This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
Here we go!
Email us at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
Here we go!
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Let's go!
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
All right, a Friday evening episode for you.
It is 5 p.m. here, Eastern Time, on Friday.
And this is our mailbag show.
We're taking your emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
And we usually save it until Saturday morning.
But Carlos High just got traded.
And Marshawn Lynch is out for a month.
And everybody wants Nick Chubb.
And Dave is here.
Hey, Dave.
It's been an exciting Friday, Adam.
Sure has. Yeah. It's been an exciting Friday, Adam. Sure has.
Yeah.
It's been exciting and interesting.
And very rarely do you see an NFL trade go down on a Friday.
And here we go.
This one's got all kinds of ramifications.
From all angles.
Let's break it down.
We'll get to your emails.
And I'll give you a FanDuel lineup a little bit later.
Although I shouldn't give you the whole lineup because I'm competing against you.
FanDuel.com slash FFT.
Carlos Hyde. Oh, last thing. Please don't skip over the starter sit for the NFC home games episode. If this is the first episode that you're seeing in your feed
on Friday, please make sure you check out the starter sit episode recorded earlier today. So
we're releasing two episodes here on Friday. Don't skip over that first one. Cleveland traded high to
the Jaguars for a fifth round pick, so
let's go to...
Let's start in Cleveland's backfield.
I'm not even going to look up Nick Chubb's
ownership percentage because it needs to be close to
100%. Oh, yeah.
Although I am kind of curious to know
where it is right now. But he was owned in every single
one of my leagues except for our 10-team league.
Anyway,
yeah, he's a must-own. What are
your expectations for Nick Chubb? Carlos Hyde was averaging about 19 carries per game in Cleveland.
I think Chubb can come very close to that. And he will almost certainly have a better rushing
average than Carlos Hyde. Hyde was averaging 3.4 yards per carry. And this is a guy who's just as physical as Hyde, but has much more speed, certainly is younger,
and hasn't gotten a lot of work through the first six weeks of the season.
He has 16 carries.
He's given you at least 10 yards on four of those 16 carries, including a 63-yard touchdown.
This is fresh legs on a team that has proven that
they are willing to run the football a lot it's an improving offense and it's probably um he's
probably going to be the biggest waiver wire pickup of the year he's not going to be because
he's gonna because he's a free agent you mean tomorrow for the if he's on waivers yeah yeah
well whenever you got him.
Oh, okay.
I know what you're saying.
And remember, we were talking about sashing him earlier this week.
He's 56% owned.
What is that?
56.
Yeah, that's going to be 100.
Yeah.
And all right.
He's a must-own for sure.
Is he a must-start at Tampa Bay this week?
And Duke Johnson definitely gets a bump up, right?
The answer to both of those questions is yes.
He is a must start.
He is a top 15 running back for me this week.
We are jumping in with both feet right into the deep end, cannonball style.
I'm splashing all the old grandmas sitting by the pool.
And then I'm going to come to the surface.
I'm going to spit out water at them and I'm going to say
Nick Chubb, baby!
That's what I'm going to say to all those old ladies who think
I'm rushing it a little bit.
But you look at Tampa Bay's run defense.
They might be up for the game, but they
aren't going to be able to slow him down
assuming he gets the workload that I'm
expecting, which is well over 15
carries per game.
Duke Johnson, Duke Johnson. How about rest of season? assuming he gets the workload that I'm expecting, which is well over 15 carries per game. Yeah.
Well, let's talk rest of season.
I'm sorry?
Yeah, how about rest of season?
Somebody just asked me.
This is his role.
Who's taking this role away from him?
No, I know, but should I trade Nick Chubb for Doug Baldwin in PPR?
Oh, absolutely.
I'm giving up a lot more than Doug Baldwin to get Nick Chubb.
Oh, so you would not trade Chubb for Baldwin.
You'd rather have Chubb.
Oh, no, no.
I didn't know which side of the trade that you were talking about.
I actually said I'd take it because I'm going to temper it just a little bit
because I think if he's not involved in the passing game,
and I don't really expect him to be because Carlos Hyde wasn't
and Duke Johnson will be,
I think that he might be a little touchdown or bust.
And the dude's got 19 carries.
How many carries?
16.
16 carries.
So I'm not ready to anoint Nick Chubb just yet.
This is fine.
It's okay.
And there are a lot of people listening who think I'm crazy for rushing this a little bit.
But this is what his potential is.
