Yeah!
Woo!
41-17, was that the final score?
It was the final score, right?
It's not much.
41-17, Hurricanes, yeah!
You know, I'm old enough to remember when it took a little bit more than beating an unranked middling team for Miami fans to throw a celebration.
Well, we needed something to celebrate.
How down are the Hurricanes?
Yeah, the Gators are bad.
Welcome to the show, everybody.
This is Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas.
Adam Azer here representing the Miami
Hurricanes with Jamie Isenberg. By the way, this was
Schaefer's idea. He gave me the fight song.
I wouldn't normally rub it in like that, but
he gave me the fight song. What
was more insulting?
What Cam Ward said about the
swamp?
What the
Hurricanes did to the Gators overall?
Or what Dave did to Thomas to insult him about winning the bet.
What did Dave do?
I didn't even see that.
You sent the gif, whatever the hell we're calling it,
in our text chat.
And I said, is this –
And Thomas said, is this it?
And I said, oh, I'll take Adam because we made a bet
that the loser had
to tweet something from the other person's
preference.
Dave said, no, no, no.
I have something special for you, meaning
me. I said, too late. I already tweeted
out the gif, whatever,
gilf.
Oh, God.
Well, there we go. Sunday Oh, God. And, and.
Well, there we go.
Sunday nights are always special.
It's the first Sunday night of the season.
And I'm a weird, weird guy when it comes to the things I do with my hands.
It's a conversation that you have to have if you're into handcuffs.
Okay.
Anyway, let's get to the point.
No.
So I tweeted, I tweeted out and Dave goes, well, now I've lost interest.
And Thomas goes, thanks.
Right, right.
Dave had something up his sleeve for Jamie.
Anyway, welcome to the show.
Today we're going to do some bold predictions.
It's Sunday night.
This is our Labor Day show.
I hope everyone has a great holiday. We have great, great news that Ricky Pearsall is out of the hospital, on the road to recovery after being shot in the chest.
Holy cow.
Unbelievable story., horrible story.
Feels so bad for Ricky Pearsall, but so happy that he is okay
and out of the hospital.
That is just terrific to see.
We'll have news and notes.
I have some ADP risers and fallers.
Obviously, a lot of drafts over the weekend.
Obviously, more drafts coming up before the season starts on Thursday
with Kansas City hosting Baltimore.
Give me one bold prediction.
Heath, you good?
One bold prediction?
I've got all kinds of bold predictions.
It's going to hit me.
Yeah.
Rashi Rice will break the record for the most receptions by a chief
and finishes a top 12 wide receiver.
What's the record?
What's the number?
Tyreek had 111, I believe.
Oh. His last year, right? Mmreek had 111, I believe. Oh.
His last year, right?
Mm-hmm.
Okay, top 12 wide receiver,
Chiefs record for most receptions,
Rasheed Rice.
I said that sentence completely backwards
for some reason.
Jamie, what is your bold prediction?
That, let's see, I'll go with
Jaden Daniels has become the fourth
quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000
yards. Okay.
Okay. Which one's more likely?
Heath's or Jamie's?
Neither. That's why they're
bold. No, I think
they're realistic bold predictions.
I'd say Jamie's is more likely.
Jaden Daniels is 1,000 predictions. I'd say Jamie's is more likely. Jayden Davis, 1,000 yards.
Yeah, I have Rice projected at like 92% of his,
and I don't have 920 yards projected for Daniels,
so I'll say Rice is more likely.
Okay.
I'll read one of Dave's.
Dave's not on the show today,
but he gave me his bold predictions.
Joe Burrow finishes as QB1.
I'm getting nervous about the Chase stuff.
I wish I knew if there was anything to this,
but are you guys worried about Chase getting injured?
Or are you getting injured?
Or Lamb getting injured?
Because they didn't practice?
I mean, I know they obviously were working out.
It's not like they were sitting on the couch.
But you can't really simulate training camp and hits and preseason.
Not that they were going to play in the preseason so much anyway.
I think it is slightly more likely, but I'm not worried about it.
Okay.
Because he cannot be QB1 without Chase playing probably 15 games, right?
I mean, he needs Chase.
Oh, of course.
I don't think Dave would say that if he knew Chase wasn't going to play.
Right.
I guess I'm a nervous guy who has a lot of Jamar Chase and some Joe Burrow.
How's your weekend going, guys?
How's your holiday?
I went to a friend's house.
I didn't fall asleep.
Well, that makes one of us.
Yeah. Go ahead. Go ahead. You
can tell. You can tell the story. Where were you? I don't know. I got a text message. Yeah.
Adam's at my house. He follows me twice. Yeah. I drove out to Nando's today with the family,
like an hour and a half drive almost. And I was up till 5 a.m. You know, I went to sleep really
early, but then I woke up at 1.30, and I was up until 5.
I was exhausted, so I just kept falling asleep on his couch.
Fell asleep once.
He made fun of me.
He took pictures.
Fell asleep again.
He made fun of me.
He took pictures.
Sent it to a different group of friends.
What are your wife and kids doing while you're sleeping on his couch?
They're playing with his kids.
Okay.
Yeah, they're all having fun.
I honestly didn't really feel like I could safely drive home if I didn't get a nap in.
Or two.
Have you ever fallen asleep at a friend's house?
All the time.
Yeah.
Not in the last 15 years.
Yes, that happened a lot in high school and college, I guess.
No, today's been a really refreshing, fantastic afternoon.
My parents had their first fantasy football draft ever this evening in their neighborhood.
