Theo Greminger, Fantasy Football Daily.
Today I'm joined by Greg Branos of the CoachSpeak Index.
The Coach Speak Index has become a massive source of information for fantasy managers over on X.
Over the years, this is just sort of like blown up.
We're going to get a chance to talk to Greg about the CoachSpeak Index and how it can help us as fantasy managers.
But we've got to talk about Greg's amazing article.
that he dropped for fantasy points.
This came out just a couple days ago,
looking at some of the coach speak regarding the NFL draft
and gambling markets and how we can profit from it.
Let's start out with a pick that fantasy managers all have their eyes on,
the Washington commanders.
This has been sort of a pick where if Washington's on the board
end of the first round,
there's been a lot of hope in the fantasy football community
that Washington pulls the trigger and drafts a running back.
Greg, are they going to do it?
Is the Washington commander is going to combine Jaden Daniels
with one of the most exciting in the backs in the draft,
like an Omarion Hampton or a Trayvion Henderson?
I think if either of those guys are on the board
when Washington picks, they will draft one of those two players.
Dan Quinn recently talking about how much they want to throw to their running backs.
Both of those guys are adept in the passing game.
obviously Trayvon Henderson, you know, one of the best backs.
In the draft, when it comes to that, also a very good pass protector,
which, you know, helps a lot.
But the big thing here that makes me think that they will go running back is that last season,
Dan Quinn, when talking about the running back room, asked about the running back room,
just talking about his offense would often bring up Brian Robinson Jr.'s name,
unprompted.
It was one of the first two players that he talked about.
when he came to the commanders when he was asked about who are you excited about working with he said
tyriman corn ryan robinson junior and that kind of set the pains for the rest of the season
ryan robinson junior his name came up a lot often unprompted that did not happen a couple weeks ago
when they had stane queen about the the running back room so maybe it was just a little omission
maybe there's something more going on there i think if we envision someone like traeon henderson
and its offense, what an upgrade that would be over Brian Robinson, Jr. and Austin Eckler.
That's one of these missing pieces there, kind of like with the Denver Broncos.
They just need a really good running back.
And that offense could really, really calm.
I think that it's also a reflective nature of the NFL and how it's a copycat league.
And you look at what Baltimore and Philadelphia was able to get out of their acquisitions for Sequin Barclay and Derek Henry last year.
putting them next to mobile quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hertz,
and those running backs just coming in and turbo charging the offense.
Washington last year averaged like 29 points a game.
They were top four in rushing production.
And it was sort of like despite Brian Robinson and Austin Echler,
I think when you talk about an Omari in Hampton,
you talk about a Trayvion Henderson in that offense,
those guys would,
the chance for home run hitting rushing plays next to the threat of Jaden Daniels,
Plus, like you said, the Cliff Kingsbury offense where, you know, we'll get some screenplays out of that.
Like, that could be a running back room where the talent level just completely, completely takes off.
Let's pivot to a question that how can we profit from this?
How many running backs do you think, using all of your data, get selected in the NFL draft?
Because this is a number where if we're betting on the NFL draft, we could potentially profit here, Greg.
Yeah, when the article came out, I recommended over two and a half running backs in the first round.
And that number, I believe, was plus 235.
It's now down to about plus 120.
So obviously, as in Gently, you're going to go really high in this draft.
Omari and Hampton, I believe, goes in the first round.
I believe Trayvion Henderson goes in the first round as well.
There are a lot of backstops in this draft where, say, Trayvion Henderson or Omari and
Hampton don't go to the Broncos.
Well, you've got Washington, obviously.
You have the Kansas City Chiefs.
Like, could you imagine Trigion Anderson in Andy Reed offense?
I think Baltimore is kind of live maybe for an Omari and Hampton,
like teams that you wouldn't think are in the market for a running back.
If they really, really like one of these guys,
which I know some teams really like Omari and Hampton,
some teams who really like Trayvion on Henderson,
then, yeah, I could see one of the teams in the back end of the first round
taking that third running back.
Yeah, no, Marion Hampton, it's interesting.
Like, I think this guy's got a wide range of outcomes in his landing spot.
And trying to really accurately predict the landing spot for Hampton specifically is difficult.
There's going to be certain teams that might value the Henderson profile more.
There's also, when it comes to Hampton, there's, like, Chicago met with him.
him at 10. The New York Giants met with him. They picked 33. That would be a potential trade up.
I love that you brought up the Baltimore one because Brett Whitefield and I, we discussed this on
this show about two weeks ago and how Baltimore has 11 picks in the NFL draft. They have a 31-year-old
running back. And when we look specifically at their roster, Justice Hill is completely different
player than Derek Henry. There's not a like for like type replacement. When you start
looking at an Omarian Hampton, you can do pretty much a lot of the same things as Derek Henry.
It would be a landing spot where fantasy managers would be very, very frustrated by it,
but you can envision a scenario where like the torch is passed and Omari and Hampton takes
over as early as 2026.
Yeah, for sure.
In fact, right before I jumped on here, I was in the middle of watching today's Eric
DeKost and John Harbaugh press conference and
DeCost was talking about how, you know, contracts play an important decision in the draft when
they're measuring, you know, best player available versus needs that they have. And, you know,
guys who have like one year left on their contract, well, they need to bring in another guy
behind that person. So instead of after Derek Henry, making a big splash and free agency
and grabbing a running back like they did with Derek Henry, well, you can have that
guy on your roster for the next four years now for pretty cheap and you can spend that money
elsewhere. Yeah, super, super interesting one. And that would send kind of sort of shockwaves through.
