Starting point is 00:01:10 Off to the races and he stays at his feet. This is gonna go the distance. Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath. It's mailbag time for reals this time. And actually, we don't have Dan. Dan is just letting everyone down. It's mailbag time for reals this time. And actually we don't have Dan. Dan is just letting everyone down. He's apparently dealing with some computer issue.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Sure we'll have a great story about it. And we hope to get him on soon, but Dave is here as well. Jamie is here. Good morning guys. Dave, big gulp of, looks like water there. Water? Yeah, it looks like water. Lemonade?
Starting point is 00:01:46 No. Okay. I always have trouble drinking cold water in the morning. I don't know if you guys are the same way. It's kind of an unnatural thing to be drinking right in the morning, but. In the morning? Yeah, like first thing, you know, it's too cold.
Starting point is 00:02:01 What do you normally go for? Cold water, I just don't really enjoy it. Yeah. Why don't you go room? Cold water. I just don't really enjoy it. Yeah. Why don't you go room temperature? How would I do that? Let it sit out for a second. I don't know. You got a faucet in your kitchen.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Oh, I never drink from the faucet. That's gross. Wow. You're some kind of weirdo. Anyway, we get your emails. Got a card in your back yard. You were that kid that wouldn't drink from the water fountain when you were growing up, right? I was, I would drink from the water fountain,
Starting point is 00:02:30 but boy did I hate those kids. You got a creek somewhere in your town? I hated those kids who put their whole mouth on the water fountain. All those creeps like Dan. I never put my mouth on a water fountain. At least I drank from a water fountain. One time I was with Adam at a Giants game,
Starting point is 00:02:45 a tailgate outside of it, and we met some fans of the show, and they were awesome, they were nice. You know, hi, how are you? They go to shake Adam's hand. When they walk away, the second they walk away, Adam's like scrambling for hand sanitizer. I don't tell that story.
Starting point is 00:03:00 By the way, Dan, I just Googled W-E-R-T-E-R. I've never heard of that beverage before. W-E-R. W-E-R. W-E-R-T-E-R. W-E-R-T-E-R. What kind of fountain did you drink from when you were a kid? Water fountain? Oh, now you changed it. You totally... No, that's how I always say water fountain.
Starting point is 00:03:22 We had a former coworker used to always say order. That's a Philly thing. I don't do the water. You did. Absolutely. You're from Philly. All right. So that's slandered a damn.
Starting point is 00:03:32 All right. So we got your emails, fantasy football at CBSI.com. That's a letter I send them in fantasy football at CBSI.com. No Apple podcast comments. If you want to leave us a five-star review on Apple podcasts and you can leave it, tell everybody why you like the show and then you can leave a question. We'll read those on the air.
Starting point is 00:03:47 But I did go to Facebook and I got some good questions from our Facebook page. If you want to join our Facebook group, please do. It's a good community to get your questions answered. And it's just search for fantasy football today on Facebook. Two quick news items. The Ravens signed Derrick Henry to a two year $30 million extension
Starting point is 00:04:04 with $25 million guaranteed. And very small news, the Patriots signed, sorry, this kind of sounds mean, they signed running back Trevion Williams, probably won't be a fantasy factor, maybe a special teams factor. But with Derrick Henry signing this two-year $30 million extension, $25 million guaranteed. Dave, why should he not be a first round pick even in a PPR league? He certainly deserved that last year based on how he did last year. He was worth a first round pick. Why shouldn't he be a first round pick this year?
Starting point is 00:04:33 Just feels like you're drafting him a little bit too high to his ceiling. And if you're drafting him that high in a PPR league, who are you passing up? That could be even better. At some point, there will be some sort of downturn for Derek Henry where he's not gonna be 19 PPR points per game. I just, I've tried to target him in round two. I think that that's a safe time to get a guy who's been consistently great for fantasy managers. All right, would you take Derek Henry or Malik Neighbors?
Starting point is 00:05:03 Neighbors were retired. Full PPR. Yeah. Everyone's on team Neighbors neighbors right now. Full PPR. Yeah. Everyone's on team neighbors there? Okay. Full PPR. Are you not? Are you not Adam?
Starting point is 00:05:11 No, I mean, I am, but it's like, you know, Derek Henry averaged 20 PPR fantasy points per game. 19.9 PPR fantasy points per game with 19 catches last year. He scored 18 touchdowns. He's unbelievable. And every time he's doubted, I mean, every time period, he's just amazing. Well, that's the thing. He really... Am I really doubting him for saying that he's not a top 12 player? But if you go to my PPR rankings
Starting point is 00:05:36 right now, he's 14. Well, he averaged the same amount of points as Bijan Robinson last year. Bijan's your number one running back. Derrick Henry is a second round pick. I don't disagree with you because he actually wasn't that great in 2023. Then he was amazing last year. But I'm just saying that there is a little bit of contradiction there. It's just age, I think. Well, it also catches. You year where he had 367 carries. It's a lot for a 31 year old man. Maybe not that 31 year old man. All right, let's give a big congratulations to Jim Schrager. He won our NFL draft contest
Starting point is 00:06:19 with nine out of 10 correct picks. Wow. That's amazing. So congratulations to Jim. You are in the podcast league. We will reach out to you at a later date. Let's close up our schedule discussion with some notes to know from our CBS Sports Research team. Dallas is the first team in NFL history
Starting point is 00:06:40 with six straight games against 11 plus win teams from the previous year. Woo! The Eagles are the first team in NFL history with 10 games versus playoff teams from the previous year. Like I said yesterday, I mean, the NFC East just got a really tough draw. Detroit has the most road games against above 500 teams
Starting point is 00:07:03 from the previous season in NFL history. Detroit plays eight road games against teams with 500 teams from the previous season in NFL history. Detroit plays eight road games against teams with winning records from the previous season that's the most in NFL history. How many of them are in a dome? I don't know, you tell me. No, coughing is not the right answer. Jared cough.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Thank you. You tell me while I tell you this, the Chiefs have seven prime time games. That's the most in the NFL, including five in the first eight weeks, including the Sunday night football matchup that CBS Sports ranked as the worst Sunday night football matchup of the season,
Starting point is 00:07:38 week three Chiefs at Giants. Not cool, CBS. The Commanders have eight standalone games that's tied with the chiefs and the Cowboys for the most. And this is something I definitely should have mentioned yesterday and I am sorry. I said that Patriots have the easiest strength of schedule in the AFC, but which team has the easiest strength of schedule based on last year's results? It's the 49ers and they have the easiest strength of schedule for any team since the 2015 Atlanta Falcons. None of San Francisco's last seven games are against teams that made the playoffs last
Starting point is 00:08:14 year. What are the 2015 Atlanta Falcons finish? That's a great question. Let's I got it. The so-called easiest schedule ever. 2015 who's going gonna find it? I got it Adam, they were eight and eight.
