This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
I had no idea.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races, and he stays on his feet.
He's just going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
What's up, everybody?
Welcome to the Mailbag, and welcome to Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM.
It is Adam, Jamie, and Dan here on Friday afternoon getting our weekend on.
And we've got your emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com,
your Apple Podcast questions, and your Draftathon questions.
We thank you so much for your donations.
We appreciate it, and we're going to tell you more ways
that we can raise money for St. Jude together as a team.
What's up, Dan Schneier?
How you doing? I'm glad to be here.
I was here last week on Mailbag,
but now it's more of a reoccurring thing.
I'm excited. It's been a heavy, busy week for us. A lot of content on the editorial side. So I'm excited to get back in the podcast side of this.
Yeah. And Jamie, I'm going to tell you a little bit later, the one hangup I have about this tennis match. Oh, sorry. A little crit cracks in the shield there for Adam starting to realize maybe just maybe I have no chance whatsoever. It's not that even one game in the shield there for Adam. Starting to realize maybe, just maybe.
Not that.
I have no chance whatsoever.
It's not that.
In even one game in the set.
It's not that.
Oh, another injury.
Another injury excuse.
We can't be hearing another one of those.
I'm good.
All right.
All right.
Going to read a few emails to start the show,
and then we have a lot of news to catch up on here.
This one comes from Jeffrey from Tenafly, New Jersey.
Yeah.
Tenafly, New Jersey.
Solid place. Yeah. New Jersey is just a Tenafly, New Jersey. Solid place.
Yeah.
New Jersey is just a collection of random towns.
No one knows where any of them are.
I love your show.
I need your help.
I have the first pick in my 12-team league.
I was no doubt going to take McCaffrey,
but now I'm worried about his calf injury.
Would it be crazy to take Justin Jefferson?
Jamie, would that be crazy?
Jefferson won overall?
It wouldn't be crazy. If you're going to go receiver, I would probably stick with Tyree Kill or CeeDee Lamb, depending on how concerned you are about Lamb on the wide receiver preview, Adam, that it may not be as bad for Jefferson as we thought if Sam Darnold,
you know, just does the appropriate thing and throw him the ball.
So if Jefferson's your guy, then take him.
Yeah, Jacob Gibbs, I shout out his newsletter.
Everybody go sign up.
It's free.
Go to Fantasy Football Today newsletter in Google and you'll find it.
But he did the Minnesota Vikings projection this week,
and he does deep dives into the data and the stats.
And what Jefferson's been able to do at the NFL level
is unparalleled to most receivers that we've seen come out,
including these Hall of Famers, as he kind of referenced.
So if you're taking the best wide receiver in football,
I'm not going to say it's crazy.
It's not the route I would go, but I'm not going to say it's crazy.
All right, next email is from Brian.
As someone who listens to every show year-round,
I appreciate when you occasionally mix in players that get less attention.
I had a thought on a way to talk about some players you don't talk about as much.
My idea for a show segment is to throw out some unlikely
but not impossible situations and then talk about the ramifications.
All right, so he's got four what-ifs here,
and we'll just go through them
really quickly. What if we're wrong about Bo Nix and Drake May? What if they are the top
rookie of the year candidates? I think it's surprising, but not all that surprising to me.
I love Drake Mays as evaluation, but it's more of a long-term thing with May.
Bo Nix though is intriguing. If you look at Sean Payton's history with quarterbacks from a fantasy
standpoint and just from an overall efficiency standpoint, it's pretty phenomenal stuff.
We're talking about players like Teddy Bridgewater, Russell Wilson,
whatever version left of Russell Wilson that we got last year, efficient.
So I wouldn't be totally shocked if this offense for the Broncos
is more efficient than we think with Bo Nix.
What if we're wrong about the Chargers offense?
What if it's not run heavy?
That would be fun.
I'd like to be on that.
Fun and very surprising.
Just given the history of those two together,
but I will say this and I've been saying it for the whole time.
I think there's a good chance if Herbert's fine from a health standpoint,
that this could be the most efficient passing attack.
The chargers have had in Justin Herbert's career.
Cause if you look back at that year,
where's Colin Kaepernick's breakout
with Roman and Harbaugh in San Francisco, he had averaged 11.5 yards per completion,
one of the best in the NFL.
There will be shot plays for this offense, play-action-based shots,
where Herbert can have these defined looks down the field.
You're going to be facing a ton of cover one with middle-of-the-field close,
single-high safety to defend the run, which means there's going to be
some opportunities in the deep half of both sides of the field close, single high safety to defend the run, which means there's going to be some opportunities in the deep half
of both sides of the field for Herbert to flash what I think
is one of the best arms in the entire NFL,
especially on the deep half where he combines velocity and touch.
So I think there's a chance there could be the most efficient version
of this Chargers offense in the passing game.
Okay, I think there's a chance that they're more pass heavy than we think
because they may not have a good running back.
You know, Gus Edwards is at the end of his career.
By the way, can we stop drafting Kamani Vidal?
I just, I don't see...
He's fifth on the depth chart,
and there's just no reason for it.
He's just a name.
He's just a rookie.
I don't know.
That's how I feel.
Don't read depth charts.
I mean...
The problem with ruling him out for me
is that I don't have any trust
that J.K. Dobbins can stay healthy at this stage.
It was great.
We don't have to draft him though.
All right,
fine.
Whatever.
Draft him,
draft him,
whoever you want.
I'm not going to tell you what to do.
I'm not going to sit here and tell you all who to draft.
It's really your job.
Yeah.
I'll do one more.
What if we're wrong about Marvin Harrison Jr.?
What if he's no higher than third on,
on his team and targets?
No way.
Then we're wrong about Kyler Murray.
And we're probably too low on michael wilson and
greg dorch wow i'll say this about those two i think they fit perfectly within the system and
within that whole feel you have a marvin harrison you have a michael wilson and greg dorch i really
feel like i've made this move recently kyler murray is moving way up my quarterback rankings
i currently just move them over cj stroud and I feel very comfortable about that one.
Yeah.
He's six for me.
All right.
This one is from Dave.
I was comparing your PPR consensus rankings versus ESPNs.
And I was wondering if you could talk a little bit about these big gaps.
Devante Adams is ours are better.
Next question.
Devante Adams is number 31 on CBS,
but number 19 on ESPN. I guess that's overall,
not at wide receiver, Jamie Devante Adams. We're lower. We just did this, but go ahead.
Don't ask Jamie about Devante Adams. Dan, why don't you do the Adams one? Because we,
we did a whole bunch, whole thing on Adams on wide receiver preview part two.
Yeah. I mean, look, Adam's an interesting case case because the the positive side of this argument
is look at what happened michael pitman and gardner minshu last year minshu's a lock it in
on your number one target guy filtered targets through him could that happen with adams sure
but the problem is we have uncertainty anyway when it comes to the quarterback position we don't know
if it'll be o'connell and the second side of it is the side jamie brings up which is a great side
of it which is look at the history he's going to have to be a historical outlier at his age
to continue to be as dominant as he's been.
