Stop me if you've heard this one before. We've got a lot of running back injuries to talk about.
Let's get those lineups set on Fantasy Football Today in 5.
Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Week 10. Let's go win a week.
Let's get those lineups set with the advice of Heath Cummings. This is Fantasy Football Today
in 5, a podcast to get you caught up fast on the fantasy news and advice you need to know.
Follow us and stream us on Spotify. I'm Adam Azer. Here's Heath.
Heath, all right. Let's run through it. And we got weather to talk
about as well. First of all, David
Johnson is not just out this week. He is on
IR. He is going to miss the next three games.
Duke Johnson at Cleveland,
New England, and at Detroit. What do you think
about him this week and the next three?
He's a borderline top
12 back this week. And the matchups,
I guess, don't really get much more difficult
based on what we actually know from the 2020 season.
So I think you'll be looking at starting Duke Johnson for each of the next
three weeks.
High end number two and non PPR,
maybe a low end number one and full PPR.
Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are out this week at the Rams.
What do you think about Dallas and Homer?
Well,
this is not a great matchup
and it's a
situation where we don't really know
who's going to get the predominance of touches.
So neither DJ Dallas or
Travis Homer are inside my top 30
running backs. They are flexes.
I do prefer Dallas. I think he's
more likely to score.
So he would be right around
running back 30,
Travis Homer more, about 10 spots lower.
Which Dolphins or Chargers running back
are you using?
Matt Breida not expected to play,
Justin Jackson on IR.
So any running backs in that game?
All of the running backs in that game
are behind DJ Dallas for me.
And I just said he's not in my top 30 so i really hope that i'm not using a running back from this game i do think
on the charger side like it's kind of a coin flip between troy main pope and caitlin bellage
pope was really really good when he got the ball a couple weeks ago but that also like was more touches in
one game than he'd ever had in a full season so um it's it's a desperation coin flip on the other
side i think jordan howard and non-ppr is more likely to score than maybe any back in this game
but savon akhmed would be the back that i would want to start if I had to start a Dolphin. Would you start Ahmed or Pope or Balazs?
I've got Ahmed just a couple spots ahead of Troy Mayne Pope,
who is just a couple spots ahead of Kalem Balazs.
I cannot believe the conversations we're having this week.
There was one league that I'm in
where I'm desperate for a running back.
I've got Miles Gaskin and David Montgomery
and Justin Jackson.
They're all out, so I have to start someone on the Bears or the Dolphins
or the Chargers or the Seahawks, and it's a PPR league,
and I chose Travis Homer.
And it was interesting.
Usually you look at your waiver wire on a Saturday night at running back Heath,
and it's awful.
There's just backup running backs.
This week it's like, okay, I don't want to start them, but hey, at least
there's some opportunity there, right? I mean, it's not great, but it's different. You know,
you do have like five or six guys that are available in most leagues that have at least
a chance. And one of them might be good. Yeah, at least they have a chance or it's not going to be
completely fluky. I chose Travis Homer. I might drop him for Troy Maine Pope.
Those are the two I guess I'd be the most interested in.
I don't really want Cordero Patterson or Ryan Nall.
No.
I just think it's a really weird week.
Wayne Gallman, I assume, would be way ahead of all these guys.
Wayne Gallman is way ahead of all of these guys. JD McKissick is way ahead of all of these guys
I would rather start Adrian Peterson than these guys I'd rather start Jamal Williams as a secondary
back for the Packers than these guys um you should just get a time machine and go back to Thursday
and start Naheem Hines all right last injury here, and then I got to get your take on the weather.
Kenyon Drake is, they're optimistic that he's going to play.
That is a late game.
A lot of the games are late today against Buffalo.
Do you start him if he plays?
And do you sit Chase Edmonds if he plays?
I would start Kenyon Drake over Chase Edmonds in both formats.
I currently got them ranked in that running back 20 ish, 25 ish range.
Both of them.
I think this is a situation where it's a little bit fortunate because yeah,
this is a late game.
So that makes it more difficult,
but this is the first week I can recall in a long,
long time where there's just as many 4th PM games as there are 1 PM games.
So you've got a lot of options to choose from as, as potential backup options.m. games as there are 1 p.m. games. So you've got a lot of options to choose from
as potential backup options.
Yeah, if Drake plays, I'm starting him over all the guys
we've talked about so far, including Wayne Coleman.
Well, not Duke Johnson, obviously.
And there's probably one more that got really messy
that just real quick we should say.
Mark Ingram is expected back for the Ravens.
That pretty much makes the Ravens backs off limits for me.
I don't like they're kind of in the same range as all these other guys we've talked about.
Dobbins would be my favorite, but I don't like him.
Okay, what's your take on all the weather again?
Well, the two main weather games, which would be Green Bay and Jacksonville and Cleveland and Houston.
Give me give me 30 seconds on this.
I came into the week with Baker Mayfield as my favorite streamer.
He's not a top 20 quarterback for me right now.
Deshaun Watson was my favorite DFS contrarian play.
I'm not playing Deshaun Watson in DFS now.
I'm still starting Rodgers and Watson.
I'm still starting Devontae Adams and Will Fuller.
Cooks?
He's a number three wide receiver.
It looks really bad in both Cleveland and Green Bay for downfield
passing.
And most like this Texans pass offense is not a dink and dunk offense.
So I'm pretty worried about them.
And cooks is still a number three,
but I don't really want to kind of the same way I feel about Jarvis
Landry.
Chark.
Slightly ahead of cooks and Landry, but behind four.
All right.