Starting point is 00:08:29 They were eight and eight, so that's all they got out of the easiest schedule ever. I'm pretty sure that team still had Matt Ryan on it. Maybe Julio Jones. They were six and 10 the year before. Great, so they got a two game increase? Yeah, I mean that's not. Julio had 136 catches for 1,871 yards.
Starting point is 00:08:46 They had a pretty good offensive year. The easiest schedule now is not likely to be the easiest schedule at the end. Everyone knows that, but it's still significant. All right, I'm not getting into this again. All right, let's get to some Facebook questions. We're gonna start with Gabriel L. Best II. That is a strong name.
Starting point is 00:09:07 That is a strong name. Right? I'm embarrassed by my name. Gabriel L. Best II. You're no Gabriel L. Best II. You say you're embarrassed by your name. You've had the ability now to name two human beings. Yeah, they have stronger names than me. Right. They have stronger names than you. Okay. My name is Adam. I mean, can we be a little less original? Literally the oldest name in the book.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Have you like yelled at your parents about this? Every time I see them. Every time? I'm sure your dad loves that conversation. All right. Here's the question from Gabriel L. Best II. He's not in the room long enough to hear it. What's this guy's name? Gabriel L. Best II. How can you be best II?
Starting point is 00:09:47 Like wouldn't the first be the best? Second best. All right, why is Jameer Gibbs being ranked? I've never heard that joke before. Why is Jameer Gibbs being ranked like he has the backfield to himself? That's question number one. And question number two,
Starting point is 00:10:01 is this the deepest the quarterback position has been? Jamie, why don't you take question number one? Why is Jamir Gibbs being ranked like he has the backfield to himself? He's averaged 18.2 PPR fantasy points per game with Montgomery last year, 31.5 points per game without Montgomery, including the game Montgomery left with an injury. So aside from Bijan, I think you can make a case for about five or six running backs that could be number two. Gibbs is number two for me. Barclay scares the hell out of me because of the workload that he had last year. Henry because of his age.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Achan because of Tua and I still think Achan got a little bit worried about what the workload will be. And Gentie just because he's a rookie. So those are really the guys I think that are Emma Caffer because of his injury. You know, those are the next guys for me in terms of who should be second. Uh, I think Gibbs has shown enough in a tandem that there's still plenty of upside and you've seen what he can be when Montgomery is not there. We have a new offensive coordinator. We have a team that's certainly more than committed
Starting point is 00:11:05 to Gibbs being, I think, even more featured than he has been in the past. And that's just speculation, but we'll see how that plays itself out. I just feel very confident in his skillset and the offense that he's in, the offensive line he plays in, his role in the passing game.
Starting point is 00:11:20 To me, he's got number one upside, as we saw. So that's why I like him, even though he does have a very strong compliment. To me, again, he's the number two running back in fantasy. So I think, all right, so just to compare the two stretches, the first 13 games with David Montgomery, we're talking about
Starting point is 00:11:50 a 233 carry pace and only a 44 catch pace. That's what you know, might might get lost on people who didn't really catch the ball that much. The last four games we're talking about a 306 carry pace compared to 233 with Montgomery, and a 77 catch pace compared to a 44 catch pace with Montgomery. And I believe Montgomery actually had more catches than Gibbs in those first 14 games. Yeah, he had 36 and Gibbs had 34. That being said, Gibbs was the number six running back per game in full PPR in that stretch. Number five and half PPR.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Montgomery was also top 12. He was 11th per game. So if you're looking for value, it's just going to be Montgomery again. But like, does anybody think that the split will be different? Jamie alluded to that. He's hoping the split will be different. If it's not different, Jameer Gibbs is probably going to be a disappointment, not a bust, but a disappointment as a top five pick. But do you guys think that it's a bigger piece of the pie, Dan and, and, and Dave forgives this year with Montgomery on the field. Go ahead, Dan. I don't think much is going to change. I was just looking at the difference
Starting point is 00:12:52 between 2024 and 2023. One month, I guess Montgomery missed, what was it? Four games to end last season. Was that what the number was? Three and a half, basically. Three and a half. Okay. And it really, just as efficient Gibbs, he was 5.2 yards per carry in 2023, 5.6. He had six more touchdowns rushing the same amount of receptions, despite having that opportunity to play more when Montgomery was out. So I think the, what the reason people like Gibbs the most to me is just the floor on this offense behind this offensive line with that kind of skillset that he has, especially in PPR, you're looking at worst case, I think the volume he had in 2023.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I don't know if it's going to jump ahead at 250 carry 250 carries and 52 receptions of 300 plus total like he had last year. I would think it would actually come down if Montgomery just stays healthy because I don't, they don't, they don't have any reason to take Montgomery off the field, but you don't need that. I don't know if you need that volume. Like, like you said, for it to maybe be worth a top five, sure, in that B-Gen range and that range of players
Starting point is 00:13:47 we're taking in that area. But there's a floor with Gibbs that I think people like. Run to. Run to, yeah, they run to the floor. So is everybody cool with Gibbs as a top six pick overall? Yes, because of that. And that floor last year was 18.9 PPR points per game. So what he had in the 14 games with Montgomery. And yeah, like we're, if you're drafting him as a top three
Starting point is 00:14:14 running back, you're kind of drafting him close to a ceiling. And we, I certainly try and stay away from that, but the floor is so good. There there's going to be other running back. That floor is what Derek Henry was last year. Derek Henry was 19 PPR points per day. So yeah, you might be taking them a little bit early, but the upside case is the Lions offense has to play from behind a little bit more. I'm not sure that the offense will be quite as efficient as it was last year without Ben Johnson. Morton, the new offensive coordinator just raved about both Gibbs and Jamison Williams talked about this like super fast human beings that he's never had the chance to work with. And it would kind of make sense that in his third season, and David Montgomery's 28 years
Starting point is 00:14:56 old, a little bit more work goes on Gibbs plate. And he's got great efficiency to go with everything else. I think he could, I think he could get a right around 20 PPR points per game with Montgomery. Can I put through one small piece of cold water on this? Well, after this commercial break, you can pour some cold water on it. We got to take a break. Sorry. Okay. We'll be right back with cold water. Didn't I already tell you I don't like cold water in the morning? We'll be right back with cold water. Didn't I already tell you I don't like cold water in the morning? We'll be right back with cold water after the cold cold water. We're gonna pour some cold water When we come back break already

Starting point is 00:16:59 Instacart, groceries that over-deliver. All right, word or time, go for it. One thing is, I think part of what frustrated managers for Gibbs two years ago was just the game script. And last year that was lost because the Lions had so many injuries on defense and their defense fell apart. We could be looking at a much improved Lions defense this year as they get healthy.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And then we could be looking at a lot of the games that frustrated us, at least as Gibbs managers, two years ago when it was Montgomery, a lot more than we wanted to see. So that'd be the one thing that would scare me a little bit. And I actually find Montgomery to be a pretty good value where he's going. All right. I'm just going to one other issue. Okay. We got to get going here, but go ahead. But just food for thought. You can answer this later if you want to. Let's say you're going to be sour on Gibbs. Were you taking? Because I think you're going to see a lot of the Jen D.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Jen D. That's going to be fun to take. Gentie. I've already taken him in two of our mocks. It's a very fun pick to make. Did you take him over to your Gibbs? I, where did I get, I think I got him at eight. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Cause you are, you are knocking your head against the ceiling. You are levitating. If you're taking him over, Jamiro. No, I don't think I got him at eight. I don't think so. Cause you are knocking your head against the ceiling. You are levitating if you're taking him over Jameer Gibbs. No, I don't think I'm taking him over Jameer Gibbs. I don't think that. I mean, look, if Jameer Gibbs, is anyone going to disagree with this comment? If David Montgomery stays healthy, Ashton Jenthe is going to have at least 50 more
Starting point is 00:18:19 carries than Jameer Gibbs. 50? Yeah, cause like, I'm not saying it's going to be the same exact split, but just for reference, for reference, he was on pace for 233 carries. Jamir Gibbs in Montgomery's healthy games last year. I would take the under but it's probably gonna be close. And honestly, he might have catch more passes. That's the
Starting point is 00:18:42 thing like Gibbs is not a 70 catchcatch guy when Montgomery is there. He might be, but he wasn't even close to that. He was 44-catch pace with Montgomery there last year. They've got Laporta, they've got Williams, they've got St. Brown. They're not that many catches to go around. He averaged a touchdown per game with Montgomery. There's actually more of a floor than I think for Gibbs. I'm sorry we're spending so much time on this question, but it's very interesting. From a touch standpoint, I do think Gentie will will blow him away.