And if he's not as dominant as he's been,
and that quarterback situation is what it is,
and you've got a coach who wants to play 13-10 ballgames right there,
it's not a pretty scenario from a fantasy standpoint.
I'm closer to team ESPN on this one.
I don't think Adams, he's not going to make it to 31. I'm closer to Jamie for sure on this one. All right. I don't think Adams, he's not going to make it to 31.
I'm closer to Jamie for sure on this one.
All right, next up.
Marquise Brown is 61st on CBS
and 86th on ESPN.
And quick disclaimer here,
I didn't fact check these.
So I'm just-
So basically they're just azer staff.
Trusting Dave here in the email.
Marquise Brown is 61st on CBS,
but 86th on ESPN, Jamie.
I think you just say we're higher, they're lower,
they're lower, we're higher. Put the number
to it.
Look, he may
fall considerably
if we continue to move Rice up.
So how much
of Marquise Brown's
early ranking and drafting was
oh, Rice is going to miss X amount of games.
I think that's got to be factored into where the ADP is a little bit,
but I don't mind taking a chance on him,
even if he's the second receiver for Kansas City
or the third receiving option,
because there's still so much upside in Patrick Mahomes' system,
in Patrick Mahomes,
in being paired with Patrick Mahomes' Andy Reid system.
So I'm not afraid to reach for Marquise Brown.
Hollywood Brown has had a phenomenal camp so far.
Patrick Mahomes said one thing people don't realize about him is that he can
run the full route tree.
And he's not just a deep receiver and that's shown throughout camp.
And for me,
I already have preseason bets that Patrick Mahomes will lead the NFL in
passing yards and lead the NFL in passing touchdown.
So this is the offense.
I want a bunch of pieces on I'm buying Brown at his cost.
I'm buying worthy at his cost. I'm buying rice at his cost. I'm buying worthy at his cost.
I'm buying rice at his cost and I'm buying Kelsey at his cost.
And we'll see where it goes with that.
But I think we could be looking at a dominant passing season bounce back for
the chiefs here with these weapons around them.
I think it sets up so nicely.
You have the vertical guys creating space in the middle of the field for rice
and Kelsey.
I don't exactly know how defenses will stop that.
We'll see if I'm wrong about that.
They'll try to beat the rookie left tackle that they're throwing out.
That's a problem.
Potentially.
All right.
That's thank you, Dave.
Yeah, there was another one there, but I'm going to go ahead and skip that.
We have a lot of emails and a lot of questions to get to here.
And plus all this news.
Someone asked, how do I get my question read on the show?
Well, you can go to tinyurl.com slash draftathon2024, tinyurl.com
slash draftathon2024. And there you'll see we have, I think, still 50 new slots for mailbag
questions to be read. Now, this next round, probably going to be read on FFT Express,
on our CBS Sports Network shows. I don't know if they're going to be on the flagship
Fantasy Football Today podcast, but they will be read.
Also, Jamie and I have mock drafts next week.
Mine is Tuesday night, live stream on youtube.com
slash fantasyfootballtoday, 8 p.m. Eastern.
There are spots available.
You can join that for $50.
Jamie's is Thursday at noon.
There are spots available there.
You can join that for $50. Why pay $50? Because it is Thursday at noon. There are spots available there. You can join that for $50.
Why pay $50? Because it's going to St. Jude. And the most exciting thing is the Fantasy Football
Today Open. You cannot find that yet on our page, tinyurl.com slash draftathon2024. But if you go
there Monday night at 8 p.m. Eastern, you will see 11 FFT Open leagues, 12 leagues, 11 spots in
each of them.
You can, I mean,
I guess if you want
the easiest path to victory,
join the Dan Schneier League
and let's sell it out.
Let's raise $33,000
and let's support St. Jude.
While we're on the topic, Adam,
did you have something else to say?
I didn't want to cut you off.
I saw you taking a deep breath before that.
Well, let's talk about this.
We need to still figure out a way
to raise money for St. Jude via our tennis match that we've been touting and talking about for a while.
And it will happen at some point in the summer coming up very soon.
So we got to figure that out.
But I heard from a little birdie before the show that, you know, the level of confidence, you were a very confident man when it came to you versus me in this tennis match for reasons unknown to me.
Considering I played tennis my whole life.
You just picked up a sport. Yes, I don't't play anymore but i'm more athletic than you i'm stronger
than you i'm bigger than you and i'm faster than you but anyway i am but okay i am shorter than you
but everything else and that's only by like one inch now i heard there's a little chink in the
armor here you know a couple weeks ago on the pod everyone heard you start to make the injury excuse
oh my elbows hurt and i think i'm starting to get a sore knee.
Now today, there's something else.
There's another crack in the armor here.
And something else has gone wrong.
So now what is worrying you now?
You told Jamie for a show.
I don't know, Jamie.
I don't know if you should bet on me.
I think we said it on the air.
So people already know what you're talking about.
And yeah, I'm a little hesitant to play this match.
And here's why Dan, Dan wants,
like Dan wants to come over,
play the,
play the match and then go out to dinner after.
And I'm all about that.
But I honestly,
like,
I don't want to let Dan shower in my house.
Why not?
I don't know what it is.
I just,
I don't want naked dad at my house.
Wow.
You know what? What are you worried about me seeing those cockroaches that are flowing
around that house?
I just don't,
I just don't like people showering in my house.
I'm just not comfortable.
I can see that.
Just go somewhere like super casual.
You don't have to really worry about showering.
Well,
you could shower at the tennis club,
you know,
they have,
thank you so much,
Adam.
I can shower at the tennis club.
Gee,
thanks.
So I guess he doesn't even want me meeting his kids either,
which I was looking forward to meeting the whole family.
It's going to be a nice, wholesome moment for the FFT crew.
But no, no, no.
Don't come in my house.
Don't shower.
He's going to be smelly from the match.
He's like, it's going to be weird.
I don't want smelly naked dad in my house.
You're assuming I'm going to have to break a sweat to beat you,
which is a strong assumption on your part.
But let me say this.
This doesn't surprise me.
When Adam and I met up at a Giants tailgate a few years ago for a Monday
night game, Adam and I were hanging out and we had a listener come up to us.
And it was a really fun moment.
They were like, you know, I prefer horrible take by this person.
It was a good person, but she was like,
I prefer the cookie to the cream and the Oreo there. Nice, terrible take. You're like the only person who thinks that besides Adam,
it's horrific take, but nice to meet you. Shake hands. And Adam's like, Oh no, I need to,
I need to go get a, uh, a hand sanitizer. He's like, I've shaken too many people's hands at
this tailgate. I was like, Whoa, you're one of those guys. Okay. So now this all kind of
makes a little bit more sense to me. All right. Just let you know, I'm going to have to get over that fear of naked Dan. All right.
We're going to take a break. You got a lot of fears, Adam. You got a lot of fears.