I guess a fairly serious league, except I don't understand.
On a different site, the Superflex position is called something completely different.
I've never heard of it before.
I had to look it up to see what the position was.
And it's just a super flex.
You could start anyone.
So somehow my parents got both Josh Allen and Jalen hurts in a super flex league and they got Jonathan Taylor also.
And they're just absolutely crushing the league.
So they're going to think that they cheated because they're related to you.
Exactly.
Yes.
The only bad news that they got was when the draft grades came out at the end of the night,
they got an A and they were the highest ranked team, which of course is a terrible thing.
Kiss of death.
I hear some news and notes for you as we get ready for week one.
Mark Andrews is going to play in week one.
Marquise Brown is out in week one.
And this is Kansas City and Baltimore on Thursday.
It's at Arrowhead.
Clyde Edwards-Zulair is nice to see him back
participating in individual drills.
Samaj P. Ryan is going to play,
so that running back rotation, I don't know that Clyde,
I'm assuming you guys are not expecting Clyde to play this week?
No.
Okay, so we'll see.
But Samaj P. Ryan will play.
We'll see how the runningajit Piran will play.
We'll see how the running backs shake out for the Chiefs.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce feels really good about Brock Bowers playing in week one at the Chargers.
Marshawn Lloyd participated in team drills.
They have the Friday game in Brazil against Philadelphia.
Dallas Goddard, same game.
He returned to practice after being out with an oblique injury.
We got Tyler Lockett and Keenan Allen on the injury report.
Jamie, what are we thinking about Lockett and Allen
and their availability for this week
with Tyler Lockett against Denver
and Keenan Allen against Tennessee?
I did not really dive into a lot of the injury news yet,
but we have a text chain, myself, Heath, and Dave, about who we
rank and who we don't rank. And Dave sent us
his takes on a couple
guys. Heath did also, but Dave did say
we're not ranking Tyler Lockett this week.
So my guess is that doesn't sound very optimistic.
I think he said Keenan Allen's playing,
if I'm not mistaken, right?
I think I said Allen. There was optimistic
reports about Allen. So we are ranking Allen.
I think the only guys we're not ranking right now,
I guess Clyde, Lockett, Downs, Marquise Brown,
and there was one more, right?
Not ranking?
Yes.
Ricky Pearsall.
Yeah, there you go.
DJ Reader, Lions defensive tackle.
He could miss week one facing the Rams on Sunday night,
one of the marquee games.
The Dolphins signed wide receiver Robbie Chosen.
The Dolphins agreed to a three-year extension
with head coach Mike McDaniel.
That's through 2028.
Josh Jacobs said that the Chiefs tried to sign him.
That was interesting.
And Cleveland cornerback Denzel Ward
is clear of the concussion protocol.
There's just two running backs.
He said the Chiefs tried to sign him or the Giants?
No, he said the Chiefs.
Jacob said he wouldn't go to the Chiefs because they were his rival when he was on the Raiders,
and he hates them.
He also said the Giants, too, tried to sign him.
Oh, that doesn't surprise me.
And he said that they offered $4 or $5 million more than what he signed for in Green Bay,
but he didn't take it because of the New York taxes.
Oh, wow. And I don't believe that for a second. Yeah, I don't know if I believe
any of this story. Man, Hard Knocks didn't say anything about Josh Jacobs for what that's worth.
Well, I mean, that might have been, you know, team saying, hey, we don't want to insult Saquon,
so don't put that in there, please. But yeah, who knows? Well, I think, you know,
just reading a little bit of Twitter,
people are thinking like, oh, wow, they wanted to sign Josh Jacobs.
Does that mean they don't really have faith in Pacheco?
And then there's still a lot of people that are expecting doom for Kyron Williams because of the punt return thing.
There's a lot of people thinking Slaje P. Ryan's just taking the McKinnon role.
And that, I think, would not be an
insignificant thing here.
These are two guys who are mid-second
round picks in a lot of drafts.
Kyron and Pacheco.
Where's your faith level there? Let's start with Kyron first.
If you were
concerned about Kyron before this,
this should not change your mind.
This is really a non-story.
He was the punt returner to start the season last year.
Yeah, so if you weren't concerned about him before this.
Correct. I'm sorry. What did I say?
If you weren't concerned, this shouldn't concern you.
I got concerned about Kyron Williams
because this offensive line could be a mess.
Like, left tackle suspended for two games.
Haverstein's dealing with an injury.
Jonah Jackson's dealing with an injury. Jonah Jackson's dealing with it.
Like they're the three starters could be missing potentially.
Um,
haven't seen,
excuse me.
Um,
and that's concerning,
you know what I mean?
But it's,
you know,
look,
and then you factor in quorum and his role.
And the thing that really,
only thing that came out of that for me,
that made me a little bit little skittish was,
um,
he said
we have confidence in McVay we have confidence in Blake Quorum and Ronnie Rivers to handle
touch whatever however he phrased it but he mentioned both those guys and are they going
to use two other guys like that's not a McVay thing like he's never really used two guys
is he gonna use three I don't think so, but who knows? So, I mean,
Kyron just,
you know,
the injuries,
it just feels like it,
he was being overdrafted a little bit.
Well,
are you,
do you think middle of round two is too early for him?
No,
but for me,
it was more dropping him behind the guys that I had after him.
So I put him behind ETN.
I put him behind Josh Jacobs.
I still have Pacheco ahead of him because I do think that Pacheco is not going to lose too much.