Starting point is 00:19:08 If Montgomery's healthy, I don't know that. How do you those touches though that you consider? Yeah. I also don't want to overvalue Gentie with, you know, expecting him to walk in and do that right away. I mean, clearly, we're expecting a lot of great things from him. But like to away. I mean, clearly we're expecting a lot of great things from him. But like to, to say 50 more carries is a lot. I think we'll get to 280 though. You know, I think I approached 300, but hopes and how competent the Raiders are. I mean, you're putting, you're putting, uh, gives it the same number though. No, I'm put, no, I was putting Gibbs at two, Oh, yes, yes, yes. I know what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:19:41 All right. Next question. Uh, Gabriel, you asked about the quarterback position. I'm going to skip that. We have another question about quarterbacks from Mike Gaynor. You talk a fair bit about running back handcuffs, but who are some great quarterback handcuffs, especially with so many games now, game nowadays without starting, what? All right, sorry, I shouldn't have read that part.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Quarterback handcuffs, it's an interesting thought here. I wouldn't really take a handcuff, but who are some good backup quarterbacks? I guess we could put in this super flex or two QB. Yeah. If you want to put that friend with us now where he's got Kyler Murray and Anthony Richardson as his quarterbacks and he's contemplating trying to make a trade for Daniel Jones. And so Jones is one that comes to mind because clearly we've seen some of his upside when he's been a healthy starter, you know, he uses his legs. He was, you know, what a 3,700 guy, um, was a 2022. Um, and you know, those are hard to find and I think he'll do some similar things in this
Starting point is 00:20:42 offense and the reason he comes to the forefront for me at least is because there's a clear path to playing time. You know, so when you're talking about backup quarterbacks, like, you know, he's, he's one, uh, obviously we're, we're excited about Jalen Milro and what he could do if he ever gets an opportunity to start, um, again, mostly because he's going to use his legs, but look, there's been a pretty, pretty nice track record for Jamis Winston. I don't know if he'll be the first guy off the bench given what the Giants have in investing in
Starting point is 00:21:09 Jackson Dart. And then you just look at, you know, again, the guys that don't have, you know, I think the, the long standing ability to stay in their role or be injured, you know, so Zach Wilson, you know, again, not sexy, but you know, there's there's a path to playing. But that's really what it is. But can I ask you a question though? Because I think for handcuffs, it's not. I mean, I want guys that I actually feel like I might start if the starter gets injured. If a starter doesn't get into it, you're going to have to start everybody. Well, but but like, I'm not going to Zach Wilson might average 15 points per game. Doesn't matter in a super flex
Starting point is 00:21:49 But I'm just saying like okay, are we just trying to pick the guys on Joe Milton? That's an interesting one for Dallas Dak Prescott has that injury history. He can run he can throw. Yeah Mac Jones in a Kyle Shanahan system if birdie gets hurt again, he's been hurt a lot Everybody really scores in that Kyle Shanahan system, you know, that's a great one. Yeah There's a couple more. Sam Howell. Oh, yeah. I was going to get to Howell for sure because McCarthy, we know about his injury history, certainly recent injury history, and we know that Kevin O'Connell likes to work his magic with quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:22:20 So if I'm drafting JJ McCarthy in a two- a two QB league, spending one of my last picks on Sam Howell, I don't hate it. I also might be able to draft somebody else and then cut somebody for the season starts and pick up how you can do that with pretty much all these guys, except maybe Zach Wilson. I think Zach Wilson is a great call, but if Burrow goes down, Jake Browning has proven to be a good quarterback that can jump in there. That's somebody that I wouldn't mind stashing.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Uh, if Stafford goes down, this is going to make some people puking their mouths, but Jimmy Garoppolo would get the opportunity to, uh, to play a little bit. And if Mahomes were to get hurt or miss time, it's Gardner Minshew. Yeah, that's a good one. In that offense, maybe he'd be okay. Okay. Next question. Two, two for one here from Mark and Blaine. Mark says RJ Harvey or Trevion Henderson and Blaine says, Amarian Hampton or RJ Harvey. So I'll let all three of you rank Harvey Hampton Henderson, Triple H.