There is no one stopping him from being the main back in this offense
we have seen his breakaway speed many times already we saw it in the preseason we saw it
this season we saw it in college a million times and he's part of the reason why the bronze made
this trade is so they could get him on the field they couldn't figure out a way to do it without
it limiting car Hyde.
They just turned Carlos Hyde into a fifth-round pick, by the way.
You absolutely have to get to that.
I would like to say that, well, I don't know.
I would like to say that even if I seem like a little hesitant on Chubb,
I absolutely expect him to be better than Carlos Hyde.
I think he will do better in that role.
But he has not had more than three carries in a game yet.
Their schedule at Tampa Bay, at Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Atlanta.
Oh, my gosh.
It's good.
Oh, my gosh. Pittsburgh's tough, but Kansas City and Atlanta, those are great matchups.
Then a bye at Cincinnati, and then maybe a tough stretch after.
But maybe, actually, I don't really think so.
I would say overall it's a pretty favorable schedule.
Duke Johnson,
is he a must-own?
And I will tie it in with the other news, with
Marshawn Lynch out a month. Who's more of a
must-own player? Jalen Richard,
at least a month, by the way. Could be IR
situation for Marshawn. Jalen Richard
or Duke Johnson?
I've gone back and forth on this one.
Let's talk it out right now.
I don't think Duke Johnson will ever be the main guy in Cleveland.
I think there's a small chance that Jalen could be the main guy in Oakland
because if Marshawn's not around and if Doug Martin does what we've seen Doug Martin do,
then Jalen Rashard should have at least a slim chance to be a 15-touch-a-week running back.
And we've seen him get more catches in games this year than Duke Johnson.
So I think I'm done talking it out.
I'm going to take Jalen Rashard ahead of Duke Johnson.
He's 17% owned, and we had been talking about him for over a week now as a stash,
going into their bye.
And Rashard does not have a game.
This is his third season.
He has not had 10 carries in a game yet.
I don't think I'm interested in him in non-PPR,
nor am I interested in Duke Johnson in non-PPR.
Agree or disagree with that?
They're bench guys in non-PPR.
And I mean, look, I can't sit here and say don't pick up Doug
Martin because any guy who gets carries is worth
having, but I
did not put in one single claim for Doug
Martin. I just, I don't think he's
going to be good.
We already know that the Raiders offensive line is
going to be without,
they're going to be with two rookie tackles
for the rest of the season. They're already without
one of their guards.
The fact that they didn't change an injury report designation form
cost the team $20,000.
And I don't know when Keleche Osemele will be back.
That hurts the run game.
I think that's part of the reason why Marshawn didn't have a good game in London
or the week before.
Sure, absolutely.
And so now Doug Martin's going to play behind that line in an offense
that's going to trail a lot.
I'm not making a move for Doug Martin.
I'm going after Jalen Richard.
Yeah, like you were talking about aging running backs.
I think I'd be a lot more excited, would I,
to own Frank Gore than Doug Martin.
Absolutely.
Gore's better per carry, and obviously you can use him this week.
But I do think Martin gets more carries than Gore on average.
He averaged 2.9 yards per carry, two straight seasons.
He just doesn't do it for me.
I just don't care.
Dave, I think we need to mention DeAndre Washington's name.
And maybe it's just for super deep leagues,
but some of our owners are in those. He hasn't played played yet this year he's recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery
could deandre washington be a factor in the oakland running game so let's just say that
marshall lynch doesn't come back doug martin gets hurt in that case i think you would see
richard and washington split like we did last. And I think we've seen enough from Rashard at this point that he would be the better back of the two.
Washington's got some talent.
I remember liking him better than Rashard at one point, but now it's pretty clear.
All right, we've summed up the Raiders.
Now we've got to talk about Jacksonville.
Hyde yelled in Fournette, what the hell?
What do we do?
So my initial reaction to this was, oh, crap, Fournette's What the hell? What do we do? So my initial reaction to this was
oh crap, Fournette's done for the
year. But there's already
a report
from ESPN Radio in
Jacksonville saying that
Leonard Fournette is expected to return after
the bye in week nine.
Which begs the question, why would they
give up a fifth round pick
for Carlos Hyde
with Fournette expected back?
They couldn't just get by for a couple of games with TJ Yeldon?
Well, Yeldon's dinged up.
Yeldon's on the injury report all the time.
He's going to play this week.
So that leads me to believe that they don't trust Yeldon in this primary role.
