Starting point is 00:00:00 What's going on, everyone? Heath and I just recorded our latest edition of the Fantasy Football Today in 5 podcast, and about two minutes after we finished recording, the news broke that a Tennessee Titans coach has tested positive. So anything you hear about that game is a little bit outdated.
Starting point is 00:00:15 You obviously need to be very, very cautious about that game. It's clearly in jeopardy, but we don't know much more than that right now. With that being said, here is Fantasy Football Today in 5. Hopefully you get some good start or sit information in this show. And good luck in Week 5.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Do we have any games that are in jeopardy of not being played? We'll update you on that, plus some injury news and starters. Sit right now on Fantasy Football Today in 5. And good morning, everybody. It is Week 5. Let's get ready for the games. Very excited to watch some football today. Adam Azer and Heath Cummings here on FFT in 5, a podcast that gets you caught up fast on the fantasy news and advice you need to know.
Starting point is 00:00:58 If you are listening in the FFT feed, please follow and stream Fantasy Football Today in 5 on Spotify. What's going on with the Patriots game? They shut down their facility. They had another test on Sunday morning, and you've got to be a little nervous here. I'm a lot nervous. I've been, you know, as you've been going through your 17 intros to get it just perfect. Yes, folks. That was number 17. I've been trying to take
Starting point is 00:01:18 all the James White and Rex Burkhead out of my lineups. And that's going to mean I'm starting some J.D. McKissick and Devontae Freeman on Sunday. And that's just how scared i am uh we don't know and it's possible that um i don't know what kind of type of test they're retaking tests this morning i don't know if they're like the rapid tests and maybe we could hear something before 1 p.m kickoff the broncos are supposed to be flying to Foxborough today. But as we saw last week, the Patriots flew on game day,
Starting point is 00:01:49 so they could push the Broncos back a day. I think the most prudent course of action is to act as if the game's not going to happen. And the funny thing, or it's not really funny, but one of the, I guess, ironic parts is that as of right now, Sunday morning, Cam Newton hasn't even been ruled out yet. So there's a chance if the game is played that he might play.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Yeah, I do think there's still a couple of I don't know, like life rafts sitting out there, I guess. Like the only game we know for sure that's going to play after Sunday is that Chargers-Saints game.
Starting point is 00:02:25 They've not had any problems at all with either of those two teams. And last I looked, Justin Jackson was still not rostered in any, even half of leagues. Okay. Yeah. So that's, that's kind of the,
Starting point is 00:02:37 if you can go get him, if you're super duper desperate, if the, like the Titans and bills seem more likely at this point to play than the patriots and broncos and the titans we know are not going to have cory davis or adam humphries and aj brown hasn't played in a month so khalif raymond is probably going to see a half dozen targets and had a big gain the last time the titans played a k Kansas City coach has tested positive strength and conditioning coach. It's Sunday
Starting point is 00:03:07 and they play the Raiders today. What are we thinking? That happened yesterday and I have heard nothing since that happened that leads me to believe that game is in question. I think we just proceed unless we hear something else, and
Starting point is 00:03:25 that's the problem with doing this. I should correct myself. Justin Jackson's only available in 36% of leagues now, but still, if you could go get him. Alright, Heath, we got a lot more news here. Buffalo, Tennessee is set for Tuesday and looking better in terms of that game being played. Joe Mixon expected to play. Are you
Starting point is 00:03:41 starting him at Baltimore? You probably have to. I would rather start Mike Davis. I would rather start Kareem Hunt. But now we believe Raheem Mostert's going to play, and so I would start mixing over Jarek McKinnon, who we were really excited about earlier in the week. Would you start mixing or Mostert?
Starting point is 00:04:01 I would start mixing over both. I think I would actually start McKinnon over Mostert still. They're both right in that low-end number two range.io jones is going to be a game time decision how does his status affect matt ryan russell gage calvin ridley zaccheaus etc the thing is with the receiver specifically i mean zaccheaus would just disappear from being a possible deep flex if julio played ridley engage I think their efficiency is helped enough by his presence that any loss in
Starting point is 00:04:29 volume would be made up for. I like them just about the same. You're starting Calvin Ridley regardless, and Gage is a fine number three. Matt Ryan, I would be slightly more interested in, but he'd remain in that low-end number one quarterback range. Michael Thomas is questionable, and as of Sunday morning right now,
Starting point is 00:04:46 are you putting Michael Thomas in your lineup? He has a Monday night game. I, yeah, I had that choice in a lot of leagues. And in most of those leagues, he's in a flex spot right now because I have a chargers running back that I can put in for him.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I have one league where I don't have that choice. And I just, I don't really have anybody that I feel even, it's not like with James White where I'm binging him for JD McKissick. I'm mostly just going to probably roll Thomas out there and hope. So you wouldn't start like Darius Slayton over him. Slayton's a little different story. Like I was saying,
Starting point is 00:05:19 I wouldn't start McKissick or Devante Freeman over him, but I do like, I like Slayton enough that I probably would. All right. Real quick starts and sits. Teddy Bridgewater or Matt Ryan or Drew Brees? I'm going with touchdown Teddy. I think he gets three of them today. Jimmy Garoppolo is back.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Would you start him over Ryan Fitzpatrick? I would happily. Kenyon Drake or a waiver wire running back? I don't believe I have any waiver wire running backs ahead of Drake. How about Kenyon Drake or Joe Mixon? Kenyon Drake or Le'Veon Bell? I would start Le'Veon over Drake in full PPR. And I would start Mixon.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Yeah, I'd start Mixon over Drake too. And finally, who are just a couple wide receivers you're feeling good about this week? A sneaky one I'm feeling good about is Greg Ward. Deshaun Jackson ruled out. Alshon Jeffrey ruled out. They're going to be playing from behind. They don't have Dallas Goddard either. I think Greg Ward sees enough targets to where he has a good day in PPR.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And I'm pretty, pretty excited about Terry McLaurin. The matchup hasn't mattered all that much. The quarterback hasn't mattered all that much. He's just a number one right receiver that no one seems to want to treat like a number one. All right, that's your Sunday edition of Fantasy Football Today in six. Well, you know, you needed the info today,
Starting point is 00:06:34 so we appreciated that. Heath Cummings, I'm Adam Azer. Make sure you're following us and streaming us on Spotify. Good luck in week five, everybody. Check out the Fantasy Football Today podcast for an instant recap of your games.