It's just not, that's not inaccurate. We're going to take a break here. We'll come back.
We'll talk about Jordan Addison, Brandon Iuke, TJ Hawkinson, uh, and more, uh,
Josh Downs. We'll be right back on fantasy football today.
All right. we're back.
Jordan Addison could be facing a three-game suspension for his DUIRS,
although, Jamie, you said you saw a report that said Addison unlikely to be suspended this year?
I thought that's what I saw.
Well, let me just double-check again.
And then we got news on Juju.
I didn't see the Juju news.
What's our Juju news?
Juju is now a free agent.
He's been released. Oh, interesting. Oh, there's the Juju news. What's our Juju? Juju is now a free agent. He's been released.
Oh, interesting.
Oh, there's the Juju news.
There we go.
Interesting to some degree, not many major.
I'll say this as far as the suspension news goes,
the further we get into this thing, boys and boys and boys and girls,
ladies and gentlemen, anyone listening to this podcast,
the less likely I think we're going to see a Rishi Rice suspension in 2023.
And I've been banking on that all off season.
He's been ridiculously high in my rankings the entire off season.
I think anyone who drafted early is going to get a whole lot of value out of the Rasheed
Rice picks.
We'll see if I'm wrong about that, but I can't imagine they get this thing done with the
suspension and the court case and everything by the time this 2023, 2024 season wraps up.
All right.
We'll check in on the Addison news, a comment in the chat,
Adam,
according to ESPN,
uh,
suspension late this season or 2025.
Okay.
Yeah.
Adam,
the type of dude to put toilet paper on the seat at his own house.
That's so true.
That's not true at all.
Uh,
TJ,
TJ Hawkinson.
Oh,
wait,
Adam, are you the type of guy who's like you you're you'll let's
say adam i'll put a scenario out for you yeah you really something happened you know you ate
the wrong kind of food you didn't expect it and you gotta go number two you're out though you
you know that you have an hour-long drive ahead of you but you really gotta go are you the type
of guy that's gonna hold it in and try to make it back
home just because you're too scared to go
in a public restroom? No. Or will you?
You'll go in a public restroom? If I have to.
Thanks for clarifying that it was number two. Nobody
was picking up on that.
The Patriots decided not to trade for
Brandon Ayuk. We're waiting to see if he maybe goes to
the Steelers. TJ Hawkinson
is expected back sometime in the first
half. Okay. Jamie, did you adjust TJ Hawkinson to your back sometime in the first half. Okay.
Jamie, did you adjust TJ Hawkinson in your rankings at all?
No, he's still a tight end 14.
So if you're inclined to take two, he's not a bad gamble as a second one.
Obviously it's a benefit if you have an IR spot in your league,
but I just don't know what to expect from him until at least the end of the
season. And at that point he may be out of it. So I'm not not so inclined i'm definitely not drafting him as a starter lamar jackson lost some
weight feeling a little bit better about him is bod uh josh downs has a high ankle sprain alec
pierce and adonai mitchell could move up to wide receiver two for the colts anthony gold is having
there's actually a report today that mitchell's playing in slot right now yeah for they did line
him up in the but i don't know if that's permanent. They lined him up in the slot.
But yeah, so Josh Downs
with the high ankle sprain. Jamie, does this
boost Michael Pittman for you?
No. We talked about this earlier
this week that, I forget which show we've done,
a million, that
if he was out for the season,
then yes. But this
is not a long-term injury. He may miss
week one or week two. I don't anticipate him missing, you know,
the first four or five games of the year.
And so he's going to come back.
He's going to be hopefully a factor
and they have other weapons now
that they can lean on as well.
All right, next up, Russell Wilson.
He's currently the starting quarterback for the Steelers.
We'll see how this plays out.
We'll see what goes on in preseason.
Rondell Moore, Falcons wide receiver.
He's out for the season with a knee injury.
Mike Williams is off the pup list.
Do you guys,
I was,
I was drafting Mike Williams and mock drafts with the thought of,
I'll just stash them on my IR.
Can't do that anymore.
Does anybody have like wide receiver three hopes for Mike Williams?
At best faint at best hopes Faint at best. Hopes are faint at best.
Okay.
John Machoda of The Athletic says that Rico Dowdle
has to be the favorite
to lead the team in rushing.
Meh.
Top 100 pick for anyone?
Rico Dowdle?
Yes.
At the beginning of the process,
I liked him more than I do now.
I just feel very strongly
that the Cowboys are going to add a back
before the start of the season.
Jaden Reed had a calf strain, but he returned to practice.
Noah Fant has a foot injury for the Seahawks.
They also signed center Connor Williams to a one-year deal.
Sean McVay downplayed Pukunuku's knee injury.
Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said he is super pleased with both running backs.
He said Chase Brown is explosive and Zach Moss is where he needs to be on every play.
Okay, the battle continues.
DeAndre Swift continues to have a good camp,
getting a lot of good press.
DeAndre Swift, and that includes as a pass catcher,
been very involved there.
Would you guys rather have DeAndre Swift or Najee Harris?
Swift for me.
Swift.
Swift or Tony Pollard? Swift for me. Swift. Swift or Tony Pollard?
Swift for me.
Swift or Ramondre Stevenson?
Swift for me.
Ramondre.
Matt LaFleur talked about Josh Jacobs
and praised his ability to catch the ball.
As mentioned on the running back preview,
Josh Jacobs has never caught a touchdown
in like a ton of catches.
Oh, wow.
Travis Etienne says he's getting more involved
in the passing game.
Matt Schneiderman of The Athletic
discussed how Marshawn Lloyd's ball security issues
could make a difference in the RB2 battle.
Bit of a fumbler in college as well.
Cleveland running back Deontay Foreman,
this is great news.
He hurt his neck.
It was carted off last week.
He returned to practice.
Giants quarterback Drew Locke
left with a minor hip injury. Did not have a good night. Tyrone Tracy appeared to be the number two running back for. Giants quarterback Drew Locke left with a minor hip injury.
Did not have a good night.
Tyrone Tracy appeared to be the number two running back for the Giants.
Eric Gray had a long touchdown run, but Tracy running ahead of him.
And Tracy has also gotten the most first team reps
after Singletary so far in training camp.
Denver tight end Greg Dulcich continues to have a good camp,
and so does rookie wide receiver Devon Vele.
Vele was a seventh round pick out of Utah.
He's 26 years old, but he is turning some heads for Denver.
Devon Vele.
The Saints signed linebacker Pete Werner to a three-year extension.
The Titans quarterback Caleb Farley is out a couple weeks
of the hamstring injury.
And I said Kamani Vidal was fifth on the depth chart.
He's actually sixth on the depth chart.
Jamie, do you think Kamani Vidal is still a handcuff
or something like that worth drafting?
I wouldn't draft him as a handcuff.
I would draft him as a prospect that hopefully can win the job
at some point during the year.
But this is a long way to go if he's that low on the depth chart.

