Running backs in danger.
Which running backs would lose value based on the NFL draft?
We'll talk about it right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
And welcome to the show, Adam Azor, Jamie Eisenberg.
All right, we're going to start with Jeremiah Love and where he might go
and which veteran running backs Jeremiah Love could basically destroy the fantasy value of.
And you think Tennessee is the first realistic one at four, Jamie?
Seems like it.
You know, I think if you're, you know, looking at teams in need,
teams with new coaching staff, a team with an opportunity to inject some life into its offense
and help a rookie quarter or a young quarterback, excuse me, makes sense for the Titans.
So, you know, Jeremiah Love goes there.
It's actually not the worst situation because I don't know how many people are excited about Tony Pollard
after the year he just had.
Certainly, Tizier Spears has been a disappointment as that, oh, maybe if he gets an opportunity
and he just never gets an opportunity.
So it's not the worst, you know, backfield to destroy.
but I think at the same time,
it's not the most ideal landing spot
because they're not going to have a dynamic passing game
with the receiving cord that they have.
And I would guess, unless there's a secondary move involved,
Pollars are going to get touches and maybe Spears gets touches.
So it's not like this is perfect,
but I do think of Love goes there.
He's certainly the 1A, you know,
every one attach it,
but makes Tony Pollard a late-round pick at best
and Tijey Spears on draftable.
Right now, I think if you're looking at,
and he doesn't go there.
For me, the next most logical spot would be Washington.
If we see Pollard escape the draft, then I think he's going to be a really good value pick.
I kind of put him as like, you know, we've talked about this a little bit, like a discount,
Chuba Hubbard.
You know, if Hubbard ends up still as a starter, that's a guy that I would look for as early as round five.
Tony Pollard, not far behind him, maybe late round five, early round six.
I suppose the Cardinals could take him at three, Jeremiah, I love, tightens at four.
Why would you do that, though, if you're Arizona?
Why would you do that if you're Tennessee?
Why would you do that if you're the Giants?
Well, I think from Arizona's perspective, they spent money on the position this offseason in two ways.
They restructure James Connor.
They bring in Tyler Algear.
You still have a young guy that you don't even know what he's capable of doing in Trey Benson like that.
I don't disagree with you.
Like, you know, you're getting a very talented player to help your offense.
And if he's right, that really makes his offense complete.
You have tight end.
You have a, you know, good top two receivers.
but I don't know.
I wouldn't, I wouldn't, I would look defense if I'm the, they have so many holes in
I think so. I would, I don't think they spent so much money on the position that it would
preclude them from taking Jeremiah.
No, no, no, but they spent money on the position.
Yeah, they're, they've got, they've got running backs, but, um, the last thing on love
and we'll talk about other running backs.
If he went to the giants, you know, what would that mean for scataboo?
People are so excited right now.
And you do see a lot of mock drafts for what it's worth that have the giants.
taking Jeremiah Love and Scataboo, you know, is a monster near the goal line and really good in that
role. But what do you think it would mean for him? Obviously, it would be bad news for Tracy.
I think that would be a coach coming in and saying, I want something specific there.
And that's something specific being a workhorse that has an extra level. Like Scatabu, I think,
is good. Jeremiah Love could be elite. And so,
If you think take pressure off a young quarterback,
change a little bit of the dynamic of the offense,
have a good tandem.
I mean, look,
it wouldn't be great for,
I think Love's ceiling and certainly would crush Scataboo.
But from a Giants perspective,
like,
you know,
you don't want to see them go down this path again
because of what typically drafting a running back early means for a franchise
and leaving some talented players on the board,
especially defensively.
But, like,
offensively,
if neighbors is right,
if likely is what he's capable of being,
if Dart is what he's capable of,
of being like this offense looks very formidable and could be one of the, I don't want to say
best in the league, but, you know, upper half of the league for sure.
Okay.
Other running backs, veteran running backs that you think might be affected by the NFL draft
in a, you know, underwhelming running back class.
But any of that come to mind?
I mean, we've talked about a few of these situations like Carolina, you know, moving on from
Rico Dowell and sort of.
playing the waiting game with Jonathan Brooks, like, do they go out and get someone to challenge
or just to help Chuba Hubbard, who we know was very good for them in 2024, was very
disappointing in 2025, and then eventually loses his job, Tariko Daudal, who had that great,
you know, two-game stretch, whatever, you know, you want to say. But those games against Miami
and Dallas were amazing. So, you know, we'll see what they do there. I think Jacksonville is another one.
that we're waiting to see what happens.
There was, I believe, I think it was Sports Illustrated.
I have to go back and look.
Positive report about Bachel Tutin
and what the coaching staff may be looking for from him.
Dave had that, you know, a comment from Liam Cohen on serious,
the NFL channel where, you know, they're looking at it more as a group.