And they're going to take it week to week with these running backs.
And I bet Leonard Fournette doesn't get 20 touches in a game this year.
All right.
Give me like a one-to-two-sentence description of fantasy value
for all three running backs.
Let's start with Leonard Fournette.
One-to-two sentences.
Let's say you were tweeting it.
Obvious upside, but risky from week to week
Carlos Hyde
probably going to be on the waiver wire
by the double digit weeks of your season
TJ Yeldon
probably going to be on the waiver wire
in the double digit weeks of your season
look there's a million different ways this could go
if Fournette is slow to recover
or if they just decide to limit him until the playoffs,
who knows what they could do.
You will see Hyde and Yeldon mix and match.
You'll probably see Yeldon get a lot more work this week and then that's it.
Yeah, that's what I've been saying.
I'm still starting Yeldon this week.
I can't imagine Carlos Hyde gets traded on a Friday, gets a ton of work on a Sunday.
I still think Yeldon – I'm desperate at running back.
It's obviously a downgrade, but at least right now
on Friday evening.
I can't imagine he doesn't out-touch
Carlos Hyde this week.
Agreed. I'd be very surprised
if that happened.
And I really felt like
when Fournette gets back, they'd give him the job back.
Because I don't know how good Carlos Hyde is.
They're scared of him getting hurt again. We've been hearing for so know how good Carlos Hyde is. They're scared of him getting hurt again.
We've been hearing for so long how good Carlos Hyde is.
Where's the proof, Dave?
Where is the proof?
I don't have any proof.
I don't have any pudding.
I like pudding.
I do too.
Solid.
Underrated dessert.
So you don't think that's the case?
You don't think Yeldon, or rather Fournette, it would be three more weeks?
I bet it's going to be.
I bet.
I don't know if there's a best-case scenario here that anybody's going to like.
Really, honestly.
Because you don't trade for Carlos Hyde unless you intend to use him.
You don't trade a fifth-round pick for a running back you plan on having as an insurance policy, do you?
Do teams do that?
I've never seen teams do that.
Well, that's a good question because let's say they planned on giving Fournette all the work after the bye,
and they plan on giving Yeldon the work this week.
That essentially means they would have traded a fifth-round pick for Carlos Hyde to use him for one game against the Eagles.
Exactly.
So my theory doesn't make a ton of sense unless this was just a depth thing and they're just trying to win a Super Bowl and going for it.
Well, if this is their definition of going for it, then they're certainly not of the belief that Leonard Fournette, not necessarily that he won't be a feature back,
but that we cannot assume he will be a feature back.
By definition of feature back, you mean?
18 or more touches a game, goal line work, you know, undisputed guy.
I don't think he's going to be that guy unless he gets a hot hand during a game,
which is possible because we've seen Leonard Fournette get pretty hot hands.
Hot feet is the case maybe.
And Carlos Hyde rarely gets hot anything.
Hot goal line work.
Okay.
So to me, this is a runaway locomotive crashing into a Jacksonville Jaguars running back building,
setting it ablaze, and making fantasy football owners cry across the world.
Who would you rather have rest of the season, Nick Chubb or Leonard Fournette?
Nick Chubb.
Yeah, I mean, you get a three-week head start.
That doesn't hurt.
At least.
Listen, I know this report says that they expect him back after the bye.
Who knows?
Who knows if he's really going to be healthy?
There are so many variables and uncertainties that I would almost rather not be involved with any Jacksonville Jaguars running back.
And I might not want to be involved with any Jacksonville Jaguars player.
The makeup of talent they have could help them have a good offense,
but predicting it at this point,
it's hard to say.
Fournette's the most talented.
Yeah, and now O'Shaughnessy's out with a hip injury,
so we don't even get him.
Nope.
I'm starting to wonder, already second-guessing
myself if I'm too low on
Nick Chubb.
You are.
Carlos Hyde isn't expected to play this week.
That's according to the same reporter that said Fournette will be back after week nine.
So, again, if you're trading a fifth-round pick and you're not even going to use him in week seven,
and then you have a game in week eight,
and then you're supposedly getting Leonard Fournette back after week nine,
you really just traded a fifth-round pick for some insurance for Fournette?
Yeah. I don't think so. That's pick for some insurance for Fournette? Yeah.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
All right, Dave.
Let's talk about some other stuff.
Well, Arizona fired Mike McCoy.
No surprise.
Byron Leff, which is the offensive coordinator.
That'll be fun.