Let's just continue the running back discussion. You mentioned Denver. This is one where, you know,
when we talked about Denver, you had a lot of takeaways here where is this a situation where
Trayvion Henderson, if he's still on the board at 20,
is he just too perfect of a fit stylistically for Sean Peyton for him to pass up?
Or do you think if he's head to head with Omari and Hampton,
there's going to be people in the room where Hampton ends up being the back for Denver?
Which way do you think this situation goes?
Or do you think that they just pass on a running back in the first round?
Yeah, a lot of people have Hampton mock to Denver.
I actually think if Hampton and Henderson are both on the board at 20, that Denver goes
with Trayvon Henderson over Amari and Hampton.
I just think he's a little bit better fit for that Sean Payton offense and for what
Sean Payton wants to do.
I mean, Hampton, absolutely a good running back, but Henderson kind of a, you know, lift the switch
kind of game changer at any second.
and also gets those matchups and exploits those matchups a little bit better than Hampton does in the passing game.
And that's really what Sean Payton is looking for.
You know, they talk about this joker role.
And it's, you know, just because they got Evan Agrim doesn't mean that they're not looking for another Joker.
And that's like a quote from there, I believe it was from the general manager from George Payton.
So, yeah, I think Henderson would be a great fit.
again, just like with Washington's
offense, I feel like this is one kind of
missing piece here. That would be a really
big difference between what Denver
had last year. They had, all,
everything in place there
on that offense, except
for a competent run
game and a common running
back. They have a really good offensive lot.
They have a really good roster.
This is almost like a luxury
pick for them at 20. They don't
have any huge pressing
needs except for this need for running.
back, which, you know, people devalied the position these days. But listen, if that's the one
missing piece that you have and you have a couple guys there on the board who are able to
change how this offense functions and bringing up to a higher level, you got to take one of those guys.
Yeah, and I think that Henderson is going to really benefit from the success of Jamir Gibbs in
Detroit, where NFL teams are chasing that sort of archetype of back.
There's been so much with the analytics for the value of big plays for NFL offenses.
And if you just have a big play, your chances of scoring go up like 40%.
And Gibbs just hitting is going to really, really help Henderson.
So I think I'm with you.
And I think it's almost a lock where if Denver does indeed pass up running back in round
one. I think they're almost assured to draft a running back in round two. I think that they have to
upgrade that position. And when you look at the current roster, they're basically telling you
where they're going to take one. Joliel McLaughlin, Adrick Estime, the current one, two on the
roster. That's just not doing anything for a quarterback like Bo Nix heading into next season.
The big running back we haven't even discussed is Ashton Genty. We're going to take a quick break
and we come back. We're going to discuss, is Ashton Gentie going to be a Las Vegas raider?
Is he going to be a Chicago bear?

Welcome back, Fantasy Football Daily with Theo Greminger.
joined today by Greg Branos of the CoachSpeak Index.
Greg dropped an amazing article for us over at Fantasy Points.
Check it out at FantasyPoint.com looking at potential NFL landing spots in the draft
and how we can benefit from it by gambling on it in the betting markets.
Talk about the CoachSpeak Index, how it came to be and what you're basically doing all offseason, Greg.
I was tired of getting rug pulled by NFL coaches telling us that Joe Mixon was day to day.
He'd be ready any day.
And then he's out for the rest of the season for the next few months.
And I realized, well, hindsight is 2020, why don't I just go back, look at everything these coaches have said, put it into a database, grade all those things, and build this sort of reliance.
ability profile for these coaches on depth chart and usage and in workload and injury coach
speak and transaction coach speak and I spent a few years building that uh building that database
and uh you know some some some pretty incredible things came out of it some some some were
kind of confirming what we thought about coaches and then others were busting these myths that we
have about coaches that you know Sean McVay and Kyle Shan.
and are not truthful with their with their coach team and I think it's been a pretty incredible tool and watching all of these press conferences from the from the head coaches and general managers and offensive coordinators it is become a huge edge and I think we saw that we've seen that come to fruition you know through several avenues we've seen fantasy um we went 31 and 15 on props last year
because the pro market is so inefficient,
and we got out in front of that,
and we got a ton of closing line value on stuff last year
because I've confirmed this,
because I've reached out to some sportsbook directors,
but they're not watching press conferences.
So things that are being said in these press conferences
that the media is not picking up on
because local beat reporters are more attuned to, like, kind of the team
than they are fancy football and NFL betting.
So we find these nice little edges in these press conferences,
things that these coaches are saying that isn't being picked up.
We apply that to the prop market.
And we put that in our Discord first.
Then an hour later, we'll tweet it out.
And last year we saw incredible line movement in these sort of things.
It really confirms what these sportsbook directors said that, yeah,
the sports books are not watching these press conferences.
Yeah, so my co-host at School of Scott, Scott Barrett, who you interact with a lot.
He's also like looking at the coach speak.
I know that Scott always drops that amazing article where he'll watch at each and every like post-NFL draft conference.
I know you two are collaborating as well.
Talk a little bit about what you have coming out.
