Starting point is 00:00:00 Catching you up on the offseason storylines in the NFC right now on Fantasy Football Today Express. Welcome, everybody. Jamie, hello. Hello. You know, we got rid of that crappy AFC the other day. Finally, we're on to the NFC. That's what everybody's in the mood for here. All the Giants all the time.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Yeah, all the giants all the time. And they truly had one of the more interesting off seasons of any team in the NFC. But if we look at the NFC, East, Dallas, Giants, Eagles, and commanders, what do the people need to know what stands out to you? I think for the most part, the giants are the story, except for maybe if you look at the Eagles with losing A.J. Brown and what's going to happen there. So Brown gets traded to New England. They draft Mackay Lemon. Ken Devante Smith assume the responsibilities and more importantly the production of being the number one guy there. How does Dollars Goddard fit into
Starting point is 00:00:59 this after coming off in 11 touchdown season? Is Lemon worth drafting in the first 100 picks. I think the Eagles offense is going to be fun to watch in training camp, and hopefully we get a better version of Jalen Hertz. Who's seen his fantasy points per game decline each of the last four seasons, which is not what you want to see from a guy that has his upside and potential. Also, two new offensive coordinators in the division as well as a new head coach. So you have new head office coordinator in Washington.
Starting point is 00:01:29 So I hope we get a great version of Jane Daniels, really, I think of just day and Daniels, he's healthy. That's important. But we'll see if they add another pass catcher. Chico could be a sleeper, tight end, as we just discussed on tight end tears. And in Philadelphia, new offense coordinator as well. For the Giants, it's really, we're just waiting to see what happens with Malik neighbors at this point. Can he stay healthy? Got great news on Cam Scadaboo, but neighbors coming up the ACL tear, it's kind of been all over the place. Latest report is we hope to get him healthy for training camp.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I do not expect to see him in week one. I think we have seven players on the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants being drafted before the first commander. Seven players on the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants before the first commander. I guess it depends on two QB leagues. That wouldn't be the case. But yeah, Terry McCoran is going to be the first commander drafted. And I would suspect if nobody else has added, he could get into round four. I think it might be six.
Starting point is 00:02:29 because actually he's going just ahead of Scataboo. So it's one giant, two eagles, and three cowboys. All right, let's go to the... And he'll probably get drafted ahead of neighbors, and neighbors is unpublished. Yeah, I could see Scataboo getting ahead of McLaurin, though. It's close. Let's go to the North Division.
Starting point is 00:02:45 We're super excited about this division. And maybe Kyler Murray gets the Vikings back on track. We could have four... I think we should have at least three great offenses, maybe four in the NFC North. What do people need to know? I mean, the Vikings, you know, the biggest change because of the quarterback there. So if Kyler Murray is right and was a very successful fantasy quarterback to open his career,
Starting point is 00:03:09 then had the ACL tear and then it struggled the last couple of seasons. But every quarterback that Kevin O'Connell has worked with, aside from J.J. McCarthy, has helped this offense be productive, even Carson Wentz last year. So if Kyler Murray can excel in this offense, that's great for Justin Jefferson, great for Jordan Addison, hopefully good for Joanne Jennings and T.J. Hawkinson. And then we have to see what happens at the running back position where we've gotten a couple reports about Jordan Mason being the lead guy this year ahead of Aaron Jones. For Detroit, it's just a new coordinator. And what does that mean for Sam Laporta? Because Drew Petzing comes from Arizona, comes from the Kevin Stefansky tree. Tides have been very prominent. You have a Monter on St. Brown. You have James and Williams. You have Jamir Gibbs. Remember they lose David Montgomery. We like Gibbs as the number one overall player, number one running back. But if Petzing, offense is great for Leporta, Loporta could push to be a top five tight end. The Packers lose two wide receivers in Romeo Dobbs and Nantavian Wicks.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Do not replace them with anybody, but they're hoping to get Tucker Kraft back for week one after dealing with the ACL tear last year. Christian Watson's in a great spot. I think there's going to be opportunities for Jaden Reed and Matthew Golden to great late-round picks or end of the mid-round group of wide receivers. But Christian Watson could be a breakout candidate. Tucker Kraft could be a top three tight end. He was number two in points per game last year.
Starting point is 00:04:27 before suffering his knee injury. And then the Bears, they lose DJ more. We love everything about Chicago. Love Caleb Williams. ADP is higher than we are, but top 10 quarterback, the receivers are going to be awesome. Probably somebody will let you down,
Starting point is 00:04:44 but at least going into the year, Colston Lovell and finished last year strong, everybody loves Luther Burden as a breakout. And if you recall what Romo Dunzee did at the start of the season before his foot injury, he was on pace for a breakout season. So there's a lot just to like about Chicago's. offense passing game wise and then dandre swift still a very good running back question for
Starting point is 00:05:02 minnesota just for you to think about out there is there a team in the nfc that has a bigger gap between the first player drafted and the second player drafted on that team it's about 90 picks between justin jefferson and jordan addison one very obvious one and the nfc oh in the nfc tawkins right is that where you were going yeah yeah and the nfc i think it might be the vikings moving to the NFC South in just a moment. We'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today Express. The NFC South, Falcons, Panthers, Saints, and Buccaneers. What's the biggest off-season storyline here?