Royce Freeman has a high ankle sprain.
No, it won't be fun because they have a terrible offense.
They have a terrible team with bad personnel.
Royce Freeman has a high ankle sprain. And they're at Kansas City next week.
And that high ankle sprain is usually a multi-week injury.
Dalvin Cook is out with a hamstring strain.
Latavius Murray or TJ Yeldon or Nick Chubb this week?
I'll go Murray over everybody we've talked about so far.
Ooh, over Chubb, eh?
Yes, over Chubb, eh. Yes, over Chubb, eh.
Okay.
So you must really like him.
He's, I think, 6,500 on the FanDuel,
and he had a great game against the terrible Cardinals defense last week.
The Jets' run defense is a lot more respectable, Dave Richard.
Doesn't matter.
He'll do fine.
And they're not that much more respectable.
Only three running backs have scored double-digit fantasy points in non-PPR against the Jets.
However, last two weeks, Lindsey averaged five yards per carry.
Mack averaged five yards per carry.
They both went over five yards per carry, actually.
What else we got?
We got Isaiah Crowell questionable.
We think he'll play?
We think he will play.
T.Y. Hilton will play?
I think you should start him.
And Jamison Crowder is out, and Paul Richardson is doubtful,
and Chris Thompson could be a game-time decision.
Could be.
So get excited about Josh Doxson and Maurice Harris.
Hooray.
Yeah.
You going to start him?
Busy week with the Saints wide receivers and the Browns running backs
and the Jags running backs and the Raiders running backs.
Busy week.

All right, Dave.
We'll go a little faster on the emails.
It's kind of rapid-fire emails.
From True, dear Brian, Carell, Dorsey, and Reno.
They all must have gone to the same.
No, they're all Eagles running backs.
They were all Eagles running backs.
They were all Eagles running backs at some point.
Brian Westbrook, Corral Buckhalter, Dorsey Levens, and Reno Mahe.
Reno Mahe, wow.
Okay, nice call.
I need to start five.
Two wide receivers, two running backs, and a flex.
Let's start with the running backs.
Two of these.
One of them was already Phillip Lindsay, so now we need either Camara or Kerryon Johnson it's going to be Alvin
but Kerryon Johnson
this should absolutely be the week
Theo Riddick has been ruled out
Clement is in there too Dave
who? Clement, Corey Clement
I'm good, Camara is who we're going with
Kerryon might be the flex here
who else does he have? Well two wide receivers
Boyd and Edelman
and Cooks and edelman and cooks
said edelman i think it's got to be cooks and boyd yeah the wide receiver so now it's the flex
between edelman clement and carry on yeah carry on okay okay he should be at least in the passing
downs role and should get a nice chunk of the rushing downs role so if he's getting 75 of the
lines running back snaps against Miami,
I'm starting him without hesitation.
This is from Aaron sitting in a parking lot in Maine.
Dear Tammy1, Tammy2, Ron, and Diane.
Pretty sure that's Parks and Rec.
Cam Newton or Andy Dalton?
I've got Dalton ranked higher.
There's a 10-point bonus for quarterbacks that pass for 300 or more yards.
Oh, yeah, then take the one playing against Kansas City. Yeah. That's Dalton. Dalton ranked higher. There's a 10-point bonus for quarterbacks that pass for 300 or more yards. Oh, yeah, then take the one playing against Kansas City.
Yeah.
That's Dalton.
Dalton it is.
From Mike in Pittsburgh.
Dear Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Quincy Anunua, sit one in PPR.
Sit one in PPR.
Michael Thomas, Tyreek Hill, T.Y. Hilton, Melvin Gordon, and Mark Ingram.
I'm sitting Ingram.
This is from Mike.
Dear some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Keith,
I solidified my running back bench for a while.
Which of these players have the most late season upside to add now?
This is an outdated question.
10-team non-PPR.
Chris Ivory, Nick Chubb, Deontay Foreman, Ronald Jones.
Let's throw out Chubb for you because Chubb is the obvious answer.
I think the best stash at this point is Foreman,
and you wait and see how he looks upon his arrival.
This is from Tom.
Dear Terry, Tommy, Bubby, and Ben.
Steelers quarterbacks.
Oh, wow.
I was going with Bowdens, but yes, you're right.
Terry Bradshaw, Tommy Maddox, Bubby Brister, Ben something.
Ben Bowden.
Pick two, half PPR.
Ingram, Breida, McCoy. Pick two.
I'm sitting McCoy.