But clearly, if they go out and get somebody that's going to factor into, you know,
both Tutin and Chris Rodriguez, who they signed.
Obviously, Washington is a team that we have to look at and say,
do they go out and get somebody?
You know, that's another team that, you know, not necessarily spent a lot of money on the position,
but, you know, did bring in Rashad White, did bring back Jeremy McNichols and, you know, has Bill, you know,
to Corey Kroski Merritt to see what he could look like.
So that's another team, I think you say, do they add another piece to this backfield?
And does that piece potentially be the best option for fantasy for us, at least, you know,
in what stills are crowded, you know, backfield running back group?
All right.
We're going to take a quick break.
can come back and finish this discussion.
We'll be right back on Fantasy Football Today Express.

All right. We're back and we're talking about running backs.
NFL veteran running backs could be affected with another running back being added in the NFL draft.
I think it is fair to question if there's any running back other than Jeremiah Love that is really going to affect an established veteran.
You know, like if it is Tennessee taking a running back in a different round.
You know, maybe it's one more year of mostly Tony Pollard and then they move on and that,
and it's Judarian Price or Kate John Allen or whatever would then have a launching pad in
27.
But, you know, we'll see where these guys end up.
But I don't know if there were any other situations you wanted to discuss.
I don't know if you mentioned.
No, I do think it's worth mentioning.
Like, we also shouldn't panic in the scenario you're talking about, you know, so it's not
Jeremiah Love.
It is, you know, might not even be day two, you know, just how this class is being viewed.
I'm sure there'll be a couple guys on day two,
but not necessarily where we're seeing
that huge glut of running backs
that typically come off the board.
So you mentioned Price.
I think we could see,
Mike Washington is another one
that can go in this range.
But also, the flip side of this is,
think about how excited we got about Caleb Johnson.
And going to Pittsburgh,
there seemed to be an opening
because was Jalen Moore
never going to be viewed as the feature option?
And oh, yeah, they made this kind of minor transaction.
to go get Kenneth Gainwell.
And then obviously we see how this unfolded that Caleb Johnson was not very good in the preseason,
was not very good in training camp based on reports, and now is just seemingly phased out.
So I wouldn't necessarily panic if there is a day two guy added to a backfield and say that that established veterans.
So like the scenario that comes to mind for me the most is Carolina because Chuba Hubbard got a big deal,
didn't perform well last year, you know, got hurt, and then we see, you know, how it unfolded for him.
Well, now he's getting maybe a chance to have the reset button for him.
So that's one that I would look at.
And then I also think you can look at some of the older running backs that may get competition,
but not necessarily for this year.
And this is, you know, leads itself into handcuffs and some of those things.
So like Baltimore would have shocked you if they drafted a running back at some point,
you know, try and maybe find the air parent to Derek Henry, Philadelphia.
You know, Josh talked about some of the full-length episode.
Like, they've been very good at trying to find the next guy up all the time, you know.
And so do they have that guy in the back?
field right now, whether it's Tank Biggsby or Will Shipley, maybe they go out and get another
running back to eventually the play Sparkley. And then the one that really stands out to me is
San Francisco. They always drafted a running back almost in the Kyle Shanahan tenure, John Lynch
tenure. They almost always drafted a running back. We know we've heard a lot of positive reports about
Jordan James and is he going to be that guy. They still have Isaac Grunda on the on the roster.
Remember, they were aggressive last year in trading for Brian Robinson Jr. didn't really get a chance
to play because McCaffrey stayed healthy. McCaffrey, last time we saw him coming off this workload
2023 to 2024, only played four games.
That's a situation I keep an eye on in the draft as well as San Francisco.
One team I want to say what they do is Denver,
if they give us an indication of how they feel about RJ Harvey.
Now, they say all the right things about RJ Harvey,
but he just wasn't very effective last year.
And they've re-signed Dobbins.
That's one thing.
But if they take a day two running back,
it's not going to make me feel great.
If anyone takes a day three running back in this class,
it's really not going to change.
I don't think it's going to change my opinion.
Obviously, we have to see who it is.
But it's a bad class.
You're taking a day three running back.
They usually don't do much anyway.
Last year being a little bit of a different story
with some of the first running backs take,
well, scataboo, Tutin,
and who am I missing early round four last year?
Scadaboo, Tutin.
I think it was good.
But anyway, yeah, I mean,
day three running backs usually don't do much.
And in a bad draft class,
it probably shouldn't change your mind.
and I'm killing time before I figure this out.
It was in round four.
Cam Scataboo, Trevor, E.T.N. Woody Marks.
That's what it was.
Woody Marks.
That's another team to be nine, too.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
All right, Jamie, thanks very much.
It's been Fantasy Football Today Express.
Have a great day, everybody. Talk to you soon.
