This is Mock Draft Mayhem, part two
on Fantasy Football Today Express.
I got so excited there.
I knocked my desk over a little bit there.
Sorry for the bobble, but we are here with Jamie Isenberg.
I'm Adam Azer and we're gonna talk about Ryan Wilson's mock draft.
Yesterday we looked at Chris Tripasso's. Now we'll take a look at Ryan Wilson's.
He has Ashton Gentry going pretty late falling to the Broncos with the 20th
pick in the draft I believe. Yeah, 20th overall. So if that happens, if Gentry
goes to the Broncos, how many running backs are you drafting ahead of him?
In redraft?
Yeah.
He will probably still be in the top 15 overall picks. So I would say that's like running back
four or five for me. So definitely I would take him after Bijan, after Gibbs, after Barclay.
And right now I have A Chan at four. So I would
probably take Genti in that range either four or five.
Oh, it'd be so good. I think because Sean Payton has just an extensive track record
of throwing to his running backs, not just Alvin Camara. So I would, I would love this
landing spot. Would you?
I would, I don't think it's realistic unless the Broncos trade up.
And it's funny because I think I referenced in the full length episode and you can see the stories on
the site. So we decided to break up the owners meetings for those that have followed us forever
or are unaware. So we get a chance to, I get a chance to be around and listen to all the coaches
and they speak to the media. So anything they say is kind of fair game for us to use. And we're doing
it by division. So I'm trying to find like a relevant fantasy note for every team. And I did the
Broncos last night. And Sean Payton was asked, you know, about his running back situation.
And he said, they didn't love the free agent class. I'm summarizing here. Didn't love
the free agent class. The draft is filled with a lot of depth. So, they are going to
add a running back. Yeah. If he can get his hands on Gentie, I think it would be a dream. It would be very surprising though,
if he gets past one of the Raiders or Bears,
or potentially Jaguars at the top of the draft.
All right, the second question here about Ryan's mock draft
is about the Buffalo Bills.
And they take Luther Burden, I believe.
Yeah, let me just double check.
So they take Burden, yeah, 30th overall.
And the question is, how would you rank
Buffalo's pass catchers if they take Luther Burden?
So assuming that they don't add another veteran,
and we're talking about Khalil, Shakir,
Kian, Coleman, and Burden, I would probably go
Shakir won, Burden two, Coleman three.
Okay. Yeah. All of them would be outside the top 40 receivers.
Yeah, it would be pretty bad for Coleman. It wouldn't be so great for Kincaid either. We didn't talk about him, but yeah, I think Burden would have so much more upside than Shakir.
They're completely different. It's the safety of Shakir and the upside of Burden, right?
Trey Lockerbie I think so. You know, and again,
they gave us the blueprint of what an MVP season for Josh Allen could be without having a dominant
number one receiver. And so he's going to spread the ball around. He's going to use his legs,
as we know. And so I think just based on the receiving core, you know, Brandon Bean
was very glowing about Keon Coleman, just, you know, a raw prospect that has the ability
to be the alpha there, but they made the trade for Mark Cooper for a reason. It didn't work
out, but they were clearly realizing that this receiving core needed some help. And
so they lose Mac Collins. There's an opening for somebody to come in and make some plays. I just don't know if
Birden steps in and becomes, oh my God, this is now the new Stefan Diggs. I just don't know if they
need that. So Shakir just based on, like you said, his safety, his floor, uh, still gives him to be
in the number three receiver range. I just don't know if any of these guys are must start guys in
a two receiver league. Okay. We're going to take a break. Talk about where Omarion Hampton is landing
in this draft from Ryan Wilson.
We'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today Express.
Welcome back everybody.
All right, so Omarion Hampton out of North Carolina.
So he goes to the Raiders in round two, 37th overall.
And how do you feel about that?
Love that.
You know, again, I think.
You can look at some teams and say,
OK, get a rookie running back at a high
profile rookie running back can step in
right away and be a starter and how
good could that be for fantasy?
This is one of those destinations.