Yeah, we're going to do a podcast after each day of the draft this year.
and we're going to be talking about those press conferences.
And it's a lot of content, man.
I mean, every team has their press conference after they're done drafting for that day.
And it could be 20, 30 minutes long.
So it's going to be some very late nights, some very early mornings.
But we got a ton of great content out of these press conferences last year.
kind of gives you a peek at how coaches are immediately viewing these players that they drafted
and how it kind of changes the offense, changes the defense, you know, kind of might give
us a little vision of how they're viewing their offense for this coming up year, maybe scheme
stuff like we get from Michael Daniel every once in a while, just very informative things.
It's another one of these checkpoints that we have in the fantasy season, right?
So you have the combine where you get a lot of great info.
Owners meeting, some NFL draft starts coming out a little bit more from these guys.
We have a ton today of like the pre-draft stuff.
Post-Nepal draft, you know, these guys, we finally have the rosters kind of assembled,
and then that rolls in the training camp.
Yeah, I mean, I think that what you've given the community,
is another edge.
It's, this is like the information age.
And you're basically providing a service where you're sorting through so much and
giving us these big important takeaways.
Ballpark it.
When you talk about the post-NFL draft about how much film are you going to have
to listen to slash watch?
I mean, it's going to be close to about 16 hours, maybe a little bit less 14 or so.
I've gotten pretty good at listening to these on like, you know, 2X speed.
My ears are very attuned to 2X.
I guess listening to all that Buster rhymes growing up really helped me there.
But yeah, it's a ton of stuff.
So maybe I can get through it in 10 or 12 hours or so.
You know, obviously there's more time with having to write down what they say.
Sometimes I'll have to go back.
sometimes I'll need to actually like clip video.
But it's, yeah, it's it's a ton of work during the NFL season.
We get like 30 plus hours of press conferences per week,
which means I get about a 70, 80 hour work week during the NFL season.
A lot of fun, a lot of fun, but we appreciate it.
And when you do get a really big coach beak index takeaway,
like that really provides the ammunition for you to kind of keep going
and shows how beneficial it is.
Really looking forward to that post-NFL draft stuff that you're doing along with Scott.
That's going to be absolute fire.
Let's talk about the Las Vegas Raiders.
This has been the team that right now the betting markets are favoring to select Ashton Genty.
It's sort of like a everything's sort of leading up to this feeling.
Pete Carroll being brought in as head coach, an older coach, who's won a Super Bowl.
Chip Kelly leaving the national champion, Ohio State, a buck-up.
to take the offensive coordinator role,
and of course the trade and contract extension for Gino Smith.
Do the chips get pushed in further?
And does Vegas take Ashton Genti if he's available at six overall?
I think it's leaning that way,
and we're getting a lot of signs pointing in that direction.
Like you mentioned about, you know,
Sequin Barclay and in the run game,
how it's being valued a little bit more now,
because of what the Eagles just did in the trenches and with their backfield.
You got a lot of general managers and head coaches at the combine and at the owner's meeting
talking about this shifts in NFL offenses and how the running back is actually kind of valuable.
And everybody just kept pointing to the Eagles, say, look what the Eagles did.
Look what the Eagles did.
Look at Sequan.
And then you get Raiders general manager, John Spitech, calling running back a really critical position,
which is not a view held by most people, right?
Like that has not been the case for the last few years.
And he points specifically, he says, you saw what the Eagles did this year with the emphasis on the run game and the physicality that comes with it.
Then you look at Pete Carolyn, Chip Kelly, how much these guys like to run the ball.
And you look at Pete Carroll's age.
He's 73, 74 years old.
This guy's here for a good time, not a long NFL time, okay?
This isn't a rebuilding phase for the Raiders.
And it's another team that has a good amount of pieces on offense.
This is a better offensive line than a lot of people give them credit for.
Like they've got the tackle situation worked out.
They have a good young center.
Guards could maybe be a little bit better,
but this is a competent offensive line.
They have a really good receiver.
Could use a second receiver, sure.
Great tight end.
Like, this could be a pretty decent offense.
Obviously, Gino is a really good quarterback.
Like, people who know Ball know this.
So running back would really make sense here.
when we're talking about a difference maker like Ashton Genty,
like how much fun that Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly,
can you imagine them watching Ashton Jenties table and be like,
nah, I think we're going to pass on Ashton Jenty at six.
I think we'd rather overdraft a cornerback who runs in the high four-fives here.
It's interesting.
And I think that you hit on a number of topics.
It's sort of like the Pete Carroll hire is,
is the ultimate go for it right now and go get some wins type higher.
You're right.
I mean, you don't hire an older coach in order for some long, sustained rebuild.
And I think it's another one sort of like Denver,
where Denver has the lack of running backs on the roster.
I mean, you would take Julio McLaughlin and Audric Estimate all day
versus what the Raiders have on the roster right now with the 32-year-old Rahim
Moster, Dylan Lobby, sincere McCormick.
I mean, it just sounds made up that that's the current running back room.
I think it's even to the point where I've seen some rumors out there that that Vegas is not only going to draft Ashton Genty,
but they'll draft a second running back on day two and just make him in competition for the handcuff.
That sort of makes sense with the quality of the class, what Vegas wants to do on offense.
They have the offensive line sort of in play.
And this is a fan base that's rabid and wants to win right now.
