Fantasy football today, Express.
We're talking coaching, hiring and firings and more.
Welcome to FFT Express.
We've got some head coaching vacancies filled.
We have some offensive coordinator vacancies,
but we do have a lot more left to be determined throughout this off season.
Adam Azenberg here.
And the big news, I guess, you know, Harbaugh of the Giant.
Let's just go one by one.
Harbaugh of the Giants.
Do we have a fantasy impact yet?
I don't think so.
I mean, you know, obviously if there was going to be a terrible head coach there,
we would have been concerned about Jackson Dart and Cam Scataboo and Malik Neighbors, etc.
I think everybody was excited about drafting these guys the way Dart performed in his rookie campaign.
You know what Malik Neighbors is capable of.
He's healthy and Scatabu when he was the lead running back, those six games over 19 ppr points per game.
So, you know, really it comes down to is everything going to be still status quo, mostly from a health standpoint.
So I think Dart's got a top 10, maybe borderline top five quarterback profile.
Malik neighbors borderline first round pick.
Scataboo could go as early as round three.
So I think those three guys are kind of locked in.
So Harbaugh just, I think, enhances it.
Todd Monkin enhances those guys and what they're capable of doing.
Todd Monkin's not official yet, but it's expected, I guess,
that he'll be the offensive coordinator.
Kevin Stefansky to Atlanta.
You like this?
I do.
You know, I think you get an offensive-minded coach there.
I know Zach Robinson, we had some hope because he was coming from the RAM system
when they hired Rahim Morris.
really comes down to can Michael Pennix take a step forward.
Drake London, I think, has been awesome with Pennix.
It was still really good, you know, the year with Kirk Cousins.
But obviously, Drake London could be a top five fantasy-wide receiver,
certainly going to be drafted as a top 10 guy.
If Kyle Pitts stays, I think really that's the biggest thing for what this offense could look like.
And Bison Robinson, I think, will do very well with Stefanski,
because we know the run game under Stafansky when Nick Chubb was healthy,
what we saw in flashes from Quinshot Judkins and a terrible.
environment.
You know, Bijan to me is either one or two, depending on what happens with Detroit in terms
of their offensive coordinate, their offensive personnel, you know, mostly from a David
Montgomery standpoint.
So I think both those guys, Bejan Gibbs, top two guys, but in the case of, you know,
Bijan being there with Stephansky, it's a good thing.
Okay.
And Stefansky, yeah, it's great with tight ends.
In 2020, Cleveland tight ends had nine touchdowns.
They only threw 27 touchdowns for the year.
2021. They had 10 touchdowns.
And Cleveland quarterbacks through 21 touchdowns.
And 10 of them went to tight ends.
22, David DiJoku had really didn't do that much.
In 2020, though, he had a great year.
882 yards, six touchdowns.
2024.
Cleveland tight ends had eight touchdowns.
2025.
Cleveland tight ends had 10 touchdowns.
Great track record there.
All right.
Other coaching news, we had a couple of defensive coaches being hired.
Jeff Halfley to Miami.
Robert Sala to Tennessee.
Offensive coordinators,
Drew Petsing to Detroit.
So it goes from Arizona to Detroit
and Mike McDaniel to the Chargers.
Which one do you like better, Jamie?
McDaniel to the Chargers and repression to the Lions.
Obviously McDaniel.
You know, it's going to be fun.
I think we have a creative play caller
with a great set of skill players
and how much will Jim Harbaugh
allow McDaniel to sort of run the show to the level of what McDaniel has done in Miami because in San Francisco, when he was part of the offensive staff, he was just, you know, helping.
Now we saw what he was capable of doing with the dolphins.
And it was great.
You know, I mean, when you look at some of the things, how it took place, Tuaua one year under Mike McDaniel led the NFL in passing yards.
And we could think we'd all agree that Justin Nervants a much better quarterback and certainly much better passer than Tua.
The run game in Miami was special.
Rahim Moster led the NFL in rushing touchdowns one season.
Devon A. Chan was a fantasy superstar once he got healthy and became the future guy,
certainly in the passing game.
So it's great for Marian Hampton.
Tyree Kill was amazing.
They don't have that type of player, but it has to get you excited about Ladd-McConkie.