But I just dropped him behind all those guys.
And he starts with the Lions, and they were one of the best run defenses in football last year.
So they gave up the second fewest fantasy points to running backs.
They gave up the fewest rushing yards per game to running backs, yards per carry.
But you're not sitting him.
No, no.
It's just unfortunate.
You don't want him to get off to a bad start.
And I mentioned that DJ Reader may not play,
but he wasn't even on the team last year.
So they were one of the best run defenses in football
without DJ Reader.
All right.
And anything you want to add, Heath?
You want to talk about Pacheco?
Does this Jacobs story mean anything?
No, it didn't mean anything to me.
I didn't move Pacheco.
I didn't move Kyron.
Okay.

All right, this is our bold prediction show.
I was told to ask you about a rainbow cookie.
A rainbow cookie?
I don't know.
I honestly have no idea what that means.
Nando said you left a tiny slice of a rainbow cookie instead of eating it.
Oh, it wasn't a cookie.
It was like a cake.
It was one of those like red and green.
It wasn't rainbow.
You know, those like red and green and black cookie cake things.
No.
Let's see if I can.
Yeah, there was one sitting there and I took a a slice and nobody ate it i took another slice i
took another slice i guess i guess i could have just finished it but i left i left a little bit
for them i don't know i thought i was being i thought i was being nice hey did you did you
did you see our mailbag video yet no i did not oh please go watch yeah yeah we've had some good
comedy lately all right so we've got rashid Rice will break the record for most receptions by a chief
and finish as a top 12 wide receiver.
That was one of Heath's bold predictions.
Give me another one, Heath.
Matt says those are called cookies.
Marzipan.
There it is.
Marzipan.
I don't think it was marzipan
to be honest with you, but...
James Cook will finish top four
amongst all running backs
in touches, catches, and PPR fantasy points.
Okay.
James Cook.
He's not here.
No idea.
Okay.
Yeah.
Good one.
Yeah.
James Cook.
Great.
He's on the bills.
Jamie, how likely do you think that one is?
James Cook will finish top four
amongst all running backs
in touches, catches,
and PPR fantasy points.
That's pretty bold.
All right.
And then give me your
Trey McBride bold prediction.
Trey McBride will lead all tight ends
in targets, catches,
and PPR fantasy points.
Okay.
It's very straightforward predictions.
Tight ends, targets, catches, and PPR fantasy points.
Is that bold enough, Jamie?
That McBride will?
I mean, yeah.
That's, you know, asking him to, you know,
basically become the new Travis Kelsey.
Yeah, sorry.
I'm just trying to find this.
You still have no idea what kind of cookies these are?
Okay, Jamie, give me your bold predictions.
You gave us one about Jaden Daniels rushing for 1,000 yards.
What else you got?
Marvin Harrison Jr. will set the rookie receiving record
that Puka Nakua set last year.
He'll be the first rookie wide receiver with 1,500 receiving yards.
Wow, okay.
1,500 receiving yards for Marvin Harrison Jr.
And one more.
All of the prominent receivers age 31 years or older will not finish as top 20 fantasy receivers.
Now that is a bold prediction. So that does not include Tyreek Hill, right? So that's Adams.
31 or older. So that is Cooper Cup, Devante Adams, Mike Evans.
And I put DeAndre Hopkins and Keenan Allen in there as well.
Yeah.
What about Diggs?
Is he 30 or 31?
Diggs will be 31 in November.
But you know what's interesting?
You know when he tailed off last year?
Right after his 30th birthday.
Oh, wow.
He partied too hard.
Okay.
So this is a very bold prediction.
Are they just Italian rainbow cookies?
Maybe.
Let's see. I've just, I got Google
images of Italian rainbow cookies.
Yeah, yeah, those things.
So, like, when Jamie asked
you about the rainbow cookie, he was asking you about the
rainbow cookie.
Yeah, but if he had said Italian, I would have been like,
oh, maybe. They're not really, they're three colors. What kind of a rainbow has three colors? i would have been like oh maybe they're not really
they're three colors what kind of a rainbow has three colors but yeah there's like they're cakes
they're not even really cookies they're cakes so yeah that's a little bit for them is that no i
think that is a it is a bold prediction from jamie i think it is a bolder prediction for probably you
and definitely for adP and the industry.
Like the only one of those guys
that I'm super high on is Mike Evans.
I agree with him about Devante Adams.
I agree with him about Amari Cooper.
And I think Cooper Cup
is maybe just inside my top 20.
I think it's a bold prediction
and it's a good prediction.
Except the Mike Evans part.
Cooper's 30. So he's not in the Mike Evans part. Cooper's 30.
So he's not in this group.
I'm sorry.
Cooper's 30.
Yes.
Yeah.
Well,
he should throw him in there.
Yeah.
Uh,
here are two others from Dave.
Derek Henry finishes as a,
as a top five running back,
even in PPR.
And,
uh,
Xavier worthy outproduces all rookie wide receivers,
except Marvin Harrison.
I like that.
Xavier Worthy wide receiver.
You hate that.
Well, I mean, I like the boldness of it.
I like it too.
Yeah.
They're both bold.
Yeah.
Jamie, it seems like throughout the draft process,
you've been a little lower on Derrick Henry.
Is that fair?
As we've gone on, yes.
Just the offensive line, a little bit of a concern.
I think just going through this, we had this conversation a little while ago.
Raheem Mostert is 32.
Derrick Henry is 30.
The difference between the two of them
is about six rounds, right?
