeah, he's quietly been very good in this offense, 36 or more yards in every game that he's played in.
he's gotten to 48 yards in four straight games as well.
And had the big game yesterday on Sunday against the Chargers,
maybe he wouldn't expect it.
I mean, going against the Chargers team that doesn't let up a lot of deep passes.
But they were attacking down the field on the Chargers.
And that tells you how much confidence they have right now in Daniel Jones
and Alec Pierce to really attack a defense that's trying to prevent long play.
So Pierce is kind of locked in here.
He's been ahead of Josh Downs all season long.
he's been a guy in my waiver wire report who's been a lot higher than the rest of the industry.
I mean, he's playing a lot in a good offense.
He hasn't scored yet, but he's getting these downfield opportunities.
It wouldn't surprise me if you continue to see all these downfield looks that maybe he goes on a little touchdown binge in the next couple of weeks and scores two or three touchdowns in a five-game span.
He's, he's, you know, racking up a lot of yards per reception.
and usually that kind of leads the touchdowns, and it really hasn't yet,
but he's getting those opportunities, and we'll see about Josh Downs and the concussion
and everything.
But Alec Pierce has a pretty prominent role in this offense that's really flourishing right now.
So I think he should be picked up.
As you said, we're entering some very big buy weeks here coming up, and a lot of guys are
going to be out.
And like I'd rather take a chance on a guy like Alec Pierce, who may come up with
a big play or two, then some of these low end options that could be, you know, playing a little bit more in a bad offense.
I'd rather go for a little bit more upside if I'm kind of reaching for some plays with some of my stars out of the lineup in the next couple of weeks.
Pierce feels like a guy who's going to have a 25 point week at some point, just based on the role, based on the quality of the offense.
He's a next level type athlete. We saw him have a bunch of boom weeks last year.
was one of the only players who was able to sort of function with Anthony Richardson,
but now you're seeing him able to produce with multiple quarterbacks.
I think Alec Pierce is a really, really fun ad in sort of a limited week,
not the greatest week at the wide receiver position for sure.
Joe, let's talk about another day three rookie Jalen Lane out of Virginia Tech.
We saw him down at the Senior Bowl, sort of a big time, big time athlete.
Washington viewed him as the best returner in this class.
saying this is the best rookie returner in this entire class.
But he's taken on a larger role, played 70% of snaps, I think a little bit fewer than
that, but close to 70% of snaps.
Washington is decimated.
You now see Jaden Daniels getting hurt.
Debo Samuel missed this past week.
Terry McLaren continues to be hurt.
Your thoughts on Jalen Lane in sort of a increased role here.
The problem with this team is my greatest fears for Washington have kind of emerged.
like Tom you can you can attest to this I can't tell you how many times I said on best
bets or on the serious XM morning show this off season that I hated their off season they
just went out I understand it but I hated it because they just went out and got to a bunch
of old guys on a team that was already old and on a team that had no speed and they had no speed
and Terry McLaren held out now Terry McLaren's hurt they still don't have speed Debo's now
hurt and we know Debo's a player who doesn't play well through injury he's a guy
who needs to be 100%.
Jalen Lane gives them something
that they don't have otherwise
and it's speed.
Now the problem is Marcus Mariotta
is going to be the quarterback who's a good backup,
but he went full Will Levis in that game
against Dallas with a terrible pick six
thrown across his body while he had a defender
wrapped around him.
He to me is like a much lower end addition
in the same vein of Xavier Liga and Alec Pierce.
I would rank them Pierce Leaget Lane right now,
just because Leaget's shown he's a good red zone option.
I think Alec Pierce is playing in arguably the best offense in the NFL right now,
while Jalen Lane is kind of playing out of necessity in an offense that's probably going to have
a backup quarterback for a week or two.
That might be viable in a 14-teen league when you've got six teams on by,
but not a guy I'm like overly thrilled about.
If he's out there in like an FFPC Dynasty League, that's a different story.
But for redraft, I think you need to pray for a big play here.
And I think the other two guys are more likely to provide it.
Yeah, I hear you.
It's a really tough sort of dart throw when it comes to Lane.
It is a plus athlete, like you said, on a team that's devoid of them.