Starting point is 00:05:40 Falcons, new coach, and hopefully get still great production, and new quarterback into a talk about it, hopefully get great production out of their guys because you're talking about three players, two in particular, and Bison Robinson and Drake London that are going to be drafted in the first two rounds. And Kyle Pitts, coming off the best year of his career, can he be a top five tight end? He's going to get drafted as a top 10 guy. So a lot of expectations for Kevin Stepansky into a tongue of a low to keep these guys extremely relevant as fantasy options.
Starting point is 00:06:10 The rest of the division, Carolina, we're looking to see about the backfield there. I think Terrell McMillan, whether you love him, like him, or avoid him, he's still going to be probably drafted in round four as a mid-tier number two wide receiver. But really, it's the backfield and we're going to keep an eye on Jonathan Brooks. They let Rico Dowdle go. They did not bring in anybody of sniffing it for competition. So Chuba Hubbard, Jonathan Brooks, if Brooks is healthy, he's going to fly up draft boards.
Starting point is 00:06:36 But Chuba Hubbard, I still think, is the one you want to target first. In the case of the Saints, two rookies were added that are going to be important here. One, Jordan Tyson, we know, could be a huge factor and may steal a lot of opportunities from Crystal Lave. But let's not forget about Oscar Delp. He can impact Joanne Johnson, who was a very good fantasy tight end last year. but Tyson, Olave, the addition of Travis E. Tyler Shuck was great last season at the end of the year and could be a good late round quarterback if you miss on the position.
Starting point is 00:07:06 And then in the case of Tampa Bay, I think a lot of it comes down to health. If Baker Mayfield's healthy, you're not going to get the 2024 production, but should be better than 2025. A Mecca, Buka now becomes the number one receiver. Chris Godwin, still in the mix to be the number one receiver. A lot of questions about the health of the offensive line.
Starting point is 00:07:23 if everybody's working well together, you're going to have a breakout star in a Mecca, and I think a very good value pick in Chris Godwin at quarterback, at receiver, excuse me, and then we'll see what happens with the backfield there after adding Kenneth Gainwell, who could be really good as a pass catcher for Zach Robinson. And finally, the NFC West,
Starting point is 00:07:43 where the Cardinals have already been eliminated from the playoffs. Look at these teams, the Rams, the Niners, the Seahawks, it's just brutal, you feel bad for Arizona in rebuild mode, but they obviously are a huge off-season story with the addition of Jeremiah Love and to a lesser extent Carson Beck. The Rams are, they didn't really add much offensively, but man, their defense is nasty. 49ers getting Mike Evans and the Seahawks losing their offensive coordinator
Starting point is 00:08:14 could be a big deal. But what stands out to you in the West? Well, you mentioned Jeremiah Love. They also added Tyler Algier. And, you know, Healthy Marvin Harrison, new head coach. in Mike LaFleur. A lot of this is going to potentially change the way the Cardinals look. Now, you're still drafted in Chan McBride as a top two tight end.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I like Bauer's better than McBride because of all the target competition he's going to get that he didn't necessarily have last year because Harrison missed the second half of the season and most of the second half of the season and the run game will be better. We'll see how many games Jacoby Bressett starts. That's a big part of this too because their offense really didn't take off until Berset became the starter there. So we'll see if Beck does get those opportunities. Seattle, the big stories of the backfield. They add Dary and Price in the first round. Zach Charbonnet coming off the ACL tear that he suffered in the division round.
Starting point is 00:08:57 We know Kenneth Walker is now gone. So that backfield is going to be interesting to watch. They also had Emmanuel Wilson who could be a factor. George O'Lonni is going to be a factor. We would love to see Daring Price first round rookie get that opportunity to be the starter from week one, but I don't want to overvalue him just because he was selected in the first round. But a lot of vacated touch over 500 or 400 total touches gone if Charbonnet does not play with Walker and Charbonnet injured.
Starting point is 00:09:22 San Francisco is not just Mike Evans. It's Deshaun's dribbling. It's Christian Kirk. It's George Kittle coming off in Achilles' injury. It's Christian McCaffrey, 30 years old, coming off 450 total touches. There's a lot of things to keep an eye on with San Francisco. That's going to be a fun one to watch.
Starting point is 00:09:37 And we know the potential of Kyle Shanahan's offense. Purdy was a top five quarterback last year in points per game, but he missed a lot of time with toe and ankle injuries, I believe it was, definitely a toe. And then we'll see if, you know, kiddell's healthy coming off the Achilles' tear. and you said at the Rams is just kind of offense, does it get hurt by how good the defense is?
Starting point is 00:09:56 Because they add Miles Garrett, they had Trent McDuffie. Do they have to score as much to sort of overcome any defensive deficiencies that they had last year, which there weren't many? But now you added two elite players at their positions, one of the best ever in Miles Garrett. And it could just be,
Starting point is 00:10:15 and maybe Aaron Donald's coming here. Exactly. It could just be an absolute beast. of a team, a lot of people penciling in the Rams to be the Super Bowl representative of the NFC in their own stadium. Thank you, Jamie. Excellent stuff on the NFC. We will talk to you next time on Fantasy Football Today Express.
Starting point is 00:10:36 See ya.
