All right, we've got some big running back news to cover here.
Welcome to a bonus episode of Fantasy Football Today.
Adam Azer and Heath Cummings here on Saturday afternoon.
Cam Akers, we talked about this on our mailbag show,
which we recorded on Friday.
Cam Akers out this week for personal reasons.
And of course, we send him our best.
We hope everything is okay for Cam Akers.
Daryl Henderson thrusts now into his starting role
against the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Taylor and Naeem Hines, both out.
We saw Deion Jackson and Phillip Lindsay
kind of split the work last week.
They will be facing the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Heath, how do you rank those three running backs?
I'm guessing Henderson, Jackson, Lindsay?
It is Henderson, Jackson, Lindsay.
Henderson and Jackson are a little closer
than Lindsey is to the group,
but they're all low-end number two running backs this week.
All potential starting options.
Deion Jackson was rostered in pretty much all the leagues I'm in.
I did go pick up Phillip Lindsey,
and I may start him in a couple places.
I think it's really tough between him and James Robinson.
Let's see.
So just checking on the stats from last week, Jackson, who's
rostered in about 50% of CBS
Sports League's Phillip Lindsay, 3%.
Jackson had 13 carries and
four catches. Phillip Lindsay had 11
carries and three catches.
So Jackson was better,
better yards per carry and whatnot, but also
obviously more familiar with the scheme and the team.
But you love
that. I mean, they combine for
seven catches, so don't overlook that. And yeah, so Henderson is a guy who was a must-start running
back last year before his injury, before he started really splitting with Sonny Michel.
Why don't you rank him higher this week? I don't think the situation in Los Angeles is near as good
as what it was last year. Last year, they were one of the best offenses in football and won the Super Bowl.
This year, they have been an undeniably bad offense.
The offensive line is terrible.
I don't think the situation is near as good,
and I don't think Daryl Henderson is the type of running back
who overcomes that situation.
When you look at the Bills-Chiefs game,
Clyde Edwards-Hilaire, Devin Singletary,
do you like any of these replacement running backs better? I like Clyde Edwards-Hilaire, Devin Singletary. Do you like any of these replacement running backs better?
I like Clyde Edwards-Hilaire better
than all of the replacement running backs.
I like all of the replacement running backs better
than Devin Singletary. When I
say replacement running backs, I'm specifically talking about
these three. I assume you are as well.
Yes. If I included Benjamin,
he would be ahead of everyone we've talked about so far.
And Ken Walker. Ken Walker
is, for me and full PPR, right behind Daryl Henderson.
Okay, I just got an email.
I wish I had more types of these,
but would you start Deion Jackson from Jonathan,
Deion Jackson or Romeo Dobbs or James Robinson, half PPR?
I'm going to go with Deion Jackson.
Okay, and that's what I said as well.
All right, so that's's – yeah, go ahead.
Any guy you had in your lineup who you viewed as a flex
or you were really disappointed that you had to start them at running back this week,
like for me, the Ezekiel Elliott group, A.J. Dillon, James Robinson,
even Melvin Gordon at this point after the news report came out that Latavius Murray would play
and Nathaniel Hackett's excited to see what he can do.
I'm starting Deion Jackson over those guys.
You're starting him over Melvin Gordon, huh?
I am.
Okay.
Just want to mention the Jaguars, who the Colts are playing this week,
are getting, it looks like a little healthier.
A couple of their defensive tackles who were questionable.
They still are questionable, but they were able to practice.
Limited practice.
And the linebacker, Foye Oluokun, all limited practice this week.
So it looks like their defense could be in good shape,
better shape than what we've seen recently.
They haven't missed Foye yet, right?
He's played every game.
He's played every game.
But Foley Fatukasi, their starting defensive tackle, missed last week,
got hurt against the Eagles,
and that's when their run defense really suffered.
I don't know if it's coincidence or not.
Okay, so just wanted to kind of give everybody a frame of mind
based on how should you be feeling about these guys.
Low-end starters, but some potential here.
And Phillip Lindsey is widely available,
so if you're desperate, you might be able to use him. Thank you, Heath, for your
time. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, my friend.
And
for Heath, I'm Adam. We'll talk to you later.
We'll talk to you Sunday morning with probably a very similar
show on Fantasy Football
Today in 5.