And Opportunity Knox, there's going to be some yolo balls to Jalen Lane if this offense is in trailing situations with Marcus Mariotta.
Tom, your thoughts on Chim D.K.
We're continuing to talk about these day three rookies.
Jim D.K was the, I believe, the first pick in the fourth round out of Florida,
big time, big time athlete.
We saw him have his best game of the season.
Four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.
He has seven manufactured rush attempts this year.
It's a player that seems sort of like a player they're going to try to get some manufactured
touches for.
Is this a one week sample size where just,
keep him on the waiver wire, or are you interested in adding him and seeing where this role goes now
with Calvin Ridley missing games with a hamstring injury? Yeah, I think it's worth it in very deep
format, you know, your FFPCs or just to see what happens here. As you said, it was a lot of
manufactured touches early in his career here, some carries, some design targets around the line of
scrimmage, but we finally got to see him a little bit as a downfield receiver in week seven
against the Patriots.
So hopefully that continues.
We'll see about Calvin Ridley's status over the next couple of weeks.
He didn't seem particularly close to playing.
Maybe he's a guy that they looked to move if they can if somebody's interested in that
taking on that contract.
So he's a name that hasn't really been brought up a whole lot.
But the Titans should be looking to tear things down that have a little bit of value at this
point.
So we tend to see rookies play more anyway in the second half of seasons.
especially on these bad teams.
So Chim Ray D.K.
Could be one of these guys that gets more playing time.
And he's an explosive player.
He's more from like special teams.
And that's why they kind of draft him.
But he does have this kind of raw ability that they could, you know,
tap into a little bit here.
And we like to eat like Ayur manner a lot before the draft and this summer.
But it just really isn't happening right now.
He's been kind of quiet here over the last month.
So there is an opening here for D.K.
to potentially grab a bigger role.
So I don't know if I'm like dying to put him into a lineup right now.
But as somebody that could be a fantasy option in the second half of the season,
I think he's worth a pickup right now.
Yeah, I Amator's production is really lagging.
And it's not because of a lack of targets.
I mean, Tennessee's going to be a team that's not running a ton of plays here.
But the targets for Tennessee,
for Aya Manor, he's had five or more targets in all but one game this year.
And the production is just not there.
A straight month where he hasn't cracked seven PPR points.
So I think if Chim Dike might be a speculative ad,
just sort of see where this thing goes,
a player that you always see it, guys,
every single year there's a couple of players who become viable
during the fantasy football playoffs and they have like a random role.
Chim D.K. at least has the relative explosiveness and athleticism.
Joe Dolan,
we have back-to-back games with Kishon Booty scoring and looking good.
Are we back on the Booty Banwagon?
He had his best game of the year in week six,
follows it up with a touchdown score in week seven,
13 PPR points for Kishon Booty.
His best two-week scoring numbers of the entire season back-to-back.
Patriots offense continues to score.
Your thoughts on Booty.
Yeah, I mean, he's tied to Drake May,
who's the breakout quarterback of the season.
That's the analysis I have.
And I think that's a guy worth having on rosters in basically every league.
It looks like Stefan Diggs is the one.
But, you know, he's older.
He came into this week with a chest injuries coming off an ACL.
So I don't know if those two huge games that Stefan Diggs had are going to be the norm.
I'll take the receiver, the young receiver tied to the one of the most ascendant
quarterbacks in the league.
That's simple analysis to me.
And by the way, not for nothing.
we thought that one of their most explosive players
was going to be Trayvion Henderson.
The guy can't even get on the field.
So they need somebody who can create an explosive play down the field
and Kachan Booty has been that guy for them.
Yeah, it's depressing stuff with Trayvion Henderson.
He's completely, completely buried right now.
The gap between him and Stevenson in the touches is growing every single week.
It was like 20 to 2 yesterday.
Really, really ugly stuff for Trayvion Henderson.
Let's take one more quick break, guys.
We come back.
Let's talk about some interesting,
tight ends on the wire and also some quarterbacks, a ton of replacement
quarterbacks this week that we need to get through right after this.
