Bonus pod fantasy football today. We're going to talk about it tomorrow morning, of course, but right now it's Tuesday night.
Does this change anything for the waiver wire? Le'Veon Bell is released. Adam Azer and Jamie Eisenberg.
Jamie, this is not going to be good news for some backfield.
I'm so nervous, Adam Azer. I'm afraid that Le'Veon Bell is going to come in and wreck a good backfield.
Kansas City makes some sense to add Le'Veon Bell. Chicago makes some sense to add Le'Veon Bell.
Chicago makes some sense to add Le'Veon Bell.
I could see a situation where maybe even Cleveland,
looking to replace Nick Chubb, adds Le'Veon Bell.
Man, there's going to be a backfield that gets destroyed by this.
It's going to be very, very frustrating.
Are you going to drop Le'Veon Bell tonight for Chase Claypool or something like that?
Well, Adam adam you were speaking
to somebody who only has levy on bell in one league and it was because he was dropped and i
had an ir spot to stash him on it's a 10 team league with deep rosters so i will not be dropping
him for two reasons one waivers don't run until wednesday okay two uh i'd like to see where he
ends up i mean you know i don't know why anybody would be dropping him
at this point because maybe he has an improvement
leaving Adam Gase.
Look what has happened to every player who leaves Adam Gase.
That's right.
They get better.
Yeah.
So who's going to get better now in that backfield?
Frank Gore going to get all the work?
What do you think?
I mean, Frank Gore makes the most sense because of what he's been doing in the Le'Veon
Bell absence. But you know,
this is the time if you're the Jets to start to see what you have.
And LaMichael P.
Ryan may not be a starting running back in the NFL.
He may not be a great fantasy option in the Jets of the Jets,
but I'm not going to go pick up Frank Gore. You know,
I just don't see a lot of upside with him.
And so I,
I'd rather just kind of take the chance on what,
you know,
Michael P Ryan might be.
Now,
if you need somebody to get you five or six points in non PPR and maybe six
or seven points in PPR,
then you go get Frank Gore.
Yeah.
But if a Michael P Ryan turns in anything,
then I'd spend a,
a $1 bid on him tonight just to see what happens.
Well, man, this just kills Joe Flacco's
value, Jamie. This is devastating
for my fantasy teams.
It really does.
If you're the Jets at this point,
do you bring Sam Darnold back anytime soon?
Not until he's healthy.
I know he wants to play, but
my God, this is just a disaster of a franchise.
All right. You know what? Honestly, we don't usually do a three-minute podcast, you know he wants to play but like my god this is just a disaster of a franchise all right you
know what honestly like we don't usually do a three-minute podcast but i don't know that there's
much else to say michael p ryan is the guy that jamie is going to be going after i'm sure you
would still pick up like jd mckissick over him right oh yeah i mean this is one of those um
you know i guess you gotta you know determine like like if I'm if I still holding Carlos Hyde, if I'm still holding Jordan Howard, if I'm still holding, you know, Traquan Smith, if I'm still holding on guys that are going to have no value to me, I'm going to drop those guys for for somebody like like Michael P.
Right. Like, you know, we play an IDP league with 27 roster spots.
You know, you pick up Michael P.
Right. You know, if you're in a 14 team league and you have a dead roster spot, you pick up Lemekel
Piran.
Even if he's the guy for the Jets,
what is he going to be?
Right.
It's not a good situation. It's right
now the lowest scoring team in the NFL,
I believe.
They're not going to get any better without Le'Veon Bell, I suppose.
Hopefully, Le'Veon Bell will get better
without the New York Jets.
Where's the worst place he can go right now in your mind?
For him or for a starting
fantasy running back? First for him.
For him?
Man, the Giants?
I don't think there's
any chance, but that's the other scenario that's like,
oh God, they're bad. Offensive line stinks
and they have other players there, so I'd say the
Giants. That's the first
team that came to mind. Ravens?
Ravens would be really bad.
I can't imagine.
That would be terrible.
The Bengals? The Bengals are interesting.
The Bengals, then? The Bengals are interesting.
And then for someone else, I think
the Chiefs. The Chiefs would really bother
me. I do think Clyde Edwards-Ziller is a workhorse right now.
And if they sign Le'Veon Bell,
I think it would be kind of like Damian Williams
after the LeSean McCoy.
Lesser extent.
He wouldn't get the same work as McCoy,
but it would be enough to be annoying.
What do you think?
Yeah.
I mean, the thing that's going to be frustrating,
well, first off, look, if he goes somewhere, don't automatically downgrade the starter.
So if he goes to Kansas City, don't all of a sudden think Clyde Eversler stinks.
Don't all of a sudden, if he goes to Chicago, think Dave Montgomery stinks.
You know, I'm trying to think.
It's got to be a situation that he goes to like since Seattle to me,
Seattle makes the most sense because Chris Carson has already been banged up a little bit. Uh, you know, he came into the season with the,
the concussion situation. Um, I'm sorry, with the hip situation. And,
you know, then he got his knee twisted. So they, you know, Rashad Penny,
who knows when he's coming back, the rest of that backfield stinks. You know, Carlos Hyde is, is,
is not a difference maker. Le'Veon might be. So that's one.
I also think Arizona too, you know,
they were aggressive with their back for the last year.
Remember they bring in Kenyon Drake when they still had David Johnson,
who was coming back from his injury and you know,
Chase Edmonds is, is, is serviceable, but they don't have a third guy.
Yeah.
Well,
we'll find out hopefully,
hopefully soon.
And hopefully it doesn't take too long for him to find a place.
We don't have to sit in suspense and we'll keep you updated on the fantasy
football today podcast.
Thanks a lot for listening,
everybody.
I'm Adam Azer for Jamie Eisenberg with this bonus pod.
I'll talk to you on Wednesday.
