an early look at the waiver wire as the buy weeks are here for week five right now on FFT Express.
Oh boy, Jamie. We got to fill in some blanks. We got the buys coming. And who are the players when you talk about? So give me the headliner for the waiver wire.
The headliner would be Woody Marks coming off the game that he just had against the Titans. Hopefully he's going to be the lead running back for the Texans for the rest of the season.
but I still assume Nick Chubb will get some work.
It's not like Chubb was completely awful against Titans,
so just keep that in mind that it might have a lot to do with who the Texans were playing.
But clearly this is now two weeks in the making of Woody Marks getting work
and a spark to their offense and great matchup coming up against Baltimore in week number five.
So Marks would be the number one guy to get.
Number two for me, I'm going to put Darius Slate in there just because of the bump that he should get
with Malik neighbors now out for the season with the torn ACL.
So hopefully what we've seen from him in the past,
When there's been a guy missing, he stepped up and has gotten an opportunity to play well in Brian Dable's offense.
And unfortunately, he's not going to be like neighbors, and we wish neighbors was out on the field.
But Jackson Dart will, I assume, lean on him quite a bit.
Same with Wondell Robinson, but clearly there's more upside for Darius Layton.
So he would be number two.
Number three, let's see.
Keeping in mind that we still have two games to go with Monday night.
So in the event an injury occurs, there could be somebody that steps up in the third spot.
But for right now, number three for me will be Kenneth game.
well, just with the game that he just had against the Vikings,
the potential of Jalen Warren maybe missing more time coming off the bye week.
They are in a buying week five,
but I would assume that he's going to get more work moving forward
after what he just did with over 30 PPR points.
He was absolutely fantastic stepping in for Jalen Moran against the Minnesota Vikings.
I guess there's not really a waiver wire play unless you think Harold Fanon or Isaiah Bond
or something like that would step up,
but we are seeing now that Cedric Tillman is going to miss weeks with his.
hamstring injury anything for cleveland i would say isaiah bond you know i'm so just full
disclosure i'm going to give you lists of wide receivers and tight ends which i'm currently writing
i've already written the running backs and quarterbacks so i have a little bit more knowledge of
those two positions uh but in terms of the wide receivers isaiah bond right now is number
uh four five for me in terms of the wide receiver priority list so it's darius slayton one
romeo dobbs two jalen cocker three i o manor four and isaiah bond five
okay so then we'll in the joke at this point like i don't know what what we what we can expect i know
it's it's really stinks uh by the way so it's atlanta chicago green bay and pittsburgh on a bye
next week atlanta chicago green bay and pittsburgh on by just a really awkward situation
with kenneth gainwell it's like hmm did he just usurp jalen warren we'll find out i think
we're thinking no but we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to find out it is worth noting i
didn't mention this yesterday.
Jalen Warren had a career high and carries in week three.
And he got a knee injury.
Yes.
He's just never been a guy that could handle that I wouldn't say that he has never been a guy
that could handle, but that's never been given a full workload, really.
Let's talk about quarterbacks then, since you've already written that.
Who are the quarterbacks to get?
So right now it's kind of pending with an asterisk, but to a ton of our low, it would be number
one against the Carolina Panthers in week five.
We'll see what he does against the Jets.
on Monday night, but anticipating him doing well, just to give him the matchup.
And I think just hopefully building off of what the Drake May performance was against
Carolina's defense.
I don't think Carolina's defense is one to fear.
And two are probably going to throw a lot.
So, or throw enough where the opportunity is there for him to be a borderline starter in
the majority of leagues.
Marcus Mariotto would be next just because of the potential absence of Jane Daniels once
again, Marioita four games now over the last two years where he's played significant
amount of snaps for the commanders four games with 20 or more fantasy points so taking on a
little bit of a challenging matchup i would say in week five against chargers uh but still i would
trust them especially since they just allowed jackson dart to run for 54 yards mariotta certainly
has that in his bag so he would be number two jackson dart would have been number one if he had
a healthy league neighbors but i'll put him three a great matchup at least for one week against the saints
then it gets tough after that with two games against philly and denver squeezed in between there so
not an easy upcoming schedule.