Five, six rounds,
depending on what ADP you look at.
One just scored 21 touchdowns
and ran for 18.
One we're hoping is going to score 20 touchdowns.
I just closed the gap a little bit
between those two guys in particular.
And one has like 1,350 more carries
in his career than the other.
It's amazing that Raheem Mostert has 674 career carries and he's 32.
That kind of illustrates the reason, though.
One's suffered a lot more injuries than the other
or missed a lot more time with injuries.
All right, I'm going to take a look at some ADP risers and fallers
here from over the weekend.
You go to look at our ADP.
You see the arrows up or down.
Tell me what you guys make of this.
Risers and fallers.
Jerome Ford is up five spots to 93rd overall.
Jerome Ford is now ahead of Devin Singletary
and Jalen Warren.
Jerome Ford is up five spots to 93rd overall.
Yeah, it's a little higher than I like.
I think he's maybe going around earlier than I have him.
But I understand.
I saw some people tweeting today about Nick Chubb may miss the first half of the season.
That wouldn't really surprise me.
Okay.
Would you take Devin Singletary and or Jalen Warren ahead of Jerome Ford?
I would.
Okay.
Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels are moving up
right around pick 100.
They have moved ahead of Jared Goff,
Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels.
I'm sorry, I wouldn't pay attention.
What?
Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels
have moved ahead of Jared Goff.
They're around pick 100.
They should be.
That's exactly where I have them and ahead of Jared Goff. They're around pick 100. They should be. That's exactly where I have them
and ahead of Jared Goff, so I agree.
Brian Thomas Jr. is up six spots.
He's now ahead of Jamison Williams.
Brian Thomas Jr. is now 120th overall in our ADP.
That's a steal, right?
Still a great value.
Yeah.
Chuba Hubbard up nine spots to 100.
Oh, wait, actually, would you take Brian Thomas or Jamison Williams?
I would take Thomas by one spot, two spots.
Thomas by about a round.
Chuba Hubbard up nine spots to 128th overall.
It's expected with the Jonathan Brooks news,
but you don't want to overvalue him because if Brooks comes back,
you could dominate touch.
Yeah,
I don't.
So he's around and a half behind Jerome Ford.
Yeah.
I mean,
the interesting thing about this is that,
I mean,
I said this,
I think on our last show,
right?
You've got a guy like Chuba Hubbard,
who's up nine spots to 128th overall.
Well,
that means in recent drafts,
I don't know.
He's,
he's not going 128th overall he's going
earlier than that it's pulling his old adp up to 128th overall right and the same thing with
jerome ford who's up five spots to 93rd overall so jerome ford might be going in the 80s and
chuba chubbard might be going in the 110 range i obviously these are just still i like hubbard better yeah at those you like
hubbard better than ford well if i can get hubbard in the 110s or ford and 80s oh agreed yeah i think
the thing you got to look at with your with your teams is like there are people that draft hubbard
and ford with the idea of using them early like you know you know, hero RB zero RB, you know, options.
If you, if you have a good running back core, like don't take those guys, take Blake Corum,
take Trey Benson, take, you know, guys that are going to be potentially difference makers
in the second half of the season.
If you're never going to play Ford or Hubbard, like why you draft him?
Yeah.
The bi-week start in week five.
It's possible
that Brooks and Chubb are back by the time
the bye weeks kick in and that's what you drafted
Chuba Hubbard to be. He's a bye week replacement.
However, the way I've been thinking of it
and I don't know how you guys feel about it is Brooks
tore his ACL. He's going to come back. I don't
know when he's going to come back, but it wouldn't
shock me if he's back as soon as he's eligible to come
off week five. Chubb i am nervous about with that injury it was so much worse than just
a torn acl so that's got to be why and like ford had a good year last year that's got to be why
ford goes probably two rounds earlier didn't do poorly at the end of the season i mean you know
he was okay he didn't score but the the the difference is that the offense is so much better
and Carolina should be so much better.
I mean, the offensive line's better.
The coach is better.
Compared to Carolina last year,
you're not saying it's going to be better than Cleveland.
Correct.
Yeah.
I mean, it might be as good.
Who knows?
But I actually think, I'm thinking about it.
Who do you guys think, before Brooks and Chubb come back,
who has a higher percentage of the touches in their respective backfields,
Ford or Hubbard?
I would think Ford because I don't know exactly what's going on with Foreman.
He's been banged up twice in camp.
I mean, we haven't heard a peep about Miles Sanders.
Yeah, I was going to say, I thought you might have a bite.
Right. That's why I was thinking Miles Sanders.
I don't know. Feels like it's either.
I think it's. Yeah.
Like Miles Sanders and seem like a big threat to Hubbard.
But I don't know.
OK, yeah, we don't know. We'll see.
Let's see who's next on here.
Josh Palmer up four spots to 131st overall.
Still a steal, right?
Correct.
Yeah.
Josh Palmer, let's call him a round 11 pick.
Antonio Gibson and Ty Chandler are up four spots to 140th overall.
Heath, any idea why Antonio Gibson and Ty Chandler might be risers?
I think Ty Chandler is a great value and
maybe just some, some sharper people realizing that he's a really good pick that could be a
flex with Aaron Jones and could be an RB two. If Aaron Jones gets hurt, I think, you know, Gibson,
Gibson is going to matter at some point during the season. Now again, terrible team and he's
not been great, but he's the next man up in New England.
And this offense is still going to score some points.
And they're still going to move the ball.
And they're still going to get some production from that spot.