Definitely, definitely a fun one.
the another team that's in the gambling markets sort of usually slates in as the number two team
the Chicago Bears Chicago is drafting at 10 overall. They also draft 39 and they draft 41.
Unlike, unlike the Raiders, their quarterback is a younger one in Caleb Williams.
Do you think that this is a situation where even if Genties on the board, they would still consider
going with an offensive lineman, or is this pick sort of Ashton Genty dependent?
Your thoughts here?
I think it's Ashton Genty dependent.
There's no way that Ashton Genty's there at 10, similar to what we're just saying with
Raiders, but I feel even more strongly here because Chicago has a better overall roster
in place.
Yeah, Ben Johnson is not passing up a talent like Ashton Genty at 10.
They have their O-line figured out enough to where, yeah, like Caleb Williams should be fine this season,
and they can have a really good running game behind this O-line.
If Janty is off the board, I do think they probably go offensive line.
There's a chance that they could take Tyler Warren, maybe Ben Johnson is in love with the guy,
and how multiple he could help make the offense.
We don't really know what he thinks of Col.
Komet because no one has asked him what he thinks about
Cole Komet.
But yeah, I think Ashton Genti first, and then if he's not available, I think there's
a chance that they could take a left tackle.
There's some good left tackles that should be available at 10.
Braxton Jones coming off with ankle surgery, just one year left on his contract.
And this would also give them some depth on the offensive line while also getting a guy
at 10 who maybe could be, end up being a starter this year.
And with the 39th and 41st overall picks, they could end up taking offensive linemen or really a Tyler Warren and then addressing running back right there in the second round with a high-end guy like a Quinn Sean Judkins, potentially a Caleb Johnson.
So Chicago is definitely a team that I think is pretty easy to figure out here.
Do you think that there's an outside chance?
We see a team jump Vegas and just to select Ashton Genty.
and if so, do you have sort of a gut feel as to who it would be?
Or do you think this is a draft's going to play out this specific way,
Genty goes at six?
I think there is a long shot that,
and this isn't a scenario of a team trading up,
but I think there's like a small, small chance that Jacksonville
could take Ashton Genty at five.
Liam Cohen would absolutely know what to do with Ashton Genty.
I mean, you look at what he did last year in Tampa now.
Granted, better offensive line there than what Jacksonville has in place.
But this is a guy who, you know, can get the ball into playmaker's hands and really scheme it up well.
And if you scheme things up well for Ashton Genty, you're in a pretty good place.
You know, good things are going to happen there if he lands into a confident situation.
Yeah, 100% that would be a situation we would get excited about in fantasy.
Yeah, I think Liam Cohen's a guy that we really want to embrace.
And that offense needs bodies.
There is a lack of skill position players there.
I think Gentie would have a chance to just completely nuke and annihilate the usage for Bigsby
and certainly for ETN.
And it could create an opportunity for him to get a number of targets in that office.
When we look at the passing game usage for Rashad White and Bucky Irving combined,
genty absorbing a decent amount of that, that would be really, really fantasy friendly.
We're going to take a quick break.
We come back.
We're going to try to figure out where Tyler Warren is going to get selected.

Welcome back, Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger, joined today by Greg Branos of the Coach Speak Index.
You can check out Greg's article right over at Fantasy Points.
Greg, let's talk about Tyler Warren.
This is a player where the betting markets are actually heavily favored now for him to be selected inside of the top 10 overall picks.
He's going to get selected ahead of Brock Bowers if you trust these sort of markets.
Do you see that happening?
And let's talk about a couple landing spots.
I live on Long Island.
There's sort of a lot of steam here with Tyler Warren being in play with the seventh overall pick.
You brought up Carolina at eight overall as a team.
that you think would match up very well with Warren
and might provide us some value in terms of gambling markets.
Yeah, I think he could go at eight.
I put it in the article.
He was the pandas were 23 to 1 to take tight end at the time.
Now that it was down to last time I checked, it was 14 to 1.
Just kind of, I tweeted out this quote from Dave Canales from last year.
I'm like, what they asked, what is your ideal offense look like?
And, you know, he talked about multiple running backs, about three tight-in sets.
He talked a lot about tight-ins and how tight-end friendly his system is, but his dream is to be really, really multiple on offense.
So being able to run that 13 personnel, being able to use a tight-in in his offense or running back or a wide receiver.
now it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's not have i mean they have a little bit of a
passing in with with with bryce young coming out of his shell and growing a little bit last year but
as far as talent is concerned like they don't really have top end offensive receiving talent
on the on the panthers uh jailing koker high i apologize but uh i i mean i could see tyler warren
coming in and immediately making this
Panthers offense more multiple than
they were last year and kind of going
in the direction of that dream that
canal is at this now. It's not going to get them there
right away this year. They still have a long way to go
honestly on both sides of the ball. But like
we see them kind of slowly building
this dream
team.
And they talked about last year. We're good for.
We're going to build both trenches.
And they built the offensive line last year.
And now this year, it's time to build the defensive line,
which they attempted to get Milton Williams,
whipped on that, you know,
ended up with a couple other guys.
But at end of the day, I think they're going to get an edge guy here at 8.
But I just think there's a chance that it's Tyler Warren,
that Dave Canales is just like staring this decision down.
and sees what Tyler Warren can bring to this offense,
and we can really open it up and say, okay,
we'll grab Tyler Warren right here,
and we'll address defensive line later in the draft.
