The all-bust team for 2025, courtesy of Jamie Eisenberg, right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
Welcome to the show. I'm Adam Azer with Jamie.
And we've got our all-butt. We got Jamie's all-bust team here.
It's a negative guy that's Jamie Eisenberg.
All right. Who's the quarterback of this team?
Unfortunately, it's Lamar Jackson.
You know, number two quarterback in ADP.
He did play 10 healthy games prior to Week 18.
So in the fantasy season, he did give you 10 games of being out there and not full games,
but at least 10 games of production.
And 18.6 fantasy points are less five times.
And so that's not good for a quarterback that we had high expectations for.
So unfortunately, Lamar Jackson gets the top spot at the quarterback position.
But I'm hopeful for a bounceback.
I think there's a lot of potential still.
And you've noted this as recently as this morning.
we were talking about our top 12 quarterbacks that at the start of the season he was awesome hopefully he'll be healthy for the full season hopefully whoever the new coaches will continue to enhance his skills and lamar jackson i think will be a better value pick next year because he will not be drafted as a top three quarterback at least that's the expectation yeah now is this a difficult decision for you or because there are some other candidates you know obviously jaden daniels he he was obviously hurt but he also wasn't great at least jackson gave you some 30 point games in there he gave you
four of them.
Jane Danoes didn't give you any.
He just didn't play enough.
Yeah.
I tried to,
you know,
sort of gauge the injuries.
Like even last year,
I didn't put Christian McCaffrey on the list
because he only played four games.
Like,
how are we to,
you know,
fairly assess these guys when they're not healthy?
Fair.
Okay.
And,
and listen,
on the flip side of that,
they're playing through injuries
because Lamar Jackson,
I'm sure,
was not at 100% at times the season.
Oh, yeah.
He still was out there
and you were basically forced to start him
despite the poor production.
construction. Running backs.
So Sequin Barclay and Ash and Gentney are the two running backs that I have in the running back
positions. Barclay went from 22.2 PPR points per game in 2024 when he was arguably the best
player in fantasy to somebody that we were concerned about coming into the season and then it
played itself out. Thankfully, he did not get hurt. But again, 14.5 p.pr. P.P.R.
points per game in the majority of the fantasy season, not great for Seekoine Barkley.
And then Ashton Genties, the other one. Huge expectations.
probably overhyped, was on the all-rooky team because in terms of his production as a rookie was solid,
but where we drafted him and what we thought he was going to do, again, byproduct of his environment,
in my opinion, more so than his talent.
But not a great season.
He was actually not even the best rookie running back from a points per game standpoint.
Kim Skadabu was better.
So very hopeful for a bounce back season for Genti, coach, quarterback,
hopefully offensive line all upgraded in 2026.
But Genti was tough to trust in 2025 from where we selected him as fantasy managers.
It's hard as really say what went wrong for Sequan Barkley.
You know, I kind of felt like it was an offensive line issue.
I really felt like they weren't blocking well at the second level.
They had a lot of injuries throughout the year on their offensive line.
ESPN has them their run block win rate at 16th, which is not bad,
but it's much lower than what we thought.
You saw flashes, though, from Barclay.
He had this breakaway speed, saw him put great moves on, people in the passing game.
I still think he's a great football player.
He didn't use him enough.
In the passing game?
In any aspect.
I mean, part of our concern was workload.
And there were games that they just got away from him.
Yeah, the whole offense was really, because I thought Jalen Hertz had a case to be the bust quarterback.
He was fine.
I think he finished as a QB7 or something like that.
You can't really argue that he was a bus.
but the points per game was so much lower than what you were expecting.
The whole offense was really just not good.
Good thing for Barclay, 19 or more carries in four straight games,
so they're trying to get him going.
His last game was terrible, but the three before that,
very good for fantasy.
All right, let's take a break.
Wide receivers, tight ends, and flex at the bus,
on the all-bust team after this.
All right, who we got a wide receiver?
Yeah, these three were relatively easy.
Justin Jefferson, Brian Thomas, and Ladd-McConkie.
So Jefferson, again, I don't think you knock him for him.