So I don't think they should be drafted in the same range.
I think Chandler's a much better sleeper.
But Gibson's not somebody you should forget about.
Speaking of sleeping, by the way, Chandler, one of my favorite sleepers, Adam,
also one of my favorite sleepers.
That's why you weren't paying attention.
You got the picture of me sleeping on Nando's couch.
That's yeah.
That, I mean, you really made yourself comfortable.
Yeah.
Like I don't, how many people's houses, Jamie, could you fall asleep that comfortably like in the living room
in the middle of the day usually if i fall asleep with somebody's house like i'm sitting on the i'm
sitting up i would just lay down did you ask them if they had a blanket no they should offer it in
my opinion at one point i my mouth was like wide open as i was sleeping i was like like you went
to sleep like that's not that, oh. You went to sleep.
That's not – you went to go take a nap.
And twice.
And on two different couches too.
Like my parents' house, I could fall asleep like that in the living room.
I'm a big napper.
I nap all the time.
So this was not – it's a great picture.
All right.
Marshawn Lloyd is up five spots to 151st overall.'s back i mean he's the clear handcuff why don't we ever do shows during the day
i know right
marshawn lloyd up five spots and uh good to see him on the mend avoided the pup list
and back at practice that's an interesting one because you know you have the entry that's
you know i mean you know you were confused adam i think a lot of people were you know was he going on the public
list was he not going to publicist um and so after you know it's like aj dylan's injury is really
making people increase their their attention on marshall lloyd unless he just fell before this
you know and he's coming back i thought if josh jacobs got hurt i thought that lloyd would be in a in a timeshare with aj dylan which kind of reduced his sleeper appeal
his handcuff appeal yes i don't feel that way anymore well it could be emmanuel wilson yeah
but but you knew i felt like if dylan had any role in that scenario it would be the goal line back
yeah uh by the way thomas said in our chat that's a couch that turns into a bed too you should have I felt like if Dylan had any role in that scenario, it would be the goal line back. Yeah.
By the way, Thomas said in our chat,
that's a couch that turns into a bed too.
You should have just took the extra step and pulled it out.
I'm just imagining you under some sheets.
I was sorry.
I was exhausted.
It was a long drive.
I ate a lot. It was an hour and a half drive. It was a long drive. I ate a lot. It was an hour and a half drive.
It's a long drive.
That cookie cake thing really made me crash a little bit.
There he is.
I feel better now.
I had work to get ready, but I needed energy.
All right.
Our fallers in ADP.
Anthony Richardson is down three spots to 66th overall.
Anthony Richardson is behind Jordan Love and Dak Prescott.
Do you think people are reacting to preseason?
Yes.
Are they overreacting to preseason on Anthony Richardson?
Yes.
Definitely by drafting him behind Love and Dak.
Okay.
Stroud, Burrow, ardson how do you rank him
richardson stroud burrow
burrow richardson stroud yeah it's not a cookie i'm aware matt it's a cake i'm the one who said
it was a cake they were saying it was a cookie and it was bigger than they were giving it credit
for he said it was like cutting an m&m in half it's not no it was big it was a cookie and it was bigger than they were giving it credit for. He said it was like cutting an M and M in half.
It's not,
no,
it was big.
It was a big pastry.
All right.
Keenan.
No,
it wasn't.
I was,
I told you I was up to five Keenan Allen down three spots to 97th overall.
You know,
Heath,
we were,
it was during draft a thon.
Katie mocks was on and we were helping her make a pick.
And it just got to the point where it's like, are people just completely writing off Keenan Allen?
And we had more.
Well, OK, I'm getting made fun of for having my shoes off in that picture.
Listen, this is actually this is actually like I don't know how you guys are, but I take my shoes off when I go to other people's house.
I take my shoes off at my own house.
Most houses I feel these days are shoes off houses.
Yeah.
Right.
I think you're right.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I think Keenan Allen has fallen to a point to where he's a good value.
And there's a decent chance that we all just like overblew this thing.
Yeah.
And he's actually a good wide receiver three.
I would take him about five spots before where he's going.
More cookie cake.
Keenan Allen or Adam?
See, that's the thing.
I feel like the weight thing is probably overblown.
So does most people.
So he's down to 97th overall.
Jared Goff is down six spots, but to 104th overall.
He's now behind, as I mentioned, Caleb Williams and Jaden Daniels.
But I want to see if he's still ahead of a bunch of guys.
But, yeah, Jared Goff falling.
I didn't really know.
But six spots is actually kind of a lot, to be honest with you.
So let me sort by quarterbacks here. Sorry.
Jared Goff is still ahead
of Tua. He's behind
Purdy, Daniels, and Caleb Williams. He's ahead
of Tua, Trevor Lawrence, Herbert.
Thoughts on Goff?
He was
going too early.
So that's probably fine.
I think, you know, like
we talked about this, you know, like we've,
we talked about this,
you know,
like if you're in on the rookie quarterbacks and if you wanted to,
you know,
play it the other way,
as opposed to taking the guy with more upside first,
you take off first and then hope that you can get Caleb or Daniels on the
way back.
I love golf this week.
Absolutely love golf this week.
Cannot love them enough.
Hint hint.
It's going to be a big week
for Jerry Goff.
All right.
Hey, should I start?
Not that I would,
but bold prediction
since it's a bold prediction show.
Jamison Williams
scores more fantasy points
than DK Metcalf
in week one.
Metcalf getting Sertand.
Is he?
I would think so.