Starting point is 00:23:20 You just did for me. Harvey Hampton Henderson. Okay. Should I rank them as if I were Triple H? Yeah. Hampton! Harvey! Henderson! That's actually pretty good. That was awesome. What a moment. That was great, Dave. Wow. That was epic.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Can you describe for our listening audience, Dan, what just happened there? I don't know if I could describe that well. You did the Triple H Waters. YouTube and watch for yourself and Dave is bright red right now. It looks like it took all the air out of him. Let him catch his breath as we go through the rest of this question. Dan, how do you rank them? Harvey? I'm very high on him. I don't care about the nausea. Beesley, he fits that system
Starting point is 00:24:21 so well. He's gonna get so many red zone opportunities and big play opportunities. My God, can they block their, uh, Greg Roman and that He fits that system so well. He's gonna get so many red zone opportunities and big play opportunities my god Can they block their? Greg Roman and that offensive line. He is easily my favorite Harvey. Yeah, I've loved him pre-draft I gotta like him now got a little reservations about that offense, but I trust Sean Payton to scheme up open space for him So I like those two specifically more than Henderson who was one of my favorite prospects in the class I just have my concerns about this Patriots offensive line. They've done a little bit to prove it, not enough.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Dan, you said you had some reservations. You strike me as someone who has not made restaurant reservations in at least five years. Yeah, well, you are incorrect because I just planned out my brother's bachelor party a few months ago and made reservations throughout that party. So, sometimes I surprise even you, Adam. Here's James Doyle on Facebook.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Who are some of your top RB twos on their NFL team that you think could turn into a league winner if the primary running back were to miss significant time? Love this subject. Scataboo, let me start with Cam Scataboo. Get the hell out of here. He might be the one. What, are you serious? What are you crazy, Adam?? I just said they're gonna use Devon Singletary like he's the top of the list
Starting point is 00:25:30 If Tracy gets hurt, he's not the top of the list He's just one that quickly came to mind you said from your teams and I was thinking about the Giants. Oh, yeah, okay Fantasy team. Oh look, he's a guy who had seven he finished the the season with 12 straight, a hundred plus yard scrimmage games. He's proven. He can do it both ends of the field. He's third best in yards for our run. Like this was a workhorse productive player in both areas of the game. Like how many of those number twos are there?
Starting point is 00:25:56 He wouldn't be at the number one hand. No, I mean, you could talk about Charbonne. You can talk about a lot of these, these guys as well. Um, who else? Arbina, Garendo Mason. Yeah. Mason, I'd rather have Scatterburne. Trey Benson.
Starting point is 00:26:08 And Garando. Benson, yeah. What happened to him? Hit good tape, Dave. There's like no hyper buzz around him at all. Yeah, great highlights. There were plenty of. Yeah, no, that's fair.
Starting point is 00:26:18 He ran high. Yeah, but you kind of think that the coaching staff, if they were worth anything, could try and bring that out of them. Maybe they just didn't really do it. I still feel. I think he's a nice buy this year. But you'd rather have the starting running back for the Giants and the starting running
Starting point is 00:26:33 back for the Vikings? No, good point. So are you saying, oh, okay. So you're saying by putting Scadaboo over Mason. I just don't trust Mason to be that talented in a lead role. I know he's done it with San Fran, but anyone can kind of do it behind that Shannon scheme Yeah, but it's the same in Minnesota and the line is I feel that way about Minnesota's past game I definitely don't feel away about their run game at all
Starting point is 00:26:57 I'm gonna give one more name similar principal scheme, but not they don't block the same way in the run game This is a guy. They don't have as much upside as the San Francisco run game. I just think like if you give me Jordan Mason in the lead role versus either one of the Giants running back, so I'm gonna take Jordan Mason. Yeah, you could also, I mean, like what about Najee? Najee's probably the best pick for this, right? If Hampton gets her.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Gersh's too. Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, depending on how you view the Patriots backfield, Ramandre still. I mean mean this situation essentially did play out for us in fantasy last year So there is opportunity like this was the chase Brown situation There was Moss and Brown a lot of people like Brown they drafted Brown But people like Moss they drafted him too and Moss got hurt and Brown was top five fantasy play. Sure Taji Spears Spears I think for it to fit though. It has to be in that Cincinnati mole where it's like a
Starting point is 00:27:47 top offense. I think Spears would be so good. I mean, Tony Pollard was very good last year. I think Spears would be great without him. And Austin Eckler, I think, is another guy. Looking at Eckler's games without Brian Robinson last year, it's not nearly as encouraging as I thought. He did score three touchdowns in three games, So he had a decent amount of fantasy points,
Starting point is 00:28:06 but he didn't really get that many touches. He never had more than 14 touches in any of the three games without Robinson. But actually would probably be at a top 20 running back at worst. Ray Davis. Oh, Ray Davis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:18 So there were three names I wanted to give. He had the one game without Cook last year and was great. Sorry, Dave, go ahead. What are your names? Well, just with Ray, not only was he good last year when James Cook was out, Cook wants a new contract. What if he holds out? Yeah. What if he misses training camp, shows up for week one?
Starting point is 00:28:38 We know the track record of those guys that do that. They miss time. Ray Davis would be able to step in and be the lead running back in Buffalo, which might end up being a pretty good thing. Certainly a great value on draft day. Two more names. Jalen Wright. Bless you. Sorry. She's hit the mute button for good. I was trying to mute button. I couldn't get there in time. He hit the mute button during the sentence in which he was trying to explain that he was hitting the mute button. I got there at the same time as you, if not slightly before you. Better his sneeze than my sneeze. My sneezes are ridiculously loud. All right. Jalen Wright,
Starting point is 00:29:10 because we know that Devon H. and Mrs. Time and Wright would be the next guy up, I think in Miami. Is he the next guy up? As of now, I'm penciling him in as the next guy up, but we'll see. Basial Tooten, Jacksonville. I think he could be the main guy. Yeah, I agree. I just wonder like how much early in the season we're going to see all three guys touching the ball. Nine fumbles lost and 11 fumbles over the last two seasons for Tooten. I do like Tooten a lot talent wise and I did his profile for us for CBS, but 11 fumbles, nine loss over the last two seasons, that scares the hell out of me.
Starting point is 00:29:41 As far as playing time goes. Next question is from Dave Walker. That scares the hell out of me. As far as playing time goes. Next question is from Dave Walker. I had a teacher named Dave Walker. True story. Walker, Texas Ranger. There you go. Uh, realistic expectation for Kyle Pitts this season.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Don't laugh at my time. Wasn't me who made that noise. Oh man. Are you watching giants tape? We're watching Giants tape, watching Cordell Flada, no name corner. And he is one interception in the years. A red zone route where Pennex perfectly hits Kyle Pitz coming out of his break on an outroute and Pitz just like has the ball in his hands
Starting point is 00:30:16 and like hands it to the Giants corner. It's like the microcosm for Kyle Pitz as a player. I this I throw my hands up with Pitz. I've bought in on him every year at the decreasing value. Dave knows about this. Jamie knows. They mock with me. I've always felt like it's happening. I just can't get in my head what I watched on Florida tape. I don't understand what happened. I guess it's injuries. I don't really understand how a player could fall off this much from college to the NFL. So I don't know what to say about him, but it's finally over. I'm not
Starting point is 00:30:41 drafting him this year. I will point out Pitts finally had had a lower A-dot. One of my big beefs with the way they were using him in his first three seasons was he consistently led the position with the highest A-dot or very close to it. Just not enough easy plays. But he finally had about an 8.5 yard A-dot, and he was very good on a per catch basis. He was, I think, third amongst tight ends with 50 or more targets in yards per catch. He was, I think, third amongst tight ends with 50 or more targets in yards per catch. He was 11th in yards per target. I may have switched them up, but he was good on a per target and per catch basis. He was terrible on a per route run basis. He just did not get targeted. He had one of the lowest target per route run
Starting point is 00:31:19 rates. You consider Kyle Pitts had basically the same yards per outrun as David Njoku. But David Njoku was like fifth in target per outrun rate and Pitts was 27th. So he just didn't earn the targets. And I guess I really don't feel like he definitely will. There was a comment from his coach this off like a few weeks ago. I don't know if you guys saw this where he's like last week, last week, if something about he still needs, we still need to see consistency from him. And like all these things, like this guy's going at the year five. Oh, I mean, they're also hyping him up again.