And if you look at what he accomplished in the five starts with Carson Wentz,
he averaged 16.7 PPR points per game, which clearly is not the expectation for Justin Jefferson.
But you say, okay, if that's what I'm getting from him, cool, I'll take it.
Not a big deal.
What he did with the non-Carsen-went starts, 10.7 PPR points per game for the season.
Like awful, absolutely awful.
So I'm hoping what we saw in week 18, which was a combination of McCarthy and Max Brosmer, where he went for over 100 yards receiving and scored 18 ppr points.
Like, okay, maybe we get that guy still.
But he's going to be one of the more fascinating people to break down next year going into 2026.
Brian Thomas, I think we all can call him one of the biggest disasters this season.
10.1 ppr points per game through week 8 through week 17 after 16.7 ppr points per game as a rookie.
The addition of Jacoby Myers, the addition of Travis Hunter early in the season, his struggles,
injuries were a part of this.
This was another guy playing through an injury at the start of the season.
So it wasn't helpful.
Just clearly disastrous season for a guy that was a borderline first round pick.
And then Lab McConkey, another guy that had a big rookie season, 15.1 p.r points per game in 2024,
finished averaging 11.3 ppr points per game,
eight games with 9.8 ppr points or less.
So just awful for those three guys.
And I think a lot of, you know,
for Jefferson and McCawkey, at least easy path to success coming back next year.
Charters get off the offensive line.
Maybe the Vikings bring in a veteran quarterback
in case McCarthy gets hurt again all the time.
But for Thomas, it just feels like we're not going to get back
to that rookie season, at least in 2026.
McConkey, man, it's really weird.
I mean, he finished the season, obviously, it's the playoffs,
with eight straight games with six or fewer targets.
I don't know how to explain that.
I mean, that's not all offensive line.
You know, even the game against Dallas,
the one good game for Justin Herbert.
He caught a touchdown there,
but four catches, 43 yards and a touchdown on six targets.
Just very strange.
Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen had better years
than we ever could have imagined.
Arronda Gadsden emerged late.
So there was much more target competition than we expected for McConkey for sure.
And tight end, who's the bust of tight end?
I really struggled with this.
I went based on ADP and T.J. Hoggson was the number six tight end that we were drafting from our side on CBS Sports.
Finished as a number 26 tight end, 7.5 pvr points per game.
So just a disaster for him.
You can make a case for Brock Bowers.
We talked about this, that, you know, the expectations he did not meet them.
Sam Leporta and what the hope would be for him,
you know, missing a lot of time with the back injury.
So I sort of negated him from that perspective.
So I think there's a few different ways you can go with this one.
I just went with ADP and finish.
And Hawkinson was nowhere close to being the number six tenant.
Yeah, that's a good call.
The case for McBride would, or no, the case for Bowers would be,
you were counting on him to basically help you win your league.
And he just certainly did not do that,
even though he didn't have a bad year.
But Jamie, you nailed it.
It is T.J. Hawkinson.
Terrible year for him, unfortunately.
And how about, is there a flex?
Yeah, another one that I struggle with,
just because there wasn't anybody, I think, that was glaring.
But I went to Alvin Camara.
He was the number 31 player overall on the CBS Sports ADP,
and he averaged a career low 9.2 ppr points per game.
He missed the final five games of the season,
so you can say injuries were certainly a factor at the end of the year.
But the fact that he still played 12 games
and delivered that level of, you know, production or lack thereof was tough.
And then, you know, you saw how the Saints' offense pick things up at the end of the season.
I know we were, I think, collectively saying that this was a guy you could trade for when we looked at the schedule and how favorable it was to end the year.
And he just wasn't there for you.
So on top of the fact that he didn't help you in the fancy playoffs, second year in a row for him.
But this was one that I was very nervous about at the start of the season.
and unfortunately it played itself out that way.
So to finish, you know, as poorly as it did for Albuquer.
I hope it's not the end of his career.
I'd like to see him come back one more time.
But 31 years old now, we'll see what the Saints decided to do.
All right.
Thank you very much to Jamie Eisenberg.
Great content on the website, CBSports.com slash fantasy.