And then I wish he was playing better from a fantasy perspective.
He's definitely playing very well from a real life perspective.
That's Sam Darnold.
And he just hasn't had a big fantasy outing yet.
But three straight games of 18 or more points with a high of 20.
So you see the range that he's kind of living in.
The matchup this week for him is not exactly terrible against Tampa Bay.
So if you want to buy into him, I think you can use him is a low-end starter.
But I think the upside favors, at least for this week, Tua, Marioota, and Dart over Donald.
yeah i'm interested in darnold he hasn't thrown more than 33 passes in a game but he's also
only thrown more than 26 passes once but he is just playing really well the bucks are difficult
to run on every year the bucks tend to score a lot of points so i'm hoping this is a game where
they're going to have to throw more uh but you gave some pretty good name like i would definitely
start him over jackson dart next week um against saints yeah he threw for a hundred eleven yards
yesterday. I have really
no confidence in him without Bleak neighbors.
It's zero. I know he's going to run the ball,
but I think the throwing could be a real problem.
I don't know. The other guys, I think you make a pretty good case for.
It'd be hard. Certainly, too, I would go over
Darnold. But yeah, there's some good options.
There are a lot of teams that are going to need quarterbacks next week.
Just keep in mind, Lamar Jackson
may not play as well. So two QB options for me right now
would be Cooper Rush just with the playing time.
So I don't know how much you'll trust him against
the Texans, but clearly desperate times,
for desperate measures.
And stashed candidate
would be Dylan Gabriel at this point.
Like the Browns are clearly
have to be on the verge of a quarterback change.
All right.
We're going to take a break
and come back,
talk about running backs after this.

We are back on FFT Express, who are the running backs to get Woody Marks for sure?
Would you use a number one waiver claim on Woody Marks?
Without a doubt.
I was trying to think, I know, because you're going to ask us tomorrow in terms of FAB,
like this is the first guy in a while that I've gone north of like 15%.
So 25% is what I put in there, just to be a little conservative.
But it wouldn't shock me if, you know, we're five weeks into the season.
You've been saving it, you know, you might spend 50% just to get a running back who has some life, some potential.
So, you know, thankfully we haven't had that major injury yet.
I know I'm probably jinxing it with the games Monday night.
But, you know, we really haven't had that major here.
Oh, no, forget that.
We absolutely have.
Never mind.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, good.
So we've got, not good, but you got my thing.
No, yeah.
You can't jinx it.
It's already happened.
Yes, I can't jinx it.
That's what I meant good.
Bye.
Not good at the Conner shirt.
We already done that on that show.
So in the case of spending your fab on this.
this position like woody marks didn't need an injury no he just looks like he's taking the job
gainwell is uh the best second best steers running back going forward what do you think
he's either the second best um is he the best you want to find out right so you should clearly
go pick him up stash him um ride this out through the by week you know the the stealers may say to
jalen warren hey get yourself right we're okay you know until you're 100% healthy you know
don't rush back.
So I think, you know, good spot for him.
Justice Hill would be the third guy for me.
Just looking at the situation right now that negative game scripts,
if you want to could impact the Ravens and, you know, looking at him as a potential
flex he has the way.
I think it's, it's going to get the number, eight catches in the last two weeks.
So getting more involved in the passing game, again, probably has to do with how the
games are going for Baltimore, but not a bad stash candidate there.
And then we got the news today that the windows open for Tijé Speer.
to return to practice.
Hopefully that happens.
I don't know how many times
we need to keep saying this.
We've been saying this now
for the better part of at least three weeks
to get people aware of this.
So it may not happen this week.
The Titans' offense is awful.
I don't know how willing you are to start.
I always fall into this trap.
I don't know about you,
but we have IR spots
in almost a lot of leagues we play together.
I do it in almost a lot of leagues
that I'm the commissioner.