The way they used Sertand last year,
Metcalf, he never
does well. I shouldn't say never. He rarely
does well against elite cornerbacks.
That's a guy that I'd be a little nervous
about this week. That's bold.
Yeah, I will see how it works out.
Of course, if Tyler Lockett doesn't
play, it's definitely going to help him.
All right.
Who scores more, Jamison or
JSN?
JSN.
JSN. I would imagine.
If you're ranking this week, you're ranking JSN,
then Jamison, then DK?
No.
No chance.
He would just...
It's a fair question. I would chicken out.
I would rank him Metcalf.
That's what I meant. Adam has just said that he would rank them that way. That's the way that it's a fair question. I would chicken out. I would rank him Metcalf. No, that's what I meant. Like Adam has just said that he would rank them that way.
And that's the way that it's going to score.
But he would chicken out.
No, as a bold prediction.
Yeah.
I mean, look, I think it's kind of as a philosophy,
it's like you can't just always go with your gut.
You got to go with DK Metcalf is by far the most proven receiver in that trio.
There's got to be something said about that.
And even when players get shadowed,
they don't get shadowed 100% of the time. They might get shadow get shadowed 70 of the time so you don't want to overreact
but if i was doing a dfs lineup i sure as hell would not have dk metcalf in it i'll tell you that
um okay sorry lad mcconkey down four spots to 114th overall and ezekiel elliott down four spots
jamison williams is down four spots. Jamison Williams is down four spots.
So those three guys are all being drafted similarly.
McConkie, Zeke, and Jamison Williams.
Any thoughts on those guys being fallers?
McConkie's interesting because, you know, I think we're...
I don't want to speak for Heath.
I know, obviously, Dave's a Josh Palmer guy.
I'm a Josh Palmer guy.
For most of the offseason, I think everybody was almost a Ladd-McConkie guy.
And ADP was definitely a Ladd-McConkie guy.
So he could still be the best receiver there.
You know, it's easy to say Palmer's got the relationship, the rapport with Herbert,
but it's a new offense, new system.
You know, this is the guy that they invested in and let a lot of big time guys go walk out the door so McConkie could you
know maybe not the beginning of the season but by the end of the year be the best Chargers year but
that wouldn't be a surprise so I I have McConkie five spots ahead of Palmer I think they're great
both great values I think Palmer is probably more likely to score more fantasy points,
but McConkie's more likely to really matter.
I'm trying to find an old draft.
You know, I'm going to take a break.
Tell me you're going to take a nap?
Here's a post-NFL draft mock draft, and I'll tell you,
where did Ladd McConkie go?
Let's find out.
And I bet I drafted him.
No, Heath drafted him.
I'll tell you
where we drafted lad mcconkie just after the nfl draft and a half ppr league after that is
interesting we should go back and review like our first draft after this break on fantasy football
today who knew jamie was such a bad driver if you're watching our promo on youtube there all
right lad mcconkie he took him with the first pick of round
seven. First
pick of round seven.
Right before Keenan Allen.
Also in this round, Jordan
Addison, Nick Chubb.
I took Kyler Murray.
I'd still take him over all three of those guys.
Roma Dunze and Xavier Worthy
were also in this round. So the rookie receivers
were coming off the board.
Where did Neighbors go?
Neighbors went in round five to Jacob Gibbs.
You want to see any other stuff here?
Who jumps out?
Where did Javante Williams go?
Javante Williams was in round eight.
Third pick of round eight.
That changed.
James Conner was the first pick of round eight. That was pretty good. Jayden Daniels, second pick of round eight. That changed. James Conner was the first pick of round eight.
That was pretty good.
Jayden Daniels, second pick of round eight.
How about Caleb?
Where did Caleb Williams go?
Round nine.
George Kittle to Jamie Eisenberg.
Pick 9.3.
Nice pick.
And then it took Raheem Mostert.
That was another good one.
A-chan, where'd he go?
A-chan was third pick of round four.
Wow. Ayuk was the third pick of round four. Wow.
Ayuk was the ninth pick of round three.
Debo went six picks ahead of that, five picks ahead of that.
Was this the – did Dan have the first pick?
Heath had the first pick.
He took McCaffrey.
Dan had the second pick. I wonder if this was the draft that Dan did that he said he looked at my rankings,
but he didn't, and took Marquise Brown in, like, the 2-3 turn?
No. Jamie, you took Marquise Brown
at the end of round eight, and then he took
Rasheed Rice two picks later.
Wow. Yeah.
DJ Moore went early. DJ Moore went
14th overall,
but the first round is pretty much exactly
what the first round is now
for us anyway. Jameer Gibbs
is up there, but Saquon Barkley
is the first pick of round two.
Yeah, this looks pretty normal.
Okay.
All right, good segment.
Let's talk about some backfields
in week one
that you really want to see
how things play out.
To me, it starts with Miami
and Cincinnati.
I don't know about you guys,
but those are big ones.
Imagine if A-Chan gets like 10 touches in week one,
people are going to 10 touches result in, you know,
five yards per carry and you know, seven yards per word note,
eight yards per carry. And, uh, what was the 11 yards per catch?
Yeah. Uh, whatever it was. Um, pretty good.
Um, the Steelers Steelers and Titans.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's so many here.
Chiefs.
I do want to see who the third down back is Cleveland.
They're definitely going to mix someone else in there.
You know,
they're never,
they haven't been,
I don't think it's forming if he's healthy.
Yeah.
Who's the third down back.
Is it forming?