Welcome back, Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger with Joe Dolan and Tom Brawley
every single week here giving you the waiver wire ads you need and the sleepers you need
to be one week ahead on the waiver wire. Make sure you're checking out my reaction show that
drops every Monday morning. The StartSit show I record with Graham Barfield. And then I have a guest
show every single week here on Fantasy Football Daily.
Make sure you're checking out everything over at FantasyPoint.com as well.
Guys, let's talk about it.
Let's start it off with the tight ends before we get to some of these quarterbacks.
A quick reminder that we've been telling you to add Arronday Gadsden.
Arronday Gadsden, unbelievable.
This is why we talk about being a week ahead, guys.
Arronday Gadsden, you wanted to add last week.
This week goes absolutely nuts.
He's going to be a 50% plus fab.
ad in a lot of leagues, and we could have gotten him last week, guys, for far, far cheaper,
like a 10, 15% guy. So we want to be a week ahead. If Ferrandi Gadsden is available in your
league, he is an absolute no-brainer, 164 receiving yards, seven catches, nine targets,
and that gives him 17 targets over the last two weeks, unbelievable. One other player,
though, Tom, I want to get your opinion on. And it's sort of a blast from the past, who's been a
Waverwire add multiple seasons of his career. Pat Friarmouth was pretty good in the second half of
last season. He had a lot of backloaded scoring for us in fantasy football in the 2024 season.
And it's sort of under the radar here. But if you look at his splits, like from week eight on last
year, gave us a bunch of fantasy viable weeks. The Thursday night game was incredibly entertaining,
really, really a fun one with Joe Flacko and Aaron Rogers going head to head.
But Pat Friarmouth went nuts.
He had five catches, 111 yards, two touchdown grabs on six targets.
Your enthusiasm levels for Pat Friermouth, was this a one week mirage?
Or is he becoming a thing with Aaron Rogers behind center?
I lean towards it probably being more of a one week, you know, mirage here than anything.
They're still using all three of these tight ends, quite a bit.
bit with Pat Friarmooth, Johnny Smith and Darnel, Washington, and all three of them ended up
scoring touchdowns in that game against the Bengals. So it's kind of difficult to kind of parse through
this. But I will say he's at least looking good as maybe you could pick him up and maybe play
him this week. He's got a Packers matchup this week. They've been giving up a lot of productions
to tight ends. Maybe he can, you know, kind of parlay it again into this week and in that easier
matchup and I think he's definitely the second best receiving option that they have on offense right now,
but they just haven't been able to get him on the field enough, but maybe that's something that
needs to change in the future.
And I do know, like, following all the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the summer and Pat
Farrow-R-Muth and Aaron Rogers did have probably the chummiest relationship between the new receivers
with Aaron Rogers.
So, and they looked on the same page on a couple of those throws, you know, the touchdown late in the game.
He kind of settled down, down the field and Rogers, you know, chucked it way down the field and scored the long touchdown there.
So, and there was a lot of trust on that third and 18 over the middle in the end zone touchdown pass that he had there.
So there's certainly something to build off here.
But anytime you're going to trust one of these tight ends, I fear that Arthur Smith will do his, do his,
darn just to get somebody else involved at the tight end position.
So I think he's worth, you know, picking up in some deeper leagues and tight end premium
leagues seeing what you get out of them against this Packers defense in week eight.
But I'm leaning towards the pessimistic side here.
Joe, do you agree on this or are you adding the former Penn State Nittany Lion to your fantasy
teams?
Arthur Smith just had probably his best night since his wedding night, in arguably better.
Four touchdown passes for Aaron Rogers and they went to three.
different tight ends.
That is an Arthur Smith wet dream.
There's no way I can trust Pat Friar Muth in the lineup.
There's just no chance.
Like, we talk every week about these guys that we are juggling between like tight end
eight and tight end 20.
And going with a Steelers tight end just seems like,
it's like tattooing yourself with a guitar string, man.
Like, you are purposely inflicting pain on yourself.
And maybe you're a better artist than you thought.
And it turns out to be all right, but it still hurt like hell.
I am not doing this with a Steeler tight end.
I cannot bring myself to do it.
Okay, so Joe, we'll stay with you.