The minute that he comes off of IR,
you're going to have probably make a tough choice.
Sure.
Some leagues of do I stash him and hold him
or do I drop him?
And based on how the Titans' offense is,
you may just have, okay, I'm glad he's back,
but I can't see this out.
And look, it seems like their offense could get better,
but the only way you're going to trust the running back
in this offense, his Titans' offense,
is if he has all of the touches.
And even with all of the touches, Tony Pollard,
has barely been startable.
So if they're splitting, even if it's a 65-35 split,
that's going to be horrible for both of those.
those guys. But I obviously have Spears on an IR spot. Look, you just never know. I mean,
Pollard could get hurt in the next two weeks and then Spears comes off. So you have to put him
in an IRA spot. Yep. By the way, we had an update today on Joe Mixen. D'Amico Ryan said
that he's not ready to return at this time. And then Aaron Wilson, who covers the team, said
per sources, it will be much longer, if at all, for Mixing to get back on the field this season.
Wide receivers you already gave the list. Just want to run through it again. Yep. It's
number one would be Darius Slayton.
Number two would be Romeo Dobbs.
I think those two are probably obvious just based on what Dobbs did against the Cowboys
and what Slayton's potential role could be.
Jalen Coker's window is now open to return.
Now we haven't had news on that that he is going to start to practice,
but he's now eligible to return in week five.
I'm still going to put in claims if he's available and I need receiver help
with now more injuries at the position for I.O. Manor.
He did have seven targets, so clearly they're trying to get him going.
Calvin really looks lost at this point.
Iowa Manor may continue to just get more opportunities and work.
Isaiah Bond would be after him, you know, just with the uptick and playing time that
we've seen the last couple weeks and now the Tillman injury, Luke McCaffrey, we don't
know when Terry McCoran's going to return.
McCaffrey had another nice play for the commanders in their loss against the Falcons.
And then I don't know which 49ers receiver is going to be healthy on Thursday night.
I don't know if we're going to get Pierceall, if we're going to get Jennings, if none
of them are going to play.
George Kittle can't return until week six.
And so DeMarcus Robinson
It'd be the one that I would look at
Over Kendrick Bourne on a bad drop
So desperate times
Demarcus Robinson first came back
You know, maybe he gets his feet wet
And now it's a revenge game for him taking on the ramps
By the way, Tyler Lockett
I saw this tweet from Jacob
Tyler Lockett has basically supplanted Calvin Ridley
I don't know if Ridley got hurt
But he ran 12 routes yesterday
Lockett and Iommanner ran about 90% of the routes
27 for Lockett 26 for Iron Manor
weren't a lot of routes
Calvin really ran 41% of the routes.
He may just be getting benched, I don't know,
or maybe there was another reason for it.
Tight ends to pick up?
Yeah, this is an ugly list.
So Brent Strange would be the headliner.
You know, there's another solid game, just low-end production.
Nothing great to write home about.
But clearly if you're stuck with the buy weeks, you know,
there's not, there's three different,
there's three decent starting options missing in Kyle Pitts, Tucker Kraft,
and I guess just those two, Kyle Pitts and Tucker Craft.
are off this week. So you might need a replacement in
those formats, certainly for crafts. So Strange would
be the number one guy to add.
I put Tommy Trumbull second. He scored a touchdown,
had five catches. We'll see what this
offense looks like, but Sanders is out.
Theo Johnson scored a touchdown, so we'll see if his
role increases with the injury
to Malik neighbors. Dalton Schultz
has back-to-back weeks with five catches, so maybe
he's starting to get a little bit more involved. So
desperate play for PPR
leagues. And then Jake Tongass for one more week,
you know, taking on the Rams. Left with
the injury against the Jaguars came back. Cut a
touchdown or two-point conversion. I don't know which one it was.
But, you know, got into the end zone and could get an opportunity for more targets with the injuries.
Thank you very much to Jamie Eisenberg.
I'm Adam Azzer. This is the early waiver wire.
We got the whole shabang for you tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. Easter.
See you later, everyone.