Dan from Jersey City.
I heard you say that Tyler Boyd is a must-start, but here's my dilemma.
PPR. I have AJ Green and T.Y. Hilton.
I have Sonny Michelle, and I started David Johnson.
So who's my flex?
Tariq Cohen, Tyler Boyd, Matt Breida, DeeDee Westbrook, and Chris Godwin.
I'm going to go with Boyd over Tariq Cohen in the PPR flex spot.
Would you start Cohen over T.Y. Hilton?
In PPR? spot. Would you start Cohen over T.Y. Hilton? In PPR?
Mm-hmm.
I think I would.
Ooh, all right.
This is from Duncan from Victoria, British Columbia.
Dear Andre, Eric O'Shea, and Kim.
Those are original members of NWA.
I thought you might know that, Dave.
I did not know that. Oh Oh those are their actual names right
Andre Wright, Eric Wright
Oh O'Shea
What is Ice Cube's real last name
I'm blanking on it
But O'Shea is his first name
Is it really
I think it's Cube
O'Shea Cube
It's Jackson
I need your help
Over the years I've been unfairly given the reputation of being a snake in trades because I've come out on top a few times.
Yet more often than not, the history shows pretty even results.
It's made trading over the past two years almost impossible.
Everyone thinks that I'm up to something, know something they don't, or think that I'm trying to fleece them even when the stats don't back up that narrative. I feel like the only way people will start trading with me again is if I sorely lose on a few trades,
potentially changing my reputation as a winner of trades.
I feel like I'm stuck in a corner and no one's willing to play the trade game with me.
How do you suggest I rectify this perception amongst my fellow fantasy brethren?
Duncan, I had the exact same problem in all the leagues I played in that weren't cbs leagues uh buddies
from work buddies from college they all refused to make trades with me because i knew too much i'm
a little bit different than you they knew what my job was i don't know what your job is sunken but
i doubt it's a fantasy writer otherwise you wouldn't be writing to us uh i invented the trade
chart for this i assess values to players
and then I put the trade chart in front of people
and I said hey look here
here's this trade chart
it grades every player rest of season
gives them a value and you can do the math
for yourself and see that player A is worth 20
player B and C are worth 10 each
see it's a fair trade 20 and 20
and then when I did that they'd say
well you're just changing the trade chart so that the trade is in your favor.
But they're not going to say that to you, Duncan.
So share the trade chart with people and tell them, look at this chart.
This is done by somebody who's not in our league and find a deal that works with our players.
And if you've got to give a couple of points on the trade chart, go ahead and do it.
An epilogue to the story, and I mentioned that I made a trade in one of these leagues
earlier on
Friday's podcast, I should say. I traded
Carlos Hyde and Jarvis Landry
for Tyreek Hill.
At the time, the trade chart
way in favor of Hyde and
Landry, but now...
You knew something. You see? You did
know something, Snake.
I knew what I knew, which is that Carlos Hyde wasn't going to score a touchdown every week forever.
Yeah, because he's on Jacksonville.
And yeah, I'm kind of a snake.
This is from Alex in New York City's most populous borough.
Well, that's got to be Manhattan.
Probably.
What are you thinking, the Bronx?
No, it could be Queens.
Queens is huge.
You know how big Queens is?
It's huge.
Maybe it's more populous than Manhattan, but people per square mile,
Manhattan's got to have Queens beat.
Is that what populous means?
I don't know.
I think it just means highest population.
Definitely Manhattan.
Can we talk about football players?
14-team half PPR.
Choose one.
Latavius Murray, Ito Smith, Kiki Cutie, Buck Allen.
Latavius.
This is the dawning of the age of Latavius.
Age of Latavius.
All right.
This is from Eric.
PPR.
You're going to edit that out, right?
No.
Drake, Josh Gordon, Devin Funchess.
If you're choosing one, I'm going with Josh Gordon.
Max Upside.
No name on this one, but PPR, Tyler Boyd.
Carlos.
Okay.
Tyler Boyd or T.Y. Hilton.
I'm going Boyd.
Frank from Northern California.
Dear Rawlings, Spalding, Umbro, and Wilson.
Those are balls.
Watson or Mayfield?
So I've got Watson ranked higher.
I don't love it.
I wonder if this trade actually helps things out for Baker Mayfield
because now we know it's going to put Duke Johnson on the field a little bit more.
That means a little bit more passing.
Yeah, I might talk myself into Mayfield over Deshaun following this deal.