Starting point is 00:31:53 So, OK, I didn't see that. But I saw that we need more consistent. I think it was that Robinson again. OK, yeah. All right. All right. Next question lower than ever, Jamie, this one's for you. First word from Micah Kurtz. Is Bucky Irving just a one hit wonder or do you see Bucky Irving repeating? I see him repeating.
Starting point is 00:32:12 I mean, you know, that's another guy that should be mentioned is Rashad White. Should something happen to Bucky Irving because we've seen him produce at a high level fantasy wise. But looking at the way he performed last year when he was in a shared situation, hopefully he gets more work this year and can be somewhat closer to a featured guy. I don't think that will necessarily be the case, but there's clearly that opportunity. But I think what you saw from him, especially down the stretch, like there's so much to love and this offense is fantastic. I think just, I hope it continues, but they've shown the ability to go from one
Starting point is 00:32:43 offensive coordinator to the next in a year to year span and get better. And so they're staying in house, you know, hopefully the loss of Liam Cohen isn't felt tremendously and, and, you know, kind of a seamless transition, but he seems to be the guy. And I know the track record of day two, no day three running backs can be a little scary, but there's still so much to love about what he showed the offense that he's in can do. I think everything in all facets of the game. And it feels as if this coaching staff trusts him.
Starting point is 00:33:11 That's what at least you got the impression from the owners meetings, that they're just in love with him. So to me, he's an easy second round pick. Dare. I suggest there's meat on the bone here for Bucky Irving final eight games. And I think it's more work. Right. Final eight games, including the postseason, 18.1 PPR points per game, 15.2 non PPR points per game in two of those games, just two of those games. Did he play more than 60% of the snaps? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:48 What if he played, what if he played 65 to 70% of the snaps every game? And that could be something we see with the new coaching staff, but that was one wrinkle that could actually change playing time and snaps and who gets what. And just think, we all saw Rashad white play last year. Comparing the two of these running backs. Yeah. It's not even close. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Well, I think the bucks figured that out, Dave, because in their last four games, week 16, 17, 18, and the playoffs, 72 carries for Bucky Irving, 10 for Rashad white. So it was a pretty annoying split up until that point. But then they just, they said Bucky's our guy. He carried them down the stretch and he scored 18.2, 23, 16.4, and 16.3 points per game in those four games. Pretty favorable matchups, I will say that.
Starting point is 00:34:39 All right, a couple more questions from Facebook. I'll give this one to Dan from Jacoby. Where would you rank Travis Hunter strictly as a receiver prospect against last year's rookies? Oh my god, this is such a great question I feel like we I've been asked this question for so I had Hunter as my clear-cut best wide receiver that I watched On tape in this class to me. It wasn't really close. I liked that I think he offers something different. But what Hunter offers to me is I brought it up and I don't want to compare the two players because they're not the same. He's not as
Starting point is 00:35:12 explosive or straight line speed, but similar to what Justin Jefferson can do from the loose hip fluidity that he has and how that allows him to get in and out of his breaks, specifically at the top of his routes. And then specifically with his release off the line of scrimmage, which helps him win in the red zone and it helps him stack on vertical routes. There's really no negative to his game that I see besides maybe the deep speed because he didn't test and I guess potentially his size. He's only 185. With that said, I would not have him above neighbors. I think now given the ability to watch how players play at the NFL level and I always say this, you're allowed to change your evaluation on players when you see how
Starting point is 00:35:46 they play at the NFL level, because that's the key. The key is it's all projection. We don't know how they'll adjust the speed of the game and the competition. I would put them over Marvin Harrison. I don't know if I'm thinking Marvin Harrison's game is exact. It's harder to translate now. I think Harrison could still be a dominant player with the right quarterback situation. I don't think Kyler Murray is that at all.
Starting point is 00:36:04 And I don't think thisler Murray is that at all. And I don't think the system fit for him. But I think that Hunter may be less of a need for a system and less of a need for surroundings and can kind of just do it no matter what his situation is. So I'd put him out of him. And then I had a Romo Dunze as well. So he'd be YRC for two for me. No, wait.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Brian Thomas Jr. Don't forget about Brian Thomas Jr. Oh, and then Brian Thomas Jr. There's McConkie and Worthy for what it's worth, too. And McConkie and Worthy are great players. But I think I'd have worthy for what it's worth to and McConkey and worthy are great players But I think I'd have him over both of them McConkey maybe comes in the mix. I think I got to put Brian Thomas over him It's just crazy to be able to move the way that he does and the key with it with Thomas to me is like to have That kind of flexibility that hip flexion at that size. You see that with like Julio and like no one else
Starting point is 00:36:42 So I he's a freak athlete. I have to put him, so maybe three, three in the class for me. Okay. And last question, I'll give this one to me. This is from Gus. He says, have you given up baking burgers? And yes, I have. I have an air fryer now and I air fry everything.
Starting point is 00:36:59 I air fry everything. You know, somebody sent me a video the other day, Adam, my friend, Kevin, who listens to our show. And he's like, please send this to Adam ASAP. It's like a TikTok video of like, I tried a new way of making burgers and it's this woman and she has four burger patties already pre-made, a pot of boiling water and she drops them in and boils the burgers. My God, did it look bad when I came out of that body?
Starting point is 00:37:22 It was gray. That meat was so gray. Oh, that sounds horrible. It looked horrible and it's like the fat of this kind of breaking off and blowing to the top. It looks so bad. I used to boil hot dogs. I don't know if you guys ever did that.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Yeah, I'm not a boiled hot dog guy, like a dirty water dog guy. I always feel like, rank the ways of eating hot dogs. To me, the number one way by far is a grilled dog. Easily, easily, far is a grilled dog. Yeah. Easily, easily. Not a dirty water dog. I'd say grilled dog one.