You don't want to add a Steeler tight end.
If Theo Johnson is still available in your leagues or he was rage cut after his four point performance in week six,
Theo Johnson now has four touchdown grabs his last four games.
And three out of the four have been 10 PPR points or more.
had a one of the plays was definitely fortuitous
caught a ricochet touchdown but he still had seven targets
and Theo Johnson's been scoring it and I'll say like
you know it's the ball bounced in his hand but he was in the right
place sort of deal let's let's give him a glass half full on that one
I'd rather have Theo Johnson than Pat Rearmament
just because he the target tree is much more condensed there
at least at the tight end position so I give me
Theo Johnson over Fryman for sure Tom you agree on that one
Absolutely. It hasn't been great for Theo outside of the touchdown so far, but he is, he's an athletic player here. So hopefully they start targeting him downfield a little bit more. And as you said, he did make a play and, you know, he showed some of that speed to score the long touchdown there. I'll throw out Noah Fant as a potential tight end as well. The Bengals are going through a lot of injury issues right now with Micahisicki and Tanner Hudson has a concussion. So maybe Fant can.
stay relevant here for another week or two.
They got a Jets match up this week.
And Joe Flacco certainly made that offense hum a little bit better against the Steelers.
So hopefully there's a little bit of optimism moving forward for Noah Fant and the rest of
this Bengals passing game.
So he's a lower end guy.
I would probably like a little bit more than Pat Farramuth too.
Yeah, a Fant is definitely, definitely interesting.
Keeping on him, especially in tight end premium formats, it's another Joe Flacco revenge game
this week against the Jets.
and it could be a hang a number on the Jets type game.
It feels like the Jets, it's one of those things, guys, where the Jets defense has been
really, really, really good the last two weeks.
The special teams have been really, really good.
It feels like the Levy might fully break this week against a Bengals offense that's humming.
And I'll add, just as a speculative ad, Terrence Ferguson played 49% of snaps.
We've seen this tight end class, this rookie tight end class is just awesome.
And guys, to put it in perspective, Colson Loveland's done zero.
and this tight end class is still just producing multiple players,
Gadsen, Harold Fanon, Tyler Warren, Mason, Mason Taylor,
so many guys coming out of this class.
We could see a scenario where over the last six games of the year,
you're going to want to put Terrence Ferguson in your lineup.
McVeigh's very high on him.
He's got that athleticism, really an interesting stash in tight end premium and deeper formats.
Let's talk about the quarterbacks, guys.
And let's start out with Joe Flacco.
Joe Flacco is just absolutely on on on spitters right now.
Like this is an incredible performance from Flacco.
He even had a big run towards the end of the game.
I mean, what else can you ask for when it comes to Flacco?
342 passing yards, three touchdowns, 23 targets to Jemar Chase.
Joe Flacco has the best offensive skill position player he's ever played with in Jamar Chase.
Chase looks like a real threat to be our first back-to-back wide receiver one overall finisher
since like Antonio Brown DeAndre Hopkins time.
Flacco, what is his viability level in Super Flex leagues?
Like, what's your enthusiasm level, Joe?
Is this, dare I say it, Joe Flacco Cleveland, part two,
where he's actually going to give us sort of high-end QB2, low-end QB-1 numbers throughout the season?
He has five passing touchdowns in two games played.
including one against a tough, two of them came against a very tough Green Bay Packers defense.
Your thoughts on this, Joe?
Well, this is a perfect example of how my fantasy football season is going in many ways.
When I was so quick to the waiver wire when Dylan Gabriel was announced as the Brown starter
in a Superflex league and I dropped Flacco like a bad habit, of course, of course, why would I keep Joe Flacko on my Superflex team?
He ends up getting traded to the Bengals and reviving that offense.
Now, look, the Theo, he's completely viable.
I do think just by nature of what the Bengals are,
a Joe Flacco stinker or two is coming,
where he throws two, three interceptions,
and their offense just doesn't get moving.
But the fact of the matter is he's a significant upgrade over what they had.
And when you have T. Higgins and you have Jemar Chase
and a quarterback who's competent enough to throw them the ball,
there are going to be games like Thursday night where he puts up quarterback one number.