I'm going to have to think about that one.
Consult the rankings on Saturday.
Alex from Kansas.
Dynasty League, PPR.
Keep two out of three.
Interesting.
Barkley, Melvin Gordon, and Zech.
I think that's supposed to be Zeke.
He can't keep all three? He's probably going to have to trade one of them?
I'm going to trade Melvin Gordon.
Interesting. Okay.
Well, if we were doing a PPR Dynasty League startup draft,
who would go first overall?
To me, it's Barkley.
Who would go second overall? Gurley. Who would go third overall? To me, it's Barkley. Who would go second overall?
Gurley.
Who would go third overall?
Diggs.
What?
That's a good question.
It's either Zeke or Gordon, obviously.
It's Zeke.
Yeah.
Or Hopkins.
It's Zeke.
It's Zeke.
You know, I got to tell you, Dave, I've been nervous to invest.
I think it's kind of a scary world.
And I know –
You're telling me.
Look at the last week in the stock market.
Exactly.
And I know that when you invest, you got to pay commission.

Not a problem.
By the way, Calvin Ridley was limited in practice and Muhammad Sanu did not practice.
I have already bonanzaed them.
More emails.
This is from Rich in the snack food capital of the world.
About an hour from the sweetest place on earth.
It's got to be somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Right.
Sure.
Near Hershey.
Hey, Ted, Brian, John.
Ted, Brian, and John,
and that's it.
There have only been three.
Ted, Brian.
You got this one or what?
No, I don't.
Do you?
No.
I'm so interested.
Ted, Brian, and John, and that's it.
There have only been three.
All right.
Golden Tate is off the buy.
Do I sit Beckham, Hill, Woods, or Landry for Golden Tate?
I will start Tate over Jarvis Landry.
Ted, Brian, and John, there have only been three. Gotta think about that.
From Kevin. Hey, lazy, crazy,
busy, and wish. Oh, that's
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony? Yes, yes.
Yeah, I live near a place called Crote-N-Harmony
and I always call it
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. And everybody
laughs. I don't think
a single person is laughing with you
on that.
I traded T.Y. Hilton and Edelman for Leonard Fournette.
Like seriously, that might be the worst nickname for a city that any thinking human has ever thought of.
What if I just called it Bone Thugs?
Also bad, but not as bad as the other one.
Bone Thugs and Crote and Harmony?
I traded T.Y. Hilton and Edelman for Fournette.
Half PPR.
My condolences.
Yeah, it was a better trade before today.
I don't think it was that much better of a trade before today.
Here's a typo of the day.
No name on this one.
Dear Argon, Winston, Peter, and Ray.
Argon?
Yep, Argon, Winston, Peter, and Ray. Argon? Yep, Argon.
I just traded Tyler Lockett
for Dion Lewis. Grade the trade.
First of all,
isn't Argon on the
periodic table?
Isn't that a... AR, maybe?
Like a chemical? Well, I would think it would be
AR.
Let's see. Argon, chemical,
symbol. AR! AR! Correct. GoodR. Let's see. Argon chemical symbol. A-R.
A-R.
Correct.
Good job.
You nailed it.
Nerd.
Great to trade.
Lock it for Deion Lewis.
You're trading a bench running back for a fringish bench receiver.
Like, lock it.
You might actually feel good about starting a couple of times this year.
So if you got lock it, you did good.
This is from Jeff and the Omaha
Ketchup Packets.
I don't know what that means.
I don't know what any of these mean anymore.
The Le'Veon owner wants... You're a dad now.
You're behind the times.
You don't remember Ghostbusters like
Argonne? You're naming
towns after...
I don't know what. I think they're making ketchup
packets now.
Pretty soon you're going to be wearing jorts and yelling at your neighbors
because they're up too late and you've got a kid sleeping in here.
Jorts?
I would never wear jorts.
That's a Gators thing.
The Le'Veon owner wants a running back for me.
I have Hunt, Hines, Smallwood, and Collins.
Are any of these a fair trade for the gamble on Bell?
All except Hunt.
Yeah, geez.
Absolutely.
And goodness gracious, you might want to offer two of those scrubs.
Brian.
Don't you call Collins a scrub?
I would still trade Collins and Hines for Bell.
Collins and Smallwood for Le'Veon.
Brian from Parts Unknown.
Sit two.
Sit two.
Landry, Diggs, Tate, Yeldon, Hyde.
I guess it's easy now.