Starting point is 00:37:49 I don't know if you've had these, Ruts Hut in New Jersey, maybe Jamie, I doubt anyone else on this podcast has had it, probably not even Jamie. They have something called the Ripper, which is a deep fried dog. That's pretty damn good. Yeah, those are out there.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Hot dogs aren't unhealthy enough. Let's deep fry them. Yeah, exactly. My rankings. Hot dogs aren't unhealthy enough. Let's deep fry them. Yeah. Exactly. My rankings, I've never had that, would be, you know, barbecue, stove top, air fryer, oven, boil. OK. I think I'd go boil over oven.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Oven to me is just the absolute stone worst option. It just dries everything out. What about on a stick over a bonfire? Yeah, I like that. I like that a lot. El natural. That's probably pretty good. All right. We're going to take a break here. I air fried some chicken wings yesterday, by the way they were. Those are great. Chicken wings are great in there. Wonderful. All right, we'll take a break. Get your emails. Fantasyfootballatcbsi.com. We'll be right back. Starting point is 00:39:17 All right. We're back emails. This one's from Miguel. What are your so I'm not quite sure why he asked this question with the with the years but well edited he said, What are your views if Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers signed for a three year agreement? So I don't really think that's in the cards. But let's just change it to what if they sign a one year agreement and Jamie didn't mention this on the schedule show yesterday.
Starting point is 00:39:46 The Steelers open the season at the Jets in week one. Oh, I love it. So it seems like, you know, there's still a lot of thought that it's going to happen eventually. What do you think about Aaron Rodgers eventually going to the Steelers? Maybe that's what he was waiting for to see when they're playing. Maybe he's look, he hasn't played great. The last couple of times we've seen him season wise, end of the Packers tenure and you know,
Starting point is 00:40:12 the year with the Jets, but he was also coming off the Achilles injury. He's in his 40s at this point, you know, it's another team, another, you know, system he has to learn. And I think as we've talked about, you know, where he's been sort of in control of everything, that's not going to be the case in Pittsburgh. I don't think Mike Tomlin is going to allow him to have free reign. So I would guess it's going to be a somewhat frustrating experience. Now, that being said, he should be very good for DK Metcalf based on his track record with number one receivers. He should still be able to throw to his running backs. So that's going to help, I think, both Caleb Johnson
Starting point is 00:40:47 and more importantly, Jalen Orne. And he probably will keep the Steelers on the exact same track record where they've been, which is keeping them in playoff contention and getting into at least a wild card round and seeing how far they go. But it's not exactly the savior of the franchise. I mean, if this was 10 years ago, it's not exactly the savior of the franchise. I mean, you know, if this was
Starting point is 00:41:05 10 years ago, it's a different story. And also, by the way, the Steelers play the Packers in week eight. So very attractive schedule for Aaron Rodgers. Okay, well, we'll react to it if and when it happens. This is from Joe Bro. I have a question about murky running back rooms. More specifically, Chuba was great last year and he seems to be falling slightly in drafts. I'm just wondering if you think Rico Dowdle will take away work in Carolina
Starting point is 00:41:34 or if they just signed him to replace Miles Sanders as the backup. And I would also like you guys to weigh in on Javante Williams and Jaden Blue with the Cowboys and the Jaguars. All right. So he wants to specifically about these three murky running back rooms. They've ranked them in terms of least murky to most murky Carolina, Dallas and Jacksonville least murky to most murky. Yeah. Carolina's number one. That's easy. I think Chuba is their guy. Dowdell is going to be their, their backup guy.
Starting point is 00:42:06 And then, I mean, I'm going to break out in hives with either the Dallas or the Jacksonville backfield because they are both pretty murky. I'm going to put, I'm going to put Jacksonville ahead of Dallas because I think they at least have some solid talent at running back between ETN, Bigsby and the aforementioned Basial Tooten. Whereas the Cowboys have Javante Williams who just isn't the same after his injury. They've got Jayden Blue who really profiled as like a passing downs back and that's it.
Starting point is 00:42:39 They've got Phil Mafa who is a physical seventh round rookie running back. And I'm miles Sanders who's kind of fallen out of favor. So they, they've got crapola at running back that I just, I think I'm just going to pass on drafting any of them. And I'm not going to be real keen to draft Jaguars, but as we talked about, was it this week or last week Adam Chuba is somebody that I'm looking for. In that late round three, round four range. It's kind of an underrated running back
Starting point is 00:43:09 that can keep delivering good fantasy numbers from week to week. Dan, I'll give a hot take here. I will definitely be drafting more Jaden Blue than Chuba Hubbard. Obviously it's- Oh, then how, oh, you mean value-wise? Obviously it's, you know, obviously it's based on value.
Starting point is 00:43:24 There's a report in the athletic, just again, I struggle to call this a report, just a prediction. Saad Youssef, sorry if I'm mispronouncing that, he believes that by the end of the year, Jaden Blue will be the number one guy at running back for Dallas. I just think it's like identical to Rico Dowdell last year. I think it's more of the Pollard.
Starting point is 00:43:43 They found their next Tony Pollard, which essentially would be sort of a one, but more of like a split one. Like he had that like during his prime years with Dallas. But I'm with you. I like Jayden blue a lot more than I guess consensus. I understand he's small, sort of. He is definitely small.
Starting point is 00:43:58 What is he? 192 I believe. But I mean, some of these guys are in that range. Basial toons not that much bigger. He's more rocked up like 206 but like a stronger player But I think jane blue can do more than just passing downs to me I think he can be that pollard type for them and I don't want to totally skip this backfield because exactly Dak prescott's coming back their offensive line
Starting point is 00:44:17 Improved they keep drafting offensive linemen over and over again and shahn heimer made it clear We're gonna run the ball like what he's been all about and he's like No, the offense got together in the second half of this season. We started running the ball. It's like one of those types of coaching things I'm reading there. So I want a piece of that backfield and I don't want Gervonta. So blue is the guy for me with talent there. It just feels like it's an easy rasspot for JK Dobbins or Nick. Of course.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Well, that could change everything and that should happen too. Yeah. But you could easily draft Chuba and Blue. You can draft anybody because Blue is going to end up even like, you know, hot training camp reports and he looks good in the preseason. Like you're still going to be able to get him at the absolute earliest round eight. I guess the real thing Adam's saying then is just like, are any of us going to draft Javante Williams?
Starting point is 00:45:08 I don't think I'll have him on any rosters. It doesn't sound like Adam's going to have him on any rosters. I don't know what value he could fall to where I would want him personally. That's also to Dave's point. You could take both Cowboys running backs and at a very cheap cost. So if, if Javante is going to be the lead guy and you're looking at it as, is coming off a fifty cash season you know and and for guy that doesn't have maybe the same up side we want thought. Could easily produce fantasy wise like rico doubted it. What the potential of maybe jaden blue taking over that role at some point being the more productive of the two and blue is at least least as of now, we're going to go later. You know, if we get to the point where the training camp
Starting point is 00:45:46 reports are positive, he's competing for the lead role, then that's going to change things dramatically for him clearly, but that's the one thing I go back to Chubo, you know, I think we just overlooked maybe what ETN's role could be, and that makes me a little bit nervous. So, uh, I agree with Dave. It's, it's the less, uh, less murky of the backfields that we're looking at here. But I'm not taking him at the three, four turn. I would most likely looking for Chuba in the four or five turn at the earliest.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I don't want to reach for Chuba Hubbard this year. He was great last year, but this feels like what he was able to accomplish last year was basically doing it as the solo act. And I think we're going to see him sharing more so than we expect because of the other two guys. Can I quick hot take a quick hot take just looking at what Jamie just mentioned, which shocked me and I, and I just didn't remember. John T Williams had nine 52 catches last year, 99 over the last two seasons.