I feel like he was actually used that way in the preseason,
you know, bears. Yeah. There's the third down back? Is it Foreman? I feel like he was actually used that way in the preseason.
You know, Bears.
Yeah.
Bears are going, yeah.
Almost every backfield.
I want to see if Tank Bigsby is going to be the goal line guy.
That would bother me.
That would make me angry.
I was going to ask you earlier.
Washington.
Yeah, I was going to ask you,
is there a big difference in your mind between Antonio Gibson in New England
and Austin Eckler in Washington?
Age?
Yeah.
Hope.
Role, though.
Week one touches.
You think there's a big difference there?
Not really.
I have not done Washington projections yet.
I would guess that if there is a chance of one of the two
getting more running down opportunities,
it would be Eckler over Gibson.
Yeah, I would agree.
Atlanta, you think Tyler Algier is going to be a thorn in the side
of the second or third best running back in fantasy?
I think there'd be.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, if.
Not really.
No.
We may have some surprise freakout moments.
We may have some in that game between the Jets and the 49 like you know are the 49ers going to throw christian mcafree out there for his usual workload
or be concerned and you know be a little bit cautious because of the calf and use maybe
jordan mason a little too much are we going to see the jets use braylon allen in a role that we
didn't see anybody used in tandem with bruce hall last year like i don't think that's going to
happen but you know, you never know.
You've mentioned Algier, you know, Algier could have,
what if it's a 50 50 split and Bichon's just dominating passing downs work as
well. Like that's going to freak people out.
Yeah. That's going to be terrible. That's going to be terrible.
Even if he is dominating on passing downs, there's, if it's a 50 50 split,
if it's a 60 40 split,
do you think Bichon Robinson could warrant a top five pick?
60-40 split?
No, you can't.
Yeah, that would be bad.
60-40 rushing, yes.
I think so.
But as long as Bijan's got like 90% of the receiving.
But it's got to be a significant uptick in a passing production.
What did he have last year?
Was he like a 60 catch
guy?
Probably not quite that much.
Let's see.
58?
Yeah, 58
in the headache game.
So he's a 60 catch guy
last year.
Alright.
I guess we can...
Dallas, is that backfield? Oh yeah, sure. By guess we can, you know what?
Dallas, that backfield.
Oh yeah, sure.
By the way, do you think you like Dave Montgomery this week?
Yes.
He's going to score, right?
I like everything Lions this week.
I think they're going to win.
It's the highest I'll run to the week.
What are you thinking about Thursday?
I know I'm going to ask you again on Wednesday,
but high scoring game or low-scoring game?
Or in the middle?
Chiefs-Ravens.
I would think low-scoring, but...
You don't want to say that with all that firepower,
but those were the two best defenses in football
in terms of points per game allowed last year.
They both lost some pieces, though.
They did.
Did the Chiefs lose more than just Snead?
I mean, I feel like they have almost everybody back
except for Snead.
The Ravens lost some pieces.
Yeah.
I think they may have had some addition by subtraction also.
So, yeah.
Pretty much mostly just Snead.
Yeah.
All right.
Two of the Titans have this week?
Bears.
Ooh, DJ Moore.
DJ Moore is going to get Sneaded.
If they use him like that.
Yeah, that's definitely one thing I'll be looking to see.
How are you feeling about this Friday game?
Happy about it?
Yes.
I'm supposed to play tennis on Friday.
No, you're not.
Yeah, I am.
I am.
It's Friday night.
Friday night, I'm supposed to play tennis.
6 o'clock.
It's football season.
What time does the game start?
8.15.
So you're going to be done playing tennis by then, won't you?
I don't know.
They play until it's dark.
I don't even know what time it gets to.
Yeah.
You're not allowed to have a life anymore.
Football season is starting.
This is the last week.
We're done.
This is the last week I'll be able to go to a friend's house and sleep on their couches. Let me see if I can read some emails here.
Fantasyfootball at cbsi.com.
Fantasyfootball at cbsi.com.
That's the letter I.
Oh, I know what I forgot to promote.
This is actually really exciting news.
For those of you who are big fans,
you've been hanging out with us on Sunday mornings
from 11.30 to 1 p.m.
as we help you get your lineup set.
That's Eastern.
That's 11.30 to 1 PM as we help you get your lineup set. That's Eastern. That's 1130 to kickoff.
Well now Dave and,
and I don't know about Jamie,
but Dave and Heath are going to be there for big chunks of it.
It's basically going to be me,
Dave and Heath,
hopefully Jamie from time to time on Sunday morning.
It's going to be on youtube.com slash fantasy football today,
youtube.com slash fantasy football today.
So check it.
So we've got that live stream
on Sunday morning.
This is the best way to get set.
We're not,
it's not really a show.
It's just the Q&A.
We're more or less
just going to answer
as many start to sit questions
as we can.
So you come in there,
enter the chat,
ask your question,
stick around,
and we'll have some fun.
What?
What did I do this time? You didn'll have some fun. What? Nothing.
What'd I do this time?
You didn't do anything wrong.
What time is that starting?
What'd I say?
1130.
I don't know.
AM.
Eastern.
11AM?
1130.
1130.
Got it.
Yeah.
You don't have to be on the whole time.
I'm just putting it on my calendar.
I guess nobody talks to you about this.
No, I'm looking forward
to it it's gonna be great it is good it is a lot of fun actually and uh let me see if i can find
some emails here that's like a lot of grade my team all right this is a question from
nick i've got rishi rice james worthy no But Rasheed Rice, James Worthy, no.