This is one of those players you know,
so I would almost think that Hampton to
Denver makes more sense based on where
they're picking at 20th versus gently
falling there. But if you say that he gets through to round two and that's the destination,
as we talked about, you know,
Chris Strapasso's mock draft with Tech McMillan going to the Raiders.
If you were to say they come out of this draft with McMillan and Hampton,
that's a home run first two rounds for fantasy and reality because this Raiders
offensive line is better than a lot of people realize.
I think Chip Kelly is going to come in and do some nice things.
It's often coordinator.
Do you know Smith is going to be much better at the quarterback spot.
And so Hampton would be not far behind Gentie.
Uh, I don't think he's going to go in the first round.
I don't think he ended up going in the second round, but round three, I,
that's where we're going to start to talk about him.
You know, so you get to that Bucky Irving, um, Chris Brown,
chase, excuse me, chase Brown, um, range, you know, of RB 10, 11,
12.
That's where Hampton will come in for me.
It's just crazy.
The drafts that we have done late round two into the middle of round three, I'm just
blown away by how good the running backs are there.
Right.
It's James Cook.
I'm not saying all these guys are going to last, but James Cook, Bucky Irving, excuse
me.
I have to sneeze. I'm not saying all these guys are gonna last, but James Cook, Bucky Irving. Oh, excuse me. I have to sneeze. I'm back. James Cook, Bucky Irving, Chase
Brown, Jonathan Taylor's been falling in PPR. And then you're gonna put Gentie in there.
He's not gonna go that that late, but he's gonna bump somebody back and you're gonna
put Hampton in there hopefully. And this loaded running back class. It's it's pretty interesting.
And maybe for some people a compelling
reason to take a wide receiver early in the first round instead of a running back. All right. So you
say you're gonna love if you start out chase Jefferson, lamb, maybe neighbors, maybe Puka,
you know, with one of your first picks. And then you come back in round two and you have the choice
of four or five of these guys, you know, one might fall your first picks. And then you come back in round two and you have the choice of four or five of these guys.
You know, one might fall to round two,
excuse me, round three.
Imagine going Jefferson at let's say four, if he's there.
Trey McBride in round two.
And then Chase Brown, Gentie, no not Gentie,
Chase Brown or Hampton, round three.
It's pretty enticing.
Yeah. Okay, we've got, or Hampton, round three. It's pretty enticing. Yeah.
Okay.
We've got, let's see, Tyler Warren going to the Colts with the 14th pick in the draft.
What's Tyler Warren's tight end upside if the Colts select him?
Yeah, it's going to be frustrating if he ends up there, you know, just so the hope would
be clearly that Richardson working with Josh Allen's quarterback coach and getting better
and you know, beating out Daniel Jones for the job
Helps with his accuracy forty seven point seven percent completion percentage last year was terrible
so if he can be closer to a sixty percent completion guy, which is asking a lot and
Then you're giving him a guy that can win in the middle of the field because I think he will challenge in the middle of
Field I think he's gonna have that type of profile if he can become a more polished passer
Which is again a big ask but then he can end up being a great
fantasy option because you know, this is a guy that we've seen most of his big plays come down
the field. It's hurt, you know, guy like Michael Pittman, for example. So this is not the most
ideal landing spot. So you're asking a lot of Richardson to take the next step and be better.
I would not love Tyler Warren going to the Colts. Yeah, that'd be horrible. However, I would prefer Daniel Jones to Richardson. Even if Richardson does improve, I still don't think
you have a lot of passing yards or passing touchdowns there. I mean, to me, Richardson
improving is about him keeping the job. He's not going to lead a passing offense. That's all that.
I don't want to say productive, but putting up numbers just because of his
profile. Now Jones obviously isn't either, but I still think
Jones could get to like 34 or 3500 yards. I don't really see
that from Richardson, but please don't put Tyler Warren on
the Colts. It's just right. Let's just not even go there.
All right, Jamie, thank you very much. We got so much NFL draft
prep on FFT and coming
up in the coming weeks on FFT Express and we'll talk to you next time. Have a great
weekend everybody.