Starting point is 00:46:42 That's a Sean Payton stat. If I ever saw one you know what here's my odd take I'll take Audra guesstimay over Javante Williams this year straight up in fantasy what's Broncos didn't yeah take Audra guesstimay I look watch I don't want to completely rule out Javante I think the only hope is that watch what happens Dave you remember that article you wrote two years ago about Sean Payton the production of the running backs and the volume you get in the pass game? Give me that. Yeah, but that's not. Yeah, I don't think as to why not.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Why can't he be there, too? It's going to be more often. He might be there, too, but he's not going to catch any. No, I don't think so. Not with him. We said that about the Vonte Williams. We have 99 catches. All right. Let's make a bet for 2027. Okay, I'm not putting him on that many catches. Come on.
Starting point is 00:47:27 It's a it's a simple bet. It's a simple bet. So here's the bet. If Givante Williams, okay, you know what, I take it back. I just looked at his college reduction. No, no, come on. I expected more at estimate in the past game. This is all on a Williams outscores Audrey estimate. Then Adam gets at least two points per set. No way. He's expected to.
Starting point is 00:47:50 He's drafted 100 picks ahead of him. Well, there's going to be some. I'm only getting a little bit of a buzz for this match. He has no boost in all the other way. The only 26 receptions for Notre Dame. I take back this estimate. I guess he can't play that role. But you overestimate like the I just feel like I overestimated it. That was actually wrap it up. This Javante Williams thing. I'm
Starting point is 00:48:09 not gonna look at 99 catch the last years because Sean Bain gave him that and be like, I want to take him this year. Get him off my teams. Unroster Wolf. No. Okay. This is where I think maybe you're going a little too far. Even though we're team, we're team blue here. But listen, Javante Williams, you're hoping that some guys, it just takes longer for them to recover from the torn ACL. Givante, Chris Godwin is an example. It really took him, he even said it. Took him a long time, more than a year,
Starting point is 00:48:34 more than a year and a half, I'd say. So maybe for Givante, I watched him tape, I thought he looked like a fullback last year. He just really had no explosive. I'm saying. But if you can get that back, because I think Givante is going to get the first crack, I think he's definitely going to be the third down back, or at least over blue. He's
Starting point is 00:48:50 a good pass blocker. So he's going to have the first shot at it. I just think my personal opinion is it's going to be like Ezekiel Elliott. Basically, it's he's just not good enough anymore. And they're going to want the fresh legs. All right, this one is from Joe. It's a mere white part too. Yeah. I've been offered a trade. I can't decide whether or not to accept it. It's a super flex tight end premium league.
Starting point is 00:49:13 It's PPR. We start three receivers. This, so Joe has Dak, Tua and Cousins. So it doesn't, all right, Dak, T Dak Tua and cousins. So should Joe trade Kyler Murray and a second round pick for Jackson Dart and Tedaroa McMillan? Kyler and a second round pick to get those two quarterbacks? Dart and McMillan. And McMillan.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Jackson Dart and Tedaroan Macmillan. And he's rebuilding. Is that what he said? Uh, he didn't say that, but he has DAC two and cousins already. I know. I really like this deal. I think this could be a really good time to trade Kyler. Skylar has another down season.
Starting point is 00:50:02 That value is going to tank. Cardinals are not going to continue on with him. I don't think at that point. Tell me trade again. I'm sorry. Yeah. It's Ted Rowe McMillan wide receiver for the Panthers and Jackson Dirt more valuable than around to pick and Jackson Dart quarterback for the
Starting point is 00:50:17 giants for a second round pick and Kyler Murray. Yeah. And would dark even make it to the second round in a super flex league? He usually get like in the two I've done, he runs the back end of round one. Yeah. Okay. This is a yes. You're moving forward.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Look at your quarterbacks. They're old. Cousins is super old. Two of them might be a backup by this time next year. And Dak Prescott's 32. You need some, Dart's going to have a shot to start for. It's not like Kyler's old though. Kyler's not old.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Like, I could see the other side. The other side of it is Kyler's proven he can be a starting NFL quarterback and might have a job for another five, 10 years. Dart may have no years. If Dart feels early. I think about five, 10 years for Kyler. I don't either, personally. That's just the other side of the argument.
Starting point is 00:51:01 If Dart struggles with whatever playing time he gets this year and everybody's fired, does the new regime come in and say Dart's our guy? It's true. It's possible that they don't, but then you still have Tetmint Miller. Yeah, I think it's worth the gamble for the receiver. So yeah. All right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:18 This one is- Adam Thomas in the chat said, I was going to say, Gervonta will be Azur Zamir White this year. Remember that debate we had, buddy? I know you remember it. I do. By the way, what are you doing tonight? You just gonna watch TV?
Starting point is 00:51:33 Well, last night was Knicks and Panthers for me. I'm actually a huge Panthers fan. You don't know about this, but we have discussed it a little bit. Tonight, there's no good sports on, I don't think. Wait a second, what? You're a Panthers fan now? I became a Panthers fan like three years ago.
Starting point is 00:51:45 My best friend moved to Florida and became a diarcan. I think you're kind of obsessed with me. Like this is crazy. Nick's a Panthers fan. You don't even like him. Listen, what are your takes on drinking water? Oh, I love water. I drink so much water,
Starting point is 00:52:00 but I now become unfortunately a water snob, which sucks. Like I read too much stuff about tap water and I can't drink tap water anymore. Yeah this is creepy now. But anyway back to the Panthers thing. My best friend moved down there and then he started taking me to playoff games. I went to like two playoff games, a cup game. I love this team. Yeah me too.
Starting point is 00:52:17 They're awesome. Let's go. 6-1 yesterday. I love it. It's great. Crazy. But tonight I don't know what's going on tonight. I'm playing tennis tonight buddy. Just want to let you know.
Starting point is 00:52:27 You want to you need you playing doubles or singles? I'm playing doubles. I'll drive up if you need a fourth. No, no, no. It's a it's a USTA match. It's a league match. Like, you know, I'm just letting you know that I while you're sitting on the couch doing nothing, I'm training. All right. Respect it. Question from Anna.