This is from Cameron.
I have held on to Saquon for years
just to be hurt over and over again.
Do I give him another shot
or keep Garrett Wilson instead?
I'm already keeping CD lamb.
This is a tough one for me talking about two breakout players for me.
I think I would go Wilson,
the Wilson route.
You're calling Barkley a breakout player.
Sorry,
not to breakout players,
two players ranked in the same range.
I don't know why I was thinking that Wilson's a breakout candidate for me. Barkley, breakout player? Sorry, not two breakout players. Two players ranked in the same range.
I don't know why I was thinking that.
Wilson's a breakout candidate for me.
Barkley, not for obvious reasons.
But they're two players ranked basically back-to-back for me.
I would go Wilson.
I would as well.
This is from Aaron in a former U.S. capital city.
Former U.S. capital city.
How could a city... This is going to be a dumb question that's going
to get laughed at how could a city be a former capital city i don't know like a trick question
or something yeah i don't know all right hey tim rex anthony and jesse
oh um toy story oh geez jamie this is say it again i might have a shot tim rex anthony and jesse Oh, Toy Story? Oh, geez, Jamie.
Say it again.
I might have a shot.
Tim, Rex, Anthony, and Jesse.
And it's especially troubling that Jamie's not getting this.
I got nothing.
These are, I think, Gators quarterbacks.
Oh, yeah.
Rex Grossman, Anthony Richardson, Tim...
Tebow?
Yeah.
Remember him?
And who was the other one?
Jesse Palmer.
Jesse Palmer.
I could have got Palmer if I got Jesse.
Tebow is the least memorable for me.
Interesting.
Just kidding.
Just kidding.
Just kidding.
I play in a 10-team half PPR league.
I constantly find myself going wide receiver and running back
in the first two rounds of my mocks, and I love it.
The third round is where I start to get stumped.
I'm typically deciding between Sam Laporta and James Cook.
Where would you go with this build,
and are you at all discouraged by taking both St. Brown and Laporta?
Not discouraged by taking St. Brown and Laporta.
What did he do in round two?
Receiver running back in the first.
So if you go receiver running back,
I'm less inclined to go receiver running back running back,
even though the value for James Cook is very good.
Hold on,
Jamie,
just real quick.
It is 10 team league.
And I would definitely go to the portal.
I like the idea of going with the onesie positions in the 10 team
leagues.
The onesie positions being quarterback and tight end.
I do personally have a much higher rank overall,
though,
on cook versus Laporta.
So I will go with cook.
All right.
Not high on Laporta this year.
When did we start calling them the onesie positions?
Um,
I've been hearing it for years now.
Really?
I never,
we never hear that.
Never.
That's never been said on this show.
And I didn't say this,
this show,
the world, Adam, is this the only show that anyone talks about fancy football or just wondering
the onesie positions yeah the onesie positions the positions where you only have to start one
each yeah i understand i just really we have to call it that the onesie i don't know what do you
want to call it solo position quarterback and tight end it can't just call that quarterback
and tight end well if you're shortening it,
you say the solo positions or the onesie positions,
by the way,
there was a comment.
I mean,
on the onesie,
I think it sounds good.
This is from Landon.
My brother,
the other day who only listens to the show said,
I'm not sure about that.
Dan guy.
I made sure to tell him that Dan is the best right after Adam,
Jamie.
Well,
you're better than Jacob.
You landed. Yeah. There you go. All right. There you go. Next. and Heath. Nice. Well, you're better than Jacob.
Yeah, there you go.
There you go.
Next email is from Travis.
I know you haven't fired up the team name Tuesdays yet,
but when you do, I liked love to read.
It would be even better if you drafted the stack.
Love to read.
I like it.
Yeah, sure.
Do you want to hear a not that funny story?
Yeah, I like all your stories, so yeah.
My sister's husband, his name is Reed,
and they were dating, gosh, I don't even know,
15, 20 years ago.
And my grandmother was pretty old at the time,
didn't hear so well.
Reed was new to the family.
I was like, Grandma, do you like Reed?
She's like, what?
I'm like, do you like Reed?
She goes, do I like to read?
I'm like, forget it, Grandma.
Just like Reed already.
That was a horrible story.
Oh my God. Is it?
Jamie, what happened there?
There's like no punchline whatsoever there.
Do I like to read?
Yeah, I thought it was funny.
All right.
The question.
Oh, no, we already got the question.
The question now is from Casey.
Dear Arthur, Danny, Deacon, and Spence.
Oh, I think these are king of queens characters yes oh my god that was an amazing call by me
i told you tv shows i can hit tv shows i can hit and that is an underrated show by the way
very underrated that and everybody lives raymond are just hilarious shows that everyone should
watch like if we're talking about like fraser versus those, it's just a different level of humor,
just complete.
One's funny.
The other is just not.
And,
and remind me how you've seen how many episodes of Frazier enough to know
you've seen zero.
I've seen minutes.
I've seen a few minutes.
I find it extremely difficult to pick between this group of DJ more
Pittman,
waddle neighbors,
pickings, Higgins, and Devante Smith. Can you talk
about this group more and discuss your favorites? DJ Moore, Michael Pittman, Jalen Waddle, Malik
Neighbors, Pickens, Higgins, Devante Smith. I mean, obviously just go listen to our wide
receiver preview because he spent a lot of time breaking down these guys. For me, my two favorites,
if I have the whole list correctly, uh, Waddle
for sure. And then probably neighbors would be second. You know, if you're just looking for
upside, if you're concerned about, you know, taking a receiver in a shared situation or the
number two receiver on his own team, then you can pivot to Pittman. If you want to go that route,
pivot to DJ more. If you want to go the route, those are actually my two least favorite guys
in that group. But, um, I generally would aim for the most upside.
And for me, that's Waddle and neighbors with Pickens in his current state without Brandon.
Are you not far behind?
Waddle and probably Devante Smith are my two favorites out of this.
If Devante Smith takes over the Kellen Moore slot role, which is an if at this point, but
if it does happen, he's in for a breakout year.
In my opinion, neighbors obviously belongs on that as well. The two, the two, I
really like everyone from a value standpoint on this list, with the exception of two players,
Pittman, who I've been out on all, all off season, don't buy into the changes that are going to be
there. I think it's going to hurt him to have Richardson versus Minshew, both in the red zone.
And then from an overall target volume standpoint, and then Pickens, I used to, I was getting all in
on Pickens. And now I just think this, this Brandon brandon iu thing is a matter of when not if we'll see if i'm
wrong about that and when that happens i just it's going to turn really be a rough thing for
george pickens's value for the first standpoint of look it's arthur smith's offense
can that sustain two wide receivers that scares the hell out of me she thought i was asking
her if she liked to read but i was yeah i get what she was asking like she's like that's where we
obviously were going to go with it she's like oh do i like to read yeah but like that's not that
good like there's nothing really to that you had to be there you had to be there all right this is
from joey full ppr dynasty, four point per passing touchdown.
