Starting point is 00:01:03 We've got it right now for you on Fantasy Football Today Express. So our pal Emery Hunt has his latest mock draft and it's, you know, it's different than the conventional ones, which is good. It gives us something else to discuss here. So first of all, number one overall, Dave Fernando Mendoza. No, that's not where it's. Wow. Shocking.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Mendoza won. And then we don't really get anything great for fantasy until pick eight, Carnell Tate, pick eight to the Saints. Kind of rhymed. Now, it's New Orleans taking Carnell Tate. How would you feel about that? I feel bad about it for Chris Oliva. I think Tate would be at his best as a number two receiver in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:01:49 as long as the other receiver across from him. It doesn't do the exact same things. He does that potential to be a number one wide receiver someday. And maybe in New Orleans that would happen. I don't know if that would be a sign that the Saints would move on from Chris O'Lah, Lave if they were to draft Tate. But that would be a good combo. That would almost put Shuck on the map in one QB leagues as like a late round flyer,
Starting point is 00:02:12 certainly more so in two QB leagues. Tate would be a middle to late round pick if he's with the Saints. He's probably going to be a middle to late round pick no matter where he goes. Yeah, I don't know that I don't, for Chris Olavé's sake, I mean, you think about his career and he just was the number seven wide receiver per game in PPR. Well, he was on pace for 160. 66 targets. He's never been, I'm not saying he's not capable of this,
Starting point is 00:02:37 but so far in his career, he's not been this, you know, really great per target guy. And he hasn't been a big touchdown score until last year. So I'm not sure we want to see the added competition. Of course, it would be a shock. All right. Moving down to Jeremiah Love. Where does he go?
Starting point is 00:02:53 He goes 10th in this mock draft to the Cincinnati Bengals, which would piss me off because I'm such a James Brown fan. But what do you think about that? This would be bad on multiple levels. Number one, I think if Jeremiah Love went to Cincinnati, just like anybody running back, any running back that goes to Cincinnati, they would share to some degree with Chase Brown. I don't think this would be the end of Chase Brown if Jeremiah Love goes there at 10.
Starting point is 00:03:20 You know, when a running back goes inside the top 10 and certainly top five, top eight somewhere around there, that's just kind of a clear pathway to them being a feature back from the jump. And I don't know if love would be that right away with Chase Brown. He would need for Chase Brown to get pushed to the side before he would go on and be a superstar in that offense. And obviously he'd be amazing. He's going to be amazing almost anywhere he goes. But he would be amazing in Cincinnati when defenses wouldn't be able to load up the box because of the wide receivers that the Bengals have. Would he be a first round pick?
Starting point is 00:03:53 No, he'd still be a second round pick if he's in Cincinnati. But he'd be close. He'd be top 15. And I don't think he'll be top 15. he goes to the Titans, the Giants, the Cardinals. You know, I think he'll be a top 20-ish type of player in fantasy. Love will be based on where he might go in reality and not to Cincinnati at 10. Mikey Lemon 13th to the Rams.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah, I mean, I talked about this with Alfredo on the main show. I'd love it long term. I don't know how I feel in 2026. I'd love it long term as well. And I think he'd probably carve out a few games. as a rookie where he'd have five catches for 75 yards in a touchdown. He'd have a couple of big plays. Really will be hard for defenses to cover him.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I think defense has already forced to play a lot of zone coverage against the Rams anyway. I think that this would just further that and just make it a lot harder, try and keep everybody in front of you and the Rams will just be able to mow down the field. I think it would hurt Devante Adams. I think Adams would probably lose target volume overall, but he'd still have his role in the red zone because that just seems unstimed. And then when DeVante, when the Rams move on from Devante Adams, that would open things up for Lemon to be really good in fantasy, just like we talked about, as you said, on the main show. This is one that I've seen mocked more than a few times.
Starting point is 00:05:13 This isn't out of place at all. It wouldn't surprise me if Lemon stayed at home in L.A. With the Rams and ended up being a huge piece for them moving forward. I'm going to take a break and tell you where Denzel Boston is being mocked. And he's going in this draft ahead of Jordan Tyson. and that he's Jordan Tyson. You'll be surprised to see where he's being mocked in this draft. All right, we'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today Express.

