This is fantasy football today from CBS sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races and he stays on his feet.
It's just going to go the distance.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Welcome to your weekend edition, your Saturday night edition of Fantasy Football today.
The 2026 NFL draft just wrapped up.
So I think day three was arguably more interesting, and that's the word of the day, arguably more interesting than day two.
I'm going to give you, in my opinion, the eight most interesting day three picks from a fantasy perspective.
Okay, we'll go one through eight.
And as we look at these eight picks, some are interesting for 2026, some are interesting for dynasty,
and some are really more about the veterans, the NFL veterans that could be affected.
So here we go.
number one, by the way, it's just me today.
Just to Adam today.
Sorry, folks.
We'll be back on Monday with a rankings update from the guys.
But number one, in round four, Washington running back Jonah Coleman.
He used to be on Washington.
Now he's on Denver.
The Broncos taking Washington Huskies running back Jonah Coleman.
So the Broncos didn't make a pick until the third round.
This was their second pick.
And I find it interesting because, first of all, I like Jonah Coleman.
He's not a burner or anything like that.
You know I like speed.
he's not that guy, but he's a very patient runner.
I think he has good vision, waits to set up his blockers.
It reminds me a little bit of R.J. Harvey with less explosiveness in college.
But why this is so interesting to me is what does this mean for R.J. Harvey.
R.J. Harvey had a pretty bad rookie year.
Now, after J.K. Dobbins got hurt and Dobbins is back.
Weeks 11 through 18, he was the number 14 running back per game.
He averaged 13.7 carries and 3.1 catches per game.
he had two-thirds of the running-back carries.
By adding Jonah Coleman,
I think that this maybe,
if Dobbins gets hurt again,
I think this maybe limits the upside of Harvey.
And I want to point out that R.J. Harvey had one of the worst
explosive play rates in the NFL last year,
which is surprising because he did that pretty well at UCF.
But he had a 2.7% explosive play rate.
That is the worst mark for any rookie in the last 12 seasons.
that's had 100 or more carries.
87 running backs fit that criteria.
Rookie running back with 100 more carries.
RJ Harvey had the worst explosive play rate.
And if you look at that list, who's on it with him,
Christian McCaffrey was around 5%.
He's pretty much the only guy with a low explosive play rate
that became a good NFL running back.
So it's not all hope is lost for Harvey,
but I really don't like that they spent their second pick on Jonah Coleman.
And by the way, we've had some good day three running backs lately.
We've had Bucky Irving, Tyrone Tracy, Damien Pierce.
You want to say Jacoori-Crossi, Marity, he was around 7-Pick.
We've had some other guys once upon a time, Aaron Jones, Chris Carson.
So it's not that crazy.
And Coleman was the fourth running back selected in this draft.
All right.
So number one is Coleman to the Broncos, I think mostly interesting because of what it means for R.J. Harvey.
Number two, Penn State running back, Nicholas Singleton, going to Tennessee.
I don't think this is much of a 2026 play.
I think this is a dynasty play.
Singleton is an interesting prospect.
He broke his foot at the senior bowl.
He was a five-star prospect going into college.
He's got great speed, and he's 219 pounds.
He's a talented guy.
He shared a backfield with Catron Allen.
But why I think this is so interesting is the Titans have shown really no
willingness to give Taijay Spears a big workload.
He has four games in his career with more than 10 carries.
And Tony Pollard's in a contract year.
So Singleton could have an opportunity to be there starting running back
as early as next season.
And he might be a pretty good player.
So he's got some past catching ability as well.
He had 24 catches last year.
He had 41 catches in 15 games in 2024.
I think he's an interesting player and I think has an opportunity in 2027 to have a big
role with the Titans.
All right.
Number three, we get to some wide receivers here.
Skyler Bell to Buffalo.
Yukon's Skyler Bell, one of the most productive wide receivers in the country.
country in 2025.
Fourth most catches, second most receiving yards, third most touchdowns among all wide receivers
last year.
That's 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns and 13 games.
What did he do against ACC opponents?
107 yards and a touchdown against Syracuse.
125 in a touchdown against the Eagle, Boston College Eagles.
87 yards and two touchdowns against Duke.
Duke, I believe they won the ACC, if I'm not mistaken.
They were the championship game.
He's a high A-DOT guy, but look, we want to see these wide receivers go to good destinations.
And Buffalo is a good destination, not necessarily for this year.
But I like Skylar Bell going to Buffalo.
Number four, we're going to stay at wide receiver.
The very next wide receiver taken in this draft, 11 picks later was Bryce Lance from North Dakota State.
His brother, Trey Lance.
You may remember him was the third overall pick once upon a time.
So listen, New Orleans is a second overall pick once upon a time.
So listen.
New Orleans is getting athletic players.
They got Jordan Tyson eighth overall.
They got Oscar Delp the tight end in round two.
Now they take Bryce, or is that round three, I'm sorry.
Now they take Bryce Lance.
And Lance is 6 foot 3, 204 pounds and ran a 43440.
Who does that compare to?
Another guy from North Dakota State.
Christian Watson, 6-4-208 pounds, ran a 4-3-640,
almost identical height weight 40 times for those two guys.
Bryce Lance and Christian Watson.
Very productive players got the size and speed combo.
You just don't know about him because he's a small school guy.
But number four for me is Bryce Lance going to New Orleans in the fourth round,
more of a dynasty play.
All right.
That's our top four.
I'm going to take a little breath here.
Let's go to number five.
Round six, Catron Allen, back to the running backs.