Who should I target at the 105?
My quarterbacks are Lawrence and Watson.
Again, this is a Dynasty League.
By the way, those are my quarterbacks in the Big Burger League.
My running backs are Javante, ETN, Chubb, and Pacheco.
My receivers are Collins, Hill, Debo.
Wow, his receivers are loaded.
Collins, Hill, Debo,
Puka,
Higgins,
Jaden Reed,
and Sutton.
Funny story about Jaden Reed.
I have McBride and Kelsey.
Holy.
The only way to make joke better is to tell it twice.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
This team is really good,
except maybe not running back.
It's one Oh five too early to draft Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels.
And who should I target at that spot?
105.
Is it Superflex or 1QB?
It's Superflex?
Actually, no, it's not.
Yeah, okay, it's not.
I don't think in this format you need to go with Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels.
I'd be looking at Brock Bowers or Romo Junze with this pick.
I would assume if it's a one quarterback league,
the top three picks are probably the three receivers.
At least that's what I've seen in the rookie only drafts I've done.
Yeah, you're probably right, actually.
So no Dunzay then in this scenario is not going to be available.
And you may not have Williams because he may go at four.
Right.
So the question is, do you want to takeane daniels or williams whoever's sitting there
or you say it's jake mcbride and who he is mcbride and kelsey i would i would take a quarterback
i wouldn't i wouldn't take bowers i have no problem taking the quarterback there the only
other thing would be is if you want to go with jonathan brooks because you could maybe use
another running back more so than a receiver or a tight end assuming again
it's not one of the top three receivers so if the receivers are there of the the top trio i'd
easily take that just for talent alone if not i go quarterback just like i would approach things
if i ever got the opportunity which i never will to manage an nfl team i'm not drafting for uh need
ever in dynasty i'm drafting the players that I believe in evaluation wise,
much stronger evaluation for me than on Bowers.
Then any of those quarterbacks will be there besides Caleb.
It's not too QB.
And then I'm not going to go with Jonathan Brooks.
So I don't have that strong of an evaluation on,
on a position that I do not like to invest in,
in dynasty.
All right.
This is from Jason says,
Hey,
Steve,
Brendan and Sergey.
Um, I've got, I mean. I've been great at these lately.
This one's going to be tough.
Steve, Brendan, Sergey.
Sergey Bobrov.
What's the guy on the Panthers?
Bobrovsky.
Do the rest of them work out?
It's Fedorov.
Sergey Fedorov?
These are, yeah, 97 Red Wings.
You remember Sergey Fedorov? Steve eiserman who the hell was brendan
brendan don't like stop you don't know stop i actually kind of do have an idea but this is
when i used to watch a little bit of hockey when the devils are good brendan i know this is yeah
get it it's brendan frazierteam half people are a keeper league.
It's a three-receiver league.
I picked 10th, and I'm keeping Brees Hall in the fifth round.
Who would you pick at 10 and 11?
The elite eight are available to draft except for Hall,
but they'll all be gone.
I'm hoping A.J. Brown will be there.
Puka's going to be kept.
So I'm looking at Gibbs, Taylor, Garrett Wilson, and Marvin Harrison.
If you're keeping Brees Hall, and you're looking at Gibbs, Taylor, Garrett, Wilson, and Marvin Harrison. If you're keeping Brees Hall and you're looking at Gibbs, Taylor, Garrett, Wilson, and Harrison,
who would you take at 10 and 11? Wilson Harrison for me.
The only concern would be is now you're locked into the jets, but I think just given the fact that you're not talking about Brees Hall in round one and Garrett Wilson around two,
I'm fine with it. Brees Hall in round five gives you the upside of.
That's who it was.
Brendan Shanahan.
Sorry, Jamie.
Yeah, I would go with Wilson and probably Harrison just to get two receivers.
Brendan Shanahan, that's who it was.
Unless there's an IU trade, then I would consider the other.
If Adam was nice, he would have just told me that
instead of Brendan Frazier.
Okay, the next email comes from Ryan. he would have just told me that instead. We're Brandon Frazier. Okay.
The next email comes from Ryan.
Dear some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, Heath, and Dan,
I play in a 12-team half PPR league.
For the past 10 years, our league has played with kickers and defense,
but we finally came out of the Stone Age,
and we are doing away with the former and adding an extra flex spot.
Great move. And dropping the
bench spots from five to four.
How does an extra flex and smaller bench
change how you draft?
I think it's
half PBR, so
you don't have to lock yourself into
I need a receiver and a flex. It can go
either way if you have a running back that you tend to lock yourself into this. I say, I need a receiver and a flex. It can go either way. If you have a running back that you tend to lean intent that you like, I tend to lean
toward receivers more times than not, just because I think there's more value there in
any sort of PPR format.
Um, when you have a shallow bench, it's, I think, depending on the direction that you
go in terms of what you take first, if you have a position that you lean toward a little bit more, then you might be want to put a little bit more emphasis
on the other position, running back receiver on your bench boss, just to have a little bit more,
you know, lottery ticket type of guys. So like, I, I felt like this a little bit in our super
flex mock draft because I drafted three quarterbacks and my, uh, receivers were better
than my running backs. So I spent a little bit more draft capital on running backs on the bench.
When it got to a few points in the draft, I was like, I like these receivers a lot,
but I don't know if I can afford to carry them.
So I let them go and took some more running back depth.
Biggest factor for me in this scenario is you don't want to be rostering
nagging injury guys with a short bench like this.
So I'm going to prioritize not investing in those players.
And the other thing is I'm more likely to invest in a great quarterback and a great
tight end because I don't want to be wasting bench spots on flyers at backup quarterback
or backup tight end.
We've got some funny emails coming up, including what one listener thought we all looked like.
So we'll take a quick break on fantasy football today,
and we'll come back right after this.
Welcome back to fantasy football today, presented by BetMGM.
Okay, this email comes from Dan in Chicago, and he said,
I never thought about what each of you looked like
until I recently heard you bring up your heights on a photo.
I must say I was kind of shocked as to how some of you looked
as your voices don't look to resemble how you sound.
If I had to put in a name or a photo to reference, I would have thought it would be something more like this.
Heath looks like T.J. Miller, who's a comedian.
I don't know him.
Do you guys know T.J. Miller?
Is he the guy from Silicon Valley?
I feel like he is that guy.
Let me see.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, he's so funny.
I could see Heath looking like him.
He's from Office Christmas Party. No, like I could see Heath looking like him. He's from Office Christmas Party.
No, like I could see Heath's voice looking like that.
I don't know. No, that's no for me. Go on.
Jamie, he thinks, looked exactly like Jamie. I'm very on point.
Dan, he thought, looked like Orlando Bloom.
Who is that?
Wow.
Yeah, it's a compliment. It's a compliment.
This is, wow.
Let's take a look at this.
Orlando Bloom.
Let's go, buddy.
My man.
Who is this listener?
Tell me what you need.
