Let's beat the waiver wire, get ahead of the game for week nine right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
Okay, Dave, express yourself and tell me who are we picking up right now?
Let's start and mention that in week nine, the Steelers and 49ers are on bye.
So there are going to be players and DSTs that you're going to need to replace.
By doing it now, you're saving yourself time and you're going to need to replace by doing it.
Now you're saving yourself time and you're getting a leg up on the rest of the competition in your league.
Congratulations for doing so in advance.
Quarterbacks, Adam, start with the quarterbacks.
Do whatever you want.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let's start with the quarterbacks.
Aaron Rodgers has the Patriots this week and then Houston in week nine and then two games after that that aren't so bad if he were to get on the
same page with Devante Adams I think he can do that and then maybe also stay on the same page
with Garrett Wilson maybe he could be a decent fantasy quarterback with a chance to have some
really good numbers so he would be my favorite guy and he and every other player that we're
going to talk about are rostered in under 65 percent of CBS leagues so he's somebody that
you can go and get.
Russell Wilson, you could start this week.
Bo Nix, you could start this week.
This is if you're desperate at quarterback.
But if we're stashing for week nine, Derek Carr could be back.
He plays at Carolina.
Could be one of those games like we saw from him earlier in the year where he doesn't throw a lot, but he puts up huge numbers.
Drake May is at Tennessee.
If they don't have a luxurious need back, or even if they do,
Drake May has played pretty impressively, I't have a luxurious need back, or even if they do, Drake May's played pretty
impressively, I'd say the last six
quarters of his life. Marcus Mariota,
if there's no Jane Daniels, obviously
if you're watching this and Jane Daniels is
playing on Sunday, forget I'm even saying
it. Use the thing from Men in Black.
But Marcus Mariota plays
at the Giants in Week 9 if he's the starter.
He's not bad. And of course, Matthew Stafford
is somebody that you're going to want to add after his big game he already played in week eight we
can't add him now yeah running backs oh Knicks at Baltimore I don't want Bo Nix against Baltimore
call me crazy okay I don't really like Bo Nix against Carolina to be honest with you okay
running backs stink uh the the running backs that are available under 65% of leagues on CBS
so you could use this week, I found Justice Hill to be the best one.
Obviously, that changes if Bucky Irving doesn't play for Tampa
because then Sean Tucker could be the running back that works with Rashad White.
So you could stash Sean Tucker now, and then it's up to you
whether or not you want to let him go.
I like that talent.
I just don't know if I can carry him on my bench for very long.
He's the most stash worthy running back that's out there along with Tajay Spears,
Roshan Johnson, maybe for this week, if you're desperate at running back,
Jaleel McLaughlin, and then other names like Trey Benson, Jalen Wright, Kamani Vidal.
Receiver is where it's at, Adam.
And you've been on Rashad Bateman more than
anybody else on our show so kudos to you you should add Rashad Bateman anyway but if there's
no Zay Flowers holy crap against Cleveland I could see him having a very good game he's already like
a decent floor PPR wide receiver he could be so much more than that if one of those targets for lamar isn't even on
the field yeah i i'd rather stash demario douglas now i'd rather play bateman if zay flowers were
out correct yes talking about beating the waiver wire and stashing demario douglas is 46 percent
rostered now so don't penalize him for being sick last week and still think there's a potential for
him to be the lead receiver for Drake may and be a fairly,
a better version of Wanda Robinson.
I think he's the best wide receiver on the Patriots.
Uh,
other wide receivers that you could use this week.
You can find them on your waiver wire,
Dontavian Wicks,
Jalen Tolbert,
Cedric Tillman.
This list gets depressing quick.
Jake Bobo.
If there's no DK Metcalf,
Alan Lazard and Alec Pierce.
And then obviously those names are all very stash-worthy,
but in the event that you want to just stash and see what happens,
this is more for the deep leaguers out there.
Adam Thielen, Nick Westbrook-Akene, that's three names,
Troy Franklin, Romo Dunze, Sterling Shepard in PPR leagues.
What if he's the replacement for Chris Godwin?
That might be somebody I'd want to have on my bench. His teammate, Trey Palmer should play a lot. Brandon cooks is going to be off the IR
soon. And Quentin Johnston, kind of a favorite of mine. If you've got the roster space, you could
carry Quentin Johnston. Are you ready for tight ends? Oh yeah. Hunter Henry is still available
in about half of CBS sports leagues, maybe 40% of CBS Sports Leagues.
He's a must-add.
And you know that he's got the Jets matchup this week,
should see a lot of targets and put up some good numbers there.
Noah Fant is the only other tight end that is startable,
except for Taysom Hill.
If Taysom Hill is out there, maybe he gets a little bit involved.
Maybe he steals a touchdown from our boy Alvin,
and he could be somebody that you could use this week.
But I'd rather use Taysom next week when he's against Carolina.
