Starting point is 00:00:24 casino gambling problem call 1-866-531-2600 visit connectsontario.ca We're here to spread some cheer into your day with the All Bus Team for 2024 right now on Fantasy Football Today Express. All right, here we go. Jamie's here with his All Bus Team. I'm Adam Azer. He probably knew that. Like does that does anybody not know that? Here we go. Jamie. Who's the quarterback on the All-Buzz team? You're in mid-season form. The quarterback was probably the toughest one because you can make a lot of arguments for a lot of guys that were drafted in the first eight quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:00:57 So Mahomes could be on the list. Anthony Richardson could be on the list. Jordan Love was the number six quarterback drafted, could be on the list. But I went with CJ Stroud, who was the number five quarterback drafted. So he was awful. And the tough call was really between him and Mahomes. And the difference for me was Mahomes, if you started him in the second half of the season, basically from like week eight or nine on, he averaged over 20 fantasy points per game. And if you were starting him and made the playoffs week 16 and 17 he was amazing over 25 points in both those games.
Starting point is 00:01:32 So he carried you if you started him in the playoffs. CJ Stroud you can start. He was absolutely, absolutely atrocious as a fantasy quarterback. And so you can make the excuse and say, well, he lost Nico Collins early in the year for with the Concussion right question. No. No, you can't win on I are like a knee knee injury. He lost Stefan Diggs with a knee injury There were plenty of games where he had two of those guys tank Dell and and digs Dell and Collins like he had his receivers, you know, and and you could say better than what he had last year when he was amazing. Uh, it was just bad. You know, I'm, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:09 we, we just got finished talking about our top 12 quarterbacks for 2025. I'm hopeful he's going to be one of these late round picks that you take a chance on and he rewards you. Yeah, it's, uh, hard to say what exactly went wrong of it. You know, there were the injuries, but like you said, even when everyone was healthy, he wasn't that good. He struggled a lot under pressure and the offensive line was a problem this year. Uh, but yeah, there are always some risks. He did run for 233 yards. He, I don't think he reached 200 last year, but just, uh, just a horrible season for CJ shroud. Okay. Uh, who's our busts, uh, at running back.
Starting point is 00:02:44 So running back one is, well why they're both relatively easy. Breezhal was the second overall player drafted, not the second overall run. Well, it was a second overall running back, but not just the second overall running back. So Christian McCaffrey was the number one running back drafted. And I guess we should put the asterisk on this that I took out all of the guys who were injured in the majority of games. So they had to have missed less than five games.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Does that make sense? Yeah. Missed less than five games. So I took McCaffrey off the list. I know he was frustrating. Everybody drafted him first overall, but he's just not part of this conversation. So Breece Hall is, in my opinion, the biggest bust.
Starting point is 00:03:23 And the second biggest bust that running back was Travis Etienne drafted at 18th overall finished outside the top 30 running backs. So Hall was running back 16 points per game and total points. Travis Etienne was an absolute disaster. So those are the two running backs that as the bus. Oh, Etienne. Yikes.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I mean, I don't even know what kind of career he's going to have at this point. If he who's the starting running back for them next year? Is it Bigsby? Is it ETN? Are they just? We went over the draft that we did on Tuesday on the Thursday show, Wednesday show. Excuse me. I took him in round eight. To me, that's a easy high upside type of play, but could, yeah, we could see tank Bigsby as the better running back there and they may draft somebody else. All right. Let's get your bus set wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:04:12 We're going to do that in just a second. BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. We are back. One thing before we get to the wide receivers, I just wanted to see where Tank Bigsby went in the draft we did, And he went in round nine. So ETN went around and a half basically ahead of Tank Bigsby in a full PPR league. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Wide receiver busts. Tyree Kill is in the conversation for biggest busts of them all. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Debo Samuel were the three busts that wide receiver. It's hard to argue with those three. Tyree, we know you can sort of say, okay okay, you're gonna take injuries out of it. Well, why are you giving him that? Why you're not giving him that pass because he didn't play six games in the fantasy season Or five games in the fantasy season with without two a tongue of I love four that he missed with a concussion one that he Missed with the hip injury didn't play in week 18 also But he was just bad like, know, failed to get a thousand yards, obviously got very
Starting point is 00:06:07 frustrating at points in the season. He was miserable in the four games without two. And I think that really, you know, sort of spiraled downhill from there. But he's going to be a fascinating case, whether he's back with the Dolphins or not, how we approach him next season. And he went way too soon in the mock draft. Second round pick is just, it's hard to justify that right now Yeah, actually
Starting point is 00:06:29 The second round the first round of the fantasy draft I think was pretty bad for wide receivers all of them were disappointing in some way Not all of them were bad, but CD lamb was disappointing Tyree kill huge bust. I'm on raw st. Brown Or about 18.5 fantasy points per game. He was disappointing in my opinion. Justin Jefferson disappointing. Jamar Chase not. AJ Brown disappointing.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Jefferson was disappointing? Yeah, I think so. He scored, he again, he's a guy who scored about 18 fantasy points per game. Let's see, he scored 18.6 fantasy points per game. Last year, he scored 20. Take out week 18 though. He was over 19 going into that. Okay, but he didn't, he didn't hit 20. Wait, why am I, why am I taking out week 18? Well, he was just miserable in the game. That didn't really matter for fantasy purposes.