Sounds like Hyde's not going to play, so let's sit one.
And that would be...
Non-PPR.
Landry, Diggs, Tate, Yeldon.
Diggs for sure.
Tate for sure.
Yeldon or Landry.
Well, now that we know that Hyde's not going to play,
I think Yeldon is probably the better guy to go with here.
Dear Terry, Bobby, John, and Alex, they are Red Sox managers.
And I get it.
Alex Cora is dominating this postseason.
PPR League, sit one, Shepard, Sneed, or Curse?
You're definitely going to start Shepard, even with Evan Ingram coming back,
even with Eli Manning as his quarterback.
I believe I have Sneed ranked ahead of Curse.
Did you see we got tweeted by Snood?
Yes, I saw that.
What is Snood again?
Snood was when I was in high school, so this was probably around 2000.
I graduated in 2002.
The most popular computer game.
It's so fun.
Really fun game.
Some more emails here.
This is from Marty in Virginia.
I have Ebron as my starting tight end, but someone just dropped Jared Cook.
Should I drop Kenyon Drake to 10-team league to pick up Jared Cook?
Sure.
Okay.
This ultimately depends on that running back depth that you have.
If your running back depth isn't very good, then you can keep Kenyon Drake.
If you want to solve your tight end bye week problem with Ebron,
you just did by getting Jared Cook.
And listen, if Cook ends up bouncing back big,
you might have some kind of trade bait there.
Yeah.
Well, Drake I think is droppable in a 10-team league.
That's the bottom line.
Yeah.
All right.
This is from Marcelo.
Start two.
Ingram, Hilton, or carry on Johnson?
Hmm.
Non-PPR?
Don't know.
Well, you got to tell me.
I don't know.
This matters because if it's PPR.
So give him two answers.
All right, sit Ingram.
From Nick.
Excuse me.
You're not going to say. I'm going to say. I'm going to step up. I will sit carry on. All right, Sid Ingram from Nick. Excuse me. You're not going to say.
I'm going to say.
I'm going to step up.
I will sit carry on.
All right, fine.
Heath Sy, sit carry on.
Okay.
From Nick, start three, two running backs and a flex.
Let's do the running backs.
Carry on Johnson, Peyton Barber, Frank Gore, Marlon.
Oh, he goes start three, two running backs and a flex. He gives us nothing but running backs.
So sit one of these guys.
Carry on Peyton Barber, Frank Gore, Marlon Mack.
I'll sit Gore.
From Devin in Arkansas.
I started Emmanuel Sanders last night.
Should I start Kenny Galladay or Jarvis Landry?
Kenny.
From Glenn.
Did I win this trade?
I gave up Tariq Cohen and Marquise Goodwin in a standard scoring league.
Tariq Cohen and Marquise Goodwin for Kenyon Drake and Chris Godwin.
No, you lost.
Sorry, buddy.
From David in the largest city in Oregon.
Portland?
What is Juju's value if Bell plays for the Steelers?
Does it change at all?
Yeah, I think he'll lose a few targets.
I never thought about that.
That's an interesting...
We've talked about this before.
Part of the reason why Juju's getting all these short area targets
is because Le'Veon's not there.
Absolute correlation between the two.
He's getting a lot of short area targets?
He's kind of a big play guy.
Juju?
Yeah.
Yeah, look at his big plays.
How many of them are like 20-yard passes downfield?
I mean, I will say that James Conner is averaging just over four catches per game.
It's not like Le'Veon is going to replace a guy who's getting nothing in the passing game.
True.
And the four catches per game has really started to creep up over the last couple of weeks.
We've got an email from Brian in a city of Dave's Choice in West Central Florida.
Sarasota.
Dear Peyton, Johnny, Jim, and Andrew.
Finally one I know.
Colts quarterbacks.
Quarterbacks.
12-team PPR.
Pick two running backs.
Drake, Hyde, Clement, Mack.
Clement and Mack.
Obviously, you can see I put these notes together before the Hyde trade.
Pick one flex.
John Brown, T.Y. Hilton.
T.Y. Hilton.
Thank you, Brian.
This is from Eric.
Good morning, Jeff, John, and Akili.
Bengals quarterbacks?
Bengals quarterbacks.
I'm playing my brother this week, and he's undefeated, and I'm 5-1.
Nice.
I have Winston, but Dalton is available.
My brother has A.J. Green.
Do I play Dalton since he has Green?
No, I never do.
When did this start?
I hate it.