And then at times what we've seen with the tight ends in terms of John News Smith,
one season, a little bit of Darren Waller this past season.
Everything sort of can just fall in line for some great production here.
I moved Herbert up.
He wasn't in my top 12.
I obviously replaced him with Brock Purdy once the Kittle News happened.
And then just put him, I think I have him as high as six or seven in terms of Herbert.
Hampton is borderline first round pick.
I know he's a first round pick for you.
McConkey, not in the top 12, but certainly a top 15 wide receiver once again.
And Gassens is the top 12 tight end as we just talked about.
So lots of love about the charter situation.
For the Lions, I think a lot of people looked at the higher and said, oh, this is very uninspiring.
And I get it because he didn't do a lot of great.
great things in Arizona. But when you take a step back and look at it, pocket passer in Jacoby
Percept, what did he do? Had that string, I think it was 9 of 10, 10 of 11, 20 plus point games.
Jared Goff's obviously a better quarterback than Jacoby Reset. You look at what he did with Michael
Wilson when he had one guy and you look at what he did with Marvin Harrison when he was healthy,
those receivers played great at times. Wilson obviously a little bit better than Harrison.
And then you know what Trade McBride did, so you got to be excited about Sam LaPorte.
And I don't think anything is going to ruin Jamir Gibbs. And if you even take a, you know,
broad picture view of the running game there for the Cardinals just this past season.
It was almost on a weekly basis where somebody was doing something.
It wasn't consistent from one player, but it was somebody doing something.
Michael Carter, you know, the,
Mari Di Mercado, you know, like there was just a guy stepping up almost on a week-to-week basis.
Jamir Gibbs is a stud.
So I think it's fine for the Lions guys.
I'm not going to panic.
Okay.
I think what's funny about the Dolphins and Chargers with Mike McDaniel, the dolphins have
sort of been the fans anyway, have been haunted by Miami taking to a tongue of Iloa
5th and Justin Herbert went 6th.
And they've been compared ever since.
And it's just been something that has killed the Dolphins fans.
And now McDaniel's going to go to the Chargers and work with Justin Herbert.
It's poetic and painful for Miami fans.
All right, we're going to take a break and talk about some vacancies and who we want to see hired.
And we'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today Express.
So the openings right now, Arizona, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cleveland, Las Vegas.
and Pittsburgh, Arizona, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh.
Anyone you want to see any dream scenarios for you?
Dream scenarios.
It's a good question.
I think all the guys that are on the, unless I'm missing somebody, the big names are all defensive guys.
Dable.
I think Dable goes to Buffalo.
I'm sorry.
I'm kind of viewing that like Josh Allen is making this higher as much as anybody in Buffalo.
So Daibel, when he was fired from the Giants, I think a lot of people sort of said,
okay, McDermott doesn't make a big playoff run.
Maybe that's a reunion that happens because a lot of Josh Allen's big success came with,
not the MVP season, but a lot of his big success came with Daibel and they have a very good relationship.
So I think that makes some sense.
You know, it'll keep Josh Allen at a level that we like.
Hopefully they can, you know, find a receiver.
And we just got finished talking about Dalton KKKD.
I think KKD will be good no matter who the head coach is there.
if there's no receiving upgrade.
But really, then it'll come down to is, you know, can, like, you'd love to see Chris Shula get a job
and bring somebody from the Rams offensive staff with him.
You know, hopefully that would be a good marriage of whoever, you know, hires him.
I think if Flores goes to, I know, he just interviewed in Pittsburgh, you know,
if he brings somebody, maybe Kevin O'Connell staff offensively, that would be fun also.
You know, so some of these teams that we're talking about, you know,
he just mentioned on the full-length episode we did on Wednesday about the quarter
quarterback openings and how many there are.
Some of the teams are talking about here don't have quarterback.
So we don't know if Brissette will be the quarterback in Arizona.
We don't know who the quarterback will be in Pittsburgh.
So there's still a lot of things that have to be determined in terms of what the right marriage will be.
Absolutely.
Okay.
Well, that's it for Fantasy Football Today Express.
We'll have more coaching news throughout the offseason and we'll react to it.
Thanks so much for watching and listening.
We'll talk to you that.