Starting point is 00:07:15 It didn't matter for fantasy, but it's still, you know, I never take out week 18 unless they sat there guys. Um, I think he was disappointing, you know, he was great at the start of the year, but he never, unless I'm wrong, oh no, he had one, maybe two weeks where he finished his wide receiver one. For a while, he had not finished wide receiver one. And then week 14, he had 32 points. Week 16, 36 points. He was definitely wide receiver one there. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:40 He wasn't like a superstar. And I guess we have different views of it. I think given the concerns going in with can Sam Donald or JJ McCarthy support Justin Jefferson, and looking at the rest of the position, I mean, he was still pretty elite. He was. Maybe he wasn't peak Justin Jefferson, but I think you got your return. He wasn't peak Justin Jefferson. I think for Jefferson and St. Brown, you got your return on investment. You think so?
Starting point is 00:08:07 Yeah, because you wanted them to be great and they were great. You could have drafted Tyree Kill and gotten that scenario. You could have drafted C.D. Lamb, who was still really good, but he wasn't elite. I want a first round wide receiver to hit 20 points per game. But one guy did that. Of the first round wide receiver to hit 20 points per game. But one guy did that. Of the first round guys, yeah. I mean, yeah, I mean, Chris Goblin and Marshy Rice did that. But yeah, one guy, right.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Last year, five guys did that. That's kind of what I'm saying. We just didn't have an elite year at wide receiver, I guess what I'm saying. Yeah, I find it hard to complain about that one though. It's not hard to complain, Jamie. I make it pretty easy to complain. Who's the busted tight end? The busted tight end.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Again, you know, you can make an argument for Kelsey. You can make an argument for Laporta. But I looked at who in the top five guys drafted at the position were awful and it was Dalton Kincaid. And he was again, three games in double digit PPR points dropped in a lot of leagues you know Kyle Pitts if you want to go a little bit further than that he was clearly frustrating as well so at least again you know Kelsey was startable came on at points toward the end of the season Laporta definitely came on at the end of the season he was just miserable early
Starting point is 00:09:18 but Kinkade was one of the worst busts at one of the worst tight ends of the top five guys and top guys overall yeah i don't know i just kind of the worst tight ends of the top five guys and top guys overall. Yeah, I don't know. I just kind of want to talk more about the wide receivers. Well, I have one more bust to his deflects and that was Cooper Cup and he only missed four games. He actually finished points per game as the 22nd wide receiver. So he wasn't completely awful. But if you recall, as we got toward the end of draft season like he kept getting pushed up and up and up and up and up And I don't remember where his ADP settled, but I know in a lot of our drafts Personal and professional he was getting drafted late round two early round three
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yeah, his ADP settled in CBS at 32nd overall but definitely was a riser and Definitely someone I wanted to get. And I don't think I drafted him in any leagues. I guess I got lucky. But I bought into it. I still feel like there was a scenario where he could have had a good year, but it really, honestly, it's just the way it finished.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Yeah. He faded so bad. Well, he, he, he scored a combined single digits in fantasy points in the playoffs. He had nine targets in three games in the fantasy playoffs. Yeah, like complete disaster. And, you know, there were certainly reasons to still start them because, okay, he's going to come around, the offense is going to come around. Look, the offense really struggled, you know, to even go back to our show that we just finished about buying into them in the playoffs. Can they flip the switch and get hot against the really tough
Starting point is 00:10:43 defense in Minnesota? I think that they can, you think that they can't. And I think both sides have a fair. I think that they won't. I wouldn't say that they can't. No, I'm sorry. You don't expect them to. I expect them to have a better game than you do. And so we'll see how this comes out.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And I think Uber comes a big part of it. So that's why I said on the show, we're talking DFS, he's a good contrarian player. Yeah. Stafford threw for 189 or fewer yards in four of his last five games. That's wild. But didn't really throw up.
Starting point is 00:11:10 They had a good kind of ball control, run the football, great defense. The defense played really well down the stretch. Anyway, that's the All Bus team. You can check out the article at cbsports.com slash fantasy. For Jamie, I'm Adam. If you already knew that. Talk to you next time on FFT Express.