So I think that, you know, Carolina drafting Tyler Warren
would just be about as good as it gets as a landing spot
because you talked about the wide receivers there,
the lack of the number one target wide out,
it creates this pathway for Warren to be potentially 125 targets out the gate and a guy who could end up being a number one target in a passing game.
Pretty much all tight ends that end up being fantasy relevant for us and make an impact for us have to be a number one or number two target in the passing game.
Warren could end up being like top three, top four in tight end targets right away as a rookie.
I think it would also be very reflective on the quality of Warren and,
and Colston Loveland throw them in there.
The quality of the upper echelon tight ends,
when compared to the top wide receivers in this draft class,
I think it would sort of be an indictment.
If Carolina does go past catcher,
and they, in fact, draft Warren and not Ted McMillan there,
that would be a really, really fun one.
Let's try to continue to unpack tight end here.
Let's say Warren goes off the board at seven or eight.
He's off the board.
Colston Loveland's sitting there at 14 for Indianapolis.
Does Indianapolis pull the trigger here on a tight end?
I think they probably do.
Now, at this point, I believe most of the value is gone as far as Indy taking a tight end to the first pick.
I think it was plus 105 or minus 105 right around there now.
But, I mean, they've been talking about a tight end a lot and not even just this year.
They've been talking about it for a couple years now.
now now last year they weren't quite as open about how much they need a tight end they're just talking about how great you know in every gallon tight end would be and then they said but we love our titan room and you know ogletree and mohally cox and jelani woods and we saw how that's turned out for them we saw how that turned out for them last year and then chris ballard just came straight out and said like we have
have gotten enough production from those guys, from that room.
But from that tight-end room that I said that we love, we have not gotten enough
production out of them.
And we need a guy that can really control the middle of the field that teams have to account
for, teams have to defend.
So a guy like Tolston Loveland would help a lot in terms of opening up the middle of the
field and kind of igniting that offense.
But the problem is, do you have a guy who can get him the ball?
And it's sort of a chicken of the egg situation there, right?
Because Chris Ballard changed Stuyken.
This is their last year unless they really fix what's going on.
Jim Mersey just straight up told Chris Ballard fix it.
Fix it.
And like, you have to fix it this year.
So does defending the 14th overall pick on a tight end help you?
like what's going to help you the most?
Well, I know that there's been some talk about them drafting an interior alignment there,
drafting a top-notch guard.
I know they lost fries in free agency.
I don't know.
It just seems like every year we're sort of rooting for Indianapolis to get a long-term
answer at tight end.
This year, they're just in that perfect wheelhouse where if one of these two guys falls
to them, it just makes too much sense.
And you bring up the lack of a quarterback there.
I do think that Loveland would help either Richardson or Daniel Jones, for that matter,
with his overall talent and his ability to just sort of elevate the offense.
You brought up his ability to win in the middle of the field.
He also has yak ability, just to really a plus prospect of the tight end spot.
So I don't know.
I'm sort of there.
There's another team that you've referenced in your article that could potentially be in
play for a tight end.
The Los Angeles Chargers make a lot of sense to me.
they go out and they sign Tyler Conklin.
They have Ladd McConkey, who hit exceptionally well last year as their second round pick.
But when you look at a secondary pass catcher for Los Angeles, they're really sort of lacking.
It's Quentin Johnston.
You've got Mike Williams there.
They lose Josh Palmer.
Bring in Najee Harris.
It seems like this is a team that on paper really could use another weapon.
Not so sure that the coaching staff agrees or is this sort of.
of a smokescreen and Harbaugh wants a big reunion with a Loveland.
I think if Loveland is available there at 22, then yeah, I just don't think he makes it
that far.
I think he probably goes in the top half of the draft.
He's just, he's such a weapon that a lot of these offenses can use.
So obviously the Michigan connection is there.
John Harbaugh knows this guy.
like we all stick the tape but you know john harb uh sorry jim harbaw knows knows them better than anyone
um and they los angeles i mean they really they really need some more firepower like you said
it's it's it's laden mokic and and really that's about it so it's i don't know what kind of
receivers will be available here you know tett's probably off the board matthew golden whatever
you think about him he's he's probably off the board and
You know, it's too early, like, at Jaden Higgins or any of those, those other wide receivers.
So, yeah, if Loveland is here, absolutely.
Otherwise, I'm just not sure there's a ton of catchers, you know, here at this spot,
might be in O'Marie and Hampton kind of situation, or otherwise just a defensive line.
Somebody to replace Joey Bosa.
Yeah, you know, it's, I think it's at the end of the day, I think you sort of nailed it,
where it's a draft that has a lot of defensive tackles and defensive ends.
And that's sort of like Harbaugh's nature to try to draft a lineman.
We saw it last year in the first round when a lot of us wanted them to select Malik neighbors.
Maybe they do it again this year on the defensive side of the ball.
Tons of defensive tackles available this year.
Also, like we said, tons of edge rushers.
So I don't know.
It's sort of like the fantasy community really wants something,
but Jim Harbaugh is just not really there to play ball.
I will bring up, there's another Michigan connection player who I think could be there.
Kenneth Grant, if he's on the board,
I mean, that one makes a lot of sense for the Chargers,
and you get this just mountain of a defensive tackle.