Starting point is 00:52:41 Dear Matthew, Anthony and Savion. Williams's. Try again. Well, the only William and the Savion I know is Williams. Matthew and Savion are Packers. They're all Packers. They're the first three Packers. Matthew Golden, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:56 First three Packers drafted. 16 team league. I have 101 in our 16 team family league this year. I'm stressing out about it. We don't draft until the end of August. I don't pick again until 32. Do you think it's safer to go with a running back or take Jamar Chase? What would you guys do with the first overall pick in a PPR one quarterback but 16 team
Starting point is 00:53:21 league? Oh, Chase. Receiver drives up to a point. Oh, chase. Receiver. It's gotta it's gotta be chasing PBR. I don't think it really is close. I also think to answer the question, do you think it'll be safer? That's the whole point of going receiver instead of running back with those premium picks. It is safer over time. receivers are much running backs have a much stronger track
Starting point is 00:53:41 record of getting injured. I thought my data would say that receiver is really no safer than running back. In fact, the draft ADP sort of like, is it your data? Is it just azer? Just that that I've, you know, I haven't updated it. But looking at like the top 12, did you take out like the game when it was windy in December and stuff like that? No, listen, seriously, it's important top 12 picks ADP
Starting point is 00:54:05 at running back and wide receiver. I've gone back. I've looked at the last, I'd say at least five years except for last year. And I guarantee a running back was better than wide receiver last year in terms of players who were drafted top 12 and finished top 12. You have a higher hit rate at running back than you do at wide receiver. I think it surprised me when I saw that. And then last year would only reinforce that. But I'll go ahead and update that information sometime over the next, I can do it probably next week. But it's, I think it's a there's it's a myth to say that receivers are safer than running back personally, I think. Okay. Here's some names that are around 30 second overall in our consensus PPR rankings.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Joe Mixon, James Cook, Lad McConkey, Kenneth Walker, Reese Hall, JSN, Chuba Hubbard, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson. There's no way those receivers make it there. I don't know, Jamie. All the more reason to take Chase. Well, wait, what are you looking at? Your consensus rankings? Consensus PPR rankings for Well, wait, what that's it? What are you looking at your consensus rankings and census PPR rankings for me, Jamie? And so why wouldn't that? Why would there be no way that the
Starting point is 00:55:10 receivers I don't think they get there? I mean, yeah, when you when you start thinking how could be the receiver pull drives up on top, people are going to start to take those guys sooner. You can take a running back and Josh Allen with Jamar chase in a 16 team league and feel really good about that. Okay. Take it. Basically it's basically this. Do you want from the drafts I've done and again, these with other, you know, I've done
Starting point is 00:55:33 some, some other analyst sites. Uh, yeah. Um, do you want Jamar chase and James cook, or do you want Bijon Robinson and Terry McCorn? Jason Cook, hands down. Yeah, I guess Jason Cook. Next question. All right, wait, let's fire through the rest here. This is from Kip in Myrtle Beach.
Starting point is 00:55:59 When drafting Travis Hunter in a league where you can play him as a defensive back and get both offensive and defensive points. How much does that move Hunter up in redraft and does it move him above Genti in dynasty? Wow. Does not move above Genti. He's not gonna, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:17 I don't think he's gonna play that much on defense. What'd you say, Jamie? He's around three pick. In this scenario, okay. This is from Trevor. What are your thoughts on Dalton Schultz possibly returning to fantasy usability for at least part of the season as Higgins learns the playbook or learns the NFL and Kirk learns the offense in Houston.
Starting point is 00:56:36 He would be at the tail end of like the desperation tight end guys. Right. Plays the Rams in week one. So heavy defense so might get some targets you could use them as a streamer to begin the year all right this is from Max from a small town outside of Green Bay Wisconsin Dave O'Connor more first question is it Dave that says this is gonna go the distance in the intro? No, it's not. Definitely. It's Jim Nance. I'm pretty sure. Second question. Can you do an episode or two on players who
Starting point is 00:57:12 are being drafted based on their ADP at their ceiling or floor? I think this info is so valuable, especially for salary cap leagues. No, we're not going to do an episode, but we can do a segment on it. Players who are being drafted at their ceiling or floor based on their ADP. Why can't we do an episode on it? I guess we could. That's probably an August conversation, the ones we have.
Starting point is 00:57:36 Yeah, absolutely. Well, didn't you say- If we do it now, then it's closer to the floor. But the value of that segment, you're hitting that ceiling. I agree. I feel like James Cook is being drafted at his floor. He makes it into the third round. I just cannot see him performing anything worse than that unless he holds out because Dave said, hold out. Maybe they won't miss time, but they struggle. Just look at Josh Jacobs a couple years
Starting point is 00:58:01 ago, for example, the three receivers who held out going into this year got off the really slow starts, right? There were three, it was Iuke, Lam and Chase, I believe. James Cook to me is a guy that's like, you get him in the third round. Joe Mixon in the third round? Are you kidding me? Like that is drafting these guys at their floor. All right. Last one is from Scott. I'm in a ridiculously deep PPR keeper slash IDP league. My league mates are extremely sharp and I'm in bad shape running back wise. The only decent options are the incoming rookies. So I have Breeze Hall, Tyrone Tracy and Trey Benson. I'm keeping Breeze Hall. Would you keep Tracy or Benson or go fish? Tracy. If you don't keep them, you're just getting draft picks or if you do keep them,
Starting point is 00:58:47 you don't have the same draft picks. I wasn't quite sure. I mean, if you can keep them and it doesn't cost you anything, then why would you not take flyers on those guys, depending on when you have to make the decision? It seems like he can only keep two of three and maybe he can keep at most two of three and maybe just one and he's keeping Breeze Hall. So it's down to Tracy or Benson. That seems like a no-brainer. I keep Tracy. Dave. Yeah, I think Tracy. Reluctantly agreeing because I mean I don't love the situation for
Starting point is 00:59:24 either of them. I feel like making a joke, but I feel like it might be a little inappropriate. Too edgy? Yeah, I think so. It's a Simpsons joke about Tracy. You all know, if you know, you know. Oh.
Starting point is 00:59:40 All right, we are out of here. Thanks so much. Dan, it's good to have you on. It's great to be back. Love your background. Yeah, it's fantasy people today. I got a company man. Love your floating head.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Yeah, it's not too bad. One day this construction will be done in my house. I don't know when. It started in January. It was supposed to take six weeks and here we are in the middle of May and I don't know what to yeah I have no idea what to do. What is this? Want to give us a sneak peek?
Starting point is 01:00:10 I'm not in that current room but I could show you a room that's just completely gutted they redid the floor and they repainted everything it's gonna look nice I think but I don't know when and I don't know why they're doing this. A lot of questions, not a lot of answers. Bathroom renovation for Dan. Yes, good call, thank you. All right, we're out here, everybody. Have a great weekend.
Starting point is 01:00:33 We'll talk to you on Monday on Fantasy Fiction of the Day. Thanks. Paramount Podcasts.