Starting point is 00:06:32 BEDMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming, Ontario. Next skill position player is Denzel Boston, the 6'4 wide receiver out of Washington, going to the New York Jets 16th overall. I would not like that for fantasy whatsoever because the Jets already have, I believe Garrett Wilson is a good do-it-all wide receiver, but certainly he wins on the perimeter. I don't know if they would want to keep him in that role or move him into the slot a little bit more
Starting point is 00:07:02 if they're going to... There's a rangey physical sideline type of wide receiver. He's in that Michael Pittman, Romo Dunzee-type mold. Some people say he's like Mike Evans. I don't think he's as good as Mike Evans, but I think he's a solid physical receiver. Definitely an element that the Jets don't have, but it's also an element that a lot of teams don't have.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And the Jets are just a squad that have so many holes. I'd be surprised if this is where they go with one of their first-round picks to a receiver who doesn't quite have the same. type of versatility or upside to his game as other wide receivers, including Tyson. So you're saying in this draft, Boston went ahead of Tyson. Oh, yeah, 10 picks ahead of Tyson. Tyson going to the Bills.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Wow. Yeah. Well, first of all, if Jordan Tyson goes to the Bills, there's your best wide receiver in 2026 drafts. Everybody will gravitate toward that. And I would love to see that. I don't know because they got DJ more. Yeah, I would be surprised at that.
Starting point is 00:07:59 the bills take a wide receiver with their first round pick, whether it's Tyson, that seems unlikely, or someone like Casey Concepcion, who also fits into their offense a little bit differently than what DJ Moore could do. I think they're going to add somebody. I don't think they're done trying to reinvent their receiving room. And if it's Tyson, that's a long-term solution who can win by getting on the same page and having good timing with Josh Allen on shorter routes and then also being someone who can come through on competitive catches on more downfield routes. Not that he was great at it last year. Tyson wasn't, but the year before he was much better, maybe he works up to that and takes a year where he kind of like learns the game a little
Starting point is 00:08:37 bit and then elevates himself into being the number one wide receiver for Josh Allen for the next five years after 2026. That's it for skill position players. Maybe the biggest surprise in this mock draft is Markell Bell 27th overall to the San Francisco 49ers. So wait a minute. He only has, you said, Tate, Lemon, Boston, and Tyson, so only four wide receivers. Yeah, I think so. Does he have any tight ends going in the first round? Because there's a pretty big one that gets mocked.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Oh, yeah. He's completely skipped over Kenyon, Sadiq. Where did he go? 24th to the Browns. Wow. That would be, that would be jarring, considering the Browns already have Harold Fannin and Fannin. I guess, you know, it could be fun having Fannin and Sadiq. both causing havoc in the intermediate areas,
Starting point is 00:09:31 but that feels like a lot of duplicity that just doesn't make sense to me anyway. Well, you know, teams are going two tight end a lot, three tight end a lot. Yeah, but usually when they do that, at least one of the tight ends is more of an inline blocking type of tight end and Sadiq is not that.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Fanon is not that. So it would be a very, a very different type of approach. And sometimes, listen, we've seen it, Patriots back in the day with Gronk and Hernandez, and there have been other examples. I can't say Andrews and likely is necessarily one of them, but you're catching the idea.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Like when you build something that's unique to your team offensively and it works, usually you get a step ahead of defenses because they're not used to seeing those types of offenses. So if that's what the Browns are thinking, or at least in Emery's mind, that's what the Browns are thinking, that would be interesting. I don't necessarily think it would be great for fantasy because how often do we have two tight ends from the same team being good. It's almost never. It would be horrible for fantasy.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I think it would be really bad. You know, the latest example of something like this, I would have to say would be the Raiders drafting Michael Mayer in the second round and then the next year. And then getting powers. Right. Though it was another level. And Fanon, I think, more of a receiver than Michael Mayer. So this would be, I think, I think Emery hates fantasy managers, basically is what we've
Starting point is 00:10:54 discovered here. The one thing that I love about Emery is that he. sees the game through a very unique lens. Yeah. And that always makes me think. So now, thanks, Emma, I'm going to spend the next hour thinking about, wow, what if Sadiq really does go to the proud? We want Sadiq to go somewhere where there isn't already an established tight end. And that includes Baltimore, by the way, for him to be a surefire top 10 fantasy tight end this year. He needs to go somewhere where there isn't already a stud tight end in place. All right, Dave, thank you. Everybody,
Starting point is 00:11:25 we're getting super close to the draft. We're going to have a lot of coverage for you. Reactions after every round. Not after every round. After every day. Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, early evening. And we are looking forward to breaking it down. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:40 We'll talk to you next week on Fantasy Football Today.