This is a question that we've been asked annually.
I don't like it.
I like setting my best possible lineup without consideration.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Just a few more here.
Mark in Cleveland.
I need to drop one running back from the following.
Gio Bernard.
I don't own Mixon.
Raheem Mostert.
Doug Martin.
I'm dropping Gio.
I don't think so.
I think the upside is too good if Mixon gets hurt.
So you're going to keep Doug Martin?
No, I'm going to drop Martin probably.
I'm going to go with the two running backs who are going to play sooner than Gio.
I don't care if they play.
If they suck, what do I care?
Yeah, okay, look. You've got to give them a they play. If they suck, what do I care? I mean, yeah.
Okay, look. You've got to give him a shot first.
If you have to play someone... I'll take the healthier running backs over
the not healthy running backs.
And I'd like to give Mostert a shot.
I just really don't like Doug Martin.
Alright, so then if you just
break out in hives
because Doug Martin's on your bench, cut him and
keep Gio. I've never broken out in hives.
Lucky you.
Do I drop Allison or Jordy Nelson for Traquan Smith?
Nah.
From Rusty, I got offered a trade in a PPR league.
I give Ingram and Calvin Ridley.
I get James Conner and DeeDee Westbrook for Ingram and Ridley.
I own Le'Veon Bell.
I like it if you're getting Conor and you own Bell.
From Thomas, please rank these guys in PPR.
John Brown, Calvin Ridley, Tariq Cohen.
Cohen 1, Brown 2, Ridley 3.
Kittle, Evan Ingram, O.J. Howard.
I believe I have it ranked as Kittle, Howard, and Ingram.
Just going to share some FanDuel thoughts with you.
Latavius Murray at $6,500.
Looks like a pretty good one.
I do think it's a little bit of a difficult week to find great running back value.
Not anymore.
Latavius Murray is in there.
Tariq Cohen is in there.
Nick Chubb is going to be in the free space.
Yeah, I got to get Chubb in there.
$4,800.
Yes, please.
And Corey Clement at $6,000, I like a lot.
If you happen to be a fan of Jarvis Landry and think that the matchup is too good to pass up.
I've got him.
He is one of the few players who is cheaper on FanDuel than on DraftKings.
Oh, Nick Chubb has to be in your lineup, and that means, damn it, Robert Woods.
Is he really so good that I need him?
Yeah, he's pretty good.
All right, well, I've got some money to play around with, but the guys I love are Nick Chubb,
Stefan Diggs, I've got Landry, David Njoku we already talked about.
I was able to get Todd Gurley as a flex.
Corey Clement, Nick Chubb, and Todd Gurley at running back.
Stefan Diggs, Jarvis Landry, and I need a third wide receiver.
I can afford just about all of them,
but I might drop down a little bit and spend more elsewhere.
And I used the Redskins DST because we talked about that,
but that's the one I might change.
I might get a DST that has more upside.
What about the Cowboys DST in that same game?
I don't know.
I think I might go with the Vikings DST.
I might go with the Vikings.
All right, let's throw the Vikings in there.
Good call. Dave, let's throw the Vikings in there. That's a good call.
And Dave, let's see which wide receiver I can afford.
Then I'll just give my lineup and you guys can have fun with it, whatever.
All right, I got $6,600 for a wide receiver.
That's usually pretty good.
That gives me Crabtree, John Brown.
I already have Landry, Allen Robinson, Chris Godwin, Devin Funches.
I hate this group.
I've got a lineup if you're interested.
This is about me, Dave.
Oh, I'm just going to – oh, I know what I can do.
Got to go.
Bye.
Yeah, you can say your lineup.
All right.
I have an undetermined lineup.
Anyway, I think I'm going to go with Robert Woods and the Redskins.
Oh, he left.
Oh, bye, Dave.
I was really going to let you give your lineup. I'm sorry to Dave Richard. I apologize. From Adam to Dave, na-na-na-na-na-na. Nah. And before I even look, my opponent grabs his back up off the waiver wire.
It's alright, I've got Le'Veon Bell.
If we lose, there's a flex, I know I'm in a mess.
Well, I better do my homework tonight.
Reading Jamie's starter sick, they say chart is legit.
Heath and Adam shared a team, it was a dumpster fire.
It's alright, I've got Le'Veon Bell.
It's alright, I've got Le'Veon.
It's alright, not George Le'Veon It's alright Not George Le'Veon
It's alright
I've got Le'Veon Bell