It's a very Harbaugh on brand pick,
and you get the Michigan connection.
So just trying to unpack the tea leaves for what Harbaugh might do.
Yeah.
Kenneth Brank connection is real.
So it might be a missioning guy.
It might not be the one that you're taking up.
Right now, Travis Hunter looks like he's going to overall to Cleveland.
Do you think that this is the way it's moving?
It looks very much that Travis Hunter, the betting markets,
are favoring him being drafted second overall.
Do you think that there's a chance Cleveland trades out of this pick?
Or do you think they're standing padded to and drafting the two-way talent in Hunter?
I think they're sticking there.
I mentioned in the article how I've watched hours now of Andrew Barry and Kevin
Stefanski press conferences since, you know, February.
And the two guys that I come away with the impression that they really love,
that they really covet and would like, number one is Cam Ward,
and second is Travis Hunter.
So I do think it's going to be Hunter.
do think they are going to play him mainly at wide receiver, but still play him at corner.
That's what Andrew Barry has said.
That's what Kevin Stefanti has said.
I think they'll give him a chance to, hey, how many snaps can this guy play?
I don't think it'll be the first game, but I think they'll kind of, you know, as the season goes on,
kind of let him play more snaps on defense.
But yeah, I think it's, I think it's Travis Hunter.
I think they recognize what a unicorn, like what a talent this guy is.
And if you look at it analytically, you have a really good receiver who's really good at cornerback.
And, you know, whether it's playing him, 80% snaps at wide receiver and, you know, just situationally even on third downs or passing downs.
um like analytically it just makes so much sense of hey let's take this guy when you look at what a
receiver is worth and when you look at what a cornerback is worth these are like two
blue chip positions you have a guy that can play both of them so taking him
number two overall when now and people have made the comparison to like fionn sanders or other
people who played two ways and Andrew berry pointed out again
Leon Sanders was never even close to the receiver that Travis Hunter is.
So this isn't just the guy who's like pretty good on both sides of the ball.
This is a guy who's like very, very good on both sides of the ball and has elite ball fields.
And that comes into play as a receiver and as a quarterback.
So I think Cleveland is absolutely loving the chance to get a guy like this at two.
Yeah, and I think that's the way it's going to go.
I think it's Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, and then.
the draft sort of starts at three.
And for me, it's almost a perfect landing spot for him for this thing of ours, fantasy football,
because Denzel Ward is a four-time pro bowler who is under contract.
There's less of a pressure on Travis Hunter to have to step in and fix like somebody's broken secondary.
Cleveland's secondary is fine.
And the defense has some great pieces.
So this is a chance where Travis Hunter could end up playing a predominant role on offense.
They have Jerry Judy, they have David and Joku, they have Cedric Tillman.
You start looking at a Hunter, Judy Tillman, David and Joku pass catcher group.
It's not bad, even despite sort of the lack of quarterback there.
And then you can use Travis Hunter as this really, really good cornerback that can go in on like nickel situations, dime situations.
So it's a really fun one.
And you also have the factor in Kevin Stefanski wants to keep his job.
It's self-preservation.
How could I not play Travis Hunter and get him a lot of offensive snaps there?
So it's fun.
And the division is shootout friendly with the absolute mob in Baltimore and Cincinnati
and those guys, their ability to put 30 plus on the board anytime these teams play
against one another.
So I think we're absolutely rooting for Travis Hunter in Cleveland.
Let's take a quick break.
When we come back,
we're going to talk about some other potential
wide receiver landing spots
with Greg Brannos of the Coach Beak Index.

Welcome back. Fantasy Football Daily, Theo Greminger,
with Greg Branos, the Coachpeak Index.
We're talking wide receiver landing spots.
Let's talk about Dallas at 12.
This is one where in your article, you've discussed that there's sort of a Brian Schottenheimer seems to have an affinity for edge rushers.
This doesn't really seem like a spot that would go with an edge rusher.
Do you think that that's sort of a smokescreen?
You also have Stephen Jones, who has mentioned the need for Dallas to draft an explosive wide receiver,
not really coach speak,
and like sort of front office speak,
reference from me right there.
And then also cornerback
would make a little bit of sense
for Dallas.
And all throughout the wild card pick,
Loveland and Warren,
just because of their quality.
And we mentioned Indianapolis at 14.
We mentioned the Jets and the Panthers at 7,8,
right in between them, Dallas at 12.
They need a secondary pass catcher.
And also those guys are just awesome.
So your thoughts on the way that Dallas is going to go
with pick number 12.
Yeah, Dallas is one of those teams who, like, you don't initially kind of realize
how many needs they actually have on their roster.
So it feels like they could actually go a lot of different ways at 12.
Yeah, like you mentioned Schaheimer when he was asked about the 12th pick.
They said, you're always looking for game changers.
And the first thing that kind of came to his mind was, you know,
he said you're looking for guys who influence the game.
How do you influence the game?
You rush the quarterback.
You get set, strip sacks, fumbles, whatever it is.
You score touchdowns.
And then he starts talking about building it from the outside in.
And the four kind of oppositions are corner, receiver, pass rushers, and offensive tackles.
So that's, you know, obviously a lot of offense right there.
Like I said, I think there's a lot of different ways that they could go.
and how many times in the past have we said like, oh, this position is such an obvious pick for Dallas and everyone just mocks it to them.