Penn State running back, Ketron Allen.
I talked about how we shared a backfield with Singleton.
Well, now the other Penn State guy, Ketron Allen.
gets selected by Washington.
Now, personally, I don't really love Kajon Allen.
I don't think he has the speed or the explosiveness,
but obviously I could be wrong about that.
This pick got a B plus from Josh Edwards,
but he's a 5-11, 216-pound running back.
I have him at 216.
A website has him at 219.
I think he was 216 at the Combine.
And he had 19 or more carries in each of his last six games.
So why is this so interesting?
He's a sixth round pick.
they're starting running back in Washington, if we think it's Bill.
He was a seventh round pick.
They've already invested more draft capital in Ketron Allen than they didn't,
Jacori Kroski Merritt, who, by the way, couldn't hold off Chris Rodriguez last year.
And they brought in Rashad White, but I think he's more of a change of pace.
I think he's more of a pass catching back.
I think Kachron Allen has a pretty decent shot to be the starting running back for the
commanders at some point this season. That's number five on my list.

Number six, back to the wide receivers.
In round five, the chiefs take Cincinnati wide receiver Cyrus Allen.
I think I'm a little guilty here of being like, oh, it's the chiefs.
It's the bills, right?
I put Skylar Bell to the bills.
Cyrus Allen to the chiefs.
Yeah, look, you want these guys to go to good destinations.
Now the chiefs, rather, they selected defensive players.
Interesting, right?
They had a very good defense last year.
They've had a good defense several years in a row.
They selected defense in rounds one through four.
It got to round five.
They took two offensive players, Emmett Johnson.
who's a very interesting handcuff, perhaps, to an off-injured Ken Walker.
And Cyrus Allen.
So Alan is 5-11, 180 pounds out of Cincinnati.
He's done a little bit of everything.
He's had three seasons with 9 to 10 catches on deep balls.
Last year he had 10 catches on screen passes.
So that's 19 of his 51 catches where either screen passes or deep balls.
Little versatility there.
I don't know that much about him.
I'm not going to lie.
But I like what I saw.
and he goes to the Chiefs.
That's number six.
Let's recap.
Number one was Jonah Coleman to Denver, the running back.
Number two was running back Nicholas Singleton to Tennessee.
Number three was wide receiver, Skylar Bell, to Buffalo.
Number four, wide receiver Bryce Lance to the Saints.
Number five, running back Catron Allen to Washington.
Number six, wide receiver Cyrus Allen to Kansas City.
Yeah, number seven's weird.
You know, there's not a direct path to anything here,
but Baltimore took a lot of big receivers and big players in this draft.
And Elijah Surat is six foot three, two hundred and ten pounds.
He's a round four pick to the Baltimore Ravens.
And it feels like a little bit of a long shot.
Like he's not a great athlete, but that's okay.
Seems like he does a lot of things well on the field.
And in 2024, Sarat was much more productive than Omar Cooper Jr.
who was drafted in the first round by the Jets.
In 2025, Cooper was a little bit more productive than Surat.
So Sarat had two really good years in a row.
He's seven months older than Omar Cooper Jr.
So he's a little bit old.
He's not that old.
Now, Baltimore drafted USC wide receiver Jacoby Lane in round three.
You know, I think about like the Patriots taking Polk and Baker, for example, in the same draft.
People go, oh, Baker might be better than Polk.
Well, I mean, I think they both were, they both haven't really done anything.
But look, if the same, if one team drafted two wide receivers in different rounds, I think that means they liked the guy they took him the third round better than the fourth round.
round, but it's not crazy for me for Surat to outperform him.
This is going to have to be 2027, maybe 2028, where he finally makes his mark unless we get an
injury to Zay Flowers because they just, I don't think they're going to throw that much,
but they do have a new head coach, new coordinator, maybe they'll throw a little bit more.
So number seven is Elijah Surat to Baltimore.
I like the player, and maybe he'll have an opportunity.
All right.
Number eight, finally a quarterback here.
And I would have gone with Garrett Nussmeyer because he fell so far.
right.
Like Shiro Sanders last year fell way too far.
Garrett Nussmeyer went in round seven to the chiefs.
That's too far.
He played all last year with a back issue.
They figured out the reason for it.
They can fix that.
So instead of Nussimai,
because obviously Patch Mahomes,
their quarterback for a while there.
I'm going to go with Cole Payton to the Eagles.
Cole Payton is another small school guy.
North Dakota State had only one season of starting experience.
But from a fantasy standpoint,
he's really interesting Cole Payton because he's a dual threat guy.
I got a big time dual threat guy, put up some big numbers.
I really wouldn't be surprised if Cole Payton were a top 24 pick in Dynasty.
And then you compare him to Nussmeyer.
Nussmire needs an injury to patch Mahomes.
You know, what, I'm not saying that Peyton's going to be second on the depth chart anytime soon,
but I don't know how the Eagles feel about Jalen Hertz at this point.
I don't know if they'd be willing to move on at some point from him.
They gave him a big contract, but it's been, it was a rocky year.
You know, there's so many stories about him not wanting to expand the playbook and things like that.
If they have another bad year, did they just kind of go in a different direction?
This is a very long shot.
Obviously, it's a round five quarterback.
But the Eagles are a great organization.
I have faith in them.
So Cole Payton to the Eagles is number eight on my most interesting picks of round of day three of the 2026 NFL draft.
That is it for our wrap up of day three.
We're going to come back on Monday, like I said, with some updated rankings from Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Thank you all for listening to my ramblings.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
