Here we go!
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Let's go!
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
No stopping us on Labor Day weekend.
There's big news we've got to tell you about it.
I hope we're not, you know, inundating your feed with a bunch of episodes you don't want to hear. I hope instead we're
helping you out, get ready with some last minute draft prep. So I'm Adam Azer and he's Dave Richard.
Hey, Dave. What's going on, Adam? Happy Labor Day. Happy Labor Day weekend. You were putting the labor
in Labor Day this year. So Dave doesn't sound like he normally does because as I've mentioned,
all the guys had to travel from South Florida to get away from the hurricane. So Dave doesn't sound like he normally does because as I've mentioned, all the guys had to travel from South Florida to get away from the
hurricane.
So Dave is just on his laptop using the onboard mic there.
So we apologize when Dave types,
we can hear him type,
just letting him know.
We're just going to react.
That's okay.
We're going to react to the Sean McCoy.
And then I'm going to get your thoughts on what you,
what the listeners heard me and Ben talk about yesterday, the rest of the news.
But let's start with McCoy.
What does this mean for all three Chiefs running backs now?
Well, the first thing that I think of is did Damian Williams do anything to lose his grip on starting or being the lead back?
And I'll use the term lead loosely and i would answer
that question no i don't think leshawn mccoy was brought on to um take the job away from damian
williams i think damian has played he looked amazing on his touchdown catch in the preseason
and uh you know the hamstring injury slowed him down but he seems to be past that
i think that this is a case of andy reed getting to bring in a guy who he knows and who he trusts to add to his backfield. And I'm sure in
their mind, it's a huge upgrade over Carlos Hyde. In my mind, it's a big upgrade over Carlos Hyde.
I kind of stopped myself when I said big. It's an upgrade. It's an upgrade. And I think LeSean
McCoy is going to be there to allow Darwin Thompson to take his time,
keep Daryl Williams from hitting the field so much.
And this is going to be the one-two punch that the Chiefs' run game will have with Damian
and LaShawn McCoy.
And the thing about it that's going to stink for fantasy managers is that we know that
both Williams and McCoy can do the same things fairly well.
It's just that one of them is younger and seems more spry and probably won't come off the field limping every other week
only to go back in and struggle to get three yards per carry like the other one will.
Right, yeah, McCoy aging, banged up last year,
two straight years with a career low yards per carry.
So let's just get down to business.
When are you drafting Damian Williams, LeSean McCoy, Darwin Thompson?
So I'm still okay drafting Damian Williams as a number two fantasy running back,
not as a number one, which is where I had him before.
As much as I don't like Devontae Freeman, I've got to take Freeman ahead of Damian Williams.
I think
that they're both going to get right around the same amount of work. And I don't think there's
anybody that's going to take Freeman out of important high leverage plays like LeSean
McCoy might with Damian Williams. What about Josh Jacobs? I'll take Jacobs out of Damian Williams.
Damian Williams is 17th for me in non-ppr
and he's going to be right about the same in full ppr i think he's a top 20 running back still
but i don't think he's uh around two pick anymore i would probably look for him actually round four
is probably when i would feel best taking d-dubs aaron jones mark Ingram? I'll take Williams ahead of them.
But again, I am not a big Aaron Jones guy. And so a lot of
people will gravitate toward
Jones because he's that
A-plus back in Green
Bay. And
they'll just take him
ahead of him. It's not something I'm going to do.
I'm very worried about Aaron Jones.
The injury to Andrew, or the retirement of Andrew Luck has eliminated T.Y. Hilton and Mar I'm going to do. I'm very worried about Aaron Jones. The retirement of Andrew Luck
has eliminated T.Y. Hilton
and Marlon Mack from round three.
This news here has pushed Damian Williams
maybe to late round three. It just
makes me want an early pick
so much more, like an early
first and third round pick. Okay, so how about
LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson? When are you drafting them?
I think they're both
still going to be later on. Who do you like better? Oh, you've got to like LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson, when are you drafting them? I think they're both still going to be later on.
Who do you like better?
Oh, you've got to like LaShawn McCoy better.
And it pains me to say it because Darwin is just so much fun.
But he's now in that round 10 range Darwin is
because he's the one that's going to be impacted quite a bit by Shady showing up.
I have LaShawn McCoy as a top 100 player.
I believe I've got him at the end of
round eight in PPR and about the same thing in non-PPR. Okay. How about, would you rather have
Devin Singletary or LeSean McCoy? Oh, I'm taking Singletary. I don't know how the other guys feel
about Devin Singletary, but I'm excited. Okay. I'm really pumped about his chances now. We're
going to get really into this on our Monday episode with Dave, Jamie, and Heath,
so we'll have a nice debate there. Let me give you a few more LeSean McCoys,
and then we'll wrap things up. LeSean McCoy or Rashad Penny?
I've got shady over Penny because I'm just not sold on Penny being a very good running back.
Not that LeSean McCoy is, but he's in the better offense, I think, to be a running back in.
They're back to back.
Oh, they're back to back.
LeSean McCoy or Matt Breida?
I'll take Breida.
LeSean McCoy or Darius Geis?
I've got Geis ranked higher.
All right.
All right.
So it's in that range there, I guess,
for Dave. And finally, you want to give your thoughts on Duke Johnson, Devin Singletary,
Carlos Hyde, Frank Gore. Yeah, I'll be real quick. Singletary, I'm very excited about round six,
round seven as a number three fantasy back with plenty of upside. I'm not scared off by Frank
Gore or TJ Yeldon. I think the guy that was really going to
challenge him for touches was shady and he's gone. Carlos Hyde, I think the Texans are going to learn
what everybody else has seen about him, but they are going to insist on using multiple running
backs. They're not going to be comfortable with Duke being the only guy there. I didn't move Duke
Johnson down. I knew that they were going to bring in somebody else. So I kept him round six in PPR, round seven, eight in non.
And Carlos Hyde is maybe a double-digit round guy, I guess.
I'm not real excited to take him.
He might score four touchdowns this year.
Anybody, who else did you want to ask?
Well, how about, I said Frank Gore, but nobody's interested in him.
Do you like Devin Singletary?
Late, late, late round guy.
Devin Singletary or Duke Johnson?
Oh, Singletary. Oh, wow. Okay, Devin Singletary or Duke Johnson? Oh, Singletary.
Oh, wow.
Okay, Devin Singletary or Tevin Coleman?
Coleman.
Okay.
All right, more on the did you sink Will Fuller at all?
No, I'm not 100% sure that Kenny Stills wasn't a guy that the Texans
or that the Dolphins insisted was part of the deal like you want
Laramie Tunsell you got to pay a lot for him and you've got to take this wide receiver that talk
trash about our owner you got to take him too so maybe there's an opportunity for for Stills maybe
Stills works in the slot and he's a slot weapon in that offense and that gives them the chance to
rescue QT so you could speculate with Stills on a late-round pick,
but I don't think he's going to—he's definitely not going to challenge Hopkins,
and he's probably going to be the guy that would replace Fuller in the games that Fuller misses.
All right, I spoke to a columnist for the Houston Chronicle last night on the radio show, Brian T. Smith.
I asked him, is Will Fuller still going to be the second-best receiver on this team?
And he said, if he's healthy, not even a question. So I'll talk about more of that on Monday's show.
Thanks to Dave for hopping on. Thanks to all of you. Again, I'm not trying to, you know,
annoy you with a whole bunch of episodes over the weekend. I think this is our ninth episode
of the week, but I hope this is really helpful as you prepare for your drafts.
And we'll talk to you on Monday morning. Good luck in your drafts, everybody.