Dan in Chicago.
You need somebody to help you out with it. Dan in Chicago.
Yeah, yeah.
Dan in Chicago.
He thinks Dave looks like Harvey Fierstein.
Oh, no.
Oh, my God.
Wait, Fierstein? No, not the Oh, my God. Wait, Fierstein?
No, not the guy you're thinking of.
No, not him.
The guy from Miss Doubtfire.
Okay, okay.
That got him.
He's crazy for a second.
And Adam looks like McLovin from Superbad.
That's not too far off, is it?
Yes, it is.
What are you talking about?
He's very far off.
If there's anything that's way off, it's you look like McLovin,
and my God, Dan does not look like Orlando Bloom.
I know.
The McLovin thing isn't as far off, though, as I think we're both at.
Dan looks like a young Jason Alexander.
We've established that.
No, no, no.
You know what?
No, that's better.
I didn't like that one, but at least I like that one better than the one time
on Beyond the Box where someone's like,
I think Dan looks like Kyle's cousin from South Park.
That one was unbelievable.
All right, there's a question from Dan.
I'm at a 10-team league.
Look at this.
This is definitely Dan Schneier.
Look at what he said.
Most of you say to prioritize the onesie positions,
but with full PBR, we say to prioritize one receiver.
So a wide receiver.
I'm in a 10-team league where we've expanded the rosters
to make it more fun.
We've got two flexes now and a DST
and 0.1 points per passing yard for a quarterback.
Wow, that's a big deal.
Considering you can start five receivers,
would you start would you
prioritize that over everything else well no 1.1 points for passing yard you need a guy who's going
to throw a lot of passes and you need a passing yards guy you don't want anthony richardson
necessarily like this is one point for every 10 yards instead of every 25 you know that's crazy
that's where your priority needs to be but other
than that ppr league where you can start up to five receivers yeah i mean heavy receiver book
yeah okay and then um i just got a little heat for a food comment i made that i don't like
hollandaise sauce i think i said like i i don't eat eggs benedict because i don't like hollandaise
sauce and i did get sort of killed for that yeah i mean it's great eggs benedict's
phenomenal and hollandaise sauce is good i don't know what your issue with it is i don't know it's
like it's too much it's too creamy much what it's too too heavy okay interesting do you do you
dislike all heavy sauces like alfredo and stuff like that i don't really like alfredo sauce i
like sauce okay but yeah i'm just gonna stick by i know hollandaise sauce for me but i got uh i got like Alfredo and stuff like that? I don't really like Alfredo sauce. I like vodka sauce.
Okay.
But yeah, I'm just going to stick by it. No hollandaise sauce for me,
but I got crushed for it a little bit.
Okay.
I did.
Yeah.
Let's do our draft-a-thon questions here.
This comes from, thank you for your donations,
Mike in Wedgefield.
Mike says, hey, Pat, Freddie, Billy, Blue, and Sam.
Oh.
These are five random NFL mascot names.
Patriots, Falcons, Buffalo, Colts, and 49ers.
I don't really have a question,
more of a league commissioner thing.
I've been the commissioner for 13 years,
and I really enjoy it.
But at this point, from August through the end of the year,
it's become a part-time job. I do crazy elaborate events to choose divisions and draft order,
take on the responsibility of running the draft each year, which includes running the music
playlist, setting up the draft boards, coordinating everyone's first round pick to be read at a podium
with each owner getting their own walk-up music, buying custom league gifts,
running a raffle to benefit a charity with sports
etc.
I feel like I've raised the bar so much that I don't know
at what point I can take my foot off the gas
or cut back so I can run my
own draft properly. I've never won the
league. However, I feel like I'd be letting down
my best friend group by not keeping up with
the monster that I've unfortunately created.
I'm torn between being a world
class commissioner and winning a damn
championship.
Any input input would be really helpful.
I,
I got it.
Yeah,
go ahead,
Jamie.
You first.
I think you just keep doing what you're doing.
I was going to say,
I think it's more valuable to have this unbelievable league that you've
created for the people in your friend group.
Like you've given them something that no other commissioner is going to give them from, and I don't even know, like all those things you do are crazy.
Even you're putting money into it. It depends what you're looking to play fantasy for. If you
want to win and get that glory of winning, which everybody does to an extent it's fleeting though,
right? Like we are, we remember the champion for a short period of time. Maybe it gets brought back
up at next year's draft and then it is what it is. But what you're providing, I think is more
valuable than that personally. So I think you got to. But what you're providing, I think, is more valuable than that personally.
So I think you've got to keep doing what you're doing.
And if I'm in your friend group, I'd be super happy.
I think that if you win doing it your way, it's going to be so much more satisfactory.
True.
Adam, the type of dude to have 20 jars of ragu in his cup.
Oh, he would be.
Great take, bro. Rayos. Rayos is of ragu in his cup. Oh, he would be. No. Great take, Brody.
Rayos.
Rayos is amazing.
Can I just tell you something, Adam?
Game changer.
No, the game changer is making your own sauce.
Oh, stop.
You get two kids, and then you can sit here and make your own sauce.
Fair.
Yeah, all right.
Adam wears gloves when he pumps gas.
Daddy definitely does.
He doesn't touch that.
I'm telling you.
Wait, Dan, have you ever pumped your own gas?
Yes, I have.
Actually, I've had to.
Including one disastrous moment.
One of my first pumps ever.
I was in Seattle.
My brother on a brother's trip.
We're driving down.
I had not pumped my own gas the first time I ever did it.
And something went wrong.
I spilled gas all over
a shirt and shorts combo that i loved and had to immediately throw out and i got so angry as my
brother was just laughing at me and then we had a good laugh about that later because of the state
you live in yeah yeah i don't have to often in new jersey ever but sometimes i'm out of state so i
have done it before and i've gotten better at it not that it's some kind of skill set that you need to improve on but i did have a mishap on the first go i have
very bad luck with the uh placeholder things on the pumps i'd say like one or it locks up yeah
one or two out of ten of the gas pumps i pick up actually have a functioning one usually and i don't
wear gloves but i i'll admit. I am an alcohol wipe guy.
I wipe that thing down.
All the time.
Before I pump gas.
This dude, when he goes on a plane.
What?
You wipe down the thing to pump the gas?
I wipe down the place where I punch in the numbers.
Everything.
I wipe down everything I touch.
An absolute freak.
This is the type of guy who goes onto a flight,
and you know when you go onto a flight these days,
they hand you the alcohol wipe.
Adam's like, can I have four or five more?
Can I have four or five more?
Everything needs to be soaked in the alcohol.
All right.
Scott, my league is in its 16th year,
looking for fresh new ideas to make the in-person draft even more fun.
What are the most fun things you've seen or heard
to make draft day even better
sounds like scott and the other uh emailers should get together and come up with a game plan i mean
look always the food is is going to be a big part of this i do like the idea of you know just as as
a baseball dad the walk-up music sounds fun you know so if you want to do something like that to
have everybody come up make their their picks. I mean,
do a road trip.