Wow.
Xavier Worthy and Deontay Johnson filling two flex spots and tight end Jake Ferguson on the same team.
Should I trade one of the Chiefs wide receivers to upgrade to Sam Laporta?
And what type of package should I go for here?
I mean, if you could turn Ferguson and Worthy into LaPorta,
that's this deal.
Yeah.
If you could trade Worthy as part of a deal to do that, I would.
I would not trade Rice as part of a deal to upgrade tight end.
What about Deontay?
Would you go just hypothetically?
Would you trade Deontay and Ferguson for LaPorta?
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
Thank you, Nick, for your question.
Glenn
Rice and James Worthy.
Yes. Love it.
Do you think Dan knows who those guys are?
If you don't
know who James Worthy is, yeah, he knows James
Worthy. Does he know Glenn Rice? He probably knows Glenn Rice.
Next Friday, we're going to ask him.
Glenn Rice, no. I was thinking thinking i know who glenn rice is but
six eight from michigan state was steve smith right glenn rice was michigan yeah six eight
from michigan state all right so we're gonna ask him does he know the teams that glenn rice played
for in the nba and what college james worthy went to how How many of Glenn Rice's teams can you name?
Me?
Yeah, I can name three.
I can name three also.
Are there more than three?
Which ones do you have?
Knicks, Heat, Hornets.
Oh, I was going to go... He was on the Lakers, wasn't he?
Heat, Lakers, Hornets.
He was on Knicks?
I feel like there were several more.
Okay, so we've got Rockets, Clippers.
Yeah, I would have gotten four
because I did remember the Lakers.
So I'd be Jamie, that's all.
Question here from Drew.
I drag my feet at tight end.
I find myself with Dallas Goddard
as my best option with TJ Hawkinson and IR.
Another member of my league
has a treasure trove of tight ends.
Kelsey, Kittle, and Njoku
with a roster of running backs
worthy of an elementary school lunch line.
He offered me George Kittle for DeAndre Swift.
Your thoughts?
10-team league, by the way.
Yeah, I like it.
Yeah, I'd do it.
Okay.
Yeah, seems like a fair trade.
Nice job.
Rookie running back to add for my bench from Robert.
Jordan Mason.
He's not a rookie, but that's okay.
Jordan Mason, Ray Davis, Bucky Irving, and Jalen Wright.
Who should he pick up?
I think if you are looking for the most upside, it's Jalen Wright.
So if you don't have any need to play any of these guys,
if Wright ever hits,
I think he could be the best of the bunch.
If you're looking for somebody who might make an instant impact,
it probably Ray Davis, because he could score some touchdowns and steal those from James Cook.
My favorite though is probably Bucky Irving because he could do all of it.
Like he may be,
if something happens to Rashad White,
he could be the best of that group because he would get the
most playing time um are we counting mason or no yeah yeah i mean i guess mason's the ultimate
lottery ticket too too yeah i i agree with jamie there's a good case to be made for all four and
this section of my running back rankings i'm glad that the season's almost ready to start so i can
stop reordering those running backs but but I think Bucky is the one
I currently have ranked highest right now.
He's the one I currently have ranked highest as
well, but again, I think if you're never
going to play any of them, like no
need to play any of them, the guy
I'd probably rather stash is
right.
What is this?
I feel like
I'm going to read something, but.
Oh.
This always works out well for you.
All right.
Nick from the home state of coffee milk and hot wieners.
I don't know where that is.
Okay.
But, you know.
He says, hey, Liz, Jack, Tracy, and Kenneth.
So that's 30 Rock.
That is 30 Rock.
I just finished one of my long-term league drafts.
I love the team name, but I hate the team.
Please grade my team and grade my team name
and make me feel better.
Team name, he asked me to sing this.
Should I sing it?
You know you want to.
Karen on my wayward son.
A plus. I'm going to carry it on my wayward son that a plus um i'm i'm gonna google it now but i think coffee milk and hot wieners has got to be like kenneth's hometown right in from 30 rock like
it just sounds like something he would be telling liz about coffee milk and hot wieners yeah that's
that i agree 10 team ppr draft uh I drafted eighth overall. Here is his team.
Kyler Murray. Rhode Island.
Rhode Island, okay. Kyler Murray.
Kyron Williams and
James Cook.
A.J. Brown, Debo Samuel.
This is just bragging. No, it's not.
It's a 10-team league. He doesn't like it.
Amari Cooper is his wide receiver
three. It's a three-receiver league.
Pat Fryermuth at tight end.
And the flex is Jordan Addison or Najee Harris.
It got worse as it went on.
Bench is Zamir White, JSN, Marquise Brown, Rico Dowdle, Josh Downs.
All right, so Zamir's your flex.
Yeah, it doesn't feel like a great team, but it's not bad.
It started out great.
It's a very good team.
B-plus. team, but it's not bad. It started out great. It's a very good team. B+. He probably went
A.J. Brown, Kyron Williams,
James Cook, Deebo Samuel
with his first four picks. Yes.
Pick five was probably
Cooper
and then Kyler.
And then he filled out the rest of his
roster. It could have been Kyler in round five.
I mean, if quarterbacks went early-ish.
Probably, yeah. Kyler, Cooper in some order. I mean, if quarterbacks went early-ish. Probably, yeah.
Kyler, Cooper, in some order. I don't know who went
first, James Cook or D-Bone. B-plus.
B-plus. All right. Thank you. All right, everybody.