And last year we were talking about running back, how they're going to take running back, they're going to take running back and don't take a running back.
So if I'm mocking right now, I'm probably putting Ted McMillan 12 to Dallas, but I'm not at all confident that it's going to be received.
Yeah, I think I'm with you.
I think that that seems like the golden McMillan pick right there.
Is there any chance that that's O'Mari and Hampton?
I don't think it's O'Morian Hampton.
Just talking about positional value and how the Cowboys kind of follow that.
I know Mel Kuyper is mocked it, I think.
That was last three graphs now.
Yeah, Mel Kuiper is really, he's like the only one mocked.
it at this point though.
Yeah.
It's a weird one because they were sort of linked to him.
It would be a complete 180.
Last year it seemed like this was the ultimate.
We don't care about running backs.
We're not going to draft any of them.
We're going to go with Rico Dattle and like the corpse of Zeke Elliott.
And then they go, you know what?
We changed our mind.
We're back in running back at 12.
I think I'm with you, Greg.
I think this is a Ted McMillan or if they want the speed element and they want to go
with the in-state player Matthew Golden there sort of as a.
an elevated Brandon Cook's replacement in like sort of a Jordan Addison role would make a lot of sense as well.
So I'm with you there. Green Bay, Green Bay Packers, this has been a team where you've talked about them as a potential cornerback landing spot.
They really need a wide receiver, though. And they're right in that wheelhouse where guys like a mechagbuka could be there sitting with them on the clock.
They're picking 23. They also could be a potential trade up team if you're just kind of galaxy braining it.
because if you see a golden or a McMillan slide past their over under,
I think those guys both have an over under.
Correct me if I'm wrong, right around 17 and a half in the markets right now.
If one of those guys slide slightly past it,
you're talking about a few spot trade up and Green Bay could have their wide receiver one.
Yeah, their general manager, Brian Guti Kuntz, was asked about them,
you know, never taking a receiver in the first round.
like what's up with the heck and he said you know it's it's never been a philosophy to not take
wide receivers in the first round it just hasn't happened to work out that way like the board
hasn't fallen that way for us but then he added at the same time we've had a lot of second round
receivers that have been pretty good players for us so it's like he's saying it's a possibility
but then adding on that but you know we've had such a good track record in the past
past that we don't necessarily need to take a receiver in the first round.
Like there are good receivers throughout the draft.
Like you just have to be good at finding them and we've been pretty good at finding
them in the in the second round.
There's been really a lot of talking Green Bay, you know, when we're talking about the draft,
mainly it's been about their front defensive line and being able to affect the quarterback,
which they weren't able to do a ton last season.
So I think they go either defensive line or with the whole Jaira Alexander situation,
probably go cornerback, which Matt, Matt LaFleur loves a good corner.
So I feel like they're going defense with their first pick.
And, you know, you've got a guy in the floor who is a good play caller
and has, you know, been able to do pretty good work with kind of being greeted.
that he has in the cover.
One other team that sort of looks offensively oriented, Seattle Seahawks,
they actually have the most day two picks and they're sitting at 18.
There's been some recent steam on them maybe maneuvering to get a big bodied wide receiver
like Tet McMillan.
Do you think you could see Seattle moving up and down trying to get their guy?
I think we could see Seattle do things that blows everyone's mind like they've done.
for the past several years in Seattle.
I mean, we, we see them when they take Jackson Smith and Jigbo.
We're like, whoa, we're not expecting them to take a receiver in the first round here
when the FDK Medcalf and Tyler Lockett,
and then, you know, selecting running backs early in the second round when they already
have, you know, pretty good running backs.
And you have John Schneider talking about offensive guards being overdrafted and overpaid and,
and overpaid and in free agency and how they, you know, he feels like scheme is actually more
important than, uh, than like a skill set for, for an offensive line because you can kind of
get them all together working in the scheme. Then, you know, it's more of a one unit thing
as opposed to like five separate, uh, individuals. So, I mean, we,
offensive lines just like such a need for Seattle.
And talking about them like doing things weird in the past,
I don't know that their roster has been in like such dire shape
at a certain position as it is this year.
And there are there should be a lot of pretty good interior
offensive alignment here at 18.
Man, I just thinking it has to.
to the offensive line here.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It could be a receiver, but, I mean,
Schneider is, like, firmly on the hot seat here, you know?
And if he doesn't, if he doesn't go offensive linemen
and their offensive line sucks again this year,
that's on John Schneider, that's like, that's the last straw, dude.
You know, all this talk about it and you haven't fixed it.
I think, like, this is the Kelvin Banks, Trevor Booker.
This pick just makes a lot of sense.
And then you consider that Seattle has those two second round picks where they could potentially
draft a like, you know, mention a Jaden Higgins, a Trey Harris.
Those guys are going to kind of be in the wheelhouse for them.
Tight end maybe in playing round two as well.
Let's wrap it up here, Greg, at quarterback.
Quarterback is one where, you know, you have the Shudor Sanders situation now.
You have Jackson Dart, Pittsburgh, sitting there at 21.
Is this a team to keep an eye on to maneuver around and potentially,
move up and draft one of these guys?
Or is it Pittsburgh sits there and at 21, if one of these guys falls in their lap,
do they pull the trigger and select them during the NFL draft?