Don't let Dan pump your gas,
but do a road trip.
Convert your league to an auction draft and then you'll have your best time
ever.
Did I ever tell you about the first time I did laundry?
Oh,
I can imagine that was an issue for you.
Grandma,
it's spin cycle.
No,
I forgot to put the detergent in.
All right.
Great.
Next, next one's from David.
12-team PPR Superflex League.
I'm keeping Brees Hall
in the fourth round.
Now for the first three picks
in my draft,
would you rather draft
a stud-wide receiver,
mid-tier quarterback next,
or would you rather get
a stud quarterback
and then hammer out
wide receivers?
Stud QB for me.
I don't really worry about the QB.
I'd rather get the receivers and a lot of them.
Oh, wait a second.
I'm so sorry.
It's Superflex.
Oh, then absolutely.
Superflex.
Yeah, that's what you said.
Yeah, I don't know.
What did I do in the Superflex draft we did yesterday?
I took McCaffrey third
and didn't take my second quarterback until round four.
And I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Do we still have that draft?
Yes.
The results will be on the site probably at the end of the day.
If you wouldn't mind indulging me, I'll look it up because I...
I did something similar.
I can tell you what I did.
So I had the first overall, second overall pick,
and I got Allen in round one because Hertz went first.
And then I went with A.J. Brown and Garrett Wilson with my next two picks.
And then I think on the next turn, I went Pacheco and Stafford.
And then not too long after that, I took Will Levis.
Yeah, so this was a 12-team Superflex League.
I had the third pick.
I took McCaffrey.
In the second round, I took Caleb Williams or maybe Puka Nakua.
And in the third round, I took the other guy. So my first three picks were McCaff or maybe puka nakua and in the third round i took the other
guy so my first three picks were mcafree puka nakua and caleb williams and then i just sean
watson was my second quarterback and then i took gino smith and then i took justin fields just for
fun but uh i actually liked quarterback depth enough enough this year where i'm fine with a
guy like to sean watson or stafford or somebody like that being my QB too.
There's like 21 or so guys that I'd be fine with as starters.
So I don't hate quarterback depth this year.
I'm kind of with you on that.
I've kind of liked that middle tier.
Even if you,
even if you wait a little and get like Jaden or Caleb as your QB one upside guy.
Right.
Okay.
Uh, this is from Dave from the best New York city borough.
Um, story of Queens. best New York City borough. Astoria, Queens.
That's not a borough, but that's one city in the borough.
You would say Queens.
Is that the best borough?
Just because I love Astoria so much, yeah.
I'm going to say Manhattan.
Say Manhattan, best borough.
Dear Colin, Kevin, Norm, and Dennis.
That's easy.
Colin, Kevin, Norm. That's enough.'s easy. Colin, Kevin, Norm.
That's enough.
Comedians?
Weekend Update hosts.
Yeah.
12-team, one QB league.
I've been in it for 20 years.
Whoa.
Almost everyone rosters two quarterbacks
and occasionally three.
It's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy
where because we all know people roster two QBs,
we know the waiver wire will be barren, making people want to roster a backup even more. How does this dynamic impact
your draft slash roster strategy? Important to note, there are not many trades in this league,
and there are seven bench spots. I mean, seven bench spots. Okay. Maybe get away with carrying
three. That just seems redundant to me. Unless, you know, you're really taking a chance on somebody with upside, like a Justin Fields, you know? So if you want to take your starter, a high upside backup, and then really swing for the fences with somebody like Fields, like I don't want to carry Derek Carr, you know, like on, on my team, if I have two, that should be okay. You know, in the event of an injury, you know, you should be able to. I know he said it's
tough to find quarterbacks on the waiver wire,
but think what happened last year. Joe
Flacco became available
and was a starter for a lot of people.
Josh Dobbs was a guy that was
on and off of rosters that helped
people.
Are you saying that in this league where
it's a 12-team league where you know that
most people are drafting two,
if not three quarterbacks, that you're only going to draft one?
No, I would take two.
Oh, you would.
I would not take three.
Okay, sorry.
The third quarterback, do you want to carry Bonick?
I would agree with you completely.
Draft two.
All right, let's go to our – Sorry, just Dan and I have to go soon.
Sorry.
Apple Podcasts.
No, Adam has to go soon.
I do have to go soon, but so do you.
Apple Podcasts questions.
This is from ICH and I don't know.
Dear Matt, Daryl, Darcy, and Borge.
That feels hockey-ish.
I play in a weird eight-team, two-QBB, half PPR league with all of my closest friends.
We choose to keep the league extremely small to keep the integrity of the league and tight
competitiveness as we've all been best friends. We went to high school together with the draft
coming up in the next month. I'm curious how you guys would treat drafting the quarterback position.
Quarterbacks almost never go off the board early because the starting lineups are so big
with two quarterbacks, three running backs,
three receivers, one tight end, and three flex.
Usually the first quarterbacks go around
mid-round three or four, even in this super flex league.
What do you think this guy should do?
I would still lean toward the top three
to four quarterbacks somewhat early.
So,
you know,
if,
if you want to,
you know,
go by the history of your league and say that's around three,
that's fine.
You know,
if you want to just stockpile,
you know,
some of the top tier talent at running back receiver tight end,
but,
uh,
you want any,
any league that's less than 12 teams,
10,
eight,
six,
however many playing mostly it's 10 and eight. Uh, you want different, 8, 6, however many you play in,
mostly it's 10 and 8, you want different.
You need difference makers.
So while I love the upside of Kyler Murray,
if Murray hits and Jalen Hurts hits, there's a difference.
If Jordan Love hits and Mahomes hits, there's a difference. So while it's in your best interest in bigger leagues to wait on the position,
you have to differentiate yourself some way, somehow.
And so the quarterback is one of those ways to do it.
So I would lean toward Alan Hurts-Mahomes in some capacity early.
Okay.
This is from Moose Fitzpatrick.
14-team league, three keepers, PPR, two receivers, one flex.
I have the first pick, which will most likely be Marvin Harrison Jr.
Two of my definite keepers are going to be Bijan and Olave.
I'm debating between Kyler, Higgins, or Tank Dell for my third.
So he's going to get Marvin Harrison Jr.
He's going to keep Bijan and Olave.
Would you keep Kyler Murray, T. Higgins, or Tank Dell?
I like going Kyler and matching him with Marvin Harrison.
It's a one QB league?
Yeah.
I'm going to go Higgins.
Okay.
This is from Fortnite.
What are your favorite spots to draft this year in a 12-team league?