So no, he is absolutely 100% viable.
And this week, they are favored against the Jets.
So maybe not even the best matchup to use him because Chase Brown finally got off to Schneide last week.
So maybe they run the ball a little bit more against the Jets.
And some of these other veteran options are better, better for this week in particular.
But I think Flacco in terms of a long term guy to have on a bench or in a super flex lineup,
completely viable.
It's a perfect storm too, fantasy-wise, because Cincinnati has a very generous defense, and they're going to pass the ball a ton.
So Flacco is going to get there with passing volume.
It's just wild to see Flacco in this role, producing at this level.
And he's a guy you really have come to kind of root for.
Tom, your thoughts on Tyrod Taylor taking over a sort of moribound New York Jets offense.
You can summarize this in as many words as you'd like, Tom.
Yeah, I'd have some interest in some, you know, as a second quarterback, third quarterback if you can.
I do think he is going to get starts in the second half of the season.
It's pretty clear.
Justin Fields is not the answer.
I do think they're, we'll see what happens here over the next day or two.
But they could get him one more start here in week eight.
And if he stinks again and he can't do anything against the Bengals, I think we could see a permanent quarterback change coming out of their week nine by.
So, but Tyrod will run around a little bit.
He'll have Garrett Wilson, hopefully available in the second half of the season.
So there's worse pickups and they're going to be playing from behind in a lot of weeks.
So probably the ball's going to be in his hands a little bit.
But I do worry about the lack of weapons here.
We're talking about Breece Hall potentially getting traded.
You know, it's just Garrett Wilson and potentially Mason Taylor for him to work with.
So it's going to limit his upside most weeks.
weeks, but I do think he is headed towards some starts here in the second half of the season.
Yeah, Tyrod, we can kind of go back to week three to see what like a full Tyrod experience would
look like. He does have eight rush attempts in that game. So there will be rush attempts when
Tyrod's behind center. He's sort of a low ceiling option for super flex managers, but he does
have a baked-in floor because of the rushing work. But it's a, I mean, guys, it's not, it's not a great,
it's not a great floor that we should be chasing.
Joe, you mentioned Andy Dalton.
Your enthusiasm level for him, specifically here in week eight,
the red rifle back in fantasy lineups.
Again, we like some of these skill position players in Carolina.
Carolina's been winning games here.
You mentioned Legat.
He'll have Tedroo McMillan.
He's going to have Jell and Koker.
And then the two-headed backfield,
Rico Dattle continues to produce on a per-touch basis.
Chuba Hubbard now back as well.
some kind of positives with this Carolina team right now.
And there's seven and a half point underdogs,
which would insinuate that they're going to have to be playing from behind
against Buffalo this coming week.
Last year, in a number of starts here as well,
his first start last year was against the Raiders,
319 and three touchdowns, 220 and one touchdown,
a 136 and an interception, not very good.
221 and two touchdowns with two picks.
So there were some viable weeks last year for Andy Dalton,
just going based on the box scored back in napkin, Matt.
probably we remember it being better than it actually was because of how brutal Bryce Young was at the start of last season.
But certainly a viable option with better weaponry than he had last season because Taita Roa McMillan is there for Andy Dalton.
So I think he's absolutely a viable streamer this week against Buffalo.
I did see Ian Rapp report mentioned or there was another reporter who mentioned, forgive me.
It might actually have been a Panthers reporter who said they're hoping it's just a one week injury for Brian.
Price Young. But if you need Andy Dalton, this is a great environment to play him in at seven and a half point underdogs. Yeah, and I'll mention Michael Pennox because I feel like this is going to be one of these players that's continually added and dropped. We've talked about how he's been very good at home and he's been very poor on the road. San Francisco gives you a low end game. It was 240 passing yards and a touchdown. But if we go back to week one against Tampa Bay, week four against Washington, his two best games of the year, this week they have the Miami.
Dolphins. Atlanta, I think, is going to absolutely put it on the Miami Dolphins. And in a week
where there's multiple teams on buy, I think Pennix becomes viable for a lot of very desperate
fantasy managers. Guys, a lot of fun, really, really good one. If you want much more detailed,