Yeah, I'm not actually sure if they move up.
Obviously, if you have a guy that you like a lot and you're looking,
you know, all these teams are looking at mock tracks and seeing kind of the area in which
players are being mocked.
So they've had meetings with Jalen.
Mill Row and there's been talk that they might be interested in him.
If he's the guy that they really want,
like I don't think they have to move up from 21.
I think they could actually move back maybe a little bit and still take him.
But it really just depends how the draft shakes out, right?
Like if New Orleans takes Jackson Dart at 9, well, okay, now you're down to like Shadour
Sanders and
Jalen Milrow or
you know maybe like Tyler Shult
later
they just haven't like really let
on as to like
which I mean
none of these teams are like really
letting on it's like we really
like this specific player but we do
know what kind of traits they're looking for
Mike Tomlin said in January
that quarterback mobility is very
important to me
it doesn't
really like screaming Aaron Rogers.
Like, you know, maybe, maybe they end up with him kind of as a last resort.
But we know that they did want to keep Justin Fields.
And they were kind of surprised that he left.
But yeah, so quarterback mobility being a thing that, I mean, that certainly kind of says,
okay, Jalen Milrow.
So what do they think of him as a quarterback?
Like, if they're pretty comfortable with him thinking that they can develop him,
then maybe you get Jailen Milrow and you have Aaron Rogers.
and Aaron Rogers is your bridge QB,
and, you know, you roll no row out next season.
L.A. Rams, this is one in your article.
You mentioned them as a potential quarterback, like, surprise team,
where if one of these guys falls,
they're sitting there at, I believe, pick number 26.
Could we see L.A. just make a shock QB pick with the age of Matt Stafford?
Yeah, I don't think it even necessarily be a shock just because, like,
you said about Matthew Stafford's age, the general manager, let Sneed said in March that
we'll probably approach getting Stafford's successor ASAP and is one thing to identify
a quarterback, but it's actually another to be able to acquire him, right? So I think it's definitely
a possibility. Now, what makes this really funny is that Sean McVeigh and April says,
I think it's unlikely we pick a quarterback. I'll be honest with you. I haven't done a whole lot of work
on the quarterbacks, which is funny because, you know, Stafford doesn't have a lot of time left in the league.
Like, your next QV will be starting in, you know, two years from now.
So let's maybe go ahead and find that guy.
Or, you know, maybe he was being honest.
Maybe he didn't start doing his work on the quarterbacks until April 2nd when he said this on April 1st.
but yeah, if a guy like Jackson Dart is on the board there at 26th with the Rams,
then I could absolutely see them taking someone.
I don't see them reaching for, you know, this eventual successor.
But if it's a guy that like really fits a McVeigh system,
and I can see a guy like Jackson Dart being, you know, a good fit for McVay,
then, yeah, I can see that.
But I don't see them trading up for it.
And I probably don't see Dart falling to 26th.
And, you know, when you look at the Rams last season, like, they were the closest in the playoffs to knocking the Eagles out.
Like, we didn't give the Rams much of a chance, but, you know, they found some real success in the playoffs.
And they seem to always just kind of, you know, end up a little better than we expect them because of McVeigh and Steve.
You know, we count them out before the draft, and these guys just draft well every year.
and McVay is always, you know, reinventing himself and staying ahead of the curve.
So this might just be another investment, not in the future, but in this year, and say,
hey, we were really close last year.
Let's keep making a run of the Super Bowl here.
Definitely a team to watch during the NFL draft.
Greg, give us one big, bold prediction, not necessarily from a coach peak,
but just your own vibes that we're going to see during the NFL.
draft. Yeah, like I mentioned earlier, if Omari and Hampton and Trayvion Henderson are on the board
at 20, I think the Denver Broncos go with Trayvion Henderson over O'Moran Hampton. Love that one,
and fantasy managers would as well. Greg, let everybody know what you have coming out. And make sure
you check out Greg's article over at Fantasy Points. Absolutely a good one. What do you have coming out
and what do you have planned for the offseason or the rest of the off season? So we have
Beat Writer Index, which is launching, I think, later today, maybe tomorrow.
But that's going to be out the first phase of that, which is we graded all the mock drafts
from 2021 to 2024 for the top mock drafters like Mel Khyper Jr., Josh Norris,
B.O.B.A., St. and Gruegler, Daniel Jeremiah, Lance Surline, all these guys, we have
all their scores. We have the best grading system for mock draft accuracy.
we took a look at a lot of the ones that are out there, and they're all, I'll be honest, they're all pretty typical, and I'll be happy to go into the reasons for that, but we came up with a really, really great system that looks at things that these great systems should be looking at, like the kind of captured capital in each pick.
So be on the lookout for that.
And then there's a lot of press conferences going on today.
Like I mentioned, NFL draft.
There will be a lot of press conferences.
I watch every single press conference from every head coach, general manager,
offensive coordinator.
And I put the notes from those into the CoachSpeak Index Discord,
which you can find.
It's the pin tweet on our Twitter account at CoachSpeak Index.
And it's just incredibly, incredibly valuable information for the NFL draft,
for the fantasy season for season-long bets during the season.
It'll be super important for crop bets.
Just an insane edge for five bucks a month.
I highly recommend all of Greg's work.
Looking forward to the Beat Reporter Index.