I've kind of started to feel different about different spots from a strategy standpoint and
i was thinking about this yesterday with the super flex draft because it feels like you just
want to pick early in in super flex to get one of the top tier quarterbacks and especially
when you see the story you know we just talked about this like i love the build that i had with
getting two top 10 receivers uh a top 10 running back and,
and still having one of the best quarterbacks and two good options on top of it. You know,
usually if you're at the backend, you're more inclined to probably go quarterback quarterback,
or you're missing out on, you know, a, one of the elite quarterbacks plus, you know,
then you're sort of left at the mercy of what happens to you at the backend around three and
four in one QB leagues. I don't really have a preference, but if I'm at the mercy of what happens to you at the back end of round three and four in one QB leagues.
I don't really have a preference, but if I'm at the back end of round one, and if you're inclined
to do this running back, running back is not a bad way to start. I don't want to do that,
but I also don't want to reach for receivers that I'm not sold on. And that's even as early
as wide receiver eight. So to be elite level, like those running backs could be elite level. So I have no
problem going Barkley, Taylor Gibbs, and some combo there, and then just loading up on receivers,
three, four, five, six, and going that route. So it just depends, I think where you pick in
your format, but I don't really have a preference either way. For one QB leagues, my preference is
either the sixth or seventh spot, because I might get one of those three backs that I feel like are
a big difference for the teardrop. Worst case, I'm going to get Amon Ra or Justin Jefferson or
Jamar Chase at six or seven. Plus I love drafting in the middle of snake drafts. I think it's a big
advantage to draft in the middle versus the ends. Um, but the third pick for me, if I had a third
choice would be number one overall. Cause I do think Christian McCaffrey, I don't care about
this, this calf strain. That's going to be nothing in my opinion. I think it gives you a massive
advantage over everyone else in a one QB league. I'm starting care about this calf strain. That's going to be nothing in my opinion. I think it gives you a massive advantage over everyone else in a 1QB
league. I'm starting to think that
based on James Cook's
ADP and
the fact that I love Kamara in
round four, if I have like the 10th
pick. What do you love about Kamara
in round four? Is it just the Derek Carr dump
off aspect? He was
RB4 per game last year.
Yeah, but that's inflated by that 13 catch game. He was RB4 per game last year.
That's inflated by that 13 catch game.
He's going to catch
probably 70 or more.
I guess with Carr,
it's just consistent enough dump downs.
He's been really bad as a
runner lately. Three years in a row.
This new Cougar system does not really
fit who he is as a runner. I don't really know
what's different between him and Rashad white.
The only thing that's different is age.
Sure.
And I don't like Rashad white either.
So I think we're on the same.
I think I get why I don't really like these.
But I would like,
I would,
I would go for,
I,
if I could start my team with AJ Brown,
Marvin Harrison,
James Cook,
Alvin Camara,
I would do a backflip.
Okay.
I'd be pumped about that,
but I wouldn't want to do that.
I wouldn't pick that.
I wouldn't say,
give me the ninth pick
so I can make that happen.
I'd probably pick first.
This is from msage1999.
Dear Johnny, Miles, and Vaughn.
Millers?
No, come on.
You did get a Miller.
Vaughn Miller's right.
These are Aggies. Man You did get a Miller. Von Miller's right. These are Aggies.
Manziel, Garrett, Miller.
My league is going to half point per first down,
and I wonder if this boosts running quarterbacks even more.
It is half PPR and four point per passing touchdown.
Oh, hell yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Definitely. Oh, yeah.
Definitely.
And running backs.
Running backs for sure.
But yes, Jalen, like Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen.
I think way ahead of Mahomes.
And Decker.
Should help Jaden Daniels too, players like that.
Yeah, Jack.
Who are your top four quarterbacks in this format?
I would still put Mahomes fourth,
but it would be the other three guys ahead of him.
Yeah, I think that's fair.
Allen one, Hurts two.
Case can be made that Richardson and Kyler belong in that tier too.
Maybe still behind Mahomes, but in that tier.
Yes.
Five would be Richardson, which he's already five.
Six would be Murray, who's already six.
Daniels would be seven.
Yeah, I think a big question would be like,
in a four-point-per-passing touchdown league
with half a point for first down, does Deshaatson outscore jared golf right the sean watson could
could be boasted up to players like that daniel jones now becomes an option to some extent like
there it is it only took 54 minutes jamie there's a dano jones reference i don't know
what you say jamie he had a little bit of saon Slander in there when you caught him on the
breakouts. He was like, I'm not,
I'm not so high on Saquon for obvious reasons. And I think he said,
cause he's an Eagle. Yeah. All right. Last one here.
Adam is the type of dude to let a car go when it's his right of way.
I do that too often. I do that as a flaw is a bad thing.
I do it too often. Too polite on the road. I want to wrap up.
That's the last one. I want to wrap up. That's the last
one. I want to wrap up a little bit of a wholesome story. Um, part of why I love being on this show
is, and this goes for my show as well, but this one, it feels even stronger, the community factor
and like what we've built that what you guys have built out with, I'm now a part of, and I met last
weekend, uh, for the first time, an avid listener of the podcast, someone who had literally has not
missed one episode, which is just crazy over like a multiple year span. And so he had a cookout at his house and
my God, this man made some of the best brisket I've ever had in the smoked turkey. There's like
phenomenal spread. Everybody had a great time, but he's such an avid listener that he wanted
some inside info. He wasn't looking for like, who's your sleeper. What he wanted inside info
on was you four people, Dave, Heath, Jamie, and Adam.
He wanted to know all sorts of funny stuff that he's picked up on inside scoops, all
of which I gave him.
But this is what I want to know.
And so shout out Mike DeBarberi, James, Jamie, you know, I'm a huge shout out guy.
This is another shout out, but this dude, Mike DeBarberi put out unbelievable spread
on, and just at a great time for all.
But let me say this, we were debating this and I want to ask you this question, Mike DeBarber, put out unbelievable spread and just a great time for all. But let me say this.
We were debating this, and I want to ask you this question, Adam.
He had this cookout at his house in New Jersey.
It was in central, south New Jersey.
It was the same day Jamie had the Flex League.
If I had texted Jamie or called Jamie and invited him over to enjoy some unbelievable brisket,
an unbelievable smoked turkey from a smoker and great desserts and great
everything.
Do you think Jamie would have considered coming at him?
How far away?
That was the,
that was the bait.
We didn't want it.
We didn't,
we didn't,
uh,
it would have been like a 30 to 45 minute drive.
I don't think he would have come.
Yeah.
Okay.
30 to 45 minute drive from where the flex draft was or where I was
saying where the flex draft was. I where I was staying I mean I went
somewhat out of the way to see Nando
so
would that have been enough
like great food and good company
I think he said he likes
Nando five times more than he likes Dan
he said to me
that must mean
he likes Nando ten times more than Adam, I guess.
Very good.
I would have gone.
I think you would have too.
I think next time if this works out the same way,
I'm going to invite you in.
I got to go.
I got to go.
When Dan was telling that story, he was like,
I just love the camaraderie.
That being said, this is my last show here with CD.
Fare well. Dear God, I hope not. All right. We got to go.
Thank you very much for Jamie and naked Dan. I am Adam.
We'll talk to you on Monday with preseason.