So he's a guy that you can grab and stash as a possible bi-week replacement
if you've got George Kittle, if you've got Pratt Fryermuth.
Why have you been using Pratt Fryermuth as your starter?
I don't know.
But if that's the case, then Taysom Hill is somebody that you can go
and get and use next week but stash him this week. Goes without saying that if TJ Hawkinson is somehow out there on your waiver wire, get him, put him. Oh, you can't. He already played. Never mind. You should have already done that. So that's bad advice. Jatamion Sanders is the only other tight end that's even worth a darn to stash. And we know what his quarterback situation is. So tight ends a little bit depressing. Running little bit depressing wide receiver is cool dst is pretty cool adam who do you think my
favorite dst to stash is oh let's see who the giants playing commanders they are not my favorite
in fact the commanders are my fourth favorite did you say the saints not the saints the saints are
so bad the saints are number one
yeah they're so bad i can't even i i know they've been bad they're gonna get their top tackling
linebacker back in pete warner say that 10 times fast but he warner will be back this week i think
he might make a difference i am willing to stash the saints dst see how they look in their matchup
this week i'm not expecting big things from them.
I don't want to use them this week, but they play at Carolina.
And if that Panthers offense looks dreadful,
I will probably not have much reservation about using the Saints DST in week nine.
Bengals play the Raiders.
I wouldn't mind using them.
The Patriots play the Titans.
I wouldn't mind using them.
But those are four DSTs, four that you can go and grab right now and use to replace the Steelers
or the 49ers.
Everybody's been using those DSTs.
Highly recommend one of those.
And I don't mind starting with the Saints.
And if they look like total crapola, then I can move on to one of the other ones.
But if you need a DST this week, Packers are still out there.
Eagles are still out there.
I don't love either one of them, but they will get you some numbers.
I think the Packers defense is better than their numbers have shown.
We're going to take a quick break.
And when we come back, we'll answer your questions on FFT Express.
Did you know that across Ontario, utility damage happens 19 times a day?
That's over 4,222 incidents a year.
Don't let your next dig be one that causes costly delays or
safety risks. Before you break ground, make it a point to request a locate. It's not just the law.
It's a step to keep your team and community safe. Visit OntarioOneCall.ca and avoid unnecessary
damages to get the job done right. Data sourced from the ORCGA 2023 Dirt Report.
Okay, we are back.
Some tight end questions.
McBride or Ingram?
I believe I have Evan Ingram ranked higher.
If I could say his name properly,
that's who I would say.
Tucker Craft or McBride?
I'll go McBride there in PPR,
but Craft in none.
Uncle Ted says,
Bateman could be a league winner.
And then rinkside rips says Bateman isn't that good.
I think we should have them fight.
I agree.
Let's get you guys together and we will, uh, we'll make like that.
Maybe just a thumb war, not a full on fight.
Bateman hasn't been that good, but I think you should just one more time, Adam, tell
people what you saw from him.
Yeah. I said it on the show yesterday with Jamie and Heath. I mean, I watched his receptions. that good. But I think you should just one more time, Adam, tell people what you saw from him.
Yeah. I said it on the show yesterday with Jamie and Heath. I mean, I watched his receptions.
Sometimes I watch the guy's routes. Sometimes I watch his targets. Sometimes I just watch his catches. Depends how much time I have. He is destroying people. He is really fast. He runs
good routes. He gets open deep downfield. And I, you know, that might be because, you know,
everybody's worried about Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and all that, whatever the reason is.
I mentioned that ESPN analytics, I think they have them fifth with their open metric,
fifth highest open metric. Um, and then he does stuff after the catch too. And I reminded everyone,
this was one of the most hyped players in the off season. We just kept hearing Bateman's going to
have a big year Bateman, this Bateman, that, uh, it's not going to be a consistent thing, but I said, you should roster
him over Jamison Williams. You should roster him over Christian Watson. These are low target,
big play guys. I'd rather take the guys on the Ravens offense. And of course, say flowers is
hurt. So we are, we are encouraged by what we're seeing from Rashad Bateman. So absolutely one of
those guys that you could stash, whether you need them or not, just to see what happens, who knows,
maybe he ends up being a piece in a trade you make a week from now
to help you acquire a really good player.
There's one last thing before we get out of here.
You had a hard time with the game of the week on the main show on Friday.
Did you not?
I canceled it.
You canceled it for a week.
I'm going to uncancel it.
All right.
I've got the game of the week for you.
The game of the week, yeah.
Seminoles and the hurricane.
Yeah.
Maybe the Noles will put up a fight.
But it's all about the U, yeah.
Yeah.
Yes, Dave.
Well done, sir.
All right.
Let's crush those crappy Seminoles.
And have a wonderful weekend, everybody.
We will talk to you on Sunday on Fantasy Football Today and Fantasy Football Today Express.
